i'm a doctor, not a therapist Angelica received a text from her brother far too early in the morning to be anything good. Her first suspicion was that something had exploded at his home during the night--a reasonable assumption, given the inhabitants of the house. However it had had nothing to do with him or his housemates at all. Instead, his request had been for her to check in with the nurse for the sake of his across-the-street neighbor.
Said neighbor was another third year whom she had only seen in the chatroom and through hearsay: Reddarc Hunter. Another blond mechanical genius with a penchant for blowing himself up. So in theory her initial concern wasn’t entirely incorrect. Yet the reason for the text was not, in fact, because Red had gotten himself hurt via some experiment gone wrong, but rather that...well...that was the issue. Red did not remember how he had gotten hurt last night.
From the timeline given to her it appeared that after an argument with his live-in girlfriend (whom Angelica was on bad terms with right now, which was all the more hilarious in this scenario) he had gone on a brief walk, only to wake up this morning with a minor head injury but no recollection of the night before or how he had come to sustain his injuries. That was cause for concern. Somebody blacking out, be it in private or in public, warranted some sort of response. What was more worrying was that he claimed this wasn’t the first time such a thing had happened to him.
And yet he was failing to admit that it was a problem, so the disciplinary committee was taking it upon themselves to get some sort of medical examination underway.
Usually a house-call was not a thing for a school doctor. But Angelica and Nimue both understood that the committee’s trust in Red right now to actually go to the infirmary was dubious at best. Thus when her mentor asked her to join her in this little venture Angelica had no reason to reject it.
In a sense, this was more of her “field”. Support Studies students were being taught how to help heroes in the gear they created, the medical aid they could apply, and, more recently, the psychological support that an individual whose job was saving lives may need. It was in no ways a perfect system. Teenagers giving other teenagers emotional support was well and good in small doses, but not on a professional level. If Nimue had told her to take this on by herself then she would certainly have refused, but as it were, her teacher was going to still be in the room, only taking notes and asking questions when she deemed it necessary. Otherwise this was Angelica’s show. Or, rather, it was Red’s, and they were his witnesses.
Angelcia also had something in her mental library that, perhaps, Red’s closest friends did not.
He claims they left in November. When I looked up his mother, there were a number of articles about the lab they worked at. There was an explosion. Nobody was said to be inside. However he also says that his parents left on a business trip at the same time and he has not heard from them since.
If they left before the accident would that not be a good reason to come back? To try and salvage whatever they may have left behind? If they left afterwards why would they not keep in contact with their son, but take their daughter with them? If it were my family and such a horrible accident happened so close to home, they would want to keep them close. Not just one of them.
His parents may just be neglectful. He implied as such by saying he “raised his sister”. But then why take her at all? That makes even less sense. If they do not care, or are just inattentive, why bring along a child that may distract them? Why cut all contact with the one closest to home?
Especially one in a school filled with students with Quirks they may be so inclined to research? He is a far greater asset to them than his sister would be.
And he claims these memory-lapse episodes started in November as well, the same time they “left”, the same time as the accident. Something does not line up.
Or lines up too well.
Angelica adjusted the white coat she was wearing over her pressed white button-up and standard school uniform skirt, gave a small nod to Nimue, and knocked on the door. “Yao-senpai, Tasukai-senpai? We are here to perform the physical and mental check-up on Red-senpai. Please open the door?”
I will not let things go unexplained.

Well, isnt this just a WONDERFUL turn of events. Red would think to himself, tied to a chair with a couple bandages on his head, in Yumis front room with Feng watching over him, trying to spoon feed him fucking strawberry cake. Unfortunatly for her, he really wasnt in the bloody mood to eat right now, especially when it was Yumis cake, so he'd been swiveling his head around to dodge it very successfully so far.....which, to be fair, didnt do his head any favours, but it wasnt anything he couldnt deal with. After all, all he'd suffered physically was a baby scratch on his head that bled a lot.....maybe he had a minor concussion but it couldnt have been that bad, otherwise Yumi probably would have found him cute again or some shit.
But apparently, the rest of the damn school thought he was dying or something. Yumi'd freaked out and had confined herself to her room, which already made him feel like shit, but everyone else was thinking he was trying to be cool or a martyr or a baby for not going to the nurse with this.....which Red was starting to find really annoying. Sure, he didnt remember last night, but it wouldnt have been the first time. Why couldnt they just accept that this was another one of his dumbass antics and just leave it at that?
At this point, it would probably be a good idea to explain what exactly had happened to cause this situation. See, though some....very unfortunate, accidental events, Red had won Class Prez of 3-C........a title that Yumi had held for the last two years. Well, when they were 1 and 2-C, but you get the point. Somehow he'd accidentally mixed up which position he was voting for, so he'd voted for himself and put Yumi down as his vice. Throw in the fact that apparently Fengs cousin was getting some revenge for the other day or something, Pretending to be him so Feng would vote his way too, Red had basically stolen Yumis job out from under her. Which she took.....rather well.....
Now, on its own....that probably wouldnt have been a problem on its own. Sure, it sucked, but he probably could have just talked to Yumi about it, made up, gotten his arse kicked for it, whatever it took to make her feel better.....but of course, Life decided to be a fuckhead and not let him do that. See, while Red was running back to school to check on how he'd win, She'd gone over to Chims house to play Video games.....and apparently, Red had pissed Chim off somehow, so he wasnt invited. So he couldnt talk to her. Great.
Of course, once again, it wasnt that big a deal. He could just sleep in his garage for a week, wait till Yumi wanted to talk to him again, and it'd all solve itself......and then Angie and Jack started fighting. For fucks sake. Apparently they were trying to prove a point about the Elections, he mentioned the accident, Jack made a joke at his expense, Angie started defending him....kind of, Yumi told her to shut up, and Red starting gettin a fuckin headache.
So, at this point, he decided that the best thing to do was just to fuck off somewhere for a while. Of course Angie got hurt and told everyone that she could uuuuhhhh......smell them, but the less said about that the better, Red apologised and just went on his merry way, ignoring anything else for the rest of the night. He didnt know where he was going but it wasnt the first time he'd just disappeared for a bit, it let him think about stuff while he went on auto pilot. Boy, did that turn out to be the worst thing to fuckin do.
The next thing he knew, he was in the familar position of lying against a tree, head thumping, feeling like shit, and having no goddamn idea where he was. The last thing he remembered was seeing Kazama again after god knows how long, with his gang, and somethin hittin him in the back of the head when he told them to fuck off, cause he REALLY didnt wanna deal with that shit right now. Felt like a crowbar. Problem was......that happened in an alley. And he was not in an alley. He was in a park.
While he was tryin to figure that out, Jaz offered him her couch, but Red declined since that'd probably look a bit sketch....and he'd forgotten how nice sleeping outside was. Eventually Yumi got on and gave him directions via lightning bolt, and Red found out that he was rather far from her place. So he started walkin, and at some point saw what his face looked like.
It wasnt the worst he'd looked, and after a quick check he could tell that it looked way worse than it was. So he popped into a nearby pharmacy, grabbed some stuff, and fixed himself up. Couldnt get the blood off of his face till he got home, but he was fine. Even sent Yumi a picture of himself to show her that he was fine.
BOY DID THAT TURN OUT TO BE A MISTAKE.
Everyone freaked the fuck out. Didnt listen to a word he spoke when he told them he was fine, pretty much tried to force him to go to the nurse, and when he refused, cause he was completely fine and didnt want to waste her time, He got accused of trying to be cool or a martyr or something. Apparently being used to not remembering things was something you needed to get a medical check up for now. Even though he know Yumi had a terrible memory, but she didnt need a check up, did she?
But no, the dumbass who always gets hurt and takes care of it himself somehow needs one! Even though he's used to fixing himself up! This was no different to anything that had happened to him over the past 4 years, so why was it a problem now? Got called an idiot even though they dont fuckin know what he has to deal with constantly, what he was used to at this point. No, he can explode all he wants, but get a little cut on your scalp and ALL HELL GETS RAISED!
[smear:#ff0000].....I mean, to be fair, they do have a poin------SHUT THE FUCK UP YOU ABSOLUTE PRICK![/smear:#1979e6:0] Red'd shout at the voice in his head. He was starting to get another headache, but it was too late now. All he had to do was get his confirmation that he was fine, and then he could be a smug prick to everyone else, who would hopefully learn to bloody listen to him when he said he was fine. And lucky him, they are already here! Gre---
“Yao-senpai, Tasukai-senpai? We are here to perform the physical and mental check-up on Red-senpai. Please open the door?”
[smear:#1979e6]..........Oh fuck why did it have to be her to come check up on me? How could this day get any fucking WORSE?![/smear:#ff0000:1]

The election was a center of tension in the new school year. After the festival, this was another event that was sure to cause some issues. With her transferring to a new class for her new year, the same class as her best friends mind you, means that she has to choose between them on who to represent the class. Of course talking and finding her peace, she ultimately made up and pushed past the drama that shackled her. But then came the issue on who actually chooses, much of her feelings are still confused as to who to choose for class president. One half of her said vote for Yumi as she was leading the class for the past two years and she has been ever so patient and forgiving despite what Feng did. Another half said vote for Red and that was on the grounds of many mixed feelings post festival. It was going to be one or another and she was fully committed to voting for her best friend.
But then things got a bit more confused as someone who she thought at the time was Red came to her and...more or less sweet talked her into voting for him and electing herself as Vice President. As her feelings were rather complicated and easily swayed, she of course complied...Only to find out that it wasn’t him at all and she of course caused more trouble for herself as she was now in a rock in a hard place. After a bit of thinking and detective work, she went to her cousins room. Ty-Lee Yao, her cousin, resident lover of knives, the only other relative in her family who can keep up with her...and hates her guts with a burning passion. Of course said it was payback for the little..breakfast incident the other day. Was it driven by jealousy or spite? Whatever the case, she found a blonde wig, a UA uniform, goggles and a voice changer in her room. Seems like she knew about her crush and used it to her advantage as she manipulated her feelings to turn against her friends once again.
Which was then followed by a rather one sided beat down of her cousin who came out of the shower. She did her best to try and fight back but something else was guiding Feng as she promptly left her in a mess and took her secret stash of ice cream to bring over. Funnily enough a few of her classmates nearby and she was invited to play a bunch of games. Of course she shared her bounty of new sweets with her friends. Red was not there due to some earlier incidents but she made sure to save him some for the sake of forgiveness.
Next day rolls by and recently is the issue of where Red was. He found himself in the park with many worrying injuries as much of the third year chat was clamoring about his safety. Adding onto the worry was him saying it was normal for him to experience this. It was a storm of various issues that came forth during this short exchange as many were worried about him. She herself included as she feels somewhat responsible for getting him kicked out on that night. Or she FEELS at fault as she quickly rushed to Yumi’s house. After a brief exchange and an arrangement, her friend holed up in her room and Feng was left to watch over a tied up Red in a chair. A doctor was coming to check up on him and someone needed to keep him company.
Her opportunist side screamed at her as she saw him in a chair like that. It was the WORST time to have feelings like that, so she promptly kicked it aside and instead tried her best in feeding him strawberry shortcake. Which was fruitless as he was dodging her attempts at feeding him to which she tried more and more. It was at a point where it looked like she was trying to stab him. It was cake she brought over for them and she feels a bit mad that he isn't accepting any of it. She more or less pouted as she tried to feed him the cake.
But her attempt at comedy was soon interrupted as she heard knocking at the door and she went to go open it. It was the doctor of course and she of course ushered her into a house she did not live in. She doesn't know Angelica well aside from her deal with Yojin, she is a support student and Chimera's sister. Aside from that she was a new face to her in all intents and purposes.
But she more or less let her in and watched her do her work. She ate her cake as she didn't want to interrupt her work. Mostly sitting in a chair nearby and watching with careful eyes. But actually she didn't know what to say as she is there so she can make sure Yumi doesn't worry even more. That and she promised her to do that and she can't exactly break her promise now can she? She prepared more sweets as the doctor got set up, setting up a few more cakes for Angie. She doesn't even know if she likes cakes or not, so she put out a cheesecake she brought. Which Feng helped herself to as she preferred those more to regular cakes.
"[smear:#12882e]Ya think lover boy is gonna be okay? I have no damn clue, lets let the doctor do her magic[/smear:#bd1f19:0]", Fei and Feng talk in her head as they eat the cheesecake.

i'm a doctor, not a therapist As Angelica walked into the door she gave a courteous bow to Feng, saying a quick “Good morning, Yao-senpai” before removing her shoes and making her way into the main room alongside Nimue. When they came into said room and, to their slight surprise, found Red tied to a chair, there was a moment of confusion from both of them. But, well, if they were really worried about him being a flight risk, there were other ways to handle this. Angelica sighed and set down her school bag and began to work at untying him.
“Good morning, Red-senpai,” she greeted him, undoing the knots with a bit of effort, “I hope that asides from this detour that your day is going pleasantly.” It may have been sarcasm, it may have been sincere. With her dry tone of her voice it was hard to tell. Nimue took a seat somewhere, as did Feng--which was somewhat irritating, as she didn’t really need more than a professional audience for this, let alone one sitting there munching on a pretty distracting cheesecake.
Mm. At least if she needed more sugar after this there was a steady supply of it here.
Once Red was untied, but still not going anywhere, Angelica took a chair of her own from wherever there was one and set it in front of him, but didn’t yet sit down. Instead she drew out a pair of tools from her bag, both kept in nice plastic cases, and a small box of plastic latex gloves. She slid the latter on before opening the cases and taking out what looked like a small flashlight and a comb. “Show me where you have your head injury, senpai, so I can be sure it has been properly tended to. And tell me if you feel any residual pain anywhere on your skull, so I can check you for bruising.” If there was any sort of bandage applied, she would need to remove that, too, but she had clean bandages to replace it.
For as sharp as her tongue was, and as dry as her words, her fingers were gentle and delicate in parting Red’s hair and touching around his scalp near where the injury was. Even through the gloves her pink-toned hands were very soft. It was, as he had said before, nothing serious. No visible bone, no brains, nothing but blood. It didn’t even look like it would require any stitches. She took care in cleaning around the area, checking for blood missed in their initial washing of the wound. All the while she was quiet, listening for any signs of pain--or straight words--as she moved her fingers about his scalp, checking for further bruising. She would expect some on the back of his head if he fell out of a tree as he claimed, or closer to the wound if he’d landed on that instead.
But she suspected she would not find any.
If there wasn’t an overhanging, uneasy air to this whole thing, this could be mistaken for a head massage rather than an inspection. But this was still only the skin-deep side of this process. “Head injuries are tricky,” she spoke as she finished, wrapping the wound once more in a fresh, clean bandage and attaching it with medical tape. “Because even mild, surface-level injuries can cause some sort of cranial nerve damage. Especially falls. So while this injury is nothing to fear I will still be performing a basic cranial nerve exam to be sure that none of them are harmed. This will include a test on your senses sight, smell, touch, hearing, and taste.”
Angelica removed her first pair of gloves, placed them in an empty plastic bag--a sterile “trash” bag--within her school bag, and put on a fresh pair. It was both because she had been touching his injury and because, well, her skin inside the gloves became uncomfortably sticky if she kept them on for too long. She took a seat in front of Red and met his eyes, steely blue and steely blue. Hah, now that she could see him up close, it was really only the hair that made him and Yojin look alike. Their faces--their nationalities, skin tone, and eyes--were all entirely different. He had plenty of faded scars, though, not unlike her boyfriend. Not bad, Tasukai-senpai.
“I know you are nearsighted, but I cannot perform this first part of the test around your goggles. Put them down around your neck. You may put them back on afterwards.” TAG: All y'all ╳ medical nonsense! ╳ WORDS: 779

"Feng......how many times do I have to dodge the cake before you get the message? Or are you just trying to actually stab me at this point?" Red'd ask, dodging another strawberry spoonful of dessert. This had been going on for the past ten minutes, somehow she still hadnt gotten the point that he wasnt hungry yet.....well, he was, he hadnt eaten breakfast yet, but she didnt need to know that. Besides, It was Yumis cake. He did have to wonder how mad Feng was at him though, cause.....he couldnt quite place it, but she was looking at him really fuckin weird. Maybe it was just the ropes or something, or the fact he looked like even more shit that usual.....couldnt have been anything else, probably.
Still, the doorbell ringing was a wonderful sign of relief....for about five seconds til Angie spoke. He assumed it was Angie atleast, he knew she worked in the infirmiry and that wasnt Nimues voice, so he put a couple things together in his brain. His brain did not like that idea. Now, to be fair, it wasnt just because it was Angie. He kinda liked her, all things considered, she was cool. The problem here, was unrelated to what she was like, however.
It was a two fold problem: the first, was the obvious problem she'd have with Yumi. They had kind of had a bit of a fight last night due to his bullshit, which he still felt bad for, but he hoped that Angie was uhhh......Professional enough? Something like that, he hoped she didnt hold a grudge against either of them for it. He sure didnt, even if she'd basically told the rest of the school what him and Yumu were like but....eh, that was pretty easy to figure out anyway.
The real problem though, was that Angie was smart. Very fuckin smart. A few days before this, she'd starting asking questions about his family. Pretty innocent ones, in all honesty, that he probably could have just waved off but.....he didnt know, something told him that he had to answer her or it'd look more suspici----I mean weird. There was nothing suspicious going on, after all.
Either way, it'd gone on to ask about her parents and Red had to li---I mean inform her that neither his parents or sister were available right now, but she'd starting trying to look up research papers from his mum which.....set off alarm bells in his head for some reason. He didnt know why but he dreaded her asking those kinds of questions again....They set off the headaches after all, and since she was so smart she'd....probably find some things out. Nothing too bad, of course, just uhhh.....things Red didnt wanna thing about. Ever. Cause everything was FINE.
"Mornin, Angie." He'd greet her, in a tone that clearly indicated how done with this situation he was. Still, it wanst her fault, so he didnt plan on sulking for too long. "Oh no, its going great. This is how my morning usually start. Wake up, make breakfast, get tied up, tell everyone its just a flesh wound even though they think my arms off, its wonderful." He'd sarcastically joke, Recognisng the tone of Angies voice. It was easy, since he was english but...you always had to make sure, just in case. Hopefully she got the joke.
"Seriously though uhh.....Sorry for troubling you. I tried coming myself but uhhh....yeah soooo....Thanks." He'd apologise, once the ropes were untied. He would have gotten her a chair himself but, he had the feeling Feng would pounce on him if he even TRIED to move away from his own chair.....Still, he had to get up and stretch just a little bit, they made sure those ropes were tied VERY fuckin well. After that though, He'd just sit down and not go anywhere......It'd be quicker if he was just as cooperative as possible at this point.
"Aye, its just here, Angie. Still a little bit of dullness but its not too bad, Im used to it." Red'd shrug, pointing towards the top of his skull where the cut was under his bandage, and sitting still while she took it off. He probably should have done it himself, but since she was the professional here, he'd just let her do what she needed to do without interfering. It'd be the fastest way to get this over with, afterall.
"Ffffffffff.....yeah, theres some bruising alright." He'd wince, as Angies fingers ran along the back of his head. He could feel how....weirdly soft Angies hands were. Her touch didnt even cause that much pain when she touched those bruises or the ones around his cut, which'd explain all the blood, but he couldnt exactly hide them now, could he?
Besides, he had to be as honest as possible here, considering why he was being looked at in the first place. Still, Angie'd probably notice that these bruises probably werent just from falling out of a tree......after all, even if they were similar injuries, blunt force trauma probably looked a litte different than just falling on your bloody head.
"Yup, Im well aware, Ive had a fair few" He'd joke as she mentioned how head injuries are tricky He knew full well how tricky they could be at times, after all, whenever he got one his brain decided to stop working for a bit.....god he still remembered how he;d been when he first met Yumi.....god that one was rough. Still, usually his sister fixed him up if he needed it, so he doubted anything bad would come of this.
"Oh, yeah of course, i'll just keep em off until you're done with everythin." Red would comply, dropping them down his neck as far as he could, in order to make sure she wasnt obstructed in any way. Honestly, at this point, he was pretty sure that he had nothing to actually worry about when it came to the....other thing but....something in the back of his mind wouldnt let him forget about it.
Man, she's just here to help you out, she's not gonna ask you anything. The voice in the back of his head told him but....As Red looked her in the eyes, he just couldnt shake the feeling that this test might end up being harder than a "Basic Cranial Nerve Exam". Hopefully he was just being paranoid since it wasnt his Sister helping him but.....He didnt know for sure yet.

“I’m trying to make sure you’re well fed here! If I wanted to stab you, I would have aimed somewhere else!”, was the last thing Feng got out as she tried to feed Red one last time before the medical help came by. Of course she was annoying him, but she was doing her best with what she can do.
Back to the situation at hand, this isn't the type of situation she wasn't accustomed to...no this is a situation no one should be used to. She didn't know what to say as she watched Angie do her work. A part of her was rather standoffish about her due to the whole Fei incident but another part wanted to keep her working because she was worried about the idiot. Her confused feelings kicked in again as she looked at him with very worried eyes as the examination went on. Taking small bites of the cake she had on hand as she heard Red make various remarks; a part of her replying in her usual manner of, “Just a flesh wound is an understatement...that much blood coming out would worry anyone”, she pouted as she heard the remark. She knew it was the truth but she didn't want him to have the satisfaction of her admitting it.
Her stare intensified as she saw him get up from his chair, her eyes glowing with a dangerous aura as she watched his movements. He was only stretching due to be tied to the chair but knowing him….better safe than sorry. But he sat down after he did as uncharacteristically co operated to the commands. Which led to some more thoughts but they were soon kicked to the curb as she saw the wounds on his head. “I’d say that's more than a fair few, Red”, she’d remark as she put her elbows on the table and kicked her feet. A part of her wondered why she was here as she could have left them alone, but she made a promise and by god she will stay true to it. Though a lot of these things are going over her head as she knew jack squat about all of this. Her mom is a nurse but none of that knowledge aside from pressure points were taught to her. Which isn't exactly handy in many situations that's beside the point.
Recalling that she brought another cake along, she cut some and left it on the side for Angie for the time when she needs a snack. She felt awkward doing so but it was the most she can do in the way of paying people back. Sweets and coffee are the usual payment methods that work but she was quite nervous how she reacts due to how focused she looks. Interrupting a doctor at work is bad for everyone and she made sure to not utter a word until after she is done with this part. The remarks and jabs were more or less her expressing her worry but she will leave the actual work for the actual expert. Unless a headache can be solved with a roundhouse kick then she is as useful as a body guard at this very moment.
Feng more or less kept her guard up and watched the examination to make sure everything was alright. A part of her admiring the sight of Red with his goggles around his neck but most of it is doing her part. To fill the air and silence, she would ask a simple question, “Is he gonna be alright?”, her tone rather serious as she adjusted her seating posture.

i'm a doctor, not a therapist "I do not need to know yours and Tasuka-senpai's routines." Angelica followed up to Red's comment that being tied up was perfectly normal to him. She said it quietly, since there was a teacher not but eight feet away, but she couldn't keep it from escaping one way or another. Clearing her throat quietly Angelica returned to setting up her equipment as she should.
But looking over Red's scalp was providing her with more than she expected. She had thought he would be fine, sans the bloodied cut, but he was not. He had more bruises on him than she had expected. Not in the places they should be, nor the darkness they would be for a "fall", either. She chewed on her bottom lip. If I were just going by these bruises, I would say he was more likely recently hit by a car, than fallen out of a tree. Good Lord. She almost called him out on it right this moment, but if she did then he might come up with more excuses, and she didn't want to put him more on the defensive before she even began. There was a method to this sort of thing, if she were to believe the books she read so often.
Psychological horrors had its basis in reality after all.
"No, Yao-senpai, I am afraid his level of intelligence is in fact terminal. I am very sorry." She responded without missing a beat. "He has a head wound, he is not dying. Calm down."
With two fresh, sterile gloves on her hands, Angelica took a pen light from her pocket and moved her chair so she was closer to Red than not, but still stood up and bent over so she was closer still. She was grateful that he didn't smell--and was, admittedly, nervous that her usual scent of "sugar" would make him judge her for some reason--since she was right in his face with this. "I am going to look at your pupils. Focus on the distance, do not focus on the light. You may blink when you need to." With a twist of the top of it the pen light turned on, and she raised it to shine into Red's eyes, but not at an angle for it to blind him. She then moved around to his other side and did the same. His pupils were both round, both dilating just so from the sudden brightness. No unusual shaping or lack of reaction to the light. Good. Good start.
She turned the pen light off, then sat down so she was at the center of his gaze. "Focus on my nose, and cover your left eye. I'm going to wave the pen light at a certain distance and bring it closer to your visual range. When you can see it in your peripheral vision, tell me." She had to do this with the knowledge that his eyes weren't twenty-twenty already, but that didn't factor too much into this part. She did it once from the bottom, once from the top, then switch the pen to her other hand and did the same. "Good. Now cover your right eye and I will do the same for it." Once from the top, from the bottom, switched hands...it was all very tedious and repetitive, but it was important to test that the edges of his vision weren't worse than normal. And it was relaxing, in its own way.
"Your vision does not seem to be more impaired than usual. Now I am going to touch your face for this one. Close your eyes keep them shut. I am going to try to pull them open. Do not let me.” With the same gentle touch--though with a little more force than before--Angelica placed her thumbs and pointer fingers on the bone around his eyes and pushed at the skin, trying to pry his eyelids open. His muscles won. Good.
She retracted her hands, and moved to take a notebook from her bag. Flipping to a clean page she wrote down the results to these tests. So far, all was going well. "You may put your goggles back on for the rest of these. Senpai, were you aware that you have such dark circles under your eyes? That is caused by lack of sleep, or general dehydration. I suggest getting to sleep at a more reasonable hour, whether or not it is in your bed or otherwise, and drinking more water."

"What, do you not watch Monty Python in the mornin?" Red'd shoot right back, quietly, about the same level as Angie had replied to him. He was laying the sarcasm on real thick now, just to get the point across that he was joking. He wasnt about to make Nimue suspicious of what they were talking about after all, that'd just get them both in a bit of a shitty situation. Plus, he wasnt about to tell Angie that it was infact that opposite of what she was thinking, probably. It wasnt every morning either.....Well, the rope part wasnt, but that didnt really need to be said at any point now, did it?
"Eh, this isnt the worst Ive had. Trust me, if it was, I would be sounding a lot stupider than I usually do. You can ask Yumi about it, she was there for one of em." Red'd reply to Feng, doing his best to not move his head unless Angie wanted him too. He kinda felt bad for Feng, she was kind of stuck here on Yumi's orders thanks to him, pretty much just sitting there and watching.....atleast with her there he had a witness to testify that yes, he hadnt run away and Angie HAD looked at it and told him he was fine.
Speaking of Angie though.....he wondered why she didnt say anything about the brusies. He'd taken a look at em himself, and he knew full well that they looked more like a fuckin crowbar, baseball bat, or just a plain old fist had bashed his head in. He knew full well how smart she was, she couldnt have missed that......Maybe she'd ask him about it when Nimue wasnt here?.....or was she planning something? Red couldnt tell right now, and he didnt like that thought. Dude....Just trust her man, its fine. The voice remarked.
"Damn, I knew I had brain damage, but that bad? How long do I have? Til the end of today?" Red'd follow up, also not missing a beat, still looking straight at Angie and not Feng so that his head didnt move but......as much as he tried to hold it in, a few chuckles did escape him. "Seriously Feng, if I was actually bloody dying I'd be in the hospital, not in the comfort of Yumis house. It'll be fine, trust me." He'd try reassuring her just a little bit, even if he was still being sarcastic.
"Aye, got it, no blinding myself." Red would nod slightly, closing his eyes just for a second while Angie explained what she was doing, so that he could keep his eyes open for a few extra seconds while she checked. Once she was done with the first eye, he'd blink a few times as she changed sides, so that his eyes didnt end up watering from being held open too long. It was slightly blinding, since it was a light being shoved into his face, but he didnt mind all that much.
He was kind of surprised he wasnt freaking out too hard right now. Sure, he was blushing just a little, but he remembered how he used to panic a little whenever Yumi got somewhat close to him so....he could safely say he was making progress? He still felt awkward but, maybe it was the fact that Angie was exuding an air of professionalism or something. Plus the sugary scent she was giving off was kind of calming in its own way. He wasnt getting bothered by it at all.
"Alright........There." Red would do as he was instructed, telling Angie the moment he caught sight of the pen each time. He was starting to kind of get reminded of what his sister used to do after he got fucked up in a fight. Sure, she wasnt exactly a professional about it, but Blake did like to make sure that her quirk had actually worked on him and not just made it look like he was alright......This exam was kind of nostalgic, really. Relaxing in its own way, too.
"Yeah, sure.....I'll try me best to not nod off on ya, Bla---Angie." He'd joke as he closed his eyes, Slipping up just a little bit but he actually was kind of feeling tired right now. If Angie was like this with everyone then she would make one hell of a doctor once she graduated. Still, he'd close his eyes, making sure that she had to fight to open them. He did feel a flash of a headache when he slipped up, but it based pretty quickly, so hopefully Angie just assumed that was him doing his best to not let her open his eyes......As much as he wanted to open em up.
"Yeah, Im aware....Ive had em for years, just gotten used to....not sleeping. Speaking of water though, you want a drink? I'd get you one but uhhh.....She'll probably pounce on me again if I try and move anywhere thats not this chair. You mind grabbin a couple glasses, Feng?" Red'd ask, keeping his goggles around his neck for now. He figured moving them would just complicate whatever Angie was gonna do next, so unless she asked for him to take em off he'd just leave em.

"Look Angie, its rare I see that much blood coming from anywhere….so dont judge me for not knowing”, Feng replied to a verbal jab as she crossed her arms. She knows to not interrupt work like this but a jab like that at least deserves an appropriate response. But she can't do much aside from watch and make sure he is alright after all is said and done.
That's all she can do silently, as Angie did all the things a nurse usually does at a checkup. Her mom is a doctor so she is somewhat familiar with what she is doing but then again it's Fengs mum and she was the last person to trust in terms considering her personal circumstances. But she prefers to not dwell on that as she just kept her cool as she looked around the room and wondered what to do.
Maybe she should check up on Yumi? No that’d be a bother. Maybe she can stretch? Nah, she cant do that with company and she needs to be ready for when they need some help with other activities since red was a bit...tied up.
'Why did I come over if Im just going to stand around and do nothing', she thought to herself as she looked at various parts of the room idly as the suspense was killing her. The entire situation has her worried but her lack of a proper answer from the actual nurses right now is making worry more than she should."[smear:#12882e]Maybe you should just- Shut it Fei[/smear:#bd1f19:2]", she retorted to the other voice as she sighed.
Inevitably to keep her mind busy, she got up and prepare some cuts of cake she brought over from the other day to prepare a few servings for the visiting parties. She prefer to not ask as she was till in the midst of the job but Red did request her to prepare a few glasses in which she followed along. “Gotcha, just regular water or any preferences?”, she asked as she went to the cupboard to get out several cups and poured all of them a drink. “Just tell me when ya need a drink and I’ll help with the whole...drinking deal”, she gestured as she plated a few cakes. Strawberry shortcake for her as she took a bite and let the flavors dance on her tongue as she sat idly as she waited for the next part of the check up.

i'm a doctor, not a therapist Angelica looked at Red from over her notes, one brow raised and eyes narrowed incredulously. "You do realize that telling a doctor 'I am used to not sleeping' is not in your favor, yes? If you cannot set an appropriate time to sleep for you health, I will ask your housemates to do it for you. But as you have demonstrated, you would rather not be treated like you are incapable of self-care?" Finished writing about his slight slip-up with his eyes, she set the book down. "Get more sleep."
Some people. She didn't understand how he did it, or Yojin, or her brother, or any of the students who complained about not sleeping at night. She went to bed relatively early and woke up on time for school and had no issues with feeling tired. Maybe it had to do with all of them drinking coffee.
Yuck.
"Water would be appreciated."
From the bag, she withdrew a trio of little brown bottles with a color on each one, but no other definitive markings. She scooted her chair a little closer so she could do this next test without being hunched over the entire time. "I am going to test your sense of smell now. If you get the first two correct I will not need to use the third. I am going to press one of your nostrils shut at a time as I do so." With the explanation out of the way, Angelica raised her hand to gently press her thumb against his nose, closing one nostril at a time with that hand and holding up one of the three bottles to it. "What does this one smell like?" Chocolate. She then repeated it, switching hands and similarly switching different sides of his nose. "And this one?" Mint. After a moment of consideration she repeated the test on that side with the third scent. Coffee.
"Good." She set the bottles down, pushed her chair back, and put the bottles away. Once again she scribbled down her notes. "Before you ask, I do not pick the scents myself. I wold have picked anything other than coffee if I could, but it is, unfortunately, a very easily recognized smell."
Gross liquid slosh that it was.
"While I'm writing...puff out your cheeks for me, then press your tongue into either side of you mouth--left, then right. Then show me your teeth." A quick test of his facial muscle before she went in to test the nerves themselves. She set the notebook down and took out two instruments; one a slightly pointed wooden tool, no bigger than a pencil, and the other a similar one but with a soft cotton tip. She had to peel both from a sterilized paper wrap before she came in close again.
She held up the wooden tool, the tip almost touching his cheek, then she paused. "Close your eyes so you are not visually cheating. I am going to test if any of your face is numb. This is not sharp enough to harm you but it is not very comfortable either. Bear with it." Once his eyes were closed, she went about gently poking about his face. His temples, his nose, his upper cheeks and jaw, and between every poke she would quickly ask: "Do you feel that?" She smirked just a little. This was, in her opinion, one of the more amusing parts of the exam. She didn't get to just poke people in the face without reason. Not that she would. Well..most people.
That said, she was keeping a careful eye on his own. If he was having a hard time keeping them shut, that could be a nerve or muscle that was injured. Or something else related to, well, everything else. She set the wooden tool on her lap and picked up the one with the softer one. "Now the other tool. It is softer. Keep your eyes shut." She then repeated the process with the cotton tip, gently poking and patting at his face. And all the while she watched his eyes.
"I should do this around your skull," she mumbled very softly in English. It was more to herself, but she knew Red would at least be able to hear her. "But I won't. Not around Feng."

"Well, yeah. Im pretty sure this entire mornin aint in my favour at this point, not much point in lying now, is there?" Red'd shrug his shoulders as he replied, a little smirk on his face as Angie gave him the "Really?" kind of look. "Besides, its not like I dont try to sleep like a regular human being. The problems just me waking up way earlier than I probably should, cant get back to sleep afterwards. Its a real bad habit....Yumi and Feng are uhhh....Kinda helping though." He'd admit, scratching at his face a little bit. Sure, he was being a massive hypocrite and NOT mentioning the fact that it was nightmares or....whatever he saw while he was asleep jolting him awake....or the fact that it'd gotten to the point of him avoiding sleep unless he was around Yumi or Feng but....well she didnt exactly ask why so technically he wasnt lying.
"Yeah, just normal water Feng.....wait what do you mean help?" Red'd ask, his eyebrow raising in confusion. He wasnt a fuckin cripple at the moment, he was perfectly capable of holding a fuckin cup on his own, seriously. The fact he was still gettin fuckin coddled like a baby of this was kind of insulting, but........".....Eh, Fuck it, sure, why not. I probably deserve it at this point." Red would sigh out, making a point of moving his arms to show that they were perfectly fine. He wasnt gonna stop her though....and he was kinda thirsty at the moment. "Alright, g-go right ahead, Angie." Red would stutter a little bit, flinching almost unconciously at the three bottles. He was sure Angie wasnt about to make him smell anything too weird but.....well his nose still remembered the HELLISH concoction Blake had made him smell at the time to try and teach him a lesson. Seriously he thought she'd fucked his sense of smell up for atleast a month with that thing. It was even worse than her cooking, somehow, and the less said about that the better.
Either way, he got another headache flash, which once again passed very quickly, but Angie could probably tell he was holding his breath anxiously. Luckily, though, he got a breath a sigh of relief once he got to smell the first one, which he could recognise instantly, putting him at ease. "Yup, thats chocolate alright....thank christ." He'd mutter the last part under his breath, shaking his head at himself as he realised he was just havin dumb brain farts for thoughts right now.
"And that ones Mint i think." He'd answer again, waking up a little thanks to the smell. He was kind of thankful for this part of the test, cause honestly he had been very close to nodding off earlier, thanks to how weirdly relaxing this whole thing was, but having bottles shoved into his nose was definetly a wake up call....especially the last. "Ok, Yep, thats coffee, jesus thats strong." He'd say, his nose curling up just a little bit. He wasnt exactly a fan of coffee. "Yeah, I figured Ange, dont worry about it. Besides, Im used to it thanks to a certain someone wanting it all the time. Not much of a fan of drinking the stuff myself." He'd admit, slyly glancing at Feng while he puffed his cheeks out, almost looking like he was pouting as he did what he was told with no problems. He didnt really realise that the fact he had sleeping problems without coffees influence was probably a red flag to someone like Angie.....then again, maybe she'd just assume he was just weird like that or something......hopefully, atleast.
"Aye, got ya.....just dont poke too hard, alright? Dont want my instincts to kick in on ya or anything if I end up falling asleep." He'd sarcastically remark, but he wasnt really joking. Despite the fact that he was well aware that he was perfectly safe in this place right now, He knew that his subconcious would decide that, since he couldnt actually see what was poking him, that it was someone blindsiding him and he had to defend himself......8 years of that kinda builds up a habit.
Still....the instincts werent the worst part. See, now that his eyes were closed, his brain decided that now was the time to let him think about his sister. A lot. Flashes of memories would go through his head, from her telling him off for gettin his arse kicked before healing him, to making fun of him in general, to almost crying one time cause he hadnt told her where he was, to her blowing up the microwave and....well, nothing else. Nothing to do with where she was now. Which wasnt a hospital. She was fine.
".....I was wonderin when you'd mention it, Angie" Red'd whisper, in his own english, under his breath in response, almost slipping up again as the colour drained from his face slightly. The entire time, he'd been gripping his knees pretty hard, tapping his foot against the floor to try and stave off whatever his body wanted to do right now, and his eyes had been twitching just a little bit. It got even worse when Angie mentioned the brusies, he really wanted to open his eyes right now but....he knew that was probably a bad fuckin idea right now. .....Fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck. The voice in the back of his head would start to repeat over and over in his head. He'd been wrong, and now they were in a very difficult situation. What did they do? Did they lie through their teeth? Did they run for it? Did they just....admit something was wr---HAHAHAHAHA No, of course not.....but....maybe they could....try and throw her off the scent a little bit. Not exactly lie but.....give her the idea it was something else.....that they really were fine. Cause they were. Completely. God I bloody hope this doesnt end up worrying Feng.
[smear:#1979e6]".....You sure you just wanna check my skull?.....Cause I have the feeling thats not the only thing."[/smear:#ff0000:1] He'd mutter under his breath, in english again. He had to know if she'd caught on to anything....and if he needed to get Feng outta the room somehow before she started asking the very difficult questions.

Pouring water was what Feng did as she saw the visible disgust in both their faces and in tone as she mentioned coffee. Guess it shows that vicarious tastes do exist and she did with a rather disappointed look on her face as she poured them both two cups of ice water. She wasn't a medical expert or anything but it was nice to have something cold for a headache or whatever was ailing Red. Most of the work is on Angie on that end as she didn't have much to do aside from occasional small talk and making sure nothing bad happens in the long run. She wonders why she is even here if she doesn't really contribute anything as most of this seems more like a checkup at the doctors than the hyper dangerous situation she thought at first. But she kept her wits about her as she sat there quietly enjoying her cup of coffee.
Thoughts in her head were mostly various things she wanted to do in the coming weeks. Training, thinking, applying for places to work under for heroes, family life, all of it filled her head as she sat there bored out of her mind. The silence was awkward and deafening as she didn't have much to contribute to the current standing of thin gs. Most of this is for her friends sake and she had to stick top the end despite this massive hurdle for her. Echoes of her first year come back to her as she recalled doing this for most of her time in class and not talking and it didnt help the situation at all. It was suffocating to a slight degree as she feels like the third wheel and any attempt would feel hyper out of place for something like this. Her eyes eyes wandered around the room to try and keep her mind busy but it all fell back to Red and Angie.
Watching intently was all she CAN do as she watches them smell some bottles and hear their conversation. She couldn't hear much as she can only hear every fourth word. But she stayed out of it for the sake of recalling her entire position in this entire ordeal is confusing to her. She looked into her coffee cup and wondered what she can do and why is she even there in the first place. The faint english being heard didn't help at all as she can understand it more clearly so she glanced at the fridge and wondered what to do for lunch.
Feng started to get worried the moment he can hear some pained breathing and in a blur, she shot up, “Imma try and find some stuff for that! Will be back when I find it!”, she said in a blur as she ran upstairs and into her room to try and find some medicine. It was a relief that she can avoid that silence but it was trouble and she wanted to be of some help as she dug through her medicine bag to try and find some pain killers.

i'm a doctor, not a therapist Tap tap. Tap tap tap. Tap tap.
Angelica was methodical as she kept poking about Red's face, in places where the nerve endings may have been harmed. In that moment of quiet, she thought. Hypothesized. Lack of sleep without the consumption of caffeine--though he didn't specify if he avoided all kinds of caffeine and not just coffee, there were plenty of things he could still be consuming that had too much of it--was added to her list. Spontaneous head-aches, blackouts, lack of sleep, injuries he didn't remember the source of, since before he even came to UA. It had just gotten worse, by his own admission.
It's too vague. There's too many conditions it could be. If it's physical it could be brain damage, if it's mental there are numerous disorders that could be causing it. I can't know for sure. I can only blindly guess until I have one...more...hint.
"I'm not blind, Redarcc. You should have brought those up to start with. Open your eyes." Angelica continued to speak in English even as Feng left the room, which was a bit of a relief. It meant not having to whisper. She placed the tool into a plastic wrap and back into her bag. Her eyes stay trained to her bag, hesitating in raising her head for a moment. "Seriously, I don't understand this...complex for martyrdom that heroes have--what with denying any and all serious injuries they might have received. There is nothing heroic about suffering alone when you have people around you capable and willing to fix you. It's not only pointless--it's selfish, and stupid, to think you're better off without help."
"Nevermind how I may feel on the matter, but imagine how they would feel if something happened to you that couldn't be seen in an examination, and you failed to be healed. What if you had internal bleeding? Would you let yourself slowly die instead of admitting it is worse than it looked? Not everything will be so simple as to be curable with one of my lollipops. Speaking of, I am going to test your sense of taste."
Angelica withdrew one more thing from her kit--a simple paper-wrapped lollipop, which she held out by the stick for Red to take. "Tell me if you can or cannot taste it." Once he'd taken it she would remove her medical gloves and add them to her disposal baggy. With a small, irate sigh she took down the last of her notes. "That will heal the majority of the injuries on your body, including those that you're claiming to possess that I haven't seen. Unless you have anything worse than scrapes and bruises, that is. I am already suspecting you have some manner of head trauma from this ordeal."
Now.
"Then again, it could also have been brought about by the explosion at your mother and father's lab." Angelica's eyes came back up to Red's face and stayed fixed there, watching for little things. Twitches in his expression. Clenching his jaw. Changes in his eyes. Anything. "Every article I've read on it said there was nobody inside when it was cleared, and as you are here and alive I am going to assume you were not present, but the fact that such an event occurred somewhere that your parents could have been--" Or were. "--still might have caused you enough fear and stress to develop some manner of mental imbalance. Especially if your parents were not here after or when such a disaster occurred."
"I do not know what I would do if it were my own mothers, and my elder brother, in such a scenario," she said just a touch quieter, and the ever-present edge to her voice dropped for a moment, "But I cannot imagine being alone after that sort of thing, whether or not something did happen to them."
For once, only once, in her life, she hoped she was wrong.

[smear:#1979e6]"....Yeah....I figured Ange. You're pretty smart, after all." [/smear:#ff0000:1] Red would whisper in english, a relieved sigh coming out of his lips now that he could open his eyes......He didnt want to have to see those memories again.....atleast not now. That'd just make things worse. He could tell that if he hadnt been able to open his eyes he probably would have had to shoot them open anyway, which would have been a metaphoical death sentence right now. He'd planned on turning to Feng to ask her something, maybe try and get her out of the room but....he was lucky. Seemed Feng had decided to do that herself, using the excuse of getting some medicine or something to leave....he really couldnt blame her.
[smear:#1979e6]"H-Hey uhhh....while you're up there, could you check on Yumi? Make sure she's alright?[/smear:#ff0000:1] He'd shout after her, scrathing his face in places that Angie had poked him. He was hoping she caught it so that she didnt feel the need to come back downstairs too fast..........Plus we'd rather she stay outta here for a sec, right? Hunter'd chime in, slightly worried.....neither of them wanted to have to make them worry even more than they already were. All he needed was a clean bill of health....and everything would be completely fine.
So, while Angie decided it was a good idea to start telling him off like everyone else in the chat had, like he was a fuckin baby, Red sat there. He figured it was better to not interrupt her right now. Despite how progressively angry he was getting. Because, on a technical level, she was right. If Yumi had gotten into this kind of situation, He'd probably be doing the same thing she had.....but this was him they were talking about. He was used to this kinda shit......so it pissed him off when people assumed he was just a moron about this kinda stuff. So, once he was finished, he'd look her dead in the eyes, tired anger in his own.
".....No, Angie, Im not a fuckin idiot. You can see that this is nothing. This is barely worse than what someone could get in combat training. Hell, if i went to my sister with this, she'd just laugh at me and tell me she wasnt gonna waste her voice on it, so suck it up. But no, apparently, Ive lost a fuckin part of my skull or something, according to what everyone else is acting like. I go "oh hey i dont remember" and its assumed that i have brain damage....and not just a mild concussion at most, which can induce memory loss for like a day at worst and you can sleep off. Like ive done before. Cause im used to this kinda crap. Cause ive dealt with it for fucking years." He'd explain, his voice deepening just a little bit due to how he felt......but he cooled off pretty quick....probably thanks to mentioning his sister.
[smear:#1979e6]"Ahh.....Sorry Ange, You dont deserve that. You're just doin your job, Im just.....tired of this gettin treated like a baby shit. If it was bad, I wouldnt have needed to look in a window to know, and I'd have dragged my arse over to ya."[/smear:#ff0000:1] He'd apologise with a long sigh, scratching at his face again and slowly taking the lollipop from Angies hand. Popping it into his mouth would elict a small "Mmmm" sound from him, since the thing actually tasted rather nice.....Plus, it was helpin to fix his head. He could already feel the relief flowing through him.....it was kinda nostalgic honestly. Getting reminded of how it felt when his Sister sang to him....it was kinda....ni--
"......huh?" Red would ask, his idle sucking on the lollipop stopping, and his eyes widening at what Angie said. She knew. She knew about the explosi---thing that didnt happen.....So....what else did she know? Did she know that he was there? Did she know that his parents were there? Did she know about his sister, too? Wide eyes, Red would just look at her as she asked about it.....while his head was going haywire.
[smear:#1979e6]Shit shit shit shit shit shit shit.[/smear:#ff0000:0] They would both start yelling in his mind. They had to be careful here, anything they said could end up leadinbg to something that Red didnt want to admit.....which meant that they had to listen. He needed to know exactly what she knew, or atleast what she was willing to admit.....and take a gamble on seeing if half truths worked. Slowly, Reds face would sink.....but then he'd take a deep breath, and look Angie dead in the eyes again.
[smear:#1979e6]"....Ha.....Ha you know about that then, eh?[/smear:#ff0000:0]" He'd ask, his eyes just showing off how tired he was.....Maybe he should just....tell her what happened. The truth.....maybe everything would be fi--- Oh no you dont. Hunter'd say, takin over for a sec so that Red didnt fuck this up.....he had a plan, and it would be fine.....he just had to take a gamble with it a little bit. Angie seemed to be trying to imply something happened so.....might as well see what happens when he denies it. Even though nothing did happen. At all. Ever.
"Ehhhh......I can see why you'd come to that kinda conclusion, but its off base, really......I got into a fight last night, alright? I went on a walk cause of....what happened, i ran into some "Old friends", had to defend myself, and then at some point I got hit in the back of the head with a crowbar. Cue waking up under a tree. Wouldnt be the first time, either. I admit it was....weird how my parents just up and bailed, but they are weird people. Odds are they just got transferred somewhere cause of the explosion, and my sisters helping them actually move in and stuff, probably checkin in on em too.....or just plain old telling them off. I would but....Ya know, Im at UA.
Hunter'd.....try to avoid the subject with that. Technically he wasnt completely lying so....hopefully it bloody worked. Sure, he'd probably get detention, but he could hopefully claim self defense......though with his apparently lack of memory he doubted they'd believe either of em. He just had to wait to see how Angie reacted....and hope she assumed his slightly deeper voice was just him being tired.

i'm a doctor, not a therapist Angelica, to her credit, didn't even flinch at Red's quick bite back at her scolding. She waited for him to finish before she raised a brow as if to wordlessly say "Are you done?". She was not his sister or his mother or his girlfriend so she could not care less about his personal feelings. She was just looking at this as a medical personnel. His refusal to be healed just because it "wasn't that bad" or "I've had worse" frustrated her on a professional level, not an emotional one.
"If you want to stop being treated like an infant then I suggest you act like a mature adult and put some molecule of effort into you own well-being. There is a reason adults look after children--they are not capable of doing so themselves. So if you want to be seen as an adult, it would behoove you to do the same. Otherwise, I will treat you accordingly."
His response was in no way subtle. His expression dropped and his voice deepened. Was he getting defensive, or was this him trying to be intimidating? She wasn't impressed. More than that, she was irritated. So now he suddenly remembered how he'd gotten hurt? Well then. "So you either lied to me--the person treating your wounds, a number of your friends, your housemate, and your own girlfriend about not knowing the source of your injuries, or you are lying to me now to get me to change the subject. Which is worse for me to accuse you of? Because I could not tell you which is worse myself."
Angelica reached into her pocket this time rather than the bag of doctor's tools. She withdrew her phone. "I can believe that your parents could have been transferred away after the lab was destroyed. I can even believe that they have not checked in on you with how you have described your relationship with them. However, if your sister is with them," she held her phone out to him, the screen displaying the digital keypad, "Then you should have no issue calling her, and asking her to get in touch with me. I would like to discuss your medical history with her, as she was your medic for so long. It will be shared only with Nakahara-sensei, of course."
Her outstretched arm was steady, her eyes not leaving his.
"And yes, I will only accept if you use my phone to do so, in case you were going to ask to use your own. Feel free to fetch her number from your phone and dial it into mine. If you tell me no...well, I am sure the principle will be quite keen to discuss you getting into fights outside of school."
