CAITLYN, ARMY OF ONE ■ 246 WORDS ■ "I wanted to be forgotten." ■
She stood outside, her hands all nervously fidgeting over each other. Spiders crawled in and out of her shirt, and between her hair. As she stood restless, so were they. Her lavender skin pale, with the absence of sunlight from her daily routine. She sighed, fixing her dress over and over. Readjusting her ribbon around her neck again and again. She dusted away her clean pants, as if they were covered in dirt. She couldn't stop herself. Once she finished, she would stand still for a moment, only to repeat again.
She stood, looking at her phone, only to relax and rest her back against the building. It didn't feel right to walk in, even if she was allowed to. She didn't want to be noticed. She took a few steps to the side, until she was almost completely off the walkway. She scrolled through her apps, before sending a text to Mia, letting her know she was outside... for the fourth time. She would close the app only to open a game, one that kept her sane. She scrolled through the options, only to pick her team of heroes to fight whatever demons it was. It was a pretty far fetched concept, but since she had gotten the character she wanted, she was pleased.
"C'mon Yukirochisu, we can win the tournament tonight." and so her grinding would begin, until she would have a maxed level hero to play online ranked... and probably lose again.

Mia received her third text moments ago. She was just getting finished up with her papers for the day cause she knew as well as anyone if she took this shit home she wasn’t gonna do it there. With her hero costume stuffed in her duffel bag and dressed in her casuals for the walk home, she was just packing everything back up in her desk when she caught the sound of her phone going off again, shifting back from the… undersized furniture, for her at least, and looking to her phone as Cait texted her once again.
‘Papers done. On my way’.
Was she always so…what’s the word? Not clingy, they weren’t a couple or anything, Whatever. Mia wasn’t exactly in a position to judge what with all the shit she was going through lately herself. Wearing a plaid open shirt, a white tank top and some scuffed up cargo pants, she’d start making her way to the door, waving to Serperior in his own office on the way out, and getting out to the front of campus as quickly as she could without putting too much rush into her step, looking about until she spotted the usual multi-armed form of an old buddy of hers.
“Heeeeey spindly.” She teased, trying to pick a ‘spider esque’ nickname for the friend she hadn’t seen in so long. “Where ya been? Government didn’t give us much info when you up and disappeared…”

CAITLYN, ARMY OF ONE ■ 413 WORDS ■ "The itsy bitsy spider..." ■ For a spider, she was pretty antsy. She hated waiting, and more so since her return. None of it felt right. It was a bad case of impostor syndrome, only that it always lingered over her. Only that now, it was as bad as it could get. The only way it would be worse, was to quit her job as a hero. But she knew, even the few that looked up to her would be worse off if she truly gave up. She was forced into a life she didn't feel welcomed. And it would spiral.
She saw the window open on her screen, the message from reply. She had almost forgot the reason she had been waiting for. She shuffled the phone back into her pockets, and in just a few seconds, resumed back to fidgeting with herself. She dusted her clean clothes and pushed hair that was already tucked behind her. "Itsy is fine." she would say, the words coming out fast, almost a mumble.
"I well..." Right. She didn't tell anyone anything. She just up and left. Did anyone really notice though? Mia did, that said a lot. The number one hero in Japan was curious to where little Caitlyn had vanished off to. Did she care? Or was it just a courtesy for her role as the symbol of peace? She furrowed her brows before realizing the silence that fell upon her. "I went back home to..." She could feel the memory, just a figment of her imagination. The girl appeared, a shadowy figure. She was there, Caitlyn saw her, but she wasn't real. It was all in her head. It was all in her head.
"Tell her Caitlyn. You can trust Red Horn."
Caitlyn exhaled, a long drawn out breath. "I went back home to Korea. There was..." she glanced at the figure, a place of nothingness. An empty space beside her. ". . . family emergency... And I just ended up staying for a bid longer... for my family and all." it wasn't a lie. She had gone back to Korea to bury her. Leviathan was gone. But at least now, she had a bit to enjoy. Parts to be proud of.
"I heard uhm... Witch Doctor... Nimue? She arrested Lady Lavender." Her voice was a bit shaken. "I should thank her.... for what I couldn't do..." Still, a year later, she was beating herself up about it. But she had to move on.
"How has things been here? Other than... well that thing."

“Itsy huh? Fair nuff.~” She chimed back with a warm smile not at all minding the correction on the potential nickname there and more than happy to call her that as a sly nickname if that was better for her, resting her back against part of the school gate as she let herself take in whatever the girl before her was about to say. She definitely seemed nervous, and that wasn’t exactly the girl Mia remembered… maybe that was just her poor memory at work, but all the same she offered her full attention. Went back home huh? Probably something personal but… if she wanted to share… “Hey er… if it’s uncomfortable ya don’t actually have to… ya know.”
Of course, she got an answer all the same but she was glad to have offered the courtesy. A family emergency huh? Well Mia wasn’t about to pry. They were friends but it wasn’t like with Jaz or Freya. She didn’t feel close enough to weigh in on that. From… the sounds of things maybe someone passed away? Too risky to offer condolences if she was wrong but at the very least- “Well I’m sorry to hear that. I hope everything’s okay now?” She offered, a soft smile perking at the edges of her lips, just trying to offer a bit of a branch there. If she wanted to share or talk more that was fine, if not they could just… catch up in a more neutral topic. In fact- “Here we should get moving before a student catches me and starts asking some questions about the homework. Pretty sure I made a big typo on one of the questions.” She’d give Caitlyn a light pat on the back, guiding her to start walking away from the school.
“Lady lavender… can’t say I personally recall it. Musta been someone in you guys’ neighbourhood…” Mia didn’t exactly watch the news afterall and if she hadn’t encountered a villain herself, it took a really big name to get her attention. Also helped her feel extra smug when she could literally tell a cocky villain to their face she hadn’t heard of them before. Still, as they walked she got the question of what had been up with her, letting out a heavy breath.
“Well… you’ll probably get brief on it sooner or later so… I’ve been through some shirt.” She lowered her head back down with another hefty sigh and shook her head in disappointment at herself. “My quirk’s been having some issues, there’s like, an aspect of it that can put me in like, a rage filled state and… there was a criminal big enough I couldn’t beat him. He pushed me to my limits and my limits weren’t pretty. Ended up tearing through a few Tokyo blocks till the other heroes stopped me…” She gestured back to the building they were leaving behind with a scoff. “That’s why they got me working at the school. Keep me off the streets till they can trust I got this under control. They’re running tests on me like… daily. But. I’ll make it through. They can’t keep me off the streets forever…”
She paused as she recalled something. “Oh er… the general public though. They think I got affected by the quirk of the guy I was fighting so… unless your talking to another hero, that’s the story. The government can’t let the people think their number 1 hero is a nuke waiting to go off… eheh… “She let out a bit of a defeated chuckle, rubbing the back of her neck. She… wasn’t a huge fan of that lie, but it helped her save a lot of face…

CAITLYN, ARMY OF ONE ■ 520 WORDS ■ "I have to do this, for me." ■ Most of it all was uncomfortable. Most of the heroes seemed to have such a unique look to them, that even in plain clothes it was impossible to hide their true self. She hated reading comics as a kid. So many humans with simple powers. Flight. Laser eyes. Claws. All of them easy to hide with a mask. How many of them had six arms? How many had five eyes? How many had a massive red horn on their head or other appendages? Even in civilian clothes, they were heroes. They were symbols. But with their job, they would never be given a time for peace and relaxation. To be treated like a normal person. and not like a hero. It wasn't possible. The most she could do was hide her name, appear normal at least among names on a list. No one needed to know. That was why she came up with Itsy. A simple name that was believable to most. Her true family name hidden, and with it, the identity of her child.
Caitlyn took a step forward, to get a bit closer to speak, and also close the distance from where she stood. She was a bit a ways off. Now that she was here, it was probably better to go wherever she had planned. With the soft touch of her friend, she was nudged along and would follow suit. "Yeah. Everything is better now." she would say, "I wouldn't have come back if otherwise." It was still something that set her uneasy. As they stepped away, she listened to the footsteps behind her, and glanced back at the girl. But, like before, there was no one there.
"Oh, so this is a punishment." She looked back again, staring into the face of the girl. A smile and a wave was all she got. Caitlyn would wave back before snapping back to reality. "Sounds pretty lucky..." For the longest time, Caitlyn had tried to find a reason to teach at Yuuei, to be among the students and to share lessons. A place where her honor wouldn't be reduced, and she wouldn't have to live up to her full role. She would be a teacher, a protector of students, rather than the citizens of Japan. It was a different line of work. One she preferred, and Red Horn got it as a punishment. She wasn't sure if she was mad or happy. Either that she wasn't good enough, or she just wasn't bad enough.
"What kinds of tests? And by whom?" She asked, curious, and still on edge after Semper Fi, she didn't trust most authority. It was why the heroes had their licenses. They weren't equipped for the job, nor fit for it.
"Well then if you're that strong now..." She looked down at her feet, a few of her hands tensing up into a fist. She had started just as Red Horn did. Now, there seemed to be a gap. The division of fighting big names a few times versus the nobodies over and over.
"Mia, can you help me get stronger then?"
She needed to.
For her own kin.

Mia could notice the light distance between them but she didn’t really mind it. Even as Caitlyn got closer she seemed to still be holding her distance a little and this was far from unusual for the heroine. Her size just seemed to naturally have an almost warding effect on those around her. It was like staring up at a tall building and getting a sense similar to vertigo. You just felt the need to back off a bit and she hardly minded that. It was just naturaly at this point. At least, that’s why she assumed Caitlyn kept a short distance between them. “Well that’s good to hear at least. Good to have ya back too. Been a bit er… ‘strict’ without a calmer head like yours in the mix. Always feel like all the other heroes are judging me or something… though given recent events I can’t exactly blame ‘em…” She rolled her shoulders back, trying not to linger on that bummer of a topic.
“Hah!” She barked out a brief laugh at Caitlyn’s summary of the situation, nodding along. “Yeah it’s a punishment alright. I mean… yeah, I’m lucky. I didn’t get outright fired or worse fucking jailed for the shit I put people through thanks to my quirk but… this is still a punishment. I wanna be out there actually making a difference on the streets but here I am teaching kids and… they’re great kids, and I wanna see them be great heroes but… I ain’t the person to teach them. I just ain’t built for that stuff, head wise, ya know?” She asked with a tilt of her head, wondering if Caitlyn could in any way relate, but shrugging it off if she couldn’t. “Either way, when my probations over I still gotta teach here, so even if I’m allowed back on field duty, I’m forced to spend most of my time here… just for safety sake…”
At the question of her tests, she shrugged. “A handful of doctors. I was getting tested for Drugs by Nimue and then I got handed off to a specialist called Dr sequoia, but there’s been a few others specialists here and there I’ve been handed around. Mostly blood and skin samples to see if they can figure out my quirk. They can’t really risk a stress test afterall…”
With a soft sigh through her nose she turned her eyes back to Caitlyn. “Anyway, enough of the downer topics. What’s up with you now that you’re back? Been settling back in o-“ Her question became a little interrupted by the question if she could train caitlyn, stopping her walk and looking at the woman a little curiously, rubbing at the back of her neck with some confusion.
“Well er… I mean… I’d never turn down a chance to help a fellow hero train but… I mean heck we ain’t exactly on the same playing field itsy. I mean if I remember your more the… scary, shifty type, with your bugs doin’ the fightin’ and all… don’t know what I could offer you unless you just wanna test your metal against me…?”

CAITLYN, ARMY OF ONE ■ 415 WORDS ■ "I'm so weak..." ■ Things would be different now. They had to be different. She didn't mind being around Mia, but she had learned to keep her distance. People didn't like spiders, and she knew better than to get near anyone. All it took was one heart attack from fear and her career would be over. She hated sticking around for interviews. The idea of someone at home, screaming at the television at their own phobia was not something she wanted to take part in. Having Mia call her a level head did make her smile, and even cause her to giggle for a bit. She was far from level. She panicked constantly, her anxiety was always through the roof, a roof that Mia probably smashed to begin with.
"I see. . . " she drowned her words in thought. Even after it was over she needed to see the kids through. She herself wanted to teach, but thinking about it now she was unsure if she was better for it. But would it not be a better environment than out in the streets? What would be the difference between saving lives and sculpting them? At least one put herself in less danger.
"Oh because I-"
"Because you what? USED to be a surgeon? You're a coroner now."
"Never mind." She couldn't help, and using her own job would run the risk of tainted results. The trust could be exposed, unless they were aware of it. But they would be, was not that the point of having that girl-
The steps would be halted, and with it a change of pace. "Well, I know we're different on the surface." She tried to explain it, but she already knew it was going to be strange. "I am the bugs." she would say, "You're strong, and you're tough. So, anything I learn can easily be translated into my own strength, and I guess I could also reinforce my body with my webs I guess." She clenched her fists in thought. The stronger the spiders got, the stronger she was. The stronger she was, the stronger they were. It was directly related. They fed from her body, and the stronger their food was, the stronger they would become.
"It's just..." She held the thought, her mind drifting to a million moments lost. In a flash she would return to reality. ". . . I'm so weak compared to everyone. . ."
And in a way, it was the truth. She was the weakest hero. Even her quirk had to defend her.

“…Alright.” Mia didn’t really wanna pry on what Caitlyn had been about to say there, but it was clear she seemed to be holding something back. The girl had been pretty much off kilter since they’d met back up… heck since she even showed back up in the pro hero chat. She felt like she should push. Maybe delve into whatever was on her mind but… Mia wasn’t someone to push. She was a strong personality sure and she’d make someone push through an issue… but only if they revealed it. If Caitlyn didn’t have the want, or the nerve to get it out there, Mia wasn’t the one to drag it out.
Still. The girl went on to explain her situation with wanting to train her strength, Mia folding her arms as she took it in. It seemed to be the logic of just… wanting to change her image maybe? Or just learn from someone who represented the strength she wanted to take on? Hard for Mia to really follow, but the idea of pushing herself against Mia wasn’t something she could argue against, scoffing with a smirk at the idea. “Well alright… I’d be more than happy to work with ya sometime!~ Like I said I’m still on probation, but if you come to school and we pretend it’s an exhibition class or something we can definitely spar a few rounds. What’ya say?”
She threw in a mild nudge of the other girl’s shoulder, shaking her head. “And as far as being ‘weak compared to everyone’… bitch shut up. I know a few heroes who don’t even measure up to you. So don’t fret. Aye?” She offered a warm smile. Her words may not have been the brightest or the wisest, but she tried to be supportive where she could.

CAITLYN, ARMY OF ONE ■ 302 WORDS ■ "Punch me, bro." ■ Perhaps there was far too much going on with her mentally to really do her job right, but with Mia now at the school, her task had only been increased. She needed to take over, and she really needed to do better. All of the small thieves who used these bill villains as distractions to rob stores and other things, that was her field. And the more she did it, the more she felt useless. It could have been left to newest heroes, or vigilantes. She needed students, or pupils. Anyone that could help, she needed them to help her. And that was the problem, she desperately needed help. She wasn't okay. She wasn't even okay at pretending to be okay.
Sparring was probably going to be the closest she could get to training. Even if Mia worked with kids now, didn't mean she was a teacher, and sometimes it was better to learn with your hands, than with words and pictures. She hoped it would be something she could endure, but even so, she would rise up from it. Even broken, she would be stronger. She had to. Caitlyn would give a soft bow, as she followed along. "I would be honored." With the words that followed the nudge.
"That's true I suppose. Not many heroes have bullet wounds. . . though I guess others might also never been hit for good reason..." She pondered the thought. Should she be proud she literally took bullets for people? Or was it something to be ashamed of, that she could even be HIT by a bullet.
"Eh, I'll just catch those with my webs next time... probably." She tried to joke, but it just came ou as awkward nervousness.
"Besides that... how's everything else?" she tried to segway, but of course, it wasn't like she was a social genius.

Mia was glad to see that they were making some sense of.. progress? She guessed? In this whole idea of helping Caitlyn get on the path to being stronger but even as she struggled to deal with people and their issues Mia still got the impression that something was up here beyond Caitlyn just wanting to beef herself up to some extent. She took a slow breath and nodded along, forcing out a little chuckle at the idea of the woman being honoured. “Ah shut it. We’re just buddies working through some things. Don’t think you should be ‘honored’ by me just offering to lend a hand you know?”
She rested her hands deep in her pockets and looked over the girl before her, taking in how she still seemed to low energy and rubbing the back of her neck as she struggled to think of how to speak next, but eventually just… forcing it out, blunt or not, as Mia often did. “Look Caitlyn I… Maybe I’m off base but I’m getting the feeling something’s up your not telling me so how about we cut the crap and all? I mean I can tell ya how life’s been. I can tell ya things have been good for me since Jaz came back from America and I got my Protégé back to keep me busy while my work life goes to hell but… come on. I’m dense but I ain’t a total idiot. There’s something on your chest or something right?”
She held up a quick finger. “Now. Don’t get me wrong. You don’t wanna tell me? Fine. I ain’t ever gonna make you tell me. But, if you wanna go… grab a few drinks, and see if it starts spilling out. I’m up for that too. You just… it feels like everything your saying is being second guessed before you let it out and I don’t want you havin’ to feel that way around me if I can help it… so what’s got your tongue Caitlyn?”

CAITLYN, ARMY OF ONE ■ 307 WORDS ■ "I gotta drive so..." ■
She did have a way with phrasing things. Some were simply formalities, even if she didn't mean her words exactly. Other times it was just how her mind picked her words in that moment. She was honored, to be trained by RedHorn, the top hero, but more so by Mia, her friend. There was a lot she wanted to say, but she couldn't find the time, or strength to speak about any of it. HOlding it in, felt wrong, she wanted to talk about it... but she couldn't.
Silence fell as she listened, each worked falling upon her ears as her put it all together. "Actually a few drinks would be nice." eyes traced the cracks in the ground, before snapping back up, "But maybe we shouldn't get drunk because I have to drive home and you have to go to work. Maybe coffee... or a soda... or maybe just a little booze so we're sober by the time..."
Caitlyn wasn't always so high strung. In her youth, she was loud, rambunctious and a rebel. She questioned authority and challenged every order. But in the days she came to Japan, she was marked a hero, a savior. She wasn't just some street kid anymore. She was a hero. And she felt like she had to act like it. Her child might have been an infant then, but they were older now. And with eyes on her, more than she had at home, she felt the need to hold herself to a standard. Now, she was a mostly calm single mother who struggled to keep herself together. It wasn't about her living her best life anymore, it was about leaving behind a legacy. People depended on her now. She wasn't just an outcast.
She was a symbol of hope to those who didn't feel like they belonged. She was Army of One.

Mia couldn’t help but scoff a little as her co-worker suggested they not get drunk so they were good to go for the next day, Mia just shaking her head in borderline disbelief. Ah, she had been gone a while huh? Guess they never knew eachother long enough for it to get to the point for her to know about Mia’s own resistance to alcohol, tapping the woman’s back. “Tell ya what, I know a nice bar, quiet booths, does virgin cocktails too. Or ya can order a soda if ya like. For me though I’m getting some beer. It takes like a fucking gallon of the stuff to even get me tipsy, so ya don’t have to worry about me in that regards aye?”
Mia wouldn’t waste any time assuming Caitlyn agreed. If she didn’t maybe they’d find a nice coffee shop that was open later in the day like this, but if she was okay with it Mia would take her to the Babylon gardens bar. It was a bit of a ‘rowdy’ place but in the high end sense. Stuff going on like a singer on a small stage and some side-services like a hot spring in the back, but Mia just made sure they found a nice little booth to hide away while she went to go get the spider girl drinks. As before, she wasn’t entirely sure how to handle such a situation. Anyone could tell she wasn’t a touchy feely person. She was very much the type to headbutt a problem till it submitted or she realized it wasn’t worth the effort to worry or panic about, but if one of her friends was struggling…? Well, she’d do what she could. Café or bar, she’d return to where they found their seats with drinks in hand, 4 bottles of a generic booze brand for her, and whatever Caitlyn would have ordered for her. “So… you gonna start talking or do I actually need to find a way to get you drunk without alcohol to talk?”

CAITLYN, ARMY OF ONE ■ 529 WORDS ■ "Is this what you wanted?" ■ Maybe her words expressed a different side of thinking, but in truth, she was only thinking about herself. She wasn't one to worry about other heroes, especially when she knew they were stronger than she was. She figured Mia was smart enough to know her limit, and she was right. It wasn't that she didn't care about her, she did. But she didn't have to worry about people who were stronger than her. And in her mind, there wasn't a lot of people to worry about. She felt so weak standing next to her, but the thought of one small mistake leaving her child an orphan was a terrifying thought. But it wasn't that she didn't drink before or didn't know her limit. It was the fact she hadn't drank in such a long time. She just didn't know how much she could take. But with Mia, she would be fine, right? Maybe she could relax a bit. She was with the number one hero. And she. . . well Caitlyn was a nobody.
"You know this area better than me." She knew of a few places, one she spent hours staring at. The burned ruins of that strange love hotel, a place a young girl once called home. A haunting place. One, that she could uncover the secrets to, but found it better to leave alone and untouched. The last mystery of that girl.
As she followed along, her eyes drifted to catch all of the scenery that passed them. Instinctively, a hand lightly held onto the fabric of her top, as if to not get lost while she took in the world around them. With a set of arms crossed, the others rested at her sides. It wasn't long until she was seated at a booth, her gazed fixed on the direction of the singer. Maybe in another life. Maybe.
"Fuck it." She said, trying to relax. "Get me a few Soju cocktails. I'll spot ya later." She sunk in her seat, watching the singer until Mia returned with their drinks. As the question was posed, Caitlyn would quickly down her own drink.
"I needed time to process everything." she said, taking the next drink and chugging it down. "Went back home to Korea. Totally forgot my parents passed when I was getting my license." The first of a list of failures. "Then..." She reached to another drink, before slumping down on the table and resting her head on her arm. The other hands propped her up, while another set rested on the back of her booth. "Lady Lavender." The name brought a sour taste in her mouth. Her face scowled a bit at the mention. "She killed..." She looked away, her voice breaking for a moment, but no tears. She turned back towards her drink. "She's the reason I had to go to a funeral. And the reason I had to go back home. Not for me, but for her." Mentioning that last word, she nudged at the glass and looked up at Mia.
"If I couldn't save her, I didn't feel like I could save anyone. My short trip, turned into a week, then a month... and well, here I am."

Mia was a little surprised when Caitlyn decided she’d have a drink afterall, but she wasn’t exactly about to complain either. It was hard for her to get drunk herself but she could always have a bit of fun watching someone else slip into the realm of being tipsy. Never hurt at the end of the day, so long as Caitlyn knew how to handle herself should she dip a little further into tipsy land than she perhaps anticipated. Coming back with several beers for herself and a few cocktails as requested, she’d ease back into her side of the booth, ready to hear the oddly nervous seeming Caitlyn finally open up a bit about whatever seemed to be on their mind.
“Lady Lavander?” She’d question from the get go, more idly sipping her drinks a bit more casually, though for a woman her size she was still practically swigging them each time she lifted the bottle for a sip, resting on her elbows against the table between them, just generally absorbing the information she was being given. She didn’t remember any villains called ‘lady lavander’ but maybe she was just missing a memory, or maybe it was a Korean villain or something. Caitlyn was still finding it hard to communicate, but she had enough of Mia’s attention that the blonde clearly was willing to take her time to understand, leaning over the table between them a little more.
“Oi oi. Don’t get worked up. Take your time… who did they kill? You said your parents already passed away so… what happened? Who did this ‘lady lavander’ hurt or… kill?” She narrowed her gaze a little, keeping her voice low, not wanting Caitlyn to feel her issues were being aired out all over the bloody bar thanks to Mia’s typically energetic and booming voice broadcasting it to everyone within earshot. “Seriously just… take a breath if ya need to. I got all night.”

CAITLYN, ARMY OF ONE ■ 433 WORDS ■ "Lmao why did you let me do this?" ■ Simply put, Caitlyn was a locked box filled and jam packed with emotions and feelings. Despite being a locked box, for the most part, all you needed was to ask for the key to get inside. Anyone who dared open it might as well change their name to Pandora, because it was bound to unleash a lot not just onto the world, but yourself.
She didn't pour it all out, but with the pieces that did fall from her lips, would be a lot to digest, for anyone. As Mia drank her drink, Caitlyn's eyes watched, only to reach out to pound another cocktail until there was no more left. If she was going to let it all out, she was going to drink it all in.
Caitlyn took a breath. It was a lot of information, so, she figured she would give some context. "My family are mostly beetles or other isopod looking type quirks. I happened to be the odd one out. I was always the outcast, the black sheep in the family. Which I guess is weird now since some people might actually be black sheep now... But anyways, so I wasn't super close, and when I left Korea to be here, I, well we? I guess. I dunno. I remember taking my exam, the test? Whatever, for the license, with you and Umbra. I think my parents died around the time I got it but I ended up taking some job and I just kinda pushed it back and-" She looked at Mia, her speech stopped as she slowly caught up with herself. "You're really pretty.... Wait what was the question?" She leaned forward on the table. It was already getting to her.
"Oh, right. No yeah, my parents been dead." She looked back up at the woman, Oh Did I tell you I have a kid? Well, I kinda took care of this other kid..." her eyes begun to tear up as she laid on the table, her arms still holding onto the seat to prop her up. "She was my friend's sister. At least, I think she's my friend still. And I let her die. Lady Lavender killed her but it's ok because Witch Doctor and she got justice so that's really good."
She stopped, "She was like my daughter and I wasn't there for her." tears poured from her eyes. "And like, I couldn't..." Her eyes closed for a bit, only to wake back up after. ".. .can I has more drink?" she would say, playing with an empty glass, her face pouting. Her mind was in all kinds of places.
