Gabriel stretched his arms and yawned, tilting his head from side to side to loosen up his neck as he got up from his spot on a rooftop. Getting to Japan had been relatively easy... the tricky part had been finding a place to stay once he got here. Especially when he didn't have enough of the right currency to afford room and board.
Thankfully this part of Tokyo had enough spaces for people like him to make their own, and some who were willing to look the other way for a hand here and there. He glanced over to the hanging line of washing and went over to check how well they'd dried over the course of the day.
"Hmm... Miss Tanaka's lot looks about done. But Miss Miyu's... Hmm, should probably suggest she entertain less guests next time if she wants it all to come out properly..." the white haired teen mused as he began to fold the different residents washing and place them in the allocated baskets by the rooftop door. Officially as far as the building manager was concerned, he was just a homeless punk living on his rooftop. Unofficially he provided a sort of... security for the tenants who lived and worked here.
With the laundry sorted and done he turned his attention to the sun on the western skies, finding himself leaning against the rooftops ledge. No matter how many times he watched the sun travelling the sky towards the west here in Tokyo, it still never ceased to lose its beauty. The refracting light from the skyscrapers and hotels as it turned from pale yellow white, deepening to the red that described this district... It was almost poetic in a way.
A clattering sound down below broke the reverie however, causing Gabriel to look down into the alley to the buildings left. It seemed that a pair of businessmen had finished work a little early for the day, and had started to party earlier than they probably would too. Drunken idiots were not usually his concern, however this pair had decided that a woman in a long dress carrying a shopping bag was clearly up for work at this time. Gabriel leaned over so that he was in clear view of the two men harassing the woman. "Oi! You two suits piss off! It's far too fuckin' early in the day for you to get in trouble with the missus!"
One of them looked up and attempt to hurl a bottle towards him, rather pathetically as it practically just slipped from his fingers and smashed against his foot instead. Gabriel chuckled at the sight of the suit hopping in pain, the woman nodding up to the white haired teen before she made her way inside the building. "You... you brat! Look what... Look what you done!" the uninjured suit called up, sluring his words horribly so. "Scare... scared off our date!"
"Buddy, your face did that plenty already! Now piss off!" Gabriel yelled back, the two suits waving their hands angrily and dismissively towards him as they stumbled away to cause someone else trouble. The teen sighed and rubbed the back of his head. "Buggers should really learn how to hold their drink. Seriously..." he said to himself with a chuckle, turning his head as the door behind him opened up. "Oh hey Miss Tanaka. Clothes are sorted for you there. Miss Miyu's as well... but think she'll need to put them through again." he said with a nod towards the dark haired woman who chuckled in response and nodded in return. As she picked up her washing and began to leave, some notes "accidentally" dropped to the ground behind her.
This was another part of the unspoken arrangement he had with the residents here. He'd keep an eye on things for them from up here, and in return they'd give him some tips from their own takings. He waited about a minute before he made his way over to collect his money, going over it carefully to make sure that none of the notes or coins were stuck to one another. Occupational hazard with this building. Looked like there was enough here, combined with the rest of the weeks earnings, for him to grab one of those buffets at the steak place he'd been eyeing for the last month now.
"Sweet! Full iron chef night here I come~" Gabriel smirked as he pocketed the money and returned to his "patrol" of the rooftop. As the sun began to properly set, the lights around him began to rise, blending the natural reds of the setting sun with the neon rainbow kaleidoscope that was Kabukicho at night. He looked over the ledge towards the buildings door and saw that the usual bouncers had arrived for tonights shift. And with their arrival, his "shift" was finished for now. Gabriel made his way down the fire escape and nodded at them as he passed them by. "Hey Yujira. Heads up, some suits were getting started early today." he called over, the bald man with spikes growing from his head nodding at him in response.
Gabriel walked through the streets as he made his way for the steakhouse, when he heard the sound of breaking glass. Not uncommon in this neighbourhood that was for sure, but the yell that followed was what truly caught his attention. "Come here Quirker bitch!" The white haired teen stopped in his tracks and sighed, looking at the steakhouse in the distance before he turned on his heel and walked towards the alley the sound had come from. As he approached he could just about make out two or three people all huddling over something... Or someone as he soon saw the hooves flailing on the ground trying to kick at the people.
"Oi." he called over, the three men turning around to look at the teen. As they turned they made a gap which allowed Gabriel to see that the one on the ground was a girl, probably early twenties, who had hooves for feet and a long ponytail. The men on the other hand all appeared to be normal... and had a small badge on their jackets. The kanji for the letter Q, in the universal symbol for No over the top of it. Anti-Quirkers. "This a private meeting or can anyone join in?" he asked with a smirk towards the men. The girl's equine eyes began to tear up as the men surrounding her began to chuckle and beckoned him over.
"Never too young to learn how to put these freaks in their place eh?" the one on the left with curly black hair said to his comrades. The long haired man on the right smirked and nodded. The buzzcut in the middle looked occupied holding the girls arms and just made a nodding gesture to Gabriel, who glanced behind himself to the street beyond. It seemed that nobody was watching or paying attention to this little alleyway session. He returned his attention to the three men in front of him and the girl on the ground.
"Well, everyone should know their place in the food chain." the white haired teen said, apparently in agreement with the three men. "Guessing you three aren't Quirkers then? Just get your kicks from fucking and beating them like animals?" he asked. Curly hair just chuckled and nodded, whilst the other two seemed to notice something wasn't right with the way Gabriel had asked the question. But that one moment of near understanding wasn't enough...
In a burst of motion Gabriel's Demon Flesh took form as he grabbed the two closest humans throats, lifting them from the ground and holding them in the air. Buzzcut let the girls arms go and tried to make a break for it, but a sharp pain in the back of his neck stopped him dead. Quite literally as Gabriel pulled his tail from the man's corpse, slicked wet with blood. The pony Quirk girl on the ground stared up in silent horror at what she was seeing.
His baleful glowing eyes regarded the pair he held in his hands slowly, letting them struggle futilely in his grip. "Tell me, to which group do you belong?" Gabriel asked, his voice echoing slightly from behind the carapace covering his mouth. He eased up on his grip so that the two could croak out at least, but kept enough pressure to ensure that nothing louder would escape their lips. "Speak now, and I shall spare you-" he began to say, just as the long haired one spoke up. "The, urgh... the A.Q.A.M! In Musutafu!"
Gabriel regarded the pair for a moment before he nodded slowly. "Thank you... now die." he said, crushing the throat of the curly haired one slowly, even as he placed his iron edged tail to the long haired ones forehead. "W-Wait! You, urgh, you said you'd spare us!" the long haired man croaked out, trying even harder now to escape. "You interrupted me." Gabriel said, with an almost apologetic tone. "If you'd let me finish, I was going to say that I'd spare you a painful death. And I have." he said, the thunk of his tail coming out the other side of the man's head signalling the end of the conversation. He dropped both the bodies before looking down at the girl, and offering her a hand up.
She was shaking as she accepted the hand up. "Down two blocks, bald man outside the front door named Yujira. He'll get you seen to." he ordered as he began to change back to his normal state, heading back towards the steakhouse. "Aren't... aren't you worried I'll..." the girl began to ask, Gabriel wafting a hand dismissively. "Nah. Police don't listen to girls who come in from here, and no heroes come here either." he explained. As the girl ran past him, he snorted as he just about caught the words she muttered. He looked up to the darkened sky and shook his head. "I ain't a hero. Just doing what needs done." the white haired teen mused before he resumed heading for the steakhouse. "Now... let's see how much of the All You Can Eat, I can eat before they toss me out on my arse." Gabriel pondered with a chuckle, licking his lips.
