Time for a change of pace! Tsuji managed to somehow win the first round, and not in a surprised sort of way, more of a confusion way, as he didn't remember a large chunk of it, and he didn't exactly have the chance to check footage back yet, so it was onwards and upwards to the next battle! The arena had changed dramatically for this bout, now with no major section of protection, meaning that a more definitive ring out could be possible. Also a part of this new arena was it's theme, leaving behind the historical setting of Stonehenge for a more contemporary setting – a mockup arena designed to be part of a famous London locale, the Piccadilly Circus. The name sounded more funny if anything grand, also false advertising, there wasn't a circus there at all, and the city was called London! Then again, Tsuji had learned that other countries could be a little odd to outsiders like him. Speaking of odd, his opponent for this round was going to be Hino Yojin: he knew of Yojin but never really had a sparkling conversation with him physically, he knew more of his escapades in the student chatroom, typically with his “doombas” and his strange relationship to Chimera. A top student in the support sect of the school, Tsuji would have to keep on his toes to see if he had any kind of mechanical tricks up his sleeve. Momoko's efforts the previous round of sneaking to get a hit in with the wire had played a part in the previous fight, so if anything like that were to happen again, he was prepared. Light on his feet, the bear psyched himself up once more, ready for his entrance to be called for. He was going to go for the same thing, to get a routine going, perhaps it would win over the crowd and get chants going, or something. “Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the second round! The next stage of combat is about to begin, and coming from Osaka, Japan, the winner of the first three fighter battle, Tsuji Kuma!” roared the announcer, as his music from round 1 began once more for the bear. In addition, there was a small video on the screens, showing a little compilation of Tsuji doing cool stuff, with a little logo of a bear behind a name graphic too. As soon as it hit the climax, he dashed out towards the statue, the crowd cheering as he did so. Doing a quick lap around the fountain area, and looking towards all the cameras sending the footage across the world, he hopped onto the ledge of the fountain, and bowed towards the cameras and crowd, and then placed himself back down onto the floor, taking a closer look around the arena. It seemed that aside from the statue itself, there wasn't any cover, which was nice after such a cover friendly battle zone last time. Then again, this also meant relying on his own power more than outside forces, so one of his stances was out of the window, at least until something happened. Nevertheless, as his music faded out, he kept up in place, doing some last minute warm-ups before Yojin would arrive for their fight.

There was definitely some sort of wacky theme bracket thing going, Yojin had decided. Him fighting Chimera in the first round could have been a funny coincidence, but him fighting two hulked-out furry mutants? While meanwhile, his opponent had faced down against the president of the tech club last round, and was about to go toe-to-toe with the vice president? Clear conspiracy. The UA teachers had probably decided to play some mischief. On the bright side, Yojin’s preparations for the fight couldn’t have been easier--Tsuji was a very similar opponent to Chimera. On the other hand, Yojin hadn’t actually had time to correct any of the design flaws in his mecha that Chimera had exposed in the last fight. He’d barely had time to fix the broken armor, leg, and systems. So any improvements were going to have to come down to user-input-- Or, in layman’s terms, he had to fuck up less. Yojin revved the Bumblebox’s engine, a mechanical roar echoing through the arena as Tsuji’s music started to fade. Then, the gate opened, and he stomped in, head and shoulders poking out of the hatch atop the three-meter cube of the mecha, face hidden by a visored helmet as he waved at the crowd. He didn’t have theme music, but he did have a foghorn to blast. The ground seemed to shake as the Bumblebox stomped up to the edge of Piccadilly Circus, where it stopped, rattling in place and belting smoke. In his fight against Chimera, the Bumblebox has been clean, polished, and freshly painted. Now, it was scarred and battleworn--a fresh, unpainted slab of aluminum serving as the front armor, and ugly welded patch over the knee. A grizzled prize-fighter, even more of an ugly industrial cube. “And hailing from Nagoya, Japan, our second fighter, the 2-S Support Student...KAAAAMIKAZE!” The announcer boomed. Yojin stiffly raised a hand to wave to the crowd. His stomach was in knots. He’d hoped that a victory would help...and it had, but he still wished he could have stayed inside his mecha. He hated being started at. The showmanship wasn’t for him, though. It was for Tsuji. And for keeping some honor on Support Studies. And for avenging the good name of Robotics club. Ha. “Good name.” Yojin swallowed, pulsing his quirk, and the mecha clasped its gun-claw, and grappling claw together, and tilted forward in a bow. Yojin mimicked the gesture on top. “Good luck.” And then, before Tsuji could sucker-punch him like Chimera had, Yojin dropped back inside the mecha, and closed the hatch, because he wasn’t going to let that happen twice.

Now ready for Yojin to step out, Tsuji would be rather puzzled as to why instead of, well, his opponent to step out by himself, he instead the loud revving of an engine. This question would be answered, however, as stepping out from the shadows was a hefty yellow box, with one Yojin poking out of the top of the contraption. Seemed this fight was fit to change from a one on one to a more complex duel between metal and mettle, but who would come out the other side the victor? There was only one to way to find out, but before that could happen – Tsuji looked to see if there was anything weird about the small mech. For starters, it was on four legs, and had some pretty large appendages, mainly in the form of a little grabby hand, and what appeared to be some sort of gun. This was... alarming, to say the least, but Tsuji had trained day and night, he wouldn't be stopped by some kind of phony bullet. If there were phony ones in there, at least. Working out a strategy, he set himself into position.
“Get into gear, ladies and gentlemen! Fight!” came the call from the announcer, and with that, the battle was begun. Immediately, and in full knowledge a head on battle where he wouldn't move and just pound away with massive strikes in Third Count would be fruitless, Tsuji jumped up in a hop, and placed his arms in front of him, his right at chest height, and the left at his abdomen. “Fourth Count: Air Crane!” he exclaimed, and began to dash towards the yellow box of the robot jock, zipping left and right in a diagonal pattern as he did so. The idea here was about defence, and if that defence was left, then it would only bring a clear path to victory. He needed to wear down this giant monster as much as possible, and get inside. Getting closer to the mech, Tsuji would attempt to leap up to the front, specifically where the legs were standing, and launch out a flurry of blows, much like hitting a speed bag, towards the right leg of the mech. After a number of strikes that would hopefully dent the machine, reducing mobility, he would try and back away, dashing back before the mech could launch a serious blow, but it would leave him open for a brief moment.

And, it begins--
Yojin pulled backwards on the gloves, immediately starting a scuttling retreat toward the outer edge of the ring. Not too close--he didn’t want to leave himself open to getting shoved out. The shock cannon arm started to whine as Yojin charged it, peering through the video feeds from outside of the box to line up a shot on his opponent.
Tsuji was already in motion. Chimera had opened with a sucker punch, but Tsuji was fast, starting with a zippy offensive sprint. It felt unfair--Yojin always expected the big guys to be slower. Solid muscle wasn’t slow, however.
Yojin aimed down the sights, trying to draw a bead as Tsuji zig-zagged. Had the bear seen his fight with Chimera, or just guessed that he was going to try to force a ranged fight?
God. Dammit.
Before the gun had charged, Tsuji slammed into the mecha. Yojin felt it shake--felt paws slam into the armor, twisting and denting. A multi-hit combo, the first chips in the wall of the armor. The camera feed shuddered as wires shorted out, before Yojin’s quirk quickly repaired them.
If he latches on, I route the charge into the ar--
Unlike Chimera had, Tsuji drew back, though. Hit and run? Not what Yojin had expected…
But a dangerous move, against the Bumblebox.
His opponent was too close for Yojin to fire the shot--the shock arm was heating up, he couldn’t hold the charge forever, it threatened to damage other systems. Still, he had a better option. He turned on the spot, pointing the left front knee toward the bear, and closed his hand into a fist.
There was an explosive crack from inside the knee joint. The part of the armor opened up, and a cone-shaped spray of rubber bullets arced through the air toward the retreating bear, like a non-lethal claymore mine. Single use, with enough force to knock a grown man off his feet. The Bumblebox’s answer to crowds.
“For everyone watching...that was single use anti-personnel charge, designed for riot control. Effective up to four meters.” Yojin mumbled through the speakers. Showmanship. He needed people to notice his work. “Hope it’ll make its way onto future hero rescue vehicles.”
He tried to use the charge to pilot the Bumblebox in a strafing circle, still trying to line up a clear shot from the shock cannon.

Scraping the floor from his dash back, it appeared that Yojin didn't prepare for him to lay hands on the mech, and not to follow through. It'd be worth to continue something like that, but Tsuji was prepped to keep going above and beyond the expectations of the robotics club, despite how cool it was. Perhaps one day it might be worth asking for a commission or something. The arms of the machine looked like they were preparing for something, but that wouldn't be the issue to deal with here. The machine quickly shifted around, the left leg now facing towards the bear. As it did so, a loud crack rang through his ears, spooking him a little bit – from this, the leg was now opened, and as a result, a spray of bullets began to erupt from inside. Having to think on his feet, Tsuji leant back, raising his arms in front of his face parallel to each other. The bullets began smacking into his arms – they hurt, but it wasn't bad, they were rubber after all. But the barrage was wide, thick and fast, and as Yojin said, was meant for crowd control. “That may be, Yojin...” the bear began to say, using his legs to start shifting his weight. “...but this isn't a riot: this is a duel!” he continued, and moving along, the bear began to move in a circling motion, still holding his arms up. Ducking his head and swiping through the air with his upper body, he used the momentum from this to start moving forth towards the mech. Dodging and weaving through the array of bullets, he kept getting closer and closer to the infernal machine, however then it began to move around the arena – throwing him off guard quite a bit. Perhaps a new strategy was in order. As the bullets smacked on the floor after initial impacts, and the machine kept moving, Tsuji also kept moving, this time towards the mech to face it, more so the leg that was firing the bullets. Lining up his weaving to where the leg would be, and still carrying the momentum, it was time for it to pay off. Breaking his guard, the bear would begin to keep moving, and try to pummel the section of the opened leg from the side, trying to lay in blow after blow. Hopefully these attacks would break it, but if not, it would have to continue further.

自由自在 mechas are made to suffer
That-- “...but this isn't a riot: this is a duel! --Was an unfortunately accurate point.
Yojin wasn’t a duelist. And the market on personal duel robots was remarkably small, mostly limited to rich hobbyists.
So he was sorta forcing a monkey wrench into a spanner’s job. Workable, but not ideal. And Tsuji was making it hard. Yojin needed to figure out a better strategy when someone closed distance like this--he couldn’t strafe or dodge fast enough to disengage, and tracking Tsuji’s movement with the main canon was next to impossible. He could have detonated the other legs, but now the bear was inside their arc, and…
Ow!
Phantom pain spiked through Yojin’s knee, and he realized that his opponent had gotten another solid hit right before the bumblebox tipped.
The knee buckled to the side, the metal groaning as it bent. The joint was naturally weak there, and Yojin hadn’t been able to plate it so it could take attacks from the side. His opponent was obnoxiously precise.
Not like Chimera. A martial artist.
The knee wasn’t supposed to bend like that.
Thinking on his feet, Yojin staggered forward, and *dropped* the box as repeated hits rained in, trying to crush his opponent with weight. As the final hit came in, the joint *snapped* and the box’s lurching charge-into-ground slam became a fall. Unable
Shit. Shit. If I can’t get up, he can get to the hatch, gotta think of---
Yojin took in a sharp breath, a headache spiking, the stress of puppeting of the box and trying to think starting to get to him. If he just…
He was still holding a shot from the canon!
Yojin swivelled the gun, and instead of shooting Tsuji, fired the arc gun into the bottom of the Bumblebox. It was metal plated, so most of the electronics would survive, and it’d act like a faraday cage, for for a moment...the armor would charge before it grounded itself.

Tsuji kept rocking the leg, blow after blow more chips of metal came loose, and eventually, it began to come looser than ever. As a blowback from the repeated shots, the main box of the machine that housed the robotics club representative tipped towards him, possibly from Yojin's own effort to curb his onslaught, or it could simply have been physics doing their job. He had to keep going, faster now, and the punches came thicker and quicker than before, so he could make sure the mech wouldn't get him. The speed of the blows became a blur to the bear, and soon enough, reeling back, Tsuji blasted a final blow to the knee, and it totally buckled. The yellow box fell down, upright, like a stamp on the back of a letter. However, during the fall, and to make sure there was absolutely, positively, no chance for Yojin to get up, the bear launched a final blow to the knee joint, just to be particular. He knew his quirk could deal with electronics and stuff, so it could hopefully buy him some time. The issue with this idea though, was that the counterattack was already in place, and Tsuji fell into it. With the snap of a gun, and the high-pitched squeal of a flowing current, a sharp surge of energy washed right into his paw, up his arm, and around his body. The pain was incredibly fast spreading, and it got into every nook and cranny of his frame – and after a small scale electrical explosion, he was knocked back a few feet, lying on the floor, his fur all spiked up from the current. As he lay for a moment, he heard the mech go down with him, crashing into the pavement. For a hot minute, Tsuji couldn't get up. He let his guard down, and paid the price for trying to keep going when he should have let up. The flurry of blows was too much, it felt like he gave too much power into it – almost subconsciously. The shock had really caught him, still feeling the crackling of a direct current in his very soul. With one eye shut, and wincing slightly, the bear began to step back up, one leg at a time, pushing himself up with his arms as well. That took a lot from him, but Tsuji was still ready to fight – he wasn't backing down now.

Most of the electronics would survive was not the same as all.
And “survive” was a very different thing than “stay unharmed.”
Yojin felt his own hair stand on end, a spike of pain erupting through his temples as his quirk-senses overloaded. He felt--and saw--camera feeds scramble; a feedback screech of distorted audio blast through the headset, servos twitch and fuzes blow. It was utterly overwhelming. It felt like he’d put his face straight in front of a firehose, and put it on full blast. Strange shapes and colors pulsed in front of his eyes, and he felt his ears pop, a strange, tinny whine that was dreadfully familiar beginning.
If he’d had any thought to spare, he’d have considered how vulnerable he was, but all he could do was try to detach. To pull his quirk out of the mecha, and focus on his own skull, before he broke.
After a long, dreadful couple of seconds, he and the Bumblebox both rebooted. Lights on the dashboard flickered on, backup circuits coming online. A few camera feeds flickered back into existence. Yojin hesitated, gently tracing his fingertips over the dash. He could fix those fuses if he used his quir--NO.
Shockingly (heh) Tsuji hadn’t struck yet.
He’d been in a situation a lot like this with Chimera. Bumblebox crippled, his quirk bloodied. But there, he’d have the opportunity to get out, and hide to sneak attack.
Now? He was right next to his opponent. And the hatch was right there.
Yojin patted his belt, pulling out his shock pistol. It whined to life as he drew it, red lights flashing. Danger. Charged. Something, at least.
Should have brought bear spray.
“Don’t suppose you want to give me a few minutes to get my mecha back on its feet?” Yojin called out, head still ringing. They were close enough that Tsuji could hear through the air-holes in the box. Not that he expected a useful answer. Just making friendly banter, while his brain stalled for ideas.
Could he charge the hatch with another shock? Yojin wondered. He dismissed it quickly. What was this, Lonesome Home? No, he needed something punchier than a cheap party trick. Something…punchier.
He had some pneumatics under his chair. They were pretty damn gentle--meant for just raising and lowering the little thing a few inches. Still.
Yojin popped open the toolbox, and started to unscrew the seat. Hopefully, he had time.

After the gruelling ordeal of getting back to his feet, Tsuji clenched his fist, ready to go on the offensive once more. His fur was all fuzzy now, and smoke was pouring off of his frame, the smell reverberating around his senses – but he could still go a little while longer. Yojin's plea did reach the bear, but it there was a slight issue, and that was a similar one that had happened to him in the last round: deep inside, there was something wanting to come out, after experiencing massive pain he wanted to let go and go wild, Tsuji was almost deaf to the outside world for a moment. Pulling himself back a little, he replied to Yojin, speaking in a cracked voice from the shock. “Let you... get up? Sure... it's just... gonna be pointless, seeing as I'm gonna knock... you down, again.”
Placing his foot back and raising his arm once again, it was time for Third Count, and to go for broke. Dipping onto all fours, he began to run directly towards the yellow mecha, focusing on one section of the mechanical beast – the side boards. If he could get onto it and just rip it off, he could climb inside, and get to Yojin. With the legs of the mecha out, he could just blast right towards it, perhaps using the little arms as footing or something. Nevertheless, he kept dashing, and right at the apex of his run, he sprung onto his feet, and bounced right up, jumping and holding his right fist out, ready to smash into the metal. As he fell, he didn't look around for any tricks or the sort, it was all or nothing at this point. Careening down, the bear slammed his tight fist deep into the solid wall, denting it severely. He grabbed onto the top of the mech with his free hand, digging his claws into it, while using his right to repeatedly land blows onto the protective surface. Hit after hit, the paint scratched away, showing the shimmering metal more and more clearly, until eventually, after reeling back one last hit, Tsuji broke through the barrier separating him from the robotics expert. Taking both hands, he took the hole, and wrenched it apart, peeling back the metal, until it was all gone, throwing the pieces aside. His rip through the mecha had him eyes finally seeing a direct place as to his opponent. Studying where to go, the bear prepared to attack - he peeled back his arm for another hit, and sent his fist flying...
But it didn't land. Midway through the assault, the bear had lost himself like before, and now woke up. And with that, came the immediate drawback of such an assault, especially in his current state. Tsuji closed his eyes and simply fell from his handiwork, planting himself right down to the floor. A last attempt at consciousness had him try to sit up once more, but the damage was done. A combination of overwork, over-defensiveness, and unprotected damage was the clear reason why in this battle, he had lost.

自由自在 an unexpected victory, a very late finale
God, this was nerve-wracking. Yojin scrambled through the guts of his mecha, suddenly, hilariously reminded of camping as a kid--the feeling of huddling inside his sleeping bag at night, while something snuffled and grunted outside, pawing at the walls of the tent. Or, in this case, his mecha. It wasn’t helpful to his creative brain.
Okay. Disconnect the wires, pull the battery out. Hook the battery up to the charging nodes on his taser. Grab the fuel intake hose in one hand, and get ready to spray. His hands moved as fast he could, yellow energy sparking around his hands, his quirk at work, replacing the wrenches and bolts that would normally be needed.
Before he was halfway done, he heard it.
Yojin sucked in a breath.
This was it.
Should have fucking added better armor, damn the weight.
One, two, three, four...nine, ten, eleven hits.
The metal peeled back like the mecha was a can of cat food.
Yojin abruptly dropped his work, grabbing his taser and turning. His heart was pounding in his chest. He knew the pistol wasn’t going to be enough--he’d been lucky to get this far, but this was where it ended. Mecha’s record: 1-1. A perfect tie.
His fingers squeezed the trigger. Tsuji’s paw raised.
Could he even fire without shocking himself?
Tsuji wavered.
Yojin swallowed, then, on instinct, on pure instinct, didn’t fire.
What?
Was this some strange show of mercy?
Yojin’s amber eyes narrowed, weighing Tsuji’s worth.
Sick? Shocked? Or...exhausted?
Yojin let out a sigh, pressing his hands together, and bowed.
He wasn’t a martial artist, but he knew the hero student deserved his respect.
“Damn. I’ll try not to embarrass us in the next round.” He murmured.
I’m not sure I deserved to win this. Even with all my tech…
Suddenly, the tournament felt like it carried a lot more weight than it had before.
