A soft hum escaped her lips as she watched the landscape of Musutafu's suburbs pass by. With the special-made earphone piece that Tetsuko had gotten her for her birthday, Elise was able to enjoy the comfort of music while also being aware of her surroundings. It was early in the morning when she had left her apartment to go to her 'other' work. After all, while she might be a member of the Public Safety Commission, she was also a master surgeon and a well-respected doctor in the medical world. Indeed, despite her young age her recent achievements had allowed her a certain sense of influence when it came to the hospital. Perhaps it was for that reason that when she paid the taxi fare and exited the vehicle, that when she entered through the entry for staff personnel that nobody had tried to stop her.
No, instead the young lady greeted like their colleague, some were friendly enough to say hi and offer some small chatter, others seemed more respectful and merely nodded in greeting as she passed them. It reminded her of a saying: Respect isn't something you can just demand, it is something you earn. But the reason she thought about that saying would be for another time, for today Elise was simply here for a visit to one of her recovering patients. After reaching the changing room she placed her bag in an unoccupied locker and changed into her doctor coat, and a short walk later would have led her to the floor her former classmate, now turned into her patient had been situated.
"Hello Saito~ Glad to see you didn't try to escape through the window upon hearing my arrival." She smiled playfully at him and dipped a hand in the pocket of her coat, leaning against the door of his room. "Report suggests your recovery is proceeding on schedule. To be honest, it likely would go even faster if I was allowed to apply my personal medication but unfortunately, Quirk usage is currently limited to life-threatening situations so no heavenly juice for you."
She swooped her phone out of her pocket and seemingly pressed a button, flashing the screen at him. "And now---" She paused as the screen turned dark, suggesting her phone turned off and she put it back in her pocket. "No chat, no bartering, I might be your friend but in this case I'm also your doctor Saito, which brings me to the following."
She took a step closer, a hand sliding the door shut behind her as she continued. "Your body's resilience is admirable, and so is your ability to cope up with the strain, or at least in terms of public image. But I saw the inside Saito, I saw those injuries of yours, the consequences of having a quirk like yours... the pain and stress it can bring is something that doesn't only affect the body, it also eats at one's heart, their mind and such injuries are not so easily mended by medicine."
She sighed softly and took a seat at the edge of the teenager's bed. "What I'm saying is: Make sure to talk Saito, whether it is to me, who obviously will do her best to assist you, or someone who you feel comfortable with. You don't have to cope it all up and suffer silently."
She stretched her arms into the air and looked back at Saito. "From your former classmate into your doctor, quite an unexpected twist, wouldn't you say?"
