First up, I wanna apologise for the placement of the placement of this thread. It's not really the right location for it but apparently there are very few places that I can make polls on site, and this is one of them so I did it here. Anyway, onto the issue...
So as to not detract from the issue at hand in truepath.xyz/post/59271/thread, I wanna raise the issue of why things, as mentioned there, are never decided by a vote?
I mean, the staff team comprises 10 members according to the banner, but I'd wager that's a lot less than half of the actual community that's here, which seems a bit imbalanced if you ask me?
Personally, I think I would like to have the ability to make a contribution and have a say in the direction the forum takes, with the idea that places with a lot of people should act on the will of the majority? I understand that not every decision that a community like this can take is available for the whole site to comment on, often the finer points of things are more the area that need to be hashed out efficiently among a smaller number, and ultimately there are times when not everyone can get what they want.
However, a forum like this is a community. No one person in it, regardless of the colours they were or the rights they have to edit the site is of any more or any less value to the place than another? RP just doesn't work without numbers, and to me it feels a shame that, from my perception, only a few of those equal numbers are getting a say in what's going on with the site?
But maybe I'm the only one?
So now that I've found a place I can do it, I'ma attach a vote to this to see if other people seem to think the same way as me, or if they think differently?
As Quizzity said in their post there, it's about constructive criticism so while I will welcome comments and opinions on the matter please try to keep things civilised if a debate breaks out from this?
There's no reason to cause stress or hurt feelings over something like this, but at the same time if you feel your voice should be heard (or words should be read), do not be afraid to make them known. Just try not to be a jerk about it, OK?
