APPEARANCE AND PERSONALITY
Appearance:
Tiny and thin, it becomes clear that any concentrated hit could snap Usagi Ojiro in half upon looking at her. Of course, that does require that her enemies catch her first, and by basis of her strong legs and agile feet, she would never be caught so unaware. Of course, what does become immediately obvious is that Usagi is affected by a mutation quirk, for her tall, always alert ears propel her height and her fluffy white tail always twitches when she is nervous. Also strange is the fact that she uses her hair not only as a physical asset, but also as something to hide that which could hint to her past. Her hair is long and white, and she has strategically cut her bangs so that they cover the entire left half of her face. Were someone to catch a glimpse of what was under these bangs, they would find no crimson eye, but rather a dark chasm and intense scarring where her left eye used to be. Nonetheless, her hair is straight, long, and silky, and soft to the touch, while her remaining eye is a sharp red color and always afflicted by an intelligent sparkle. No matter what, Usagi is always looking for a weak point, and she is never afraid to manipulate said weak points.

Personality:
With a steel trap for a mind, it's not hard to imagine that Usagi Ojiro might be at the top of her class if she actually cared all that much about her studies. Cunning, sharp, and devious, Usagi has a mind built for strategy, and she is always thinking ten steps ahead of everyone else. She sees her daily life as another round at the gambling table—she's always watching for everyone's tells, always searching for more information, and never satisfied with the bare minimum of education. Even despite her cunning, sly nature, Usagi does have a few traits suitable for one engaged in heroics—she never gives up, is always eager to help someone in need, and is more than ready to jump into any situation should it call for her special expertise. Although Usagi would never let it be known that she does care for those around her so desperately, it can be inferred by her kind actions that she masks as the complete opposite.
Unfortunately, even despite her innately kind nature, Usagi is hard to get close to. She holds her personal information close to herself and will never tell the same story twice, even refusing to enlighten others on where she came from or the events that brought her to U.A. in the first place. Not only that, but her personality can be abrasive and blunt, and she has never put any of her thoughts through a filter before saying it. She is frequently making jokes in bad taste, and can sometimes willfully ignore things and information about the world just so she can go through life without a worry or care. Beneath it all she can get inordinately angry and struggles to keep her temper in check, and will always push those away who try to get closer to her because she has deemed herself as a 'dangerous delinquent'. Although anyone can say they are friends with Usagi, no one can say that they have ever heard anything about her beside her name, and Usagi prefers to keep it that way.

HISTORY
Born to a family of quirk users entrenched in poverty due to a history of oppression, the young Usagi Ojiro quickly understood what it meant to be an outsider. Enrolled in a rich school with a high tuition rate in an earnest attempt to propel the Ojiro family out of poverty, Usagi was constantly surrounded by people who never knew what it meant to chose between paying the water bill or getting food for the week. Where Usagi whined to her parents that she was constantly teased for having holes in her clothes or having stains on her uniforms, her parents merely shrugged and told her it was the way of the world. Perhaps when she got older and got a good job, she would no longer be teased. However, Usagi wouldn't stand for this. She wouldn't lay low just because she wasn't born quite as privileged as those around her.
Usagi found her true calling in the casinos when she got older. While it was obviously illegal for a child to go into the legalized casinos in Japan, there were always holes in the wall operated by the local gangs who didn't care how old she was as long as she was putting money in their pockets. Picking up many of the unsavory games as quickly as a steel trap, Usagi easily learned how to read the faces of her opponents and pick up on all of their tells. It was within a few months that she became known as the 'white rabbit' of the illegal gambling parlors, for her skill in these games of pure chance was incredible for someone of such a young age. Of course, Usagi never let her age be known anyways, often lying that she was over twenty and explaining her height away as a side-effect of her mutation quirk. For a while, she was believed. Up until she wasn't.
Finally, one night, a group of men from the Yakuza who had lost their money to Usagi returned in the dead of night to settle their scores with her, accusing her of cheating. Cornering her in a dark alleyway, the men held Usagi down by her shoulders and tore her left eye out with a rusty switchblade, then tossed it into the darkness. They left her bleeding in the alleyway, and left with one warning: 'cheat us again and we'll take your other eye'.
When Usagi finally mustered up the strength to rise, she returned to her home in the slums. She was taken to the hospital immediately, and when she woke up from her emergency surgery, her parents grilled her on exactly what happened to her. Breaking down in front of them, Usagi finally told them all about what she had been doing behind their backs. When asked why she resorted to such an unsavory hobby, Usagi responded that she didn't want to wait to get out of poverty like they did, and that she wanted to take matters into her own hands. Unable to look their own daughter in the eye, Usagi's parents stopped visiting her in the hospital. When Usagi was finally discharged from the hospital, her parents promptly disowned her. They could never let a girl with such a reputation in their house ever again.
Left alone on the streets and slums of Japan with nothing but a deck of cards and her own hands, Usagi had to make a living for herself alone. Although she was tempted to return to the gambling tables to make enough money to support herself, she found grace in the sad eyes of an old man who also lived on the streets. A street magician named Takayuki Taniguchi, he took her under his wing and taught her the tricks and tips of the trade. Within a few months, Usagi came to realize that another part of herself was manifesting. She could move her card deck with her mind, and she could fling the cards at high speeds with enough concentration. Amazed by this talent, Takayuki began touting her about the streets as his apt assistant, and gave her half of the cut they made together. Finally, it seemed like some part of her life was looking up.
Prospects only looked brighter when she realized that hero schools were beginning to open up around the country, news broadcast to her on one of the many streets where she performed. Suddenly, an idea came into her mind. Not only would going through a hero course of a popular school and coming out of it as a professional hero make her more money than street performances, there was also a high chance that she could be televised and become a national sensation. There would be no worse shock to her parents than them discovering their good-for-nothing daughter had propelled herself above their station without their help. Perhaps they would regret putting her on the streets. Perhaps they would love her again.
With the combined cash they saved up between them, Takayuki helped Usagi apply to U.A. High School under the agreement that she would give him a cut of the money she might earn as a potential hero. Hugging him for the last time and heading off to Musutafu on the train station, Usagi felt determination surge through her again. She would never let anyone think so badly of her ever again. She would go above and beyond their expectations, Plus Ultra.
