Cheng - forced to enroll, cares about the benefits not hero work itselfZhao - huge chinese pride, model citizenRen - Top student, looks down his nose at lesser classmates"Remind me again why the flunkie is the one riding atop?"In the waiting room for the event it seemed the chinese students were not having the easiest time finding a cohesive unit between them. While plans had been formed the top scoring student of the bunch, Ren, was not so happy with the conclusions they had came to. As far as he was concerned, he, the best representative the school had, should be front and center. He fully recognized the tactical benefits of their current plan but to put the flunkie of all people on top... ugh. It almost disgusted him to his core to even consider, grinding his teeth in the mere second he waited for a reply. "Oh come now Ren don't be such a meiser. You know with his quirk he'd our best rider. Deflecting projectiles, adding spin to our own, he'd be a great rider! Besides, with you constantly losing digits how can we expect you to hold on?~"Zhao reinforced their plan with a constant bright smile. He certainly wanted the chinese school to leave this event having left a good mark and beating the most prominent hero school in the world, the first of it's kind, would do wonders for their own school's, nay, their countries reputation among the others. He pumped his fist into the air and struck a strong pose of pride in his plan. "With this we shall certainly win! Even though Jousting is an english tradition we Chinese have always-!""Ugh. Save it."The final of the trio, Cheng, pushed his hand over Zhao's mouth before he could give them all some annoying lecture, groaning as he lurched towards the gate with tired, sagging eyes as he made his way towards the battlefield ahead of them, sighing deeply as he did so. Even if he was going to be the one riding atop the pile, and while that did feel him with SOME unearned pride in the tactical position, that didn't mean he had to pretend to play nice with his classmates. "Let's just get this over with so we can knock some heads in that tournament that's coming up. I mean what girls are gonna wanna get with us if we win 'jousting' of all things?"
"Alright young heroes let's get read for today's next event! Humaaaaaaan joustiiiiiing!~" The three Chinese students stood out onto the field from one side of the long fence seperating both sides, and the Japanese students of UA would be let out from the opposite side. No one was currently mounted yet, the glasses wearing Ren in the middle of his two classmates, adjusting his spectacles as the announcer attempted to address the crowd. The long fence the two classes would be running along seperated them now but it was easy enough to reach across and offer your hand if you so chose. Zhao was more than eager to do so with a bright smile, his classmates... less so. "A pleasure to meet you all! I hope we have a good clean match!~"

She wanted to be cocky, she wanted to show that there was no longer any fear within her. She was not afraid that she would cheat and play this game wrong as she might have done last year. She did want to win. Her eyes shortly gliding to Miku, were they fine? Were they really fine considering how her best friend thought that speaking about emotions and feelings was for weaklings? Surely they did talk after their battle but that did not make it any less weird for them to be teamed up. It would have been great, had she not fought before. It would be great to also be here with Miku's sister. But did Haruuhi hate her for the battle or was she just seeing things that weren't there? She had to let it go. The match had not started yet and Rowan closed her eyes, took a few deep breaths and out before simply clearing her mind. They spoke about it, it was just a battle organized by school and both had been honest and careful and it was fine.
"The plan is still the same right?" The moment she heard they were teaming up she had made a group text to consider a strategy, it wasn't that far before this moment but who knows, maybe either of them did not like it? She looked angry, but it was her thinking face, it wasn't very nice but the other two girls should know it by now. She felt worried and yet she tried her best to relax, and that's when she did. She only thought about one person and felt the relaxation, the happiness wash over her and she smiled finally, "I think we should go, we will be fine." With Haruuhi's quirk, Miku's and their own they were a fine combination. So that was the best they could do for now. She hoped she might get a glimpse of him in the crowd though, cheering her on.
When they appeared on the other side of the fence she looked them over carefully, considering they were in the finales last year, she wondered if they knew their quirks or vice versa and she simply took a step forward, the first initiative to do so when she noticed one of them extended his hand to shake, "Likewise, may the best team win." She said, casually, that was already different from last year. She vaguely remembered, also Helen surely had rubbed it in. But she wasn't here and god was Rowan happy bout that.

Oh boy. Oh boy oh boy oh boy. Miku was sooo nervous. It was like stage fright. They were gonna compete. It was her and Rowan and Haruuhi, and they were gonna face Fenghuang Academy. Miku only met one student and that was Jin, if she remembered correctly. But she was not here, only some boys. Miku was nervous. She soon looked at Rowan who asked if the plan is still the same. Miku nodded, but as she did, she noticed Rowans glance. She looked nervous but differently "We're cool" Miku told Rowan, just so she knows that they are fine. Because they were. There were no hard feelings, right? Miku then looked at Haruuhi "You ready?"After checking on Haruu and making sure everyone is prepped and ok, it was time to go. The UA trio was out and Miku saw the other 3 and she looked at them. No bueno, she had a bad feeling. One boy extended his hand to shake and Rowan was the first to approach and take his hand and shake it. Miku was glad she done that because, Miku still had this stage fright like feeling. Something she had to repress "Ok. Focus. Imagine they're something you hate. Get mad. Get pumped. You'll do this. Its not like figting Rowan. This is good" Miku thought to herself and focused

Haruuhi was glad to see that Miku and Rowan were still talking to one another. She couldn’t help but smile brightly as she saw the two of them together. Sure their speech was short and to the point, but they were just testing the waters right? After all this was just a competition, it wasn’t like the girls had any bad blood between each other right?
The red head came up between the two girls, looping her arms around both of their shoulders and bringing them both in for a bit of an awkward hug, showing them both that she was there for them.
“We’re going to do great, all of us together. The dream team if you ask me! We’ll blow them all out of the water!” She tried to reassure both girls before letting them go so that they could all walk towards the chinese students. Haruuhi then took her helmet from Robodog, who had thus far been carrying it for her, and placed it on top of her head. The translator immediately activated, so that she would be sure to catch anything the Chinese students might be saying to one another in their native tongue.
Rowan was the first to reach out and take the Chinese boy’s hand, returning the kind words. However much like Zhao’s teammates, Haruuhi and Miku weren’t so quick to take anyone’s hands.
“Let the best school win~” Haruuhi’s voices projected suddenly through the cat like ears perched on top of her helmet. She then turned back to the other girls, sucking in a deep breath as she lifted her visor so that only the girls could see her face.
“I’m limited on how much I can use Gadian… er, Robodog. He took a lot of damage in my tournament match… I was able to patch him up, but he’s not up to 100%. He’ll be a good distraction though.” Haruuhi reassured the other two girls, her heart suddenly feeling tight as nervousness really started to kick in. Her anxiety levels were rising, and she was internally screaming about her stupid decision to participate in this thing to begin with. At least here she had her sister by her side...

Zhao shook the hand of the girl Rowan who was kind enough to offer her hand across the barrier between them, but even as he turned his hand to Miku and Haruuhi it seemed neither of them were interested, his eyes opening wide in some surprise, wondering if he'd done something to insult them in this gesture or if they were just trying to keep a mental barrier between themselves and their opponents. He supposed he couldn't blame them if that was the case. It was a reasonable tactic, and he would encourage them to stick to their beliefs... of course if they just decided to be rude than he'd be rather dissapointed, but time would tell what their intent had been in refusing the shake. Ren and Feng weren't exactly any better he supposed, but all the same with introductions done, Zhao respectfully bowed his head. "Indeed. May the best school win." He chimed with a bright smile, gesturing for his allies to follow him back down the fence line to their end of the field, quieting his speech. "Now... remember. The UA kids will remember us from last year most likely, so keep your whits about you. Ren you're our ace, but we'll start off with you. The advantage you can grant us is boundless...~" His sweet, playful smile turned to something idly more sly "Sun tzu once said you should tackle your enemy with what they predict. Create patterns you can exploit... but the opportunity you present is too great to pass up...!~"================================ With both schools taking their places, the Chinese school forming a 'chariot' With Zhao in front, Feng riding, and Ren supporting from the back, the game's announcer called out once again over the microphone system. "Now ladies and gentleman! The rules are simple! The team with the most downs at the end of three charges loses! You can lose multiple points per charge!" A display showed on a screen opposite the audience, displaying the typical form of a jousting set, two people supporting a third above them. "A down is when any part of the party becomes lost from the other two, or a 'horse' falls. So long as a single point of contact remains from oen person to another, however, small, it isn't a down! Our judges will be watching the events closely so don't think you can slip even the smallest break past us!" With both teams ready, a horn was blown and without much warning the game was begun. "LET'S JOUST!" ================ "Let's go!"Charging forth, Ren and Zhao tried their best to run in unison as they supported the weight of Cheng between them, the two getting a good run up along the fence, finding eachother's pace and getting into a rhythm to make sure they would not just be their own undoing. Ren was more than a little annoyed he had to keep up from the back but they'd soon be able to turn the tides to their own advantage as their plans came to fruition. "Ready?" Ren called, looking to Cheng, who glared back down towards him. "Am I ever not?"A glare was shared between the two but Ren still reacted firmly, raising an arm after being sure Zhao could support one of Cheng's feet without him, lifting his free hand to fire off several of his fingers, sparks lighting between them and his palm as they burst out like micro-fireworks, soaring slowly at first... until they brushed against Cheng's hand. Using his own quirk, Cheng ignited a sensation of speed and chaos in the firework digits, burning forward in wild arcs as they spun like catherine wheels towards the opposing chariot, bursting into blasts of bright colors and lights before they'd even make impact, trying to blind their opponents before they met in the middle!

The fact that Miku said they were cool was not really what she wanted to know, but she shook it off. It was time to focus and she adjusted the two little bags she had to her right hip, one with marbles, one with bouncing balls. Right, this was going to be fine. Her eyes shortly looked the boys over again, she did not know much about the exact details of their quirk, she had not really seen it, though Zhao had been hard to miss on the recaps but well that did not matter. She walked back to get further away from the middle. She did not like the tactic the three used, how did you strongly hold on to a person while being back and forth, she needed her hand, "What about you sit on our shoulders, Miku, would that work the best?" She would leave it most likely to the others to decide, did the girl had any vines to wrap around their torsos to remain secured to sit down. It was an idea if possible. She put her visor down and looked at Haruuhi shortly before letting Miku climb on her. If she followed Rowan's plan she would sit on her shoulder and Rowan would hold on to her by wrapping her front arm around her shin and calf and hold her close to her chest.
They would have to do something, set up a strategy, luckily they talked a bit about that before, but maybe some details were lacking, "We need a shield." she said with a happy smile up to Miku, that was probably not how a joust party worked but this wasn't the middle ages, they fought with firework, so they could fight with, hm, no idea, a whole tree? Would work perfectly right, but they should not only defend, "We need to make an attack, else I will do it." If no one got up with something else she would follow Ren's idea and let go of Miku with her right hand to throw a bouncing ball at their opponent, but only if nothing else was decided. If they decided something else she would use Cheng's strategy and touched their joust very shortly.

After the pleasantries were exchanged it was time to rumble. Both teams went to position themselves for this joust. Rowan was the one who came up withe the tactic as she took the most initiative and asked Miku would she sit on their shoulders. Miku nodded and did so. One side on Rowans shoulder and the others on Haruuhis. Heh, they were lucky Miku was very light. Perhaps that is why they decided to carry her? Either way Miku felt she had to hold her smile becuase she loved this idea of being on top. But alas now was not the time for indulging in power fantasies. Now was the time to joust away! The horn tooted was heard and the beginning of their event has begun
Rowan spoke like a true leader with a happy smile that they needed a shield. Miku nodded and smiled as well "Roger!" she reached into her fanny pack and took out a seed, she tossed it and used her Quirk to grow a tree quickly that would take that firework attack. Now the next element was counterattack and that vital role was left up to Haruuhi and Robodog to swipe in and do the deed of attack. But in case of Robodog not being fast enough to swoop and attack, the girls discussed that it was then Rowan who would attack with her explosive bouncing ball of doom. Miku held back from shivering at that thought. She knew what was like being on the receiving end of Rowan. Not pleasant at all

Oblivious to the true extent of the feelings between them, Haruuhi just smiled nervously behind her helmet as Rowan suggested that Miku sit on top of the two. Haruuhi wasn't exactly the strongest of the three... truthfully maybe she should be up top, considering Miku might be able to strengthen herself with her quirk... Nope, no time to suggest a counter option. They had made a plan and it was best to just stick with it.
"Alright, no time to waste. Up you go onee-chan!" Haruuhi stated as she crouched a bit, creating a footing with her calf for Miku to use as a step so she could climb up and sit on the girls shoulders. It was a little awkward to hold Miku in place while being so close to Rowan... her helmet also took up a bit of extra space that they could of used... well, all things considered at least she would be mostly safe from head shots right.
"Gadian, you ready boy? Stay right behind us, and don't cross the.. uh. The thing." She instructed the metal pup who barked loudly in in response, lowering his front end towards the ground as he got himself ready to sprint.
"I can handle the first attack, Rowan. Robodog and I will combo their legs." The volume was turned way down low, so low that it really was only the girls who would be able to hear her. She started walking at pace with Rowan, getting their rhythm straight before the two girls would start to sprint, much like the opposing team was.
That's when everything started to happen at once. The boy playing their rider began to attack them with fireworks, which thankfully Miku was able to create a defense for. That's when Haruuhi let go of Miku with her right hand, slipping her hand behind her. She would snap her fingers then open her palm to let out a blast of radiowaves towards the ground at the feet of the Chinese boys.
The moment Haruuhi snapped her fingers, Gadian began to run, booking it behind the team and opening his mouth wide and unleashing a hot jet of fire towards their opponents feet as well. The fire was picked up by Haruuhi's blast to create a small sort of maelstrom at their feet as their attacks combined.

"Hm. An interesting tactic from our opponents..."
Zhao watched in mild surprise as a tree sprouted from the ground ahead of the other team. It created an obstacle that would manipulate their momentum to avoid but it most certainly worked well in blocking the blinding effects of their fireworks. The initial volley. Seems they would not have the advantage of their foes suffering from blurred vision, but what else should they expect from fellow trained heroes. Popping his neck to either side, Zhao pushed harder into the charge, forcing himself to hold back on any use of his quirk for their first run. Had to see what they could do without their ace in the hole afterall!
Not only that, but Cheng had realized that the other team was hardly 'playing fair'. Noticing a robo-dog of some sort that was charging alongside them, he bonked Zhao on the top of his noggin and directed his attention to the hound, Zhao catching it just in time to notice that it seemed to be preparing an attack of some sort. While it's owner, Haruuhi, seemed to be trying to be more subtle in their attack, it was actually the hound that meant the team would be prepared. In it's attempt to 'blind' them with such miniscule flames, it forced the other team to prepare for an attack they may have otherwise not seen until it was too late.
"Team! Turn!"
Pulling on a quick instruction they'd practiced before hand in the days leading up the event's finale, Ren leaped up in the back, swerving his weight to the side as Zhao turned swifting on his heels, the 'horse' suddenly pivoting on Zhao's feet. Green scales formed about his neck and face, his snout stretching forward an inch or so as the beginning of fleshy whisters started to brush out of his upper lip, and finally, the true aspect of the shift, his feet turning into draconic claws through the sandals he wore, claws digging into the dirt and holding ground. He'd expected to be simply using his scales to protect against the flames that never reached him, instead just feeling a sudden force that thankfully the dug-in claws prevented from knocking him over.
"A clever diversion, but not clever enough it would seem!~"
"Jesus christ we aren't doing that again!"
Cheng bonked Zhao's head again as the horse began to trot backwards, glaring at him for the sudden turn. It had kept them on their feet but he was more than a little nauseaous from the rapid spin. With a sigh out of his nose he kept his eyes on the other team, not about to consider the run over even as the two teams passed one ano-
"The he-"
BOOM
The bouncing ball catching his attention a second too late, the rider was hit in the side by the detonation of the bouncy ball. The horse moving backwards now didn't help the team keep their balance, but with the ride taking the blunt of the force, when he tilted to the side Ren managed to just barely catch the back of his outfit, forcing him upright.
"Maybe hurt our team less and keep your eyes on the opponent."
"Oi shut it it ain't exactly easy to notice spinning about!"

“Tsh” Haruuhi hissed lowly as her combo attack didn’t quite get the effect she wanted it to. What it did do however was reveal one of the boy’s quirks, at least partially, as he began to transform into what she could only guess would be a massive, full sized dragon.
“If he can fully transform, that’ll be a huge problem…” Haruuhi muttered to Miku and Rowan as the trio made it to the end of the first pass and carefully turned themselves around so that they could be facing the opposing team once more. She would bite her lower lip gently in thought, her eyes scanning the boys as if a strategy would suddenly reveal itself to her… but they’re quirks were so vastly different, and this match was so straight forward that it made it hard to come up with just a singular plan.
“Gadian. I want you to take the lead time. Miku, can you make something to lift him up and act as backup? We’ll use him and whatever you make as a forward assault team. Hi them long before we cross paths. Rowan, I can change the direction of your explosive balls, can you toss a few ahead of us to form a second assault line behind Gadian and whatever Miku conjure’s up? We’ll act as the third assault line if they manage to get through all of that… Miku, drop some seeds here to use if they get passed up to tangle their feet.” Haruuhi began to instruct, reaching into her pouch and grabbing a handful of microchips She would just hold them in her free hand, ready to litter them over the other side as sneakily as possible the moment that they moved.
“We have to claim the field as our own, not only concentrate on them. Set up as many traps and decoys as possible? Ready?” She asked, moving one foot forward though waiting for Rowan to move in time with her so that they could charge again. As soon as they would start moving, she would toss about 4 microchips over onto the opponents side of the pass.
The moment the girls started to move, Robodog darted ahead of them at full speed, aiming to close the gap between himself and the opponent while staying on his side of the pass, waiting for the backup from Miku.

After they did the first run, it was time to prepare for the 2nd run. The one who came up with the next strategy and idea was Haruuhi. She instructed Miku that she needed to lift Robodog or Gadian, and also act as its backup. Miku nodded, she had just the right thing. Rowan had her own task. So far they had a plan for a first and a second assault. Lastly it was back to Miku, who could control the grass and tangle the enemies feet and make them trip and fall. Miku happily nodded to that. She was ready for that action.
Haruuhi then sai that they needed to claim the field as their own, not just focus on attacking or even defending against the other team. They needed traps and everything possible to tip the scales in their advantage. Right, Miku understood that. So when the briefing time was up, they needed to go and rumble. As soon as they moved, Robodog darted ahead full speed. Miku quickly threw a seed which morphed into a plant dragon which picked up Robodog for lift. Her woodland dragon was acting as Robodogs backup, just as Haruuhi was instructed. She then reached for her seeds and grabbed them. She waited her cue to throw em just right. Right place and right time, so she can entagle her opponents.

Maybe it was a small victory on her side and she flipped her hair aside, what he could do, she could do better. She did grit her teeth though and made a hmpf sound because Rowan Sakamoto was definitely not happy with the turnout as of yet. Not that the whole party was already over it was just, there were issues and she was determined to play the game right now. She did not want to think about the other ways she had played this game last year. She kept her eyes focused on the three boys, a dragon transformation. "You know what they say about the bigger the enemies are." She simply mumbled as Haruuhi said it might be an issue. She would simply listen to the instructions but not look at Haruuhi, keep an eye on the opposite party in case of attack was simply the plan. Was it their turn to attack first? She liked that idea. Which was why she did as Haruuhi instructed and grabbed three bouncing balls and threw them forward, it was the maximum that she could hold in one hand to make them sail through the air at the same time.
"Give me some of the chips, we can toss them on the ground right before Miku's seeds." She told Haruuhi as they moved on with their plan, this might be another strategy. She winked at her new friend and would take some if Haruuhi offered and threw them before the seeds that Miku threw on the ground, about five meters in front of their own little group. And now they would wait? She would have to see how the seeds worked, though she had experienced a few of them already, she would have to see what Haruuhi did as she redirected her own attack and well that was all that she could do for now.

Readied for a second run at thing Zhao wasn't too confident in their odds. He'd been hoping to save his full transformation for the last possible moment to really ake the UA students off guard but it seemed like that wouldn't be an option. Their offense was hard and heavy and they needed to up their defences as much as possible to deal with it. The entire opposing team was going on the offensive though, so if he could absorb their attacks and start dishing otu some damage of their own...
"We'll need to get this moving a little faster than I may have planned... Ren. You ready?"
The boy in the back adjusted his glasses before the next run and nodded firmly. He had to be quick in how he moved. As the next run began he loosened his grasp on the larger structure of their 'horse', and watched as Zhao charged forward ahead, his body stretching out, pushing past the length of his clothes as his body expanded rapidly, scales pushing out of his skin as he fully transformed.
"Is... is that cheating?" The announcer sounded a little unsure, and didn't realize the mic had caught what he'd said to one of the nearby event hosts as he double checked against what he was seeing. Fully transformed, Zhao was rising to the air, avoiding the seeds that hit the dirt ahead of his party and the vines that would sprout up from them to try and entangle the group, avoiding them with ease. Cheng now easily rode his back like a real mount, while below, Ren was being held by Zhao's draconic claws, his feet hanging freely in the air.
"I-I see-" Clearing his throat the announcer called out. "Since the Chinese team are still all in contact- THE KNIGHT IS VIABLE! CONTINUE THE RUN!"
"Was worried for a sec there..." Cheng would chime in with a tired sigh.
"You doubted my ability to check the rules?" Ren would snidely chime back, with the draconic Zhao rolling his eyes as he lefted the two into the air.
"Attention pre-heroes. There is still a battle to be fought here."
Now covered in tough scales, the draconic Zhao burst through the explosive attacks of Rowan as it rose higher to the sky. It's tail end trailing behind it, the freshly formed dragon ripped out Miku's tree from earlier with it's hind legs, tossing it into the air and doing a brief loop to ensure that it's knight was within range of the tree.
"Here! You can have this back!" Slapping the tree with his hand, Cheng's quirk pushed through it, the plant life torn from the ground and now given an immense spin as it was sent hurtling back towards the ground and the other team.

<Alright Gadian, jump!> Haruuhi instructed the dog that leaped up into the air the moment Miku's summoned plant dragon was created and came soaring towards him. The dragon would clamp down onto Robodog and lift him up higher off of the ground, which was a great thing seeing as the enemies half cooked dragon started turning into a full on dragon! There were too many surprises for the young red head and too many dragon's in this fight!
As the boy's moved into the offensive, picking up the tree from earlier and tossing it towards the girls, Gadian would leap out of the plant dragon's grasp in such a way that propelled the beast towards the Chinese boys. If all went well, he would land atop Zhao's head, then bring his head down to start clawing and biting at the scales beneath him.
Meanwhile down below, Haruuhi had passed Rowan a few of her microchips as requested, holding onto the ones she had planned to scatter now that the boys were nowhere near the ground... that kind of ruined her preemptive traps... if they weren't on the ground, none of them would work. What a pain. Behind the safety of her helmet, Haruuhi growled as she watched part of their fight unfold in the skies while looking through Gadians eyes. What should they do now! Well, first thing's first, they had a tree to deal with. She wasn't sure how fast Miku could manipulate it, so just incase she tossed aside her microchips then raised her hand to the tree, firing off a massive blast of radiowaves towards it to hopefully propel it back towards Cheng.

Miku's Woodland Dragon raised the robodog as planned and soared with the mechanical companion. But soon Miku saw that the foes partial dragon went full dragon mode. Which made the plant girl pout, she hoped she'd be the witty dragon person. Ah well, its still England, she guesses this is thematic enough for them
Once Miku's dragon flew close enough, the robotic dog has leant out of its grash and went towards the chinese boys. Miku used her quirk and made the woodland dragon attack the chinese dragon man boy.
