Rowan rolled her eyes, "It might not be cheating but I thought Jousts were on the ground you know." She mumbled as her plan of attack also failed, well at least the damage of her bouncing balls got against the dragon boy. She did have to say the quirk was impressive and all but what to do with the rest. There was so much to be doing and she couldn't keep throwing bouncing balls at them. Or she could, her eyes scanned the construction, it didn't seem like firework boy was hanging in there really comfortable, just only holding on with his hands. "It would be such a shame to have a firework in your face." She mumbled more to herself then Haruuhi or Miku. They remained on the same spot and hopefully if they did anything they would be walking backwards. She whispered to Haruuhi that whatever they were doing not to go forward as her timer could go off any minute. She tried to extend it a little as to not give away how it worked with the microchips she had tossed a little further.
Rowan took two bouncing balls, one in each hand, but as her left arm held on to Miku, she only kept it for quick and ease. She quickly tossed her first bouncing ball to Ren, trying to aim for his face with the first one and with the second one that quickly followed she tossed at his arms, now time for a party and hoping it worked. "We need a strategy and we need it quickly." Normally she wouldn't be so slow when it came to it but she had seriously zero ideas how to joust to someone that was airborne and all she could think of was breaking the knights apart or was that the horse, she didn't understand the terminology.

What they'd thought to be their ace in the whole rapidly became the group's undoing to an extent as the UA team suddenly seemed to find a primary target. With a robo dog suddenly latching onto his enlarged, draconic features, and a tiny plant dragon going for his eyes, Zhao was left reeling back with a soft groan of pain. The two attackers weren't immensely offensive in nature, the pain wasn't that bad, but having two creatures like this striking at your face while your arms couldn't reach it wasn't a pleasant experience.
"Gagh! W-what kind of hero goes for the eyes!" Behind the tough scales of his eyelids he was still protected but ultimately blinded by the attack. Cheng was too far on his back to reach either and fireworks Ren was too busy hanging from his hind legs to actually do much himself.
"Don't worry I got it!" Cheng called out, grabbing a discus from his supplies. He tossed it into the air and slapped it with his palm, the disc suddenly flying on a curve around the front of Zhao's face and striking the plant dragon in the side, at least leaving his eyes open, but with the viscious robo dog still on the offensive Cheng was still left squirming in the air, writhing viciously as he tried to shake it loose.
"Get a hold of yourself before they-!" Ren began to yell out before an explosion came his way, a sudden burst of energy close to his face, coupled with the writhing of his joint mount meant he was dislodged from the dragon as a whole, and before he could get his barings as he fell he heard the announcer call out-
"THATS A FALL!"
"God dammit...!" He cursed through grit teeth. As he fell he aimed one of his feet skyward, a burst of flame from his ankle and his foot launched like a firework, blasting the robo-dog off of Zhao's face so it wouldn't be a further annoyance to the team. Zhao, freed of his attackers, quickly tried to compensate, rushing down to catch Ren by the arms in his fore-legs this time, sighing deeply.
"I am sorry friends I-"
"Can it." Cheng yelled out from the back. He dragged his hands across Zhao's back, the dragon yelling as Cheng's quirk worked it's magic on his scales. Tens of them reared back from the dragon's body, ripped out of place by the spinning force of Cheng's quirk, before curving in the air and raining down on the UA party like a hailstorm of daggers. "Let's just catch up before the third turn!"

- Stays still as instructed by Rowan. - Robodog falls off of Dragonboi, Haruuhi then uses a radiowave blast to soften his landing on the ground. robodog then uses the barrier between the teams to avoid the dragonscales. -Haruuhi calls out to Miku to make another shield to protect them from the scales, then for them to hurry and finish this pass.

Well her dragon is pretty much off of the chinese boy. They also got rid of Robodog which Haruuhi saved. For a second they thought they were gonna get a point since one of the boys fell. But alas he was caught. But now with that charade done, it was time for the chinese to counter attack something fierce "Uh oh" Miku said and quickly threw a seed and grew a big tree to shield em from the initial attacks. But now they kind of were stuck, they needed to get away from here or else the boys will once again get rid of her tree. She took more seeds and threw em away. She grew them into vines that formed a tunnel, an archway. She wasnt sure how much this will protect them, but it would offer them the cover of stealth. But all this plant stuff made Miku tired and dehydrated. She needed to rest "Now its all up to you" to finish this round. But Miku couldnt finish the sentence as she was too dehydrated and her voice was raspy and barely audible. She had a lil bottle of water to rejuvinate her, but now was not the time to drink

Hehe, her tactics had worked and she kind of looked smug. That was before they needed to continue and she should not forget the game wasn't over even if they had made one winning round. Shooooot! What to do! She watched the tree, she held on to Miku's leg with her left arm and took two bouncing balls in her right hand. But not yet, nothing to do and she looked at Haruuhi and nodded. When the archway was made they would have to quickly move through it. But than something popped in Rowan's mind, no wait. If you made an archway, everyone expected you to get out on the side that you ran through. "Wait," She whispered to Haruuhi, "They expect us there, we have to wait in the middle or something alike and go back the way we came." Because no one expected you to show up where you had begon, especially not as the archway there got already hit by some of the scales. She looked up at Miku, creating something like this must be hard and she wanted to hold on to her and comfort her but her hand was already turning hot. Luckily not in the sense that happened last December but just the sense of her using her power.
When they were done waiting, she would peak through the archway as best as she could to take the other exit and sling the two bouncing balls towards the dragon and his companions. Again aiming for his claws to hopefully throw Ren off another time. But she expected them to see her tactic coming as it was the same as before. She needed to get to another strategy and she needed to do so quickly. But there was nothing yet in her mind and she looked at Haruuhi, "Any plans still?"

The Chinese team had already lost one point and they were starting to grow annoyed. The plan they'd hoped would be their ace in the hole had been turned against them by the other team's pets blinding their dragon mount and landing a pretty coordinated attack. While Zhao made an incredible mount for this situation, and his allies both had great options for attacking long range, it really didn't do much for them when all of the other team had options to attack in unison like that, and with extra hands to boot.
"We need to turn the tides here somehow..." Zhao muttered in a draconic breath, starting to flow past the tree that had absorbed the scale attack, glaring at it with some annoyance as the UA team rushed through it.
"Don't worry. We just need to take a page out of there book... Ren you ready to start a forest fire?~" Cheng smirked down at the companion being held by his arms.
Ren needed a second to click with what was happening, but quickly nodded, angling one of his remaining legs towards the base of the tree from the front, Cheng careful not to let the UA team hear as he whispered his plan. With his quirk he could curve his shots, so dragging a handful more scales from the back of his dragon ride here, he decided to put that aspect of his quirk to use.
Ultimately, Zhao continued, ready to finish the lap and barrelling past the tree just as Red fired off a short, a burst of sparking flames igniting the viney base of the tree that lay infront of the UA kids. Now the rules didn't say they just had to run through fire of course, they could back up and go around the tree once they were sure it was safe. They were a point up afterall so they just had to wait it out and they'd win.
But, if they thought to look back, the scales Cheng had ripped from his companion would be at their tail. A fresh batch of projectiles cutting through the air. Cheng had initially thrown them past the tree, but curving them with his quirk they came in from behind like boomerangs, funnelling through the viney gap, with fire to the team's front and sharp scales barrelling in from behind, all the while Zhao rushing past the tree, giving Rowan a long, easily avoided shot to take when she finally left, and leaving the teams about to set up for the 3rd and final run, where the Chinese team needed to close the gap.

All things considered, this pass was going pretty well. They were pressing the Chinese kids pretty hard, and had already managed to amass a point by knocking one of the boys off of their draconic mount. they probably didn't expect it, but Haruuhi had a little bit of experience with Dragons thanks to Jack. The boy talked a lot, and Haruuhi had managed to learn a lot about his particular type of dragon. Whether or not it applied to all of them though was a totally different story.
"Good job Miku! This is perfect, we can easily just run to the end and-" She paused when Rowan suggested going back the way that they came as their enemies wouldn't expect it. Honestly, if this were any other type of match she would agree. Then they could freely go about where they wanted, but this was a joust, meaning that they could only go the one way if they wanted to win. They were already one point ahead, so they only had to keep that advantage right?
"I think we need to keep moving forward, Rowan. We have Miku's arch to protect us long enough to get there. We're one point up, so as long as no one falls, we'll win this thing. Let's finish the pass, and try to just make it back through the arch for the ne-" Son of a... could she stop getting interrupted? As she attempted to guide the team forward, holding on tightly to Miku to make sure the exhausted girl didn't fall off, she found the smell of smoke soon filling her nostrils. Haruuhi's eyes squinted as she saw the smoke starting to pillow from the tree arch ahead of them... They couldn't go back though, they couldn't. That was the equivalent of forfeiting! She did chance a glance behind them though and found that something was coming right for them! Crap!
"Run towards the fire! Trust me!" Haruuhi called out to her team mate, reaching into her pocket to retrieve two items. She waited only a moment for Rowan to acknowledge her decision before booking it towards the flames, keeping ahead of the scales coming at them from behind. As they got close to the fire, Haruuhi threw down both items she had in her hand. One smoke bomb, and one Microchip. The microchip would suddenly burst an invisible current (EMP) that would cause the flames to shift for barely a moment like they were being blown away, while the smokescreen erupted and covered their movements.
Haruuhi then wrapped her arm tightly around Rowan, holding onto Miku tightly as she shifted her stance to be just a little bit behind Rowan as they ran.
*thunk thunk thunk*
The three girls would come barreling through the flames and the smoke of the smokescreen to reach the end of their pass. However, it wasn't completely unscathed. Three of the scales had found their mark in Haruuhi, one impaling her back, one impaling the back of her right leg, and one impaling her left forearm. Haruuhi was biting her lower lip hard, trying not to cry out when the scales hit her, trying to bite through the pain so that they could make it to the end. If they did make it, Haruuhi would try to shift Mikus weight over to Rowan as Haruu found her leg buckling out from under her.
She hoped Rowan was able to hold onto Miku as Haruuhi found herself suddenly on all fours, panting heavily as she grit her teeth to get past the pain of the projectiles in her.
'Gadian...' She sent out her silent instructions to her companion who came charging towards the group from the top of the burning archway. He leaped down next to Haruuhi and then used his metallic jaw to pull the scales out of her body, causing the girl to gasp loudly and clench her fist.
"Sorry... here" She murmured to the other two girls, waiting for Gadian to be done before pushing herself back up to her feet. She was still bleeding from the wounds of the scales, but none the less... they still had one pass to make... She had to finish this. She went right back to help Rowan when she paused suddenly. She glanced up to the announcer, hacking his headset remotely with her quirk.
'Hey Mr Announcer guy, this is Haruuhi, Can I have our rider be put on my robotic dog? Is that within the rules?' She asked him quietly through her quirk.
"What?! What's this? It looks like the U.A girl Haruuhi's quirk does go a long way! That's an interesting question kid, there's nothing in the rules that says you can't! But as this is a joust, the two horsemen need to remain in contact at all times!" The announcer said out loud into the microphone, no doubt causing quite a bit of confusion to those listening to the broadcast. Haruuhi smirked as she then instructed Gadian in front of her and Rowan, and helped the other girl lower Miku onto Gadian's back.
"Don't let her fall off, okay boy?" Haruuhi smiled as she then extended her hand towards Rowan for the other girl to take.
"As long as we're still holding hands, this counts. Lets get Miku safely to the other side, and take these losers down!" She stated excitedly, a large smile on her face as she was still attempting to push past the sharp pains in her back and limbs.

And they ran and ran. But the round would not be as smooth as they thought as soon Miku's vine tunnel got set on fire. And one section infrnt of them was completely engulfed in flames. Haruuhi suggested they march through the flame. Miku was so speechless she didnt even get to scream a WHAT, before they were on their way. Miku shielded her face and anything that could count as vitals. She didnt know what was going on, but she heard the sounds of a smokebomb and an EMP, granted she didnt know what it was. She felt the burning flames, but it wasnt as bad as she thought. Yes the burns hurt, but it looked like something happened that lessened the flames. It was the unsung hero Haruuhi.
Miku unshielded her face to look, only to be greeted by sharp scale attacks 3 scales grazed her. She was lucky, it was 3 narrow misses. They didnt stab her, but they did cut her left arm, her left leg and her side. But alas Haruuhi was not as lucky when it came to that. She got hit real hard "Haruuhi!" Miku called out worridly to her comrade... no... her SISTER. But her voice was too raspy and she wasnt even sure if anyone heard her. She was already dehydrated and the fire did not help the situation. And she doubted a bottle of water would do.
They reached the end of their pass and Haruuhi called Robodog. Mikuu wasnt sure what to do, but it seemed a change of plans was put in place and she was sat on Gadian. Miku used this chance to look through her scorched fanny pack. Oh no. Most of her seeds her flambe. And her small bottle of water was pretty warm. To get some energy back, she did drink all of it. Bleh, warm water was so nasty to drink. It was like drinking P. Nevertheless hydration was needed to she can use her Quirk. In this case to puppet her Woodland Dragon back to them. Her companion was not sentient like robodog was. It was a construct that needed to be puppeted and controlled, otherwise it'd be left in statis unmobile. Now that that was done, Miku hugged Robodogs neck and held onto him dearly.

Rowan looked just simply grumpy, it was her resting bitch face. She was trying to think. She simply did not agree with Haruuhi's strategy but she could not deny it either. She had to do something after all and she nodded, well at least they had a goal. She did not like the fire, she would not tell the girl next to her I told you so, because still her goal was on that side and Haruuhi seemed to have an idea. She looked over her shoulder and threw a marble to blow up some scales but she felt her hand heating up and she could not have that when she had to hold on to Miku and Haruuhi. She could not burn her friends when she was working with them. Right, she had to be careful, she was reaching her limit, it was stupid.
She had to stop herself from swearing when the scale hit her at the back of her leg, quite high and she almost tumbled forward when they went through the fire. She knew how to grit her teeth and step quick with her left leg so not to fall and hopefully the others did not notice. When they got out, she noticed she lost her marbles... in the literal sense. The scale must have catch the bag and they had dropped out, she had not heard because of the attacks Haruuhi had given and she cursed. Well for now it would be fine, she still had the bouncing balls. Which she used when they got out of the archway but Zhao must have expected it and gotten away. All to distract as from the corner of her eyes she tried to see how Haruuhi was doing and she held on to Miku to make sure she would not fall. She said nothing, she tried to make sure that she was doing fine and not bother them. "We need to be quick, my hands are heating up." Muttering she looked at the others when Haruuhi explained her further plan, it saved much for Rowan, she had no need to hold on to Miku with most of her body, and she looked at their hands holding, extending the other to the blonde's shoulder. "Let me know if I have to let go, I am sorry girls." She could not make it any nicer than it was. It was just the use of her quirk this way. But she would quickly follow up with Haruuhi her plan. To reach the end and fight back.
It was an awkward run if you asked her but they were going to do fine.

The Chinese team wouldn’t admit it… well, one of them wouldn’t admit it, but the UA team’s tenacity was definitely starting to get under their skin. What seemed like a surefire way to bottleneck them into a tight situation through their own fault had barely managed to come through with an advantage for them. Sure, even from this distance it was clear the girls hadn’t gotten out unscathed but it wasn’t a win for them. They were still one point behind and with some clever tactical manuvering they’d managed to get Miku on their little companion without fully losing contact with eachother… still. In breaking one part of the horse-knight set, they’d be back on even playing field. Question was could they do that twice in a single pass.
“UA tends to play so high and mighty… so long as we tie-“
Zhao had begun to argue, but for Red to quickly interrupt.
“Zhao don’t even think about taking it easy on them. If we can get back on the same playing field we’re taking it all on them… the two girls making the horse seem to be their weakest link right now so-“
Cheng filled in next, pounding a palm into his fist. “We take them out and we’re back on top.”
“We’re back on a level playing field…” Ren corrected, eyes narrowing as he looked down to his own legs. He had nothing below the knee now but that didn’t mean he was out of ammunition. So long as anything beyond the torso remained and Zhao kept a good hold on him, they’d be fine. “While we have time. Zhao, my shoulders…”
The dragon nodded, making sure they always had at least one point of contact as he re-latched himself onto Ren’s shoulders rather than locking hands with him. Ren was briefly showing a slither of pain thanks to the dragon claws digging in but he didn’t make a big deal of it, calling out where Zhao once seemed to take the lead. “CHARGE!”
They acted fast as the new pass began, Zhao rushing forward with the speed and elegance of a chinese dragon as he slithered through the air like a snake gliding atop water. Cheng dragged his hands against the scales of his back again, starting to run out of ammunition directly infront of him. Of course he just needed to shift to get more but Zhao was really feeling on edge from the cool wind whipping against the exposed skin of his scaleless bald patch, raw nerves tickled by the rushing wind.
“Hold!” Ren called out, knowing Cheng would be eager. He whipped his body upwards and swung the stumps of his legs till only his hips remained, his thighs splitting into Catherine wheel like fireworks, swirling through the air, spraying sparks in the faces of the UA kids in an attempt to blind them as before. “NOW!”
Cheng reacted quickly, tossing out another barrage of swirling scales. He came in from a high angle though, purposely trying to rush over the head of Miku, and take down the more damaged ‘horse’ directly. Zhao however was rushing a bit too fast, this would be a fast pass and he was hoping if they could manage a tie, he’d manage to finish the pass before the girls could get the advantage again. They just needed that point…!

TLDR: - Haruuhi reassures Miku that she's going to be okay, and to stick to the new plan. Then tells Rowan they just need to run like hell, and not even bother to hit the enemy, so she should let her quirk cool off a little bit. - Drops of blood start coming from haruuhi's nose to emphasize quirk overuse. - Soon as they're ready for the next pass, she orders robodog to run like the fckn wind to have Miku reach the other side first. - Haruuhi is in ++ pain from the scale stabs, but puts on an air of being okay. When robodog takes off, she hold onto Rowan tightly and runs forward, trying to run past the boys, almost like she's ignoring them. - When the flash goes off, haruuhi winces, but the tinted visor makes the fireworks to the face not as bad as it could have been. Tugs on rowans arm to keep her moving if she's blinded.

Miku closes her eyes and covers her head, shielding it as much as she can as they make the final pass. Due to the eyes closing and head covering, she sees nothing and thus she is at the mercy of sound. Whatever she hears. She was afraid to look. She was not even sure if she can help them at this point. She felt useless. Yes, they were all at an end. Rowan and Haruuhi were probably overused as well. Miku wished she could do more. But she was afraid. Afraid of everything. Harm, pain, overusing her quirk and blacking out, making a mistake. She was afraid. She didnt wanna do anything but cower in fear. She was not gonna do anything unless told by Rowan or Haruuhi. She didnt wanna wreck their flow.
She cursed herself for being useless. She thought she'd be of use more. Making a root and making her opposing team trip and fall, but these guys had a dragon to fly on. Thus nullifying all her power over terrain. Her moment of shine robbed. She would never shine like the others. And she only became a burden to both Rowan and Haruuhi. She felt like a useless failiure. How can they do this

There was something they should be able to do, but damn those scales in her shoulder was horrible and she wanted to do something but she did not know-how. All she knew was that she was holding on and running as fast as her legs could carry her while holding on to the others, this was stupid and ridiculous. They were running while they were trying to win, if they could win this pass, they were going to win the game and she felt that it was ridiculous to try and give up, even though her hands were already hot, she would not give up. But she was blinded by the firework. She felt that Haruuhi kept pulling on her and just kept on running, "You need to tell me where to aim. Fuck it I will throw everything I have left. Just hold on to my side and not my arms." She would first follow, they would pass before she slipped to a halt and turned half her body, with the instructions and the hope of her explosion being big enough she took the four remaining bouncing balls she had and threw the first two with a slow timer before throwing the last two, if the last two would explode they would trigger the timer of the first two, hitting a bigger part. She had aimed for Cheng on top with Haruuhi's instructions, as her eyes were watery and hitting of her aim, making sure she hit slightly to a side to make sure the alteration of her aim for Cheng would be bigger, she tried to aim higher that if she missed and it meant she would be dropping, she would try to hit Ren and Zhao with at least something of her fire power.
But after that Rowan quickly followed again, telling the girls again not to hold on to her hands but to her legs or to the parts of her hero-outfit, like the belt and shoulder pads, else they would get a nasty burn from her own hands.

The fireworks seemed to have blinded their opposition but with the pace both teams were moving the scales had slipped through the fireworks and a majority managed to miss their mark, leading to Cheng cursing under his breath at his poor aim. Both parties passed eachother, and Chen was left clutching the raw, scaleless skin of his classmates back, struggling to stay on as a barrage of explosions, mis-aimed, but still generally in his vicinity, went off around him, struggling to stay on and watching with frustration as the other team started to rush to the end point.
"They're one point ahead! We need to turn around and try and knock them down!" He called out with frustration, but even with Ren's desire to win burning as strongly, the more educated classmate could only sigh with defeat as he hung below the dragon.
"It's a joust. We have to keep moving. We can't turn about mid run for a cheap attack those are the rules."
Zhao let out a puff of smoke from his draconic nostrils and sighed in turn. "He's right. We lost. It is best we accept this and learn from it. Clearly a mechanically effective team is not all it takes to-!"
"UUUUGH SHUT UP WITH THE LECTURES!" Cheng growled out. "Fine if we can't turn around I'm at least getting a last shot!"
He slapped his hand down on the back of the dragon beneath him... but thanks to all the ammunition he'd already used he found no scales. His hand slapped directly into Zhaos' bare back, and the spinning effect of his quirk channelled directly into his classmate. With a churning sensation centered in his spine the spindly dragon suddenly began to chase it's own tale, tumbling towards the ground and reverting to human form, the 3 Chinese students left heavily dizzied by the events, groaning as they leaned into eachother in a clunky mess of limbs from the crash.
"WHAAAAAAAAT!?" Called out the announcer from this confusing turn of events, watching as the Chinese group effectively gave themselves an even greater loss through Ren's frustration. "It seems UA is up by not 1, but 2 points! I don't know what happened but a fumble from the Chinese team has lead to one hell of an upset as they granted UA an even stronger win! With only a short distance left UA is all but officially declared the victor of Englands first ever quirrrrrrk Joustiiiiing!~"
