Yasashi knelt once, testing his knees and stretching his arms. He rolled his neck and got to his feet stretching one arm over his head and taking a deep breath. This was it; this was his only chance at redemption. The doctors had told him that it wasn't his fault. The injury he'd sustained at the hands of Sunaho months ago hadn't been properly treated. He'd never tried to go full power that fast before; he'd always built up to it and a lingering part of the injury finally showed itself. The treatment was simple-they had some of the best healing quirk specialists on staff at the Tournament just in case. But he still had to throw the match with Yuuto. Yasashi took another breath and looked in the mirror. Blue flames formed on his upper lip, making a sort of mustache while his eyebrows caught up with the same flames. He looked down at the belt tightly pressed against the skin tight jumpsuit he wore to help him form his armor properly; hanging from it was the skull mask left behind at the scene where he'd fought Sunaho.
He glanced over his shoulder when a voice called out to him. It was time.
"I'm not holding back this time..." He swore to himself, "No injuries to stop me now."
He'd give it his all. Win or lose. That's all that mattered to him.
A voice rang out over the speakers that lined the hall leading up to the doors to the colleseum. "HEY HEY HEY! CHECK IT OUT WE'VE GOT OUR NEXT MATCH UP!" The commentator began to rile up the crowd; "We didn't get to see much of him except his grand entrance in the first round matches-an untreated injury preventing him from participating. He has since been CLEARED FOR COMBAT! So lets give it another shot!" The commentator cleared his throat; "One of the first of his kind, a Second Generation hero-in-training," Yasashi reached for the skull mask, gripping it in one hand before marching through the doors.
"GIVE IT UP FOR TARTARUS!" Yasashi stepped out into the crowded stadium for the second time now, the howl of cheers...despite it being a runner up match...made him feel a little better. The roar blanketed him and he swept himself up in the performance. He was coming to realize that part of being a hero was being visible to the people he needed to put on a sort of show for them, to put their minds at ease. He swiped right with the mask before drawing it over his face in a single motion, blue flames bursting from the eye sockets. Off-grey armor beginning to form on his shoulders, arms, chin, legs, he kept marching toward the battlefield, the armor taking on its full shape by the time he stopped. His face almost like a skull, his eyes burning, a full plate of armor covering his massive body. He tensed his arms and then let out a terrible roar, the odd sound echoing through the arena. The crowd responded and he felt vindicated.
"HE'S GOT HIS ENTERANCE DOWN FOLKS! AND NOW, ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE ARENA..." | TAG WORDS NOTES

Katsumi considered her task in the tournament done with. She’d displayed her capabilities and abilities to a watching crowd and she’d assumed that there were at least a few people with the right resources and connections in the world of heroics that were interested in her. That was the entire point of the sports festival after all, victory and fun came second and third, depending on what your preference was. The real winners were the ones who were able to display their prowess and show off. The comebracker, a name that she cringed at for being silly, was a surprise to her. Being given another opportunity to compete was nice and all but she wondered if it was necessary. She’d already showed off, she doubted she could pull off another line of tricks and planning. That meant she was going to have to use more of her more potent moves.
:She stood in the darkness of the entrance to the arena grounds waiting for her queue. “Showing creative thinking in using her Quirk during the first round and forfeiting after a long fight.” She smoothed her attire, a jacket over herself and skirt, as she heard herself being described. “IT’S THE ONE, THE ONLY, CHAAAAAAAASE!” Hearing her hero codename called, she jogged out of the entrance and up the steps of the arena, She stepped after a few steps, staying on her side of the arena and eyeing her opponent. He looked intimidating, that was for sure, but she wasn;t scared. He was another hero in training after all. No matter how intimidating he was they went to the same school that held up the same core values of heroism. This was just another contest.
She slipped into an informal stance, signifying her readiness to being the match. “Let’s make this showy.”

Yasashi eyed his opponent; sliding his legs apart to a ready stance and holding his left hand out while his right hand dipped to his side a little to protect his center. He had the look of a grappler about him. His blue blazing eyes flared to life as he bent his knees; drawing up strength. IIda Katsumi. He'd known her from afar, knew only a little about her quirk and even then that was almost an overstatement. He'd been so cautious about hiding his quirk as an early first year and then performing an almost complete 180 on his views of his quirk after the wake up call he got half way through the year. He wasn't sure how much she knew, but he'd been prepping enough extra to at least throw in some surprises. Grinning beneath his helmet be tensed his legs a bit more.
"Let's make this showy," she said.
"Sounds like a plan!" He barked, drawing in a deep breath and kicking off the ground with all his might. The movement was two fold. It shot him at his target; a burst of speed carrying him across the small battlefield quickly. But more importantly the sudden movement disguised his use of his quirk. He required having some manner of contact with a surface in order to create bones; but as long as he was touching the ground he could create his constructs anywhere around him within eighteen meters, such as at her feet. This was so that, while he hurtled in her direction; she had to deal with the four skeletal arms that lunged from the ground to grab her and hold her in place.
He raised his voice to shout at her as he charged; "Show me everything, Chase! Don't hold back!"

Katsumi tensed as the fight began with her opponent charging at her. ‘Why do I always get the close ranged fighters?’ She thought annoyed as she clenched her fists and moved. ‘Note to self, see if I can get a weapon, something heavy.’ She managed to get a few steps in distancing herself away before arms of bone rose up from the ground and grabbed her, stopping her from moving any further. “Trapped!” She exclaimed, trying to shake off the grasp of bones that held her still. Her attention turned from her plight to the still approaching opponent. “This early…” She took a deep breath in and out. “Very well, I shall show more of my attacks.” The arms were uncomfortable but that didn’t stop her from launching her own counterattack.
Without gesturing, she began sending off the wall shaped blasts into the ground around her. Her Quirk sweeping up loose bits and fragments of the arena, suddenly shooting off towards her opponent at their top speed not unlike a hailstorm. While that was going on she continued to try kicking free of the arms, tempted to turn her Quirk towards the offending artificial appendages. In fact she decided to to just that, placing her hand just above the bones a rapidly firing tiny blasts to shift the air and wear down the arms for as much as she could.

She was quick to step back but not quick enough to avoid being grabbed by the arms. Fragments leapt off the ground as if by their own accord and hurled themselves at Yasashi as he tried to close the gap. The first few fragments struck his armor; clacking and shattering here and there. One especially hard piece dug into the material but stopped only after a few millimeters before falling away as well. He shuddered; the armor held. He'd never taken a blow like that with the arm working at one hundred percent. To be honest; this was his first combat situation with his quirk actually working it was surreal how effective it was. Unfortunately, that distracting thought was enough to redirect his attention. He felt more than saw the arms tear from the ground as her winds whipped up beneath where they'd grown and tore them from the arena floor.
Yasashi grunted, surprised, it wasn't as much the speed and strength of her quirk as it was where she had aimed it. She was making up for what disadvantages she had with her brains. He smiled a bit too eagerly, the moment sweeping him up and carrying him as he kicked off the ground again, this time forcibly forming a slab of bone beneath his feet to launch him at his target; his shoulder angled so that his entire armored body was aimed at her chest. If she didn't move, his massive armored frame would crash right into her. It wasn't a pretty thought. | TAG WORDS NOTES

Katsumi was surprised that she had managed to rip away at her restraints. She didn’t have much time to make use of her new found freedom from the bone arms as her opponent was coming at her fast. She had to come up with something, and fast or she wouldn’t be able to achieve her primary goal of creating a flashy fight to showcase her and Tartarus’ abilities. She braced herself, keeping her feet flat against the ground, as she prepared to fully take the charge with her own attack. She didn’t know if this was going to work out but it was better to do this than just taking the hit and letting him get away with it.
She waited until he got close enough before she committed herself to making her attack. Without ceremony she caused the air in the area above her to come crashing down around her. The air slam had enough force in it to smash concrete on impact. But that wasn’t all she had planned, because as soon as that attack ended, she followed it up with a sudden arm thrust, enhanced by her Quirk, and finally sending more fragments and bits of arena flying at him

The sudden and tremendous force of her quirk forcing the air down on him was like gravity itself had intensified for an instant. The armor on his shoulders shuddered and his body tensed as his angle of approach was shifted enough to save her from a direct hit. He hit the ground; rolling to the side and kicking again to push himself faster and to her left. He needed to stay close but-more fragments clattered against his body, some of them digging into his armor. He grit his teeth, sliding across the ground and trying to keep his momentum up. He had to figure out something, and fast. The brief change in angle and impact had rattled his body a little but the flames beneath his armor were already beginning to ease the pain.
"You're not bad!" Yasashi laughed, the thrill getting to him again. He kicked off the ground one last time, this time without any hesitation he drew in a breath and let out a low, groaning bellow that carried across the field. It sounded like a droning sound, something long dead moaning in agony, the sound would cause a sensation of vertigo as strength began to slowly trickle away from the one who was experiencing it. It wasn't a pleasant feeling. He kept the sound up as he hurled himself at her again at top speed; something white forming in his right hand. | TAG WORDS NOTES

‘Here he comes.’ Katsumi thought. She sucked in a breath and tried to keep herself as calm as possible. She stood her ground, banishing away her worries and focusing on her next move. She needed to meet him head on in order to be able to do anything, she doubted her ability to pelt him with ranged attacks and its effectiveness in the short term. Her mind was set as she shifted her feet to keep herself steady and turned so that her front was facing her opponent. She could feel her strength waning away but she ignored it, she was never one to use her body for violence anyways.
She pulled her fist back, far enough that it was almost behind her. and put all her focus on gently using her Quirk on her clothes, making sure that they were all always accelerating downwards. The move made it harder for her to be mobile but also anchored her to the ground, acting as artificial weights to keep her from flying off. “Immovable Object.” She would let him come closer and unleash a devastating counter in retaliation to his attack. Her fist visibly shook as she wound up her attack and got ready to release it.

He couldn't adjust his direction more than a little bit, he was committed to the attack. Her retaliatory blow would come in hard, one way or another, but that didn't matter. She'd planted herself in order to take his attack and force her own blow into him. He threw his body into the maneuver, the thing in his hand completing the process of taking shape as he hurtled toward her. A morning star of bone took shape; a massive club with a spherical head appeared in his hand just in time for him to roll with his step, doing everything he could to avoid the initial strike. He had no way of knowing that her body was anchored more than just a simple fighting-stance plant.
Regardless, he threw his body into the strike, rotating over three hundred sixty degrees to bring a back-handed swipe with his mace toward her back as he spun and stepped past her, sliding to a stop at the end of his maneuver. One way or another, whether he took the blow or not, he would attempt to deliver his own strike. It was all he could do. She was an impressive fighter, but he wondered if she had the stamina and durability to keep up with him. | TAG WORDS NOTES

Her eyes followed his movements the best she could even as she took the blow. “Kuh!” She wasn’t able to stop the grunt escaping her mouth as the devastating blow from her opponent hit her head on. Her vision swam when the attack struck and it took all her strength to hang on long enough to send out her next, possibly last attack. With the power of her Quirk forcing weight on her she threw her all into her next attack. “Unstoppable…” She breathed out as she poured her all into her next attack. No longer able to hold it back anymore she unleashed her move.
The air around her fist suddenly surged as she turned and swung with her wound up fist at her opponent. “Force!” Her move was simple to execute. It was merely several layers of moving air moving in the direction of her swinging fist. But while it was simple to execute, it was also very tiring. She had made the mistake of using that move later in the fight when she had already used some energy into attacking and anchoring herself down with Immovable Object. Once she unleashed her attack the edges of her vision began to darken as she collapsed on the arena floor, unable to take on more any more damage and fatigue.

Her punch hit like a wrecking ball. It cracked into his side, sending him staggering as bone-metal cracked and bent beneath the force. He felt one of his tribs tremble even as the flames beneath his armor worked quickly to try to heal any superficial bruising. His eyes swam, water leaking, as he took two steps, three, four, and then stopped his chest heaving with the effort of holding his own body up. He looked to his right, the blow had landed for her as well. He looked down at his chest and saw that her punch had smashed completely through his armor. He looked up at her, wide eyed, impressed.
He turned and as the crowd shouted, cheered, and the announcer made his call outs. He pulled himself toward her, dropping to a knee and throwing her arm over his shoulder and sliding one of his arms under her legs. He'd help her into a stretcher.
"You fought well, Iida-chan," He said, his helmet dissolving and revealing a line of blood drawing from his lips and nose. His eyes shined with pride; "Looking forward to working with you in year two," He chortled, coughed and moved to help her into the stretcher as the medics approached. With that, he looked up to the stands and raised a quiet fist into the air. The fight was over. | TAG WORDS NOTES
