Yumi wasn’t really too sure how she was feeling here. She’d expected the first fight of the tournament to be a good one. Her and Feng. Sure Feng and her had a chat about how she feels she’s playing catch up sometimes but she was still an exceptionally competent hero and fighter to boot. Yumi was kinda hoping the two could have a fun bout but… as she learned the reasons why in the infirmary later, such would not be the case for them. Annoying to say the least but… it was what it was. When she realized who she was up against in the second round things didn’t really seem to be looking up for her. Her first fight had ended badly due to Feng’s feeling’s for Red but this… Ugh she didn’t wanna fight Kirk. They’d mostly recovered since the incident and they could even share a laugh in class but yumi just did NOT want to be forced into a ring with him… ah well. She supposed. Sa la vee or however you spell it, she thought to herself as she tried to visualize the letters. Maybe this would be a little good. Feng had tried to, very poorly, vent her frustrations in their fight and while it was still a horrible experience Yumi had managed to recover with her for the most part because it was all out in the open because of it. As she walked out into the battlefield, the mock London square, idly adjusting her suit and her goggles, she wondered if some good could come of the same method. She wasn’t still entirely angry but… maybe a mild bit of payback. Just… venting her frustrations could erase that last little smudge on her record with Kirk right now. Who knows. Maybe… It was a dumb idea, but it was her mentality going into the fight, spying Kirk across the ways and lowering herself into a read position, much like an olytmpian preparing for a sprint, one leg back, one bent forward, hands out and fingertips touching the ground. Around her orange tinted shades her body burst to life as a thin coating of blue electric-like energy shifted across her form, Yumi taking slow breaths through her nose as her Amber eyes locked onto Kirk… Whatever the case, venting or not, she didn’t plan to be making this easy on him. If her match with Feng taught her ANY lessons its that all this personal crap shouldn’t stop her from giving her all. She wasn’t gonna lose just cause she or her opponent weren’t in the best state. She’d constantly regret letting it slip if she did. “Ready when you are, Kirk!” Kirk Bluster

Kirks first fight had been an absolute delight. even with the awkwardness of thinking he was fighting somebody else, the fight really allowed him to show what he could do pure strength vise! That and the arena itself had been perfect for his skills! That big ol exam from ages ago really came in handy for that, that was for sure! And heck, in the end, he had just made a whole new pal from the whole deal. Honestly, the tournament could have started any better for Kirk!
...but the second round was the one he had worried more about anyway. The fight was against someone a little bit awkward. Yumi... It was not awkward just because she was strong. Kirk Had admittedly guessed, that she would win her fight, but that was not it. No, the big issue was the still lingering fear of her being angry with him. Technically it had been settled a while ago, they had talked it through, and ended it with the idea that they were still bros... But she had not still forgiven him. And Kirk wasn't sure if that would mean she would be making it extra hard for him this fight... Worst case scenario of course, would be her outright shouting insults at him during the battle, but Kirk knew she wasn't that sort of person... or well, atleast that she wasn't that mad anymore, right?
However, these thoughts had ended with a clap of his cheeks. "Man, you are gonna be fighting somebody whilst mulling about last winters snows!? You are gonna lose like that, hehe!" Yeah. This stuff was already handled. He had apologized already! AND she still considered him a friend! She would never insult him in front of a crowd! Atleast any harder than a little tease! Darren used to do that all the time! Kirk had already done all he could to help the situation, and now, it was just down to letting the scars heal up! That's how it would do!
But of course, he could always help those scars, by making the fight a fun experience! And that meant no holding back!
Walking into the london square, Kirk couldn't help but whistle, looking at all the big signs. Some of them even included the U.A:s logo, and the students themselves passing by! "We in the big leagues now, I would say!" A last minute check-up of his tools... they were a bit on the peculiar side admittedly: Two huge rubber basketballs, a hockey stick, a tennis racket, and 8 tennis balls strapped across his chest. No baseball bat in sight though... He squeezed his pouch, launching one of the basketballs in the air, bouncing it against the ground with loud *thump thump thump* echoing through the square. These would be his main source of damage and defense... the others were pretty much extra tools to help him situationally.
However, Yumi was already on the case, shouting for him to get started. "Alright, if you say so!" He grabbed the basket ball into his hands, as he smacked, echoing that familiar sound once again. "Time to see if I was truly right about you being worthy of that semi final slot! Though get ready mentally! I'VE ONLY GOTTEN LOUDER!" That's right, last time they had fought, it had been just cause Kirk had wanted to lift her spirits for losing in the first round to Darren. But now? Oh, now the true position was up for the grabs! Both of them had fair chances... but even Kirk had to admit he was in a mild disadvantage. Both in speed and strength. Atleast he had his sturdiness to allow him to take a little bit more hits than her!
But more importantly, since he had the first move, He had to be surprising, yet effective... and for that, he had a SUPER showy move! He glanced quickly towards the statue in the middle of the arena... Before lunging towards it, slamming the the ball against the pavement, using the carrying force of the bounce to make his own hop a bit bigger, as he hopped on top of the statue... "Time for first pitch..." However, weirdly enough, instead of lifting the ball above his head and just lunging for a classic dunk, the guy first just launched the ball towards her, before jumping down the statue, and pushing his pouch against the statue, launching himself with his legs straight, with a basketball at the end like a huge spear towards Yumi! "BLUSTERS CHARGING DUNK!"

As Kirk called out to her Yumi rolled her eyes but with a playful manner behind the motion, lowering her head and shaking it slowly. She was surprised he was managing to be so upbeat but... hey. That was Kirk for ya huh? Plus he wasn't an idiot in the slightest. Even if there was a gap between them he was definitely skilled enough to cover it however he could. "Yeeeah I think my eardrums will savor the mercy when you finally lose your voice.~" She teases back a little, unable to help a small smirk even despite how she was feeling... if there was one thing she could say about Kirk's positivity, it was definitely infectious...
Still. She needed to take this at least... somewhat seriously. Her electricity sparked more vibrantly about herself, preparing to burst off of the ground when she saw an opening. Kirk made the first move and rocketed towards her. At first she thought that was a risky move but... Well. Whether it was just sticking to his theme or actually a smart move, putting the ball infront of his legs actually worked in his favor. Yumi couldn't attack him head on, the rubber would deflect her attack and send it careening past him thanks to it's non-conductive material. A clever, if potentially accidental move.
She lowered her stance further. The one downside Kirk had was he was coming in from a high angle thanks to bouncing off the statue, which meant yumi could go in low. A burst of sparks hit the air ahead of her and her body zipped ahead following the opposing charge at 'lightning' speed, sparks trailing across the ground where she once was as she tried to shift fast under Kirk as he closed in, tendrels of electricity spinning around her to rotate her around, facing Kirk above her now, knowing she had a lot more ability to move mid-launch than he did.
"Nice start Kirk! Not good enough though!"
Throwing her hands upwards together, she channeled an opposing charge through each arm, the charges funnelling together as they collided, creating a piercing, thin, but powerful stream of electrical energy aimed towards the sky above her... a sky that right now Kirk was filling up quite nicely as a target.
Her speed would still carry her whether she hit or not, the electrical tendrels that allowed her to fly pushing off the ground into a triple, rapid backflip before landing in a crocuh, skidding a good few feet until she came to a halt and regained her barings.

Kirk knew a lot about his friends and their abilities, being the bro that he was. And the basketballs as a choice for weaponry were pretty much a calculated decision. Whatever he did, he would need to get atleast moderately close to her to get his attacks off. And all the while, she could be attacking him at range with little barrage of attacks. That, and his bat would have just conducted electricity and sent it back to him. So naturally, it came down to a classic and biggest ball of them all to use. And in the end, any ball could be used like any other as long as you had enough force to do so! And like that, this funky maneuver resembling a kick from quite a few heroes from japanese TV was born!
However, there was a reason why this was not usually used as the opener: The opponent needed to be stunned and unable to move for it to hit. So anybody could wonder why the heck had he done this first? The moment Kirk saw Yumi vanish from his sights (long legs make for a very good aiming reticle), Kirk tightened his body, as his backpack bulged outwards a little bit... And then Kirk felt it! A jolt of electricity snapping against his backpack! The electricity, instead of piercing his thick hide, proceeded to ripple on it, dispersing the electricity, so the shock didn't reach the rest of his body. "NGH!" Not that it didn't smart! However, with the attack taken care of, Kirk knew where Yumi had gone...
And started turning his body around, his eyes locking onto her, as the ball continued forward, eventually hitting the ground... "DOUBLE...!" And with this much force behind it, the ball flattened against the ground, with Kirk squatting against it. It was like a trampouline, answering to weight pressing it down. And that was a hint at what happened next! "PLAY!" As Yumi was still recovering from her own dash, The ball corrected it's shape, with Kirk following it, straightening his legs! This lead into an immensely long range dash, As he proceeded to turn his shoulder forward, reaching his hands towards his pouch, grabbing the long wooden grip...
"Into...!" If she wasn't ready, Kirk would slam straight into her and send her flying. And even if she did dodge, there was still the second step in the technique! Before she could fly too far, either because of the tackle or her dodging, The pouch would open wide, as the long hockey stick emerged from it, Trying to hook and throw her against the ground in a dangerous combo attack!
"WREIGHT TRAIN DEKE!"
Kirk had often relied on the technique of trying to force his opponent to dodge a certain way. Usually this was done by throwing his baseballs in a banana motion so the opponent had no choice but to jump! And in this case, nothing needed more dodging than a giant risky attack, that would hurt a ton if it directly hit, and couldn't be attacked head on! Besides, Kirk knew Yumi. She had never been the sort of girl to like being hit! In that regard, His heart couldn't be more excited, that his plan had worked like a charm, even with a little bit of damage on himself! All this was accompanied by an energetic grin, almost ready to do it all over again!
"You ain't the only one who can zip and zap around anymore, as you can see!" Just seeing that move with the ball in action work like he had wanted, Kirk couldn't help but feel so accomplished! But did the attack itself actually hit? That he hadn't yet reacted to yet, since his ears were ringing.

Kirk was definitely swifter on his feet… or. Balls. As the case technically may be, but Yumi hadn’t been slacking off lately either, pushing herself both mentally and physically in her training and extra courses to achieve the future career she wanted. Her amber eyes quickly locked onto Kirk’s sharp motions behind her tinted goggles, pushing down against the ground as her electrical charge burned more fervently around her.
“Yeah well-!” She let out, barely dodging back from the initial tackle, her sparks slamming her backwards as she tried to get out of range, but the swing of the hockey stick was expertly timed. If she pushed herself she might be able to just barely get out of it’s reach, but she wasn’t up for that today. If she kept playing on the defense she’d be getting flashbacks to her fight against Darren, constantly just trying to put herself at a range Kirk wouldn’t let her manage, and she needed to put herself a little more on the offense here. Plus… it might give Tetsuko the best ‘wrong impression’ if she was watching this fight before their own. She hooked an arm around the hockey stick as it slammed into her side. Her repulsive force helped dampen the hit but the pain clearly radiated on her face for a moment, just before she thrust her other arm forward and held an electrical grin as she practically had her hand right in Kirk’s face.
“You can say I’ve learned something from you brawler types too!~”
Passing over a sewer grate as her body flowed with the hockey stick swing, Yumi’s weight suddenly slammed down as she magnetically glued herself to the metal disk, making sure she was the one with a more grounded hold on the situation. Electrical streams travelled up her arm, attempting to blast Kirk full force through his face. Her electrical current wouldn’t burn but would definitely cause some painful spasms.

The glorious clack and clang of the stick connecting to Yumi and slamming her to the ground satisfyingly confirmed his success somehow even better than just staring her down! However, Kirk had forgotten one thing out of his plan... Despite Yumi being very careful about getting hit usually, the girl really didn't avoid grappling if something actually hit her! And now, just like a reversed situation from way back when, Kirk found himself with a handful of electricity aimed towards him after said grappling had happened! Kirk instinctively proceeded to pull his head and body backwards, trying to tug his hockey stick backwards with him... but it had been locked under her against a sewer grate Kirk hadn't even noticed. In the few milliseconds of awkward realization, Kirk could only sweat a single awkward drop of sweat and utter a brief word in answer...
”…Clever girl…!”
Well, he also closed his eyes, but the flash that followed sure did smart and light up his life for a few precious seconds! For a moment, you could see his skeleton flashing under his skin, as he emitted a loud "BZAZAZAZAZAZAZAT!" sound. God, he hadn't really missed this feeling. But it was still better than being thunderstruck through the chest. However, him not letting go off the hockey stick was probably the first proof, that the guy was still alright. After the blast cleared the guys hair head crackled into a look of some sort of cartoon character from tv, and he couldn't help but gasp out a quick sentence. "T-T-These things RRRReally remind me to-to-to get that helmet for the suit!" Of course, the moment of stuttering was just a cherry on top. Although electricity did empty his head for a moment...
And his shocked brain came up with a whole new idea! "But I've luckily got you right where I want ya! See the resemblance to something?!" And indeed, for a man with mostly sports in their brain, the situation looked really familiar: A round spot, with a target (admittedly usually a ball), And a big ol guy next to it! It was just like a big ol kickoff starting zone for a match... OR! Kirk could feel a lightbulb light up!
Before Yumi herself could even think of the answer though, Kirk wound up his leg backwards, pressing the hockey stick down, trying to lock Yumi in place, and just like a pendulum (at this point turning into quite a classic), He swung his foot forward, with a playmaker maneuver!
"FOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOREman BUSTER!"
A full powered kick towards someone downed was always a bit iffy. But on the other hand, Kirk had already gotten a faceful of electricity, so this was pretty much just a minor hilarious revenge for that! Kirk couldn't help but feel the dopamine pumping, with all the excitement in his guts. If the attack actually hit, the girl would either be sent flying into the air... or if she stayed stuck on the sewer lid, she would probably start spinning out of control in place!
Whatever the case, Kirk would proceed to hop backwards right after the kick, letting go of the hockey stick, with his arm reaching out towards his pouch once again. Class 2-C wasn't the sort to stop just after brief wounds like this! He had to be ready for the counter attack!

“…Oh you did not just-!”
Yumi began a little too late, the charge in her arm already building as a disbelieving grin started to form with it. Did he really just drop a Jurassic park quote on her?! She… oh fuck Kirk why did you have to make her laugh she was meant to be taking this seriously! Even biting at the inside of her cheek a little it was VERY clear she was struggling not to burst out in a giggle just from the audacity of him saying that to her, releasing his hockey stick and undoing her own ‘magnetic glue’ to the sewer grate as the two would likely naturally rear back from their clash, Yumi just barely getting out a staticy chuckle, hissed through her teeth despite trying oh so hard to hold it back.
“You did not just quote Jurassic park in the middle of a serious f-fight! Hahaa!” She almost felt bad for exposing his skeleton now that he had her laughing, briefly failing to get up as she got it out of her system but very swiftly trying to get back into a ready enough state as she met his gaze again. He recovered quickly afterall. Heck with that backpack you could say ‘bouncing back’ was his specialty! OH DAMN! She should use that later when she got a chance!
“Yeah a helmet could do you a world of good! Gotta stick to those sports regulations and all or the safety commission’ll be on your ass!” Ah god she didn’t wanna just devolve into a fun fight but… ah fuck it. That was the key word there. It was FUN. This felt damn good and she really couldn’t deny it. Screw it she’d probably come out on top and even if she didn’t she was hardly gonna regret it if she went out with a laugh in her chest right?~
Of course, her giggles had left her somewhat vulnerable all the same and her gaze would sharpen as Kirk literally went for a football kick to her side while she was still working her way back to her feet, a squeak of fear slipping out just before the impact, and a grunt of pain as it impacted. Sure a projectile her field could help dampen the hit on, but a kick from Kirk still being powered by his muscles? THAT was a hard thing to push back. Not exactly a heavy set hero by any means and Kirk proving time and time again he had far beyond a natural person’s strength limit, Yumi was sent barrelling through the air like… well a football, trying to get her barings back even as she flew.
Spinning sharply in the air, Yumi’s electrical tendrils tried to slow her down but she was going so fast as she tucked her legs into her chest to try and reduce how much of her body she had to balance, that she was basically a cannonball trying to be slowed down by a spiders web. It wasn’t exactly about to happen easily. When she got a glimpse of what was coming, she braced herself.
KRZZZZT
One of the replica Billboard televisions broke her crash, one knee bent, a hand down, a leg stretched out to her side and the TV itself bursting into a barrier of sparks as Yumi’s electricity overloaded it with her sharp stop. She felt some of the heavy duty LEDs crack beneath her but she kinda had to wonder if the shower of sparks and her dramatic pose was making this as cool as it looked in her head.
Her eyes shot up, the goggles Red had designed her helping see through the sparks thanks to their blind resistant qualities. Staying glued to the screen for now, she shot her arms forward in rapid motions as a barrage of electrical shots fired out from the waterfall of sparks around her.
“LETS SEE YOU ‘BOUNCE BACK’ FROM THIS KIRK!~”

...Okay, Kirk had not expected for Yumi to laugh at him all of a sudden. Especially his word choices. Kirk had always been kind of careless in the way he used his mouth. Usually it got him into trouble, and sometimes he just couldn't help but say something that fit the situation! I mean come on! Yumi was really clever with that move! However in case of situations like these, Kirk wasn't exactly the most flexible. How do you defend your word choices in the middle of combat?! "I mean, You know...!" However, it didn't help that she proceeded to outright poke at his mid fight rant about needing a helmet. He wasn't even sure if she was laughing at how obvious it was for him to get one, or if she was laughing at him for even considering!
But he was certain, that it was pretty much the point, where Yumi REALLY looked like she would make for an amazing sportsball to kick! And kick her he did! It felt even a little bit more satisfying thanks to her efforts, and for a moment Kirk could just glare at the glorious arc the girl was making through the skies! Of course, she could fly, but hey! With that force, if he was in the football field, it would be clear bonus point gained from the kick! After all she was flying straight for the...!
KRZZZZZT!
Kirk turned his head away for a second. Man, he had a good aim for painful places even subconsciously. And Yumi was both clever AND sturdy! She would be fine! And heck, there she was... looking like a god damn hero! Honestly, Kirk was a bit jealous. That would make for hell of an image for some magazine. But, Kirk shook his head... Time to get serious again. Yumi was in prime position for more bullets... and with a mighty war cry, she sent them at him! Being in the middle of this bullet hell like scenario would have probably been really scary, if Kirk hadn't seen it before as well! "BOUNCE BACK INDEED! Although electricity doesn't exactly bounce!" Yet again, that fight experience from the past came in handy, as he grabbed another grip in his backpack, pulling out a big tennis racket! "And honestly, I think that's better for me!"
With that bolsterous claim, just like before, Kirk started swinging his racket like a fan, locking his eyes to the projectiles one at a time! As the racket passed over them, the evaporated into much more manageable size shocks! Now they were just a refreshing wake up call, like a little rain on morning jogs! Although of course, some of the bullets hit, getting an awkward "Oof!" Out of him every now and then. However, with all the training he had done, he could multi-task! As his one hand kept swinging, he himself was running towards the ball from earlier! It was still in shape, although there was some discoloring from the electricity and giant pair of footprints from the previous kick! His free hand swooped it under him, as his steps and the bounce of the ball against the ground echoed through this mismatch of thunderous projectiles!
Where the basketball landed was his shoulder, as Kirks head leaned on it! Over time, Kirk had started looking for inspiration for new styles of throwing the damn thing. Needing both of your hands for maximum force on your attacks was awfully hard, and left you wide open so that you couldn't do much but dodge afterwards. However, in this case, he had found a perfect example from the olympic sports. Even though the ball in this case was WAY bigger, and yet maybe a little bit lighter than the actual thing, It was perfect for Kirks personal idea!
"SHOT PUT STYLE: LONG RANGE DUNK!"
Like a spring, his arm launched forward, pushing the ball like a giant sized bullet towards Yumi! With it's rubbery texture, it would probably easily make it through whatever barrier she had, and with the power behind it, the screen would probably just get struck worse for the wear!
However... Kirk had certainly finished off his warm-ups now... His breathing was just a teeny tiny bit heavier too. All that multi-tasking was starting to leave the smallest of marks. But for now, Kirk was just having the time of his life with this huge work out Yumi was putting him through!

“I was referring to you sports-brain!” She called out with a cheeky tone that showed that, as much of an insult as that could be taken as, she was definitely just playing with him, a strong smile on her face and a cheeky chuckle underlying her words, her feet remained stuck to the shattered screen for a moment, a few last fizzles as electricity still tried to run through it, from both it’s source and her, but nowhere near the shower of sparks that it had once been. “But sure I’ll give you electricity ain’t exactly bouncy. Not unless it’s curved lightning!”
… a beat of silence, and she’d blush as she realized pretty much no one would realize she meant she had a ‘bouncy personality’. Ugh…
Kirk was on the move though, a good distraction, trying to wack away her shots with his racket. The rubber like stringing of the thing definitely helped, basically cutting her larger charges into manageable chunks. If it was anyone else Yumi might have gotten frustrated but… ah fuck she had to love Kirk’s energy. Any notions she had of coming in here and being 100% serious were pretty much gone the moment they actually started fighting, a bliss level sigh flowing out of Yumi’s nose as she crouched against the screen, ready to move at a moment’s notice.
God even in the middle of battle he had time to dribble the ball rather than just pick it up. She’d have to ask later if that was actually just more convenient for him. She pulled back her barrage for a moment, unable to continue it without cutting off her own vision a bit and leaving herself open for a shot. While she was feeling pretty okay both her and Kirk had taken roughly the same amount of hits from eachother. If you count her barrage as a single attack of course. They both had their ways to reduce the overall damage they took but in Yumi’s head they were on a pretty level playing field. She had to find a way to shift the tides here a little and give herself the advantage…
“Sorry Kirk, but I think Recess is over!” She called out, trying to maintain the cheeky banter they had going. As the ball slammed towards her through the air, cutting through it with a sound and weight much more similar to a cannonball to her ears, Yumi reached back to her hip, un-clasping one of her lightning rods from her belt and throwing it forward with magnetic enhancement, a thick coating of blue electrical energy swirling around it, and adding a bit of a spin to curve the shot. “Time to put your toys away!”
The moment she heard the lightning rod and Basketball meet, the satisfying pop of the rubber sports toy that would follow in the millisecond after, Yumi shot up into the air, shoving herself as fast and hard as she could off the screen. Her arc of travel had her above Kirk, her head the lowest part of her body as she swirled like a true acrobat with her legs curved above her in the air. The first rod she’d thrown would narrowly wiz past Kirk, embedding itself in the ground not too far away from him. “Hey how about I try this whole naming thing today!” She unclasped her three remaining rods, firing them all down as she lingered in the air above Kirk, the remaining three swirling around eachother briefly before arching out and slamming into the ground around Kirk, the four rods spaced roughly like a square with him in the middle.
“CURVED LIGHTNING’S REDDARC SPECIAL!”
Flipping back to her feet as she came to a electrically cushioned landing, Yumi was facing Kirk, both arms forward, fingers curled towards him and palms meeting, as if she was about to fire one hell of a blast his way. She paused ever so briefly, a small beep ringing in her ears as the connection her goggles had to her lightning rods confirmed they were ready, and with an almost smug little smile, she turned her attacking hands back, still outstretched, but snapping her fingers in both hands instead.
“Electro Hell…!~”
The tops of each of the lightning rods burst open in three directions, revealing a heavily pulsating inner layer that was holding a wild and un-refined version of Yumi’s charge. There was a second or so to notice this before all four of them found the nearest target. The inside of the rod was coated in a non-conductive material, so the charge didn’t see moving past it’s opened up casing a good move. It saw the fleshy meatbag in the middle though and… well. The results were clear enough.
It wouldn’t be any stronger than one of Yumi’s usual attacks, but in her head it was at least far, far more clever.~

...Man, all this talking and these silly jabs made Kirk think of Darren. Just the briefest thought of him training with him after class... him throwing all these funky insults his way. Admittedly, most of class C had always been ready to throw a bit of smack whenever it came to saying something, But it was always taken with a bit of a grunt at the worst. Kirk had never exactly been the quickest wit in the building, but in the end, that's just how he worked. He was like a motor, which needed winding before it got properly going. And when that machine was running, he was at his happiest. And in this regard, after a full year of being out of his element, just the fact that things had returned to normal, and he still had most of his bros at his side... Even without Darren or his grandpa around...
Kirk couldn't help but feel relieved, even if tired.
The next taunt coming out of Yumis lips caught him off guard. Although this time, his ears perked up, almost like waiting for the punchline! "Recess?!" And soon enough, he heard a loud POP! as the ball he had launched did just what the sound implied! "WHOA!" He could feel the thing whizzing by his ear. The air crackling in his hair, as he instinctively pulled his head away from it, with yumi finally throwing her line. "Pfeh! Maybe you should play with em more often! Would get used to a bit of roughhousing!" It was time for Kirks turn at an insult! "That and it would teach you how to actually CHUCK!" Admittedly, he had not expected the ball to pop. But thank god it had maybe changed the trajectory of whatever yumi had...
Wait just a minute! His head briefly turned over to look, behind him, noticing that the electricity hadn't dissipated! What was going on?! Yumis shout confirmed his assumptions, something was coming! Yet, Yumi saying it would come with an actual technique name surprisingly filled Kirk with excitement! "Well, what are you waiting for!? BELLOW IT OUT!" That shout almost hid the fact that 3 more of those lightning strikes struck the ground. And when the name sounded, Kirk was at first very confused! "Wait, RED!?" Okay, wait a minute...! If it's red inspired, then it had to be something wind related! But nah, it couldn't be just that! His head turned towards the little pillars in small amount of time, as he understood! "Lightning rods!?" Reds nerdy technology! And as Yumis finger guns clicked in his direction, Kirk let out a quick "Crap!" As he proceeded to throw his racket towards one of them! But that was only thing he could do, before the lightning emerged! one of the four snapped on to his racket, as it smacked against, but the other tree snapped onto him like some sort of lasso!
"GAAAAAAAAAH!" His body was trembling and rippling! Man it hurt... But he had to be quick, or else this would maybe outright knock him out! As long as his arms were free, he wasn't stopping! His arms reached out to his ammo belt, grabbing onto two tennis balls, as he raised them high, and chucked them against the ground! "Rrrrrreds gadgets huh!?" With a loud PATOINK, the balls bounced off of the ground, getting in between the shocks and Kirk himself, flying against them and tipping them over... "GOOD MOVE! Good move, but! You made one mistake!" Admittedly, Kirk had not even considered bringing something of somebody elses into the tournament. Being a bro to all, he could have almost felt bad. But he had something Yumi didn't. As the last streak continued zapping him, now without all the spazzing out, he continued to speak, as he squatted. "Because I still have the strongest gadget in the world!"
"MY MUSCLES!" And once again he dashed! Kirk had always been about the most basic of maneuvers, but done to their perfection! With his arms in front, He pretty much trampled the gadget under his feet, as he kept running... his suit was charred and his shoes beaten but his absolutely insane resolve was still going strong! But now, Kirk needed to finish it! "They work in unison like a team!" He ran towards Yumi, once again looking like he was about to tackle her... but he had no weapons this time! How would he be able to do anything? Well, he had saved his best for last! As he was almost up to her, he squatted... And jumped! He clasped his knees against his chest... and opened his pouch! "And my pouch makes it into..." With that, Like a humongous roundabout bug net, He would try to scoop Yumi into it, as the pouch would clamp on her from all sides! "A ONE MAN BENCH PRESS!" The technique, that last time had secured him his semi-finals spot!
But this time, he wouldn't leave anything to chance! If he was successful, he would proceed to grab her from the pouch, and slam her against the ground, trying to get her out of it as fast as possible.

Well… that was satisfying to say the least!~
Yumi hadn’t managed to use the gadgets Red made for her… oh it must have been a month back now, exceptionally effectively ever since he’d made them for her. Sure she’d used one as ammunition for her railgun in the fight against Feng and tried to manipulate one of her own shots using them against her too, but really with how quickly Feng had reacted to the latter, and how poorly she’d reacted to the former, neither could really be classified as ‘succesful’ in the red head’s mind. However. This? This was definitely a win, practically trapping Kirk in the middle of an electrical prison that was pumping a juicy charge through him to the ground. She knew he was a tough cookie and she couldn’t rely on this to finish the match, but it was certainly a blow she was proud of.
“That good enough for ya kirk? Electro Hell! Kinda proud of that one!” She’d cheekily chime as he endured a majority of the shots that had fired his way, snickering a little when he wasn’t looking. She definitely felt a bit of smug satisfaction in catching him there but not smug enough to spoil the mood by any means. In fact her smugness turned to a worried, if impressed look as he took out each of her lightning rods one by one. That was her own special ammunition for the match unloaded it seemed, and the two of them were left with their most base toolset to finish this fight off. Fair enough she supposed. And besides, without being rude she was definitely sure she had the advantage there!
Before Kirk had even truly hit his max speed as he began sprinting towards her, Yumi was darting backwards, keeping her eyes on Kirk as she zipped and whipped back along the fake London square or whatever this place was called. “Aw come on Kirk, you really think you can keep up wi-WOAH!”
A miscalculation. So used to training in the more level playing field of UA’s training rooms and ground alpha, Yumi’s heel had managed to catch on the curb of the fake street, alarm clear in her eyes even through her tinted goggles, her immense speed forcing her to crash back into a tumble, the world spinning around her, barely managing to stop herself in an only ‘half ready’ position, and even then the world continued to spin, turning her eyes sharply back to Kirk in the hopes she could get a quip out to cover herself before he-
“… THE HELL ARE YO-“ Yumi’s cries of confusion rapidly became muffled as she found herself wrapped up in Kirk’s backpack quirk. Ugh. This. Nope. She did NOT like this. She was all for new experiences quirk but getting vored by your back skin was not one of them. She struggled hard against the weirdly muscular lining of the sack, trying to push out against it, even letting out some mild sparks but the muscle spasms only locked her in tighter, growling as she tried to get herself back out before Kirk could initiate whatever he planned to be his next step.
Okay Yumi… one last ace in the whole… if there’s ever a fight your gonna use it on why not the one where you ain’t so worried about winning anymore? The moment light peered back into the captive sack, watching Kirk try and reach in to grab her, Yumi smirked as she yelled out in her head something far different from the words she’d actually get out.
‘Pikachuuuuuuuuuuuuuu!’
“KAMIKAZEEEEEEE!”
Kirk managed to grab her arm and attempted to slam her down out of his sack, but the moment Yumi had the burst of adrenaline that came from a sharp stabbing pain like that, her body locked up and every muscle in her body burned as she went for full output. The regulating efforts her suit put on her quirk turned off in an instant, as almost the entire arena was filled with thick streams of electricity burning in all directions, crashing through billboard screens, overloading the lampposts, popping the lightbulbs in the crossing point signs. With Kirk and Yumi both at ground Zero, Yumi even trying to hold onto Kirk’s own arm to make sure he didn’t have an easy way out of this.
Of course, even with the size of the burst Yumi couldn’t remain still, she rolled to her side with every droplet of strength she could muster once it was over, her ponytail having come loose as she fried her hairband into oblivion even with it’s electro-resistant traits. She hopped back a few steps, taking on a fighting stance she didn’t typically hold, panting harshly as her loose hair fell around her features, ready to take this fight on Kirk’s terms if that didn’t manage to finish the fight.
Maybe Yumi was imagining it but she was pretty sure she could hear the audience getting hella hype, even through the protective dome put around this fake street arena.

...Kirks worries had backfired. Last time when he had used this technique, Elise had stabbed him with something in the pouch. So in this case, the importance in the girl being atleast a little bit dazed after being crushed was of utmost importance! And with his strength, he thought he could quickly attack her again... But of course, she didn't lose consciousness. How was she still awake!? That was literally an attack from all fronts! Of course, he couldn't think these things the moment he tried to pull her out. Because in that moment, the only thing he could hear, was something being shouted right next to his ear... And he had seen enough movies to know what that meant. "WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA-!?"
The shout of confusion turned into his now quite common shocked shout of PAIN! Just all this chaos around him exploding, as he himself couldn't get away! The balls on his chest turned to dust! His body was spazzing again, as he could almost feel every inch of his body frying! And once the wave had passed, and Yumi rolled away... the sight might have been a little bit surprising. Kirk was still standing. "You... Just... Keep shocking me... You'd think... A resistance would form... after like 3 times..." Last year, Tetsuko had finished him off with a similar barrage. Kirk was feeling his shoulders getting awfully heavy. He couldn't help but gasp for air tiredly, as He shook his head to keep himself conscious. Ugh, was this his loss? He looked towards Yumi...
And realized the girl hadn't exactly zipped away like usual... No, this time she had just adopted a position like preparing defend herself desperately. And Kirk couldn't help but grin. "So... We are BOTH running low on batteries, huh!?" Something weird happened. The boys back straightened. His posture got better, And in the end, he huffed air out his nostrils with a chuckle. The boy was like he had received a big ol boost of energy! "You've really made me run marathon here, bro!" And there was one simple reason for that... He saw the goal right in front of him! The one last stretch to reach it... And for that...
"BUT MY BODY DEMANDS THAT ONE EXTRA MILE!" He dashed forward, his body giving him that one more plus on Ultra for effort! Of course, his body was too tired for any super complicated huge moves now, but he could still do the things most natural to him. As soon as he reached Yumi, He would start kicking towards her. These light yet powerful kicks repeatedly flying towards her! It was almost like some awkward improvised style of kick boxing! However, his arms tried to occasionally latch onto her to guarantee these kicks hitting! "It's the final stretch!" Her pelvis and gut were like a football in his mind, his body trying to keep it in the air, before winding up this huge goal kick, making the rest of his body spin around with it, only to open his pouch and trying to smack her as hard as his tired body still could for one more 1-2-combo! His skin was starting to get red from exhaustion. God, his legs would hurt after this!
But, in this situation, it truely felt like he was sticking his tongue out to get that picture finish! He just needed to give a little bit more than her. JUST A LITTLE BIT MORE! The crowd echoed the statement, As both his and Yumis names were echoing in the air. "Try to keep up with the SPORTSMAN OF U.A, Prez!" If it came down to a simple slugfest, Kirk wouldn't lose!

Even in her ready position there wasn’t much Yumi could do when Kirk rushed in with his assault. While she’d been trying to get better with how she could handle herself when her quirk wasn’t an option, she still was far behind the rest of the class who trained in martial arts WITH their quirk, heck even further behind those who’s quirks could enhance their direct fighting style like Kirk. For Yumi it was always a last minute defense strategy. A stalling tactic for when he quirk needed to recharge or… worse came to worse, to help her put up more of a fight till a hero with some juice left in them got there.
With Kirk’s barrage she barely managed to keep her feet on the ground, sharp shifts of her elbow and thighs interrupting direct blows of his kicks but the force radiated through her all the same and she was taking one hell of a beating, barely feeling the toes of her backfoot grace the ground before she shifted to try and handle the next strike. If this was all their fight came down to, much like the end of her fight with Darren, it’d be Kirk’s win no question… but she just had to hold out…!
A harsh kick followed by a thick slap of his backpack across her torso and Yumi was sent hurtling back, her body aching but far from down and out. She could just barely feel the tickle of electricity sparking beneath her skin as her secondary muscles kicked back into gear. Bursts of energy poured out of her, catching her, slowing her initial crash, her shoulder skimming harshly off the pavement once before flipping into a more ready position, her hair not flickering like a live wire behind her anymore, instead unleashed from it’s ponytail it hovered around her, suspended in air as crackles of energy darted between individual collections of her hair fibres.
“Heh… give you… an inch… you think you can take the whole mile huh…?~” She managed out trying to get one last quip going. She looked to the shoulder she’d crashed on… the pavement hadn’t been merciful. Thicker streams of energy leaking out of very fine cuts in the technical fabric. She rose up to a stand. She still had a few good shots but if this dragged out too much she was gonna be burning more energy than she needed to with her suit damaged.
Still… she mustered one hell of a smile.
“Alright Kirk… lets give you another inch eh?~ You’ve seen this one before…!”
Pulling her arms back, purposely distancing them from eachother, Yumi channelled opposing charges in each of her arms. One burning a brighter blue, the other taking a deeper color, opposing sparks clashing and radiating above her as the ground around her became scorched and marked by the erratic tendrels of energy. “Ya know… I really gotta start writing down the names of these cause I’m sure I had one for this…!~” She tease with a cheeky smirk, before lurching forward, burning energy crackling through the air as she pushed her palms together where each met her wrist, and twisted. Two opposing electrical strands shot out of her limbs with a twist, their opposing energies forcing them to try and escape eachother, leading to a spiralling swirl of energy that expanded and burned through the ground as it hurtled towards Kirk, Yumi’s smile still evident at the center of this electrical spiral if his keen eyes could catch it.
What ever happened… she really appreciated this. It was… a change of pace she really needed.

The girl was keeping up with him. Many of the kicks that he sent her way were blocked! But Kirk could feel it in each of his kicks. The girl was pushed each time a little bit. Like an axe against a tree. Thus just like that, the blows kept repeating! She didn't have time to punch back, just being forced to keep doing this, and Kirk could take full advantage of it. However, after his moment that he thought would end in a glorious timber came... Instead, the girl rose up from a rough landing, with her hair vibrating, similarly to that time back when he had angered her. But this time... Kirk didn't fear it at all. He didn't have regrets. He hadn't made any mistakes. This was what they both had wanted. And like two warriors, beaten down by the elements (one more literally than the other), They stared each other down, with grins on their faces.
"I told you last time... When you are this close to the goal, you give it your all!" However, in Kirks case, his legs had started trembling, just the littlest bit. The quick attacks had taken their toll. He didn't have enough energy to run around anymore. Maybe he could reach out and send the basketball towards her? Knock her out? But she was already coming around. With one last quip she charged... Kirk reached out towards his pouch, as the ball came to his hands... But a maneuver he recognized? What was it? Her talk about names, Kirk tried to remember if she had given it a name... but she hadn't said anything back then to his memory... But the move, that had lost him the match... That he remembered!
With the ball in his hands, he quickly bounced back a little! He looked around, as the blast of the two humongous projectiles, swirling like some sort of twin dragons towards him, leaving only the smallest space in-between them emerged! Last time, he had bounced off a wall! But, every wall was too far away for a direct flight! That and last time he hadn't been able to put his pouch down fast enough, and pretty much crippled it for the rest of the competition! Launching a ball towards it wasn't an answer anymore either... the blasts were just too darn big! At this point... he just wanted to fall over... and that's how he had always launched himself before... maybe if...!
Kirk breathed in... It was worth a try. Though if it failed, this was gonna hurt!
Like fainting, he spun, facing his side towards the blasts. as his body fell, he hugged the ball tightly, and is his body made contact with the ground, the pouch gave him one final push. However, this time, his pouches push was a little bit more special. Instead of just launching him in a direction, this time, the pouch proceeded to push him up in a way, that gave him a spin. Like a spinning baseball blurred by the momentum, the boy spun, rolling the open pouch around his body, like a cape. And for a moment, he was surrounded by sounds of electricity and thunder and his heartbeat, as with his timing, he passed through the middle of the beams, unharmed, landing onto his feet. The pouch opened, and behind him, there was a loud sound, of the beams colliding with one of the fake buildings.
But, as he landed, trying to stand up proper, his legs screamed. "Hnnnng!" The weight of the basketball on his arms just felt like the greatest weight in his life. and with that Kirk fell down to his backside. For a moment, he just breathed calmly, letting the feeling of excitement wash off of him. His heart was beating like a machine gun, and his body was getting hotter by the minute, as his body was starting to relax. "Well..." With his body like this, and with her having her electricity back again, Kirk sighed. Kirk proceeded to raise his hand up. "I give! That's it for me!" They could hear the crowd cheer, with the usual fare of the victors name being announced, and all of that. "Just by that inch though! Told ya you could do it! Hehe..." This time it was one hundred percent official, no way for her to take this victory as a bad thing!
"But you gotta admit!" Surprisingly, Kirks vocal chords were still completely fine and ready to swing around. "That had to be the coolest dodge you've seen in your life! I mean, it was literally like being a guy in a movie!" With childish excitement, he just put the basketball on the ground. "It just needed one more "HASTA LA VISTA, BABy!" and me throwing this at you, and it would have been perfect!" Kirk couldn't help but laugh. He had certainly gotten an experience too. Just this feeling of having been successful at so many things, outright dodging the attack that had previously put him down! He sighed one more time. Of course, he had still lost... but situation was similar to last year. The person he had lost to was once again a friend. and at this point, victory didn't seem to matter that much anymore. He hobbled onto his feet, and lifted his hand in yumis direction, and said the only word combo left to say. "Good game, bro!"

Yumi was briefly just blinded by her own attack. While the beams were still close to her and the funnel they created still somewhat narrow all Yumi could see was the two shades of blue electricity swirling about one another till the channel started to open and she could see what Kirk was doing finally. Shifting his weight about, Yumi wondered if he was just turning to run. Ah well, she’d probably still be able to graze him with the speed and size of the attack as it spread apart. That or he was gonna turn tail entirely and take a page from the Prometheus book of running away from things. Who really knew other than Kirk. Still, as she eased her position, but got ready to react all the same, Yumi could only really watch in the end.
And watch she did, as Kirk almost seemed to dribble himself like a ball, falling back before fluidly bouncing himself into a spin, the extended back skin maybe giving him just enough air time as it spun with his body to get past the swirling strands, which dug deep into one of the fake buildings, easily eating away at half a fake room’s worth of brick work. Yumi was honestly a little surprised it did that sort of damage, nervously chuckling as she realized she may wanna pull that move back a bit before employing it against actual criminals, eyes quickly enough shifting back to Kirk as he landed. She reacted quickly, raising an arm and supporting it with the other to steady her aim-!
But of course, it wasn’t needed in the end, Kirk falling to his ass with a comical sound added just in Yumi’s own head, snickering a little behind her arm as she noticed and giggling more heartily when he said he gave. Not laughing at him by any means, nodding along as she started to cross the arena towards him. “Ah ya know what, I’m kinda with ya there… HOO. I mean JESUS my arms are killing me…” She flexed her hands in and out as she walked over to Kirk, with her quirk working off of every other muscle fibre, using up this much juice was definitely leaving her aching in the limbs.
“Glad you said it first though…” She’d just idly tease with a gentle smile, reaching him where he sat on the ground, offering a hand out to help him to his feet. “Good game bro.” She’d parrot back, taking his hand with a warm smile and-
Very likely eating the pavement. Her limbs were a bit weak now afteral and if anyone could be considered ‘heavy with muscle’ it’d be quirk. Yumi’s attempt to help him to his feet ended up with her almost pulling herself into the ground beside him. The crowd gasped for a moment, some considering it might have been a dirty trick from Kirk, till Yumi obviously started giggling her ass off.
“Kirk you really need to lay off the protein! HAHAHAH!~”
