Leon's ears perked up as he heard a distant humming. A distant humming growing rapidly closer. Following the sound of the noise, Leon's eyes narrowed as hundreds upon hundreds of small silver drones hurtled toward them. Leon crouched low, claws bared and wings spread wide, facing the oncoming drones. His muscles were taught, his eyes already focused on his first target as a predatory instinct in him began to stir.
"Here they come! You ready Nagi?," he asked, sparing a look over his shoulder. "Stay close and watch each-other's back. If we get swarmed by all of them we might be in trouble. I'll try and get a group to break off and follow me, and I'll line them up for you to take them out," Leon said, slapping one of the armored plates on his forearm. He knew he could take some punishment as much as dish it out, so it made since for him to take point.
"Ready? Go!," he shouted, rushing forward at the oncoming drones. As he closed the distance, maybe fifty feet from the lead drone, Leon crouched and leapt skyward, his wings beating in time with his jump to propel him into the air. As he flapped his wings, continuing his ascent, he peered back over his shoulders to see how many, if any, of the drones were following.

Just like it was mentioned before, it was quite clear as to what her intentions were when she hired Leon to be part of her planned duo. Both their quirks were similar; they were mobile, fast and on top of that, they were strong. If they were to be confronting a numerous amount of drones, for as long as they weren't too durable, it should be cheesecake.
'Yeah, cheesecake, for sure.' The girl thought to herself, smirking as she started to ooze out a growing aura of excitement and anticipation.
Following the thirty seconds, she momentarily turned to the voice of their instructor, once more announcing the rules and conditions of the imminent combat training exercise. Destroying meant one point, capturing meant three points. She didn't really want to be holding back for this, and she hoped it was the same with Leon, especially when carrying the temporary power-up they were blessed with.
The robotic-like voice was heard low and distant, after Aquitaine slammed her sword thrice into the ground. That was the trigger, clearly. As Leon warned her, Nagi quickly turned around, narrowing her gaze, sharpening her senses, as the swarm of drones was coming; like a swarm of flies. "Just so you know, I intend to score the most points. That means I intend to not hold back until the very end of this lesson." She explained after he shared his thought of a strategy. As the drones loomed closer and closer, the dark-haired tomboy began to undergo a transformation.
Her quirk was activating.
Pulling back the sleeves of her U.A tracksuit, the girl shows off the bright green feathers forming on her skin. "Take some with you and take them out! Don't waste time in catchin' them...!" She grumbled that last sentence loud, baring her seemingly sharper and pointier teeth as she spoke whilst her golden optics started glowing brighter. The drones were getting closer and closer. With a sweep of her arms forward, almost like in the motion of an enclosing claw, the girl calls the wind to her aid:
A strong gust of air curves down swiftly in cascading fashion, hoping to forcefully send as many drones as possible to the ground and break them.
It begins.

A half-dozen drones had immediately broken off to follow Leon on his ascent. As he reached his maximum altitude he heard Nagi's voice ring out, telling him not to bother with capturing the drones. That had been his plan all along. Neither of them had the ability to bind the drones or otherwise restrain them, and he had a Quirk well suited for a slugfest, so it made sense. As the six drones rose toward him, Leon dove toward them, wings swept back as he let gravity take hold once again.
He sped toward them like a missile, the wind roaring in his ears, blood pounding in his head. Dive toward them, take them head on... Leon thought to himself feeling adrenaline pumping through his veins. His fight-or-flight response had kicked in, part of his body screaming to fight, the other screaming to run. He had seen so many people paralyzed by indecision, unable to choose between these conflicting feelings. Not him, and certainly not now. He was going to fight!
The first drone was nearly in striking distance. Extend my tail for reach...and flip for momentum! Leon flapped his wings, starting a midair front flip, his tail at full extension, muscles snapping taught. The sun glinted off the bony spikes as Leon roared, his spiked tail colliding with the first drone. All of his momentum was concentrated in that one point, severely denting the drone. The struck drone was sent plummeting to the ground like a deadly volleyball spike, but Leon wasn't done. Take the next two with my claws..., he thought. As he finished his forward flip he struck out with his claws, his talons rending tears into the metal surface of another pair of drones as their power cores spluttered and failed, sending them freefalling.
The remaining three drones sped at Leon, but they were coming at him fast. Too fast, have to dodge these, he thought, using his momentum to twist in midair. The first two he successfully dodged, one narrowly passing by his head, the third, however, struck his side with a glancing blow, sliding off the scales beneath his shirt as he grimaced. Still, it felt like a punch to the gut. The pain brought the reality of the situation crashing home to Leon. There were way too many to take alone. As more drones broke off from the main swarm and flew toward Leon to replace their fallen comrades, Leon flapped his wings, arresting his fall and angling back toward Nagi, flying toward his classmate and leading the drones toward him.
"Head's up! Coming your way! I'll line them up, you knock them down," he shouted to his teammate.

Even as she had indeed gotten a much needed boost from their instructor prior to jumping straight into the challenge, that still wasn't enough. Perhaps Nagi had gotten way too confident, as eventually, she'd find that the sheer number of the drones was starting to become more and more overwhelming and even her winds weren't potent enough to push a great number of them down and away from her. Her goal was to mainly take them out, but even whilst small, they still proved to be somewhat durable and resilient, especially against forces like the air itself.
'Crap...! There's so many of them...'
The girl quickly finds herself in quite the predicament, and with her partner away from her, fending off his own chasing swarm of drones, there was not much she could do other than to start having to endure the annoying bumps of the petite flying machinery as they continuously crashed right onto her, pushing her from side to side, almost like a wild crowd of people sprinting desperately for something.
Though, Nagi had more weapons in her arsenal. "Guess it can't be helped." She mumbles to herself, as a loud flapping noise was heard, more so accentuated due to the drones now being suddenly pushed back away from her. From his aerial position, Leon would notice his classmate could also allow the sprouting of her own set of wings, those bright red and green in color, much like the feathers which coat her skin.
"Away with you!" In a shout, she swiftly hurls herself upwards with a strong and heavy flap of her wings, now staring down at the drones which already started chasing after her from underneath.
Pushing her hands forth, she adds an extra windy push against herself, creating some more distance and producing momentum, to flap her wings down towards the incoming swarm of metal, this time sending a slightly stronger gust of wind to send the drones hurling back against the ground, hopefully crushing them with the pressure. Upon her partner calling out for her aid, she grumbles, though she stays composed in the end. 'C'mon... You're better than this...' She thinks to herself, shaking her head once, before turning around and beginning to glide in Leon's direction, noticing the other swarm of drones behind him, tracking her classmate down. This moment was exactly what the young teenager pictured when deciding to team up with the class president; like two birds of prey, staring down their food, ready to relentlessly and mercilessly devour it.
After finding the perfect angle, Nagi valiantly flaps her wings backwards, to push herself forward at the highest level of speed possible, as she launches her arms forward to throw another gust of wind forth and send more drones propelling down towards the ground to get squashed.

Leon grinned as his classmate followed his lead, taking down the drones he'd laid out for them. Teamwork in the face of an overwhelming enemy was critical. He hung in midair for a brief moment, considering his next move. He'd seen how Nagi used her wind gusts to her advantage, combining mobility with ranged firepower. An unfamiliar tickle started in the back of his throat, sort-of like heartburn.
This would be easier if you'd just use it... A nagging thought in the back of his head. Temptation, and a temptation he had long refused. Leon swallowed hard, quelling the fire in his throat. No. Not again, never again. I won't use it. I don't need it. I refuse!, he thought to himself angrily, clenching his fists tightly.
"Hey! Nagi! I'm going to get stuck in. Cover my six, would ya?," he asked, a tone of frustration in his voice.
With a primal roar of anger, Leon sped back into close quarters with the drone swarm, pouncing on a pair of them and driving them hard into the ground. He immediately got stuck-in, fighting his way through the swarm, cutting a swathe through them with his claws and strikes of his tails, leaving rent and crumpled drones in his wake. He shrugged off drones as they struck his armored plates, even turning those into weapons with knee and elbow strikes at the oncoming drones. He'd already shown his teacher his skill in the air, now it was time to showcase some strength and endurance.

Even as only such a short time has passed, the girl had to admit she was already starting to feel rather spent. If only the sheer number of their foes wasn't so overwhelming, then perhaps she wouldn't be feeling this pressured. And surely, the pressure which she feels is taking its toll on her fatigue. The fact she was closing in on exhaustion wasn't merely because of her actions, but also due to all of the many things she has to process with her mind alone. So many things to be aware of, it was tiring.
Luckily, the initial boost she was blessed with by their instructor saved her from running out of all of her gas at that very moment. Little did she know that she was going to be feeling like crap after it's all over.
Turning around to continue flying towards her teammate, she runs away from many other drones chasing after her in turn, watching Leon seemingly brawling with another big number of them. But she could notice that there was something off about him. He was frustrated, and it wasn't only because of the challenge in front of them.
"Right." Nagi mutters to his words, pivoting in midair to cover his back, as she sends another push of air hurling towards the many other drones having been previously pursuing her. This didn't take out all of them though, as her power output still wasn't strong enough to deal with a big number of targets. The rest would face the wrath of her fists, her enhanced strength working to knock the remaining machines away.
Though, more just kept coming, seemingly to no end. "Hmph. Isn't this enough to prove that we can handle bein' outnumbered?" She grumbles. "This is more of an annoyance than an actual challenge now." Nagi boasts.
Even knowing that her stamina reserves were gradually diminishing, there still wasn't going to be any quit in her. For her to prove that she was more capable than any of her peers, the onyx-haired teen wouldn't mind continuing her efforts until her very last breath. "If you're hidin' somethin', let it out already. Stop wastin' my time..." Nagi tells her classmate, who was hopefully still hovering behind her, bringing the conversation back to when she had noticed something strange about him.

The tide of the drones seemed endless, even split among all of their classmates. Fighting at this level of intensity was draining, and the glowing crest on his shoulder was a reminder that his stamina had been enhanced for this encounter. Even with his stamina extended, there was a limit to how much his body could take. His talons were beginning to ache from tearing through so much metal, and he had more than a few sore spots.
Out on the flat, open field it was hard to limit the number of enemies they had to fight at any given time, and brawling in their midst for much longer would wear him down. He heard Nagi call down to him, questioning if he was hiding something. Did her Quirk give her telepathy? Or was he that obvious? Either way, it was a risk he couldn't take. Not here, not now. He watched as Nagi blasted back a wave of the drones, sending them tumbling and limiting the number that could reach her. Limiting the number that could reach her...
Leon's eyes went wide as the idea struck him. He slammed his tail into the ground, kicking up a cloud of dust, and snapped his wings open. With a powerful gust of air he took flight, soaring toward his teammate. He quickly rose to her altitude, hanging in midair next to her.
"I'm not hiding anything, but I do have an idea," he lied, speaking quickly, "Our teacher's Quirk extends our stamina, but doesn't protect us from damage. They're not tough, but there's a million of them. So that means as long as we can keep the numbers manageable, we'll eventually win. But in this wide open field, there's no where to choke them off...unless we work together," he said. "Use your wind blasts to keep the main swarm at a distance. Blast them back--but not all of them. Let a few through toward us. I'll trash the ones that get through. We'll erode this swarm, just the same way the wind erodes a mountain," Leon said, looking over toward Nagi.
He extended a clawed hand toward his classmate. "You with me, partner?"
