And the bat says, "Bonjour!" THE DIRECTIONS WERE NOT VERY STRAIGHTFORWARD. The child was a little winded, and a little churlish, when he’d arrived at the store that he’d painstakingly walked to. If he’d known the area better, he would’ve flown, but the man’s directions were for walking people, not for flying people. There were footsteps fastly approaching, which caused the child to shyly bank towards the edge of the sidewalk, nearly bumping into the pole for a street-sign. It wasn’t until the runner greeted him that the child understood he was in no immediate danger.
“Zombie King,” the boy replied, also in English, “That was a long walk! Are you sure there are no closer grocery stores? My legs hurt!”
The child sat on the curb, folding his wings so that they didn’t get in his way. He gave a theatrical sigh. At the offer of snacks, Shiloh paused. You weren’t supposed to take candy from strangers. But… if you watched the buy the candy… that was alright, right? Because you knew where it came from?
“Okay!” the boy said brightly.
He hoisted himself to his feet, groaning faintly at the effort—his legs were really tired—and was about to follow Zombie King towards the market when a new sound assaulted his ears. A dull roar, like a blowtorch but bigger. It struck fear into the child, and sent him scampering behind Zombie King’s leg, using his claws to pull his ears down over his face. The sheer magnitude of the sound blotted out the auditory landscape around him.
Soon, however, the noise faded, and Shiloh hesitantly let go of his ears. Someone was approaching, and addressing “Z” in another language. Z for Zombie King, right? Shiloh leaned around the apparent zombie’s leg, his dark eyes regarding the newcomer without seeing her. Her footsteps, the hush of passing cars, and her speech all illuminated her.
She was massively tall, just like Zombie King—though not nearly as tall as Shiloh’s Papa, it was worth noting—and the cloak that billowed around her made her seem even larger. Shiloh was a little star-struck, a little breathless.
“Are you a hero too!?” the boy demanded in his thickly-accented English, remembering his voice, “Are you Zombie King’s friend!?”
She had to be Zombie King’s friend, because she’d called him “Z”. Only friends shortened your name to single letters, of that Shiloh was sure.
Wow! To think he was in the company of two heroes! If he’d known this many heroes in France, the kids at his school would’ve definitely left him alone. It made Shiloh feel so cool. He felt so powerful.

Hinata felt a little worse for his deliberately wrong directions when the child laments about how long the walk is. When the boy asked if there were no closer, stores, Hinata sheepishly scratched the back of his head before responding with, "this...closest one... I knew about..." Hinata lied through his teeth. Thankfully, his English was poor or else the kid would've picked up on his lie, Hinata isn't as good at lying to children as he was to adults, which most would consider a good thing, but not when you just misdirected a kid to a nearly two-hour walk. "Sorry..." Hinata genuinely apologized to the kid but for not what he thinks he's apologizing for.
Hinata watched as the kid dramatically sat on the curb and gave out a dramatic sigh. Hinata being a reasonable adult squatted next to the kid on the curb as he spoke to him, the kid went from exhausted to excited as he offered him food, Hinata smiles at the kid behind his medical mask. He's cute if a little too trusting. Once Shiloh stood up, and the kid nearly collapsed again, Hinata jerked his hand forward as he stood up a bit to catch the kid if he fell, but thankfully he didn't.
As Hinata and the bat kid were about to enter the grocery store, Hinata heard a low roar as he knew who finally arrived. The kid hid behind his legs which caught Hinata off guard, but he let out a small sigh as he watched the kid cover his face with his ears, Hinata wanted to pat him on the head but decided against it and tried to cover more of the child from the sounds of Hellhound's quirk. When Hinata looked at the source that scared Shiloh so bad, Hinata shot the woman, a three-fingered wave with a flick of his wrist, he greeted her casual greeting with his own, "Yo, I could use help speaking to this kid, he speaks, English, and my English is ass." Hinata talked to Hellhound in Japanese with a gruffness that hasn't been there when he was talking to the boy moments ago.
Mentioned boy shot out from behind his leg and started speaking to Hellhound, asking if she too was a hero, and was a friend of his. If Hinata wasn't wearing a mask, he would've blushed at the idea. Hinata simply let out a sigh and scratched the back of his neck. "Yes... He---ckhound is a friend of mine... and a Hero too," Hinata corrected himself mid-sentence as he introduced her to Shiloh. He didn't want to teach a kid a swear.
Hinata squatted down again to Shiloh's height and said to him in his poor English, "Why... not... Introduce yourself, Shiloh?" Hinata encouraged the boy to speak to her, "Her face ... may be scary... but she's nice...her English better than mine..." As Hinata spoke to Shiloh, he shot Hellhound a glare from his eyes alone as his face was covered in a mask to tell her, "Don't you dare tell anybody this."

Freya arrived to see Zombie King with an interesting companion. A small bat boy who seemed relatively starstruck by her appearance and speaking in clear English from what she can hear. ‘What exactly kind of situation did he get into today’, she thought as she slowly woke up. His new adorable friend seems lost from what she recalled from the message that was sent. This was the last thing she as expecting to start the day with as she never had a case where someone came to this country without some kind of guide, ESPECIALLY with someone as young as the kid. Is he lost? Perhaps taken from a bad home? An orphan? About a dozen questions plague her mind as she looked at Zombie King and the kid.
“That's it? Sure, but what do you want me to say to the little guy?”, she asked in Japanese to him as he said he needed help. Never thought she’d see the day where she would be using her native tongue to translate to a kid but the world is full of surprises these days. The kid of course asked and Zombie King answered in turn...while she held in a chuckle for his refusal to say her actual hero name. “I’m a hero alright! The Burning Hero, He-ckhound!”, she followed up in English to Z’s remark, holding back a slight chuckle at her saying the censored version of her name. Playing along is one strategy she always loved since its allow her so much more wiggle room when it comes to questions. Despite her looks, she does enjoy working with kids at times when they let her. The issue mostly comes from her glare and she cant blame em; a resting glare like hers can kill a man without words.
“Z’s right, I won't bite. What seems to be the matter? You lost?”, she asks as clearly as she can in English. Making sure she doesn't swear in front of him since her co-worker seems to be adverse to cursing in front of the little guy. She got on her need so she can speak to the bat at eye level and trying her best to not look threatening to him. "Do you want a snack?", she said as she took out some candy from her pockets. Candy in the morning is now exactly the best solution to this but its something. Her phone would vibrate in her pocket as the Hounds were waking up and some were on their way, in the smaller patrol car they are using. One can only wonder what happened to the battle bus but she can assume an operation went awry. But they will arrive later as she trying her best to see if the kid will open up to her.

And the bat says, "Bonjour!" THE CHILD SIMPLY GROANED WHEN Zombie King insisted that this was the closest grocery store he knew of. What the heck, Japan?! Why weren’t you designed with stubby bat-legs in-mind, huh? Well… forgive and forget, particularly when food was on the line.
Whoever had startled Shiloh appeared to be friends with Zombie King, for as soon as they arrived, Zombie King began to speak in fluent Japanese. The child listened with wide-eyed wonderment, totally unaware of what was being discussed.
“Heckhound?!” the child echoed. That was an even sillier name than Zombie King, and it warranted contemplating. The ambient noise didn’t reveal anything unusual about the way that the woman was built, besides the fact that she was massively tall. Zombie King was decently tall, too, though—and Shiloh was very short. The child was brimming with questions, but Zombie King interrupted him before he could ask them—introduce yourself, Shiloh.
“My name is Shiloh!” he said simply, “But if we’re using fake names, my name is Batty!” Because he was a bat, of course. Heckhound procured candy from her pockets, offering it to the child, and again the bat was confronted with the quandary of—you shouldn’t take candy from strangers, but this was a pro hero and Shiloh was hungry.
“I’m not lost,” the child explained, “And… no… no thank you.”
He sounded contrite to decline the candy, but Shiloh quickly explained that, “Zombie King and were going to get breakfast, right?” in bright tones to try and make the woman feel better. Nothing personal, just… Zombie King had already promised him food!
“So… is your name… Heckhound… because you like dogs?” Shiloh asked, “Or because you hate dogs? Or are you part-dog?”
Another potentially-offensive question, if it hadn’t been asked by an apparent bat.
“What was the roar when you came here?”
He was blind and didn’t see it, only heard it. The child demanded answers!
“Why does Zombie King think your face is scary?”
Now there was no excuse of, “Sorry, my English is bad,” to save the poor, unsuspecting pro hero from rapid-fire childish questions.
“Do you want to eat breakfast with us? You shouldn’t have candy for breakfast…”
It wasn’t Shiloh’s place to offer to spend Zombie King’s money, but it wasn’t polite to eat in front of someone else, either. Especially when all they had for breakfast was pocket-candy. Shiloh took a hold of Zombie King’s hand, tugging it lightly, “Can she eat breakfast with us, please?!”
Shiloh was so enthusiastic about the possibility of eating breakfast with two professional heroes, he didn't realize the implications of the things he had said-- a child was unaccompanied but not lost in Japan, without a lick of Japanese at their disposal, and they hadn't eaten breakfast yet. He had certainly given them a lot of information, without having explicitly said it at all. He dug his heels into the pavement, dangling from Zombie King's hand as he awaited a verdict.

Hinata could see that the woman was thinking a million thoughts a second which he couldn't blame her for doing that since he did the same himself once he encountered this child the kid has that effect on others it seems poor kid. Hinata wished his English was better, damn his lack of formal education. Hinata is now dreading not picking up much English as a teen.
Hellhound asked him what he wanted to ask the kid, which Hinata look thoughtful for a moment. But his thoughtful expression to one of slight embarrassment and a hint of a green blush behind the mask as he could hear Hellhound holding back a laugh. Thankfully -more for him than the child- played along with the nickname. When she said her censored name, Hinata looked away from her despite wearing the mask his blush was spreading to his ears so she could see it if she was observant enough. He hoped she didn't notice. It didn't help when the young boy repeated it. He wanted to bury his masked face in his hands right now.
Thankfully before Hinata died of embarrassment, after some urging, Shiloh introduced himself to Hellhound. And he even thought up a fake name for himself, batty. Hinata looks down at the young boy, and asked the boy in his rough English, "Do you want us... to call you ... Batty?" Hinata asked the small child and watches as Hellhound tried to give candy after saying she won't bite, and he wisely declined her offer, which Hinata praised in English, "Nice... manners Batty..."
Shiloh then explained to Hellhound why he declined her candy, that he already agreed to have breakfast with him, which Hinata agreed with a smile and a, "Right," in response to the boy's bright tone. Hinata is not quite why he's acting like this, to be honest. But it was cute how the small boy was acting towards him, Hinata isn't used to such innocence in his life, so it kept making him reel in response.
When the young boy asked his questions, despite the language barrier, Hinata caught a bit of it and couldn't help but stifle a few chuckles himself at hellhounds, especially about her face and being a part dog. The kid sure was curious about many things. And unknowingly revealed a lot about himself which Hinata shot the woman a worried expression quickly. But when the boy asked if Hellhound could eat breakfast with them, Hinata nods at the boy and says, "Yeah... of course.... candy is not healthy... for breakfast... " Hinata says with a smile, as the small bat boy hangs from his hand.
Hinata remembering his dirty trick he played on the kid and a pang of guilt shot through him and he leaned down to the kid's height and asked the young boy, "Batty... must be tired of... walking... want to climb on my back... to get off feet?" Hinata will accept whatever answer he says.

Freya contained herself as she heard the kid respond and ask her about her name. It took all of her willpower to not burst out laughing but she had to keep it up for Zombie King. It was then she learned of the kids name and he was of course named Shiloh or ‘Batty’. It was of course adorable because a tiny bat child acting all energetic will even bring down someone like Freya a couple of notches. Though he declined on the candy as it was indeed time for breakfast and he was smart enough to decline.
Adding on that him and Z are going to have some breakfast and to assure her that he is not lost. Which is a good start to a morning like today and reminds her that she should get something to eat. But she aint going to take a kids words for it since despite being adorable, he does look lost. But she rolled with his questions in order to entertain him a bit.
“I like dogs, but dogs are cool animal to scare off the bad guys”, she responded as he asked his first questions.”When I fly, you can hear me roar and my face looks scary so the bad people don't hurt people”, it was a saving grace that she is fluent in English or she would be having trouble answering these questions one after another. But she was taken aback once he asked if he wanted to eat breakfast with her. He looked to Z for a moment and he of course said yes as she didnt want to jump aboard since he had this covered. But rolling with the situation is what Freya does best the kid was eager to have her come along so might as well say screw it and have some breakfast. Zombie could use the company and the guys at the office are taking their sweet time for pick up. She stretched her arms into the air and cracked her neck.
“Might as well come along, haven't had breakfast yet and you two seem hungry”, she kneeled down for a moment as she pat Batty on his head for a moment. As she saw Zombie King offer a ride on his back for the kid.
“What do you want for breakfast kid?”, she asked as she began to follow the duo on this fine morning.

And the bat says, "Bonjour!" ZOMBIE KING OFFERED TO CALL the child “Batty” rather than “Shiloh”, and the child’s expression brightened at this. It would be like he was a hero, too! Despite the lingering tiredness in Shiloh’s legs, he managed a few, eager bounces, clapping his taloned “hands” together.
“Yeah! You can call me Batty!” he agreed, a little too overzealous.
The child listened raptly as Heckhound explained everything—about how dogs were cool and scared-off bad guys, and about how she made a roar when she flew, and about how her face was scary, at least to bad people.
“Wow,” Shiloh sighed, clearly impressed by all of the information Heckhound had provided.
He was only a little disappointed that she didn’t actually have a dog-face. Ah well.
The trio agreed that breakfast was in-order, not candy, and the boy remained fastened to Zombie King’s hand. The Zombie leaned down, speaking conciliatorily to the child, offering to carry him rather than forcing him to walk. Shiloh nodded, and directed the much-taller man to, “Come down here!”
Shiloh wasn’t sure of the word “kneel” in English, so he hoped the directive and pointing at the ground was enough of a hint. Once Zombie King knelt, the child would expertly scrabble onto his back, looping his wings around his neck. His arms were a good deal longer than the average child’s, so he wouldn’t run the risk of strangling Zombie King.
Do zombies even breathe, the child wondered?
“Be sure to hold my legs!” the bat insisted. If he didn’t, Shiloh’s claws would likely rip holes in Zombie King’s hero outfit from trying to stay in-place.
With Batty Backpack fully initialized, Hinata would look rather like a short, bat-like cloak draped around Hinata’s shoulders.
“We’re spooky!” the child told Heckhound, entirely too pleased by the prospect, “Like Halloween!”
He wriggled a little, until he found a comfortable spot on Zombie King’s back, using his new vantage point to survey Heckhound.
What did Shiloh want for breakfast?
“Mandarins?” the bat proposed. He was basically always down to eat mandarins, and he knew that there were mandarins in Japan, because Gilbert had bought him mandarins. If there weren’t mandarins, though, the next recommendation would be, “Or maybe bananas…”
The air quieted as they crossed the threshold into the store, an electric bell signaling their arrival. Shiloh burrowed his muzzle in Zombie King’s shoulder, deep in-thought.
“Oo! Or if they had one of those fruit drinks! The uh… what’s it… uh… frozen juice drinks! In bottles.”
He really liked fruit, okay? Sometimes he could stomach his way through and egg, but fruit was where it was at.
“What do you like for breakfast?”

Hinata couldn't handle the cuteness that was this adorable kid so that Shiloh wouldn't pick up on it. He gave him a thumbs-up as Shiloh excitedly allows him to call him Batty, Hinata temporarily forgot that Batty couldn't see. When he remembered, Hinata lowed his hand and just said, in a tone that was barely concealing his sheepish tone, "Of course, Batty..." While shooting Heckhound a glare not to tell the kid what he just did.
Hinata patiently listened to heckhound and Batty talk in English until he heard the one word he knew for sure, breakfast. Hinata Perked up and focused on what they are saying. Until Batty asked him to come down and pointed down to the ground, which got a good-natured chuckle out of the man as he does just that. The young boy climbed him up quite skillfully, and he wraps his long arms around his neck but not suffocatingly so.
The boy then asked him to hold on to his legs, which got a small, "Got you, Batty." Hinata grabbed the boy's legs and supported him properly. Hinata looks back at the child and asks, "Comfy?"
Hinata didn't mind this sort of Bat kid backpack on his back, or Batty backpack you could say. The boy then exclaimed they were spooky- Like Halloween. Hinata couldn't help but smile at that and join along with the child, "The spookiest... The Halloweeniest?" Hinata said with an uncertain chuckle at his last words.
Once the young boy wiggled around on his back to make himself comfy, the boy then proposed mandarin oranges or bananas. And as the trio walked into the store -they must've looked like a crazy family- Batty then exclaimed that he would also like an ice fruit drink in a bottle, Hinata looks back at Batty and says in a light-hearted tone which for Heckhound must sound weird from him, "Why not all three?" Hinata says with a chuckle, "You've been good, I'd say, Batty, so you get extra treats," Hinata said with a smile.
Batty then asked what he wanted, Hinata lets out a thoughtful "Hmm... a fruit bento box sounds good to me... or maybe um... uh, a fruit parfait?" Hinata struggled to say as he started carrying the boy to the fruit section of the store. Hinata then looked over at heckhound and asked, "How about you Heckhound..." Hinata lets out a cough as he realized what he said again, "Uh... yeah what will you be uh, having?" Hinata asked her, hoping she didn't catch his slip up.

Holy fuck this kid is adorable.
Freya thought as she followed along as the little bat made his Halloween comment. Half of her kept herself contained as she wanted to pat the kid on the head. But she had to keep her public persona in check as she chuckled at his comment. Hinata followed suit with his comment as he looks to be enjoying quite a bit. No harm in enjoying this rather nice time and she kept her mouth shut for any comments she was about to make. Though from a passerby's perspective, they look like a crazy family with the looks they seem to be getting. A few punks making comments but they shut their mouths the moment she glared their way.
Breakfast was now on the topic as the kid answered with fruits. The mental image of the kid eating fruits like a bat normally would pop up and of course it was quite comedic looking. She followed along to the store as it was still rather early in the day for any trouble. Her presence in the area along with Zombie Kings makes for good deterrents as they were with a kid. They entered the store and the expressions on the clerks face could be seen as comedic to her as they were both in reverie and shock in the presence of the three. She saluted them as non verbally asked them to be quiet as she followed the duo to the fruit aisle. A variety of packages fill the rows as she wondered to get as this store has a wide selection of fruit flavor snacks and sweets. She was about to ask Batty and Z's thoughts.
However she was caught off guard as he did call her Heckhound by accident but he adjusted. It was quite adorable to see him play along with the kid but the same can be said about her. She thought about what to eat and she wasn't feeling any meat or anything...might as well splurge and stay in the spirit with the kid.”Hm...haven't had a parfait in a while...might as well go for that as the mighty Heckhound”, she replied as she gave a rather smug look at Hinata. She will pay for her own but she grabbed two just in case.
“What are your favorite kinds of fruits, Batty?”, she asked as she continued to follow the group with the parfaits in hand.

And the bat says, "Bonjour!" SHILOH COULDN'T SEE THE THUMBS-UP, true—but he could sense that Zombie King had extended an arm towards him, and he could barely sense the appendage that extended from it, with his echolocation.
And, when he managed to scrabble into “backpack” position, Zombie King asked if he was comfy. Shiloh burrowed his face in Zombie King’s shoulder with a chipper, “Yeah, super comfy!”
And when Zombie agreed with his “Halloween” observation, Shiloh’s excitement rose even more, chanting, “Yeah! Yeah, the absolute Halloweeniest!”
His ears were super cold, so it was nice to be a Batty Backpack for someone who with someone warm. Even his fur was cold. He might even nod-off, if he was on Zombie King’s back for long enough.
“All three?! Wow!!” Shiloh cheered, snapping to attention. He bounced excitedly at the prospect, trying to clamber taller, “But… how will I carry them all?”
People in Japan were so nice!! No one in France would ever help Shiloh like this.
When Heckhound asked the child’s favorite fruits, Shiloh eagerly answered, “Mandarins! And bananas!”
Unsurpising, since those were the two fruits he’d explicitly requested. He stopped his eager bouncing, sighing theatrically. The sooner they got breakfast, the sooner they could eat together. It would be fun!
“What is your favorite fruits?” Shiloh asked in reply.
