James would nod and smile when Hana asked him about having a sibling "I do, I've got a younger sister, it was her 13th birthday last November, she was living with our grandparents in Hiroshima but moved in with me to go to a junior high close by," James explained as he took a sip of water "It's been nice having her around again, it got a little lonely by myself in the apartment," he'd finish with a little smile to himself. When the waitress approached the table James would take a quick look at the drinks menu "Could I just get a cola thanks," James said with a smile before turning back to Hanako and Haruuhi as Haru started to explain how they'd met Let's see how this goes James thought as he listened to Haruuhi's description of the events and she described it pretty true to the events that unfolded, he assumed purposefully leaving out the fact that she went back to his house and showered, but that probably wouldn't go over well with G.
One thing James couldn't stop thinking about was whether he should mention that him and G already knew each other, but since G had said long time no see maybe he didn't have a problem with everyone knowing they already met? Alright fuck it, I'm just gonna go for it he thought to himself "So I've gotta be honest here for a second, it's something about me and G," he said lowering his voice slightly and looking around to make sure nobody was too nearby to overhear what he was about to say "So, G and I actually already know each other, we've been working together doing some uh, side jobs," he'd explain saying side jobs in a way to infer that he meant as a vigilante "Though I'm not sure if he'd already known I'd been seeing Haruuhi, but I just wanted to get that out in the open so there was no, awkwardness or anything similar," he'd finish, waiting for the reaction from the rest of the table

Miku felt her phone vibrate and she sent a quick OK, on the text and she proceeded to just listen the conversation everyone was having. She didnt wanna text while being at the table. And she didnt have powers like Haruuhi to do that unnoticable. Soon a waitress arrived and introduced herself. Both Miku and G looked at the waitress. Haruuhi ordered a soda and gyoza for everyone. "I'm fine with soda and gyoza" G said, Miku nodded But then he thought to himself "The hell is a gyoza" He really derps out on the names when it comes to Japanese.
Once the waitress left, Haruuhi spoke how they met.. at the bank. And then she said no one got hurt "So... what you're saying it... He was a Vigilante saving you from a bank robbery" clears throat and uses the uppity snooty dad voice attitude "Thats all fine and well, dearie. But I do hope that young whipper snapper doesnt hoodwink you. School is important. And while it was all noble he came to save the day. He isnt a Professional. I dont want you to go anywhere dangerous. Ok? Safety is key" he didnt sound authorative. He almost sounded like a satire. He just knew he neeed to pipe up. He felt Hana wished he spoke. But he was just so worried about saying the wrong thing. He just wanted to NOPE everything. This was so hard for him. He didnt want this. He didnt want this at all. He remembers what he said during christmas. But that doesnt make today any easier.
Hana and James conversed with Hana asking a few questions and James answering. G listened to what he said. He has a younger sister. Grandparents. The next part made him raise an eyebrow when he said he had to be honest about himself and G. He said how they know eachother and how they worked on side jobs "Right" he said a bit more serious, dropping the jokey tone he had before "My wife knows exactly what my side job is. So no need to be coy, boy"Between Haruuhi telling him how James saved everyone from a bankrobbery. And James saying he and G do 'side jobs'. It was pretty much clear to Hana and anyone who didnt know that James was a Vigilante. "And in regards to your other sentence. I knew the entire time. Thats why I sent you and snowy and whats his face to do that side job" he admitted. In an indirect way, he told James, that he knew he was with Haruu, and thats why he sent James, Hideki and Aiden to the lions den to spy on Thunder to gather intel. He was hoping Thunder would kill them and be useful.
G smiles to James, but he really tries to surpress his slasher smile thats out for blood

She tried to make it more normal although it did not feel that way. G was not helping either but trying to be a mom while she was anything but a mom of a teenager that was considered about meeting the family with her boyfriend. She was... just a mom for a baby boy and that was how far her mind could think about but she was going to do this right for Haruuhi as that is what she wanted. She nodded and looked at James, god taking care of young kids. "You must have your hand full then, a job probably and taking care of your sister?" How else would he get the apartment or did his grandparents pay that, but it was good to get his sister to a better school than probably were in the other towns, Tokyo was doing very well after all. She was thinking about what to say more when the waitress showed up and something something about a nice little family. Why did people at restaurants always felt like they would have to comment on such things and her ice-blue eyes turned to the girl with a not too friendly gesture even though the smile stayed on her lips. It was probably her experience with Scandal, all the shit those waitresses and waiters told her, bleh. "Can I get a tea and some edamame?" She asked, she wasn't really sure if she was up to gyoza at this point but she would work with it and looked at G who seemed to grumble to himself and resisted the urge to roll her eyes. Sometimes, he would have to pay attention to the rest of the world.
She turned her attention back to James after her eyes had gone to Haruuhi to listen to the explanation of their meeting. These kids, her eyes shortly hovering over Miku before turning back to the new couple... there was this unsure and unknown feeling in the pit of her stomach. She clenched her jaws, pushed her lips together and said nothing. She was kind of glad how G reacted, though his voice and attitude did not help, but she did not kick him. But fine, James was a vigilante. This screamed that the universe was trying to pull Haruuhi out of school and it made her not all too happy. But she smiled, she looked from one at the other when they were talking but she said nothing. She had no idea what G had done as a side job for James nor did she at this point want to know. "Well that's then off the table." She simply said looking around to wait for Hina to come back.

'Dearie?!' Haruuhi couldn't help but snicker at her fathers comment, and how he immediately assumed Haruuhi would be dropping out of U.A to chase after James and become a vigilante like them. She just had a surprisingly calm smile on her face as she stared G dead in the eyes, letting him get what he needed too off of his chest before she spoke up.
"I'm going to become a Hero, no matter what. It might be easier to move around the law the other way, but that's not going to accomplish my goals. I don't want any more children to have to go through what I did growing up, and if I want to make that a reality, I need to do it by the book. That means I'm going to graduate and become a Hero no matter what. What's the difference if I know one more of you in your profession?" She asked as she turned her gaze over to James. She wondered if the boy would consider becoming a Hero as well in the future... it was probably just hard for him now since it was too late for him to enroll at U.A... A conversation to consider for the future. Haruuhi would reach under the table and take James' hand, squeezing it lightly before looking back to her parents.
Her gaze quickly snapped back to James however as he mentioned working alongside his father. No one else seemed fazed but her, and her jaw even dropped a little as she kept her eyes on him and mumbled under her breath at him.
"You're a Storm Knight?" She asked softly before she sat back in her chair and just laughed to herself softly. Even as G noted sending him and 'snowy' off on a mission together.
"You know that explains a lot... Daaaaaad~ This means you have to keep an eye out for him now right? Cause I do n't think I'd be able to get over it if the first boy I can say I love you too had something really bad happen~" While she didn't know that G had tried to send him off to his death, she knew how he was with boys... at least, how he had been with Akio. If he worked with james, who knew what kind of trouble he could hurl him into to get even with him for dating his daughter? This way, she could play the guilt trip card to make sure that G didn't do any of that shady business.

James could pick up on the satiric tone of G but couldn't resist talking back a little "Oh I'd never dream of influencing her or convincing her to drop out of school, on the contrary I'd prefer she does stay in school, things haven't been easy for me so I hope she does stay in school and continue her studies, though I'll support her in whatever she decides to pursue," James would say, a little satire coming into his voice but he was genuine about what he said, he'd experienced first hand how dangerous the vigilante life was and he didn't want Haruuhi to have to live that life either, sure being a hero wasn't exactly safe either but they had official backing and support if anything went wrong, vigilantes like James could only rely on themselves and whatever allies they had. He then turned to Hana and answered her questions about having his hands full "It can be difficult at times, my grandparents help pay for half of my apartment but in regards to things like food and clothes, I'm fully responsible for that as well as pretty much raising my sister, which is obviously difficult considering I'm only a few years older than her but, at the end of the day she's my sister and there's nothing I wouldn't do to make sure she's taken care of," James said.
When it came to James dropping the bomb that he was a vigilante it seemed that only Haruuhi was visibly shocked by the revelation. It was then when G revealed that he knew that James and Haruuhi were seeing each other and that was the reason James was sent on the mission with Frosty and Aiden "Makes sense now, what's a better way to get rid of your daughters boyfriend than to send him to the number one villains underground city," he mumbled under his breath, that was when Haruuhi played a little guilt trip on G and James realized he'd spoken slightly too soon, but he gave Haruuhi's hand a reassuring squeeze "Don't worry, they're not gonna be able to get rid of me, even if he does send me on some super dangerous mission," he'd say with a slight smile

Haruuhi spoke, saying that she will become a hero. No matter what. Even if it is easier to move around the law being a vigilante. Thats not gonna accomplish her goals. She doesnt want any kids to go through what she did. And if she wants to make that a reality. She needs to do it by the book. That means becoming a Hero and graduating UA. She asked whats the biggy if she knew one more Vigilante. To that, G leaned on the table towards Haruuhi, elbows and all that rude stuff. But all in all, he was indicating that he was serious and worried "The biggy is that it is a risk to your work. Just because both Heroes and Vigilantes are crime fighters doesnt mean they're buddy buddy. Vigilante are enemy to both heroes and villains. Heroes see them as criminals. Villains see them as heroes. Being as a hero with a Vigilante is a risky thing. Heroes might wanna try and arrest your boyfriend while for example you're there at the scene being a hero. You'll be stuck in a situation where you either have to help your coworkers or your boyfriend. A lose lose scenario in my opinion. Also you need to keep the fact that you know Vigilante very secret because people will scrutinize you and probably take your job as to why didnt you report Vigilante. I know one hardass hero who's trying to catch every Vigilante out there... well two. Serperior and Blue Agate. Hardasses trying to get us. And those kind of people are plentiful in the hero profession. Just affiliating with Vigilantes a minor bit is enough to jeoperdize your dream" he explained and after that, he leaned back in his chair and relaxed now that he got that out of his chest.
He knew there werent many heroes like Witch Doctor out there. She was a rarity. Hell, even Yellow Jacket who had a soft spot for Vigilantes doesnt have one any more. She will arrest a Vigilante if need be. The majority will. Heroes are supposed to be unfriendly to people like G and James. G knew that he'd either have to become a Pro or settle down when Haruu and Miku become Heroes. His time was coming and he still was in a dillemma not knowing what to do
Later as the conversation went on and they spoke other subjects. Haruuhi learned that James is a Storm Knight. That is their so called 'side job'. Haruuhi then teased G saying he has to keep an eye out for him because she would be sad and not get over the death of her first love or whatever. G laughed "If I have to babysit your boyfriend on missions then I have to say he got in the wrong profession" he wiped a tear from his eye.
Meanwhile James and Hana chatted a bit, while G spoke to Haruuhi. Although James did chine in their conversation. G managed to fight of the urge to roll his eyes. Speaking of eyes, Miku looked at G when he said that he was sending James and Snowy to Thunder. So not only G was willing to throw James in the lions den with Thunder, but Hideki as well. Hoping that both boy toys die. Miku realizing that, just looked at her phone again and minded her business. She had nothing to say. She was just filler. Like why was she here? James didnt bring his sister, so why did she have to come along if she was unnecessary.
G though just shrugged "What can I say, dear. He's my number 1 guy. Just made sense to fight fire with fire. Or rather, just Thunder with Thunder." he then looked at James, when he realized that he never got proper feedback for how the mission went on anything. Snowy, Swat boi nor James have reported to him how it all went "By the way. You never reported to me about how the mission went. After this dinner I expect you to spill the beans, because it is regrettable to say that I do infact trust you and like you more than Swat boi" there, G gave James a legit compliment

Right. This seemed to go okay and yet horrible at the same time that Hanako had no idea what to do with herself. Shocking them in saying she wanted to be a hero no matter what was a good thing, definitely, happy to hear. Hopefully, she would act like it as well but Hanako had no idea and would leave that for G to deal with and she would just watch the rest of the conversation unfold, glad to know that well they were getting along enough as Storm Knights? Haruuhi had not known and now she was asking for protection and Hana who simply was surprised by what she said turned to look at Miku to make sure she was alright before just looking everywhere else. Why was she so uncomfortable with this conversation?
Could they skip these kind of conversations and be a normal family? No, that was probably too much to ask. He saved her, she saved him, blabla, now they were having this pissing contest about who was the best influence even after Haruuhi answered and Hanako wanted to just bluntly tell the boys that Haruu and she were part of the conversation and they shouldn't talk like they didn't exist. But at least she resisted kicking G. So she tried another question. Conversation was of short end, she nodded, glad to hear his grandparents still sort of kept an eye on him and the like. She turned her eye to G about the whole Thundershock business but said nothing again. Not her business, she also absolutely did not agree and she just smiled at Hina who brought the food they ordered and the drinks, thanked her and was going to peel some of the edamame to just get it over with.
She stopped peeling the three beans out of the edamame when G spoke. Freezing in her motion, what he was saying made sense, she knew it. Nimue had told her before as G did as well. But he was her father, then how did you want to do that? He looked so god damn smug and even if that was attractive... it was stupid but again Hanako Hajimari said nothing. She kicked G when he laughed so hard that he even started crying, "Behave." She hissed if they did not want everyone to eavesdrop and watch their table, he could at least behave professionally. She would in the meantime fuss over if Miku was doing alright. She did not have anything to add to the vigilante conversation.

Hauruhi took in a deep breath, then exhaled a sigh. She listened to what James said in her defense, and what her father was saying. He was also trying to protect her, she could see that, but there was a crucial matter where she just could not see the difference. Her gaze grew a bit sad as she looked up at G. She waited for him to be done before putting in her two cents, speaking softly still so no one around them would hear, and so that she didn't come across aggressively.
"And what about the day Serperior-Sensei and Blue Agate-Sensei show up at our door to arrest you? I don't want that either, but it's what I signed up for isn't it? If I wasn't ready to take on that risk, then I wouldn't have accepted your offer back then to become your daughter. I understand that you're worried about me dad, so... I'll listen to your advice but... please don't try to drive James away anymore. He means a lot to me, and it's taken me a very long time to let myself open up to something like this. Please don't make me close myself off again." She pleaded with him, asking him for his help in how to navigate the future, instead or straight up dismissing his warnings and concerns. She might only be 16 years old, but this young girl had seen just how awful the world really was.
When the waitress, Hina, came back over Haruuhi gladly took the drink and food from her as a welcome distraction. She knew that G would have issue with whatever guy she eventually brought home and she'd tried to prepare every scenario in her head of his reactions. honestly this was pretty tame compared to her wild imagination but she couldn't help but feel a bit scared. Not of G or of his reactions, but of being pried away from James. Maybe she should talk to him about becoming a pro hero? or at least a sidekick... in fact, why didn't more Vigilantes just go for their hero licenses? What was the point of them staying vigilantes?
