For the First Years of 2073-2074, the time had finally come. The event that every student had spent the entire year waiting for, the U.A. Sports Festival, was finally upon them! After a brief period of preparation, one of several main events was about to begin. The timeless combat classic, that showed off teamwork, ingenuity and pure grit; the Team Battle! A massive crowd was sitting restlessly as the arena was prepared, waiting until the moment the event finally began. Friends, family and unrelated onlookers all anticipating the big public debut of U.A.'s second group of prospective Heroes. They weren't the only waiting, however... At either end of the main arena, in the tunnels l. eading into the center, the participants in this event would be waiting. Each team was at an opposing end, given the chance to psyche each other up and strategize before they were called out on to the battlefield. Said battlefield seemed to already be prepared in the middle of the arena, 3 by 3 grid of metallic platforms embedded into the ground. Their borders were covered with bright lights, but they were otherwise solid all the way through. Each extended down a couple of meters into the ground too - though that couldn't yet be seen! All the pieces were in place, and after some excruciating final minutes of waiting and hyping, the event would finally begin to open. As the designated start time ticked over, the crowd would fall silent for a few moments, looking for whoever might be announcing this particular event. No one seemed to be coming out, however, until a few fingers pointed skyward, exclamations and whispers erupting as a figure appeared to be falling from the sky! Cloaked in an ethereal purplish glow, this mysterious shape was plummeting downward, much to the shock and excitement of the audience. After all, there was little doubt that it was a Pro Hero! Surely enough, they became a lot easier as their descent slowed down. They fell slowly, gracefully into the arena, as though in slow motion. The audience would be able to see her more clearly, a young, slender woman with three-tone hair and a confident smile on her face. Some might even recognize her... It was New Zealand's #1 Hero, Topsy! The crowd went waited with bated breath as she touched down, before extending her arms outward and addressing the crowd. "Ladies and Gentleman of Japan... Are you ready?"
The foreign woman spoke in impressive Japanese, her voice projected throughout the arena via a microphone tucked in her costume, with the crowd cheering enthusiastically in response before she continued on. "Well, then it's time to get started. On behalf of ANZHOP, I'll be your guest announcer for today's event; The Team Battle! This will be our number 1 attraction for those who wanna take a look at the combat prowess of U.A.'s rising stars! Speaking of which... Teams, let's come out and take the stage!"
Coordinators in either tunnel would usher the students out, and platforms the middle platforms at either end of the arrow would increase the intensity of their lights, indicating where the teams were to stand. "On this end, Team 1, featuring Iwasaka Shouko, Mia Fischer and Desmoshi Haymaker!"
Cheering continued, leaving the students every opportunity to be embarrassed or overjoyed by the attention...
"And on the other end, in Team 2, we have Jack Orion, Yuuto Samejima and Nenkin Kamekuji!"Of course, the other team wouldn't be spared either! Once each team was on their end of the grid, Topsy would step back off of it, and begin to explain the rules. Now that everyone's introduced, let's get to the rules. The Team Battle is simple, kids. You're to stay on that platform until the start is announced, and then, duke it out! The first team to defeat all the members of the other team wins. Or, the team with the most members remaining when time is up. Of course, one question you might be asking is; how do I defeat members of the other team? Well, there's two ways."She held up a finger for emphasis. "First, by KO or injury! Don't push yourselves too hard or we'll tap you out!" A second finger went up as she spoke. "Secondly, by knocking them off the platform. Sounds simply enough, right? Well, I'm afraid... It gets a bit more precarious than that."The young Pro Hero snapped her fingers for emphasis, and the sound of engines winding up could be heard from beneath the feet of the U.A. students. At the same time, Topsy extended her hands towards the grid of platforms, the lights taking on a purplish hue, before liftoff began! Powered by engines below, and the wondrous Quirk of New Zealand's top Pro Hero, the 3x3 grid of connected platforms would begin to raise steadily into the air. The students on board would find it a smooth ride, but hopefully none of them were too afraid of heights! The grid continued to rise, higher and higher until it was in line with the top of the stadium itself. "Don't look down!" Topsy called out counter-intuitively. "As you can see, being knocked off the platform is easier than it sounds! Don't worry, you're in safe hands if you do fall!" They weren't going to be treating it that dangerously, after all. "To keep it fair for our flyers, you don't have to hit the ground to be eliminated for falling; anyone who falls past 10 meters below the lowest platform is out! Stay on your toes! Oh, and of course, that's not the only hazard you'll be facing..."On that cue, several odd-looking heavy drones would emerge from the tunnels, four of them rising up to the level of the platform, and another pair 10 meters below the grid. They merely circled around the students for now... "Alright, that's all! If there's no questions, then take your stances, and begin my mark... Don't forget to give it your all, kids! Plus Ultra, right?"

Post by Iwasaka Shouko on Mar 1, 2020 14:11:50 GMT -4
The first attack of the sports festival team combat match would not be against the enemy team. Nor would it be intended as an attack- Although perhaps it would be more dangerous than any blow. "Yatta! We're on the same team, Mianooooon!" An exuberant voice would call as the subject of said enthusiasm would find herself tackled. Or hugged. Or, as some call it- Glomped. The brunette would embrace her friend, nuzzling. "Ehehe, with us together, there's no way we'll lose!" Came the undying confidence of Iwasaka Shouko. Of course, she didn't actually mean it. One of her favorite things about fights was how the winner couldn't be told until it was over!
Still wrapped around her friend, the girl would eventually take notice of their third teammate. "Oh! It's Desmocchi! Nice!" She had run into this boy in the training period before the tournament. His elemental martial arts were super cool! Though he still had a lot to learn... Ehehe, but the best way to do that, was to try it out! "En, Desmocchi! This is Mianon! Mianon, Desmocchi!" Shouko would introduce her two friends to each other. "And I'm Shouko!" As if she felt left out, the girl would add her own name... Not that the other two needed it.
However, with the noise coming from outside telling that it was time to be a bit more serious, Shouko could only relent and free her prisoner, slipping back into formation. "Nyahahahaha! I can't wait! I wonder who we're up against?" She asked. It was fortunate that the announcer couldn't hear her, for it was clear the girl was ignoring the self-introduction of the pro. But there was one last thing Shouko had to do before exiting the staging area! With a whip and a flourish, she tore free the sash which looped about her waist, and cast aside her tunic! It would look really cool, if any cameras were pointing to her, and not to the person who was speaking at the moment.
Revealed, was her self-made hero outfit! Carved from the solid stone she woke up in each morning, it took the form of a long skirt and not so long top. Rather, it was pretty likely that the top existed solely for modesty, and not function! The true core of the outfit was the bottom half, the skirt, which extended well below her knees. It was obviously carved by an amateur, but she had at least maintained its basic functions! Which, hopefully, she would have the chance to show off here!
Similarly, lie in the combat tournament, she had made a slight adjustment. Her feet were now covered with shoes of stone, which added to the weight of her dress, as well as protecting her feet from tricksters who tried to attack under her dress! Which was a rare occurrence, but it wasn't too much of a hindrance, so it was worth going for!
And with her outfit revealed, and showing no shame at the amount of bare skin revealed with it, Shouko would be the first to stride forth from the corridor! Well, skip, really. Hands would wave toward the crowd as she hopped lightly onto the nearest platform as directed- Either she was stronger than she looked, or the stone was lighter than it did! But by the trembling of the platform as she landed, it was probably the latter.
Over on the other side... Shouko would wave brightly towards her opponents! Two of whom she even recognized! "Ah! It's Veep! And Yuujin! Heeeeey, Yuujiiiin!" Shouko would wave across the battlefield at the blue-haired boy, before chuckling. "Nee, nee, Mianon!" She paused and nudged the girl behind her. "Looks like both teams have a shark! Yuujin's quirk summons one! Eto, if you can call that thing a shark... It's like, a shark, dragon, bodybuilder hybrid?" She tilted her head. But Yuujin called it a shark, and so it was a shark! "You'd better watch out! He can do some crazy things with it! Like turning it into a lance, or even only summoning the top half so it can fly!"
As for the vice president... She knew he could turn into a dragon, but didn't really know much else. Aside from the occasional meme in the school chatroom, where he had only recently started coming online again! In short.... He was the one she wanted to see in action the most! Their last team member as well had an interesting mutation quirk that left her eyes agleam... And her finger twitching in a way that her friend may find familiar. One that showed she had no aversion to touching the slimy hide of a slug, or perhaps, the exact opposite!
However, as talkative as she was, even Shouko would be quiet as the rules were explained. It made sense! Just like in a normal spar, if someone looked like they might get seriously hurt, the judge would pull them out... And unlike it, there was also a Ring out rule! But just as Shouko was curious about what the foreign hero meant by precarious... The ground beneath her feet began to shake! "Whoa!" She exclaimed as the three of them rose into the air... But not in shock. Her eyes were gleaming at the idea of an aerial battlefield! Except... "Aww, oh no!" SHouko's eyes glanced to her friend. A battlefield like this would limit the shark-quirker's ability to swim through solid objects as though they were water, if she could even use it at all! A major component of her strength and martial style, gone without a trace!
But she wouldn't give up hope yet, nudging her friend with a whisper. "Mmmm, Mianon... Can you...? A hand aimed at thh floor to get her point across. "Or... Would the metal be a problem? I don't know how much of this is machinery, too..." She didn't want her friend to swim straight into an engine, after all! In short, they needed to be extremely careful, but... If the ability did work, it could make or break the fight!
But they wouldn't be able to test it out just yet without being disqualified. At the pro's signal, Shouko would stand up straight, legs slightly bent, and arms crossed in front of her- A very neutral combat stance, from which she could adapt as needed!

Post by Mia Fischer on Mar 1, 2020 18:22:58 GMT -4
Mia's heart was happily pounding away in her chest as her friend came flying at her. "Yes we are, thank goodness." She had been so nervous worrying over what she would do if Shouko had been on the opposite team as her. Sure they had fought plenty of times in sparring matches but she had never really been all that fond of the idea. "Well, I don't know about that..." Shouko's confidence seemed once again to set the bar very very high but Mia wanted nothing more than to prove her right. She would give this her all.
Still in the grip of her friend and mentor she was maneuvered over to meet their third team mate. Naturally she waved, unable to truly curtsy or give a proper handshake with Shouko nuzzling her. "N-nice to meet you." It would no doubt become obvious to their new team mate that while Mia was being friendly she was also beat red right to the tips of her ears from the friendliness of Shouko. And should this team mate prove especially observant, they might note how Mia was happily enjoying every millisecond of it.
With Shouko finally relenting her pleasant grip on Mia, she found the time to ask a prevalent question. "Umm, what exactly does your quirk do Desmocchi?" She asked, knowing full well that this was probably another Shouko-brand nickname at work. Suffice to say she was very curious and of the natural mindset to fret and worry about the details before everything began. This would have no doubt evolved into an interesting discussion about how to use their quirks together in an effective matter, however her eternal preoccupation chose that moment to drop some clothes. Mia turned almost immediately still blushing a bit before remembering Shouko's battle dress though that hardly stopped her noting that it was time to go.
She proceeded after Shouko at a leisurely walk, a little nervous of the event to come but determined to do her best. It seemed the other team also had three people and her friend seemed to know them? "They have a shark too?" She would ask with deathless curiosity, her tail swishing behind her rapidly. "ohh..." She was a little disappointed to hear it was a shark summon and not an actual shark but she was still very interested in seeing it. Mia spent the time up until the explanation of the rules, pondering about the people on the other side of the field. It's not like she was disinterested in fighting them, but if possible she would have probably preferred to go get some tea or coffee together to chat.
Being knocked out of the ring counts? I might be able to do that... Knocking someone out of the ring sounded far kinder than injuring them until they had to be pulled out of the fight. Yet she would do either if the situation called for it, she had limped back to the nurses office too many times to hesitate with that option. The ring seemed to shake a bit and the entire platform lifted high into the air and Mia felt dread. It felt like the platform could be swam through, but to what extent and would it even be safe to do so? The young shark worried over the sudden change even as her friend celebrated it.
With a nudge Shouko got her attention and asked about the very thing she was concerned over. "I.. I think I can.. but I'll have to be careful."She replied honestly, sharing her concerns but not quite willing to let the danger stop her from using her methods. The idea of being a burden to the team was something she would be willing to risk danger to avoid at all costs. I will prove that I belong here. Much like her friend, Mia would take a light combat stance immediately at the signal, preparing for the inevitable fight.

Desmoshi had worked hard for this moment. He had been training non-stop to prepare for the tournament with the help of his sister. However, it did not rid of the nerves that he kept hidden inside. It was different when you are one-on-one against an opponent. But now he had to make sure to keep up with his teammates. Especially being a lot more experienced than he was. Desmoshi stood quietly in the tunnel, the hood of his black boxer robe over his head. Could he be a help for his team? He definitely wasn't Mizuki. She was the analyst out of the two of them. He was more of the straightforward type of guy, choosing to approach the situation fists first. Could that meld well for his team?
He readjusted his blue fingerless support gear that he had received from Kumoko and Honey. They really did do a good job. Not only did they figure out how much output of power Desmoshi would use each time he fought, but they were able to put safety precautions on the gloves if he lost too much control of his quirk. Honey also designed his gloves with his favorite color and put his family's symbol on the backhand of the glove. Desmoshi stared at the symbol for a while, looking at the silver-embrodied crest. The fist in the center was surrounded by the elements his quirk used- fire, water, earth, and wind. He thought about what that symbol meant to him and his family. The will to never give up. And he wasn't planning to do that today, no matter the obstacle that may come.
But still, he wondered who his teammates was going to be. They didn't give him advance notice about it except for what type of event it would be and he hadn't seen the names for the signups. However, it wasn't long before Desmoshi would find out who is teammates were. At the mention of his name being yelled in excitement, his mind was put to ease. Shouko was walking over to him with a silver-haired girl in tow. She had pretty blue eyes and... Wait a minute!! A shark tail!? That was so cool!! He wasn't sure why he kept being surprise by this. This wasn't his first time seeing the girl around the school. In fact, they were in the same class together. He just couldn't remember her name. Why did he keep having trouble with that? He decided after the event he would start to get to know his classmates more.
Desmoshi did his best to contain in his excitement as the pair approach him. With an excited smile, Shouko introduced the two to one another. Desmoshi wasn't sure if the girl's name was really Mianon because all the nicknames Shouko used for people. Mia! That was her name. He looked over to young girl and gave confident smile and a wave. "Nice to meet you too," Desmoshi greeted. However, the young girl seem to be blushing furiously under Shouko's embrace. Did she like her or was she just being shy? Desmoshi figured it was best not pry into Mia's personal life and decided to ignore it for now. He understood what it was like to like someone and not being able to tell them. He thoughts drifted back to Yang and their first encounter together. He still wasn't sure about his feelings towards the new girl, but right now he needed to focus.
His thoughts were interrupted by Mia who asked him about his quirk. Instead of giving the long version, he kept as short as possible. "My quirk allows me to produce the four elements using energy in my body. But I can only concentrate it in smaller parts of my body such as my feet and fists." He and his teammates went into discussion about how they plan to fight their opponents such as what quirks would work together and what the enemy possessed. While this was happening, Shouko decided to remove robe to reveal her newly carved out battle dress for everyone to see. Desmoshi was still amazed at how she did it and hope that he would learn to cloak himself elements one day. His father could do it with no problems. He, on the other hand, still needed a little bit more work.
It wasn't long before there names were called for the introduction. Desmoshi removed his black robe and set it on the bench. Mizuki said she would get it later after they exited out the tunnel. He revealed his blue-colored tank top, displaying his family symbol on it. He patted out the wrinkles in his green boxing shorts making sure that they were still good to go. Kumoko and Honey said they designed to able to hold up against his elements without any issues. So far, they weren't wrong. He laced up his green sneakers and pressed the play button on his necklace. The song begin to blare throughout the tunnel and into the arena. The crowd cheered wildly as the three of them exited out of the tunnel. The crowd didn't bother Desmoshi too much. He was focused on the music that was playing on his necklace, as he took practice swings just like his dad before his matches.
He looked at the crowd to see his parents holding the usual "Go Desmoshi!" sign. He gave the usual fist of encouragement to his folks that only the Haymakers knew meant "We got this" among their family. His parents returned the same encouragement to him, smiles beaming at how quickly their son has grown. He transferred his wind element to his feet. With a loud sound of thunder, he air blasted himself into the ring, Superman-landing next to his teammates.
He looked up to see who his opponents were. He knew off the bat what Yuuto quirk was because they did the warm up exercise together with Nimue-sensei. Seperating and his summons was going to be a tall order. On top of that, Jack having the ability to turn into a dragon was going to be a problem as well. Desmoshi could meet him air, but he knew Jack had the better maneuverability. The only quirk he wasn't sure of was the young tan-skinned man standing next to them. At first glance, he kind of looked like a snail to Desmoshi, completed with the shell and antennas. He seem to be covered in slime and Desmoshi wasn't sure if it was harmful or not but he knew he had to keep an eye out for him.
Desmoshi listened carefully as the rules were given out. At the announcer's cue, the ground seem to shook underneath them. The platform they were standing on begin to rise into the air, about ten meters from the ground. Oh, so that's what they meant when they said 'Heroic Heights'. 'So if I fall, I'm out. Gotta avoid that,' he thought to himself. He noticed the drones circling around the arena, knowing they were there to do more harm than good. He also noticed that the platform was made of metal, meaning he had to be careful not super heat it with his fire element. Mostly because Mia would need the ground to swim through it. He would have to stay clear and be mindful of where his silver-haired teammate was when she was underground.
As the music from his speakers stop playing, the announcer signal them to enter into their stances. At his signal, Desmoshi slammed his fist to together and the sound of thunder could be heard throughout the arena accompanied with a loud howl. He entered into his out-boxer stance which didn't provoke an attack His eyes begin to glow green as miniature hurricanes formed around his hands creating a small gust near him and his teammates. When the hurricanes stop spinning, two giant wolf heads with green eyes and fangs formed around Desmoshi's fists. The eyes seem to look directly his opponents as though they were to pounce on their prey. 'Remember, balance is the key,' Desmoshi thought to himself as he raised one of his fists to his opponents. He yelled with confidence in his voice
[smear:#77e619]MY FISTS IS FILLED WITH STRENGTH OF ILLINOIS! HOWL, FANGS OF THE FOREST!! HAYMAKER STANCE: CHICAGO OUT-BOXER!![/smear:#131313:1]
As he announced his stance, the wolves howled with pride as the sound of thunder resounded throughout the arena. It sent out a harmless gust of wind that could felt throughout the arena. Desmoshi wasn't backing down. He was going to show everyone, including those who were stronger than him, just what he was made of!!

Post by Yuuto Samejima on Mar 3, 2020 23:48:36 GMT -4
The start of the festival has dawned on him and the fire in his soul is beating for this. Luckily for him, he got the event he signed up for and boy is it a sight to behold. He never had a fear of heights but this place inspires a new feeling in his chest. Excitement? Joy? Whatever the feeling is, it’s hyping him up and he can feel it down to the marrow. Yuuto Samejima, the confident punkish hero is now on stage and this is a fight that is going to push him to the very limits. He was pumped up as he saw the opponents on the other team. His outfit lost the cape but he has his weapons on hand, considering who he is up against he is definitely going to need them.
“FUCK YEAH THIS IS WHAT IM TALKING ABOUT!”. He scanned the enemy team and tried to remember as much as he could about them as he cracked his knuckles.
Opposing teams line up was quite a doozy in terms of skill and strength. A mixed bag for him since he only knows one of them enough to make any real predictions on strategies.
Shouko was the biggest one in his sights as she was someone who can easily style on him once she gets the opportunity. Her quirk was relatively simple but it is as solid as it looks. She is dangerous since those things can pull a fast one and he can't afford to get sloppy around her. Terrifyingly skilled and strong, she is someone he absolutely cannot take on in a one-on-one fight. Maybe he could leave Jack to her or something. “Why does she always insist on that nickname for me…”
The shark girl named Mianon on the other hand intrigues him since he had only heard of quirk being mentioned and has zero clue on how she fights. Though from what he kept hearing, she could be shark themed as well and that is a massive hint since sharks are known for a few things. But considering what he knows of her and Shouko, they’re someone to be careful of in a fight. Strategy is to watch her and see what she does before she does anything too crazy.Push comes to shove, he may just push for a fight against her. “Shark vs Shark eh? Kinda funny in the grand scheme of things”
The last one is someone he isn’t too familiar with. He often sees him around with his sister and looks pretty tough. But nothing too concrete since he was a bit busy training for the festival. Though from what he has heard, he may have the element of surprise since he doesn't know his quirk. Side note, he is quite loud and he may have given him a hint on what his quirk does. For now, he could be someone he can take on as well. “Interesting enough…”
“Quite the line up we have here...let's see how we fare. Introductions are a bit redundant with what I know of both of you. ” he’d say to his teammates as he readied up. Checking his blade and taking off his eyepatch, he made some bets and he is going to see how he fairs in a group fight. Taking a chance he would look through his notes of what he can do with his quirk.
Jack Orion, held back a year and is excitable. Quirk has stated that he is a dragon and he can blast plasma from his body like the creature of legend. Several witnesses have confirmed it and he seems reliable enough to not warrant any sort of ire from him. Though he could be more subtle about what his quirk is aside from mentioning every time in the group chat. That last one is just his personal thoughts. “Never thought I’d be fighting alongside a dragon before….”
Nenkin Kamekuji, a fellow student of class 1-B and his quirk should be obvious. Though he doesn't know much of him as neither of them were the type to speak to each other. One could pen it to Yuutos oh so pleasant persona but it could be other reasons. But if he’s in the hero course, then he can hold his own with what he can do. He saw him in a training course but he didn't exactly see his quirk in full regalia. “ Lets see what he can do in a team fight like this”. Though now comes the issue of knowing each others strengths and he doesn't know his team very well so might as well get that out of the way,
“Might as well explain our quirks for the sake of clarity. My quirk lets me summon a shark-like monster that I can control. Just don't break the chain and we’ll be fine.” he belted out as he made sure his sword was alright and ready. “Who do you wanna take on in your honest opinions? Because I'm kinda down to take on the shark girl…what are your choices?”
As he finished his introduction, the ground rules were being set up and boy were they a wall. Straightforward and simple, just the way he likes it. No bullshit or work around, just a good old fashioned brawl. Taking them out, injury or throwing em out is the name of the game and that sounds pretty fair. Shouko is gonna be tricky to deal with knowing how she works. Maybe the shark girl but can't assume she can take that laying down and other guy as well. The rest of issues will be figured out in due time.
The stage was set, the fights were ready and everyone was in for one hell of a show! Yuuto quickly got into his fighting stance as he drew his blade.
“Come Razor, IT'S SHOWTIME!”
As he belted out his usual battle quote, Razor in his Buster mode burst forth from behind him. The monster took its own fighting stance and the image of a knight and his servant is complete.
“Shall we be off then?”, he casually remarked as he counted his opponent with his blade as he grinned.

Good grief...this is gonna be interesting...
Jack scowled lightly, remembering the last time he was in a team battle like this. Today would mark a year ago exactly, if memory serves correctly. A year ago when he, along with some of his then fellow classmates, faced off against a group from another school in a team battle. Last time, he was no where near as strong as he was currently, with next to little proper training at the time. The whole reason that Jack had realized his folly in joining so late, and electing to hang back in the First Year. If there was any time to prove that his decision was indeed the correct one, now would be the time.
He stood beside his fellow classmates Yuuto and Nenkin, crossing his arms as his tail swayed from side to side in anxiety. He already knew he was going up against Shouko, Mia, and the newer Desmoshi...and he knew fully well that at the very least Shouko and Mia would likely be a challenge. Desmoshi, not so much...he didn't really know the full extent of his abilities, so he was a bit more wary of him, at least until he could get a proper read on him. Despite his anxiety, he smiled kindly at both of his teammates, trying his best to put on a confident front.
"Y'all ready for this? We're going up against some pretty tough people, after all. Let's try to stick together at the start, just in case. We're gonna have to play this smart if we're gonna win this," he said, giving a couple of nods, almost like that statement was just as much for him as it was for his teammates. He just knew that sticking together gave them an opportunity to bounce off one another in case any of the opposing team gave one of them trouble. Yuuto seemed particularly excitable, yelling almost as loud as Jack can roar, causing the dragon boy to grin lightly. He at least appreciated his spirit, which was more than welcome currently.
Once they were all ready, they would all soon be ushered out onto the stadium, the roar of the crowd greeting them as they cheered for the young students. Well, Jack wasn't too young, but...he definitely looked it, with his 5-foot-flat height. Jack snorted lightly at the thought, wondering if he'll ever get properly taller. Probably not, but who knows? In any case, the trio of dragon, shark-summoner and slug made their way to the battleground, Jack trying his hardest to seem at least slightly intimidating, but...probably failing, again due to his height. This was proven to be true as Shouko promptly greeted them loudly and wave, forcing Jack to smile at his energetic classmate and wave back, chuckling lightly.
After the introductions, the rules would promptly be explained. The Pro Hero Topsy would stress the idea of not pushing yourself too far, but...this was one of the big finales of the Festival! Jack was going to give it 150%, right from the start. "No more holding back...!" he muttered to himself, his eyes suddenly going sharp and yellow as he stared down his opponents, going completely still, even his tail. Even as the arena they stood on began to float into the air did the dragon boy move an inch. In fact, he just grinned devilishly, appreciating the setting for this fight. Now...the world was going to see that his choice actually meant something. Now was the time...the time to prove himself!
However, he frowned ever so slightly at the rather...explosive outbursts from Desmoshi, who made wind and wolves howl to add to his battle cry. It was even more over-the-top than Jack's entrance into the tournament. Nonetheless, immediately after, Yuuto made a similar battle-cry, summoning his mighty shark, which made Jack whistle a bit, impressed. Yuuto then asked him and Nenkin who they would prefer to fight, giving Jack a chance to speak up.
"I think that it's best if we stuck together, for now. We don't know if they may do something similar, and we'll need to work together if we're gonna win this," he said flatly, though he did seem to have his gaze locked onto Shouko more than anything. "As more my Quirk, I shoot plasma energy...and, y'know..." he said, trailing off for a second, before baring his fangs and claws, black and white energy crackling around Jack like lightning.
[smear:#4db8ff]"THIS!!!"[/smear:#f5020a:0]
He bellowed, suddenly dropping onto all fours and quickly changing into his magnificent dragon form, his black and white scales gleaming, and his blue horns almost looking like gemstones in the sunlight. He was roughly around the size of a car, not wanting to take up too much space, of course. He glared daggers at his opponents, simply waiting for the signal to attack. "We sticking together, or would you rather do your own thing?" he asked his teammates, honestly just waiting to go one way or the other.

Nenkin stretched his arms over his head and did a few rudimentary stretches to get his blood flowing a bit more. "Yooo, Yuuto, language, They probably got this entire thing mic'd up like nothing else..." He would conclude his routine by rolling his neck and shoulders a few times. Honest, he didn't know that much about the folks on the other team, mostly be virtue of none of them being in his class. At best he could go off Jack's body language.
He would chuckle at annoyance Yuuto displayed from his nickname. "Yuujin? How'd you manage to get yourself a name like that?" The large boy would place his hands on his hips, and his eye stalks would swivel around to look at his classmate before he looked back to the other team. A frighteningly small bunch. He had no doubt that he and his team would be able to deal with them post-haste!
"Stick together." His tone was commanding, much unlike the quiet, gentle giant he made himself to be in the classroom. The snail boy would crack his knuckles one by one, making sure to flex out the thousands of barbs that lied under his skin for all to see before recalling them. "Strike the heart and route them. Keep their focus away from working together and we'll win this before they know what hit them." He would, of course, keep his words quiet enough to where the other team hopefully didn't hear him, assuming that no one on the other team had some kind of super-hearing or something.
The echo of thunder and a foreboding wind whipped around him. He was never one to have to pump himself up by yelling. He got his blood flowing with the stretches alone. he actually found the primal displays somewhat jarring, not that he would say anything about it, though. He gave his chin a thoughtful scratch, as if his mind wasn't already made. "If I had to choose, though," He started to get down on all fours to make the most use of his surprising mobility, "I would want to take on the overconfident American boy!" He made sure to shout loud enough that his opponents would be able to hear him. He shot a taunting glare towards Desmoshi, or at least the best one he could given the fact his face wasn't really built for showing emotions. It was quite tragic indeed.
"I may be a snail, but do not think me slow, friends. My strength is greater and my hide is tougher than any normal man's. I'll be able to keep up with the rest of you just fine!" He pressed his fingers harder into the ground, his sticky slimy skin making it quite easy for him to keep a stronger grip! His muscles were tensed, he would be ready to take off as soon as the signal was given! "Uhhh... maybe not with Razor, though."

The elevated platforms were mostly able to stay aloft by themselves, but the additional aid from Topsy's Quirk meant they were stable and could be easily manipulated and moved around. Which meant it was going to be quite an exciting time for these students! As they all went through their planning phase and made proud, spirited declarations, the young Pro Hero couldn't help but watch on and grin, tickled by their enthusiasm for it all. 'U.A. kids really are hyper... Though, this isn't exactly the best place to get too overexcited...Indeed, one wrong step could have them plummeting to their doom! Or, rather, their elimination from the competition. Topsy was on watch for any falls, and with her powerful Quirk, no lives were actually at risk. Ideally. Though, with how ready those kids were to throw down perhaps a fall from this height wasn't even the most dangerous damage they could be facing in this fight! With everyone on the raised arena assuming their stances and waiting for the starting pistol, Topsy decided to give them one last push to really get their blood pumping. With a subtle movement, she let all the platforms of the grid slightly part, the 9 separate sections now separated by a few centimeters of space that peered down to the ground below. It wasn't enough to make things anymore dangerous, but it was noticeable enough to be a frightening warning: Don't expect the platforms to just stay in place the whole time! "Alright, if everyone's ready... On your marks..."The audience anticipation reached its peak, and she let her words linger to build up some further tension... "Get set..."This was it, the time for U.A.'s First Year to show the nation what the had; their time to Go Beyond! "FIGHT!"

Tsk tsk, her greetings had been summarily dismissed! Shouko pouted as her opponents messed around with each other instead of acknowledging her. Fine! Three could play at that game! Whirling around, she would begin to ignore their displays of their abilities in favor of... Choosing a team name! As the muscle-bound shark Razor- Or as she preferred to call him, Samejin- was summoned, she would pointedly ignore him in favor of chattering at her friends. "Ne, ne, Mianon, Desmocchi. What should our team name be? Eto, we've got my Yaogun (Rock and Roll), Mianon's Die Raserai (Frenzy), and Desmocchi's Boxing! Hmm, and as fdor quirks... Rocks, sharks, and elements? Hmmmm.... How about!" The girl struck a pose, which was always a worry. She was never known for her naming sense. "Gigant Breaker!" She delivered a name that had nothing to do with any of her 'considerations' listed moments prior.
Unlike their opponents, Team Gigant Breaker (temp name) had no such plans! They fought with their guts, their hearts, and their friendship! Forcing her teammates to stack their hands in the middle of the three, Shouko performed that natural pre-game ritual... "3! 2! 1! Break!" She shouted, as she flung her hand into the air. Did such an action have any meaning? Probably not, but she had always wanted to try it at least once! And with a massive grin on her face, she would whirl to once more face her enemies... Eh? They seemed a bit different from before?
For one, Veep was gone! And oh, Samejin had come out! The enemy team had been showing their quirks off during this sacred planning time... How devious! With such flash, they would steal the audience's eyes from the beginning! Fortunately, her teams own Desmocchi was no slacker in that department! Inspired, Shouko raised her voice to call out as well!
"Yaogun Style, Iwasaka Shouko! Eto, eto... Hard as rock and twice as thick! Please treat me well!""
She nodded enthusiastically, happy at the introduction she had come up with on the spot... And hardly noticing the looks of pity coming from the audience at her obvious lack of sensibilities. In the first place, if she was trying to talk herself up, should she have ended with 'please treat me well?' Or, even before that... What did twice as thick even mean? Well, the girl next to her certainly had her own feelings about that claim.
But the time for messing about was soon over, and the announcer declared one of Shouko's favorite words of all time! Fight, that's right! Shouko quickly glanced at the situation across the board. Her honed eyes would hardly miss the gap beginning to form between the platforms, nor it's implication. "Nyehehe, I knew they would have a reason to make the battle aerial! Ne, Mianon, Desmocchi, pay attention! The platforms can move, that means they can rearrange! Try not to get stuck in a 2v1 without an escape route!" Was her advice. Mianon was fairly flexible, but she wasn't sure how well Desmocchi would handle crossing the gaps between platforms if they spread too far apart.
As for the alternative, trying to use the movements to force a 2v1 situation... Shouko would never think that far ahead! "I wonder if they're moving automatically, or if they're controlled by Topsy-sen..." She nearly called the foreign pro sensei, then paused. But they weren't one of her teachers, was sensei really appropriate? And so she left it at sen.
In the former case, they could find the pattern and use it! In the latter... Well, they could figure out what Topsy-sen's plan was, and work around it! Mmhmm! "En, let's worry about that as we go! Come on!"
But the time for talk had long since passed, and even as Shouko mused, she would be in motion! Whether her teammates joined her or split their own ways... En, she couldn't look behind her at a time like this! Her analyst's eyes were focused, gleaming, on the three members of the enemy team, watching what they would do.
And as she took the shortest, most direct path, in a straight line to the platform in the middle, it was as though making a challenge. No subterfuge, no attempts at flanking. Just a girl and her armor, closing the distance. How would the enemy team- and her own- follow through?

Mia covered her mouth with a hand, smiling softly behind it at the other team's excitement. It's not like she wasn't excited as well, but not nearly to the degree that they were. Her vision slowly panned over to Shouko, as it often wanted to do. She was honestly very happy that Shouko had managed to pronounce her style correctly and nearly missed the name reveal at the end. w-what? How does that have anything to do with any of us? She stood there blinking for a moment, offering no obvious resistance despite her opinion on the matter. A sane person might step up and say something about the silliness but she didn't really mind, it had been Shouko's idea after all and she was well used to the antics.
Mianon maneuvered her hand into the three person pile, secretly rather excited to be a part of something she had only ever read about. Mentally she went over it in her head to make sure she didn't make any mistakes. Okay, so she'll count down and then I bring my hand up with everyone. Is it on 1 or break though... She payed very close attention to the hand pile, waiting for the moment when she felt the upward movement to go along with it. Naturally she succeeded and was all too happy about it. So it was break, delightful.
Her hand recovered from the air, Mia watched with astonishment as Shouko announced herself. Twice as thick? Her gaze dropped a little bit from Shouko's eyes and Mia blushed hard. This was certainly a bad time to be remembering things, yes indeed. The young shark shook her head swiftly, and decided not to try and announce herself either.
She wasn't so badly flustered to miss the shockingly sensible advice from her dear friend and nodded once. Escaping shouldn't be too hard for her, unless the other students were hiding something particularly tyrannical in their quirks. Though, she would have to maintain a very good understanding of the positions of the platforms or she might just end up swimming herself off the edge. While the idea of falling from that massive height wasn't a bother to her, letting down her friend would be far more unpleasant. She took one last moment to stretch, hearing the crick crack of tendons and then she was off. The moment the 'fight' sounded she pressed one of her feet into the surface to ensure she could use it before immediately running after Shouko.
While her style would certainly benefit from immediately sneaking under the surface, she instead chose to run with Shouko directly forward. "Under Shouko" Mia whispered her position to her comrades before they crossed the gap. The moment they both crossed the minor gap, indicating that they were in area 5, she dove under the surface deep enough that she wouldn't give hints as to her position. Her physical position was still in the same direction and heading as Shouko, keeping speed with her friend based on the speed she had seen so far. The reverberations through the platforms served as her guide to keep in place with her friend.

You got to love Shouko. Her team name was a little weird but Desmoshi accepted none the less. At least she was enjoying herself and having fun with it. It was nice to team up with someone who shared his enthusiasm. The team name didn't matter. What matter was that they were having fun and they were relaxed. Especially while they were in front of a huge crowd and being on platforms that rose a couple of meters in the air. But still, Desmoshi was going to enjoy it, no matter the outcome.
Desmoshi joined in hand pile and on break, flung his wind covered hands in the air, being sure not hurt his teammates or anyone else. The team across from them was just as excited and ready to go. Everyone was getting into it. Including Shouko. Although he had to question why she twice as thick and looked over to Mia, who was blushing madly. 'She has to like her... or she could be just a little nervous,' Desmoshi thought. He decided it was the latter and got back into his stance. Desmoshi noticed that the platforms was starting to separate a little and Shouko gave heads up to keep an eye out for them.
At the word 'fight' Desmoshi's boxing instincts kicked in. Sticking together seem like the sensible thing. Until he thought about the line up his team was facing. Jack was a dragon, so Desmoshi assume he could fly. And judging from his size, that was not going to be an easy fight. He was still unsure what the snail guy could do, but Desmoshi never looked down on an opponent just because they looked different. If he was at the school, that means he was definitely strong in his own right. Yuuto was the one Desmoshi belive would be the biggest problem. Not only was the man himself was strong, but probably his summon. Meaning that this fight was a three versus four if that was included. He could also fly!
Desmoshi wanted to follow his team but he believed there was better course of action. Mia needed the stealth and was probably the one the other team would take out. Shouko was definitely stronger Desmoshi and would do a better job of protecting Mia than he could. If Desmoshi try to use quirk any other way, it would knock Mia out of hers and cause her to fall. Desmoshi hated being a lone wolf. A team makes things work a whole lot smoother. But he had to make sure that two strongest had a chance to do what they needed to do. Meaning... He had to be his loud usual self.
"Either this is going to hurt or it will work," Desmoshi said nervously. He steeled himself. "But my team needs an opening." Maybe the other team would think he was stupid and chase after him, giving Mia and Shouko enough time for an opening they were not ready for. Desmoshi sent wind into his feet and with loud sound of thunder hopped over diagonally to the other platform. He landed and almost fell, but he regain his balance and made it to the center. Maybe he could make the team think it was a flank and they would follow him instead them paying attention to his teammates. "Sometimes, you got make a sacrifice," he said to himself as he got back into his stance. If he got knocked off, maybe he could pull one of them down with him.

It’s time to lock and load
Yuuto thought to himself as the signal to start was shot. Many ideas are already rushing through his brain as he knows what Shouko plans to do. She is a dangerous and formidable foe to go against alone but with Jack and Nenkin nearby, he has some leverage to take her out. But the other two are a mystery and will have to play it by ear.
He takes a moment to notice the platforms moving underneath him. Makes an educated guess that the space in the gaps are going to increase as time goes on. A hazard and an asset for him for any future strategies that he could exploit. But he sets that aside for now to warn the others at least.
“Watch the platforms, keep track of where you are and who you are stuck with.” he says to his teammates as he takes the opportunity to fully summon Razor, the floating torso suddenly gaining his land legs and standing tall. As much as he wants to get into a fight, the opponents are skilled and have the drop on him most likely due to Shouko. He gets onto his summons back and makes sure the chain that connects the both of them is gripped tight. Providing a good way to look out at the field and a decent look at the surrounding area. There's only one person he can see where he somewhat lost sight of the other two.
His assumptions immediately beeline to Shouko heading the assault with a surprise laying in wait if he were to take up her challenge. Maybe he can get Jack to blast the area and reveal the surrounding area but that’d only give them some cover. He needs to account for Nenkin as well but he has zero clue on what to do. But he notices one of them running off in the opposite direction was obvious but...where is the third? Something was throwing him off but acting off it is going to be tricky when the issue isn't very obvious. His eyes scan the field as he watched Shouko approach them head on. Eyes dart around the field as he tries to find the third to no avail. He closes his eyes and takes a deep breath as to not panic and resolves to try a new strategy. Teamwork isn't his forte but its going to be that now.
“Watch one who separated from the group and stay close.”, he’d add on as Razor takes a battle stance. Sticking together is the best option right now as much as he dislikes the idea. The danger levels are set and they need to act soon.
“Jack what's your weight limit on people riding on your back? Because I have a stupid ass idea, but I need your input on it...”, he’d suggest as he looked on ahead to see Shouko doing as he thought but something about it seemed off. He wanted to rush her down but something was stopping him.
Yuuto and Razor stand guard at the front as he stared at the rushing rock girl. “The moment she gets near, pick me and Nenkin up and blast em. I’ll provide support and drop in once the area is clear. Any objections?”, he'd ask in a more neutral tone as he readies up. He knows Jack enough to make a good decision and Nenkin is going to be vital due to the whole platform deal. He can't climb or fly so he is going to rely on these two to save his ass if things start going south.
The moment anyone gets near, Razor takes a ready stance and takes the guard. Not aiming to attack like his usual approach and instead opts for playing more defensively.
Once something goes awry, Yuuto uses the opportunity to throw himself and Razor to a different platform to get himself out of the way.
TLDR: -Starts thinking -Notices the moving platforms and tells the others - Strats -Noticing the odd split up of the group and notes it -Asks Jack a stupid ass question - Stands at the front of (platform 6) -Says his idea and gets ready

Jack frowned lightly as the opposite team seemed to have a lot of playful banter with one another, going as far as to create a team name for themselves as the fight was announced to begin. Well, he at the least could appreciate their spirit. He looked to both Yuuto and Nenkin, cocking his head lightly. "Should, ah...we have a team name, as well, or...?" he asked, sounding a bit shy on the matter. He mostly just wanted to join in on the fun more than anything else, but he would soon snap back to attention as their opponents quickly went on the move.
He immediately noted how they split up, Desmoshi even going right onto the edge of the platform. For what reason, he had zero idea. Did he intend on baiting one of them to go and fight them hand to hand? He felt his eye twitch lightly, wondering if that was actually the case. Whether it was or not, the team plan was relatively clear thus far; stick together, stay close. Jack spread his wings to their full length behind Nenkin and Yuuto, mostly ready to fire at a moment's notice, no matter the attack.
Yuuto then asked Jack a surprising question about how much weight he could handle carrying at once. The dragon eyed Yuuto in confusion, saying flatly "I...I can quite literally carry a boulder if I wanted to. If you're implying that you and Nenkin should ride me, it wouldn't be an issue." With that, as Shouko and the now hidden Mia approached them, Yuuto explained his plan. Pick them up the moment they get close and fire, eh? Simple, but effective, he supposed.
He eyed Shouko warily, knowing that it may be their best shot. "...Yeah, that could work. Probably a flight limitation though, so I'll have to be careful. Plus..." he said, looking back over at Desmoshi suddenly, "...Best to nip some issues in the bud before they're an issue."
With that sudden declaration, Jack would suddenly fire a laser from his tail, heading right for Desmoshi! He held back a bit, though; he at least wanted to give Desmoshi a chance to recover and learn from that beginning mistake of heading right for the ledge to start with. It was still, nonetheless, a fast attack that would do a deal of damage if Desmoshi couldn't get out of the way in time.
Meanwhile, as Shouko and Mia would approach, Jack would quickly follow suit with Yuuto's plan, grabbing Yuuto with his tail and pulling Nenkin close as he would take off only a few feet into the air, flapping in place as he would suddenly fire a much stronger laser from his mouth towards Shouko, chasing her with it if it didn't initially make contact. He would leave his attacks to that, though, letting his teammates get in some attacks before he would continue with his own assault. He needed to pace himself here, rather than go wild. Lest he suddenly get carried away and leave himself wide open to attack.

"Hark, for such a meeting we have no need for a name!" I Nenkin had the eyelids to squint, he would have done so. He didn't like the foolish patience that his team was putting on display. Letting the enemy move on them first was a surefire way to lose the match. Nenkin paced himself on all fours, prowling for the opportunity to launch himself at them. He didn't like that the platforms were moving either. Actually, it was time to clear his misconceptions, he didn't like that there were unknown variables that he had to deal with at all. He liked a challenge, sure! Just not a surprise challenge!
"HO THERE!" The boy would declare! Nenkin got back up on his legs to stretch his fingers in preparation. Were Yuuto and Jack really going to keep blabbering about how much the dragon could lift while the enemy was quite literally charging them. He started to step forward, readying himself to meet Shouko should his team be so distracted! "I'll need ask you to reconsider your actions!" Alas, they were more capable than he gave them credit for! The Snail-boy would recoil a few steps as Jack shot a powerful laser out of his!... Tail?! That's not how dragons were supposed to work! Everything was firing off faster than he thought possible. Without thought, the barbs on his skin retracted, and just in time for Jack to snatch up Nenkin to relative safety!
The light was blinding, and Nenkin was forced to retract his eyes mostly into his head to keep his retina from burning! What the heck was up with this guy! He could practically see the path of carbon scoring where his beam had hit! Was this guy really just a first year? Was this the power in class 1-A? How the hell was anyone supposed to keep up with someone like that? If the rest of his classmates were this powerful... Nenkin swallowed a lump in his throat at the very thought. God, he was going to have a hell of a ride in ahead of him.
Nenkin would land on the ground with a heavy thud on all fours that would no doubt be dwarfed by Jack's very steps. He splayed his toxic barbs once more, and readied himself for what was to come. His eyes swiveled about, trying to find the shark-girl who had dived into the ground before. Considering the American boy's positioning, he had no doubt that they lot of them were going in for some kind of pincer maneuver! "Yo! Keep your eyes peeled for the third one, I think we're in for a flank on both sides!"

As the fight began, Topsy would continue to carefully manipulate the platforms above. They were partially supported the power of their own thrust, but her Quirk also meant they could move around readily, and avoid any sudden or violent drops... Aside from those intended, however!
The teams took two very different strategies, with one side opting to divide their ranks and take a subdued approach, while the other were very much putting their eggs in one dragon-shaped basket. Of course, neither strategy would be punished. Neither team would be unjustly punished, really. However, they would be subject to the unpredictable arena around them, which they would soon be interacting with even more!
The drones that had been circling the arena raised up slightly, the four of them looking down on the students as the fight began, not making any moves just yet. In the meantime, the platforms themselves reconnected fully, the space between them all but imperceptible, as Topsy called out once more.
"Now, let's start mixing things up... Flashing lights means you don't wanna be there, so watch out!"
On that cue, lights began to flicker randomly across the set of nine platforms, just as the first proper attack was unleashed. They would continue to bounce around each platform, before finally setting on a single one. Once the light had flashed for a few moments, that platform would suddenly drop - sharply, falling right before their eyes!
Indeed, it looked like the students would have to keep their eyes peeled and be ready to move, because the platforms they stood on likely weren't going to stick around for the whole match!
