Quirkball, it was something of an activity that was quite popular among their peers. Perhaps it was because of the fact that it allowed one to use their Quirk in a sports activity, and had a healthy share of teamwork and competitiveness in it, yet at the same time one would be unlikely to expect that it was the Principal of the hero academy who had invented the game. A Quirkless individual inventing a sport for Quirkers, a fascinating turn of events.
Of course the rumored activity had earned the interest of the visitors of the Sports Festival, and as such there had been the request for one of the events to involve a match against one of the overseas schools. It didn't take long for the event to be arranged, and a proper avenue to be chosen. The field itself was something quite ordinary to be honest, a thirty meters large field was divided into two halves, and white lines marked both the middle and edges of the 'arena'. Speaking of an arena, the tribunes where quite filled already, from locals of Musutafu and Tokyo visiting to cheer on the future generation of heroes, to family and friends and of course overseas visitors. There were even some people in suits, official looking people, perhaps scouting for some future purpose?
At the assigned time, which was an one past noon, the three students who were assigned to the event would be summoned into the field, whether they wanted to wear their hero uniforms or use the school's gym attire was up to them, but the moment they arrived the crowd burst into cheers. "Yuuei! Go show us what you can do!" All sorts of encouraging cheers filled the air as the principal stood near the field waiting for their arrival. He might had looked stern, well the tenseness and cold feeling in his expression might had made him seem all business-like, but there was a slight spark of fascinating and approval in his eyes for the students that had chosen to participate.
"Welcome Kouta, Graham, Iida. I will be explaining the rules momentarily, but first it is time for us to greet our guests."
He gestured at the other side of the arena where a young woman accompanied three foreign students.
The first, and perhaps most noticable of those three was a... monkey? Yes, on first sight it appeared to be a monkey that was walking upright, but there was a certain look in his eyes that would easily make it clear that should they consider him a mere animal, that it would be quite a foolish mistake!
"Don't worry so much Mauro~ I'm sure it will be an exciting event for all of us~" A lively girlish voice called out after the monkey as she stepped beside him, her eyes wandering around the arena. "Wow, they sure are going all out with this!" Yep, seems she was quite excited."
The third one among them seemed different, at least his uniform was clearly from a different school. "Seems truly like a festival, heh~ maybe we should go sightseeing after this, invite the other team along so we can hear some exciting stories." A hearty laugh escaped his lips as the three arrived at the arena and the woman that accompanied them nodded at the students, making them introduce themselves in what clearly seemed to be English.
"Mauro Rodriquez... From Nova Horizonte"
The monkey was first to speak up, although it was barely above a whisper, while following him the girl smiled at the three students and raised a hand lightly in a wave. "Apolônia Lima, likewise~"
"Travis Blythe from Anzhop College, a pleasure to meet the esteemed students of Yuuei~ Hope you'll all give us a match to remember!"
Excitable and friendly, he clearly seemed like the time of person to get along with quite easily. Meanwhile the Principal gave each of the students some time to introduce themselves and would afterward clarify the rules of the match.
"For those unfamiliar with Quirkball, the rules are fairly simple. Each team takes one side of the field, and the goal is to toss the ball onto the ground into the opposing side's field. Some quick rules: You are not allowed to move once you have a hold of the ball and can pass at most three times among your team members, nor can you cross over into the opposing team's field. You are permitted to use your Quirk, but solely on the ball, which is able to withstand the pressure, so don't worry about it tearing or exploding if you manhandle it too roughly."
He knew all too well how wild some of his students could be. "However, there is a rule of elimination, if you get hit by the ball and it then drops on the ground, you are out and got to take a spot at the other side of the field, where you can potentially use pincer attacks with your team. Do note that should all be eliminated, the opposing team will win no matter the point difference."
He turned his gaze from one team to the other. "Any questions?"
