"I mean, I've played sports for most of my life, my brother introduced me to basketball when I was young and I fell in love with it ever since," he explained before pausing and remembering the fun times he used to have with his brother before he died It's really been 6 years since then hasn't it. I wonder how different things would be if he was still here he thought to himself. He listened to Chise explain her experience with volleyball "Yeah, but nobody has good coordination in grade school, maybe you should give it another try, you never know, you might surprise yourself," he said "Yeah, maybe I will check out the lodge when I get back, even just practicing by myself can be fun," he said When he asked for a shell she started laughing at his question, when she said she had a fan he realised why she started laughing "Oh a fan, yeah that does sound much easier than cooling down the shell myself doesn't it, sure I'll come for a walk," he replied "Where are we going? Lead the way," he said as he grabbed his game console Don't want anybody taking this while I'm gone he thought to himself

"That's good to hear. It's good to get involved with things you like," Chise said with a smile as she began walking with Akio back to where she had set her belongings at. She wasn't really one for sports but everyone has their own likes and dislikes so she couldn't say much. She turned back to look at him when he said she should consider playing volleyball again now that she's older. Chise shook her head and chuckled, "Thank you for the encouragement, but I think I will pass on that. True I do have a bit more coordination now then I did back then, I just don't find sports appealing. I would much rather slave over a hot oven baking than playing a sport," Chise admitted.
"It's not too far from here. I made sure to shield my belongings under some vacant umbrellas to keep my things out of the sun," Chise said continuing to walk with the other. Chise soon made it back to the umbrellas and lawn chairs where she had placed her bag. She sat down on the chair with her beg on it and dug around inside. Within a few seconds she pulled her mini electric fan out of her bag and set what she didn't need next to her on the chair. Chise smiled and handed Akio her fan, "So what exactly can you do with your quirk? You mentioned being able to cool objects down, does it involve regulating temperature?" the redhead asked looking over to the taller boy.

Akio started walking alongside Chise to go to her belongings. He listened to her as she explained she would much rather cook than play sports "Oh, you cook as well? I love cooking, I used to help my mother in the kitchen when I was younger, before I decided to become a hero, I wanted to be a chef. I still cook for myself for fun though and this way, there's more food for me," he said with a slight chuckle at the end. They arrived at the spot Chise had claimed for her belongings, Akio sat down and accepted the fan from Chise, he turned it on and started cooling himself down.
"My quirk? I can control the temperature of an object or surface that I'm touching. My maximum temperature is about the temperature of a small bonfire, my minimum is about the temperature of an industrial freezer. There are drawbacks though like any quirk. It takes time to heat up or cool down. I'm also normally immune to the effects, my hands don't freeze or burn when I'm controlling the temperature, but if I use it too much I can lose that immunity and become drained of energy. I also can't use it directly on living beings, what about you? What can your quirk do?" He asked, he was always interested in hearing about other peoples quirks.

"That is good. My parents and I always cook when I go home to visit them. Although I would much prefer baking to cooking, I can make a good savory dish or two if needed. Plus, homemade food tastes better than cafeteria food on most days," the redhead said with a smile. She listened as Akio explained his own quirk as she fanned herself off a bit with her hand, thankfully they were in the shade so it was a bit cooler than being in the direct sunlight. "It's like you're a human thermos, keeping things hot or cool depending on what it is," she said with a chuckle, finding the mental image of a human thermos quite amusing.
When Akio asked about her quirk, Chise felt her cheeks heat up a bit. She always found it rather embarrassing to talk about her quirk to others as it was quite an embarrassing quirk to begin with. "My quirk...allows me to copy the voice of any human being by means of lip contact. I can copy up to four voices, not including my own voice, at a time but I can only use them for a limited amount of time. I haven't used my quirk in a while...it's quite embarrassing," the redhead admitted, covering her cheeks with her hands in hopes of trying to clam her blush down.

Akio listened as Chise explained her love of baking over cooking "Yeah baking's fun as well, also usually a lot cooler than cooking savory meals, slaving over really hot stoves with all the hot air and steams, I feel like I need to shower every time I cook," he said chuckling at the last bit "Homemade meals taste so much better than cafeteria food, I try and bring homemade food to school every day," he explained as he offered the fan back to Chise "Here, you look like you need it more than me now, I've cooled off enough anyway, thanks for that," he said as he leaned back and propped himself up with his arms "Haha, I guess you could call me a human thermos," he responded joining in with Chise's laughter When Chise started explaining her quirk Akio listened intently "Hmmm, I can see how that'd be embarrassing, but it's still an awesome quirk. It could be used for infiltration or rescue missions, like if you had to infiltrate a base or hideout of some sort, you could copy the voice of a patrolling thug or someone similar and trick the others. I think it's a cool quirk," Akio explained enthusiastically.

"Hmm maybe but it still can get pretty hot in the kitchen depending on what you are making. You could have the oven on to bake something, the stovetop on if you're doing something like melting chocolate or making a reduction, you have plenty of tools you'd use like a mixer and maybe even a griddle or cookie press. It can get a bit hectic if you are not careful," Chise said with a small chuckle, recounting some of her kitchen disasters. One of her first times baking, she had spilt the large bag of flour that sat on the counter and turned the kitchen into a winter wonderland. She's learned her lesson though, always be careful in the kitchen.
Chise smiled and nodded in agreement to Akio's comment about home cooked meals. "Something about home cooked meals just tastes better than pre-prepared foods. I don't know, perhaps I'm just weird like that," the redhead said. Chise almost didn't notice Akio hand her fan back to her, was she really fanning herself that much? "Ah thank you," she said, taking her fan and pointing the small cool breeze at her, letting out a soft sigh in relief at how nice and cool the fan was against her semi-hot skin.
Chise sheepishly smiled at Akio, knowing that her quirk was embarrassing enough as it was, but it was her quirk, there was nothing she could do to change it. She listened to the crimson haired boy talk about what sort of work she could do with her quirk, mentioning things that she had previously thought of when she was in middle school. "I would like to do some undercover work, as hopefully my quirk would be more equipped to handling that then being defenseless while out in the open. Being an undercover spy sounds fun!" Chise said, getting out of her embarrassing funk and silently thanking Akio for lightening the mood. "Still, it's quite embarrassing to tell others about. I appreciate your kind words, thank you Akio," the redhead said with a genuine smile.

As the day went on and more people started to arrive at the beach, more things started to open up. This time, there were a few stands opening up on the edge of the beach where the sand touched the boardwalk just between the beach and the lodge. Most of them were empty before, but now staff started to set up the registers and display the goods they were selling. It was mostly food. One stand sold different kinds of ice cream and frozen desserts. Another was selling cold fruits. There was even a place for sugary or salty snacks that the students could have. It was just a way for the workers to make some extra money and for the students to have something tasty to eat if they didn't bring anything themselves.

"That's true, the kitchen can get very hectic sometimes, I remember when I was doing some baking once, I had to measure some sugar, so I put the measuring cup into the bag of sugar to scoop it out and turned around to get something, but when I let go of the bag the whole bag tipped onto the floor and made a mess, my parents weren't very happy with that one, hahaha," Akio remembered, chuckling as he told the story. "The only bad thing with bringing home cooked food to school is either making it the night before, or getting up really early to cook, I like my sleep so I don't want to get up, but it's better if it's cooked in the morning compared to sitting in the fridge overnight, it's a very big dilemma for me most nights," he said with a slight chuckle. "Undercover spy work would be really fun, although I usually feel better working in a team, so that someone can pick up the slack if I mess up hahaha, but spy work would still be fun, get to learn stealth attacks and stuff like that, although, red hair like ours would probably stand out if we were sneaking around wouldn't it?" he said as he turned around to see some food stands opening up "Oh hey, want to see what food they've got up there?" Akio asked as he stood up and stretched

Chise listened to Akio's story and chuckled along with him, finding mishaps in the kitchen quite ugly at first but soon turn into something you can think back and laugh about. You think stories like this are bad in the moment, but in reality they really aren't that bad. You have to think about how things could have gone a lot worse. Chise knew that she was bound to make more silly mistakes in the future, but for right now it was good to reminisce about he past.
The redhead listened to the boy talk about the pros and cons of home cooked meals, one being the actual preparation of said meal. "That is true, I do like my sleep as well. It depends on what I'm making in all honesty. Sometimes if I really ant to enjoy a meal, 'll get up early to prepare it if not, I will make it the night before. There is no real harm in eating a meal you prepared the night before, it might not taste as good as when you first made it though, unfortunately." Chise said with a slight frown. She could think of a few times where her delicious cooking ended up just plain mediocre the next day when she ate it.
"I always thought espionage work would be interesting, something you don't really see many people go into. Perhaps because they want to be out in the spotlight, surrounded by the all the attention from the people. Who knows for certain." Chise listened to Akio 's comment about their red hair standing out and chuckled, "That might be true yes. Perhaps I'll have to wear a disguise to cover up my bright poofy hair," Chise said, wondering what sorts of disguises she would wear if she were a spy. Her thoughts were interrupted though as Akio asked if she wanted to check out the food stands that opened up along the boardwalk. "Sure, we can take a stroll up there and see if there is anything that looks tasty," Chise said getting up and grabbing her belongings, not wanting to go too far without them.
