APPEARANCE AND PERSONALITY
Appearance:
Diego stands at the average height for a 14 year old and, similarly, weighs in at a rather average weight as well. His skin is a light brown, the color of sand, and his eyes are brown as well. However, they are much darker in shade, similar to milk chocolate instead. His skin possesses no scars, though his knuckles are a bit darker than the rest of his body due to all the fighting. His body shape is skinny but toned and his muscles can be seen though they aren’t exactly large anyway.
Normally, Diego can be seen wearing skinny or slim fit jeans with a pair of converse, a t-shirt (usually one with a pop culture reference) and a jacket. On his face he usually wears a pair of shades to contrast with the bright nature of his own quirk. They also just look cool. His right ring finger also bears the glowing band of his quirk.

Personality:
Diego was raised in an environment that resulted in a very headstrong and belligerent personality. This means that Diego has absolutely no problem with picking a fight with someone, especially if it’s over something he believes in that they disagree with and vice versa. But even without the emotional depth, Diego still enjoys a good brawl.
In terms of verbal behavior, Diego has a hard time keeping his mouth shut and always has something to say. He’s also brutally honest, the type to see someone receive lots of praise for something and then remind them that they have tons of room for improvement in a terribly mean way. He also is very snarky and sarcastic whenever battling.
Diego is very creative and resourceful, though, especially with his quirk. This is thanks to his uncle Miguel who would teach him certain tips and tricks that eventually got Diego used to developing some of his own when needed.

HISTORY
Diego was born in The Bronx, New York to two immigrant parents, both from Mexico. Both his mother and father were quirkers but didn’t use their powers to become heroes. Rather, they desired to keep their powers suppressed as they tried to make an honest living. The reason for this was because the couple had found themselves in trouble with a Mexican gang due to Diego’s father defending himself against an attack with his quirk. Luckily, Diego’s uncle was rich enough to move them to the States before things got too hectic and since then the couple have sworn off using their quirks.
Diego, however, was much different. In his childhood, his father made it clear that he should do his very best to resist using his quirk unless things got far too dire. His father believed that using a quirk would do nothing but bring more trouble, and the vigilantism in New York was the outlet in which he tried to prove this to Diego. Government enemies, hunted by the police, quirkers were no good without the backing of the law, backing that Diego’s father almost assured Diego that he would not have. But the boy didn’t care.
Where his father saw only trouble and misery, Diego’s childish eyes saw heroism and honor. He loved that. Vigilantes were idols Diego believed he could look up to and would sometimes tell his father he wanted to be one, though his father would only stand to crush his dream, saying he’d never allow it. His mother never stood up for him either, only watching with sorrowful eyes. She wished to support him but she felt that in some ways, her husband was right. This resulted in Diego developing a bit of resentment for them both. He did, however, absolutely love his Tio Miguel who would come visit them every once in a while.
Diego’s Uncle Miguel seemed to be the only one who truly had his back in his life, with his mother a silent bystander, his father a brutally honest parent and the kids at school who already looked at him sideways for being the first generation of his family born in America since his parents were immigrants that barely spoke english. In a cruel world, Diego’s uncle was his one backer. In fact, being that he had the same quirk as Diego’s father which Diego inherited along with his mother’s, Miguel would even sometimes teach Diego a few tricks with his quirk.
But, this wasn’t enough to stop Diego from becoming a rowdy kid with clear paternal issues. He was snarky, snappy, sarcastic. He didn’t care who said or did what, if he was at odds with it, he had something to say about it. This formed his hostile demeanor, a demeanor that resulted in him getting in heaps of physical trouble in school and in the streets.
As he continued to grow, his relations did not improve, and eventually everything came to a head when he told his father his true desires of proving to him, the law, and his peers that someone like Diego who was a quirker and the son of two immigrants could become someone who was more than worth a damn. That he could become a savior and he could do better. But his father didn’t care, and thus they exploded in differing ideals, before Diego’s mother stepped in.
She finally criticized Diego’s father for being so unsupportive and apologized to Diego for being so passive. To make up for it she had spoken with Miguel about sending Diego to a hero school in Japan that was quickly becoming prestigious called U.A. Diego’s father and Diego had no qualms about seperating for an extended period of time and just like that, with his rich uncle’s financial backing, he found himself in a completely new country, learning to defy stereotypes and become a hero the right way.
