"Ok.....Ok, lets just....take a breath and get ready for whats about to happen." This was Red had to keep telling himself, as he tapped his foot on the ground, trying to calm himself down. He'd somehow made it through the first round of the tourney.....even if that fight had been more him trying to deal with a man who refused to actually fight him and used hit and run tactics on him. He'd have to commend the guy later for using the field to his advantage later, even if it had been really infuriating in the moment.....a shame that he ended up forfieting instead of letting him knock his block off, but hey, he'd still won so, it was fine right? Even if it was a bloody fluke.
Still, there was no time to dwell on that right now. He'd gotten himself fixed up thanks to the guys in the infirmiry, wearing a couple of actual bandages on his legs, to account for the cuts Luka'd gave him. The person in charge of the place had a healing quirk, but Red'd opted to just get helped the old fashioned way, since he wasnt as bad as anyone else. His left arm was pretty much covered in bandages thanks to him letting it get ripped up, but for now, it'd function as well as it usually did. He just had to get through this match, and he could give it a proper rest for tomorrow.....cause GOD, would he need it if he won.
He couldnt get too ahead of himself here though. His opponent this time would probably end up making him fighting Luka look like a cake walk in comparison. Rowan Sakamoto, one of the Reps of 2-A if he remembered correctly.....or 2-B, his memory wasnt....exactly in the best place these days, especially with the headaches. Still, He'd actually have to know things about her to blame his memory.
All he knew was that she was the heiress to some big company that had a hotel nearby.....if what Yumi told him about that survival course she went too was accurate. He really should have gone with her but he'd not gotten the chance, maybe he'd have more info. Beyond that, all he knew was that her quirk had something to do with fire or explosions, considering what he'd seen from the bleachers when she fought......which was having on affect on how worried he was for this fight.
He was going up against someone who'd been at UA well before him, so she had much more pratical experience and quirk training under her belt, and beyond knowing her quirk and vague moments of her fight with Miku, he was flying blind......and he was gonna have to worry about the headaches the whole time, this time it was a gurantee......so Red had to end this quickly, otherwise his chances of winning went down the drain....atleast in the way he wanted.
Still, he couldnt dawdle forever. Eventually he got knocked out of the endless loop of worrying by someone banging on the door to tell him he was up, and he nervously marched his way over to the arena. Apparently they'd switched it out from Stone Henge to some recreation of Piccadilly Circus which.....well most English people didnt like London so watching it blow up might have been cathartic to some people......even if it reminded him of.....nothing. Absolutely nothing at all. Nothin at all to do with his paren---
[smear:#1979e6]"Ah my fuckin.....head.....come on....not now...."[/smear:#ff0000:1] He'd wince, clutching his head for a second before shaking the pain outta his head. He really didnt need this right now, he needed to focus, dammit. His thoughts briefly through themselve sin Yumis direction which......god, he would have liked to see her right now, maybe get another kiss or a hug or something, that'd probably help him calm down.....probably.Eventually, Red'd find himself on his side of the arena, taking a look around at the place. It really was a pretty good recreation of the place, even if he'd only seen pictures of it recently. If Yumi'd come up with another funny and adorable way for the announcer to introduce him, then he didnt hear it. He was too busy trying to just calm his brain down and focus. Thats all he had to do, just focus on the match, hopefully win, and he could just throw whatever his brain was doing to piss him off out and hang out with Yumi. Everything would be fine. Absolutely, positively fine."Ok....Ok.....calm down.....Its time to figure out if winning round one was a fluke or not...." He'd tell himself, grabbing the Chibi Yumi around his neck and hiding it in his palm, bringing it up to his ear and listening to "Yumi" encourage him....he really need that right now.....
Cause, unbeknownst to him, there was a certain bastard in the back of his brain getting ready for what was about to come.....and smiling like the bastard he was. [smear:#070707]Cause everything was gonna be completely fine......right?[/smear:#ff0000:0]

What was she feeling? There were too many things that she had to consider and her mind had not made up yet. She was so unsure over what feeling to settle on that you might call it a sort of mental dizziness is what she felt. She had not really prepared, the nurse here had given her some remedies to get over the nausea feeling that Miku had bestowed upon her. Sitting down, breathing exercises and drinking ginger tea. She was doing better now, the sense was gone so that worked well enough. Of course, she was still covered in bruises and had a cut lip but she was doing fine, in the physical sense. Rowan Sakamoto, second year student, surprising class president, her life had taken a weird road that she had not been able to follow, not now, not this whole year. She had thought her enemy was gone because she had not seen or heard her for a year. That year had given her the time to follow her internship with Shockwave, Blue Agathe and Wildheart and not to forget Hellhound. They all had taught her something and that she was entirely grateful for. She had learned to stop to fear her quirk, she had learned that she was in control, not only Junko-sensei had taught her that but also Tetsuko. It was up to her to work further with it. To stop being afraid of hurting people, though she had hurt Miku.
Heck, another crack in the pavement. She walked a few steps forward to the arena, this one was different than the one where she had fought Miku. That one had been better for Miku. With the grass around and she might even feel a bit guilty for the pair that they were. Fighting fire wasn't fun and she had accidentally smacked Miku in the face. She took a deep breath, the expression on Miku's face had been everything, the fact that it angered Rowan instead of making her pity her friend was so ridiculous. But how much longer was Miku going to shut her out? Rowan couldn't handle it. She watched the floor as she made her way with a slow pace to the arena. She wanted her friend to talk to her, heck it was alright to cry in front of her because she lost, that match had been draining and not fun for Rowan too. She hoped this one would not be like that, maybe it helped she did not know Reddarcc very well, but that did not mean she would try and create explosions in his face. Why did she sign up again? Oh, right... to prove herself she was in control of her quirk.
Maybe she should focus on what happened after the jury decided it was Rowan's win. She took a deep breath, or not. It might make her brain turn into liquid and she would be fuzzy and strange and unfocused. Ha, she was already there as she lifted up her hand without thinking. Her left hand softly touched her mouth, especially her lips that had kissed Sean. Great, her brain had already become mush after the first fight. She could still not imagine how she had stood up, walked over to him and straight up kissing him. That had not been the plan, but the plan had been thrown away and this is apparently what her feet and heart had decided. Well, at least it was her own heart now, her own thoughts. That was something. She still had so many questions about the procedure of the split, but it was no time for that. No, she had to focus.
She had to sort of forget all that had happened in the last hour and get ready for this fight, after all, she did not want to be like a big baby, that would be no fun for anyone in the tournament. She eventually entered the arena, she had dropped her hand and her arms were simply on the side of her body. She stood at the entrance and looked around. How did they all build this? This was London. Huh, her grandmama might even be slightly happy. But Rowan wasn't, there was nowhere to hide beside the meeting spot. The legend of that thing made her mind all stupid and giggly again and she looked at the statue that everyone called Eros. She did not want to think about it and walked a little further. Picadilly circus but deserted, hm when would you ever see that in the world? It was definitely a perfect replica, the so-called street where she came from, would in London lead to her favourite bookstore. Going to the now dead-end road on her left would bring her to Hamley's and Soho. She had not gone to London this Christmas or Summer and maybe she regretted it slightly.
Her open expression turned a little darker, it was time to focus as she noticed Reddarcc. She hoped they would cheer for her again now, even if she might not be able to hear it. But she needed to focus, this wasn't a fun trip to London. Ripley's had no hiding spot, the street lanterns wouldn't be enough and neither would the railing of the underground be. The alleys were closed off, there was no hiding. She did not exactly know his quirk, but what she would assume was that he was a lot faster than her, she had never really focused on that. All she could do was her best. She gave a shy wave to the person on the opposite side of her, okay it was going to start any time soon. She had to think of a plan, a plan to figure out what to do, how to move away from someone and what to use. Her hero outfit came with a vizier for the explosions, was a suit that covered her from shoulder to toes, her hair up in a bun and her belt that was a part of it carried two small pouches. One on her left with marbles, one on her right with bouncing balls. She could not use the stones as the last round. She would have to find other ammunition.

"God.....when did the waiting before a fight get this unbearable?" Red would ask himself, still hiding Chibi Yumi in his palm as he rapid fired the button as much as he could. It was kind of weird hearing Yumis own voice start to bug out and cut itself off or overlay 5 different presses of "You can do it Red!" into one instance, but it didnt take away from the fact that it was really helping him cope with....whatever he was feeling right about now. He knew it was dread, but he didnt know why.
Usually when he was fighting someone he figured was stronger than him, he'd be excited at the chance to see if he could backflip over the wall, so what was wrong? He thought he'd finally gotten a lock on what his feelings were these days thanks to Yumi, but now he was back in the confusion pit of "What is this feeling?" again, and for the life of him, he couldnt bloody figure out why.
While the announcer was doing all of the usual things, announcing the rules, who they might be fighting next, odds of winning, all that Jaz, Red was barely paying attention. He was either looking at the floor in front of him, or staring blank into space, with a rather.....emotonless look on his face. He was trying his hardest to focus right now but the waiting was killing him. His head was being a cunt and giving him a headache again, luckily letting it look like he was just shaking it off instead of listening to his girlfriend encourage him. Eventually though, an idle comment about Rowan waving at him would snap him outta it for a second.
"H-huh?" O-oh uhhh.....Yo" He'd awkwardly wave back, scratching his face afterwards and finally being able to pull some of his 5 brain cells back from whatever they had decided to torment him with this day and actually focus. ....God she probably thinks im not gonna much of a problem now, huh? He'd think to himself, not letting a chance of self deprication slip from his grasp. Dont worry about it man, just focus on the fight.....everything'll be finneeeee.... The voice in the back of his head would tell him.....with a slight sarcastic tone, for once. Huh.....that was....different. It probably didnt matter much though, might have just been him imagining things again or something.
After what felt like a bloody eternity....even though realisitically it was only a minute or some, with Red idly generating to try and focus on SOMETHING, the Announcer would finally ring the damn bell, which at this point sounded like music to Reds ears. His head was still experiencing a bit of unexplained dull pain, but hopefully it was just a tiny carry over from last fight, his brain snapping to attention and putting all its focus on one thing.....How to get this show on the road.
Theres was a few options he could use here.....he could see Rowan, so he could just blast in her direction and try and end this as quickly as possible.....but considering how that went last time, probably not the best option. He could let her take the first move, but that meant that she could get a chance to plan herself, and Red'd just have to dodge and react.....and as nice as that sounded....that just wasnt his style.
So, he decided on a very simple course of action.....information gathering. He had to know what Rowan could do if he wanted to end this quickly, and to that he'd need need to go on the offensive. But he couldnt just rush in, cause last time he did that, he'd ended up getting stabbed about five times before he even SAW his opponent, technically so.....he'd have to take a smarter approach to this. Had to make sure he could actually do something before he started taking hits this time.
So, using the wind that he'd generated already, he'd make a beeline for the middle, towards the statue in the middle, jumping up to use the flat base of the middle piller as a launch pad. It probably would have been easier to just dash to the left or right of it, attempting to copy Yumi's zig zag firing patterned she'd used against Darren last year, but he didnt know how well Rowan could move. For all he knew, she was as fast as him, so she could use the pillar as cover if he wasnt careful.....but if he was above it, it'd be a LOT harder to use.
Once he was airborne, he'd cock his other leg back, gather wind around it, and fire it forward, sending a wave of air in Rowans direction. He had to see how she reacted, what she could do, that kind of stuff. However, almost immeditaly after the wind left his leg, he'd gather the small remainder left and fire it backwards from his jumping leg, boosting his momentum to try and get behind her. He wasnt about to leave himself in the air, especially not when she could possibly counter attack......now he just had to wait to see what Rowans response would be.

She said she would focus, waving to Reddarcc wasn't than her smartest strategy. She had not waved before at Miku. Good god she had screwed up that one really well, had she not? She wasn't sure how to think about it. Making her best friend feel like a third wheel because her thoughts had gone to the boy that suddenly showed up.
Focus Rowan.
Oh, yea of course. She noticed Red waving back at her, that was really nice. She just hoped it would be a nice fight, that she would not look like an idiot in the first few seconds. Also, she hoped that she would not get an immediate kick in her stomach again. She did not like vomiting again on television or well just the big screens for the audience. Wait, this was on the television, right? Oh great. Stagefright part 2. Right, focus as she just thought before. She needed to make sure that her thoughts would not drift off to what she did or did not do in her fight to Miku. She should also not think about what she did after her fight because kissing Sean had been such a good idea. Nope, but it had been eh... nice? The timing had been horribly wrong and oh Miku's face and what she said.. and.. FOCUS ROWAN.
She did not know Red's quirk so she had to focus on what he was doing. God, he had a lot of gear that reminded her of... NO! Right, so what was his quirk again? She should have done better research but she had not, she had refused to watch the old tournaments and she had blitzed through watching the finales focusing on the other schools because of her lack of memory. Yea, this did not really help to stay focus. She internally apologized for her wave to him, he awkwardly waved back and she seriously hoped he had not mind that she did. She just wanted to remain friendly? Not everyone was happy with explosions around, in that case it had been lucky that her first match was Miku. Miku would forgive her.... right?
Finally, she heard the bell. Rowan... Focus. She told herself for the thousand times. And she focused again, eyes on the opponent, she had almost thought enemy but that was someone else. That someone else wasn't here and that someone else wasn't going to bother her ever again if the prison system just did what it had to do. There, done it. Next. Wow, he was fast! She wasn't... something to remind herself that her morning run should have a goal! Ruuuun! She thought to herself but where to go, the statue or the meeting place was still too far from her reach and then what, it's not like she could explode that whole thing! She would go to her left though, to where that thing was and try to run that way. She kept her eyes on Eagle as he jumped into the air, what was that? Right. Right! Wind! She knew that... right? Vaguely? Somewhere? Was it? She wasn't even sure but it did nicely cut her arm and goddammit that hurt! Where did he go? She had noticed the wind around her, so it was wind? The blessing of her hair up in a bun so it wouldn't smack her in the face. Marbles in one hand, four-five, a bouncing ball in the other. Where did he- oh there! Of course, behind her. She smacked the marbles his way, one archway throw as she kept on running to the one thing that as a cover. This felt like being a cowardly approach but she had no other approach. All she had was one idea when she realized that thing was way too big and it was going to hurt her but hopefully, it made her also able to hit Red. He was probably too fast for her small marbles and bouncing balls.
Up the steps, up! Up! She could maybe move around it, would his power destroy it and go right through it? Then she had no hiding spot anymore? Hm, she had to think about that. She could use that, but she did not like that and if she was too tired, that would also make an end on her own fight. No, don't use that. Right. focus!
She put the bouncing balls back in the little bag on her hip and would just focus on her new strategy. But it would take a few seconds and a lot of pushwork before she would be able to do what she wanted to do. Why was she not as smart as... well there were enough smart people, she had to work on impulse else she would be out of this game before she could say her own name again. Shoot her arm gave her a stinging feeling.

....Huh....Woulda figured she'd have moved sooner....she worried or somethin?.....I can use that. Red thought to himself, Still in the air as he watched his attack connect with Rowans arm. She'd managed to dodge most of it, but it had still cut it up pretty bloody well, in all honesty. If he had to guess from that, hurt like a bitch but hadnt knocked it out yet, so it was still useable....for now, that is. Still, after having a chuck bitten out of her arm, Rowan woke up a bit and started to run. Since Red had already boosted down to try and get behind her, he landed pretty far from her, considering her running, landing a couple feet behind her starting position but.....he could probably close that distance real quick if he wanted.
Still, Rowan had a decent plan. From that little exchange, he gathered that she was either A) Mostly a ranged combatant, since she was running for it, B) Was just running scared or not focused or something, considering how long it'd taken her to react, or C) both of them. He figured that meant he has the close quarters advantage, which would be a very nice change of pace after his last fight.....man, he liked being out in the open right now. Was nice, he had the freedom to move whereever he wanted....which in this case, was in Rowans direction.
She was running for the statue, probably intending to use it as cover from any more ranged attacks....fair plan, but he had other ways of knockin her out. He'd notice her holding a few things in her hand, thought with her running he couldnt tell what it was. So, he decided to get his wheels spinning and chase after her. Maybe if he was lucky, she'd be too caught up in running to actually do anything....a shame that he was dead wrong on that bloody front.
Right as he boosted towards he, he saw her throw something. Looked like marbles or some other kind of small, round objects, but it was nothing he couldnt handle. All he had to do was dodge past them, and he'd be fine. After all, they were just marbles.....right? So, he'd wait til the last possible second to dodge them, firing a few pot shots Rowans way before finally jumping sideways. He had a bad feeling some reason, but he figured it was just his nerves playing up. He should have listed to his bloody gut.
Right as he jumped away, barely missing the marbles.....they blew up. He dodged the initial explosion, but the shrapnel nicked him, sending burning pieces of marble into his side. Nothing he couldnt handle, he'd exploded many a time before thanks to testing pet projects and making sure they worked right, but no......no the physical damage wasnt the worst part. The blast knocked his balance off a little bit, so instead of landing on his skates and contining his assault, he landed on his opposite side, sliding a little....and his head was fucking pounding.
Sharp pain radiated through his head. To the crowd, it probably looked like an effect of the explosion, but that wasnt it. Sure, his head rung a little from the shockwave, but that paled in comparison to what was goin on in his brain. All he could hear was the ringing and static, images flashing quickly before his eyes, barely able to register what they actually were, but Red didnt need to know what they were visually....He already knew he hated them. And deep down, buried deep in the back of his mind....he already knew what they were anyway.
Hey Kid....want me to take over for ya? The voice in the back of his head asked, with a tone that was more sarcastic that before, almost like he was enjoying this. Red's world felt like an eternity had passed when in reality, it had only been about 5 seconds. No, fuck off, Im fine, I can handle this solo. He'd reply, getting his feet back under him, shaking off the pain as best he could and getting back into the fight. All he had to do was distract himself, make sure she didnt explode anything else, and he'd be fine. Absolutely, positively, fucking FINE.
By this point Rowan was already about to round the other side of the statue, being able to use it as cover from any more shots. He tried to get a couple more cheeky ones in but they obviously missed. After all, his arm was still shaking a little bit from the aftermath, sparks starting to form around him. So, at this point, his only real option was to get around the statue again and take this into close quarters....so thats exactly what he'd do.
He had a feeling she'd hug the pillar of the statue like it was a wall to hide behind, so going upwards wouldnt be an option for him. It'd just make it easy for her to throw more marbles at him. Therefore, the easiest, and quickest thing to do right now, was to simple boost around the other side of the statue and punch her. She'd be expecting a chase, and he'd already attacked form above so she may be thinking he'd tried that again. Plus, as much as he wanted too, he couldnt attack her from underground, so the opposite side it was.
After that, all he had to do was catch sight of her, and move in quicker than she could throw her marbles just so he could punch her in the face. His previous fight, he'd wanted to actually fight his opponent and, despite his anger, have a good, honest brawl.....but now? He just wanted to end this as quickly as possible. He had too, his instincts told him that something bad would happen if he didnt.....he had no idea what, but he didnt want to find out.
But in the back of his mind, a certain prick was preparing himself. He'd known this was coming ever since Red'd found out her quirk was explosions. It wouldnt be long now....all it would take was a couple more pushes....and he'd have to take over for the kid. With a smile on his face.

She felt a lump in her throat. She had no time to look over her shoulder but the sound was so strange and she wasn't sure if she had hit Red. The thing was, she should definitely check that considering she might need to jump aside and she shot a look quickly over her shoulder. Okay, he had fallen. Good! Ehm, or well, for now it was good. If she could do this fight against Miku, she could do this fight against someone she knew less. She tried to put down the feeling of guilt any further. She had learned to overcome her fear by Junko and Tetsuko, so she wasn't going to just quit, she was going to fight for it to keep that feeling down. She was just nauseous because of the previous fight and not simply because she sent explosions to someone. The firepower of her quirk would be controlled, she will work hard on it and she would become better, she was already better than last year. This would not be a year that she would forget. She wanted to promise herself. She wanted to promise that this year, this sports festival would not be dripping in regret and guilt and would not be blamed on anyone. This is just how it worked and everyone knew that no one was going to complain about her tactics, no one was going to yell at her as Helen had done. Helen. Arthur. She shouldn't think about it and she took a deep breath while her feet moved quickly up the steps at the base of the statue.
The legend was that you would find your true love on the steps if you just was patient enough to come here and wait. Or it was a stupid story her grandmama had told her once. Of course, Grandmama Rowena would be very glad to see Picadilly circus and there were too many thoughts in Rowan's mind that now distracted her from properly functioning because she needed to focus on what she was doing. Those steps were not that difficult, because they were quite flat it was more dangerous that she would misstep and fall off one or bump into the next one and fall forward. She had to be smarter, why was her mind blank of any ideas and strategies? Why was she so focused on pleasing her grandmama, that the idea that she had only felt worse. Also what a stupid timing to think of true love. Did that even exist and she noticed her cheeks burned bright red, luckily her back was to the public and hopefully the cameras so they wouldn't see her stupid face. She had kissed him right before this match and right before they fixed her and now all she could think about was Sean. She should focus on the fight against Red, to be a worthy opponent. It was highly possible that she would lose, she had barely won from Miku and she wasn't sure how she would do this but at the moment she had to focus. She had managed to climb onto the second level of the statue. She would have to leave herself open by climbing for the second part to the fourth, the part in between was not that high and she could only set her feet on there to lift her over the bigger circle that was in the middle. She climbed and quickly looked over her shoulder. She should be faster, wait, was he coming from the air again? She looked up but did not see anything yet.
Sweat was dripping over her forehead, she felt gross, stuipd and everything more as she continued. Oh, she was sure she heard him and she quickly pulled herself over the edge of the statue and looked at Red. But it seemed he had not calculated for her to climb up on the statue, she quickly managed to crawl her way to the opposite side again and stand up to take the last few steps. This was going to take a bit but leaned back as far as she could to push against the statue, one more time, she pushed again and finally the fragile ankle of Eros snapped and tumbled the statue forward from Rowan's point of view, to the side where she had last seen Red and she did not wait long to snap her fingers and make the statue explode. She was lucky that the statue minus the little sockle that it stood on was within the limits of her quirk but she had to hide herself away from the explosion else she would be hit. She quickly dropped to the big rim that was part of the statue when the explosion came rolling over and she hid her face on the bronze (or immitated bronze) surface and made herself as small as possible.
When the explosion was over and done with, she had to think of a new strategy, there was nothing here that she could use as ammunition and if Red would jump into the air again she would have no way to go. But she had forgotten one thing when climbing up... climbing down past the big fat rim of this thing was going to be a hell of a job. Why was going up always easier than going down? She wondered if she could simply jump and looked over the edge to see what the damage had done to her opponent and if she had hit him at all or had wasted a big amunition thing at all. At least the broadcaster had said it looked spectacular, so that was something. She blew a piece of hair away from her face and quickly turned back to what she thought was the opposite side of Red, time to jump down.
Now.
She wasn't going. It looked very scary to jump down. It was too high and it wasn't a flat surface that she would jump upon, it were the stairs. But Jump! Go! Now! Rowan was frozen.

Red wasnt doing so great right now. Sure, physically, he was pretty much golden.....Well, besides the various pieces of small, burning marble shrapnel in his side, but that wasnnt gonna knock him outta this fight just yet. It hurt, sure, but he was used to worse, with his lifestyle.
Hell, he probably had a low level immunity to that kinda stuff, considering how many time she exploded usually, but that wasnt the problem here. All that'd take was a quick stitch once they got it all out, and considering how shallow the wounds were, he'd probably be in and out of the infirmiry again. The problem here, was that his brain wouldnt shut the fuck up and just let him fight.
He'd figured that just flat out ignoring what was going on in there and focusing on literally anything else to distract himself would work...and it did, mostly, but he couldnt get rid of everything. The dull ringing in his ears from the explosion was still there, but the physical effects had passed. Now, all he had to deal with was the god awful headache she'd caused and.....whatever his mind was trying to show him. It was real weird.
Well....you sure look like you're having fun. The voice sarcastically joked, getting a little bit more personality in it than usual, as Red rounded the corner of the statue, fist ready to be very gently apply to Rowans face so he could knock her the fuck out and get this over with. Red promptly ignored it, the look on his face was anything but happy, almost panicked with how fast he was moving.....which made the fact that Rowan was currently nowhere to be seen all the more worrying to him.
Frantically, he'd start looking around, trying to find the ticking time bomb for his psyche, but she was nowhere to be found. She wasnt on the other side, he'd moved too fast for her to have been able to swap with him, and he hadnt heard anything. He looked up, but she wasnt on the lower ring of the statue, ready to drop more bombs on him, and she wasnt anywhere else so....where the fuck was she?
He needed to calm down, but he couldnt. He was in no position to be doing that now, it'd just give Rowen the chance to throw more bombs at him when he was distracted. God he wanted to be out of this arena right now, back in the hotel room with Yumi so he could just....relax. She'd be able to keep whatever the hell was bothering him outta his mind, her general energy and giddiness of the past few days were bloody infections.
On instinct, he started to reach for his chest, towards the keychain she'd given him for christmas. Maybe if he just...heard her voice right now, maybe that'd help him get through this. It'd helped him before, just before the match, so hopefully it still worked now.....unfortunatly for him, Rowen had other ideas. All he got was a sarcastic warning: Hey, Dumb arse, look up.
Suddenly, alarm bells went off in his head. His instincts told him that he needed to fucking book it, and looking up, he'd find the reason why: There was a statue coming towards his head. He'd jump backwards, towards the stairs, but it was already too late. As soon as his wheels were off the ground, the bloody thing exploded, sending him flying down the stairs and away from Rowen.....and making Reds life even worse than it already was.
He'd managed to shield his face from the blast, but that didnt stop the shrapnel from embedding itself in his arms and legs. Luckily, the leg wounds werent too bad, only a few scratches, but the pieces of marble were deep in his arms. He could still use em, but they were gonna hurt like a bitch for a while. Atleast the fact they were also on fire kinda cauterized them a little bit. He'd hope that he wouldnt have to stay in the infirmiry too long after this but....he currently had more pressing concerns.
His head was on fire. The usual sharp jolts of pain had instead been replaced with what felt like the worst migrane the world had ever seen. He was still on the ground, having bounced and slid across the floor on his arse til he ended up lying face first on the floor, and it looked like he wouldnt be getting up soon. He could get to his knees, but thats where he stood, holding his head and trying his best not to fall back over. Once again, it probably looked like it was the effect of the explosion but....He was going through hell right about now.
His whole world was going up in flames. One moment he was looking at the stones of the arena, and the next he was looking at a lab floor. The whole place was an inferno, having recently exploded thanks to a certain someone, and that had just caused more explosions. Looking around, He couldnt see anyone.
The crowd was gone. Rowen was gone. Yumi was gone. Kaz was gone. His sister was gone......All he could see were two figures he should probably recognise.....trapped under rubble, holding out an arm for help while they were..... burning up....or maybe if they were lucky they'd already de---
"Alright Kid......You had your chance.....but now its my turn. You dont need to see that so.....just take a nice little nap, alright?" Was the last thing he heard before he felt something hit him in the back of the head. He tried to stay concious, but he could feel it slipping away from him, his vision rapidly darkening. The last thing he saw were the figures fully engulfed by the fire, and uttering two words: "D-Dad?....Mum......" .........and with that, he was gone.....and the guy who'd kicked him in the back of the head was smiling.....Now it was his show to run.
Slowly, Red'd start to get up. Strangly, any indication that he was being effected by the explosion would just....vanish. He'd just shake his head, breathe, and suddenly he was shooting back up like nothing had happened. He'd quickly scan the arena, and find his prey, catching a glimpse of her.....with his red eyes. Rowen was standing on the statue, seemingly having a hard time getting down, if the fact she kept trying and not moving was any indication.....so he had to go give her a hand, right? It was in character for him.
In an instant, he'd go from just standing around looking at her to boosting towards her position, using his quirk to the ring of statue, landing on it pretty easily, behind Rowen. To the casual observer, it'd look like Red had just....recovered from whatever damaged he'd taken. Slowly, he'd walk behind Rowen....and then make his move.
"Hey Rowen, need a hand getting down? Lemme help you." He'd ask, in the most sarcastic, fake tone of concern he could muster. At the same time, he'd move forward, and attempt to just straight up kick her head off. he was very bloody nonchalant about putting wheel to face here, for some reason. He even had a sarcastic smile on his face...and a predatory look in his blood red eyes.

Jump!
Well, bloody hell go on! Jump! It was a good moment to jump down while he was distracted and hurt and everything and, come on, jump! Think of something nice while you fall, like jumping into eh... well not a pool that did not work well either. Ehm, ehm, a ball pit! Yea, yea like in the hotel where she had fun with jumping in a ball pit with Yumi, Feng and Miku. Now come on, maybe make a nice roll while trying to land on the freaking stairs! Whose stupid idea was this again? Climbing up? But she needed bigger ammunition and he was so fast and everything, it seemed like a surprise attack would have worked the best. Now come on! One... two... She quickly turned around as she heard him standing on the rim like her and she wobbled a bit. Hehe, no one was coming to help you while you were in a fight right? No offence, she was sure Red was a nice guy but still, she wouldn't even do that. They were training and fighting in such a form, he would either push her down or do something else. He didn't extend a hand to help her down and his eyes looked a lot more different from before.
Lady.
God, no that woman would not be found in anyone their body again, that was bullshit, she was not going to move into someone else, heck was that even possible. Red had probably shrugged off the nice guy attitude and would now go all out. She noticed his stance, she noticed he would kick her but she couldn't kick back or do something else than just stand there, if she would grab one of her items, marble or bouncing ball, she would not even do anything on time either. She simply had one thing she could do; block? Block him from hitting her head was one thing for sure, she didn't need a bloody headache, in the literal sense of the words. She simply threw up the right arm, moving it towards her shoulder, and taking the harsh kick against her arm instead of her head. Of course, that still give an impact to her head and she felt that she lost footing. Trying to hold her balance, she extended her other hand, trying to grab him with her, but she didn't really see what to hold on to as she had her eyes closed, all she did was touch, was it something? If it was fabric it did not work but if she managed to touch anything metal on his outfit, she might be able, her hand was already hot, she activated her quirk, it would hopefully explode on him. That would give her enough time.
One other question going on in her head was how to catch yourself from falling down backwards? She had not jumped, but she was falling, it wasn't very far but she quickly had to move, moving her other hand behind her head now, moving her chin onto her chest and sort of praying a mutter. Please, don't hurt too much. She might break something. It wasn't that far up, right? It would be fine, but what about the- she let out a loud groan as she hit the stairs with her back. Her head bobbing back but protected by her hands, seemed to be doing fine. The blackspots from the impact of his kick on her ear had been gone. But she felt horrible. She felt like butchered and bruised all over the place. She hoped the explosion worked but as her ears were ringing from the fall and the damage to her back, she had no idea. She had to just get out of here. His kicks were scary, she could definitely use more training than that. She felt herself shaking, it reminded her of Lady and she felt the fear washing over her. That little bitch could not be here, and if she was here... no, she couldn't be in England... although, Nick was from- oh just shut up and focus. Those two did not deserve any room in her mind. She did not have to be afraid of her, she was stronger, but if she was like a parasite that took over someone like Red... Oh, bullshit! Shaking she had turned to her stomach and managed to push herself up with hands and feet and wobbled to the end of the stairs. Okay, better take it head-on then, the fountain had learned her enough pain and she wondered. But in the open she could not avoid him, after all, it was clear Red was much, much faster than her and that would only block any other solution. She surely hoped she won time but her hands were already turning a tinge hotter than normal. What should she do?
She wobbled towards the end of the arena, okay that wasn't so far from the fountain but she had to get her head empty. She stood more to the left of the fountain, towards the crossroad. In front of her was the blocked road towards her favourite bookstore, on her right she would go to Soho, on her left she would go to the south, Trafalgar Square and the like, though she would still walk quite a while if she was there. She took a deep breath and turned her face back to the fountain. There were two things, two very small things to jump behind if she would be smart enough or more like fast enough. But for now, she would have to face him head-on, before she would go to that plan. Maybe with a fist-fight she would be able to simply block him, albeit her head was still throbbing. She took a bouncing ball in both hands. She definitely needed to talk to either Yojin or Charlie about updating her hero-outfit. She would have to see, right now all those distractions weren't helpful and she tried to ignore it.
Of course, that's when it works the wrong way and she for a second thought about Sean. He had seen her fall too, right?
Bleh.

Hunter could only internally laugh at how Rowan was doing right now. The jump wasnt even that big, Hima nd Red had taken much worse falls and walked it off like it was nothing. It was kind of hilarious really, he shouldnt have had to help the kid out with this one, considering this but.....he guessed that this girl was just really unlucky. If she'd had any other quirk, she'd have probably been able to get a little bit of mercy from him but....well.....He wasnt Red. He was gonna end this problem as quickly as possible, whatever it took....after all, that was his job after all. To look after him when things got rough.
Still, he didnt think he'd have to work that hard. After all, as soon as she turned around she looked fucking terrified of him. An understandable reaction, really, considering what he was like but.....he figured it wasnt just him she was scared of. Sure, seeing the guy you were fighting having a new eye colour would probably be jarring but it wasnt this scary.....maybe that was just his way of thinking, it was probbaly just her being scared of the jump......So lets help her with that problem, shall we?
Hmmmm.....Average reaction, but just a little too slow.....Yeah, I can beat her close quarters, this should be easy. Hunter'd think to himself, watching Rowan block the kick to her cranium. It'd helped mitigate a lot of the impact, but that didnt really matter. After all, she was about to fall back onto a bunch of steps, back of the head first. That wasnt going to end well for her, no matter what he did.
Still, she still had tha foresight to try and stop herself instead of just taking the impact. She shot a hand out to try and grab onto him, but it was futile. She was too far away to get a good grip on anything, and she had her bloody eyes closed so she couldnt even tell what to touch. She got a couple fingers on the outer shell of the kids cuffs, and one of those hilt things the kid made had swung up to hit her the bottom of her hand ever so slightly, but that was it. He would have watched her fall backwards against the stairs, smile on his face......Unfortunatly, He remembered what Rowans quirk was.
As soon as her foot was off the platform, the cuff exploded. Pieces of the outer shell flew in all directions, small pieces of shrapnel embedding themselves in his chest. Hunter was lucky that they werent deep, but that was the least of his problems. This shit burnt like hell, and he was already having to deal with the burning from Red being a dumbarse earlier. The left cuff was busted, sharpnel preventing it from spinning all that fast. It'd be a quick fix later, but for now? It was dead weight.
Hunter was still on the platform, but he was on the opposite edge now, having braced himself for the explosion at the last second. He'd have to take a second to asses everything but......right now? Damage is still negligible. Legs are fine, just a few scratches, but the kids arms arent lookin too good. Right's Got most of the bloody statue in it, so it's worse off, and his left isnt too far behind. The cuff had somewhat helped to mitigate the explosion, ironically, but another explosion and it's probably be dead weight, too.....it was a good thing we are both ambidextrous...even if we favour our left. Hunter would think to himself, patting himself down just a little bit.
Either way, once he was gonna taking stock of how fucked up the kid would be after this was all over, he'd saunter over to the side He'd kicked Rowan off of, just to see if she was still there. It wasnt that hard to find her, after all, she was hobbling like she'd just been shot which....to be fair, she had probably knocked her head so it was pretty understandable, but that just meant that Hunter could exploit that fact. She was a pretty easy target right now, so he just took aim for the still intact barrel, and fired at her.......Well, he tried to fire, atleast.
Taking a look at the right cuff, he'd figure out what the problem was pretty quickly. Piece of shrapnel was jammed in it, was blocking the thing and causing whatever wind bullets he tried to create to impact it and dissipate through the holes. The cuff itself could still generate fine, but that meant he was down a ranged option......Fortunatly though, the kid had another one, just in case.
Hunter'd bring his left arm down to find the hilt that Rowan had tried to grab, and look at it for a second. He'd never presonally used one before, since he usually just used the cuffs to make a blade, but....he had to hand it to the kid, he was very good at making implements of murder. After all, this just made making a knife even easier.....and he could make them as long as he wanted. Sure, Red had done this so he could blunt them, but......this also meant that Hunter could make them sharper, too.
So, generating a pretty long, straight blade, Hunter would waste no time in trying to use it. He'd point it directly at Rowans back, as she was still hobbling, and fire it directly at her. It was a test fire, mostly to figure out how the thing worked, but it served a purpose. As much as he wanted to just charge in and stab her, he had to soften her up first....after all, she still had ammunition, and probably didnt want him to get close. Still.....he didnt mind if she didnt make it too easy for him.....huh, that was new.
Heh.....not bad kid......You make helping you these days VERY Easy....depsite the fact you always ignore my advice, you prick. Hunter'd joke to himself, generating another blade and heading straight for Rowan. Huh, Jokes......Hunter wondered how much bullshit Red had been pumping into him these past weeks. He;d been havin to work overtime to try and make sure the Kid's brain didnt implode frome everything that had happened but....he didnt think that parts of Red would bleed back into him......or vice versa.
While he was comtemplating that, he failed to notice something about the hilt raised above his head. Sure, Rowan had only touched it briefly, and it hadnt exploded like his cuff when she activated it but......that didnt mean it was in the clear just yet. Hunter was about to get one hell of a surprise.

It wasn't Lady. It could not be Lady. Anything, any other thought would have been better while she tried to make her way across from the fountain. Seriously her head was feeling so heavy and knocking at her skull was not the best way. She thought she had not hit the stairs when she fell but the kick from Reddarcc and the hit of the stairs had surely done something and missing in her dark hair was definitely blood. It had not dripped down her neck and thus obvious skin yet, so she wasn't aware of anything, she was too focused on getting away. On letting it go. Four reasons why Lady could not be here;
1. She got pretty messed up hurt from the big explosion only weeks prior. 2. How would she suddenly have a passport and be able to fly to England while she didn't exist? 3. She had her own body, so she wouldn't suddenly take Red's. 4. People had quirks why would his changing eye colour be her nightmare?!
Right, yes that made-. She fell, something edged on her right shoulder and she felt the pain and gritted her teeth and tried to get up quickly before looking over her shoulder, the heck was that? Alright, so there was this wind thingy that hurt her and cut her hero suit again. This wasn't a great day to be a suit. But now it was time to really stop staggering and just start running. Albeit a little unbalanced but she managed to get to her last stop, her first destination, as her brain albeit hurting, tried to come up with a plan.
While standing there, she turned around to see if Red was coming towards her, obviously, he would and obviously he would be here fast enough. She could just go and take the hits and hope it would be over, man her head felt heavy. This was not going to work out well anyway. So she should do something about it, but how and when and especially again how? It was also rather fascinating that instead of wondering what her mother thought of it or her grandmother, she only wondered what Sean thought of her fall and what she should do to at least look a little heroic.
No, no, wait, she was fine. She had not signed up for the tournament last year and she got to the second round, that was rather impressive especially considering how weird last school year has been, this school year. Okay, focus, do something. OR well at least make a plan. She felt the shivers going down her spine because he came at her and the eyes were so... freaking her out because the word lady kept going through her brain. Wasn't it enough to do something and think about all the reasons why she could not be here? The third reason was her best, should she also point out that they had not had red eyes and now Red did! So it was something else, his quirk for sure, yea just unleashed all power, mhm. Convincing herself did go rather slow and she hunched down. She was again frozen, this was ridiculous, she could fight Miku, shouldn't she be able to do something now? Shouldn't she be so professional? How many times were her previous fears going to bite her in the ass?!
Her hands were warm, working on the heating of too much ammunition, of using big items, many items and so on. She grabbed wrong to get a bouncing ball but she had a marble in her left hand, the activation of her quirk did not only activate that marble though. But she just stood there, no she had thought of the two parts to jump behind, even though they sucked as hiding places they might mitigate some of the damage those wind attacks could do. Wait... why did she grab wrong with her right? Was it that blade thing that had cut her? IT might be, she didn't want to think about it. Seriously if she had a white flag she might use it now, it was already clear he was far better in using his powers then she was? So it only made the more sense that he would win. She swallowed, trying to get away with the explosions going on, well she thought the marble was just doing a big hiccup. Finally scrambling up she ran to the underground, it was obvious that it was not anything, the stairs were just not there but the railing around it was, albeit with just small bars that would definitely not block all the wind attacks he might make. Right, her plan had been to fight him with her boxing... ha- that wouldn't work either. But it might be something to think about or work upon?
She would stand up again, she could jump behind this depending on the aim. But her right shoulder hurt a lot and so on, she already got a cut on her right arm, right would definitely be a weakpoint. She should stop dodging if she wanted this to end too? She already knew how this was going, better take it like a champion. But it made sense that she feared the pain, she was like a little princess in that way and she did not want to get more hurt, more cuts and bruises, she did not want to have that on her face, even if the school nurse here might be able to fix it. She was so scared, maybe this was the first time in her life that she blessed the fact that she could not cry, consequences of her hot quirk, but she could not cry now on television, for everyone to watch but she definitely felt like crying and she had this pout and trembling lower lip, it was obvious for many people that she was done. She would just have to see how to give up without losing face.

Huh.....Seriously, the jokes are kinda weird. Why does he find doing that....helps in any way? Does he just do it to....mask something?.....So why do I do it? Ive got nothin to hide, right? So just.....why am I like this now? Is this cause of....her? Hunter would think to himself, only half paying attention at this point. He was starting to realise just how much different he was acting than usual. Before, he probably would have just kicked Rowan off without the sarcasm, or joking to himself about the hilts, or even just....smiling.
Even his tone had emotion in it for once. He was just supposed to be a emotionless problem solver for Red so.....Why was he acting like a person? He wasnt one....right? He was just a tool or something for Red to use so that he didnt have to deal with all his emotion trauma or something, but this wasnt exactly in the job description, really.
....Why am I even thinking about this? I have a fight to win, we can deal with it while Red is busy having good times with his girlfriend....Shoulda picked Feng but....wait, what the fuck am I thinking about now? Just....Bury it, fuck it, that'll work. Hunter would shake his head briefly, to get all of the weird thoughts that he wasnt used to having out of his head. Seriously, was he even starting to think like the kid? God, he hoped he didnt....god he had bloody hopes now? What the fuck was going on?
All of this internal strife wouldnt be known to Rowan, all she'd be able to tell was that he looked a little confused or lost, behind his rather aggressive advance on her position. Sure, she had taken another sharp blast to the shoulder, but she wasnt down for the count yet. She was still ready to fight, which meant that Hunter would have to actually snap out of whatever mental problems he was having right now and beat her up. There was just one problem. Rowan acted first.
Hunter was still barely paying attention, so he wasnt actually aiming for Rowan, he was aiming for where she had been. Unfortunatly for him, she was no longer there, having fallen onto the ground. Sure, his sword was still gonna hit her, but it would be a much shallower cut that he was hoping for......that was, if he had hit her. Which he edned up not doing.
Right as his blade was about halfway down towards her, she threw another marble at him. Hunter,s till not paying that much attention, barely registered it, so he did nothing to avoid it going off in his face. That wasnt the only problem though. At the same time she threw it, the hilt he was using, that Rowan had briefly touched while trying to not fall off the statue, exploded in his hand, the combined force of that and the marble throwing him backwards, creating distance between the two as he skidded on his knees.
He'd come to a stop a few feet away, a distance that'd be easy for him to close, but still giving Rowan a few seconds to move wherever she wanted. Slowly, Hunter'd start to rise up, the damage all over him being clear to see. His right arm still had chunks of statue in it, even if most of it had fallen out of him at this point. His left arm was completely fucked, looking like a bloodied mess thanks to the explosion. It was still intact, of course, but by god did it look fucked.
He had blood flowing from his face, thanks to the force of the explosion and shrapnel causing a few slashes across it. His chest seemed mostly fine, bar the burning shrapnel in it, thanks to his shirt and coat masking it just a bit. His legs were almost completely unscathed, bar a couple light cuts, so he could still fight, but he didnt exactly look good right now. What was most curious though...was the expression plastered on his face. It didnt look like the usual cold, emotionless exterior, but it didnt look pained either. It was filled with one simple expression, obvious to everyone: Pure, unadulterated, Fury.
.....I let her do that. I got distracted by the same shit the dumbarse gets distracted by, and now Im payin the price. Goddammit.....GOD FUCKING DAMMIT. His brain would scream out, the cold fury on his face deepening, showing more and more. Unconciously, Hunter would start using their quirk, compressing the air around him into strange looking sparks, looking more like he'd somehow inherited some of Yumis charge from sheer proximity or something, the crackling in the air sounding like birds chirping for a second.
"....Heh.....Fine, You want me to end this? Then I'll end this." Hunter would tell Rowan, looking directly at her, rage in his eyes as he burned out with Reds skates. His weird, new feelings that he didnt understand didnt matter anymore. The fact he was actually expressing it for once didnt matter either. This feeling was very familar to him. After all, most of what Red buried into him throughout the years had been similar to this, albiet usually for a good bloody reason. Rowan was a problem. It was Hunters job to fix it. Thats what he was for, after all.
His left arm was pretty much unusable at this point.....but he could probably get one more decent punch out of his right. Thats all he would need, even if it ended up becoming unusable too. As long as he still had a working limb, he'd be fine. There was the problem of Rowan standing behind a railing, but that wouldnt be one in a few seconds.
Almost as fast as Yumi, Red would stop burning out, and dash to Rowans right, getting a clear firing line to Rowan while still sparking, before doing something very similar to her zig zag pattern, turning 45 degrees and dashing straight towards Rowan, aiming to apply his fist to her stomach. His wind seemed a lot denser than it usually was, sparks flying off of it as he aimed to knock Rowan out as quickly as possible. If she was somehow still standing after that, then he'd just do it again, and again and again and again, until she was down on the ground.

She had to do this, she had to find a way, if she could exhaust him... if she could hurt him more? But that's not what she wanted? Why was her power forcing people to endure so much more pain then just cuts and bruises, why was she creating and making matters worse? Why was she born with fire powers? Why could she not have healing powers or something with technology? How much longer would it take for her to either find a solution or would she push away Miku and Sean and Chimera, Tetsuko... No. No! Tetsuko had told her that fear was fine and that she had nothing to fear, she was in control and she would stay in control but then whyyyyy did Reddarcc not jump away from her explosions, why did he take everything to his face and body? She swore that she had used a great strategy with blowing up Eros, the statue of the Piccadilly statue but seriously the rest? He just kept on going, which was a wonderful thing for him, don't get her wrong, but she did not want this. She wanted it to stop, so happy again when she realized that she felt like crying but she couldn't. No proper tear ducts, no proper way to cry at all, she could but it costs so much effort, pressure and pain, a very long scientific discussion as her mother had been panicking about it in the past, her strange child, her everything, her monster.
There was no time to think about that, she had no idea exactly what happened only that her explosion was bigger, she later realized that she had exploded something with her timer, a snap she had felt but had not realized at that point. That was because the marble had sent him further backwards and that was a nice enough time to run. Not that Rowan could run fast and thus not far, she could just try and find another silly hiding place. She wouldn't make it to the statue, she wouldn't get far or something, the strategies in her mind definitely were stopping and she could use some education on that. Any advice from Igarashi-sensei was far to find as he was in Japan and she was in England, besides he couldn't advise her in the middle of the battle. With her big golden eyes, she stared at Red, okay, no panic. She did notice her breath was going to quick but tried to push that on the subject of; you just used your quirk a lot and you ran, of bloody course, you are out of breath and not hyping it up on a silly panic attack that was totally not coming on. Right, now... what was going on now, because she had to focus on the here and now and not think herself silly on scenarios that did not exist. What was going to happen? What were they going to do about it hm? What would they all do about it?
But he talked to her, Red had not talked to her for quite a while and the shivers went down her spine. Of course, he would end it, he was obviously very far advanced with his powers, no matter who would be calculated as the strongest, his tactics, control and everything was better, so why the hell would she win? Because, as a tiny little voice said in her mind; she wanted to. She wanted to prove herself that she could win, that she did not just beat Miku out of being the more fantastic looking quirk, though compared to making a tree hers looked nothing like interesting at all, but besides the point! They had a close tie and now she was obviously losing it. She swallowed and before her eyes could betray her, before her feet could run, before the sweat could be wiped from her brow, he was already there.
She could only stand up, trying to make a quick step backwards but he was quicker, previously Red had made attempts to hit her in the face, so she immediately crossed her arms in front of the other to protect her face again. She had not watched, she had not examined what he was doing as he hit her gut... Again her stomach rolled, seriously it was lucky that she only had a cup of tea between the fights else she would have vomited again... blergh she would look so ugly. Rowan remained slightly standing, she was already swaying on her legs, she had already a knocking sense on the back of her head from the previous fall and hit on her ear because obviously she had knocked her own arm against her when he first hit her. The second hit that Red gave her was like an explosion, ha that's how it felt. It made her knees buckle, sway only more as her body did not seem to grab anymore what was going on. It was like the control room tried to do too many things at once, seriously she couldn't do anything right could she? She felt how she moved backwards, falling, but the lights also went out when her head again hit the floor and she was just out for a good few seconds.
This was enough to make Reddarcc win of course, it was enough to make her not realize what happened, her head throbbing, her body screaming in pain but well at least she had made the fountain explode in a sense. She did not wake up for a good solid five minutes, but when she did, she really wished she had still been knocked out, because the pain in her head was horrible, she felt like she couldn't carry on with that, but she would have to. She did not like how this worked, not because she lost (well of course ever so slightly) but because this must have looked hundred per cent embarrassing on the television. What would her father say?
