The sounds of kitchen tools being used and food cooking could be heard from the common area, reaching a good distance away in the dormitories. The smells of bacon, french toasts, eggs, and even the light scent of various fruits wafted across the first floor. And, of course, the light whistlings and occassional squeak could be heard as well, giving a rather obvious indication as to who it was making all of the smells and noises.
Jack moved almost like he was on autopilot. Using his tail to cook and flip the french toast and chop up fruit, using one hand to prepare the eggs and bacon, and using his free hand to check on his phone, to see the daily updates in the chat and the news. He wore a sleeveless red shirt, which showed off his glimmering scales on his arms, and baggy blue pajama pants. His feet were bare, for once, giving a rare view of where the scales on his legs stopped. At least he didn't constantly have dragon feet, he supposed; that would just be annoying.
Nonetheless, as he made a light update as to what he was doing, Chimera was quick to take up the opportunity. Jack smiled warmly at the thought of his goaty friend, glad that he was able to spend more time with him before he moved out. However, his eyebrows raised slightly when he got a DM from Chimera, mentioning how he was actually wanting to talk to Jack about something. If Jack could sweat at that moment, he would have been. He wondered what it was about. Was he going to talk to him about his relationship with Saito, or rather the lack of one? Did he do something bad on accident? He didn't THINK he had done anything...he simply shrugged, deciding to just let it come. He was sure it couldn't be anything TOO bad, right?
As Chimera would head down, Jack would already be ready, giving his friend a nice, hefty portion of eggs, french toast, and a big bowl of fruit salad. He didn't know if he wanted any bacon, so he held off just in case until his friend asked for some. As he would make his way down, he would be greeted with the sight of the small dragon boy, smiling widely and warmly at him. "Aloha~! How's it going, Chimmy?" he asked cheerfully, giving the goat boy a hug. He's always been the cuddly sort, of course, but with Chim and some other close friends specifically, he was most certainly one to show his affection. Besides, nothing wrong with a warm start to a conversation, yeah?

376 WC Fwiends | It was kind of weird visiting the dorms nowadays. It was like going back to a house you used to live in as a child, and realizing that somebody else was now in your room where you used keep all your things, and it was their space now instead of yours. The common area itself didn't feel like that, of course, but if he went upstairs to where he and Yojin's room had once been, then it would be weird. Just coming to visit though was still kind of funny. Especially on the weekend when he didn't need to even wear his uniform. In just a black t-shirt and red jeans Chimera pushed the door to the dorms open and was instantly hit with "breakfast" smells. His stomach made a noise that he prayed was too quiet for ears besides his own to hear. He'd eaten, like, not that long ago. His metabolism was just an asshole sometimes and always wanted thirds.
Hopefully it meant he was growing. And not just his damn horns.
Jack already had a plate for him ready as Chimera padded his way up to the kitchen area. "Howdy," he greeted, smiling a sharp grin before he was quickly hugged. Chimera blinked, muzzle warming in a way that irritated him--Really? Now every guy is going to make me go "EEP"? Can I just go back to being oblivious? Urgh. He placed a large paw on top of Jack's head and mussed up his incredibly spiky hair. Man he was short. "Going good. That smells awesome. I didn't know you cooked that much?...with your tail?" He blinked, noticing the long white and fluffy appendage was wielding a spatula. Huh.
Saito usually cooked in the dorms now...or, well, did when he wasn't sick. So ten days off his own cooking hadn't need nearly as nice, or fun...but that sort of thinking just made him feel sour, and sad, so he pushed it aside for now.
Man, Jack really was small.
Good distraction, brain. Thanks. Killer job.
"How's the start of year two treating you?" Chimera took the plate offered to him with one paw and looked around for a fork. One was probably around.

Jack couldn't help but giggle lightly in response to Chimera messing with his fluffy hair. As he would do so, the very lightest of bony bumps could be felt, even unknown to Jack himself. The two were slowly gaining another thing they had in common, save white fur and hair. Thinking back on it now, his goat friend was probably one of the first people to really show Jack any sort of real kindness, save Charlie and Hye. The much taller student was someone Jack considered to be like a brother to him; someone he could rely on if things went south for whatever reason. He supposed he sorta picked and chose who he could really consider like family; though that could just as easily be him being overly emotional, as per usual. Meara was right; he did need to work on that more.
Nonetheless, he also giggled when he noticed that Chimera was a bit red in the face. "Sorry, did I scare you?" he asked innocently, not really thinking much of the reaction. As an apology, Jack offered him his plate. "Do you like bacon by the way? I kept it off just in case, I don't know your diet entirely," he asked, handing him the fork he seemed to be looking for. With his response, he would set the plate of bacon down on the table itself, before sitting down with his friend.
"Y'know, I'd say it's a pretty solid start. Not too much drama, but eventful. Grades are good, finally confessed to Meara...life is good so far!" he replied happily, thinking about everything that had happened so far. His mind stuck onto Meara for a minute, the small boy having a bit of a goofy grin and a blush on his face as he thought about her. He knew well that she was out of his league, but he didn't really care. He was probably one of the happiest people on Earth right now, and nothing was going to deter him from that!
He quickly shook off the thought, focusing on the here and now for the moment. "But enough about me, how've you been doing Chimmy? What did you want to talk to me about?" he asked his friend, pouring himself some juice into a glass, then pouring another and sliding it to Chimera. He would listen to what he had to say first before he started eating; it would be rude to just start eating when a dear friend had something important to say, after all!

565 WC Saying it can be hard | Chimera opened and closed his mouth a couple of times trying to come up with a way to say no that didn't sound like a total and utter lie, only to realize that in doing so for too long it just made it that much worse. So he just sighed and pushed Jack playfully on the forehead until he was released. Hm, he had a weirdly bumpy head, didn't he. "I eat anything. Benefits of being partially carnivorous and part herbivore...I guess that's just being an omnivore, isn't it." Chimera took the plate and started to sit down at the nearby table, keeping his body positioned towards Jack even when sitting.
"You're lucky. My start into year two was full of drama." Chimera idly tapped at the plate with his claws, the memory momentarily making him not want to eat, but he also told himself to wait for Jack to be seated as well. It was only polite. The mention of Meara made him smile wider, before said smile turned into a smug little smirk that showed off his teeth. "I tooooold you she liked you. You know what, I can't even make fun of you, because I'm pretty sure you guys are still the fastest to go from mutual unaware pining to an actual relationship in, like, the whole school. It takes some of these nerds, like, what, half a year?"
Though Angie might have gotten a close second, a little part of his mind was oh so helpful to remind him, and suddenly his appetite was hiding again.
Urgh.
As Jack sat down Chimera readjusted, not yet touching his utensils as he considered everything he wanted to say. Did he want to say everything to Jack? Yes, Jack was his friend and he trusted him to be there if need be, but Jack also wasn't great at keeping things subtle. He wasn't worried that he would let slip to the school what his sexual preference was--given the entire student body (or at least the third years and some of the second years) already had guessed he was gay, this felt more like a formality than anything.
But telling him about Yojin? About Yojin, and Angie? About...that?
He's my friend. I told Saito and Charlie. And they're way closer to Yojin than Jack is. He wouldn't say anything, if I told him not to, wouldn't he?
That's what friends do. They keep secrets.
...but by God, Yojin, you've set a high bar for secret keeping.
"Well, um," Chimera started strong, which was to say not at all strong, his voice coming out softer than he wanted it to before he cleared his throat, "I've been doing alright. I had, uh, kind of an epiphany doing the sport's festival actually. Or maybe it was more like I finally was able to admit something to myself that I hadn't been comfortable or...thought possible to, before then. I don't know. You might not even be surprised by it?" Jack wasn't that dense, though, was he? That would be even denser than Chimera had been. Which would be a feat and a half. Chimera drew in a small breath, then smiled nervously.
Come on. He's bi. There's nothing to be scared of, except for say it aloud.
"I guess I just wanted to tell you that I'm...gay?"

Jack lightly smirked at Chimera as he told him that he could eat just about anything. "You would be correct there, amigo. Though you could be someone like me and be primarily carnivorous. Gotta love weird Quirk diets, amirite?" he said, chuckling a little bit and getting the plates all ready. As he would sit down, Jack did think more on his odd diet. He primarily had to eat equal amounts of red meat and chicken, along with the smaller portions of fruits and vegetables. He wasn't picky by any means, but he did note how weird it was. Hey, at least if he got the protein and fats that he needed, he couldn't really complain. Not with abs like his.
As they would sit down, Jack would go more into detail about the start of the year. He couldn't help but get an extremely goofy grin as Chimmy pressed the issue a lot more, even noting how quickly they got together. "I mean, we've been sparring partners for a while before all the flirting, and even then...I can't help but think back on it all, y'know? We just kinda...clicked over time. She's strong, and tough but sweet, and..." he said, stopping himself as he started to get a dreamy look for a moment, his face having a light blush about it, the dragon boy even emitting a weird sound like a bird chirping and his regular purrs. He was weird.
Nonetheless, he would snap himself out of his trance after a moment and focus back on the conversation. He asked his friend what he wanted to talk about, and silently prayed that it wasn't about Saito. Chimera took a moment, before going on a bit of a long-winded explanation behind it all. Jack listened intently throughout all of it, leaning forward with an innocent curiosity about him. He was patient, letting his goaty friend get to his point at his own pace. Clearly, whatever it was was important...and Jack already well had an idea as to what it was. A light grin formed on his face as he anticipated the drop, ready to support his friend the moment it came out.
And, of course, it did. Or, well, Chimera did. Jack's smile grew even wider and he let out a happy laugh, getting up and walking over to his friend, placing a hand on his shoulder. "Well, it's about time, amigo! I was wondering when you were planning on coming out. I'm happy for you, mi amigo!" he said happily, though not too loudly. Jack was more pansexual himself, so of course he would have no judgement over anyone's sexuality as a whole, much less one of his best friends.
Of course, now another curiosity filled the dragon boy's eyes. "Sooooooo, how did you find out? Who's the lucky guy you've got eyes on?" he asked, sitting back down and starting to eat as he would await Chimera's response, his tail wagging like a happy dog's at this point. He wondering if it was like the jokes were suggesting and it was Yojin, but for all Jack knew it could be on someone like Burabura, or Saito, or somebody. No matter the response, Jack was ready to support his friend however he needed to. All he had to do was, ask, really.
