The five elements.
Earth, the energy element. Part of everything, resistant to shifts throughout the world, an immovable object. To be so still and yet so durable, one needs to master total body control and minimize input from outside sources. Never lower your guard, never show weakness, never disrupt yourself.
Water, the flowing element. Adapting, like a river, calmly watching, observing as it approaches the destination, following through. Like the seasons, it changes, giving new options and new ways to flow, always following through as any task should. Remain calm, remain steady, remain two steps ahead.
Fire, the raging element. Coursing through the forests, breaking down the creations of the planet in a never-ending, ceaseless sensation. Passionate, it seeks to disrupt and offset any incursion, no matter what that may mean for itself. Break their guard, break their body, break whatever plan they have.
Air, the free element. Growing and expanding as far as it can, the winds of where we stand transfer quickly from one place to the other. Always finding new gaps to move through, it will refuse to let up, thinking towards where to flow next. Move consistently, move to where they would not expect, move when compromised.
And Void, the empty element. Inevitable in it's endlessness, it is both everything and nothing, with limitless potential, always providing life when there is death, and vice versa. Acting in a way that inspires creativeness and invention, it must be kept with the other elements, lest it destroy itself. Without thought, without emotion, without sense.
After months of searching both physically, mentally, and spiritually, these Five Elements would impact Tsuji Kuma's fighting ability, tapping into the base powers of the world through combat. Earth, defending. Water, countering. Fire, aggressing. Air, accelerating. Void, removing. A perfect quintuple of stances, entirely committing to a true fighting philosophy. But there was still worry, anguish, even, as in a state of ideal symmetry, the call of the Void was a strange and unknowable element. So he hid it. It would remain alone, deep in the back of his mind, stored with all his unknowable memories he wished to take aback. Attacking a friend, wrongfully helping a man, it was the sector of his mind he would never dare go.
And so it would hide, a commodity of nothing and everything. Ying without Yang. Fire without smoke. Sun without Moon. Put out of sight, in order to gain strength with the base elements. If you cannot learn to harness it without issue, then why harness it at all? Leave it behind. All the philosophies of war and battle raged on, continuing forever, carried on the back of yet another disciple, towing behind the winning card, a strategy never to be used due to its danger.
Before the festival, Tsuji visited the place where he first encountered someone new to him, back in the forest on the outskirts of the city. He laid there, looking up towards the pale sky. In order to recreate the same, he left the hostel during the night, and lay down his body, staring up at the endless dark sky. A shooting star passed by, flying across the blackness like a string of light, winding down into the furthest corner of the universe. As he saw it, Tsuji thought long and hard: an event like that aroused superstition, and he believed it would answer him. Calling out in his mind, he made his thoughts clear.
“I want to be a great hero. A strong hero, who can make people happy.”
All he'd ever wanted, all he ever imagined; Tsuji Kuma, hero, standing tall, representing the world around him, never being cruel, cowardly, or dishonest. A beacon of hope for everyone, he could help anyone he could, always striving for a better tomorrow. He would make it one day. And as the comet cluster of rapid light burnt through out of sight, he smiled, and remained still, watching as the sky kept moving towards a future where he could be the ideal man he'd always dreamt of being. Of course, he would train the next day, in order to fashion this goal into a real one. But seeing that shooting star, that pillar of luck, it made him feel reassured. An idea that would manifest through his own sheer willpower. A thought carried by nature.
A wish in the dark.
