Today was the day. Just as he had done so last year, Kenshin would once again find himself agreeing to be an instructor for the Weapons Workshop at Shien's Dojo, something set up by his good friend and sword rival, Tetsuko Shindou. Seeing how fun it was to do so last year, there was no way Kenshin would turn down the chance to do this again. And of course, the old swordmaster Tenkabito Shien was more than fine with letting his dojo be the setting for another lesson in swordsmanship for the students of UA. After having had his dojo saved numerous times thanks to the Shindou girl, it was the least he could do as thanks.
Naturally, the boy would wake up very early and head to the dojo in Musutafu as soon as possible. Wouldn't want one of the instructors to be late now, after all. He was dressed in his usual outfit for when he visited the dojo: a dark red hakama and white gi. Though despite his best attempts to make it to the dojo early, it seemed that Tetsuko had made it sooner. But no worries, this was not a contest or anything.
After greeting and respectfully bowing to the two, Kenshin got to work setting everything up in his designated area of the dojo. He got a variety of weapons ready in a duffel bag, all practice weapons of course. Swords, spears, staves, rapiers, that was but a few of the wide variety of weaponry available. All had been inspected and checked to see if they were in pristine condition. In addition, there were also various protective gear. Safety first! And finally, a few training dummies set up for demonstration purposes.
With his wooden sword in hand, Kenshin began to practice his kenjutsu as he waited for the students assigned to him to arrive. Of course, they would all see Master Shien first upon their arrival, and the old swordmaster would cheerfully welcome them all into his dojo. Once the first student showed up (or all of them if they chose to come together), then the boy would stop his sword swinging, facing the students so they could greet him and he do the same.
While the boy himself was a vigilante and thus operated outside of the law (not that anyone outside of a select few were aware of that), unlike the students of UA who were training to serve under the law, Kenshin would of course be willing to teach these future heroes anything he knew that could prove to be useful to them. Though he possessed many powerful skills and techniques, Kenshin did not mind sharing some with the students if it could help further their dreams. After all, they all ultimately had the same goal in the end: to protect the people and help keep Japan safe from criminal scumbags. If there was any way Kenshin could help the students, he would of course not hesitate to do so. That was why he agreed to help Tetsuko with this in the first place.
That, and it was a hell of a lot of fun. Kenshin was definitely looking forward to a good day of instructing. I'm very eager to get this thing started!
