Shiloh asked him why doesnt he teach his kids english more. G shrugged and said "I'm pretty sure 1 knows english. I cant teach the other since she's busy with school. Plus she's in that rebel teen phase that I doubt she would listen to me"After that the young bat asked if they really wanted to be heroes? He was star struck. G chuckled and patted him on the head "Yep" and then Shiloh asks how does one become a hero. G answered that as well "Well... you gotta go to school, study a lot and train a lot. And then do a bunch of tests and excercises. Very tedious if you ask me and very boring. But sadly very necessary, because not everyone is talented to just do it at the get go." he answered Shiloh asked dont heroes just put funny clothes, look fancy and do good things "Yes that is part of it. But you gotta remember bad guys exist. They wanna harm the heroes and everyone good. Heroes gotta train to be strong to fight bad guys. Because doing good things is easier said then done." G had to cut himself off there, because he didnt wanna go on a tangent and teach Shiloh that stuff, he didnt wanna bore the kid nor reveal that he knows hero stuff way too much. And then the young bat mused how he would like to be a hero or an astronaut. G chuckled "Hmm, an astronaunt hero. Sounds exciting. Well, if you ever wanna commit to that idea I'll gladly help you" G said, after all he wouldnt mind teaching Shiloh stuff. It can be baby stuff like he did with Miku. Not high packed action right away. But thats only if Shiloh commits. After all, he is a mere child who doesnt know what he wants. As soon as he gets bored of an idea, he will switch to something else. G didnt wanna mess around with someones passing phase
Thus as they chatted, G shopped and soon got all the items he needed, so his next spot was the check out so he can pay all the things he bought. Ah, there was quite the line. How annoying 5 people before him. Nothing he can do but wait. At least Shiloh was here making things more fun and interesting. But G wondered what would come next after they did their shopping. Where will the orphan bat go?

dine and dash THE BAT GREW SULLEN WHEN Gilbert’s response about what heroes were was not quite what he expected. His ears drooped slightly. You had to study to be hero? Shiloh was not very good at studying—in fact, it was a well-known fact amongst his former classmates that the boy was a bit of a dullard. Couldn’t read, couldn’t write. Of course, that was because he couldn’t see, but they didn’t know that.
To make matters worse, heroes needed to be strong. Shiloh wasn’t very strong, either.
“Oh,” the boy sighed, clearly dispirited. Gilbert tried to keep the spirits up by offering to help him, and the fickle child shook his head. Apparently this phase was more fleeting than either of them had initially suspected—
“I’m not very good at school,” the child admitted, “And I’m too small to be strong. But… maybe I’ll grow to be as big as Papa, though! Papa started out small like me, but then he grew very big! Bigger than you!”
The rest of the shopping trip passed in relative normalcy, with periodic stops at different displays, until the cart was rather full from all of the groceries Gilbert had grabbed. Shilohs’ wings butted against the boxes and bags of goods within the cart’s basket.
The faint, rhythmic *beep* of the scanners along the front of the store grew louder, and the cart came to a rest. They were getting in-line to checkout. The child turned his head, and one ear, to confirm—there were other people nearby, neatly lined-up in a row.
The obvious question niggled at the child’s mind, as well—what next? He’d only just been dumped at the orphanage, and this was the first person he’d encountered, who had showed him the smallest bit of kindness—how could he get out of this?
How could he avoid being sent to that wretched, wrought-iron place?
No responsible adult would let him just… waltz away. The child would tuck his head as he thought, his undulating legs settling to a standstill.

G patted the boys head as he seemed down. He hated to see the bat boy sad, but he felt it was his duty to tell him the truth. Being a hero was not something easy and fun. Although, he wondered how to make the boy happy. What if G told him a white lie? Depends. It all depends if that said white lie would make the boy happy again
For now they waited at a line at check out. Shiloh spoke how he is not good at school and he is too small to be strong. But maybe he will grow up and be big. Saying his papa was bigger. G chuckled "Oh! Is that so? Well then I just have to be bigger!"
The line slowly went. And eventually the two got to checkout. Once the stuff was checked out and put in bags, G paid for the food. He then helped Shiloh out of the shopping cart and gave him his fruit.
He then offered the boy his hand to hold. So they can leave the store together. Well, whether Shiloh did it or not, they left the store. And G looked around. Once he saw that there was no one to see him, he summoned Goliath "Here, hold the groceries. Theres no way Im gonna hold this on my own" G told his summon and gave him the groceries.
He then turned to Shiloh and crouched to they can see eye to eye
"You said you dont have a home to go to, right?" he asked just to confirm. He already sent one boy in an orphanage. He doesnt want to do that to another. So what will he do?

dine and dash GILBERT INSISTED THAT HE WOULD simply have to grow taller than Shiloh’s dad, and the bat let out a delighted shriek of laughter, shaking his head.
“That’s impossible!” Shiloh insisted, “Papa is the tallest man ever!”
The bat watched as the man checked-out, looking bashfully at the cashier as she and Gilbert completed the transaction. He didn’t understand a word of their exchange… something he would need to work-on, if he hoped to stay on the streets. A kid would likely raise suspicion—but a kid who didn’t know the native language was even more suspicious.
As they left, Gilbert was suddenly, and unexpectedly, joined by a massive, inhuman creature. One moment, the space it occupied was open—and the next, Shiloh’s echolocation was reverberating off of a very large obstacle. The child let out a startled squeal, scrambling out of the seat he’d occupied and picking clumsily over the groceries. An attacker? An oncoming car?!
He was so alarmed by Goliath’s sudden appearance, it took the child a moment to realize that Gilbert was talking to him. Clumsily, Shiloh clambered the rest of the way out of the cart. Once on the ground, he hid somewhat behind, and below, the cart, hopefully where Goliath couldn’t see him.
“I have a home,” the child said, his voice very small. Maybe Gilbert wasn’t actually a good man, but a bad man—and if he found-out that Shiloh had no home, he’d take him away. Maybe the mandarins were a ruse, “M-my mom and I live outside.”
He couldn’t bring himself to say that “he and his dad” lived outside, because the pain of losing his dad was still raw. But Shiloh had never known his Mom, so the lie was a lot easier.
“It’s just… hard to get food sometimes…” Shiloh persisted, keeping his head tucked, “That is why… why I was stealing the apples.”
Another pause. What if Gilbert didn’t believe him? Why wouldn’t Shiloh’s mom steal the apples?
“I just wanted to help her.”

G chuckled and when Shiloh said that its impossible because his Papa is the tallest man ever. God it was so cute. He couldnt wait until Kai was of that age. G soon did the checkout, paid the bill and handed Shiloh his fruit that he desired. As they left the store together G summoned and Goliath to carry the groceries. What he didnt account for which he should've in hindsight was that Shiloh was a child and scared of the bg scary bug. That startled squeal was a bit heartbreaking "Shiloh! Shiloh! Calm down" he said as he held the small child to calm him. "Dont worry. That big scary bug is just my Quirk in action... Im... not really a hero, so I cant use my Quirk for much other then groceries or self defence" which was a big fat lie and he shouldnt use his Quirk in any way since he's no pro. But G reeeaallly doesnt care.
He asked Shiloh about his home. But then the boy said that he does. But it was hard to get food sometimes. So thats why he stole. G sighed "Is there any way I can help you? Escort you home safely? Or help get more food? Anything. Can I help you?" he asked

dine and dash THE MINUSCULE BAT HAD BEEN CLINGING to the tire of Gilbert’s car while the man spoke, his head tucked against the wheel-well and his heart hammering against his ribs. He folded his ears back and closed his eyes, totally shutting-out the information of the outside world. Shiloh’s explanation of his situation had been uttered quickly, the fear tangible, and Gilbert picked-up on that, speaking reassuringly. The bat felt a hand on his back as the man explained that the bug was his bug. His quirk.
The child looked over his shoulder, a small frown crossing his muzzle. How could an entire creature be someone’s Quirk?
“I don’t like it,” Shiloh insisted quietly, so that the giant bug couldn’t hear him, “It scared me.”
Not that the bug “was scary” but it “had scared him”. Big difference.
Thankfully, the little white lie about being homeless, and with his mother, seemed to work—Gilbert sighed, asking if there was any way that he could help.
“M-mama would probably be mad if you followed me back,” Shiloh explained timidly, “Especially if she found out that you c- that I was caught stealing.”
Even a child knew that stealing was inherently bad. He rubbed his muzzle with his clawed hand, dropping his gaze, “Maybe… some other time… we could eat mandarins together?”

Shiloh scared said how he doesnt like it and how it scares him. G hugs the lil bat boy "I'm so sorry." he wanted to offer Shiloh a bit of reassurance and safety. Goliath didnt do much other than carry G's groceries. He looked in Shilohs direction, but seeing the fear in the boy, Goliath took a step or rather two steps back.
G meanwhile understood Shilohs fear. Goliath was a scary quirk to people. Unpleasant huge burly bug monster. Many people dreaded his Quirk, not just villains, but civilians as well. G considered his Quirk villanous. The ability to command a monster. He shook his head and looked at Shiloh. The little one spoke his mama be mad if he followed Shiloh back. He did look sad, but he remebered one time he did a good deed in saving a lost child only for the parents to get mad at him. Shilohs line reminded him of that. G slowly let go of the little bat and backed away from him "Ok" he said in a more sadder tone "You go on to mama and be careful" he told him. He looked when the boy said that next time they can eat mandarins together. G gave him a one last pat on the head "Ok." he said in a soft voice. G then got up and backed away a bit from Shiloh. Giving him space so he can go. He would just watch Shiloh where he'd go. But he wouldnt follow the boy. Still... this just left a poor taste in his mouth
