THE DEMOCRATIC PROJECT The Democratic Project is based on the values of the European Union and therefore a project launch to help certain countries to be able to reach those values and be able to return as a full fled member of the European Union. The project was set up because of the illiberal actions of the lands quite some time ago, the project was first discussed in 2022 hoping that the future changing of the government would help the countries instead of considering to kick the countries out by letting go of the right to Veto. This change of voting was not changed and the veto right remained intact. The governments of the countries within the Democratic Project understood that there needed to be changes and thus the project launched after debating how the project would be handled and how it would be launched. In 2035 the project first started but only with smaller regions before it would be really linked to the nations. One of the regions was Kosovo, one of the rebelling regions of Serbia and since 2041 the region became its own state and acknowledged by all the member-states within the European Union and countries outside. Since 2043 Kosovo is done with the project as one of the most flourishing new member of the European Union. The project picked up after the well received system of Kosovo and other smaller regions. The project thus started to pick up on bigger countries and with the wiggle room that was needed to let the governments of said countries see the help that the project could offer, the project started to work on the countries of Hungary, Poland and Greece. All had different results and are still in the project. The set up for the nations took a bit longer after the release of Kosovo. First projects were launched before letting the countries within the system, this was to be able to link the right government and right help to the nations and be able to focus on the culture, history and economy of the specific country. The project links another economic solid and democratic government to the illiberal government that forms as a higher ranked government and support of what the national government is doing to push them into the right routes of upholding the values of the European Union and readjust the national government to fix the mistakes from before. The Government of Hungary was linked to the Government of Austria. The Government of Poland was linked to the Government of Germany. The Government of Greece was linked to the Government of Croatia. |

HUNGARY
It is no secret that since the 2020s Hungary has struggled with staying within the European Union. The Union picked up a new project, focused on the Quirks and the country seemed to fall only further from the prospects that the continent expected of it. This means however that the country when finally overcoming its illiberal democratic government and its corrupt government it tried to pick it back up. The belief of the citizens in their own country was still very low and the countries ministers pleaded for help with the European Union. It wanted their rights of voting back, their financial help to kick back into gear when it came to battle the issues of the country and being able to support the social system that their citizens deserved.
The solution from the European Union was to make a combination with one of the most democratic countries now within the European Union and one that understands the history and thus the culture of the Hungarians. The government is under a strict review of the Austrian Government. The Austrian Government and the European Union set up a temporary double government of Austrians that moved to the capital of Hungary in Budapest to help the citizens and government to pick up their countries, within the ruling of the European Union.
Hungary has now been in this project for 5 years, meaning it recently swapped Government seats and is showing quite a big progress when it comes to the democratic standards of the European Union. The country, unfortunately, is not open to heroes and is quite strict to vigilantism because it tries to figure out if their systems work again. The police system can't work if Vigilantes keep showing up. The system is still slow and might take another ten years before it is all caught up and ready to accept Heroes within the system. Hungarian citizens are allowed to study at the hero school in Germany but there is no place for them to work as a hero in Hungary, so it depends if it is worth their time.
Crime is still high in Hungary, mostly petty crime, people trying to get food and money to survive the harsh country. The country is quite strict when it comes to money and laws, this because it basically has to rebuild all the years that it had been part of the democracy status. The country is renewing the social securities with the Austrian system and the Governmental system, meaning everyone gets support but the money is minimum. There are barely any jobs at the moment, many people used their freedom of movement within the European Union to flee the harsh situation of the country. It is the Austrian Government and the European Union that provides money to make sure the people have food, but the money is scarce and the Hungarian government tries to fix this and have programs to support people for getting jobs within the countries.

POLAND
Another country within the Democratic Project is Poland, the country failed to keep up with the democratic necessities that the European Union asks of their member states. The changes within the European Union went too fast for Poland to keep up with, it tried to avoid getting the help from the other member states but eventually accepted that if they wanted to stay within the European Union and pick a country that could help them. Like Hungary, the country got a second government surveying and helping the Polish Government, in this case it is the country of Germany doing so. Germany forms a second government above the Polish Government. Even though Germany is one of the biggest influences in European Union's politics it has quite some difficulty with Poland. The focus for the country might also be slightly distant until the EU had to push Germany to hold a stricter leash on the country. The whole judicial system and the executing system had to change.
To be able to form the separation of the legislative, judicial and executive power within the country. The country flourished a little more considering the money system and the jobs. Polish people seemed to rather want to stay within the borders of Poland to try and rebuild their country themselves, the nationality of the country is rather big and this helps in the rebuilding system. For three year now the country seems to be going on a steady flow and the European Union together with the German Government hopes that after five years the prospect could be done. The Project will not stop when the country succeeds but it will lessen its influence to see that the country can pick up itself. The biggest focus is on the fixing of the judicial system.
Because the judicial system is still up and running and being fixed because of previous corruption, there is no concrete system for heroes, the country is working on it to be ready to open up a hand full of spots for professional heroes once the hero school is done. This will most likely be a few German heroes to help them guide the system as well as the German Government to help the Polish Government out. The difference between why Poland works better than Hungary is because the population remains and thus the money in the country keeps flowing and helps the system itself. It is definitely not one of the rich Western countries but it is on the right path of going there.

GREECE
The country of Greece was one of the difficult ones to start for the project and it therefore started quite late compared to the other countries. Greece has been in a form of a standstill with the European Union since 2040. The country could no longer save itself from the money issue and the corrupt government pushed the country to even vote for the idea of leaving the European Union. When the country heard about the deficit that they would get and the extra money issues to pay a fine to the European Union.
The situation got worse and the citizens of Greece lost faith in the country, which was one of the reasons why the government accepted the Democratic Project to fight the corruption and the fallen economy. The project will help Greece for quite some while into the future because the country has a lot of debts across the European continent. The project linked Greece to the government of Croatia. Who introduced new jobs across the country of Greece and helped the country change the style of working hours and the form of tourism that Croatia is known for and working hard for. The countries starts were not so different, which is why the European Union picked a country that wasn't directly next to the borders of Greece. Croatia has been helped rebuilding Greece and they even bought back some of the harbors that Greece had to sell before 2020.
The prevent Greece from becoming an empty country, the borders in a way had to be closed, the warning for Greece was covered up with a warning for the idea of leaving the European Union, a ban on the freedom of movement and services was there for a seven years. The people of Greece could not get somewhere else with the right papers. This meant many people stayed and could see the changes into the government and economy of Greece within these seven years. Which saved the country from becoming empty and helped for the country to rebuild their economy. Greece has no hero system, it is not possible for outside heroes to come there to work. There are quite some vigilantes who think they can make Greece better, at the moment it isn't one of Greece their first priorities as long as nothing extremes happen they turn a blind eye to the help that the vigilantes provide illegally.
