sworn to protect TOBIAS HUFFED AT MAYA'S REMARK, too focused on maintaining his tempo to snap back. While he was an investigator, that didn’t necessarily mean that he’d let himself go. Particularly not with his penchant for field-work. The Informant was thick with practical muscles, not just some flabby pencil-pusher. The audacity! And then she started running faster, haphazardly, with no care if her teammate could keep-up with her. Note to self, get someone more down-to-earth for the covert operations. Surely there had to be a heavy-hitter that wouldn’t treat this sort of extraction like some game…?
Tobias steadied his breathing, stepping away from the window. He followed Maya into the building, taking a small canister into his massive hand.
“Might’ve cleared the area,” Tobias murmured, “Changed locations. We should give this building an once-over anyways for any signs of foot-traffic, or any evidence that could help us track Witch Doctor.”
For example, the food-wrappers in the corner that glinted with sunlight, relatively devoid of dust or grime. Someone was here long enough to have a snack, and recently. Tobias took a moment to sweep the area with his gaze, for traps, for hints, for… anything really.
It was about that time that a womans’ scream cut through the air, from somewhere down below. Tobias tensed, the skin of his arm starting to burble and steam in response to the adrenaline that coursed down his spine.
“Someone’s still here! Somewhere below!” he spoke eagerly. His heart leapt into his throat as he searched for a way down—there, a stairway! “Over there! Come on.”
He’d let Maya take the lead, since that was their agreed-upon approach. But Tobias would be ready to leap to the pair’s defense should the situation call for it.
The two made their way down the darkened stairs, a pair of voices—a frantic female one, and coarse male one. And in Giovanni’s hands, a shotgun.
“Away from the door, away from the door,” Tobias muttered quickly, back-tracking up the stairs. While he could, potentially, withstand a gunshot while in lava-mode (which, if the steaming forearm was anything to go by, could be imminent) there was too much risk involved. The potential to hit something vital. The potential of hitting Maya, whose quirk Tobias didn’t totally understand. The potential of the bullet ricocheting and hitting either Nimue or Giovanni.
“Giovanni, this is the Informant, a friend of Nimue’s,” he was using her real name, gleaned from his employment at U.A. now, to try and talk this gun-toting idiot out of shooting, “I and an associate are here on the behalf of the Public Safety Commission! Please lower your rifle, and allow us in.”
He'd rather not engage in a brawl with a civilian, particularly one that was dating another Pro Hero.
"Remember, the Informant? I work at U.A. as the librarian?"
The pair would wait for some sort of verbal confirmation before proceeding.

Her face was full of fear as the real Giovanni stood in front of her. But she had just screamed, they would come and he was here, this was a mistake and she just looked at him, so scared they would hurt him too. "No-no you should go, don't get hurt, this was- this is dangerous." Please, please, she was pleading and praying silently, if this was her Giovanni, he had to go. Though her eyes remained blue as Iwayo fought with every bit in them to keep and protect her skin, she was crying, big tears dropped from her eyes on her cheek as she watched Giovanni. She did not want him to go, she didn't know what happened, how long it had been but she wanted to be with him. Her arms hurt, her wrist the most but her legs, they felt strangely numb. She did not like the gun, but she was glad he had it and nodded. She lifted up her hands again, as she had scared him away before as it hurt her, but she wanted to touch him, his free hand even, she wanted to know if it was him and she nodded, she was rather hurt by the gun and free than anyway else.
She held her breath when she heard a voice, she had not heard at first what was said. She didn't get it and frantic looked at Giovanni as someone still talked, "Who-whose that?" She said, crying now for real but trying to hold her breath to not make a sound, until she heard it... the informant? Tobias? Her lower lip trembled and she wanted to apologize to anyone involved for being such an idiot. "It's okay, it's okay, that's real." It had to be real right? Why would they use Tobias, they barely knew he existed, right? And besides, they did not know he was a librarian right? She tried to sit up better but that's when she heard the scraping on the floor and she abruptly stopped crying. The others must have heard it even better in the hallway, from the right corner came the sound, there was another hallway and another pair of stairs that the other could not see and Nimue only knew because as they had dragged her down, she had heard it, their steps. "I can't believe the idiots said that the pro-heroes were coming, bullshit if you ask me." Her blood turned cold, the scraping sound on the floor was the mace that the man dragged with him, he must be walking in his golden armour, "Boss I told you times before, if they know and left, why not us, who cares about her?" She wondered who that voice was but also indeed why the golden armour guy cared about her, was it because she still made him lose after the very first fight?
Nimue had not noticed yet that she was frozen and had started to shake for as far as she could and look at her hands, god no. Giovanni was here, what would they do to him? She felt like she couldn't even stand.

So many things going on. A frightened and scared Nimue, weeping. Soon he heard a voice, a male one claiming to be The Informant. Giovanni flinched a bit when he heard his own name. But he readied his gun at the door to shoot. The guy said he is on the behalf of the Public Safety Commission. But Giovanni didnt believe him "Oh yeah?! Well if you ask me, you could be a fake. A shapeshifter. So prove to me you're the real deal or I blow your brains out. And trust me, I wont miss!!" he threatened the Informant
Sure he remembers the Informant, but he doesnt know the guy. At best he heard about him from Hatsumomo as she spoke on phone with him. Giovanni hasnt met the guy "Also smart move dumbass. Trying to impersonate a guy no one knows about. Give us solid proof that you're you!" he demanded.
There is a possibility this was a Pro Hero, but he'd need Nimue to vouch for the guy, which she did and she said its real. Giovanni lowered his weapon, albeit begrudgingly "Ok then, if you're the real deal then go show me what you can do and quickly free her!" he ordered Tobias. Giovanni did quickly look around and was alert. He didnt like how this seemed easy. Too easy. This was not Plutocracy style. He was told they were tougher then this. Why kidnap someone and then just leave them? If Giovanni was in their shoes, he'd probably kill Nimue. If he was a Plutocracy guy. Luckily for the hero crew, he wasnt aligned with them. He was with Nimue.

You sure you can keep up with a woman like me~?
❝ We’re going to be here all day like this… The kind of girl who was always like a coiled spring, ready to strike at a moment’s notice, while Miss Murasaki felt sorry for Giovani and admired the manner in which he was trying to protect his girlfriend she wasn’t the most patient sort when the tension was high and the lives of her comrades were on the line, and as such she took full advantage of the fact that the brunette boyfriend seemed to be focusing on her buddy as she closed the distance between them to neutralize the threat she saw. Tobias not looking for a fight but in the eyes of the ebony enchantress such a thing seeming like it was inevitable, through a combination of her speediness and stealth the black beauty rushed the young man with the shotgun and lunged for the weapon in order to get it under her control and out of the face of her partner, and perhaps for the first time in this operation showed her true level of professionalism as she did so. “Believe us…” Not a resource of intel like the Informant was but a girl who had been fighting armed foes foe years and coming out the winner every time, as one of her hands gripped the barrel of her targets gun and pointed it skyward to take away it’s potential for damage the other latched onto the loving lad’s trigger hand to impede that as well, but she wasn’t done there. “…Or don’t!” Not wanting to risk the situation escalating and that why she had her heel ready to make the weapon and the would-be protector a non-issue in this little round of diplomacy, Maya unloaded a kick deep into the stomach of ‘Mr Romeo’ with enough force to knock the wind out of anyone, though was surprisingly controlled as she did so. “It doesn’t really matter!” More than capable of breaking the average person’s bones even if she used her phenomenal strength in a half-assed fashion, the pugilistic pro let loose a carefully measured quantity of strength designed to keep him quiet for a little while and get him away from the gun she gripped, and while it would probably would hurt for a few days afterward and maybe make him spill the contents of his stomach it wouldn’t be as deadly as what this dark delight was fully capable of. After all, he was just worried about his girlfriend and that was something Miss Murasaki could sympathize with, and enough to make her hold back that marvellous might from its full potential. For the time being, at least. “What matters is we’re currently in the belly of the beast, the proverbial lions de if you will…” Restrained but that usual rowdiness of the raven evident as she took the weapon which she had sought to pull away and put both hands around it, both her inherent strength and her attitude toward firearms in general was on full display as she used the beastly brawn she possessed to tear the gun apart with her bare hands, rending it into pieces quickly and stripping whatever bolts and pins that held it together into mere shards of metal as she did so. “… and personally I’d prefer to not be carrying Romeo and Juliet out of here with half the Yakuza hanging out of my sweet ass as I do it?!” Tossing what was left of the once so fearsome firearm onto the ground once she had done so, Maya shrugged and raised her brow at the boy she had so readily bested before slapping her hands onto her hips, and directing her attention toward their primary target. They were here to rescue a damsel in distress, after all, not argue over semantics with her boyfriend, right?

sworn to protect TOBIAS HEARD NIMUE CRY INSIDE, and something in his throat twinged. Contrary to the hard-ass attitude he usually boasted in his professional endeavors—research, missions, et cetera—he wasn’t totally without emotion. Hearing the terror in Nimue’s voice was absolutely heart-wrenching.
At least she was alive, though. Her kidnappers could have just as easily killed her and left her body behind for recovery. Tobias inhaled deeply, then exhaled, steadying himself.
And Giovanni, all the while, was being the fucking idiot. There really was no polite way to put it. “You could be a shapeshifter” and “Prove you’re the real deal.”
He’d literally given this gun-toting ass-hat information that only the Real Informant would know. Was he for real, right now? Thankfully, while Tobias quietly seethed, Ultraviolet took command of the situation.
Though Toby could have definitely handled direct gunfire, he would’ve burnt the building down, and all of their evidence down, in the process.
Tobias stayed tucked behind the wall as Ultraviolet charged-in, seizing the gun, taking a swing at the incensed Italian’s stomach. Tobias emerged moments later, regarding Giovanni from behind the darkened lenses of his sunglasses.
“You’re in no position to make such demands of me, Trapani-san,” Tobias retorted, his tone terse. As he reprimanded the enraged boyfriend, “A civilian, at an undisclosed criminal location, toting a gun, making demands of pro’s? Really? I have half a mind to arrest you for obstruction…”
The whole thing was suspicious. But also not their main focus, at the moment. Giovanni could be dealt with later.
"Thanks, Ultra. Masterfully handled."
Tobias knelt next to Nimue, pushing his sunglasses up from his eyes. It made the room a little blurry, without the prescription lenses there to help him, but he could see well enough. He wanted the captured pro to be able to see his eyes as he spoke.
“Hey, Witch Doctor, you here with us?” Tobias asked, the vitriol leaving his tone. In fact, he’d sounded calmer than he had all day. Gentle, even. He patted Witch Doctor’s cheek, trying to snag her attention. If they had the time, he’d check to see if she were in-shock, but he was more concerned with getting Nimue out of there, “It’s going to be alright, now. We’re here. I need you to listen closely to me, okay? We have a few options for how to do this…”
Pending her response, Tobias would continue speaking in low tones,
“If you think you can walk, I can melt the chains on the cuffs right here,” Tobias insisted, “Or one of us can carry you out. What would you prefer? Walk? Or carry?”
She was in miserable shape—with how listless she looked, perhaps in no condition to walk. Again, pending her response, Tobias would take action.
If Nimue asked to be freed from the cuffs, Tobias would let the lava welling beneath his skin flow, concentrating it near his fingertips before pinching the chain of the cuffs and snapping them.
If Nimue asked for Tobias to carry her, he would gingerly roll the woman onto her back, wrapping one arm behind her knees, and the other behind her shoulders, lifting her with relative ease.
Or, if Nimue asked to be carried by someone else, he would help her sit-up, asking her questions in a low tone of voice, to assess whether or not she was in-shock.

"Giovanni!" She said angry, yet high pitched and softly as she couldn't scream. Telling Tobias off, while he was the one more in danger while the heroes were here to safe her, really. This wasn't working and she heard the scraping of metal on the ground and she knew the guy in the golden armour must be coming around the corner and she would want to get out before. She cried, she wanted out and everything still felt like a dream turning into a nightmare. Her boyfriend should not be here, it was dangerous, how did she know they didn't take him and copied him as well, she was so afraid and it made only worse in the way she spoke. No, this must be Tobias coming to her rescue. She watched with big eyes the woman that showed up and screamed again. She had never seen Maya after all and she had no mind in realizing it was one of the new pro-heroes and she just stared and shivered and tried to get away.
Well at least it was Tobias, really? Right? He spoke out the rules, talked to the woman and she tried to calm down. But blood was racing through her and her blue eyes enormous with adrenaline and fear. Really, god please, she tried to focus, not sure if she was hallucinating. They never waited so long to pick her up. She lost it there and when Tobias came close it took her moments to focus and look at him before finally nodding. She swallowed and looked from one to another, before focusing back on the informant. "I don't think I can stand." She said softly, feeling embarrassed by the idea but her legs were still numb and she was sure that with the bruises and attacks on her legs she could not even walk very fast or long so she would be quite an obstacle for people. "They are coming, you have to get out." She pleaded, they should go, she should not get in their way and they shouldn't get hurt because of her. Seriously, get out.
It was the state of panic but she could hear the humming of the man and the dragging of the mace. Until it stopped, the sound must be quite close and he must have seen people in the hallway. She heard it, the static in the air, "His armour, it's electric." She tried to tell as the man stopped and called out to Ultraviolet and probably Giovanni that they weren't going to take his game away. She tried to push herself upright but only slumped down.

The wench kicked him into the stomach with enough force to knock the wind out of anyone, ESPECIALLY him. He was a Villain sure, but more a bureaucratic kind of villain, rather that a combat one. Giovanni didnt do combat much and that just contributed to him looking like a helpless civillian. So thus that kick, really did a kick to him! Not only that she destroyed his means of self defence! And that was his LEGAL weapon in Japan! Sure he had other weapons. But this was his legal property!! She really took the air out of him, he couldnt talk and not really stand up either. He needed breath. But his next action would not really help him catch a breath. He just sat down on the ground. Reached for his pocket and got his cigarette and light it up. He rested down and took a weak wiff of it and then he blew. It seemed like a harmless thing, but since the wench destroyed his gun. He needed to set up his Quirk should the need arrive to use it. Using a cigarette to smoke was the only way he could do it. Unless arson. That would give him plenty material to work with. Giovanni glanced back at the wench to hear the last part of her useless dribble "… and personally I’d prefer to not be carrying Romeo and Juliet out of here with half the Yakuza hanging out of my sweet ass as I do it?!" Thats when Nimue would find out her beloved boyfriend has a much more vulgar and crude side. "Fuck you, bitch. I'm not gonna let you carry me." he told her with all the anger and spite he can muster up as he also gave her the finger. He did also glare at The Informant, but for a brief second also towards Nimue when she called out to him in her angry voice. Why were they all up in his ass? He was being careful as careful can be. Nobody knew the Informants appearance and what he looked like. Plutocracy is like a plague or like a bunch of roaches, hiding under every rock they can find. They can find out what the Informant looks like and who knows what Quirks they have at their disposal. So excuse HIM for making sure thats him and not a mole. He looked at Informant and Ultra. He made sure to remember them, he's gonna make sure he can mount their heads on his wall. He'll thank them for this alright. By giving a pretty penny to whoever has their heads. If they werent in the proverbian lions den as the whore woman said, he would have killed them with his Quirk. Just watching the Informant patting Nimue's cheek, was enough to like glare daggers at him. Not eyes, daggers. Thats how much he hates these two upstart heroes.
Still even though his blood was boiling and he had unspeakable rage just hiding and wishing it can get out. He hears the Informant ask Nimue if she can walk. He can melt the chains of the cuffs. If need be, one can carry her. Nimue answered and said that she cant stand. Hearing Nimue, he did calm down a bit. Giovanni then spoke up in a calmer voice, more of a leader kind of voice, as if this was normal for him to Boss people around. "Listen up. You melt her cuffs, I carry her. You two being the heroes you are fight whoever is coming. Stall them while we get away" He slowly got up since he got a moment to recover from the wench's kick. And he slowly approached Nimue and waited the man to free her so Giovanni can hold her.

You sure you can keep up with a woman like me~?
❝ “Heheheheh, no problemo, senpai~” The almost reflexive response of the raven so natural that she felt almost surprised when her comrade seemed to compliment her for her intervention, this felt like the first time since Miss Murasaki had met Tobias that he seemed to show her even the smallest ounce of approval, and as such the cheeky young hero opted to bask in that fact. Grinning and adding a nice little vocal inflection as she stressed the fact that he was for all intents and purposes her senior in the hero business, she even went so far as to flash him a cheeky ‘V’ with her fingers for that added sense of spice, and hopefully amusement on his part. “Aw, don’t pout Romeo~” Unfortunately not everyone in the room seeming to show such high levels of approval for the act of the Asian amazon but that perhaps understandable when one of the people was the victim of what she had done, Maya met the wrath that the dutiful boyfriend spat at her with a grin and stifled the urge to chuckle at his words as well given how cute he seemed to look when he was angry, but was conscious of the fact that it probably wasn’t a good idea to get him any angrier than he was and settled for a winking little joke instead. “I like boys with fire in the belly but you need to use that on your enemies, not your friends, buddy~” Offering a hand to help him up as she explained that she had admired his resolve and had only attacked him because of the fact that it seemed the more expedient manner in which she could defuse the situation, she hoped that there would be no hard feelings between them because of what she did or at the very least he could tolerate her until the job was done, but ultimately found this fact unessential to their future prospects. If he played up too much, she would just knock him out and drag him out with their target, simple as. “Can’t help but see a bit of a flaw in that plan though, boss~” Shrugging and shaking her head when next it seemed like Giovanni seemed to want to take charge of the situation and sighing because of that, after poking fun at his domineering manner Miss Murasaki narrowed her eyes a little as she looked around their surroundings, and easily recognised the fact that the emerald haired enchantress seemed much more comfortable in the company of her comrade that her own. However, that wasn’t a surprise really, since thus far they had been strangers to one another. “If we’re both hanging back here having fun with these fools, who’s going to be covering your ass in case more come in the front door, eh?” Instead electing to show a little bit of her tactical prowess as she expressed her reservations about Prince Charming’s plan as she let her partner use his fine control to free the fair femme from her fetters, the words and overall panicked reaction of Nimue seemed to clue the black beauty into the fact that they would soon be a lot harder pressed for conversational time, and as such they needed to find a better exit strategy because of that. “I'll hold these guys back, while you get these guys outta here, OK?” Guessing from the way the green girl seemed to recoil from her that the redhead in her retinue would make a better escort for the frightened femme than she was, as their company for the night began to rear their ugly head Maya drew her blade and took a step between her own party and their would-be attackers, ready to react if need be. Honestly curious about the kind of enemy who had might enough to subdue one of the highest ranked heroes that Japan had to offer but the safety of civilian’s the priority for any good hero, while she might have wanted to let loose and pay a little back of the hurt that her fellow member of the sisterhood had suffered right now she had two rather large and easily exploitable ‘weak points’ to cover, and as such felt keen to get them on their way before their enemies had a chance to exploit that fact…

sworn to protect NIMUE WAS WORSE THAN TOBY HAD EXPECTED, screaming Giovanni’s name before devolving into tears. At least she had enough clarity of mind to confess that she couldn’t even stand, and insisting that someone was coming and everyone needed to leave. Tobias’s throat clenched miserably.
No—now was not the time to be soft. He needed to be strong. This was a mission.
“Hold still,” Tobias insisted, his epidermis finally beginning to split at his fingertips under the strain of containing the lava. As soon as it broke through once, more lava began to push through his pores, overtaking not one but both of his arms. The crimson gentleman gritted his teeth through the pain, pinching the chain of Nimue’s handcuffs between thumb and forefinger.
Under the heat and pressure of his hold, the chain grew blindingly bright, then snapped. Sure, the cuffs were still on, but with the chain snapped, Nimue would be able to move, even if she couldn’t stand.
“Trapani-san!” Tobias snapped, his usually cool exterior faltering By now, lava had overtaken his arms from the elbow-down. Something about even partial-eruptions made his temper flare, “If you cannot address Ultraviolet with respect, we will leave you here.”
His hazel eyes glittered furiously. Hopefully Ultraviolet would not call the bluff that he was about to make—for although Tobias had suggested they no rescue Giovanni, both knew it was still their duty to protect any civilian. Even a really fucking annoying one.
“It is not our mission to ensure your safety. Only Nimue’s.”
So there, you gun-toting Italian idiot.
Things simmered a bit. Giovanni spat directions, Ultraviolet took them in-stride, Tobias watched. The Informant merely nodded in agreement, the severe look never leaving his features.
Ultraviolet gave a fair, reasonable evaluation of the scene—if they both hung-back, Nimue’s safety would be compromised. And Giovanni’s too, Tobias supposed, though he was starting to care less and less for the nitwit. He grimaced a bit as the lava seeped further up his arms, catching the rolled sleeves of his shirt aflame. Even with regeneration, the pain was still mind-numbing.
“Agreed,” Tobias said simply. It would make Toby more comfortable if Maya took the lead-- that way if something happened to Giovanni and Nimue needed to be carried, there was someone to carry her who didn't have molten, scalding hands, but... time was of the essence. He turned his attention to Giovanni.
“Take Nimue,” the redhead insisted of Giovanni, his professionalism slipping once again. In the field, it was supposed to be “hero names” only, but calling Nimue by her real name felt… less clinical. More personal. It was a strategic move on the Informant’s part, “And stay close to me. My lava is short-range only, and you need to be where I can protect both of you. Look out for lava-drips. Try to walk as quietly as you can. Let’s go.”
With that, the Informant turned his back on the pair, approaching the doorway that led outside. All he needed to do was touch his hand to the knob before it melted beneath his molten touch. With a nudge, the door swung open, a gaping hole where the doorknob had once been.
He turned to make sure Giovanni and Nimue were behind him, before making steady progress up the stairs. Although there were (presumably) villains at their back, Tobias would move slowly up the stairs, listening as he ascended. It would be most ideal if they could avoid conflict altogether by using the element of surprise, but… if that were not an option, the magma sleeves that now coated Tobias’s arms would likely be a nasty surprise to anyone who crossed him.

She held up her hands when Tobias told her to hold still. First she held her breath and counted till five, before slowly letting it out and counting to seven, a break of three and again. She should hold on longer but she did not manage, she tried to not shake her wrists and not to hyperventilate. She was sure they were able to do something but the scraping of the mace on the ground gave her goosebumps and she wasn't sure what she should do with it. She did not want anyone to get hurt for her sake. She flinched a little when she heard Tobias low rumbling voice as if something scared her but she eyed one to another. She did not want to talk about it at this point, she did not want to consider what Giovanni said, why he was here and so on. They will talk about it later.
She was tired, it felt safe while it wasn't yet and she wanted to close her eyes and sleep. She was hungry, thirsty, bruised and sleepy but soon it would be over. She heard the scrapping of the metal over concrete again and her eyes quickly opened again and looked at Tobias. Trying to get up she did not know what to do, she missed the plan until she heard him say take Nimue and she looked at Giovanni. Please, save him, that was all that mattered to her at this point. She needed Giovanni's support to let him carry her, she did not know how he wanted to do that and just listened to suggestions of how the easiest way to carry her was considered. In the end, she would have to climb on his back and try to wrap her arms around him and he would hold her legs, though they felt fragile and without support, it seems to work. She did not have the energy to ask him to listen to Tobias, she was afraid and asked softly almost inaudible if they could please leave now.
"Where you think you are going little heroes?" She shivered when she heard the voice, hiding her face against Giovanni's back. The man in the golden armour came from behind them and would first counter Ultraviolet, he would swing his mace around and if no one attacked him by then he would try to throw his slow weapon at Ultraviolet to hit her with a static release as well as the weapon itself, it would be quite painful as Nimue encountered it several times, but she did not dare to watch now.

Giovanni gave a solid span, but the heroes rejected it. Couldnt they do the honourable thing and die for him holding back the hordes of enemies. He could handle anyone with Nim and whats best is that the heroes wouldnt see him killing. But no. "I mean I can handle people but fine whatever" he said, still sounding offended but still not as bad or as aggressive as before He then glared at the Informant, his hand was twitching. He glared at him and soon noticed his quirk. The man spoke how their mission is to save Nimue. God the urge to kill them just rose. He wished he can kill people. The man even dared to order HIM around!!! The nerve. Giovanni got Nimue and just went along with what the heroes wanted.
He was holding Nimue, suddenly he heard a new voice and looked at the bozo. He saw the person and felt Nimue hide. He thought about using his quirk to help Ultra avoid the attack. But instead, he let go of Nims leg for a moment to simple give them all a middle finger. Before holding her leg once more and leaving
"Muori! Muori. Fanculo a tutti voi. Non vedo l'ora di ucciderti. Vi odio tutti. Sei proprio come quei ragazzi a casa" Giovanni quietly spoke. Nimue would be able to overhear him. He went to take Nimue to safety. His heart was pounding and he felt as if he couldnt breathe. The cigarette in his mouth was not helping. But it was for his quirk. In case someone bypasses the heroes. He needed to act. He wasnt useless and he wasnt helpless. Nimue will realize that, right? He was capable of rescuing her. He was... He just didnt get to show it. And he wasnt allowed to. He felt as the anger stage was leaving him. He was calming down. But still he was upset. It just felt as if he was cursed. A failiure who cant do anything right. He cant even rescue his beloved one. The heroes just came in and just drop kicked him and ordered him around as if he was a pansy. They kick him, they disrespect him, they break his legal method of self defence, they tell him that they just came to save Nimue and care about her. Its just as if everyone and everything was hating him. Why? Why did this always happen where ever he would go. Even in Japan. He bet if his brother was here, he would've already saved Nimue and get her praise. He had the better quirk and was smarter and faster. Giovanni wasnt like that. "What is wrong with me?" he asked himself quietly

You sure you can keep up with a woman like me~?
❝ “Don’t worry guys, I’ll be right behind ya~” Waving the rest of her group on as it seemed their enemies had finally shown their ugly mugs, Maya beamed with excitement as she saw a bunch of enemies to face, and was keen to get her allies out of the way as well so that she could fight without restraint herself. Eyes focused on the fool that seemed to lead the group as soon as he reared his head into the room, it was easy for her to spot the man in charge of the operation from state of his appearance, but even if he wasn’t the lead attacker woman was ready. “WOWEEEE!!!! Jeez, that’s… You sure as shit like to be seen, huh?” Swiping out with kicks that packed far more power than the little ‘nudge’ she had given Giovanna in order to wind him should any lesser fools try and slip around her and try to follow after Tobias and the civilians, even as she did so Miss Murasaki couldn’t help but crow as she looked toward the head honcho of the pack, though not at all because she was impressed by what she saw waiting for her. Almost having to restrain herself from cackling like a madwoman as she took in that gaudy armour, the eyes of the young heroine bulged as she looked at how over the top the idiot looked not just because of how funny it was, but also she wanted to draw his attention toward her as well. “I mean damn, nothing says ‘look at me’ like golden armour huh? I suppose you’re not the sort of person who believes that discretion is the better form of valour, eh?” Focused on keeping this guy at bay so that she could ensure that her partner, Nimue and her lover boy would have plenty of chance to get ahead of him while she toyed with the token idiot in his gilded garb, the dark delight was more than happy to lean right into her more loud mouthed tendencies as she shook her head and gave the outfit a resounding thumbs down, but even as she chided him she did not drop her guard one little bit. Easy to see who she meant with ‘His Armour is Electric’ though… It easy to join the dots between the comment that the wounded pro had made earlier and the fool who seemed to march toward her, the ebony empress licked her lips and silently thanked her sempai for the note, as honestly had she not received it she would have gone about things so very differently. “Hahaha! Nearly, but not quite good enough for me there, doll face!” Usually the type who would blast someone in the face and ask questions later, that little word of caution was enough to stay the hand of the sable siren and switch her into a mode and mood that she usually took when confronted by something that pure brute force wasn’t enough for, as she found the heavy head of a club or something similar whipping toward her Maya chose not to rush her response, and instead exploited her inherent agility and trained speed to take her own advantages in this battle. Light on her feet and likely far faster than anything such a heavy hurl could catch with any ease, the combination of honed reflexes and acrobatic training allowed the plucky purple pro to launch herself backward and vault off one hand, flipping herself out of the path of any attack as her violet vision narrowed and she found herself fighting just as much against her own instincts as anything else. Such a pain, I wanna smash this ass in the face right now! I hate the long game… I want my win now! The impulse of such a hot spirited heroine first falling toward the matter of reprisal for the hit and that something which she had to consciously restrain, as Miss Murasaki turned herself over and then returned to her feet she felt a tremendous rush inside her to throw herself right at this fool, but was glad for the discipline that had been honed in many hours of training in dojo’s and gym halls when she saw what happened next. “I dunno, if you ask me, definitely feels like you’re coming on bit too strong~” Catching the way that the gaudy armour of her nameless seemed to crackle with energy and rather happy that she hadn’t been swinging her fist, foot or even the steely sword she carried at that when she did so, after letting out a breath to calm herself the provocative pugilist once again let loose a cool line and even a wink, just begging the bugger to lose his temper and tire himself out trying to catch her…

sworn to protect TOBIAS HAD SEEN THE LOOK in Nimue’s eyes, in the eyes of countless victims before her. Victims of kidnapping, abuse, all sorts of horrible crimes, all wore that same, jarred expression—that same fear. It always twisted his stomach—but it was worse when that look was in the eyes of someone you knew. Nimue was little more than a professional colleague, but—he cared about her. Enough to want to see that she was safe. With the arrival of the villain, Tobias kept his steady, unconcerned pace, deliberately taking his time and scoping his surroundings.
He trusted Ultraviolet to do what she’d been brought to do—act as the muscle that ensured the success of the mission. Tobias, meanwhile, had to uphold his end of the bargain—be the eyes and ears.
And, even if Giovanni Trapani was, in the eyes of the investigator, an absolute fucking idiot, he didn’t want to see any harm come to Nimue’s boyfriend either. Tobias wondered what she saw in him, perhaps, but no one deserved to suffer at the hands of a villain—even men with more machismo than brains.
Thankfully, even with the arrival of the villain, Giovanni complied. At least he understood the urgency of getting out of there over exacting his revenge.
At the top of the stairs, Tobias leaned against the door, gaze sweeping the room through the miniscule window, before he pushed the industrial grade door open with his shoulder. His hand melted the handle slightly, warping the lock to the point where it would be unusable. A way out—a potential escape route—for Jessie.
“It’s clear,” he reported, “Come on. Careful of the handle.”
Giovanni was muttering to himself, but his remarks were unintelligible to the man at the front of the group. The sounds of the ensuing brawl, punctuated by Ultraviolet’s quips, faded as Toby stepped into the upstairs room, surveying catwalks and immediate surroundings for movement. He stood a few meters from the door, waiting for Giovanni and Nimue to emerge, before continuing.

She hid, she had to count on everyone else as she had no power, no nothing with her. She wouldn't be able to stand and although her boyfriend's muscles felt tense, she did not dare to see what was going on. She flinched, pushed up her shoulders every time she heard the mace crash down on the ground. She shivered and tried again to count the amount of time she needed to breathe and avoid hyperventilating. She would focus on the steps Giovanni made on the ground, she thought Tobias was near them too but she did not want to look yet, she said nothing. She held her breath, had a moment of quick breathing to try and hear what Ultra would say but her ears were rushing and she couldn't hear it, so she did nothing and she said nothing, again counting, softly and under her breath to not make too much noise but she needed to say it out loud as not to be distracted by anything else that was going on. She peeked up when she heard Tobias and looked a little over Giovanni's shoulder to see what was going on. But as her eyes met sunlight, which was much brighter than the light inside had been she quickly buried her face again and shut her eyes firmly. She would have to get used to it, but in the daylight, it was obvious how bad she looked. Her hair was a mess and missed parts, her pale skin was dirty and bruised and she had clearly been hurt a lot when you noticed the dry blood and the look of her legs and arms. Nimue herself did not want to see it, she had not looked at it ever since her first fight down below in this strange house or building, so she did not plan to do now either.
The man in the golden armour would try to keep on hitting Maya, but that was obviously not easy and he grumbled because she had been obvious aware that the armour was electric. His quirk was absolutely perfect for torture, where they took the victim to the metal cage but not in this hallway where nothing guided his electricity. His attacks became quicker but therefore he missed more, it looked like he was more destroying the walls to stop her from getting a way out, he did not want the heroes to escape, he would take another one hostage in that case.

There was sound of battle and of mace crashing. But he had no idea what was going on behind him. For all he knew, that mace could be crushing a hero's ribs. But he didnt dwell on that, he rushed to freedom as he carried Nimue. His adrenaline has numbed the pain his felt where he was kicked. He expected a bruise there. He was not the athletic type to handle that. He didnt have abs of steel.
He ran, ran and ran. And eventually got out. There was the Sun of freedom. The bright light of the Sun has shone of Nimue's face, probably hurting her sensitive eyes. She quickly shut her eyes and buried her face in his chest. He just looked at her. She had her hair messed up and it even missed parts, her skin was dirty and bruised. There was dry blood and... and... he looked away. It was painful to look, painful to imagine the pain she went through
"You're safe now. I'll protect you" he quietly spoke to her. He tried to reassure her she was safe. He looked around if the perimiter was clear, so he can drive her to a hospital. And if the coast was clear, he'd attempt to leave with her, while the heroes would wrap up the fight and arrest people
