Regret
It was the only emotion that was fueling Fei as she would throw every single piece of furniture in the room and barricade the door. Of all people they would call, they would call the instrument of her pain. His very face reminds her of the scene that was burned into her mind. He was coming to see her and she wanted to run, she wanted to not remember the sight she saw before the match. The pain that she felt, the anger, the sadness, all of it was too much to bear and she just wanted to stay away from it all. No matter the wounds she inflicts, no matter the words she would say to herself, she would never move past it. No matter how many times she would try and tell herself that everything is fine, she would start to remember the cause of her pain again and again. Her body was still recovering from the damage she took but she needed to get moving. They were coming and she needed to get away from there, she couldn't let them see the mess she became. To let them learn why the match went the way it did. She already hurt one friend, she wasnt about to hurt another for the sake of her own.
Every time she would recall it, she would try and make herself forget. She hated these feelings she harbored and she wanted all of it to be gone. It reminded her of what she did and it caused her only more pain for what she did. So many conflicting emotions and yet she couldn't process it all as she would desperately try and battle it up as she did before. She couldn't change the past and she couldn't forgive herself for what she had done.'Why did I say it, Why did I do that, Why did I do that, Why did I d-", she would keep asking herself in her head as she would try to find a way out of her room. It was her cage and she needed to be free, the window was open and but that was a last resort. She needed to get rid of these thoughts and feelings as soon as possible so she could forget all of this.
Why did she do all of this? Why did she say things she said? Was it her true feelings or her emotions getting the better of her? Was she as good a person as she is or was she a monster that would turn feel at the flip of a coin? Nothing was making sense to her as all of her feelings, emotions and memories went haywire as she would scream repeatedly to try and drown out her own thoughts. She would try and find solutions to distract and stop the accursed thoughts. Sleeping it off ,drawing, watching TV, listening to some music, reading on her phone, everything. But the bile and rage would follow her at every moment as she would feel the pain her chest. Everything is going wrong and she can do nothing to fix it. She wanted to run away from it all and just scream at the top of a cliff.
But as she tried as so many times before, she would get held back and restrained by another second year. She would try and get away but he would stop her from jumping out the window. She needed to be free, she needed to get out of there and get as far away as possible. To run away from it all. She needed to scream.
“[smear:#12882e]LET ME GO, LET ME GO, I NEED TO GET OUT OF HERE, LET ME G-[/smear:#bd1f19:0]”, she would scream frantically as she would try and get out of his hold. She wasn’t at full strength and she hadn’t fully recovered so it was quite a fight she had to put up before getting locked down. It was only a matter of time before teacher had to show up and she was damn well not in the mood to be dealing with one when she had her own issues to deal with.

In his defense, he knew Feng and Red were close. Given the latter's desire to help, he had thought it entirely reasonable to let him know that Feng was staying in the infirmary, and ask him to come help console her after her defeat at the hands of Yumi. However, as soon as he had sent the message... All hell broke loose. "Oh, no, you, don't!" The white-haired lad grunted in effort as he restrained his classmate... Despite her injuries, it was no easy feat! Even with the strength of his quirk, who's black blood flowed forth from his body to form restraints around Feng's own. Honestly, the physical strain on his body wasn't the reason why he was grunting as he spoke. It was because of the focus it took to keep the wriggling student in place on the infirmary bed, preventing his quirk from attempting to consume her alive, all the while frantically texting the school chat room.
Because I'm having enough of a hard time treating her without her trying to escape before you get here.
"Look, it's okay. I told him not to come. Sorry, I didn't know..." He still didn't know. But he wasn't the one who had been halfway through the window when he barely managed to drag her back inside with his quirk. A rough movement that wouldn't be any help to her injuries- But would still be far better for her than landing on her legs before treatment was complete! Speaking of which, a spare tendril hooked open the cooler door, fetching a chilled pack to apply to her legs. He was really getting the hang of this quirk!
Or so he would think, if it weren't for the burning in his chest that told him he really needed to let it go soon. But his pleas held no water, "Feng-san, please! I'm begging you! You're in no state to leave! I've already made sure Red-san will be staying away, and... I can't even begin to understand what you're going through. So if you'll let me try, I'm here to listen, and if not, I won't force you!" His words would hold more weight if it weren't for the current three-way conversation between himself, Feng, and his teacher, who would be on her way to do that very talking he was saying he wouldn't force. "But please! Don't injure yourself further! If you don't rest, forget next match, your wounds might not be healed before graduation!"
He was truly out of his depth here. In the first place, he didn't know what was said on the field... Certainly, the loss was a part of it, but he was sure there was more to it. Even as a strict pacifist, he knew that a match shouldn't lead to this level of breakdown. "So please, don't say you want it all to go away!" That was the main concern. Fei's words, spoken on the school chatroom while his back was turned. At the advice of his teacher, the black goo holding Feng, or Fei as she was going by now, he had to stop forgetting that, would swarm, and slip between the girl and her device. He wasn't about to break it, but it was definitely not helping.
He hoped that sensei would be here soon. The only thing he had to offer in this situation was his sincerity... And a quirk that could easily hurt Fei more than she already was.

Never allow someone to be your priority while allowing yourself to be their option.
Tsutsuji Hachi was moving as quickly as she could through the halls of the Valiant Institute to where they had been graciously lending U.A the use of their infirmary during their student tournament. So far she had enjoyed her time in England quite well--she spoke enough conversational English to get through speaking with the fellow instructors, and to order tea from local shops, and thankfully she was recognizable enough at this point in time that most looks her way on the street were of a positive sort. However now was not the time for considering the pleasantries of the United Kingdom.
Right now, she was responding to a rather concerning series of messages in the student chat. After being alerted by one of the students she had logged on to see a familiar name saying some rather dark things. Said student was one of her very own interns--whom had only just finished her match with another one of her interns, appeared to have been the catalyst for this.
Hachi was not against the tournament. She believed it was a chance for the students to flaunt their Quirks and strengths in a controlled environment, in a safe place, and receive attention and praise on a mass scale. Some students desperately needed that sore of thing. Validation came in many forms. If this was how some of them sought it, then so long as they kept it to a good, manageable level, it was fine.
It also had a trend of exposing who took loses badly.
This felt more than just Feng Yao being a sore loser, though. This felt like something with a far deeper-seeded issue that was brought up during the fight, and she was suffering from it while recovering. Hachi had to make sure she was alright, both for her sake and for the sake of her student, Shimizu Haruto, who was left with taking care of her injuries. Injuries were on thing, hidden psychological traumas were quite another.
Hachi reached the door and opened it to...a scene.
"...Shimizu-kun, please feel free to drop your Quirk now. I am more than fast enough to catch Yao-kun if she attempts an escape. Do not strain yourself." Her face, ever an emotionless mask, turned from him to Feng. If she had not calmed the moment Hachi had come in and was still screeching like she had heard her doing down the hall, Hachi would reconsider her words for a moment. But not longer than that. She was more than capable of restraining Feng by herself if she had to. She didn't want to. Feng was her student, her intern, a child in her care whom she cared for greatly.
But she would not allow her to hurt herself, or another.
"Yao-kun," her voice was unwavering--no pity, no anger, no sadness, only a cool and calm dissonance. She had to gauge this situation carefully. She hovered towards the bed she was laying on, trying not to loom, but with her height it was difficult. "Can you explain why you are having such an adverse response to being treated? Why you are posting veiled threats toward your own well-being? If this has to do with your loss in the tournament, I would like to think that you can handle something like a lost fight better than this."
Her voice softened, although her expression could not. "So I am going to assume that there is something else wrong and ask you to tell me what is truly wrong, if you can. If not, I wish you would tell me how I can best help you...that does not involve you leaving until your injuries have been treated. Do you understand?"

The support student holding onto her was quite persistent in his struggles as he restrained her. Unfortunately, his words fell on deaf ears as she attempted to free herself. She needed to get out of this place as quickly as possible to be alone and wanted to sulk in silence. Though she was still acting irrational as she said some concerning things in the chatroom to warrant this sort of response. What prevented her from leaving was the ever present feeling that remained throughout her body. It stung, it burned it ached, it was a multitude of various feelings as she struggled. Fortunately, they took away her phone to prevent more damage than she has already done. All she could do is grunt and bite at the goo as it held onto her.
Momentary relief came when the quirk was undone and she had her freedom of movement. But her previous struggling drained her of her stamina. She did not hear the door open or even notice as her eyes darted around the room for a way out.
But a familiar figure showed herself as she looked for a way out. Her voice was the same as she remembered from her internship and it still held the same authority as it did then. “Yellow Jacket”, were the first words she would respond with. Of course a teacher showed up, with her words and actions so far it was obvious what was going to happen. She held a deep respect for Hachi when she worked with her and it still remained with her now. Though the circumstances are less than favorable due to the sorry state she is in. "You messed up real bad and now we're in some shit', Fei in her head would joke as they stared at the wasp hero.
“I-I….it was something more than that...”, is all that she could respond with as her expression went from agitated to defeated. She can’t find the right words to answer with because she has a point."Yes, that something was seeing a one sided love burst up into flames and seeing the afterma-",Fei would joke as she stared at the window. From everyone else's view, this is the worst case of being a sore loser. But it was more than that but she can’t bring herself to say the truth of it. Jealousy and Anger ain't exactly the best motivation for why her reaction was so extreme. Hachi got to the point as she asked her to tell her what was wrong or how she can help her. It got quiet after that for a few seconds as she pondered on her response. She can;t say the truth, the truth can only make it worse for her as already is. Just recaling the event in detail makes her seethe but she took a deep breath.
“It’s...complicated to explain and I want to request that you don’t tell anyone else about this…”

Never allow someone to be your priority while allowing yourself to be their option.
There was a moment's pause between Feng saying her hero name aloud and Hachi's brief response: "You do not need to address me so formally, Yao-kun. I'm not your leader right now, I'm your teacher. Tsutsuji-sensei is acceptable." And with that she took a seat at the foot of the bed Feng was still seated in, despite being released. She had not made a break for it, so already there was some amount of progress being made here. Good. And as she had surmised there was more than just the loss in the tournament that was bothering her. Feng had not seemed like the sort of person who would fall apart over something like this.
Yet there was a lot of pressure put on the students to preform to their best ability during this festival. Hachi could see where that may cause it's own problems.
As Feng gave something like the start of a conversation, though, Hachi felt a sigh want to escape her. She wanted this to remain between themselves. As much as Hachi wanted to promise such a thing, she had to make a few exceptions clear. "I accept your request. However, if what you have to tell me makes me fear for your well-being, physically or mentally or emotionally, I will not be able to keep it a 'secret'. Similarly if I fear that you are going to harm somebody else I will act accordingly. I'm sworn to help all of my students--that includes yourself, of course. But I must also report concerning or alarming behavior to those above me."
"I'm not going to judge you for anything you have to say. And even if I feel like I need to bring this up with my higher-ups I will not give them more information than is absolutely necessary." She nodded once. "If you are still alright with telling me, I will listen."

Feng is ....hesitant to say the least, she can trust her teacher with secrets but this was something that sounds so childish in hindsight. She’d try and speak but her voice couldn't come out as she felt so ashamed looking back on it. The very thought of it makes her cringe at how she acted. The voice in her head didn't do much either as it was more akin to her brother in many aspects aside from being more strong willed.
But nevertheless, she found it quite difficult to talk about to say the least. Being straightforward isn't going to help right now and she needed something else to talk about. She needed an out that can be taken as truth but for the life of her she can’t find it. “What's the matter? Cat got your tongue?”, the voice in her head that she instinctively calls Fei chimes in. “Are you going to explain the sorry tale of your failed love or are you going to make this all seem like a tantrum over losing? Either way it looks bad”, it continued on as she tried to recall the painful memory.
Feng chooses to ignore her remark as she began to answer slowly and methodically. Trying to keep her calm and clear tone as she spoke.
“I...I...Its an i-issue that is between Yumi and I and….its related to a few things...I..just don’t want to blurt it out…”, she responded with a slight hesitation in her voice. “It happened before the match and I-I was….going to meet her before the match started to wish her the best of luck and….”, she desperately tries to speak but the moment she comes to the scene, she feels a pain deep in her chest as she begins to tear up yet again. “God dammit, not again...I’m sorry...”, she said as the tears ran down her face as she curled up on the bed. It was a painful memory still fresh in her mind as she couldn't stop the tears from flowing. All of it was too much to unpackage and all she can feel is a storm of negative emotions.
“Oh so now you’re feeling regret? What happened to all of those feelings before? Were they all fake”,Fei smacks her yet again with some hard hitting questions as Feng tries to regain her composure as she started to sob yet again.

Never allow someone to be your priority while allowing yourself to be their option.
Were she a more cynical mind, Hachi may have thought something like "Wow, a lot of people are crying on me these days". Hachi wasn't the sort of person to think such things...or at least not at this exact moment.
Instead, as she saw Feng's eyes start to shine with tears, she adjusted her body on the bed so there was less space between herself and Feng, and hovered a claw over her shoulder just as the poor girl closed in on herself. "May I touch you?" She spoke softly, but not so much that it would be hard to hear her over Feng's sobs. If she wasn't rebuffed then Hachi would place her hands on Feng's shoulders and gently squeeze them. A small reminder that somebody was here, and listening, and was holding onto her and wouldn't let her fall.
"Don't apologize for feeling the way you feel. Ever. Your feelings are entirely your own and they're never 'wrong' or 'silly' or anything like that. You're allowed to be sad, you're allowed to be angry, you're allowed to be upset. It's what you do with those feelings that makes you better, or worse. And I want to help you with that."
What could have caused such a rift, though, between two students who seemed to be thick as thieves so fast? She'd seen nothing brewing behind Yumi and Feng's friendly interactions during their internship, nor had there been anything in the chat--when she had been paying attention--that would implying one was being mean to the other. She, Yumi, and a few others seemed to even be good friends. So if it wasn't some manner of bullying, what could suddenly cause an...
...hmm. Who were those few others, again? Who were they? How close were they to Feng, and to Yumi?
Was there any one in particular that was...favored?
Hachi had never experienced attraction. Whether that was a byproduct of her Quirk not giving her much choice in her sexuality, or just because of personal preference, she'd never know for sure. But she had been a teenager once and she had seen friendships torn asunder by many a poorly-timed confession. Or worse.
She knew Yumi was currently living off-campus with a male student in their grade. It was a little scandalous, but it wasn't illegal or against the rules so long as it was, well, not in the dormitories. What was his name?
Actually, I shouldn't be the one to suggest that this is over a boy. It would be worse if I made it appear like it was obvious--and I might still be very wrong, and make it sound like I expect this to be over "teenage drama".
For now it would be best to let Feng say it aloud.

Feng couldn't stop the tears as it all came forth, it was a feeling she despised so much. The pain in her chest was heavy and all she can feel is a maelstrom of emotions. She couldn’t find the willpower to stop the tears as she started to recall the events in vivid detail. The feelings of betrayal, sadness, and rage were fresh in her heart. She trusted her and to witness an unexpected exchange like that...well it did more than a large number on her state of mind.
After that, she only recalled bits and pieces and felt a deep regret after she woke up in the hospital room. She feels sorry for how she acted but a part of her doesn't, a large part of her was resolved to go further and further in some sort of twisted payback. Knowing she betrayed them, she can’t even hope to say reconcile after what she did. She hated herself for doing what she did but felt a sense of relief as she let her anger guide her actions.
Sobbing continued as she felt Hachi’s hand on her back. It was a nice gesture as she cried but there was no end to it. No end to the deep pit she dug herself into as she heard Hachi’s words. She took a moment to consider her words, to hope that she can say it without remorse but each attempt had her choke up before she could get the proper words out. Delusions were going wild she wondered how long they were doing this without her knowing. Was it all a facade and she was the fool? Were they laughing at her as she played the third wheel?...Did they even care about her in the first place if they were already like this? All of these questions started to go through her mind as she buried her head in her legs.
“Th-Thank you…”, she’d weakly replied as she mustered up the courage to speak her thoughts on the matter.”....Yumi and I have been….working together for the past few days...training...hanging out and everything...I thought everything was going well until...i stumbled upon…” she got out before she began to cry again. “...I felt betrayed.. And angry and...I didn't want to believe it but….”, she squealed out before the flood of tears came back. "I just want to crawl into a hole and just never come out..."

Never allow someone to be your priority while allowing yourself to be their option.
Hachi listened, her claws gently running back and forth, up and down, on Feng's back as she sobbed. Crying was concept to Hachi rather than something she could do--her eyes did not allow for tears, even when she was at her lowest. Yet she'd seen so many people cry in just the last couple of years alone. Was this normal for people their age? Would Hachi have cried so much had she been able to? Or was it just that there was so much stress within these children that every sorrow, ever heartbreak, felt like the end of their lives.
...because in some cases, it can be?
She pushed those thoughts aside and listened. And as she did, she wondered. She had made some small assumptions that this was to do with some personal relationship between her and Yumi. She had thought it might be a boy. But, honestly, as she listened to her she had to wonder: was this because a boy picked Yumi over Feng, or because Yumi picked a boy over Feng?
Or, well, even both. Heartbreak didn't need to be in a romantic sense. Hachi knew that very well herself.
If Feng felt like her friend was leaving her for somebody else--or that both her friend and one she liked were going on without her--it could be crushing.
Hence, why it was called a crush.
"I would much rather you did not. I like my student being out in the world, especially ones I see a great deal of potential in like yourself. I do not want to make any assumptions on what this issue was about, so...if you can, please spell it out for me as best you are able; how were you betrayed? I swear I will not find it childish, or find it irresponsible, no matter the reason."

A weak attempt at a chuckle can be heard from Feng as she heard the reply Hachi made about her crawling into a hole comment. But the pain returned as she can't find the strength to smile or even think positively as the storm was raging inside her head and she cant help but just sob. It eventually came to a stop as her tears had run out but the pain remained deep in her chest as she wanted to say what was on her mind but she was so nervous what others would think of her. She always held it deep inside, she always bottled it up and kept her usual persona to hide it all. Lying to everyone and herself that she was okay and for a moment she believed it as she was starting to get comfy and...well that happened. It was massive kick in the teeth that she needs to vent out and it seems Hachi shares the same opinion as her as she began to ask for an explanation. Mustering up the courage and energy that she has, she began to speak in a defeated and weak tone as words left her mouth.
“I….was resolved to confess to one way crush I’ve been holding onto for the better part of the year after all of this was done...a stupid stupid one at that..”, she opened up as she closed her eyes and continued.”..At the same time..I've slowly became friends with Yumi and began to trust her..” she explained as much as she could before she took a deep breath and exhaled. “...Fast forwarding to now as I was going to say some stuff to Yumi before our match…” she kept saying before her words got weaker and weaker. “...and I promptly learned that the crush and her got together or have been together for a bit in the worst way possible and after they repeatedly said that they weren't a thing and now they were living together and the snowstorm and the meeting with her family and then all of my emotions came out at once and I began to look at my friend with eyes of anger and jealousy a-”, she cut herself off before she said anymore as another tear rolled down her face. Taking a few minutes to recollect her emotions as the pain in her chest burned even more.
“...that is my reason for why I'm a pathetic mess...all because of an unrequited love and I impulsively burned two bridges for the price of one...feel free to scold me...I deserve it at this point...no amount of time is going to mend this…” she stared at the floor as the tears rolled down her face.
