Deep breath. Every step she took now, was to better herself. Even if she had access to the same luxuries at home, it was small things that make the biggest steps. She could have easily bought all of the equipment she needed, especially with the excess supply from Jess. But time spent outside of her home would allow her mind to rest. A change of scenery. Even with the proper tools, she lacked the knowledge of proper training for her own body. She could read directions of how to use the machine, but how would she know how often or how heavy to set weights? Sure, she had read a few exercise books but they only got so far. Besides, she didn't have a pool at home, which the more she thought about, the stranger it seemed. A mansion with no pool? "Small steps." she thought to herself, laying a hand on the door as she opened and entered. A violet tank top over her body, and a loose and too large windbreaker wrapped her arms. Track pants that were a bit too small, having been bought some time ago, and the cloth wraps that covered her feet, just like a tabi. She knew better than to walk barefoot, especially in the city. A bag slung over her shoulder as she walked inside. Bandages wrapped around her neck, hiding the soft wounds she had created just the day before. She walked within, looking around for what she might see. A nice lounge area, a receptionist. She nodded, it was impressive. Past it, her eyes danced over the edges of the machines. There was so many to choose from. It was large from the outside, but based on how it was, it had to be no more than two or three floors, at least for members. Maybe a small area underground with a pool, or a top floor for management. It certainly was a sight to behold. Kasey smiled as she made her way to the desk, her eyes lowered, confused as to how some of these things still worked. "Excuse me, hi. Uhm, I would like to use the facility? What are the rates? Does this place have stages of membership or is it all included in just one package?" Questions, all of which she hoped she would get an answer for. BUt time would tell. It wasn't like the owner would be around to hold her hand. Oh that would be so awkward. ~ Word Count: 414 ~ |

Still no receptionist, and with now everything picking up, vigilante nights, baby nights, administration and scandal, she was literally working out her articles while sitting behind the reception. Most of the time already existing members came and she would just have to say hi and she could click her screen away if someone from the trainers would come and join her behind the desk. The screen was after all, not visible for the members that just came in. She got absorbed in her work as she was focused on a word that she had in her mind but couldn't come to the point, what was it again that she looked up from her stupidity when someone spoke to her and she felt her mouth fall open. This was Macabre right? No wait, she had not seen the woman in more than a year, she was probably making things up. Should she... should she tell G? She quickly pushed the chair a little away from the corner with the computer to give her attention to the new customer. Ehm, where to start, right with her question. This pushed her off, she swore that this was someone she should know but she wasn't sure where to begin or if she should ask? Well if it was her then she would recognize her, after all it was Macabre that had dyed Hanako's hair back to black. Right, how about starting with a hello.
"Hi and welcome to the gym." She tried to relax, just smile and talk to this person as a new customer, things would figure itself out. "We have two different memberships, one for just sporting and one for signing up for the extra facilities such as the group classes, the pool and massages." That is what she had realized in the little over a half year that they started, that either people wanted everything or only came in to train and only focused on that, though they had a small upgrade in the normal membership that would allow access to the pool. But she could explain that always later, "So it depends on what you want to use the most or what kind of training regime you are looking for." Hanako explained politely. She should focus more on her job here instead of having doubts in her mind, "I can give you a small tour if you want to see how it works here."

Looking up, her eyes fell upon a ghost of her past. Black hair remained still, only to show that she had maintained a trend that Kasey had started for her. Her mind drifted back to that moment. The suit she wore, she was sure she still had it. She was pregnant then, did she have the child or had it become more complicated than that? Army of Bones. She knew darker alias, but how much did she find out. Gigi. No, she probably knew as much as he did. What was the point of hiding anymore. Her eyes shot down, staring blankly at the counter as her thought raced. Was it her place? Or was it theirs? Maybe simply she only worked here, but that would be hopeful wishing. Hanako. Out of all of the faces, she might have been the lease preferable choice. Even the green haired- "Oh, there's massages too." she repeated to herself, nodding with the prospect. Though, the idea of someone else touching her left a sour taste in her mouth. All of the scars, all of the wounds. The small branding and markings that covered her body. Maybe it wouldn't be so bad, but the thought of someone else's touch only reminded her of what she had to go through to get to where she was. She was once a glorified pawn, a lab rat. Now, she sat a queen with a stolen crown. "I don't think..." She looked up, over all of the machines and things, before closing her eyes and exhaling. Who was she kidding. Even if she didn't want any time alone with her, she had to put it beside herself. Anything else, she might as well left and went to another place. At least here, she was safe, right? Maybe she would have a chance to see... No. She shouldn't fill her head with ideas. She should avoid the family at all costs. So why did she still stand there? "Well... uh... Actually that would b-be n-nice.The feeling of being watched suddenly rushed over her. As if everyone there knew her secrets. If anyone truly knew the extent of her past, she would have been sentenced to death long ago. An act that would quickly divulge into discarding all of her personas for a single mask; Army of Bones. It would leave her with no other option than to do what she needed by force. There would not long be more death to follow, before it was punctuated with her own fall. And what legacy would she leave behind? Who would finish what she started? Would she even finish her task? A final death to end all? Or would she just make room for a much greater evil to take his place? Would she fail, and not die, but kill the one destined to end her own life? She shook the idea as she set her bag on the table. She unzipped a pocket to take out a small and plain pink wallet, before removing her black credit card. "Wait... do I pay now or later?" She couldn't think straight. Could you blame her? ~ Word Count: 524 ~ |

She was sure that the young woman recognized her, Hanako could have sworn that her eyes lingered on her a little longer before trying to be casual as if they never met before. She would puff and pout, but she was more professional now. She would pout and puff later, she wasn't sure what to think either, there was so much to think about a past that everyone wanted to forget right? Not that it would ever happen and she looked shorty from the corner of her eyes towards the baby monitor. Right, she would have to see that it would go right but at the moment, this was just any other customer. "Sports massages mostly, so people can relax or come here to relax if they strained a muscle and so on. You can update the cheapest membership we have with just that or just pool access for example." Well as the young woman wouldn't admit that, Hanako was sure that her; I don't know was something about walking out the Gym to separate their ways again. At moments like this, you would notice how big Tokyo was and the surrounding territory. But at the time Hanako offered a tour around and she would leave the baby monitor around and beckoned another of the working people to keep an eye on the reception while she would make her tour around the machines first before pointing at the stairs, "Let me show you the classrooms we have upstairs, which is for quirk practice as long as it's decent and not destructive."
She would go and show the classrooms on the dancing floor and so on. She opened the door and this was exactly why she did it, the room was now practised with a small class of students that practised their Martial Art skill, the teacher and the only one facing the door was G and she waved at him shortly before turning her attention back to Macabre and see what she would do.

She hated everything. No matter how much she tried to make a difference, it was like all of her mistakes stared at her. It was the feeling of seeing your high school sweetheart's new wife, your replacement after all of those moments shared. Only, it wasn't a romantic love. It was a reminder of a family she could have had, maybe in a different life. Maybe if her own parents loved her, but perhaps that would change the chance of it happening. IF she was honest from the start, maybe things would have been different. Maybe she if she avoided Sato, she could have been happy with them. But how could she avoid the man that had practically created her. How could she avoid the reporter who could have easily brought him down if she wanted to. She could have. "Why hasn't she?" The thought echoed in her mind as she tried to put words together to pretend it was all alright. She fell silent as the suggestion for a simple upgrade was made. But she wasn't sure what she wanted. She wasn't sure if she should have just left. She looked at the door, pondering her choices. If she wanted Kasey to leave, she would. She would never appear again. But instead, her head hung low, and she held onto her bag tightly. She nodded, following the woman as she led the way. She would be led down the hall until she was faced with a familiar face, one she instinctively looked away from. The woman waved, and Kasey was sure it was done out of spite. She looked at the ground. "M... Maybe it's better I leave." she would finally say. "I-I'm s-sorry. To have bothered you, Hanako." She would give a soft bow, as she hung her head, out of view from the man. She turned away, ready to leave. None of it felt right. She wasn't welcome anywhere. ~ Word Count: 322 ~ |

No reaction, there was no name sharing no anything and if Hanako wanted Macabre to feel safe and sound here, no matter what, she would just have to keep pretending along right? Or was she waiting for her to say so? Hm.... what were the consequences of everything she was doing? There was a list she did not want to make about that. She was being mean, Hanako knew that about herself, showing her first the second floor, showing a class that was giving by G. Obviously Hanako had planned it to see if Macabre would speak but considering the opposite happened, she could facepalm herself. Okay she had been very very mean, "Wait." She quickly closed the door again and hurried after her. "I am sorry, but you didn't say anything and I wondered if you would speak if you saw him- saw Gil." She did not know yet, she did not connect everything yet, she had no idea that the woman that had helped her was the same woman here, the woman to suggest abortion or offering up her child, but she did know that the owner of Pink Jackal there was the same, "Kasey, stop!" But that was up to the woman of course if she would. The thing was Hanako did not know what to say or how to make it better, she could not remember everything G told her months ago, the situation had been very difficult, she had been like a sister to him, but what now? She had disappeared for months, maybe even a year, how would they be able to rekindle if that was even possible?
Hanako just hurried down the stairs, not always the easiest with her legs, they worked but that was about saying the most of it, she was getting better with training but the recovery could take quite a while, even almost after a year. "I am sorry that was mean, I just didn't know what to say myself and I hoped you would open up." Sometimes she wished that she was someone completely different, same life, but just less harsh for anyone including herself, but unfortunately, you could not easily change that.

She hated it all. She hated remembering it. To remember a life she could never once get again. Everything reminded her of it. It had become her standard for living. Yet, no matter how she tried to move past it or change herself it lingered. "He'll come home and greet me today." He wouldn't. Why would he? He never lived there. He wouldn't see her again. Why should he? He had a family. And she wasn't a part of it. She listened to the footsteps as they neared and instinctively winced at her getting close. She looked away, gripping the strap to her bag tightly. Her breathing begun to speed up, her heart racing. She slowed her steps until she finally stopped. She stood in the middle of the stairs. Wondering if she was to leave, or remain. She wanted to leave, every bit of her, but not her heart. The only organ in her body told her to stay. There was no voice, only silence. It was her decision, and Setsuna would not get involved. ". . . Why would I open up." She would say. She refused to turn. Her eyes closed as she tried to steady her breathing. The last thing she wanted was to hyperventilate around these people. "I didn't come here for him. I didn't come here for you." She took a breath. A long slow inhale, then out. A long slow inhale, and out again. She moved her foot backwards, and twisted her body, a half turn, still not looking at the woman. "I came here, because I wanted a healthier lifestyle." Exhale. Inhale. Exhale. She opened her eyes, to look at the woman. "Honestly, it would probably have been a lot easier if you just. . ." She nodded, and sighed. Her grip released as her hands fell to her side. "You don't have to pretend to be nice to me. It would make perfect sense for you to hate me." She would have preferred it that way. It would have been easier. She could have destroyed her life, but Hanako didn't. Why? She was sure that she figured it out by now. She didn't know what to say, yet everything came out without her thinking about it. She waited so long to say something. "I'm honestly surprised you didn't expose me in your paper." She turned around again. It didn't feel right. "If I knew it was his kid, I wouldn't have told you that. It was messed up. . . " her eyes teared up, and she was thankful she couldn't see it. There was a lot to be thankful for. She was thankful she wasn't turned away. She was thankful they were together. She was thankful she didn't ruin everything, for them. But still, she harbored sorrow for herself. It was just how her story was written. "Just..." She lifted a hand, almost to wave goodbye, but she stopped herself. None of it was right. She turned around, looking back at her. She looked at her hair, and smiled, "Don't forget to retreat your hair your next session."And she stood there. She just couldn't find the strength to leave. Not yet. ~ Word Count: 524 ~ |

Hanako flinched a little when Kasey said that she did not come here for him nor for Hanako. Obviously people did not come to a gym for the owners but did you not greet people if you knew them? Hana was a little confused but not entirely sure what to say as she did not want to push her away anymore. Considering her snarky remark about it being obvious would not help. But she did not say anything, some manners in journalism had taught her to be silent and the person would talk on and you would learn what they thought or wanted. In this case thoughts. Hanako lowered a step on the stairs when she listened, frowning obviously but she did not get it. Why would she not be especially nice to Kasey? Didn't expose her in her paper? What?
She took a step back up the stairs. Kasey knew she was Scandal, they had talked about that quite a few times and she had no idea what the silver-haired girl meant with that comment. Expose what? But this time Hanako did not want to remain silent only she could not produce the words. The next words made her sit on the stairs, didn't know it was his child but she had not seen Kasey when she was pregnant, she had not seen Kasey her alter ego named Macabre at that point. She had only spoken to two people she had no idea about who they were, one was Meiko, she knew her now and so on. The other was Army of B-. In the underground chat, no one had been so helpful, to offer an abortion or taking the kid away and she felt herself turning pale. "I still- that was you?" Obviously people did strange things but this was why she had not exposed her as Hanako had no idea and she wasn't entirely sure what to say, in the end that had not happened, it had made Hana realize she did not want to get rid of the baby, but boy did she want to hold on to Kai now very badly.
"You did not know and I did not know, is that not a sign to start our lives anew, I don't want you to be pushed away from this place because we are here. There are high chances you don't bump into us, but if you want to, you can. I am sure it is fine, it's good to have a healthy life style and I don't hate you."

In her mind, it was just how things were. If you ended on bad terms, or unclear, you weren't familiar anymore. You weren't people. There was no reason to play pretend as if you were nice to each other. If time had passed, there was no reason to apologize. You had to respect the time that passed. It was why did dared not to say her name, nor ask for special treatment. She was just a customer now. But now... that had changed. She hated how easy it was for people close to her to turn on her. She had watched betrayals left and right, but some lives were simply too important to cut short. Even if Hanako exposed all of Kasey's secrets, her solution of killing would not sit well. She was at the mercy of the woman, and that along made her uneasy. She was a slave to her own thoughts, her own rules, her own ideals. There was nothing she could do. She could never lay a finger on that family. It wasn't because she wasn't able to, or strong enough. She could have easily murdered them a thousand times over but... "We do not harm our family." the voice chimed in, a silent observer, speaking only in small moments. Hanako, even if not by blood, was still family. It was something Kasey would not forget. Just like the green haired woman, even if that ended in flames. Everything was uncomfortable. Even to admit to herself she needed to change, to give herself a new environment to grow in was a big step for her. Now, before that obstacle, stood another. "I don't." She would say, her voice trembling. "N-not anymore..." her words begun to break, but she did her best to hold herself together. "You two have a f-f-family. . . I'm n-nnot a part of it." She lifted a hand to dry the tears that had yet to fall. She didn't hate them, she never could. She had a warped sense of reality, but she understood what love was. Love was giving up everything for someone else, and not expecting anything in return. She had given so much, and had only expected hate and ill feelings. But it seemed, it was not the case. All she wanted to do was lift heavy weights, but it seems the heaviest weight to be lifted, would be the one the sat upon her shoulder. ~ Word Count: 404 ~ |

G was there doing a relatively simple martial art lesson to a bunch of losers. It was a relatively boring day. That is, until the door opened up. His arms were crossed and he looked at the person who opened the door. It was Hana? Why was she here? Well, she waved, so he waved to her back. But what was she doing here? Getting a better look he saw there was someone with her. He didnt get to see who, but whoever it was, they didnt speak up nor anything. A shy one?
Well, for a bit he gave them a moment to themselves, but eventually curiosity got the better of him. He told the class to just practice and then he left the training room to see Hana. But upon exiting, he not only saw Hana... but Kasey as well
"Oh... hey there. What brings you here?" G asked Kasey, he then looked at Hana. He wasnt sure what to say or do. Is that why they didnt enter his room. He looked back at Kasey and decided to say more "Long time no see.... how you been?" It was best to forget the past and start anew. Hopefully Kasey is better then before. Last he remembered... she wasnt good. But she didnt really approach him for help, so he figured she got shit covered

Hanako the destroyer.
She should not have said anything, she should not have opened the door to wave at G and well... deep down Hana had known she should have calmed down with everything she was doing, but she had not. It was normal, she couldn't always tackle it, push it down and hold the fort. She did not know what to say, yes they had a family and G had said so much about Kasey and the fact that it was her that night. She really was at lost for words, also because she did not want to make matters worse. "Even if we have a family, that doesn't mean we cannot see you from time to time?" The whole story about his sister that wasn't his sister (like his kids that weren't really his kids), made it so difficult because she had not met Kasey as Kasey and so many things had happened. It has been about a year since she last heard from her or heard about her. Definitely not a common subject to get out of G and to talk about.
She still stood on the stairs, looking down on Kasey who had tried to get rid of her, but Hana knew that she had to fix this and then she heard a voice and looked at G. She gave him a wry smile and looked at Kasey again when G's attention was pulled back to him too. If she was herself, not being aware of the destroyer part that is, she would now hold G's hand and lean against him. But Kasey was afraid they were a tight family and she wouldn't be able to talk to them anymore or anything and truth be told, Hana was split but that did not mean she didn't mean what she said. They could start anew right, meeting here from time to time and see how it goes. What else could she say? She looked up at G again as he asked how Kasey had been before turning the attention to her feet. Getting G's attention had been a very mean move. So she would not hold his hand, she would not do anything to show off as a sort of trophy husband, nope, she would remain standing on the stairs and look at either or her feet, to be safe. To not destroy this and make matters worse. What would Kasey prefer?

Things had gotten complicated in a matter of seconds. Instinctively, as the silver haired man made his way to the white haired woman, from either side of her face the membrane over her skin would extend and shell over her. Her face, smooth and featureless like a simple and plain mannequin. She didn't want to see him. She didn't want him to see her. It had become such a mess, and all by circumstantial coincidence. If she had known, she really would have chosen somewhere as far away from this place as possible. A part of her blamed fate, destiny. But the other half made it seem like she was meant to suffer like this. "You have to face them." His face would appear from within the smooth mask she had made, speaking to her aloud, a muffled sound to the couple that looked at her. A small hand extended to wipe the tears away, only for the mask to fade when the woman spoke again. Kasey's eyes now red and puffy, she looked at them both, or at least tried to. Her gazed fixed on their clothing, for it was easier than looking at them in the eyes. "Exhausted." she would answer to him. "And you shouldn't." She would answer to her. She sighed, trying to gather herself before just sitting on the steps, a half turn to still look up to them. Looking up. Maybe in a way that was the reason for all of it. She looked up to people who could be happy no matter how fucked up things were. He renounced his evil deeds and now was a symbol of hope. He taught kids how to be better than just heroes. A success story of the century. She held her position working with villains and heroes alike, voicing herself on strong matters no one else would talk about. With her words, you just listened. Kasey? She was always going to be a criminal. People dismissed her. She was invisible. No one saw her. No one, but them. She held onto the sides of her arms, holding herself close. "I-I'm r-really not in a ... g-good place." she would say, struggling to find the words. She was a recovering addict, but someone who saw a strange justification in their actions. As if hurting themselves brought the world a bit of joy. "I'm not h-h-healthy for your family."Your family. Their family. Kasey didn't have a family. Even at the sight of her sister, the closest thing to herself, her own blood, she felt more alone. To learn about the truth, only to find there was nothing left. And she left too. To the few she kept close, she felt fake, an impostor. Maybe she was, or maybe it was all in her head. But it was a feeling she could never work to get rid of, it would always exist. She would always be a fake, because she was. She never wanted to be the person she was, but she knew too, if it wasn't her, it would be someone much much worse. ~ Word Count: 516 ~ |

Kasey looked like she was gonna break down and tear up. It looked like she avoided him,she didnt wanna look at him. Thats the feel he got. He asked how was she, to which she answered exhausted. And then she turned to Hana and answered her. Granted he didnt hear what Hana asked. Kased sighed and sat on the steps. She held onto the sides of her arms, holding herself close. She stuttered as she spoke. She wasnt in a good place. She isnt healthy for their family. G walked over to her and sat beside her and put a hand around her "You can try to be tho? Why not give yourself a chance? Change comes from within. Of course you cant change if you're a naysayer." he said and tried to cheer her up and motivate her.
He turned then to Hana and looked at her, nonverbally asking her for advice and help. G really wasnt as great as Kasey made him up to be. He wasnt a success story of a villain turning good. He sees himself dancing on that fine line between good and evil. He snapped at Shinigawa and most likely killed. He sees himself as a villain gone soft. He was just a guy.

She was the destructive one, so how could she bring up that this was fine, that it was okay to try and fail and try again if she was the one that would immediately say no? She really felt bad for what she did, how she concocted this and how matters spiralled down very quickly. How G watched her for help but she could only stand there and mildly shake her head. This is what Hana had done, not what Kasey had done, so she was the last person to ask how to fix it. She still had her arms crossed in front of her chest and wondered what to say or how to start talking at all. It annoyed her for some reason that G came, sat down and wrapped his arm around Kasey. There was so much to say and yet words were missing or just non-existent. She tried to calm down, she wasn't on a high horse, she was just insecure about this and a little hurt about her own stupidity.
"I agree, Kasey. If you want to you can try, wanting to is already the biggest factor of trying to do something you think is difficult or impossible." She had no idea what else to say, on the other hand she wanted to say Kasey did not have to change for them, they had not seen each other in a year, so why would they suddenly contact each other now? But that was juts Hanako the destroyer talking so she said nothing more than what she had already said and just remained standing as the only one. Also why were they having this drama... right because she thought she was smart and funny but now they where having drama on the stairs of her gum, their gym. Please, she had promised G no more drama at work and she had already ruined that promise.

She saw the good in everyone and everything, with the exception of herself. She could not see anything good within herself. It was all darkness. A black pit that fed on feelings and leeched off those that lived. She was a survivor. She didn't live. Not in her sense of the word. There was nothing to enjoy, everything had a reason for being. In the few things she enjoyed, it was just tools for other people. Why should she enjoy herself and be used, when she could just be a tool to herself? That's all people were. They were objects used by other objects and objectified by systems and ideals. That was how a society functioned. She was a broken tool who tried to fit in with a pristine collection of shiny new tools from a matching set. She was rusted, chipped, and worn from use. They were polished, refined and well kept. She didn't belong with them. She knew that. She didn't want to be around them. She didn't want to be a part of any other set. She didn't want to ruin another family."No, I'm a fucking failure..." She said it aloud, She tucked her face into her knee as she held her fists on the side of her head. She wanted to run away from it all and never come back. Maybe she should have never returned. All of it was a mistake. There was so much to say, so much to do. Everything she did was wrong. She would never fit in. She would always be replaceable. "I can't be a hero. I can't even be a good villain. I'm bad at being bad, and no one wants me to be good." It was over a year ago, but still, even as the owner of a massive company, she beat herself up about losing the simplest of jobs. A janitor fired for saving lives? What made her less than the heroes? Should she had let those kids die? Was that the policy Japan wanted? She would still have her job right? A janitor that let kids die? No, janitors cleaned up messes. Japan was a mess. She was going to clean it. She was going to start by killing villains, but after all this time, they were nameless few. While she tried to plan it all out, more and more people died. She wasn't even good at doing that. As Macabre, all she would end up doing was fighting other vigilantes and getting in their way of justice. No heroes grew stronger, no villains killed. A waste of time. All of it. SHe was a waste. With his arm around her, she would flinch at his touch and pull away, but not enough to shake him off if he really wanted to be there. Truth was, she really wanted to be there. But she couldn't let herself. Not emotionally, not mentally, and with it, not physically. "I want..." She tripped over her words. She wanted to talk, but the words didn't want to come out. "I just..." She took a breath, her hands lowered as they wrapped around herself in a ill attempt to comfort herself. "I just want to be healthy." she would say, "I really don't want a family anymore." Her voice meek, weak, and laced with a broken spirit. She was exhausted of trying so hard. She just wanted to be free from it all. She just wanted to live for once. But she had so much work to do. At least, she could do that right. "Families hurt too much."A twin sister. A brother. A sister. A father. A mother. Family was family, but it always hurt to leave them behind. ~ Word Count: 621 ~ |
