Cause darling I'm a nightmare dressed like a daydream Who knew the world was so big? The past few days had been more than overwhelming for little Remy. almost his entire life was spent living on a Government facility, and as large as it was, nothing came close to getting the young male ready for what he was going to see. Traveling outside of the base, the private airport, THE JET! He was just happy his nanny, MArlene with him. She was sweet, and kind, and patient along the entire trip. She explained what everything was and gave him time to explore and play. It was the best adventure ever. Remy was surprised he was allowed to go to school, let alone a school all the was in Japan! But he was worried about Momma and Papa, he would miss them dearly, and though he was a innocent boy, he understood that his mom sent him to this school to save him from the pain. So that made him worry that Papa or some of the others would hurt mama... But she was tough, and so Remy knew he had to be too! He would learn how to use his powers and be a good student and come back and show them all that quirkers are people too! As rode in the cab his large eyes were wide, his pale smooth face hanging out the window, his white hair blowing wildly as they drove. "Whoaaa! look at the tall buildings! HIIII EVERYON- OH!! WHAT A CUTE PUPPY!" Remy yelled towards people as they drove past the crowds on the streets. Remy had never seen so many quirkers in one place. It seemed that almost every other person had sme type of obvious quirk or mutation of sorts. Remy's hands gripped the window of the cab and his large eyes closed as his body began jostling. It started as a small giggle, and suddenly erupted into a violent blast of uncontainable laughter. The boy stood up, his hands out of the window as he stood half way out the window and half in the cab. "I LOVE THE WOOOOORLD!" He shouted. The cab driver noticed and neverously shouted "H-hey kid get back into the car! You're care taker will kill me if anything happens to you!" Remy couldn't be bothered to listen to the chubby man who nervously yelled at him. Remy was caught in one of his laughing fits, the loud, innocent and scratchy laugh filled the air as they pulled up to a large school. Remy had seen it before, they drove past with Marlene, when he first arrived, but he wasn't allowed out of the car. Before the Cab driver could even speak the boy climbed out of the window of the cab, his red slippers stood on the door of the cab as he stood in the window, his back against the roof of the cab and skinny arms jet into the air. "REMY'S HOME!" He shouted excitedly as he jumped off the car, paying no attention to the driver who was yelling some silly things from the cab. He sounded angry, and Remy had no time for any of that. Remy had a school to discover. His wide crimson eyes looked around slowly. Remy wore black slacks that came up to his shins with yellow and pink leggings peeking out from underneath. His pastel pink dress shirt was half tucked in and half untucked from all his movement. The sleeves rolled up to reveal a pattern of green with yellow drops. He wore Red and yellow suspenders that held his slacks up, not bothering with a belt. The boy was very brightly dressed, and the colors seemed to clash and match all at the same time. More noticeable to most were bright red stitching that came up the middle of his torso all the way up his neck in the shape of "x"s, as well as stitching that wrapped around his right arm and hands, then on the right side of his lip and lower eye lid. The look almost gave him the appearance of a eerie porcelain doll. Remy looked around excitedly before pulling a crumbled up picture from his back pocket. Looking over the picture he saw the image he made familiar in his mind, which was easy to do. Her name was apparently Mia Kearney, also known as "Red Horn" and she was supposed to be showing him around the school and what not. Remy smiled looking at her picture, the large horn on her forehead, the sharp teeth and large ears. She looked so cool, he wondered what she was like. Remy pushed the picture back into his pockets and put his arms straight out on either side of him and began running towards the entrance of the build. Moving from side to side in long strides and making airplane noises as he ran. He truly was child like in how he acted. But there was a keen mind in there, and sometimes a dangerous one. These are warning most of the staff probably had about this odd boy. Including documentations of his psyche evals his mother had on him, they were also informed he was 'tested on' but the details of that were left out due to it belonging to the government and not being able to get clearance and risk her husband finding out she was sending him away. So the staff would know, that he is a friendly and good hearted boy, but has had a very troubled past and has 'psychotic' fits from time to time and can become a danger to himself and others if not watched carefully over. As Remy ran towards the school he looked for the red horned lady who he was supposed to meet. This was the beginning of his new life, and she would be his first friend! The last time Remy felt this excited was when he first got his puppy Truffle. Life is good now. Mia Kearney ● 1,003 ● muse ● If you have any questions feel free to ask! MADE BY VEL OF GS

Mia leaned her back against the wall, idly flipping through the file she’d been given. She could have used one of the seets in the lobby like area of UA buuuut… she didn’t really trust them to hold her weight. After many accidents she’d developed a strong sense of what she could sit on and what she couldn’t without snapping it in two, and so she perched herself against the wall, lazy red eyes flowing through the file…
God she swore she could feel her muscles shrinking as her mind was soaked in boredom.
She knew she had to do this. She kneeeeew she had to be a good example and prove to the government she could control herself for a while before they let her out in the field again but… godammit teaching here was already babysitting duty as most of the kids seemed to know their shit the moment they stepped in the door? Why was she being given the even more LITERAL baby sitting job? Ugh… well she was good with kids. Least, she thought she was, so maybe this wouldn’t be all that hard. Maybe. Who was really to say. Ultimately so long as she didn’t fuck up anyone other than herself during her time teaching here she could consider that a win.
The kid she was waiting for, according to the file was… more than your usual case. Psych evals… testing… ugh please. Please don’t let it be another Angel. She physically raised a hand in prayer hoping she didn’t have to deal with another awkward kid who dropped their ‘dark depressing backstory’ onto her the first time they met. She still had no idea how to react around Angel anytime the kid pretended the two of them had a connection cause… what. She foisted her dark past on her one time? Yeah. No. Please none of that…
Still, with the sound of the automatic doors sliding open and… childish airplane sounds homing in, Mia reached out a curious arm and with quick reflexes, her palm enveloped the top of this rascal’s head as they rushed in, quickly lifting them off the ground as their legs gave their last little kick, Mia quirking her brow. Features easily recognizeable, turning the kid around by the head and placing them back down infront of herself, leaning back against the wall as she looked them over once or twice. “Well… I take it you’re Remy huh?~”

Cause darling I'm a nightmare dressed like a daydream As the doors slid open and Remy ran into the building his large eyes went wide with excitement, the building was fairly large, He was about to yell something in his excitement when he felt a rather large hand wrap around his head and lift him up off the ground. His legs continued moving comically in a running fashion as his eyes shifted from the building to the large lady in front of him. His eyes went even wider with excitement as he began to giggle. His eyes closing in a smile as he felt the woman place him back down and lean back against the wall. Hearing her speak he began nodding his head fervently. "Yep! That's me! And you're... Uhh..." He quickly pulled the crumbled picture of her out of his pocket and looked at the back to see the name once more, in his excitement he had forgot it. Oh... Red horn, that should of been obvious. He laughed nervously and decided to call her by her real name instead. "Mi- Ms. Karney! You're really strong! And you're horn is so pretty!" He said clamping his hands together in front of him and laughing in delight. He had remembered it was polite to call adults by their last name. So that's what he decided to go with mid sentence. The woman in front of him hulk over him easily, Her appearance was actually kind of scary, but that made Remy kind of excited. She must of been really strong! And if he was paired with her she was probably SUPER nice. Or at least that was what he hoped, though part of him feared that she would be like his father. There to experiment on him, cut him up.. Remy shook his head and smiled innocently as he obviously looked over her body. Raising his hand to his lip he tapped lightly on them. "You're really pretty! Are you super strong or something?" His eyes went wide and he jumped into a childish fighting stance. "Are YOU gonna teach me how to fight and stuff?" He laughed as he then spun on his hell and smiled up at her. "After the tour I suppose... This place is big! I'll definitely get lost. So... Thanks for the help Mia!" He smiled then his eyes went wide and he shook his hands in front of him "I mean Ms. Kearney!" He corrected himself nervously. Remy's pale cheeks turned bright pink, he was nervous. This was his first interaction with anyone in the school and he had no idea what to expect. In reality... He was frightened out of his mind. He laughed nervously and scratched the back of his head. "So are you really a teacher?! or are you some sort of body guard? OR ARE YOU A GENERAL?! oh no! Should I have been calling you Sir ... Or ma'am this whole time?!" It was clear that Remy was very nervous, He reached up and began tugging on one of the threads attached to his lip, pulling his lip away from his jaw nervously. Even Remy could tell he was nervous, he usually was carefree. But he had no idea what to expect and was completely out of his element, and that fear still lingered. What if people here treated him like his father did? What if this wasn't a safe place after all? To the usual person Remy might just seem flustered and nervous. But if someone had a keen eye and was able to read people, they'd be able to tell he was just a scared little boy. MADE BY VEL OF GS

“Er… Miss Kearney. At worst.” She offered back with a light chuckle at the kid mis-pronouncing / spelling her name the first time. He’d loop back around and fix himself up by the second turn but she wanted to nip that mistake in the bud. She was already enough of a show without being called a litteral ‘miss circus act’ by mistake. Still the kid was bubbling with energy and she could already appreciate that, meeting his energy with a bright smile of her own as she folded her arms over her chest, just kinda… observing this bundle of energy for a second. “And I’d hardly call myself ‘pretty’ either, even down to my horn. Impressive, but hardly pretty.” She’d offer with a playful wink atop her own self-compliment.
Still, he seemed to be a bit focused on the pretty thing, making her scoff and roll her eyes a bit. Jesus what made UA accept this kid? Like, fair enough, she remembered a similar case from the first year it opened. They basically seemed to act like daycare for teenagers with quirks who didn’t know how to handle them now and then, but at the same time this kid was… they were a good kid! But Mia was just not getting the impression they were ‘hero material’. Good on UA for giving them a place to learn and grow but the career at the end of it… it likely wasn’t for this kid, unless they grew up a DAMN lot on the way there. “I might if you end up in my class, but otherwise? Nah. I’m not the combat class teacher. Most I ever do is fill in with her. I’m more here to teach you the basics of what you’re here for, and even then, I’ll only be doing that for you if I’m still here when you hit year 3.” She answered honestly and cleanly, hoping she wasn’t confusing this hyperactive bundle.
When they corrected themselves, she smirked. “Nah. Mia’s better. Always hate when the Japanese get all formal with last names and crap. Come on.”
As they paniced Mia let out another chuckle and a shake of her head. “Again kid Mia’s fine. I’m normally a pro out on the streets but… well I’m teaching for now. Nuff said there.” She’d start to walk through one of the halls off the main entrance, pausing at the desk and handing Rem their student ID card. “Hold onto this. Lets you through some of the doors. Gotta keep this place kinda secure these days.” And on they went, Mia tipping her head back to ask. “So, You gonna be staying on campus? I can show you the dorms first if you like? Or maybe the training halls? You seemed like you were pretty eager to learn how to fight.~” She teased idly with a mild smirk, curious what she was gonna make of this kid going forward as he seemed like he might calm down once the tour got some momentum.

Cause darling I'm a nightmare dressed like a daydream “And I’d hardly call myself ‘pretty’ either, even down to my horn. Impressive, but hardly pretty.” As Remy heard this he put the thought in the back of his mind, Remy honestly did find this large muscular woman pretty, and the large red horn was very pretty indeed! Maybe she would let him put some lace on it, something that would contrast the brilliant red color, but also something to compliment her hardy form. Maybe a nice black leather! Remy giggled to himself with excitement, though he didn't mention the idea yet. He would try to warm her up to him first. “I might if you end up in my class, but otherwise? Nah. I’m not the combat class teacher. Most I ever do is fill in with her. I’m more here to teach you the basics of what you’re here for, and even then, I’ll only be doing that for you if I’m still here when you hit year 3.” the boy's lips turned into a bit of a pout as she delivered the bad news. It seemed she was JUST here to give him a tour, maybe they didn't really trust him so that's why they put her in charge of giving him the tour. Maybe she was to take him out if he did something wrong. He fiddled with his suspenders nervously. Wondering what she was told about him and if she was ready to squash him like a bug at any noticed. He was used to being punished servery by papa if he messed up in his presence after all, maybe she was like him in that manor. Remy was Delighted when she told him to just call her Mia, and though he knew that probably wasn't the best idea he still decided that's what he'd call her! Remy began to follow her, his nerves still on edge as he followed her to the front desk and took the Student Id from her. He looked down at the picture and giggled to himself In the picture on his ID he was making a funny face. It made the photographer very upset, and made him retake the picture. But Remy was having much too much fun making the funny faces and seeing the worked up man getting aggravated with him. So He made a funny face for every picture until the man gave up and sent Remy on his way. “So, You gonna be staying on campus? I can show you the dorms first if you like? Or maybe the training halls? You seemed like you were pretty eager to learn how to fight.~ The simple face that she was asking him what he'd like to check out brought a small smile back to the nervous boy's lips. His crimson eyes glancing up at her as he could feel the excitment bubble up within him. "Yes! I will be staying here in the dorms. The training halls seems very exciting!" His lips curved into a playful grin and he put his hands on his hips and puffed out his chest. "I never knew being a pro hero was actually a thing! But I think it would be a lot of fun!" He said as he jumped into a fighting stance and began shadowboxing in place "But I'm gonna have to get a lot stronger If that's gonna happen!" He laughed and put his hands behind his back and titled his head to the side. "What made you want to be a pro hero?" He asked curiously. And though he had an innocent smile on his face, he was still trying to figure this woman out. What type of person was she more like his mother, more like his father? More like the generals at the base. Did he have to worry about her, or would she eventually be a friend? Or maybe even a mentor! There was still much to figure out. And though Remy was excited to make friends and to be a 'normal' kid. He knew this world could be a cruel place, and he didn't fully trust this place yet, nor the people around him. But no one would be able to guess that by how he acted. MADE BY VEL OF GS

She watched the disappointment form on his face as she made it clear what her role here was, both for the day and as a teacher in general. She wondered if they actually knew who she was and if that lead to the disappointment, or if they just felt she’d made that good a first impression or something. Either way she had to admit it was kinda cute seeing ‘em pout, but she’d make sure not to ‘tease the new kid’ about it or anything, shaking her head with a light chuckle at most.
“Sorry to disappoint kid. Just the way it is.” She re-iterated.
Mia herself only noticed the funny face on their ID when she handed it over, scoffing again in disbelief at the kid’s energy and how adamanet they must have been during the photos to get a funny face like that on their ID. Ya know what honestly it probably worked in their favour. No shapeshifter would know how to properly mimic their face when it was contorted in such a goofy way, so if they stole the kid’s ID it would probably end up doing them some sort of a favour… “Nice picture.~” She teasingly commented. “Mine’s not as impressive.” She pulled out her own ID. It was a lot more formal, but Mia didn’t look happy. She was told to pull a neutral face but it definitely came out closer to a scowl.
Seemed they’d be staying in the dorms, that’d be good for them. Probably best they walk around those first then, or at least get round to it before Mia forgets. “Heh, yeeeeah it’s fun alright. Hard work. Strict work… but it’s hella fun.~” She offered across a sly smile and a tooth grin to boot, her tusks showing a little from across her bottom lip.
Asked why she wanted to be a pro, Mia continued to walk towards the dorms but showed a brief sense of Pause. It was an answer she knew and one she always gave, but still, it was a nice thing to remind herself of… even if a little bothersome given the reasons for her current situation. “I… Like to fight. Simple as really. I mean that’s why I became a hero in the start. My reasons have changed since… I liked fighting. The thrill of it. The guttural feeling of punching someone and feeling them punch back. The glory of coming out on top… I mean like I said I’ve gotten better reasons since. But I became a hero initially so I could fight bad guys. Cause they’re the only people you can really fight when you’re as big as me and not seem like an asshole…~ How about you?”

Cause darling I'm a nightmare dressed like a daydream Remy looked at her ID photo and laughed lightly as he tilted his head curiously. She looked nutueral, but also frustrated. Remy's mouth grew into a wide grin and he gave her a thumbs up. "I Like it! Give you the big tough-guy look!" He said innocently. He then thrust his hands onto his hips and gave his best scowl he could, his eyebrows furrowing and his eyes squinting and his lips curling into a half scowl, though he was trying to hold himself back from laughing and that was also showing on his face. The final product looking more like a kid trying to imitate a tough guy, rather than actually looking tough himself. After holding it for a moment he burst into laughter. "What did you think? Did I look tough?" He asked chipperly, he hadn't realized it but he was already beginning to look up to this woman. She was the first real adult he had actually talked to in this country, and she was treating him kindly, and seemed to be super strong. He was beginning to want to be like her. As Remy walked with her his steps were, a bit comical. He took large animated steps that made him look like a toy soldier marching in some type of child's game or a play of some sort. His pale hands were shoved into his pockets and his head bopped back and forth as he listened to her speak. Cause they’re the only people you can really fight when you’re as big as me and not seem like an asshole…~ How about you?Remy listened intently, half walk through her response his animated walking halted and he began to walk more normally, his wide crimson eyes looking up at her, taking in every word she spoke like a plant soaking in water during a drought. There was something she said that resonated with him. Though he pushed this side of him down, there was a part of him that wanted to fight, that wanted to use his powers to rip people to shreds. Remy's steps slowed and he stopped walking. He looked down and moved his foot against the sidewalk they were walking on. "I.. I don't know. It wasn't really my choice to come here. My momma sent me here... She wanted me to be somewhere I can learn to use my powers for good. and... " His words trailed off as he thought about his father and the torment he put him through every day with his tests. His lips curving into a small smile and he began to giggle. Though this giggle sounded a bit more twisted than the usual happy child he had seemed over the past few moments. "papa wasn't too nice.. Maybe I'll become strong enough to give him a taste of what pain feels like.." His hands had balled up into fist within his pockets, his small frame shaking lightly. Then, his body stopped, and his head snapped up and his wide eyes looked up at her happily and his normal smile was back on his face as if he hadn't even said what he said. "I'm just excited to make new friends really!" He said before spinning in a complete circle on one foot before continuing to walk in his 'animated soldier' walk next to her towards the dorms. Mia scoffed softly at the kid’s attempt to hold a scowl, wondering what might be going through his head making him imitate a face like that but rolling her eyes with a smirk all the same as they continued walking. Mia was a high energy person when it came to fighting and the like and she could have a good laugh, but with someone silly like this kid she found herself a little more on the low energy end of the scale by comparison. Still in a good mood but mentally just struggling to keep up with whatever must be going through the kid’s head. “Eh, it was passable kid I’ll give ya that.~” She continued to watch the steps they took, like a kid trying to avoid cracks in the pavement, another soft chuckle flowing out of her at the amusing sight.
After opening up about her own reasons for taking up the job of a hero she’d listen in on the kids with a modicum of respect, tipping her head to the side as they seemed to takje a moment to thinking about it. He slowed down even to a stop, leaving Mia a step ahead, turning on the spot to offer him the respect of looking him in the eye as they spoke. He seemed a little caught off guard almost by her own answer, and in turn how he should give his own.
“Mmm..” She didn’t know how to feel about him supposedly being forced here but… she heard a few other UA students were in the same boat. That lightning girl in the third year afterall. She wasn’t forced here but she chose to come moreso to learn how to use her quirk than to become a hero. Mia knew things were different for her now but it didn’t change her reasons for coming in the first place. “Well… I can’t really say much on your Papa, but take it from me. Revenge seems sweet on paper… but it’s sour on your tongue. Whatever they did to you, stooping to their level ain’t gonna help… and whatever your reasons for being here, you’rehere now. Like it or not your on your path to being a hero, and I’d say you gotta think real hard on if hurting your papa back after all this is something a hero should do…” She let out a heavy sigh, rubbing the back of her neck.
“Geeze… barely a teacher and I’m already givin’ lectures.”

Cause darling I'm a nightmare dressed like a daydream Remy's large smile slowly faded as he heard her words. “Well… I can’t really say much on your Papa, but take it from me. Revenge seems sweet on paper… but it’s sour on your tongue. Whatever they did to you, stooping to their level ain’t gonna help… and whatever your reasons for being here, you’re here now. Like it or not your on your path to being a hero, and I’d say you gotta think real hard on if hurting your papa back after all this is something a hero should do…” The words blew past him like a chilling breeze. But was something that he didn't completely understand. Of course a hero would hurt his papa right? After all his father was a abusive, manipulative man, who refused to see Remy as his son as soon as he found out that he had a quirk. He had tested on him every chance he got, and would do the same to any other quirkers he got his grubby hands on. The boy's eyes looked down as he thought about what she said before looking up at her and smiling, this haunting little smile, like something you'd see a doll do in a horror movie. The fact that he was so pale and had stitching on his face didn't help at all. "Okay, Madame Kearney.~" The words that slithered from his mouth were almost as haunting as the expression on the boys face. Very sweet, yet very sinister. As if hiding something. The truth was, the boy's mind was a tangle of emotions and thoughts that even he didn't truly understand. He loved his papa, he missed playing with him, and the storied he would tell, and his laugh. He wanted to be a family again, but there was something inside the boy that was twisted, maybe even broken. This was his mother's truest hope with sending him here. His mother, a psychologist could tell Remy was a mess, he was on the verge of either becoming someone great, or someone truly awful. Her hopes were that this place would help him to become a true hero, instead of a crazed lunatic. Remy's head cocked to the side as his normal sweet smile returned to his face, though, maybe it might seem less sweet and innocent to her now? "I'm excited to see my dorm! I wonder how many friends I'll make! wait, ARE YOU MY FIRST FRIEND HERE?" the boy shouted excitedly clasping his hands in front of his chest and looking up at her eagerly. But before she even had a chance to answer the boy grabbed her large hand in his small pale one and began to run, attempting to pull her in the direction of the dorms, of course if she resisted he would simply fall back on his rear. Mia… hesitated, when she heard the kid confirm with her words, her brow rising a bit as she took in that distant tone and that curdling smile… if she was honest she knew a certain kid on Japan’s most wanted list who could probably pull off a very similar tone and expression and a rock sat in the pit of Mia’s gut. Odds were this kid just… wasn’t socially prepared, they didn’t look like they’d really experienced the world yet or the nuances of morality but… nah. Fuck it. That was a creepy smile however you diced it. She just ended up, awkwardly mind, patting him on the head and trying to turn her eyes… and his, forward.
Luckily he seemed pretty engaged by the idea of seeing his dorm and Mia had a bit of a chuckle at being called their first friend… maybe he was just a socially awkward kid, and she of all people wasn’t about to pass rash judgements. “Well I dunno about friend YET but we’ll see how we go kid. But come on I don’t mind showing ya.” Deciding to be a little playful, she tugged back on the arm he was pulling, grabbing a hold of his and yanking him up so he sat on her shoulder. She already had to duck through the odd doorway or two in this school but now she practically had to crouch when they got into the dorms, moving through the common space a little carefully so he didn’t bump his head.
“Okay so ya got the common space, this is just where you kids can hang out and study more as a group or something if you want to, not much to threat about. So long as everyone plays a part in keeping it tidy it’s pretty much for everyone.” She offered him a warm smile up on her shoulder, a hand idly holding the side of his legs to keep him stead, and crouching down again when she found one of the empty dorms he might be able to call his.
The layout was pretty simple, it had a bed set up, a desk, a few drawers. It wasn’t big enough for a full on wardrobe but there’d be plenty of space to fold up clothes under the bed or in the drawers, and room to add or remove furniture as needed. “This is the standard set up. You can basically shift it up and decorate it however ya like so long as ya keep the necessities… watcha think?”
