A sea of flames and fighting vanished after the last bit of commentary. A young woman sat behind a small desk, her face serene despite the frightfulness of the situation. She took a single steadying breath, the only hint that the visuals were having an effect on her. She drew a strand of hair over her ear and began to speak.
"Welcome to the Tokyo NNN, I'm Kobayashi Naikiri," Her name appeared beneath her as she eyed the camera. "We have just recieved word that a representative of the government of Barbados, Narcissa King, had been invited to the Fuchu Supermax Prison this evening to tour it on behalf of her government. Reports indicate that the ambassador is still inside the facility and may have been taken hostage... no word yet from the PSC on the developing situation..."
The tv flickered and died, the gentle music accompanying the TNNN Report giving way to allow the helicopter blades above to be better heard. Static crackled, and a rough voice came in through a radio frequency; "This is PSC Agent Sai. You guys are about two minutes out from Fuchu. There's been a break in the fighting around the immediate vicinity of the prison. Now's your chance. Ambassador King was invited as a friend of one of the lead contractors that was about to begin work on updating the prison. There's a lot riding on her safety. Show Miss King that Japan's Hero Program is more than a faulty security system, Agent Sai out," The radio fell silent. A bit of turbulence prevented any amount of relaxation. This was not going to be easy.
The landing zone would be a small playground two blocks from the main prison facility. Beyond that, the largest prison in Japan would be waiting. It's walls cracked and scored with fire and the wrath of a thousand angry quirkers. The loading gates are the closest entrance to you, a pair of torn metal gates hanging limply in an open docking bay capable of holding four sixteen-wheelers. A small number of prisoners eager to turn the prison itself into their own fortress have attempted to fortify it with what little equipment they have. Deeper inside, narrow hallways and far more violent felons await you...
Deep inside the facility, in the security room. Narcissa King finds herself tied to a chair. She'd been able to briefly make her way out after parting ways with Crowley only to be dragged back in by a man who was unaware of her real ties. Now, she stands face to face with a thin man with salt and pepper hair, clean shaven and beady, twinkling blue eyes. He sneers at her through scarred lips that reveal rows of razor sharp teeth. He shoves his hands in his pockets; "Tee vee says yer too valuable to kill. Lessee who you bring in, aye? I gotta get m'strength up, after all. Got a date wiff me old boss..." The other prisoners have been reverently referring to him as "Charybdis" and one mentioned he was a man-eater of sorts.

Seriously it had all gone so perfect, Narcissa had gone outside with Crowley and had been let go and the moment she thought it was over. The moment she could disappear in the camouflage of her quirk, she was grabbed from behind and dragged back into the prison. She could not say anything as her mouth was covered and besides, at that point, she knew that her "at that point" partner in crime only had eyes for his loved one. Now technically she wasn't mad at Crowley as they were normally not into working together so he did not exactly betray her but why did no one ever care what happened to Narcissa. The heck where were the guards? Where was the police? Did anyone care about Narcissa at all? This was a disaster for sure. If she had the ability to speak she would still not have dared to reveal her true colours. The thing is that she did not know if there was someone of a guard around as well as the fact that she was neither sure if this person would even believe her.
Narcissa still could not say much, they had thrown her on a chair, taped her together and that was it. She found this man too big and too stupid so she wasn't going to say much. But now what, she gave a polite smile and wanted to strangle this guy. Surely she could look like the chair and the background but the tape was in her way, ugh this was not going to work and it made her made. She wasn't supposed to be the freaking damsel in distress! She would just sit quiet and look as if she wasn't doing anything while she was rubbing her hands together to try and get that tape off. How long would it take to set up a rescue mission? Because she clearly should wait on that and not use her quirk, they probably knew she had a quirk but they never asked her and she wasn't even sure if her parents had provided the information that miss King had a quirk and was the previous pro-hero. Oh great... it were the pro heroes that were going to save her was it not? She had no time for this sort of nonsense! She would get out herself, alright she just needed to find a way how to forget those high and stupid people! "Can I pay you to let me out?" Seriously if he wanted money, she had it herself.

[nospaces] [attr="class","believeBG"] [attr="class","believeHead"] [attr="class","believeIcon"] [attr="class","believeBody"] When she was first told of the mission she'd would be taking charge of Jessie was absolutely stunned to say the least. Wasn't there any other more experienced Pro that they would prefer over her? After all, she'd only been in this line of work for a little over a month and so far hadn't really dealt with anything too important. She had worked with Witch Doctor, but in that case, it was more because of her quirk and connection to the spiritual world that she took priority of her more experienced coworkers. This was a completely different circumstance and having heard the radio give the final details of their arrival Jessie made an attempt to reassure the two that were accompanying her. Luckily for her being able to speak directly into their minds meant that the turbulence of the helicopter and loud sounds of the blades whirling through the air were negligible.[break][break] "Are you two absolutely sure you want to do this? We have time before we land and I know you both mentioned that you wanted some practical experience. If it wasn't already clear this is most likely going to be pretty dangerous and we're all putting our lives on the line here." she paused to get a read on the two to see if there was anything else she could possibly do to make the decision easier. "You don't need to tell me now if that helps. once we land if you decide you don't want to do this I'll call an escort to bring either one of you or both of you back home."[break][break]Jessie was wearing a more covert version of her normal hero outfit as the mission at hand would have them acting much more stealthy than she normally would. This being the case she did tell the girls that they could bring the hero costumes and that in Yumi's case it wasn't really an option. She was certain the girls might have been at least slightly nervous as even Jessie was a little intimidated by the task at hand, but she knew that as a guardian/teacher she would need to keep these two from getting hurt at all costs. The helicopter would slowly make it's descent as Jessie did the last of her preparation by clipping both her swords to each hip before they would get the go-ahead to exit the craft and both Yumi and Tetsuko would have a final chance to back out of the mission even though having gotten to know the two of them she guessed they wouldn't back down from the challenge. ulla [newclass=.believeBG]background-color:#fff;width:400px;padding-bottom:20px;border-radius:10px;box-shadow:#ccc 4px 4px 5px;[/newclass] [newclass=.believeHead]background-image:url(https://i.imgur.com/qzPafLN.png?1);background-position:center center;border-radius:10px 10px 0 0;height:175px;-webkit-clip-path: polygon(0 0, 100% 0, 100% 100%, 0 75%);clip-path: polygon(0 0, 100% 0, 100% 100%, 0 75%);[/newclass] [newclass=.believeIcon]-webkit-transform:rotate(-39deg);float:left;margin-top:-70px;margin-left:50px;border:#fff 5px solid;background-color:#fff;[/newclass] [newclass=.believeIcon IMG]width:65px;[/newclass] [newclass=.believeBody]padding:20px 40px;font-family:arial;font-size:10px;text-align:justify;color:#3a3a3a;line-height:12px;[/newclass] [newclass=.believeBody b]color:#ab8ed1;font-family:varela round;[/newclass] [newclass=.believeBody i]color:#888;[/newclass] [newclass=.believeButton]background-image:url(https://i.pinimg.com/originals/49/98/9e/49989e61e44b15452f882ce5f8ba1af6.gif);background-position:center center;-webkit-filter:grayscale(60%);height:40px;width:80%;border-radius:80px;box-shadow:#ccc 1px 1px 3px;color:#fff;line-height:40px;font-family:trebuchet ms;font-size:10px;text-transform:uppercase;[/newclass] [newclass=.believeButton a]color:#fff!important;font-weight:400!important;[/newclass] [googlefont=Varela Round]

Being dropped right into the middle of a prison outbreak… this admittedly wasn’t how Yumi was expecting her day to go when she woke up this morning. She was a little nervous, a little excited, but otherwise surprisingly level headed despite the paranoia she could typically suffer from. She readied herself against one of the hand-holds near the door of their vehicle, dressed in her ‘spring’ edition of her hero costume, her goggles resting further up on her face for a moment while she didn’t need them, not exactly wanting the shaded vision when she didn’t have the bright light of her own quirk to off-set it. “Don’t worry. We all know what we’re signing up for I’m sure.” She bowed her head in a brief nod, looking back to Tetsuko and their mentor. She found it mildly interesting they’d both ended up signing up under the same hero, and given the important role they had to play today she was eager to see how they could work in the field together. Honestly if they played it right, there’s a lot of stuff they could probably do together… but today they’d more be working on instinct. They weren’t classmates afterall, so they didn’t have any pre-planned combos to work from. “Just as a reminder, Code Name is Curved Lightning when we’re out on the field. I er… know some people don’t care for the protocol but it’s gonna be dangerous out there, so I just wanna make sure we’re playing to the book.” As they got closer to coming down, she adjusted her goggles over her eyes, tapping a button on the side that hooked a small piece of the equipment about her ear. “And we all got our comms on the right channel, yeah?” Once they made any last minute checks on that front they’d start disembarking from the vehicle. The moment Yumi’s feet touched the ground, she’d tense her muscles, the peachy color of her skin and the vibrant red of her hair overcame with a bright blue as her electrical energy coated her body, the refining elements of her costume helping her keep a charge as ever, and her goggles helping prevent any further eye damage from the bright light such energy produced. It wasn’t enough to irritate the eyes of her companions of course, She just had to deal with it daily so precautions were taken. “Ready when you guys are…”

Post by Tetsuko Shindou on Jun 9, 2020 10:18:26 GMT -4
The Shindou girl prepared for this critical mission in much the same way she prepared herself for a spar or a strenuous training session. Although the stakes were higher, the tools at her disposal were much the same. So it only made sense to her that she hone the most important weapon she had. As they waited to rush straight into the belly of the beast, Tetsuko was engaging in very purposeful and considered breathing.
She needed to feel the air in her lungs, the life in her blood, if she was to properly use the iron in her heart.
Clad in her Shinsengumi-themed attire, Tetsuko was doing her best to focus and quiet her mind in preparation for the conflict they were sure to encounter. There was little excitement in her mind, however. Instead, she recalled something her Great Grandfather had once said; that the best mindset before a fight was 4 parts determination and 1 part fear. Tetsuko felt quite close to that optimal ratio right about now.
The determination to do this well, and the fear of failure and harm; both would motivate her to do her best.
"My feelings are the same." Tetsuko would respond to Umeboshi's warning and Yumi's dismissal of it. Like her peer, she had no intentions of running away from this. She was not only a 3rd year, but someone who had found herself receiving no small amount of trust and faith from her schoolmates and teachers... It would be utterly shameful if she could not prove herself here. "Similarly, mine is Steelheart." The swordswoman added as an aside, adjusting her own communications equipment before they disembarked.
Like her peer, Tetsuko prepared for any engagement, noting that they'd likely be aiming for a stealthier approach and potentially be fighting in cramped conditions. With this in mind, she quickly decided which one of her weapons would be most appropriate.
'Come, Snowflower...'
From her right hand, iron flowed out, forming a Japanese-style shortsword that would be her starting tool for this mission. Long enough to be a threat, short enough to manage in close quarters, and quick enough to strike true with the element of surprise. The Shindou girl then looked to their mentor, nodding firmly as she awaited orders.
"I'm ready to go, Umeboshi-sensei."

Charybdis lingered in front of miss King for a moment, his eyes glittering with a twisted sort of madness. He tilted his head and sniffed, glancing up past her towards someone who stepped into the room behind her. He tapped the tip of his shoe on the floor and laughed; "Can you pay me? This ain't about MONEY HONEY!" He snickered, flicking his teeth. "This is about sommat else, don'tcha get it? I need power, real power, if I'm gonna kill that son of a bitch that sold me and my boys out," He drew in closer, "So we let it leak that you're still here... heroes are coming sweet thing, and I'm gonna eat my fill..." He laughed and then stiffened when another person walked into the room. He stood up straight and adjusted his prison gear as if it was a suit.
"Who's this?"
A voice came behind him; "A spy boss, think they're PSC,"
"And he ain't dead yet?" Charybdis snarled.
"I uh..." The man stammered.
Another voice came, this one weak... "...uhgh... Riven?"
"I SAID KILL 'EM!" Charibdys cried; "And smash his goddamn gear! Idiot!"
--
The hallways stretched out before you, lights cracked and smashed in places but the lighting was otherwise consistent throughout. Most of the criminals had fled with only a few remaining behind for one reason or another. Some cells still have criminals inside, not wanting to leave the prison out of some self-ascribed justice or another. Yet the first group of dangerous individuals could be found at the first annex as the route takes the group down the hall. Four men carrying various improvised weapons and bearing a mixture of weak emitter quirks and a single mutation quirk of a shark head. The lot of them looked more scared than anything else.
Their operator nodded to them as the helicopter blades slowed just a bit for them to step off. "Good luck out there! And-... hold it!" He paused, tapping his ear. "We got info! Villain leading the hostage situation is some guy named Riven. We're gonna start gathering info, try to avoid engaging right away if you can." He called over the radios in their ears. "Good luck!"

Great. Not only being stuck in this place because they thought she was worth the time and money, but they were also insane. She kept a scowl on her face and just looked at him waiting for his stupid reaction. Crazy meant she probably couldn't buy her way out, it would have been the less humiliating way. It pissed her off so much that no one cared she was here if anyone was going to talk about miss King being captured or laugh about Daffodil being stuck in her own issue... Ugh, she wished she could just use her power but the dangers for showing it off were too big and besides, she wasn't sure if she could pull herself out of the tape, what was walking around with a chair going to be like? She pulled her face away as she felt like his glance was annoying and she tried to see who got in behind her but she also had a flinch reaction to the sudden yelling. Right, the list with positive thoughts were now very welcome. The only thing she could imagine was that at least they would be convinced of her innocence now. That had been something she struggled with, Crowley being her partner from Barbados had been a dangerous play but it had been her own idea and now she was stuck, in the prison. Why did no one care how she was doing hm? She raised her eyebrow when this shit thing started talking. So... tempting. "And who is that son of a bitch?" She said with obvious irritation in her face, "Because I doubt the shit person cares about me, so what's the point hm?" Wait... that meant she might be killed, no wait, if he was crazy maybe he would fall for her sudden disappearance. Wait, she felt her nose go up and the corner of her lips go down, eat his fill? "Okay, and then what?" She tried to look over her shoulder when she heard footsteps.
The PSC? What? Well kill him, one less person to deal with, she tried to see who it was. Ugh, how did the pleading for freedom go? It was a mask she needed to put up, should she start crying already, so her eyes looked red and puffy if the heroes came. She almost soundlessly took a deep breath through her nose and tried to breathe out softly from her mouth. Heroes were probably smarter than this dumb ass. Ugh where was Hackerman or Ishtar... worse where was Crowley... he probably thought she sneaked off. She tried to wiggle her wrists but damn tight, she just needed a little more space to get out.

Proud of the resolve her two students had towards this situation Jessie smiled to herself as she truly hadn't expected them to back down given what she knew about them. Regardless it was her job to keep them safe and if this was what they wanted to do she would be sure to try her best to protect them. Heck, even she knew that in a lot of different ways the two were actually stronger than she was so perhaps the question was whether she could even keep up? As the helicopter descended she refocused on the task at hand and spoke to both of them at the same time "Good to hear it! I would like to do this with the least amount of confrontation possible. I don't know the backstory of all the prisoners but no use of lethal force if you can help it. I understand that may not be possible but...We'll try!" she tried to pepper in some positivity at the end as she didn't want to focus on what might be inevitable given the type of job they had to do. [break][break]As the helicopter positioned itself for the group to depart Jessie's ears perked up as they were given more information over the comms. "Riven gotcha! We'll rendezvous at the pick-up spot when we free the hostage" giving a thumbs up she hopped off and gestured for the girls to follow her. As they moved on they would come to their point of entry which was a solid metal door that even with the damage of the breakout stood strong "Steelheart if you would? Carefully we don't want to alert anyone just yet." she took a few steps back to allow Tetsuko to get them through the door and once inside her aura flared up as she concentrated on scanning the area for anyone living. A thin purple veil surrounded her and her companions as it spread outwards inching over every crack and crevice in the radius. Almost immediately as it touched the 4 men farther down the hallway did Jessie release this and relay this information to the two girls. "Seems like we have four people down that way. I'm going to go in there to see if I can talk to them but I'll need you guys to follow close behind...and Yu- Curved Lightning?" she placed a hand on her shoulder to reassure her "If things get out of hand you'll need to zap them with enough juice to put them out of commission. Remember our training I know you can do this" without pause she moved down the hallway before taking the corner to greet the prisoners all the while giving Yumi and Tetsuko a signal to stay out of sight for the time being.[break][break]"I don't want to hurt you. I'm Umeboshi a Pro Hero and all I want to do is get you guys out of here without getting hurt. I don't know why you're in prison and frankly, it doesn't matter, but I need you all to cooperate." she kept her distance but was slowly approaching the group hopeful that they would at least be willing to listen to her and wouldn't immediately get aggressive.

As the helicopter came down Yumi jumped off a little prematurely, catching herself with her electrical flight method, hovering safely down to the ground and waiting for the others to catch up, constantly on full charge now and making sure she was always ready to go given the dangerous situation they found themselves in. From experience Umeboshi was bound to be a good, inventive leader for the tense situations they may find themselves in, but that meant more than ever that Yumi had to be on her toes, ready to take action at a moment's notice to help them all along through this tough fight ahead of them.
"Riven huh? Can't say I've come across it but I guess some people here have been in prison since before we even considered becoming heroes huh?" It was a possibility but not one they really had time to debate of course. Beside, prior information or not they had a job to do and if there was anything relevant about this Riven fellow they were bound to be filled in by their support. Yumi came in behind Steelheart and Umeboshi, letting them both lead the way into the base and watching as Steelheart likely carved them a way into the prison, nodding to Umeboshi's warning to Yumi that she may need to knock some people unconscious.
"Don't worry sensei. With my costume I have nearly perfect control over my electricity. I'm sure Te-" She caught herself much like their hero mentor. "Steelheart will be able to attest to that." She flashed the girl with her a brief smile without taking her eyes off her environment for too long, trying to referance the experiences they'd had in the exhibition festival tournament. "I'm ready whatever comes." Even as they approached the potential fugitives, Yumi didn't seem too on edge. She may not have had the most field work experience but she was confident in her capabilities, remaining behind Umeboshi so she could be a calm face to their approach, but also clearly ready to fire at a moment's notice.
