As Red sat in the waiting room, foot tapping on the floor in nervous anticipation for what was about to happen outside......and couldnt help but find himself grinning like a dumb idiot thinking about the past few days. Of course, he hadnt exactly told anyone about what had happened between him and Yumi since, you know, they would probably get him in trouble somehow and since her parents were in attendence, he didnt wanna have to deal with her Dad murdering him for what they'd ended up doing but......he didnt really care about that anyway. He was just happy that he finally didnt have to bury a hole so deep he could reach china in his brain to bury all his feelings about her in......plus you know, getting/giving a good luck kiss to your girlfriend right before a match would make anyone feel fuckin fantastic, right?
Still.....as relaxed as he was, he knew that he wasnt just gonna win due to having a girlfriend. Its not like she could rub his shoulders mid match and give him emotional support or anything. Not that he'd.....well it would be nice but he didnt exactly want help to get through this tournement. If he was gonna win, he was gonna win with his own two hands.......after all, he'd bragged that he was gonna meet Yumi in the finals as she sent him off, and he was gonna make DAMN SURE that he lived up to that promise.....even if he'd get fried in under thirty seconds if he did get up there.
But now wasnt the time to think of the future. He still had three matches to get through, and they wouldnt be easy. Especially not the first one, against a Guy called Luka. The only things he knew about the guy was that his last name was Eisenburg, so he was Elises brother, his quirk was kind of similar? He didnt actually know he was just assuming that, and that he was posted his shower thoughts all the time in UA chat. Like how going to sleep was just connecting to a server or somethin, it was a tad weird to be honest. Kinda funny though.
He wasnt about to underestimate the guy though, as far as he was aware he'd been at UA for a long time before Red showed up....so that meant he had 6 more months of experience, training, and quirk development over him. And since Red hadnt been able to find any footage of him from sports fest last year, he was pretty much going into this fight blind...which was fine by him, it just meant figuring out how to counter him FAST, a skill he'd been working on even before UA.
After what felt like an eternity, Red'd hear his name get called out, stepping up to the metaphorical plate that was his side of the arena. All he had to do was walk out there, somehow win the match, and everything would be fine. Hopefully he could do that with minimal injury but he wasnt gonna get his hopes up. As the announcer started to call his name though.....he had a feeling that someone may have wanted to fuck with him just a little bit.
And now, coming from the Red corner, We have a kid who's known for blowing himself constantly!" He'd hear over the loud speakers, his eyebrow raising a little. "He's also known for being an idiot who literally cant say no to helping people, and is generally a dense moron!" They'd continue, and Red would feel his eye start to twitch a little bit. Oh......who the hell thought it was a good idea to give the announcer my rap sheet? He'd ask himself, while the announcer decided to continue listing off everything.
"Dont say you need money or hate something around him, otherwise he'll rush off to go fix your problem! He even made it his Job! But enough of that, its time to introduce Ua's favourite delivery boy, explodernator, and my favourite trash can, Red!! Ironic that he's in the Red corner, isnt it?" The announcer guy would finish, and Red just breathed a sigh of.....well not annoyance, more....annoyed relief or something. He was kinda tryin to not laugh too.
"....Goddammit it Yumi, why do you gotta make me find you even more adorable, for gods sake." He'd say to himself, with a massive, dumbass grin on his face. How could he not after that? On a serious note though, he couldnt be happy forever, getting his laughs outta him before preparing himself for the fight ahead.
He may have started the year way later than everyone else, had to do boot camp to even get into the second year, and made one hell of a fool of himself last year, but right now, Red was ready to show as many people as he could just how far he'd come in the year since he started. He just had to bloody hope it was enough to take him to the finals.

Luka wasn't quite sure what to think of this event, coming all the way to Britain to then fight against his peers for the amusement of whoever was watching. Still, it had gotten him away from the various stresses of home, his last conversation with his sister still festering in his mind, his mother's distance, his own lack of any real social interactions. Sighing slightly, the small blue haired teen tried to let go of all of that, now was not the time for introspection and self doubt. Now was the time of sword and claw and whatever else took his fancy, it was the time to let everything else fade away and allow himself to show what he was capable of. Last year's sports festival had been lackluster for him, the group task hadn't really allowed him to do much and really his mind had been elsewhere. This year, he had decided it would be different, he would be different.
He would be better.
Eyes sliding partially closed, Luka began to focus his mind and body as best he could, trying to connect to the part of him that was more combatative, competitive, and... predatory. Lukas von Eisenberg was a small, effeminate looking boy, cheerful, energetic, friendly. His quirk gave him the body of a slime, often considered one of the lowest forms of monster in many RPGs. But not all slimes were the same, and Lukas' quirk was registered as 'Infernal Slime' for a reason. He was, at heart, a predator, young though he may be his quirk was not like Elise's, it was nastier, darker even, and that was something he had dealt with ever since it manifested. Today he was going to forget all the things that bothered him and instead he was going to allow his quirk driven instincts a bit of free reign, after all if he couldn't go all out against a peer then who could he go all out with? For this fight he had to cease to be Luka, and not even Lukas would suffice, it was time to put on the persona of Genesis even if he wouldn't call himself by that name here and now.
Genesis did not know much about his opponent, his inward focus during his time at U.A. meant he hadn't really interacted with too many of his peers, and he hadn't even bothered reviewing the previous year's Sports Festival. There was no point to doing so, not for him to really see what he was capable of. Instead he would have to learn and learn quickly, to make sure that he didn't end up embarassing himself out there in front of the various individuals watching what he did. If he lost, he wanted it to be a loss worthy of his abilities, but really he would rather win. With the sound of his name being called, he emerged from his waiting room to the sight of the crowd, and the ring. He couldn't help the small grin that spread across his face at the replica of Stone Henge.
"Coming in from the Blue corner, we have 2A's own philosopher, the one who has given me almost nothing to work with for an introduction, the ironically blue haired.... Lukas von Eisenberg!" the announcer declared as he stepped into the ring. With the various stones of the fake Henge between them, Genesis could not see his opponent, the angles of entry meaning that their corners were blocked from each other's view. That suited him just fine. "ALRIGHT, LET RED VS BLUE BEGIN! FIGHT!"
With the start announced, Genesis sped towards the nearest stone, his body seeming to meld with it as he took his slime form, the translucent blue gel mimicking the texture and colour of the stone as he spread his form out and around the rock, pressing himself as close to the surface as he could to hide amidst the stones of the henge. Sliding up to near the top, he clung beneath one of the top stones that formed one of the henge's many 'doorways', his every sense alert as he tried to locate his opponent and prepare himself for the fight to come. Thus hidden, he would wait for Red to come to him... for now at least.

"Aight, enough of that. Time to get my game on." Red'd tell himself as he got the final laughs out. By now Luka's pretty brief intro was done....and Red wished it was longer. Not just because he hoped the other guy got clowned on too, but also cause it would have hopefully given him info on his opponent. Unfortunatly, all he knew was that he was ironically facing a guy with blue hair and that he was a Philospher or something.....Red prefered chroniclers, honestly.
[smear:#1979e6]Ah fuckin....why now, goddammit?[/smear:#ff0000:1] He'd ask himself, the mere thought of his old room mate sending a shock of pain through his head....luckily it dissipated pretty fast with a quick head shake, but he needed to make sure his thoughts didnt drift like that again if he wanted to win this thing. Why the hell did his head keep doing that?
Luckily, the bell didnt ring until after he got his composure back....mostly, still had a dull pain in his head but it was ignorable for now. Thanks to the stone being in the way of their starting positions, Red couldnt see the guy, which....was a very good thing, he didnt want to give him the advantage of knowing that he had a head ache. That was a weakness to be exploited in a fight like this, and like hell he was gonna lose cause of a stupid headache that wouldnt leave him alone.
Once the bell did ring, Red would speed off in a straight line, intending to rush the guy head on with a sword already made in his hand. He'd been generating wind since he first came out, so all it'd take was a quick boost and some slight manuvering through the rocks, and he'd be on the other side in almost an instant, right in his opponents face. It was a rash plan, but it'd give him info depending on how the opponent reacted. If they tried running for it, it meant that he might have an advantage close range. If they didnt and came at him, it meant they were also ready to get into a fist fight. If they just stood there and took it, it meant they were confident they could take a beating.
So, Emerging from the rocks pretty fast, Red'd turn his eyes staight forward to Luka's percived start position, expecting to see a blue haired slime guy standing there....and he found nothing. Taking a quick look around the surroundings, there wasnt a hint of blue in sight. Hell, there wasnt even any slime trail or anything, just....nothing. "......Huh?" he'd ask himself. The guy had...actually come out right? Like if he'd darted into the rocks aswell Red would have atleast seem him, right? If he went around em then Red woulda seen dust or a trail or something but.....the hell?
Rubbing his head in confusion, he'd dig through his brain to try and find a reasoning for what was occuring at the moment....and realise a very, very important fact. This guy was Elises Brother. Now, not to say he knew Elise that well, only really interacting with her on UA chat and that one time when he watched her fight with her weird slime clone, he'd remember a few things. First off.....Elise was good at being stealthy, Atleast if her weird ninja garb was anything to go off of....and the fact she could turn into slime, if he remembered right. Second, she could make clones of herself. Third, Lyse, that weird sentiant clone, could copy appearances.
Of course, he was basing this off of a familal heritage, so his info was shaky at best, but it all pointed to one conclusion: Luka may have been hiding inside the fake Stone Henge. If he was lucky, atleast.......which meant that he was a tad fucked. He didnt need to count to realise that there were a LOT of boulders around, so if his theory was correct, then it'd mean he had no idea where the guy was until he wanted to jump him, which.....hoo boy, that'd be a tough thing to fight against.
This gave Red two options: Either he could A) Just circle the arena and wait for the guy to get bored or his quirk to start taking its toll on him, so he'd have to give up his disguise....or B) Start shooting every boulder he saw and try and willingly spring the guys trap......and Red knew which one would be more fun for everyone.
So, taking careful consideration for where Luka coulda moved too in the short time since the round started, Red would start sending warning shots to each boulder in his general vicinity, while walking around, leaving small pot holes in each one. He didnt exactly know what he was lookin for, but anything weird was gonna get shot at. Even if he didnt hit the guy, this would probably spook him enough to get him to move or something.......atleast, he fuckin hoped.
For all Red knew, the guy had just done the exact same thing he did was gonna come around and kick his ass. But if he did get lucky, then he was about to eat one hell of a volley of wind powered lead. He could always fire the sword he had generated at him, too, if he did find him. "Hey, are we fighting? Or playing hide and seek?" He'd taunt, not that it'd do much of anything, really.

Hidden as he was on one of the 'cross beam' stones, Genesis was rather surprised as his opponent darted around the henge to appear at the blue corner at inhuman speeds. The slime boy went still as soon as he noticed Red, having spread his body thinly enough over the stone that it didn't really stand out while disguised like this. Taking in his opponent, Genesis was quickly coming to the realisation that he would probably only have one chance at this, with that level of speed he was going to have a hard time pinning the other boy down, and something told Luka that he was equally outmatched in most realms with this guy. That didn't mean he was going to just give up of course, but it did mean he'd have to play careful, and play to his strengths.
He watched carefully as the other teen began looking around, obviously confused by the situation, the slime's body completely still and hidden as he waited, body alert and ready to react if need be. But besides that he was still, he was calm, he was the predator here and Red was his prey. Sure, it was a dangerous prey, but he had little choice, he needed to try to win. As Red continued to look around, Genesis extended a single tendril of slime from the main part of his body, the appendage pressing against the faux stone that he hid against and carefully, quietly, scooping out a small chunk of it. This tendril was on the opposite side of the stone from red, so the subtle movements should be impossible to notice, his ooze-like body seeping through the rock's weakpoints. Genesis watched as his prey began to move slowly, taking pot-shots at the stones of the henge with bursts of wind that gouged little holes in the stone. He ignored the other's words, knowing that to give himself away would only end in his ambush failing.
Luckily it seemed that Red was falling into that oh so common problem that belonged to most humans, the lack of consideration for three dimensional space. Each burst of wind was aimed at around person level, at least for the moment, while Genesis was quite high up on the stones, meaning he was safe from the probing attacks. Waiting for a few moments as he tried to guess Red's pattern of movement, Genesis threw the chunk of stone from an angle outside of Red's vision, the sound of it clattering off in the distance intended to draw his prey deeper into the circles of the henge. At the same time, the slime had begun burrowing through the stone as best he could, it wasn't easy by any means, but he was able to shred steel, so stone didn't stand too much of a chance against him. It was superficial, and a little slow, his body dragging the dust and chunks of stone up the tendril and depositing it on top of one of the stones he clung to as he tried his best to burrow.
Watching, waiting, Genesis would prepare as it seemed that Red was coming past the pillar of rock he had burrowed through, it wasn't a deep hole, just a few inches, but enough that it might seem like he was coming from within the stone itself. As Red walked past the stone on the opposite side of Genesis' position, the slime boy would push his slime out of the last layer of rock, a translucent blue gel shooting towards the boy like a spear at the other boy's knee level, attempting to skewer Red's leg enough to hinder his movement. With just enough of his slime extended for him to be able to see his target, his aim wouldn't be as bad as it could have been.
Regardless of whether or not he struck true, Genesis would disconnect the tendril of slime from his body, the appendage losing cohesion and slumping into a puddle beneath Red's feet once he was sure he had either hit or missed. That done he would slowly pull back his body, bringing it to the top of the stone while trying his best to remain hidden, he wasn't quite ready to go on a full blown attack, not yet, he needed to tilt the deck in his favour some more first. This was a tricky situation, and one he was struggling to figure out. He would have loved to have just gone all out with the other boy, but having seen the way he moved, he wasn't confident that he could just yet. He needed to make sure that he was dealing with the other Heroics student within the rings of the henge, and that he got the first proper attack in. Without this, he doubted he had much of a chance to win, he had to rely on his intellect rather than his raw strength. Another thing to work on, to make sure that he didn't fall further and further behind.
This was an exhibition match though, and he knew he couldn't stay hidden for too much longer, and so he moved slowly and carefully across the top of the stone, keeping well away from the point where he attacked Red, and settling himself into position on another cross bar, waiting as calmly as he could for the other boy to move into a position where he could properly attack. He had to stay hidden just a little longer, throw his opponent off just a little more, so that he stood even an inkling of a chance of victory. He wanted to win after all.

Yeah, thats how i figured you'd react. Red'd think as he took more pot shots at every boulder in sight. They werent particually aimed well, hitting in random spots all over the place, but he wasnt really intending for them to hit the guy. Sure, it'd be nice, but his odds of doing that were real low. Luckily for him this didnt take much outta him to do, and it was better than just waiting for him to get bored. Plus this way he could gather a little more info on the guy....not much, but the fact that he'd not atleast spooked him yet meant that he was calm....and more than willing to run out the clock in this situation.
Still, Red wouldnt be deterred. It was probably boring watching him blow a pot hole in every boulder he came across, but it didnt matter. It was becoming clear at this point that the guy wasnt gonna budge until he had an assurance that he could ambush him and have the advantage....and if thats what it took to get the guy to come outta hiding, then Red would glady walk into it. After all, how was he gonna punch a guy in the face if he didnt even know where said face was?
Walking around, Red would start evalutating possible ambush points. If it was him? He'd be hanging out around the corner of one of the inner pillars, not many sight lines on ya there, and plently of places to slip away too.....atleast for a few seconds. The cross beams were also a good substitute , he could hang off one of those just enough so no one could see, or have a chance to strike before they clocked where he was....he wondered if Luka had a similar mindset.
His suspicious were all but confirmed by the clattering of a rock close by. Spinning and aiming directly at it, There was still no Luka, but the stone was clearly bait to draw him in closer, into the ambush lying in wait for him.....well, if he was going to prepare for him so much, then it'd be rude for him to not go and find out what the surprise was, right? So, keeping an eye out on his surroundings, Red would carefully start to creep his way towards where the sound was. The creeping was probably unnecessecary, since the guy could probably see him from wherever he was hiding....but he had to keep up apperences.
Its a golden rule of fighting: Never let the opponent know what your actual state is. Bluff that you're fine so that they dont realise your ribs just broke, or feign that your arm just got fucked when its infact fine, to make your opponent cocky and get a cheap swing in when they start taunting/trying to capitalize. Here? All he had to do was make Luka thing he was a fuckin idiot....and with his reputation around campus? It shouldnt have been that hard.....hopefully.
So, watching his ass, he'd walk close by to where Luka was lying in ambush for him, seemingly unaware to what what about to happen....but lucky for Red, Luka hadnt burrowed through the rock entirely. At the second his slime burst through the stone pillar, Red tried to fully dodge it. Of course, this was impossible with how the attack had formulated, but thanks to Red already being aware that some shit like this could probably happen if Luka was planning an Ambush, instead of getting his leg skewered, it was a superficial cut to his shin......still made some blood fly, though.
"AH, MY FUCKIN LEG!" Red would cry out, making the damage seem way worse than it was, as he tried to rush back in and grab that tendril...but his now, totally hindered leg would stop him, causing him to be JUST slow enough for the slime to be able to disintergrate as he grabbed it. Getting totally frustrated at this, he'd try and drive the sword he'd had since the start into the rock, but it was clearly too late. All he'd do was leave a sword shaped hole in both sides of it. "Fuckin bastard....got my fuckin leg, dammit." He'd complain, totally very mad about having a new limp, pulling a bandage outta one of his pouches and quickly tieing it around the wound. It wouldnt do anything for him medically, since it was just a bandage, but it'd serve its purpose
Luka might still have had eyes on him, so he couldnt give up the act too soon. So, instead of walking calmly around trying to find him, he'd start to slightly limp, holding his leg with his free arm to really sell it. He'd start limping slower too, making himself bait for whatever Luka was planning next....and he'd be ready for it. He could still generate a hell of a lot of wind....and next time Luka tried to ambush him? He had a plan on how to use it. So, he'd do exactly what Luka wanted, limping further into Stone Henge look alike, wondering when Luka was gonna try ambushing him again.

Luka might have been an energetic boy, but right now he wasn't Luka, he was Genesis, and Genesis was a predatory creature, his human mindset taking second seat to the instincts of his unusual physiology. When he struck Red with the tendril he didn't feel the surge of excitement he might have, nor did he begin to think he had the upper hand. Instead, he assessed the situation and determined that there was no way for him to win in a straight up fight. At least, not yet. He needed to have a clear advantage, rather than simply a perceived one, or he was never going to progress. As the other boy began to tie his bandage, Genesis slowly shifted to a new location, keeping out of the other boy's sightlines and moved down the side of the stone. Settling on the ground, he manipulated his shape more as he spread his slime around, forming a layer of 'grass' and 'stone' around the base of one of the archways. But he didn't just move places, he left a little part of himself behind, a tendril of slime left atop the nearby pillar of stone waiting for Red to come within view. At the same time another tendril wrapped itself around the same stone and spread outwards, camoflaged to remain as hidden as possible until he needed it. It was starting to strain him to be so spread out, but he didn't need to do it for too long. He just needed a few moments. Once Red moved into a position where his lure would be visible, Genesis began his next performance. In an instant the tip of the tendril inflated, forming a small blue orb with lines in its 'front' to simulate eyes, the small gel form apparently staring down at his opponent.
"Hi hi~" he said cheerfully, his voice emerging from the orb, "you know swearing isn't very heroic, ne~?" Without missing a beat, a small tentacle of slime shot out towards Red, aiming to whip at the other boy's face. At the same time, the disguised tendril lower down the stone extended like a spear aiming towards the white haired youth's legs, the true attack aimed at once more crippling Red's ability to move. The two attacks would hurtle towards Red as quickly as Genesis could move, the brunt of the attack depending on how the other moved. Whichever tendril Red tried to defend against, it would be the other that would bear the full strength, Genesis attempting to trick his opponent into blocking something that wasn't worth blocking. It would have been better if both attacks had been at his full strength, but he just couldn't pull that off as if yet. Maybe in the future. Regardless of how the attack went off, Genesis would deal with his slime in one of two ways. If there was a chance of retracting the slime back into his main body without Red being able to trace it, he would do so, otherwise he would simply sacrifice that slime as well in order to avoid being tracked back to his core mass. "Bye bye~" the lure chirped as it melted into a puddle of slime, seemingly vanishing from view to the other Second Year student. A few meters away Genesis sat calmly in his disguise, keeping a close view on Red's progress and generally preparing for whatever was to come. Beneath his body, his slime was digging into the soft dirt, carefully excavating a tunnel approximately a centimeter in diameter and extending a tendril down its' length, branching it out throughout the arena as he waited for his prey to arive. With the size of the hole he wouldn't have to worry about the displaced earth, as he simply compressed it somewhat through his wormlike movements. Thus anchored and able to escape via the small tunnel, the slime boy sat still and waited for his opponent to get close enough to attack, most of his focus either on watching what Red was up to, or keeping himself perfectly still and camoflaged. It wouldn't do him any good to be spotted before he was ready to attack after all, otherwise his preparations would be for nothing.

"Limping" around the arena, Red was seemingly starting to get a little impatient. His slow limp had stopped, instead replaced with an almost power walk level pace, seething with pain every few steps thanks to his totally fucked up leg. His eyes, meanwhile, were darting around, taking in his surroundings and realising just how much Luka had the advantage here. The guy could hide super fuckin well apparently, and with him being able to carve through stone? Well, that just meant that Red could literally be attacked from anywhere. Ironic, considering he was currently surrounded by stone walls, but he wasnt exactly in a laughing mood right now. All he could hope for was that his act was working a little....and for Luka to slip up just a little. After all.....it wasnt the first time he'd been stabbed by slime.....and last time made this feel like a goddamn breeze in comparison.
[smear:#1979e6]Ah, come on, really? Stop being a piece of absolute shit, head.[/smear:#ff0000:1] Red would tell himself, putting the back of his sword hand to his head while wincing from the spike of pain shooting through his head......Atleast that would hopefully help to sell his act to Luka, right? Either way, luckily, Red wouldnt have to wait long to get a shot at Luka again. His head at been watching out for anything suspicious, and after a couple seconds found something very suspicious.....a ball of slime staring at him like a smug little prick.
"Neither is hiding in a buncha rocks when you're supposed to be fightin, Prick." Red would spit venom back, only pretending to be serious with his words.....if he was gonna be honest, the guy was playing real smart, but he couldnt admit that in the middle of a fight, could he? Aight....wheres the attack gonna come from this time? Red would ponder, right as "Luka" decided to shoot a slime tentacle out at his face. Prepping his sword to just shoot it at the guy, Reds eyes would instead be fixed somewhere else....trying to figure out where the second attack was gonna come from. He wasnt fooled by this at all, there was no way that was really him.
After all, with how Luka had been playing so far, just coming out and attacking him straight up would either mean he was VERY confident that Reds leg was already fucked and he could take him now, or.....that he was gonna make damn sure that leg was screwed up. So, casting his gaze downwards to where his injury was, Red would be proven correct, by a second tendril coming in like a spear again, to try and actually cripple his leg this time. Red wasnt sure if it was just for a gurantee or because Luka wasnt buying it, but he wasnt about to lose a leg here.
So, he'd twist his leg rather clumsily away, in an attempt to feint that his leg was fucked, and once again take a slash to it, further up on his leg this time, superfically on his thigh.....didnt stop blood from flying around, though. "GODDAMMIT, AGAIN?" Red would yell, slashing at the tendril with his sword to hopefully slash it in twain and deny Luka the satisfaction of getting away with this with no downsides on his end.
At the same time, the tentacle coming for his face would hopefully be dealt with by him firing his blade directly at "Luka", which.....he wasnt sure if it would work, but it was atleast gonna deny the guy the slime he'd used to create this little ambush....hopefully, it was how Kaz's metal slime worked after all, so it'd be similar here, rig-- [smear:#1979e6]Ah, God FUCKING DAMMIT HEAD![/smear:#ff0000:1] Red would wince out in pain, from the combined pain of his head, his totally, very debilitating leg cut, and the stab at his hand that caused his hilt to fly out of his hand, a fair distance away.
"Son of a bitch......JUST COME OUT AND BLOODY FIGHT ME ALREADY!" Red would shout angrily, a little bit of genunine annoyance behind his act this time, taking another couple basic bandages out of his pouch and tying it around his hand and leg while he limped forwards, still wincing in pain. His hand wasnt that badly injured in all honesty, but it might hurt a little to punch the guy after all this was over....atleast his legs were still safe, so he could still move around pretty well....not that Luka would know, with his limping around. He was still nowhere to be seen, but hopefully attacking his slime had denied him the chance to get it back.....god he hoped he wasnt wrong with that assumption.
Either way, once he was done, Red would take a look around to see if he was "Safe", and then move towards his hilt to try and pick it up.....eyes on his surroundings as he slowing crouching down to grab it, still showing signs of being in pain, knowing full well that Luka was probably watching him......and he'd be ready to launch a counter if he decided to attack.

Genesis remained patient as his next ploy played out, the strain of being so spread out causing him to lose one of his tendrils to Red's attack, the slime losing cohesion as it was detached from his body. The other tendril however, the one that had aimed for Red's face, withdrew back and lashed out at one of the standing stones, slicing a deeply jagged trench into it, a second whipping motion ripping through the other side and a final flick knocking the now broken chunk of stone down... aiming to drop it right on the hilt of Red's sword while the other student was busy trying to bandage himself. Genesis intended to either deprive his opponent of a weapon, of medical treatment, or if neither, prove that the other boy was still perfectly functional and able to move unhindered.
Either way, he'd allow the dust and movement caused by hundreds, if not thousands of kilograms of stone hitting the ground to disguise the retraction of his tendril back into his central mass.
He took a few moments to bring himself back together and alleviate the slowly building tension in his body from use of his quirk. He was absolutely going to have to act soon if he didn't want to run out of energy before he had gotten a good shot or two in, but he wasn't buying Red's performance just yet. He knew how much and how deeply he'd hit the other boy, and he doubted his opponent was so weak as to truly let such superficial damage slow him down significantly. Sure, it no doubt had some level of effect on the other boy, but the limp... he wasn't too sure he believed that one, he wasn't a fool and he'd been attacking with a part of his own body that meant he could feel the contact they'd had. How Red reacted to his attempt to disarm him
Withdrawn back to a more cohesive but thinly spread mass, Genesis rested so as to not over strain himself, his actions thus far had required him to utilise his every skill quite considerably, and if he kept it up he wouldn't be in a good condition when it finally came time to spring his last trap. The slime wanted to make more comments about Red's profanities, and the part of him that was pure Luka wanted to defend his honour against the aspersions the other Hero-in-Training cast against him. But Genesis was in control right now, and every instinct he had was to stay calm, quiet, and wait. So far he had been lucky to not be spotted, his camoflage far less effective when moving, and only his use of Red's limited lines of sight had allowed him to attack while remaining hidden. That couldn't last, especially if he made the other boy particularly angry.
Carefully, Genesis began extending tendrils of slime up to the nearby rocks and began weakening them in similar, if more subtle, ways to the one he had tried to drop on Red's hilt, preparing the area for the inevitable confrontation between them. At the same time he was also continuing to burrow through the earth, forming a fairly straightforward network of tunnels to use in case he needed a quick getaway. He was lucky that they were fighting on dirt and grass, rather than concrete, because it meant he would have an easier time using his quirk to move beneath the ground and be able to surprise his opponent. While preparing, Genesis kept as close a watch on Red as he could know how the other trainee was handling the current situation. The Slime knew that Red must be getting frustrated, and Genesis was aware that it might be reflecting poorly on him that he hadn't directly engaged his opponent yet.
But he had to do his best to win, and that meant not engaging in a pointless head-to-head fight with someone as fast as Red.

"WHAT ARE YOU, A COWARD OR SOMETHIN? JUST FUCKIN FINISH ME ALREADY IF YOU WANNA WIN! OR DO YOU WANNA KEEP LAUGHING AT ME FROM BEHIND A ROCK?" Red would yell, still only half putting on an act when shouting that, wincing a little as he put his bandages on. He wasnt an idiot, he was well aware of what Luka was doing by now: He was hiding, gathering information and using probing strikes to test things out. Red was cursing himself, he gave the guy too much by just rushing over to his side of the ring. That musta been why his legs were being targeted, so he couldnt use his speed.....he had to admit, he was playing right into this slimy bastards hands with how he was acting....he had to give him props for that, atleast.
On the other hand, he was really starting to have trouble keeping his frustration under control. He was letting some of it leak out during his act, but it was starting to become more and more genuine. He couldnt help it really, it was the deliquent instincts in him screaming at him to just go wild and destroy the arena so that Luka didnt have anywhere to hide, and then grab the fucker by the throat and make sure his slime remembers the imprint of his fist, but that'd do more harm than good right now.....plus, it would probably help him even more.
That point would get made apparent in the next five seconds, when, instead of just retracting from stabbing Red in the hand and disarming him of his wind sword, Lukas slime tentacle decided to cleave its way through one of the nearby stone pillars. If Red wanted to keep up the act, he was pretty much helpless to stop it from falling inbetween him and his hilt, pretty much crushing it......didnt stop him from trying, through.
"You son of a-- DAMMIT!" Red would cry out, abandoning the leg bandage for a sec to try and move, but the only thing that happened was him falling forwards onto his face thanks to his leg. A little bit of blood would fly out of his wound, but he was still otherwise fine.....if deprieved of one of his hilts. Luckily for him though, and probably unbeknowsnt to Luka....he wasnt properly disarmed yet. Sure, he was down a hilt, but he had a couple more on him......besides, he was better with his fists anyway.
Still, the falling of that pillar threw up a shitload of dust and smoke, which proved to Red that mindless destruction of the Arena would do him no good here. Sure, there'd be no pillars for the guy to hide behind, but instead it'd be replaced with a smoke screen and a debris field that'd honestly make it easier for him to commit surprise attacks. Atleast with the pillars he had kind of defined ambush points, in a debris field? They could come from almost anywhere......which to be fair was the case already but it'd just make the bloody situation worse.
Plus it'd waste a shitload of energy, which would probably be in Lukas best interest.....since it was currently one of the only disadvantages he had right about now. Red wasnt exactly sure how much of a tank Luka had in him, but what he DID know was that all this sneaking around and ambush tactics must have been taking a lot out of him....whereas Red was almost completely fine. Sure, he'd taken a couple superficial hits, his hand throbbing a little still, but as for energy he was more than capable of going for a while....and he wasnt about to give that advantage up.
Plus, that pillar knockdown gave out some good info. It meant Luka WAS capable of doing that, which meant that Red'd have to watch out for it. So, making sure the bandage on his leg was pretty secure, he'd use his quirk to quickly get rid of the dust around the general area, quickly getting his sight back and start to limp around again, quietly containing his annoyance and frustration at his current situation and keeping an eye on his surroundings. His vision was more important that staying hidden right now, he had to make sure Luka kept trying ambushes on him, makin him waste more energy so he had to come out.
After all, he had the feeling that Luka was planning another hit and run attack....he just didnt know where or which method he was gonna conduct it with. [smear:#1979e6]God.....atleast fighting Kaz wasnt this frustrai----MOTHER FUCKER STOP........what was i thinking about again?[/smear:#ff0000:1] Red would groan in pain, shaking his head again to get rid of the stabbing pain in his head......unfortunatly it stayed around and joined the dullness of his hand and leg.
Plus, he could feel something in the back of his mind....it was faint, but he could almost make out whatever it was.....his anger might have been contained, but it was starting to ask him a very, very important question:
"Hey Kid, you want me to take care of him? Dont worry, it'll be finnnneee.....just let me handle it....." The voice would echo through his mind, subtly, with that same emotionless tone he'd heard before......he still really didnt like it.

Genesis absently noted that his opponent appeared to have a hell of a temper, the slime sitting calmly in place as his 'rest' period continued. He needed to regain energy while he waited for the right moment to strike, otherwise he wasn't going to have a ghost of a chance of dealing with the other boy. He didn't respond, it would be stupid to reply to such taunts, no matter how much he wanted to, instead he watched and waited as the dust from the falling stone began to settle, satisfied that he had apparently disarmed Red without giving away his own position. He still wasn't nearly ready to simply begin an attack, he was feeling far too cautious for that, but at the very least he could continue to wittle away at the other Second Year's defences until he'd been sufficiently weakened.
The dust being cleared away by Red's quirk gave him further information regarding the other's abilities. It meant he couldn't rely on dropping more stones as a smokescreen as his only form of stealth, which was unfortunate. He considered his next moves from his hiding spot on the ground, the disguised slime boy contemplating his options as Red continued to move through the henge. He could attack from below now, the area riddled with his small tunnels that would let him extend slime out in a thirty meter radius. But he didn't want to give away a potential trump card and escape route. That would only end up leaving him vulnerable for what he felt might be a one use trick. No, it was better to stay in place as Red walked, the damaged upper sections of the stone waiting to be dropped on the boy's head, or at least funnel him to wherever Genesis wanted him to go.
Red came closer and closer towards the area, limping and quite clearly agitated, and Genesis had to decide how he wanted to proceed. He could drop the stones and then engage in combat, either harming Red or disorienting him, or he could drop the stones then withdraw underground to a new location and set himself up there. Both ideas had pros and cons, he couldn't tell how his opponent would react and also he was starting to run out of time. His camoflage was ok for now, but it wasn't fool-proof, and each attack he made did drain him of energy. As the other boy got closer and closer his time to decide got shorter and shorter, he would have to determine his next course of action before Red got too close, or he risked losing the element of surprise.
As the other student got closer and closer, Genesis decided that neither of his original plans would work the way he wanted. Slipping behind the stone pillar as Red approached, Luka circled the stone as stealthily as he could, keeping it between himself and the limping boy. The moment he was behind Red, he sprung out from hiding. Many people would have let out a battle cry at this point, but Genesis was silent, slime emerging from each of his fingertips as he formed wire-thin tendrils that lashed out towards the other boy as quickly as he could, aiming to cut into the injured arm and leg while wrapping around them to bind Red and limited his ability to move further. Those who knew what he looked like normally might have been surprised by the unusual length of his hair, the small boy hiding a tether of slime by making it appear like his natural hair as he weaved into Red's personal space. He was lucky that Red didn't. That tether connected him to the tiny tunnels he had dug into the ground, it was one of his trump cards.
Assuming the tendrils found their mark, Genesis moved into close quarters, the slime tendrils trying to tighten in order to pull Red off balance while also further injuring the already damaged limbs. The slime knew that he had only a few chances to win this match, and all of them relied on him fighting smart. He didn't have the sort of brute power of his opponent, so he would have to use every trick in the book. And he meant every trick. With his own hands occupied by the slime tendrils, Genesis could only really attack in one way, at least without losing complete cohesion and then flailing around with a myriad of tentacles, and that was with his legs. His leg lashed out as quickly as he could make it, at first seeming to slip towards Red's uninjured leg, at his ankle in particular. But then Genesis' limb moved in a way that wasn't physically possible for a normal person, the angle changing until the limb was heading directly for a true 'below the belt' hit. It was the dirtiest move one guy could pull on another, but for Genesis, there was no place for honour in a fight. There were laws to follow of course, and it was always better to limit damage, however sometimes you couldn't allow yourself to hold back out of some misguided sense of morality.
That sort of attitude got you or innocent people killed, it led to failed missions and regret. As far as Genesis was concerned, any dirty trick was acceptable if it led to victory, a mindset shared by the greatest tacticians of history. He was simply following the teachings of giants like Sun Tzu.

".....how about you fuck off, instead?" Red would say, seemingly still angry at Luka for, in line with his act, being a cheeky cunt and hiding around corners using ambush tactics, but that wasnt it. Sure, he was a bit frustrated considering the guy was using his skills VERY fucking well at this point, but he couldnt hold it against him. He was probably testing out his tactics on someone weaker than him, trying to perfect his methods before the later rounds so he could use em against the stronger kids......unfortunatly for him, Red had no intention of being his fuckin guinea pig.....besides, he had a date waitin for him at the finals, and he would rather die than call a rain check on that.....Not that she knew currently but she'd probably find out eventually.
Fine, Fine.....just lemme know when you need me to clear up your bloody mess, mate. The voice would call back to him, echoing a little before completely disappearing. Least that meant his head would stop fuckin pounding for a while, so he could focus better and actually be able to assess the situation he was in....and it was a pretty bad one, all things bloody considered.
Here he was, limping around in what was essentually a a death maze with a shitload of spike traps in it, still not knowing where the fuck his opponent was. Sure, he'd managed to keep damage to a minimum, the cuts on his legs being barely noticable and his hand only suffering a little bit, but Luka still held all the cards here. At this point, all Red could do was run the timer til Luka ran outta stamina and had to forfeit, or hope to god the act worked and Luka decided to finish him off.....he was really, really hoping for the latter, just so he could get a little payback for his hilt.
So, walking around, still on guard for when Luka was gonna surprise him again, his eyes scanning his surrondings as best he could, Red was, unknowningly, falling directly into Lukas trap as he moved pased the stone pillar he was using as cover. If Red hadnt been expecting anything to happen, then perhaps Luka would have properly caught him off guard....but since Red was expecting attacks from all angles, He'd get a lucky break here.
Come on.....which is it? Ground? Sides? Above? Or Behind? Red would ask himself as he moved through, eyes searching for anything out of place. But, it wasnt his eyes that helped him out here. It was actually his ears. Hearing the whip of something behind him, Red's body moved on instinct, before his mind caught up to what was happening. When it did, what his eyes laid eyes on were three things: The first, was that there were more tendrils coming at him, probably aiming to cut him again. The second, was that a set were already around his arm, which he'd used to block....But the third, was that this was no ambush this time. Luka was right in front of him, finally.....Which caused Red to get a wild grin on his face. Got ya.
It seemed the guy was aiming for his leg too, but thanks to his quick reactions he'd managed to avoid having his mobility fully comprimised....at the expense of an arm, but it was fine, it wasnt down for the count yet......still kinda fuckin hurt though, being squeezed by wires. Red knew he only had a few seconds to spare here, otherwise Luka could just cut off his slime again and run for it.......man, he had really long hair for a guy.....Red wasnt sure if it was really that long, but he didnt have time to consider it, he had to make a move, finally.
His counter came in three parts: The first, was to actually tighten the wires even more around himself, getting a good grip and just pulling his arm over his body, in an attempt to draw Luka in further and throw him off balance. The Second was a two parter, getting rid of the wires. Luckily for him, the wires were pretty thin, which meant one thing: they'd be easy to cut apart.....and Red didnt need a hilt to make a sword. They just made it easier to work with.
So, part two was simple: Create a small wind blade, coming out of his arm specifically, directly underneath where the wires were holding him. At the same time, he'd throw his arm way from himself, to make sure the slime was off of him, and maybe throw a little blood in Luka's direction, aiming for his eyes....or just his face in general, he wanted to blind the guy. At the same time, he'd use the speed and mobility he'd shown to Luka earlier to get in as close as he could, some weird sparks starting to flow off of him as he dodged past the rest of the tendrils as best he could, taking a couple more cuts in the process but....it was fine, they werent critical.
As he got close, his quirk would finally get to use all the wind he'd been generating all this time, a glow in Reds eye as he got right into Luka's face, raised his arms, and brought them back down, with the full force of his quirk exploding around him. He wasnt an idiot, he knew that Luka could still use the tendrils to try and wrap him up again, or try and counter attack with his legs or something, so Red decided to account for that, creating what was essentually a miniature hurricane around himself to counter that. Even then, he was still on the lookout for what Luka was gonna do next....he was a tricky bastard, after all.
The force of the winds around him would be catastrophic, expanding outwards even if Luka decided to double back somehow, hopefully atleast causing him to bleed or something........not that it would matter. After all, this entire time, Red was keeping a real solid look at Luka, making sure to not lose sight of him.....with a pretty calm look on his face, beyond the grin. After all, if he lost him now, they'd be back at square bloody one....and Red really didnt wanna end up in that bloody situation again.

The wire-thin tendrils that wrapped around Red's arm dug in deep the moment they came into contact with the limb, slicing into the other boy's skin just enough to be painful, but not enough to really cause much damage. Genesis may have been hunting his opponent, but he was still a hero, and that meant showing self-restraint as well. It would hurt Red to use that arm, but it also wouldn't even leave a scar. Red's next few movements were somewhat unexpected, but nothing that he couldn't account for. Tugged forward by the tendrils around Red's arm, Genesis used the slime 'anchor' that looked like hair to push himself forward even further, moving towards the other boy quicker than Red was expecting, his free hand held up by his ear in a claw as though he were in a kung-fu movie.
Red's cutting of the slime around his arm removed a binding, but didn't slow Genesis' momentum, and the larger boy was coming right at him as well. It was good to know that he didn't need the support device to use his quirk, something that Genesis might be able to consider should he make it out of this clash intact. Warned by the glow in Red's eyes, and the sparks that travelled up the other's arms as he raised them above his head. Most would try and move back, to dodge and flee, and everything Genesis had done thus far lent itself to following that course of action. But now wasn't the time for withdrawal, not yet, he hadn't achieved his goal and so instead of trying to dodge the attack by fleeing, he continued to move forward.
Unnaturally long hair reeled back into his body as his momentum carried him closer and closer to Red, the other boy's speed hard for him to follow. Thankfully, he didn't need to follow it too well, the Slime boy's body condensing into an orb of translucent blue gel, an orb flying at high speed right towards Red's stomach. As Red's arms descended and a hurricane exploded outwards from him, Genesis was practically cradled by the other boy's body in the one location where the winds hadn't emerged. The winds rocketed through the area, ripping chunks out of the standing stones and collapsing a couple of the lintel stones, the dust that might have been caused by such destruction quickly blown out of the area by the continuing winds.
Not wanting to give Red a chance to try and create more wind blades out of his currently safe stomach, Genesis' orb-like body rippled, slender legs rocketing out of the gel into a near vertical High Kick, the 180 degree angle of his legs likely causing some empathic pain from male viewers. With one leg planted on the ground and the other emerging to slam into Red's stomach, even a boy with average strength like himself would likely be able to cause quite a bit of damage. Maybe even make Red throw up.
But that wasn't all.
Genesis was now in close range, and it was his chance to utilise his other major advantage. His physiology was unlike almost every other person on the planet, and he had spent significant training time on working out how to use it to his advantage. At the apex of the kick, once all the force he could put into it had been spent, his foot shifted into slime, the rest of his body following after it, engulfing Red's abdomen in slime as he first wrapped around the larger boy, and then reformed into his human shape clinging to Red's back. Genesis first slammed both his fists into Red's back, hoping to wind the larger boy, before creating a tentacle of slime as thick as his forearm where his hand would be, the slime cascading towards Red's head in an attempt to engulf it in slime. If that succeeded, he might be able to suffocate the boy into unconsciousness. At the very least it'd blind his opponent if it was successful, giving Genesis another advantage that might bring him closer to closing the gap between himself and the blond boy. If he were a less moral individual, it would have been easy to force slime through Red's nose and perhaps mouth, fully suffocating the other boy. Instead, he hoped for disorientation and a knock out.
He'd use his other limbs to try and control Red's movements, either locking or binding the other Heroics student, or at least manipulating him enough that he could avoid the attacks being made. He knew he couldn't keep this up for too long, so he hoped that he could end this fight soon. He was definitely going to be hungry after all this, but he hadn't really used up too much of his slime yet, so he could keep going for a while on that front. Still, the longer the fight went on, the more risky it got for him. He might not be able to disengage yet, but he would have to soon if he couldn't succeed.
Throughout the whole process, Genesis remained silent. His only words the entire match had been the brief taunt from his lure, meant more to trick Red than give anything away. The slime boy was on high alert as he tried to pummel and restrain his opponent, ready to react at a moment's notice to avoid getting attacked again, if he could help it.

Damn, this guys good. Was all Red could think about right now. sure, he'd hoped that being in close range would finally give him an advantage is this very elaborate, annoying game of cat and mouse, but it seemed that Luka was finally content to actually commit to a fight instead of running away and ambushing him the entire fight. It made Red feel great, since it meant that he could actually do something beyond get stabbed at this point, but he wasnt out of the woods yet.
He'd noticed Luka moving towards him as he closed the distance, figuring the guy wanted to try and stop him from throwing his arms down, but Red wasnt an idiot. He used a couple of extra air blasts from his forearms to speed his arm up slightly, so instead of Luka getting to counter, he'd be buffeted by the winds and hopefully, knocked the fuck back so Red could go in on his ass.......it was unfortunate that this turned out not to be the case.
See, even if Red had managed to speed up his attack, which rocked the area hard, pretty much blowing anything around him away or carving wind scratches into the stones.......He hadnt reacted fast enough. He'd seen Luka catch the brunt of the assault, but instead of being blown away.....he was blown forwards.....directly under Reds stomach, it seemed. But, that didnt mean that Red was caught unawares. He'd been watching the guy the entire time, and he wasnt about to let him out of his sight now.....which meant that he had an idea on what was about to happen.
As soon as he saw the slightest notice of movement, that being Luka's slime body starting to ripple like a cup of water in an earthquake, Red put himself into action. Using whatever he could generate on such short notice.....maybe spinning his internal turbine manually just a smidge, he fired a couple of airbursts from underneath his skates, which looked rather.....sparky, for some reason, trying to get airborne before whatever Luka was about to do could connect....but unfortunatly, once again, he reacted slightly too late.
As Red got his feet barely off the ground, Luka decided to use his biology to his advantage again, and formed legs out of the condensed orb below to high kick him in the stomach.....atleast he hoped it was the stomach, at this angle it woulda been easy to kick him in the dick too. Either way, Luka's attack still connected, but not in the way Luka would like. Contact was minimal, due to Red being off the ground and already traveling upwards, but the kick still hurt like a bitch......atleast this hit was kind of honest. He could give him that, finally.
Anyway, this meant a few things: first off, Luka was currently just a blob with legs, which would have probably been a hilarious image to look at if he wasnt currently wanting to drop kick the guy into the next dimension. Second off, Red was above him, a few meteres off the ground, and still going upwards slightly. There wasnt a ceiling here, thank christ, thanks to his previous attack, which meant that he'd naturally reach his Apex and fall slowly....and the third? Luka wasnt running away anymore....SO RED COULD FINALLY HIT HIM.
Finally able to drop the act he'd been putting on this entire time, Red fell silent, with a focused look on his face. Sure, his arm hurt a little, thanks to using it to try and pull Luka in and getting cut up, but it wasnt unusable yet. He'd already showed off that he was pretty much fine to Luka anyway, so there was no point in trying to hide it anymore. He wasnt about to rush in on the guy though, contray to how he was acting earlier, Red wasnt gonna play this like a moron would.
He needed to force Luka into using his quirk, and hope and pray that the guys stamina reserves were running low....after all, he had been hiding this entire time, splitting parts of himself off to attack him through walls. That had to tire a guy out....and if that didnt, then Red was gonna make damn sure that the guy fell flat on his ass. So, using the momentum of being launched up to generate, plus his cuffs, Red'd fire an airblast downwards, directly down onto Luka. At this distance, the odds of it hitting were likely, especially since Luka was still only a pair of legs.....but that wanst all he was gonna do.
The force of his own blast would fire Red upwards just a little bit, so he could get a slightly bigger field of view of the area Luka was inhabiting.....which mean that it was easier to react to whatever he was about to do. Red couldnt be sure if it hit or not, but that didnt matter right about now, he had to get on the guys ass, and fast. So, watching how Luka reacted, Red would use another airblast from his arms to turn himself into a projectile, aiming for wherever Luka was about end up.
Once he was close enough, he'd flip himself over, bringing the back of his heel down onto either Lukas Head or his back, whichever was closer, using the force of that to flip himself again and land in front of him. He was about to let the guy run away again, this fight was ending here, and now. He refused to let the guy go back to hiding against rocks and trying to snipe him through walls, cause that was getting really, really old.
Come on Luka.....you aint scared of a real fight, are ya? Cant run now, can ya? Red would ask himself, a slight smirk emerging on his face as he let his quirk swirl and spark around him.....unknowingly making a certain someone like how he was acting right now just a little bit.

Genesis had misjudged the sensitivity of his prey's perception, and the reaction times he had, and had paid the price for such a miscalculation. Even as his foot slammed into the other boy's stomach there wasn't enough of a connection for him to follow through as he had intended. Instead, Red took to the air, dissipating much of the damage the kick would have caused and pulling him out of reach for the grappel that the slime had been hoping to achieve. Genesis' own reaction was as swift as he could make it, a mass of blue slime rocketing out of his body as he produced everything he had left.
From Red's position in the air he would see the slime-boy's form overcome by a mass of slime several thousand gallons in volume. Even as this formed, Red's second blast hammered home, tearing through the soft substance as it formed a large dome, desperately trying to reform into the orb-like shape that he had seen previously on top of one of the stones. The damaged slime slid away uselessly into the grass as the large mass absorbed the majority of the power of the airblast. Beyond the basic form of the dome, the slime seemed to form protrusions, almost spikes above its' surface that seemed to be as sharp as the tendrils that had cut Red's hand and leg previously.
It wasn't, but he didn't have to know that.
Beneath all the slime Genesis had reverted fully, his body slipping into the tunnel system he had dug out earlier and squirming beneath the earth while he put his all into the diversion. His body hurt, and his stomach felt like a black hole that was threatening to consume every part of him. He'd thrown everything he had left into keeping Red from noticing what he was doing, any more than this and he would pass out. He could barely form the shape of spines with what power he had left, there was no chance of making them actually dangerous. It was almost impossible to have kept the mass in cohesion when it had been hit with that airblast.
Genesis was operating as a predator would, and any predator would choose to pull back from prey that fought back too harshly. It was far from ideal, but he had missed his one and only chance to win against someone far more powerful than him, which meant there was only one option. Popping out from behind one of the standing stones at the edge of his tunnel system, Genesis raised his hand as soon as it formed out of his blob-like body. "I forfeit, I cannot continue to fight," he declared loudly, the slime that he had left behind as a distraction losing all cohesion and melting away into the ground. It was the first words spoken from his human form the entire match, and it was the only thing he said. Looking far more gaunt than when he had started, and walking with the slow deliberation of someone whose whole body hurt, the small slime boy began to limp out of the arena without a backward glance at his opponent, his expression blank and his movements robotic.
He hurt, and more importantly he hungered, and once that hunger had been sated there would be time for Genesis to become Luka again, and Luka to process what had happened. He'd tried his best, and it hadn't been good enough, he'd need to come to terms with that later, but right now he really needed to regain energy. He'd expended everything he had, and it would take a lot of food to recover that, but he couldn't risk trying to save anything, he'd been in an incredibly unfavourable position and escape had been the only option. Well, escape or being attacked until he couldn't move. Genesis' instincts wouldn't allow the second option, and so he'd done what he could. Red was just too powerful for him to have defeated, even with all his tactics. There would be time to try and figure out new ones, but ultimately the gap in their abilities was too high.
Clutching at his stomach, Genesis went to exit the arena, the hunger pangs all consuming. He needed to eat, self castigation could come later.
