APPEARANCE AND PERSONALITY
Appearance:
Azusa is a young woman of petite stature. Thanks to her childish physique and proportions, she is easily mistaken for someone half her age. Her baby face and youthful demeanor make it hard to believe that she is actually old enough to drink. Her physical appearance gives off an impression of innocence and delicateness that belies her true maturity.
She sports shoulder-length blonde hair typically styled in pigtails with ribbons that match her outfit for the day. In terms of clothing, she normally goes for elegant dresses and girly fashion styles. She is not too fond of high heels as she prioritizes comfort over adding a bit of height. She also almost never uses makeup because she believes that her natural cuteness is one of her best charm points.
She rarely wears much jewelry or gaudy accessories. If she is carrying one, her bag or umbrella often matches the rest of her attire as well. She takes great care that nothing is out of place in her overall look.
POSITIVE
✔ Diligent, creative, resourceful, courteous, open-minded, fair
NEGATIVE
✖ Passive-aggressive, image-conscious, worrywart, moody
LIKES
✔ Chocolate, confectionery, cute clothes, shopping, sightseeing
DISLIKES
✖ Pests, troublemakers, people who dislike sweets, being belittled
Personality:
Azusa believes in hard work and has the mindset that people who put in effort in their endeavors will get rewarded for it. She has a soft spot for dreamers as she considers herself to be one as well. She can't help but feel supportive of underdogs and those who have the odds stacked against them. As an artist, she is someone who often thinks outside of the box. She always tries to come up with new recipes to improve her skills. In terms of passion for her craft, she is confident that she wouldn't lose to anyone.
Of course, she is not without flaws. In particular, she doesn't have the most impressive mental fortitude. She grew up in a world of harsh criticism. While this contributed to her growth, she also became more sensitive to reviews and critiques. It isn't uncommon for her to dwell on negative feedback and spend a long time in self-reflection. Should she be unusually troubled, she sometimes ends up saying things that she doesn't mean. She is quick to apologize but usually continues to punish herself for it even when others have already moved on.
The best way to liven up her mood is to do things that she likes. Shopping trips are especially effective. Going on an excursion also helps take her mind off her worries. She is always looking for inspiration, and so she appreciates the different sights and sounds she encounters on her travels.
As a hero, it's practically a prerequisite that she has a strong sense of justice. She is always willing to lend a hand when she can. She doesn't rate her abilities too highly, however, and prefers to relegate herself to a more supportive role when it comes to heroics. But if the situation calls for it, she can be just as brave and daring as the best of them, even though she is probably really nervous on the inside.

HISTORY
Azusa was born to an old family that had been making Japanese confections for over a century. When quirks began to appear around the world, members of her family would coincidentally develop quirks related to Japanese sweets. Whether it was a miracle or a blessing from god, they would become among the few who would incorporate the use of quirks in their business, obtaining licenses to do so.
Azusa however would not be blessed with the same luck. While the rest of her siblings possessed quirks signature to her family, she alone was somehow born with a quirk that was different from the rest. With little understanding of quirks and how they came to be, she couldn't really be faulted for how things turned out. But it was inevitable that her family would show more favor to her siblings whom they saw could carry on the family business. After all, chocolate was a little out of place when it comes to traditional Japanese confections.
Still, she was diligent with her studies. Even though there were less expectations of her, she would continue to do her best to polish her craft. Her interest in sweets was genuine and eventually she would come to appreciate more the quirk she was born with. She would end up traveling to Europe to find her calling there, taking an apprenticeship under a master chocolatier.
As a foreigner from the east with looks that make her seem far younger than she actually was, Azusa's studies abroad were difficult. Many times her peers would look down on her or criticize her works, especially in her early days when she still mostly applied traditional Japanese techniques with her sweets making. However as time passed her perseverance would help her through the challenges and she would go on to gain recognition for her talents. People began to acknowledge that her skills were the real deal and she would be regarded as an eccentric but gifted student.
Her life abroad would take an interesting turn when she became involved in an incident that would have claimed the lives of several people if she had not taken action. While sightseeing to get some inspiration for her next work there was an accident in a nearby bridge. A bus had lost its brakes and crashed into the railing. It was in danger of tipping over the edge and falling at any moment. Running up to the compromised vehicle, she used her quirk to keep it steady and secure until further help arrived. Impressed with her efforts, the local hero attempted to recruit her and she ended up being convinced to apply for volunteer license.
Becoming a hero was a career path she had never considered before especially since it was a new venture that only a few countries had begun to adapt so far. Up until then, sweets were her sole passion. It turned out she had a knack for it, and between her chocolatier apprenticeship and hero work and training she had grown busier than ever. It was a hard life to balance but she found it fulfilling.
Eventually the apprentice would catch up with the master. It was only a matter of time with the accomplishments she had been racking up. At this point she was a respected chocolatier in her own right. She decided it was about time to return to Japan, taking all she had learned to start anew in her home country. Thanks to a recommendation from her previous hero job, she was able to get a local license as well after taking the tests. The Chocolate Heroine, Valentine, could finally make her Japan debut.
