Cissy needed a moment off, everything seemed to be chaotic and the whole situation that she was planning with Sonya was horrible. It was horrible in the sense that it was a plan she was making but it meant well that she was going further down the line of things she did not want to do. She was going to be that villain, she had said it and she would do it. There was no end to it anymore, the beginning was already in the past, so much too late and so much happening. Narcissa did not know, which was exactly why she was taking a break for today. Today was about just her, just Narcissa. Nothing more, nothing less so to say. It was a fine Sunday that she decided after scrolling down the list of things to do in Tokyo, where she wanted to go.
Slowly but with a goal in her mind, she got up from her bed and got dressed, it was a nice dress, white with blue and small little flowers over it. That would be her theme of today, she was going out and go to the indoor gardens of Japan, of Tokyo. And she would go all by herself and not worry about anyone, not think about anyone and so on. She brushed her long caramel coloured hair and mused to herself, maybe she could get that job in the legal sense of the world and not by blackmailing and sabotaging someone's live. It still felt strange to do things in this way but life wasn't fair and it would never be fair for everyone else either, so why would she keep up with the rules that the world was making, no one was explaining the rules anyway. The game was made for trust and she missed that sense, so Narcissa had made her own game, the cards were in the game and she would learn to use those cards for her own and be safe. It was going to take effort but she would have her own safe place back here.
Her phone, notes, wallet and identity card were now in her purse and she slipped it over her head and on her shoulder, surprisingly the charming lady wore black flats as she did not plan to walk in heels all day, sunglasses on her face and she would get out. No time to drive on her motorcycle today, she was going by taxi. She would arrive at about 11:35 in the morning at the gardens and she would see how the route would go and where to start, maybe at the daffodils, just for fun. She wasn't sure, but the best was by being so early meant that not many people were here yet, if she calculated it correctly based on the website, most people arrived between one and two, maybe she would have done most of the gardens already and enjoyed the peace on her own. She would wander around, accidentally she had left her sunglasses just on a bench that she had taken a seat at for a moment to enjoy the view. She wasn't a person that would take pictures of every other flower, she just wanted to enjoy it for her memory.

and yet you're the prettiest vision here POST-ERUPTION HAD ALWAYS BEEN DRAINING for the crimson gentleman. He’d erupted about the middle of the prior week, missed the rest of the week of school as his body recuperated. Of all the quirks Tobias could have been given, why was his so much like a chronic illness? Why couldn’t it be something useful?
Anyways, it was early Sunday morning when he realized that the Yumenoshima Tropical Greenhouse was having its annual sale that weekend, in light of the cherry blossom viewing and all. And though the volcanic golem was absolutely spent from his recent eruption, he wouldn’t miss this fundraiser for the world.
So Tobias roused himself from his bed, obsidian fingertips paying homage to each of his cats, who were curled-up at the foot of the bed. Alice, a predominantly white cat with grey tabby spots, meowed and stretched. Gertrude, a predominantly tabby cat, gave an annoyed mrrrp but otherwise didn’t move.
As the librarian got moving for the day, the cinder sprites roused themselves from the sooty corners of Tobias’s room. Their smoldering ember-eyes followed him from the room towards the closet, and some bobbed after him as if tugged by a string.
Wherever he went, so did they—however unintelligent they seemed, they at least were very good at following along.
Tobias padded to his closet, and surveyed the available shirts and pants—the sharp edges of his obsidian armor was likely to tear the fine fabric of his dress shirts, so perhaps something more casual, and sturdier?
He settled for a short-sleeved denim button-up and some darker khaki pants. The casual Sunday ensemble was completed with his usual eyeglasses, and a pair of canvas sneakers. Truly the metropolitan visage, and far more casual than Tobias was usually comfortable with. Lastly, Tobias donned a leather jacket, snagging his keys and wallet on the way out the door. The gentleman then set-out, cinder sprites following closely in his wake.
It was mid-morning by the time that Tobias had arrived, and already there were a few people there—not a lot, mind you, because most of the diehard botanists came on Friday or Saturday, and much of the public preferred visiting in the afternoon (for picnics). Tobias parked his car, paid his admittance, and strode down the familiar, crushed granite path. His footsteps were slow and measured. The cinder sprites, all the while, followed behind him like a flock of ducklings.
It wasn’t required, to pay admittance to go to the sale—the sale was hosted outside of the greenhouse, to mitigate the potential confusion of botanists and casual gardeners trying to buy the specimens that weren’t for sale. Tobias just loved walking the garden, anyways. And he needed the walk.
He strolled without paying mind to the directory, familiar enough with the lay of the garden that he didn’t really need to check it. He walked with hands tucked into the pockets of his jacket, breathing in the warm air.
A woman who had been sitting upon the bench rose from her place, leaving behind a tangle of plastic. Upon closer inspection, Tobias realized that these were sunglasses.
“Miss?” Tobias called-out, “Miss!”
He strode towards the bench, carefully grabbing the sunglasses by their arms, so as to not risk scratching the lenses, and then walked steadily after the woman.
“Excuse me, miss—“ Tobias said again, as he drew nearer, “Your sunglasses?”
He held the accessory up for her taking as he asked the question, offering a toothless smile. Most people found his molten smile disconcerting, so Tobias was careful to not grin outright when obsidian. Particularly when in the company of a lady.
“They were on the bench,” he advised her, for fear of being incriminated as a sunglass-thief.

She brushed her hair behind her ear and walked on. She had the total idea that her sunglasses were on top of her head but they were not, left at the bench. She would just forget if it was not for someone else. However, Narcissa was an individual in the sense of that she only decided to think about herself, she was not here with anyone else, so why would you respond to someone who asked miss. She did not, zoned out, wondering towards the flowers, she would not hunch down just yet, she wondered if she should ask for some new plants, decorate her penthouse. She should not be so selfish or selfcentered, but that happened if you could not count on someone else. So that was it. Because she did not move it was easy for Tobias to catch up with her, she would just stand there and looking over the sea of flowers. Sometimes she wished at moments like these she was a real flower, everyone would love her, no one would harm her, because why would you harm a flower and she tilted her head to the right as she looked at it. Being a real daffodil, how wonderful would that be?
She finally jumped out of her daydream and turned around to look at the person next to her. She could not help but her eyes turn bigger at the sight of the black skinned person, what was that? Apart from highly fascinating and she tilted her head around him to see the floating little... spirits around him. What was this, well obviously it was a quirk but why would he call her out? She did not get it entirely. Her sunglasses? She did not notice he held the glasses and her hand moved up to her head, trying to grab the sunglasses that weren't there and her face made a pouting form ad she frowned a little. "Oh!" She blinked a little bit surprised as he smiled at her and she found that strange, funny as well. "I am sorry, I was daydreaming, thank you so much. I kinda like my glasses."
If only people had been so kind to her before. Where she wasn't daydreaming, where she was at a party and not being able to stop the killer, the Flame. And her smile faltered as she looked up at him, her daydream or more her nightmare breaking the moment of piece. Again she blinked, rapidly and gaving a weak smile, "Daydreaming again." She mumbled, "Thank you." She said again but she wondered how to not be rude and ask him about the quirk or the little floating floofs. She touched his hand softly when taking one of the arms of her sunglasses and moving them back on top of her head. His skin felt rockhard... it was like it was... pure rock? "W-what are those if you don't mind me asking?" she decided to ask by pointing at the little floating things.

and yet you're the prettiest vision here THE OBSIDIAN GOLEM SMILED-- at least, as much as he could while his outer shell was so stony—when the woman turned to face him. Molten yellow-orange eyes pinched slightly from behind the rimless spectacles that were balanced upon his nose, and apparently held in-place by a fastening strap. The woman seemed startled, but at least she didn’t shout or flinch. Just… alarmed? That was natural.
The cinder sprites bobbed around Toby’s ankles, inclining their heads towards the peculiar woman as she searched the crown of her head for the phantom glasses. When she realized what Tobias had meant, the gentleman would keep the sunglasses held-out until they were taken, and then he would let his hand to fall to the side.
“My pleasure,” Tobias said simply, bowing at the waist.
Rather than asking about his usual visage, she instead asked about the sprites that lingered around him. Tobias had expected a question—it would either be about his appearance or his entourage.
“Oh, these?” he echoed. The sprites turned towards him expectantly, “These are nuisances.”
It was a droll sort-of response. Because they were, in fact, nuisances—but it was an unsatisfying response, so the gentleman supplemented his response with another, more concise answer. No need to sour first acquaintances with sarcasm.
“They’re sprites that come around me, from time-to-time,” he confessed, “A product of my Quirk. A summon, if you will.”
He inclined his head, attempting to steer the conversation away from his spectral tagalongs—their presence, and his appearance, were rather embarrassing. Not exactly the kind of thing one wanted to discuss in polite company.
“Are you here for the sale?”
Surely her early arrival alluded to some passion for botany... right?

Narcissa felt a little stupid as she just did not get it. The fact that she was surprised by this guy, his skin was not normal skin that was for sure and all. But this was just asking a lot of questions and the little floaty things were weird as well. Narcissa had also made the movement where she put up her hand and tried to get the glasses that were not there. It was then that she realized what this was all about. She looked at his hand and took her glasses. She thanked him for giving her glasses back and that she had been daydreaming too much. She kinda liked these glasses and she gave a wry smile. Again, stupid. She wished she had thought about it before, this felt like something humiliating to meet people about and that's why she tried to bring the conversation to something else. It was the first thing that she could come up with that felt less offensive than asking about how his skin and quirk worked so she asked about the little floatsies around and she pouted a little cuz his answer was obviously not what she wanted to hear.
She tried to laugh softly about it, like a little giggle, but she wasn't sure what to do with it. The pout must be rather obvious so she looked away. She nodded though and turned her eyes back on the strange man considering this was part of his quirk. That meant she would have to stop asking in general. It was not polite to ask something like that and she bowed her head a little, "I am sorry, I was too curious." That wasn't something nice to do so she should not say so or ask about it, hence why Narcissa apolgized. But when he stired the conversation further on, she did appreciate it and made a small smile to him, it seemed that she did not ruin it yet. But that's when she realized what he said and looked surprised all over again, "Wait a sale?"
What kind of sale? She looked around and noticed the sign that was a little further down the path that pointed to where it would be and she felt a little stupid once more. "They sell their flowers here? I can buy something like that?" She looked really surprised, that was something great but then she pondered, she had a balcony, would that work?

and yet you're the prettiest vision here THE MAN SHOOK HIS HEAD, raising a polite hand to the woman’s bashful apology. Perhaps his strained smile had come through his obsidian facade too clearly? Perhaps his droll tone had hit the mark too resoundingly? Certainly, the topic made Toby uncomfortable, but he didn't want to make the unfamiliar woman uncomfortable in-turn.
"You needn't apologize for curiosity," the gentleman insisted, "Curiosity breeds understanding. Which is much better than its cousins, misconception or bigotry. I take no offense."
Some of the sprites ebbed around his feet, while others were dangling off of a low-slung branch, tittering amongst themselves.
"A sale, yes!" Tobias echoed, mistaking the woman's bewilderment for excitement, "Some of the specimens they have here can produce plants from semi-ripe cuttings, or the seeds that they disperse. So, a few times throughout the year, they sell plants as a fundraiser for the garden."
His clipped, formal way of speaking grew progressively more animated as he gushed about the sale. Toby's excitement was practically tangible.
"What a fortuitous day to visit," Tobias congratulated the woman, clearly pleased, "They have such lovely plants to offer."
Belatedly, the man realized that he was getting carried away with his gushing-over-plants. He cleared his throat, adjusting his glasses, before timidly declaring that, “I’m getting ahead of myself. My name is Tobias Murakami. May I ask your name? Would you like to accompany me to the sale?”

She was a little shameful about her curiously asking about someone their quirk or indirectly but maybe quite obvious related to it. But she was glad to say that it was okay or well that it was not that bad and she hid her smile with her hand and looked at the man as that was the only thing she was sure at. For now, it had to do with the voice, but well so many things could change with the quirk but she wasn't going to ask more. "Oh good, I had no intention, but yes, I agree it is better than misconception or bigotry, wise words." She smiled and lowered her hand and her eyes trailed to the white little spirits again and though she was curious, she had no real questions immediately and that's when she learned about the sale. She had no idea this was for sale, and that made her surprised. She had to confirm that she could buy some of the flowers here. She looked at this man with big eyes and a little hype started. Seriously this was something to look forward to and she liked the enthusiasm, the garden and just supporting it seemed to be a very interesting idea.
What surprised her the most was how Tobias, his name at that point still unknown, but how he changed from the plant enthusiast to introducing himself and most; inviting her to come along. It was just that, well she always kept her distance, she wasn't very proud of all her actions, not here either. She was just surprised people invited strangers, but she had to answer really quickly if she did not want to make this awkward or stupid. "My name is Narcissa King. I would like to come along. I could use some plants in my new house." Trying to make a conversation, suddenly it felt so stupid but she was going to try her very best to this smart and kind man.

and yet you're the prettiest vision here THE WOMAN SEEMED REASSURED BY Tobias’s hasty explanation, and complimented the wisdom of his words. The hard, stony surface of his face did its best to return the smile, but it seemed stiff.
Polite conversation had a way of bringing a smile to the hero’s face—so often, when it came to investigative work, the crimson gentleman was faced with uncommunicative and, frankly, rude people of the public. This was far better. Cathartic even. And to be in the company of such a beautiful woman…
“Narcissa King,” he echoed, bowing at the waist, “It’s a pleasure to meet you.”
What an unusual name! Certainly not Japanese, but… lovely nonetheless.
“Your name is… very regal, no irony intended, King-san,” Tobias remarked, raising from his bow, “I don’t suppose that your parents were, ah, fans of mythology?”
Tobias was one to keep his distance from people, too—but he had no qualms about keeping polite company, particularly by happenstance. There was a certain degree of safety in anonymity. No need to worry about the stranger you chose to be your friend for the hour, because it was not like you would see them ever again… right?
The redhead moved slowly along the path, the sprites ebbing around his feet as he moved. He would clasp his hands behind his back, his gaze trained on the plants just beyond the retaining wall, varied and beautiful.
“I’m a librarian, so… please pardon the nerdy mythological references?” he said lamely, molten eyes sliding back towards her, “I’ll spare you any ham-handed references to Greek myth, though, I promise.”
Another stretch of silence followed, and Tobias came to a halt besides one particularly enthusiastic birds-of-paradise.
“What sort of plants do you hope to find?” he mused aloud, “A perennial? A succulent?”
Perhaps it wasn’t a fair question to ask someone who hadn’t even expected to be a sale… but once his mind found a common interest, it sometimes cleaved-on to it.

She felt slightly stupid it. What was it if people spoke fancy words to her? Her issue with Japanese had been and certainly sometimes still was that she did not know it. But these words were at least familiar in her office. So that saved her but it was just, god why did she still not work well with the language, also her writing was horrible but she managed that now as well, she was here now about six months, this was tiring and such. She did not want to look stupid, Narcissa was too vain to make herself look stupid and accept it on a pretty good reason as being a foreigner. But it made it a little easier when she introduced herself, her name was obviously everything but Japanese. His first name was English or well she just took it like that and she wondered if he did speak English but that would only bring her back to easy habits and she wasn't sure if she wanted that. She brushed her hair behind her ear when she spoke of her name and watched him bow. F... she had not done that when he said his name and she gave a short bow as well, looking a little sheepish, and made a silent sorry with her lips, because well today was her day off for a reason. It was like she left her brain at home. She could however not help but let out a soft laugh when he called her name regal. For once she wanted to say it. She wanted to say so badly who she really was but it would be a horrible decision.
"Mythology?" Right her name came from a god right? She wasn't sure actually, "They were more focused on pretty things." Such as daffodils. But she was kind of curious, "Should they be interested in Mythology?" She was sure that her pronunciation of the word mythology broke ever Japanese vibe ever but she tried very hard.
She walked with him though and again a soft chuckle sound escape her lips. "I don't mind." Was the easy statement about him talking about mythology and she looked back at him, a librarian. Probably a much nice job than hers. "I wish I had time to read more than I do now." She said, moving her hands in front of her, holding on to her bag and her own hands. Well, it was nice to talk to someone. But it was silent for a bit and she just looked around and up at the air, how long till it will be extremely busy? Especially if there was a sale, which was exactly what Murakami-san asked her about. "Hm that's a good question." She answered, thinking about it for a bit. "I think perennials will be nicer on my balcony, and maybe if I take some good ones, fitting for the bees." She said and thought about the boring interior she had, maybe she could buy something for that as well, "But as I have no garden, I am not sure if that's a smart idea and succulents might be better." And more resistant to just her shitty living.

and yet you're the prettiest vision here SOMETHING ABOUT THIS EXCHANGE MADE Tobias’s heart flutter. It was a weird sensation—he chalked it up to the excitement of having found someone to keep the company of. It had been a few days since he’d kept polite company, given the recentness of his eruption, and all. And, what more, this lady seemed interested in—or at least, polite enough to ask about—niche interests of his.
She seemed flustered by the bowing, only bowing after Tobias had. Foreign name, a lack of awareness about Japanese customs. It wasn’t necessarily a polite question to ask, but… if they were keeping each other’s company…
“I have a question. Pardon me for asking,” Tobias said, his tone careful, “Where are you from?”
His sentences lost their usual floweriness, electing for a more straightforward sentence structure. Perhaps it was rude to ask someone if they were from somewhere else—but it was ruder to talk circles around them while they looked shell-shocked by the barrage of Japanese.
“I… noticed that you seemed… a little lost, while I spoke?” Tobias offered, “Are other languages easier for you?”
He knew enough English, from all the students that came from abroad. He also knew sign-language, thanks to Jessie.
With the woman’s blessing, Tobias would continue speaking—this time, in English. He was decidedly less silver-tongued, in that language.
“The story of Narcissus, yes, is the story of your name,” Tobias explained, his English thick with his Japanese accent. If he weren’t obsidian-mode, he might have blushed around the tips of his ears at his own misspoken-ness.
“Narcissus was a hunter,” Tobias explained, “The son of a god. He was very beautiful. He fell in love with his face on the water-“ his reflection, that is, “-and died. Then a flower grew where he died. A, erm…”
How ironic, to tell this story in a garden. Tobias dug for the word in English, but without finding it, he fell briefly back into Japanese.
“A daffodil. How do you say “daffodil” in English?”
Molten eyes drifted back towards Narcissa, the fluttering remaining in his chest. Her dark spill of hair, her proud face—it was no wonder her parents had named her for a thing of beauty. That wasn’t a polite thing to say, though…
“My library is very small, at a school, so I am always busy,” Tobias said modestly, “I do not read as often as I would like to, either.”
Perhaps, one day, he could get a student-assistant, or two, or four, to help with the more menial tasks… but for now, Tobias was the only person available to run the place.
“Some perennials do really well in pots,” Tobias offered, musing aloud, “Like… lavender? And it smells good… bees love it…”

She had to keep up, she just wanted to keep up. Someone talking to her on an intelligent level, not just babying her as some of the ministers did or the other secretaries and as if she didn't understand things. Just because she had accents or difficulty with some words. It just felt like this guy wasn't making her feel like a child and she could not help but smile about it. She felt maybe a little flustered when Tobias asked where she was from and she brushed her hair over her shoulder again, she felt though not immediately that it was something bad, just something to help because he just asked it carefully. Most of the times Narcissa lied about where she was picking Fiji but this did not even cross her mind and she had a frown upon her face, immediately. "Barbados." But that look quickly disappeared because she would always love Barbados, Barbados was her home, her everything but she would never see it back. And she blushed a little more, "I am still learning Japanese." She looked away from Tobias cuz she was a little shy about the idea but trying to keep up, admitting that English was her native language and that it would be easier and to her surprise, he spoke it perfectly for her to understand. Her eyes immediately turning back to Tobias and smiling happily.
Her interest was sparked though when he seemed to know the story about her name. But her name was just as bad as she thought about herself, maybe that's what pointed out why she was screwed over by her own family. She felt a shiver going down her spine, while trying to read Tobias face with his obsidian skin, he said her villain alias but she would never respond to that, her face betrayed nothing, a small smile. "I do have to say sometimes I make the joke that I know I am pretty, but I hope not to drown in my reflection. But the flower is a Daffodil." Though she never had some on Barbados, she had seen them when in England, which had not been often.
She moved her head a little, pointing her chin out and smiling at Tobias, "A school sounds very busy." She bit her lip and thought about it, "So should I ask you for recommendations?" She walked next to him on a slow pace as they continued to the sale and the conversation after a little silence turned to a conversation about what she would be looking for and she explained her situation, only having a balcony. Though she had quite a big one, there was no need to say something about that so Narcissa just mused over the idea of lavender, "Sounds nice, I remember the smell being relaxing for us humans as well and it is good for bees. Why not." She looked at the plants around them, "Do you have eye for something specific?" What more could be interesting about this man?

and yet you're the prettiest vision here THE WOMAN CONFESSED THAT SHE was from Barbados—a Carribean Island. Were they one of the islands that spoke Spanish? Or French? Or perhaps English? It was such a gamble, for Toby to start prattling-on in English. But the absolutely luminous expression that crossed her features was worth it. He smiled back, trying in-earnest to stay focused on the story. She made it hard to keep any semblance of linear thought. God, I’m like a teenager all-over again.
Toby laughed as Narcissa remarked on her own name, and the joke that she sometimes made about it.
“See? You already knew the story of your name,” he remarked, clearly pleased, “You knew, without knowing you knew.”
Something about this conversation thrilled him—it made him more bold than he usually was—more keen on saying things that he wouldn’t typically want to say.
“I think… that you can be beautiful without being vain,” he hazarded, “You are… very… reasonable! To me!”
And, at the last second, he chickened-out. The implication was there, but Toby couldn’t bring himself to be that guy. You know, that guy that made unsolicited comments to girls in public. Ew. It wasn’t a good luck for anyone, particularly an apparent-mutant.
He could feel his face growing hot beneath its outer crust.
“What kind of books do you read?”
It was a common question for a librarian—and much safer than almost accidentally telling a stranger that they were beautiful. Tobias shrugged his shoulders when asked what plants he was looking for.
“I have no… specific plant. I came here to see what they had.”
Gosh, he hoped that made sense. So many of the students spoke Japanese well enough, that his English was admittedly really rusty from lack of practice. And it was difficult to remember all the names for all of the flowers, particularly ones where Japanese hadn’t borrowed the word.
For a guy with an American mother, his English was admittedly horrible.
“Dahlias are my favorite flower, I think,” he explained, “I like their shape. If they have dahlia’s I will buy them.”
His garden was, of course, already filled with dahlias, though. They were perennial plants, and Tobias took rather good care of them.

It was so strange, today. Today she felt in her natural element, which was partly why she had gone towards this place but to bump into someone that would talk to her in her own mother tongue, made everything so much better. It felt like she was heard, found maybe even and just generally being around someone intelligent and calm and gentle? She only knew him five seconds, calm down. She just felt so lost and unheard ever since she arrived here. People trying to use big words at her and she just kept making that mask only thicker and thicker, who was Narcissa King in the end? (A buzzkill, that's who she was). She smiled and brushed her hair aside and could not help but laugh a little softly when Tobias did, "I only knew the big lines, I didn't know Narcissus was a demigod? Would you call it that as a son of a god or not?" Now that she thought about it, she only knew Narcissus fell in love with himself and drowned in his reflection. Too many complications to make her look stupid but now that Tobias had told her more of the story, she was actually curious to ask such questions. But yea, she knew without knowing and she actually looked a little surprised, it was only visible in her eyes, but it felt like a compliment, a very clever one at that and she blushed a little. The obvious look of surprise came when he complimented her. Oh Narcissa was a vain one but being called beautiful, as that was the indirect message, right? (Did she read too much into this? Highly possible). She smiled and looked to the ground with a happy smile on her face. Pressing her lips together to not grin like a stupid high school girl, she was thirty come on. Calm down. "I think I like being reasonable." Her brown eyes looking up to Tobias again, the smile simply didn't leave her face. Mentally she eye-rolled at herself, come onnnnn!
He was kind of cute, she liked how he managed to catch himself, would that make him a gentleman? She was actually kinda happy to bump into a man that although he seemed to want to say that she was beautiful, caught himself. She did not mind, she actually liked it. That's why she made the little tease without thinking about it and looking away again to walk on to where the sale might be. They did not have to walk with a quick pace, they could just enjoy this right? She looked up a little, more to the sky now than to Tobias as she thought about the answer. Hm, what was her favourite book? "Can a real reader pick a favourite book?" She decided to ask his question with a counter-question and she looked serious at him. "Because I think about what do I read, I think I read a bit of everything, I think I like have a love-hate relationship with romance stories, but I do like thrillers best. The ones that make you curl up in a chair with a good cup of tea and just read for hours." So she did answer his question but she wondered again if you could have a favourite, it was not directly related to his question but it was a question based on what kind of books you read, if she bumped into a bad romance, she would stop reading such for a while etcetera.
She also jumped to the conversation of plants and asked what he was looking for, his answer surprised her and made her laugh. "I like that approach." She had not even thought about the sale, didn't know it and yet now that it had been brought up, she immediately wondered what to buy, if anything at all. She patted her cheek with a questionable expression on her face as she tried to remember Dahlia's. She had from time to time looked up flowers, especially those that could be used for names, like her own. "Aren't those the big bulb flowers? With the pretty colour patterns?" How could you ask the best and she formed her hands in a circle that was quite the size of the big flower before dropping the form and just holding her own hands, she felt a little silly.

and yet you're the prettiest vision here TOBIAS BASHFULLY RUBBED THE BACK OF HIS NECK, rock scraping against rock.
“In English, I don’t know,” Tobias said simply, closing his eyes, “In Japanese it’s a ‘demigod’ though… using the kanji for… ‘half’ and ‘god’.”
Of course, the woman’s embarrassment was only met with more embarrassment on the man’s part. He’d tried to back-track out of the unsolicited compliment, but it’d take an idiot not to notice that the compliment had been given. And this woman had already proven herself to be very smart.
He pocketed his hands, shrugging his shoulders at the woman’s question. Oh no, a voracious reader—the hardest one to find new books to read for. Thankfully, she narrowed her books down to genres—romance (sometimes) and frequently thrillers.
“What kind of thrillers?” Tobias insisted, “Supernatural? Crime? Or… something else?”
He wasn’t an expert on the romance genre, able to supplement his own lack of knowledge with recommendations from a burly, romance-devouring second-year in the Literature Club.
The woman tried to recall what “dahlias” were, mimicking the bloom’s magnitude with cupped hands.
“Yes, yes!” Tobias agreed. He held out his own hand, one palm skyward, “And the flower, it looks like this-“
Using the index finger of his free hand, he traced a spiral on his own palm, starting at the center of his palm and radiating outward.
“What’s the word for that shape?” he asked, tracing the spiral again, “Like a rose.”
It was kind-of silly, two grown adults, holding their hands out as if waiting to receive communion from one another.

Narcissa nodded and thought about it, whispering the word under her breath, though Tobias would hear it. She wanted to pronounce it well, it was not a word she would soon use but it was just interesting to learn words and their pronunciation. She would not say too much about it, she wasn't always too happy about the story, maybe she was vain because of the name. If that was the case she was really cursed with a name and a wrong position. Their conversation continued which made her bashful and yet she was also flattered, she was sure that he would have complimented her if he would continue to talk in the route he was going but she simply smiled at him. She hoped she did not make matters worse because of actually acknowledging it a little in a jester way and she looked at him a little but she felt a little stupid about how she handled that. What you mean vain and aware of it.
She asked him a question but would continue about his question. Narcissa knew from her own experience that not everyone was happy to answer a question with another question so she tried to be a little casual and told him honestly about her romance books that she would like to read but she rather read thrillers and she thought about his question again and tried to look casual and thus shrug. "Mostly crime, but sometimes supernatural." Sometimes that was so tied that it happened if she picked a book and at the beginning, she would not realize it was supernatural but it was interesting to consider, "And what would you like the most as a genre?" Maybe he could recommend something as he would do with the flowers for her balcony so that was something. She liked advice in a sense that it helped her in subjects she wasn't very good at but wanted to learn more from. She just did not take time to study that.
As they spoke about the flowers and the dahlia's he mentioned, she tried to show with her hands the form and the size of the flowers and she blushed and smiled happily when Tobias agreed. She looked at his hands, still curious about his quirk but she wasn't going to ask as she hoped he wouldn't ask her either and smiled yet as she looked. "Oh yes, ehm." She thought about it. "Feather founded?" She wasn't sure if there were different names and sayings for the compound form of the rose but she tried to explain it a little and she did not want him to think she was stupid, anything but. But she would drop her hands behind her back and feel bashful and would walk a little more towards the sale.
