The relation between Rowan and her father had gone a lot better and that was why Kyouhei was so disappointed in himself, he was disappointed he could not get free during this period. He had to arrange stuff for the hotel, some important people came to Tokyo and he could not just let it go. He hated it because even though he still did not like her quirk nor his own, he had wanted to show support. The only thing he could come up with was sending one of her friends who would not have gone himself. Rowan spoke about Sean a lot and just as Rowan herself, her dad was quite oblivious to why. So he had given the boy the economic classes that Rowan had because he had wanted his own restaurant, he was allowed to help in the kitchen and because he was a wonderful young man, who always seemed to smile, Kyouhei could understand why Rowan was so fond of him. Which was why he had bought him a ticket and send him off to England to support Rowan and get some inspiration around the hotel from the others. He had asked the boy's mother for permission and he could stay for free at the Sakamoto hotel. Like his daughter and her other friends. He knew she had been lonely before, so he wanted to hold this opportunity, he could finally do something about it and he had no need to discuss it long with Helena who liked the idea as well. Right, that had been a few days ago and Kyouhei wondered how the preparations for Rowan was going, he did text her but with the nine-hour time difference, it was quite a difficult thing to do or consider.
Tomorrow was her fight and she did not want to think about it. She did not even know yet who her opponent was, she did not want to think about it. She looked out of her window and wondered if she should go and discover York. She had not really done so, focused on training and helping the hotel. "It is your turn, bah if you keep looking outside we can just as well quit." Her grandmama said and she quickly turned to her and the chessboard. "Let her be, mother. She has to empty her mind for the festival tomorrow, she should be at the school not here playing and talking with us." Rowan looked gratefully at her mother because Grandmama Rowena has been a pain in the ass ever since she arrived, she did not like York for whatever reason that Rowan wasn't going to ask. So she got up, gave her mother a kiss on the cheek and simply walked out without saying much more. She was not sure what to do, it was really grey and gloomy outside, maybe it would rain in a bit, so either she had to hurry or not all and thus she was a bit stuck, hmm where to go was the only she had when she got into the lobby.

There was not enough gratitude in the world that Sean would ever be able to express to Rowan's father. The man was a literal (okay, maybe not literally literal) saint! Not only did he pay for Sean's hospital bills and give his poor mom a much needed relaxing stay at a fancy hotel for all the lady had to go through, but it was thanks to him that Sean could be at the UK cheering on his former classmates from here rather than watching the Festival on TV from home. He also generously let Sean start taking economic classes, which would come in handy for his future dream. Plus, it's thanks to him that Rowan is even alive. Someday, the boy would figure out what he could do to thank the good man for everything he's done.
Naturally, Sean would do everything he could to help and support Rowan while he was here with her. He wanted her to be happy, to be relaxed, to do well at the upcoming tournament. There was not a whole lot he could do to help with the latter, but if there was anything that he could do to help Rowan out, then he would not hesitate to do so. Company, support, words of encouragement, whatever she wanted, Sean was more than happy to deliver.
Sean looked outside. It seemed like it could rain at any moment. He would of course hope that it would rain. Rather than covering himself from the rain, Sean naturally loved getting wet. It felt awesome! He did not understand why people kept saying it was bad to go out on a rainy day without an umbrella. If anything, the boy seemed to have nothing but good luck in the rain. Heck, he met Miku precisely because he didn't have an umbrella when it started raining!
Sadly, it was not raining right this moment, so with a sigh, Sean headed back inside the hotel. Hopefully it would rain soon. But until then, it was best to go find something productive to do. As Sean walked in, he noticed Rowan. The boy's already cheerful mood became even brighter upon seeing her. Gee, wonder why that could be?
"Yo, Rowan! How are you holding up?" He could only imagine how she must feel with the festival quickly approaching. Was she confident? Excited? Nervous? "I know you'll do well at the festival. If you hear some lunatic cheering you on loudly from the crowd, that'll be me!" The boy chuckled. "I'll be cheering you on all the way!" Sean had faith in Rowan. What couldn't she do? If one asked Sean, he would confidently say that Rowan had this in the bag!

Stuck in the lobby, sitting on one of the chairs she was a bit of lost in her thoughts. Wondering what to do. She did not feel like training but maybe she had to work on it simply and only because it was to be expected. She did not want to fail in any of the courses, heck she was the winner of last years Cavalry and she wasn't sure if she had picked smart by signing up for it again. This time she could not work together with Haru. That made her freeze, why did she remember that? And that's literally why she was sunken in deep thoughts in the chair in the lobby. She almost fell out of the chair, it wasn't smart to have slung both her legs over one side and lean against the other side, she quickly managed to hold herself and put her feet on the ground. She kept forgetting that Sean was here, not because she wanted to forget but because she could not believe it. She had no idea how he came here, no one had shared with her but she immediately blushed when she saw him. It had to do with her embarrassing moment as well as just the fact that seeing Sean brought these very weird feelings. She got up quickly while he talked so she could stand opposite him and she wondered how it felt to hug him again. Maybe she should try again? She bit her lip, "I don't like it." she mumbled, she was nervous, not feeling all too nice about it and she decided to do what she had wanted to try ever since Christmas and that's why she wrapped her arms softly around him, as he had done to her before and bury her face against his chest. "I wish we were home." She mumbled against his shirt, her face was bright red and she stared at the colour of his shirt and tried to think that this was normal. It was normal to hug people.
It was totally normal that you were red as a tomato, felt like exploding and that your heart was racing like crazy. Yes, totally normal. Rowan wanted to be held by no one else but Sean, she wanted to be happy and no worries as he showed her before. She wished that there was no such pressure on her shoulders, that she could just enjoy it for fun, that she could just be satisfied with him supporting her and her mother and grandmother but she just wished it meant she would not have to fight. She would prove her quirk worked the way she wanted but she seriously wished it was not necessary. Why make a competition out of something so dangerous?

Sean smiled. Just seeing Rowan was enough to put him in a cheerful mood. Though his happy expression became one of confusion. "Don't like what?" Was there something that was bothering her? Someone, perhaps? Sean hoped not. Whatever it was, he wanted to do whatever he could to help Rowan.
And then that look of confusion became a mix of joy and worry upon finding himself suddenly being hugged. The joy part was obvious. Sean liked Rowan. Sean liked hugs. So the two together were even better. The boy blushed slightly, eagerly and happily hugging Rowan back as she buried her face on his chest. Awww, I just wanna pat her head now!
But he was also concerned now. Was everything alright? "Yeah, I gotta be honest. I think the UK isn't anywhere near as nice as Japan. Not warm enough." But forget about that! Something was on Rowan's mind, and Sean hoped to figure out what. "Why do you feel that way? What's up? You know you can always tell me anything, right? If something is bothering or worrying you, I want to help you out. I wanna listen to you."
Sean just continued to stand there, gently holding Rowan. She was so pretty! And she felt so warm. He would honestly be perfectly fine with holding and hugging Rowan all day like this. But now was not the time to admire and think about her! If Rowan needed something, Sean wanted to be there for her. If she had anything to say, he would gladly listen. It didn't matter if there were people in this hotel lobby looking at the two. Right now, Rowan was all that mattered to the boy. If she was not smiling, Sean wanted to know why so he could do what he could to fix that.

She hid her face in his chest. Afraid of what she might say, which was the reason she had not answered yet. Rowan might be a person that worried too much about basically everything. She had told this to Sean before and he had not judged her, so maybe she should tell him now too why she wasn't happy. Why she didn't like it. But instead of saying that, she said she wanted to be home and she blushed and she wasn't happy and yet, he smelled nice. What kind of soap was that? Holding on to Sean, it was really distracting. It felt like she fitted perfectly in his arms too and she liked how he held her carefully and yet strong enough and she looked up a little when he talked about the U.K. and she smiled a little, was he trying to make a joke to distract her, because that was really sweet. She felt quiet when he spoke to her again though, that was not a joke and she shortly looked at his lips, while he spoke. Wondering what they tasted like and she blushed and tried to focus on Sean's eyes. Ehm, what did she just think?
"I mean, I can't remember anything from last year, I feel like a freak and my power, what if I hurt someone really badly, would they forgive me?" She snuggled closer into him, he wanted to help her, he wanted to listen to her. No one ever said that to her. She was afraid that if she hurt someone that the bad thoughts would return, even though it wasn't possible, she wanted to be a hero, now more than ever. She had managed to find control, to work on control, let her please become better at it and protect her family and... and protect Sean.

Sean continued to feel a mix of joy and worry as he and Rowan continued to stay close, with the girl burying her face on his chest. Sean could not help but notice just how nice she smelled. Was Rowan wearing perfume, or did she always just smell this nice? Either way, it felt soothing and relaxing. The boy would not mind just staying like this forever. But Sean did not want to linger on those kinds of thoughts for too long. He was too concerned at the moment. Was Rowan alright? What was on her mind? The boy was here to listen to anything she had to say. If there was anything he could do to help, then of course he would! Who wouldn't want to help Rowan?
He listened to Rowan's words, listened as she admitted to not remembering anything from last year. Oh dang, did something happen? Sean was worried. What happened to make Rowan forget? Did she get hurt? Was it something super traumatic that made her want to clear it from her mind? So many possibilities, each more terrifying to think about than the last. But the boy let Rowan continue. She felt like a... NO! No, why would she ever feel like that? Rowan wasn't a freak! Far from that! And her power. She was worried about hurting someone really badly with it, worried if she would be forgiven if someone did get hurt. Did this mean she lacked control over her quirk? Or did she lack faith in herself to always maintain control?
"Rowan..." Sean tried his best to think of what to say, how to make her feel better. But thinking was not enough. No, to the boy, action was needed. So he did the only thing he could think of at that moment. He hugged her tightly, snuggling Rowan back. Sean did not know everything that was troubling the poor girl's mind, but whatever it was, he was determined to do everything he could to wash those worries away.
"Listen. I know there's not much I can do regarding your missing memories. But I promise to do everything I can to help you fill in the blanks. I'll help you find the answers you're missing regarding what happened. And even if you feel like one, you're no freak! You can never be one! Not to me! You're amazing, kind, wonderful, beautiful..." Though Sean did his best not to, his face became redder upon saying that. But he did not regret saying that. It was true, after all! "And don't worry about hurting anyone. I can never see you as the kind of person to ever hurt anyone. And even if you ever did, I know that people would forgive you. You're a hero, Rowan! And you're awesome! Who wouldn't forgive you? I know I always would, no matter what happened."
Sean smiled. "Or is it something with your quirk? Because I'd be happy to do my best to help you with controlling it if that's what you're worried about. I know I can't do anything about mine, but if there's anything I can do to try to help with yours, you don't even need to ask me. I'm more than happy to help you out." He then hugged Rowan even tighter. Not enough to actually cause discomfort or pain, because Sean was holding himself back to avoid doing that to Rowan. But still, the boy cared about her a lot. He didn't want to see her upset or unhappy. If something was bothering her, he wanted to do anything he could to help. Sure he was essentially quirkless now, but Sean refused to let that stop him from doing anything he could to help.
"Whatever it is you need, whatever it is you want, I'm here for you Rowan."

Maybe that's always what she wanted? She remembered that her first hug, like the real deal made her freak out and now? She ran exactly into the arms of the person that hugged her for the first time. She did not want Sean to let her go. It felt so comfortable and nice and she wanted to stay in this perfect little spot, it made her feel like she was invisible for the rest of the world and maybe even invincible but she wasn't entirely sure about that over the sound of her panic. She had never told him, about Lady, that saying she also did not really have the time when it was happening and before Sean got hurt and did this make her selfish? She did not want to tell anyone about Lady anymore, as long as she could avoid it, she would. She had not told Chimera or Charlie and she wasn't going to tell Sean and push him away because of it, or worse... make him freak out and leave her side. She hid her face again and when he said her name softly she looked up, blushing again. She made a squeaky sound as she had not expected him to snuggle her but she quickly followed his example. "Thank you." Was all that mattered and all she wanted to say.
Though Sean wasn't done, he would also talk to her. She felt her face heat up when he gave her so many compliments and her eyes looked at his face, was he blushing? She looked at his lips again, should she- no wow, calm down. She gave him a little smile for what he told her. It really made her feel better, heck there was a whole storm in her stomach and- wait a second... she only blushed more now that she finally realized the answer. Oh shoot, what had she done before, she needed to think but she could not think Sean was distracting her and in a good way for sure. "Oh no, I gained control during my internships and I realized what I could do, it's just my fear, fire can do a lot of damage." Explosions included but he hugged her tightly and she giggled a little, "But this already soothes me." she mumbled though as close as they were that must be easily heard by him.
She heard what he said. But that did not mean she could speak up, she wanted him... to be by her side like he was now. To talk to her when she felt this way and make her feel happy and not stupid or freakish or anything. She needed Sean in her life. She thought about his smile a lot the other day and just about Sean. But it was a scary thing wasn't it? To say such words out loud. "I just need you like this." This time, Rowan spoke a little louder but it wasn't much of a confession and she thought it was maybe better to not do so anyway. He was here because... because... why was he here?

Sean contently closed his eyes for a bit as he and Rowan continued to hug. She felt so nice and warm. Such a gentle feeling was something the boy wished he could feel forever. It was too nice. Hugging Rowan felt too nice. Sean did not want to have to let go. He could just stay like this forever if Rowan did not mind. And it seemed like she did not mind the snuggling, as she was doing it back to him. Seeing her look up at him, blushing and saying thank you, seeing how pretty the girl was, Sean could not help but blush some more as he smiled at her. "Anytime!"
Seeing Rowan's little smile, Sean was relieved to see that he was indeed helping. He could not stand the thought of Rowan ever feeling down. No, she should always be happy! She should always have a beautiful smile on her beautiful face. Speaking of smile, Sean's eyes landed on the girl's lips for a second, and the boy's face immediately heated up at the sudden thought that had invaded his mind. D-don't think about that now! Rowan needs my help right now. I have to listen to her. No distractions! Yes, as tempting as it was to think about that, Sean needed to do his best to avoid doing that for now. Even if it proved to be very difficult.
"Ah, that's good to hear!" It was good that it was not losing control of her quirk that was the problem. The problem was her fear, as fire was commonly known for the damage it could do. "Well there's no denying that. But fire isn't bad. It can also provide light and warmth, two very important things." In that sense, it was fitting to compare Rowan to fire. She was like a torch that provided a warm and gentle light, the kind that easily kept the harsh darkness and bitter cold that Sean really disliked at bay. Okay, maybe explosions weren't as precise for that function as a flame, so the comparison was more metaphorical than literal. But still, the boy had no doubt that Rowan could make her explosions that precise.
Sean smiled upon hearing Rowan's mutter. He was glad he could soothe her. The same way that her very presence soothed him. Whenever Sean felt stressed out or worried about something, just thinking of Rowan would be enough to quell those worries and stress. There was nothing in the past that made the boy feel this relaxed and happy. While Sean was usually not one to worry too much to begin with, the awakening from the coma had opened the boy's eyes and he began thinking of things that he used to not worry about. And for all of those worries, just thinking of Rowan was enough to make those thoughts fade away.
If not for the fact that the boy's blushing face could not get any redder, Rowan's words would have made Sean's face the same color as a tomato. "Rowan, I..." He could barely think straight. What was he doing here, again? That and so many other things became quickly forgotten. Those words. She needs me. Sean smiled. Those were such sweet words. "I'm not going anywhere. I'll stay for you as long as you want."
With his eyes once again looking at Rowan's lips, Sean could literally feel his heartbeat pounding loudly inside his chest. He wanted to tell her something. But what if it was too soon? What if he scared Rowan, made her want to let go? He could not risk that. He wanted to continue enjoying the moment, and more importantly, let Rowan continue enjoying the moment too. Still, Sean could not resist muttering back, just loud enough that she would have no trouble listening. "I need you too. Just like this. It's all I need." Surfing, swimming, anything to do with water, while all of those brought the boy joy and cheer, even they paled in comparison to Rowan. Lately, he could just not get her out of his mind. And honestly, he didn't want to. All he wanted, all he needed, was just her. As long as he could stay with her, Sean would never need to worry about not being happy.

Was she hearing things that were not there? So tightly hugged in his arms made her feel that his heart was beating as fast as hers. She wished it, she wished she dared to open up about that specifically to Sean but she did not dare. She just felt rather happy. That she was there and was soothed about the issues and just feel herself and how he complimented her and made her feel at ease. She thanked him and she smiled back at the young man as he replied to her. For the first time in her life, or the first time that she had realized she might be bothersome, she did not feel that way. She felt like she was exactly there where she wanted to be. She smiled therefore back at him with a little small and she tried to let it all go. It would be fine and all, she felt so relieved and strangely she felt happy.
She explained to him though that she worked hard in the meantime or the last year to get control over her quirk back. It was a hard thing to do and it had taken her all school year but that was fine, as long as it was on time for here. "I heard I was a twat last year and I feel so bad for being here, it makes me nervous to go to the school and not remember." She did not want to bring it up, she did not want Sean to worry about what happened in the past. "I try to consider it is in the past, and it shouldn't bother me that much anymore." She had to be optimistic, that's what Sean told her. She looked up at him with surprise as he said it was also providing light and warmth and she blushed again but with a little soft smile on her face. "I like that view of fire more." She had not thought about it, she had always thought of it negatively.
She realized they were still hugging and thought for a second if she should take a step back but she wanted to keep this warm and happy feeling. And she had now linked it to hugging Sean and put her cheek against him again and closed her eyes as she listened to his heartbeat. If he did not push her away or took a step back yet, she could linger on a little more right? She did tell him that she just needed him here. Still not entirely sure how to confess and if she could confess. She at this point did not even realize that she had not for one-second thought about someone else but only about Sean. Which might be something she would think about later. She blushed intensely when he said her name and she opened her eyes and looked up at his own red cheeks. "I like that." She did smile satisfied, well at least he wasn't going.
She looked up surprised though when he said he needed her, just like this, nothing else and she stared at him with surprise. "Sean." But, she couldn't say more, she could not form sentences, but she liked it. It made her heart skip a beat. But she should let go of him eventually, considering that she could not stand here all the time. "I cannot thank you enough." was the best she could do right now.

"Wait, what?"
Sean was confused. Who... what kind of person would call Rowan a tw- a twa- that?! That was just so many levels of wrong! Even if no one did call her that and it was just how the girl felt about herself, Sean simply could not comprehend that. Rowan was nice, caring, amazing! Nothing about her was anything that could be compared to such a bad word. There had to be more to this! Because the Rowan he knew, the lady Sean admired, respected, and loved so much could never be something like that.
"I have no idea about that, but don't worry about that, Rowan. You can never be a tw- a twa-" Sean really did not like swearing. He only ever did so if he were in great pain and it hurt so much that he forgot his dislike of using swear words. The last time he remembered swearing was last school festival where he kicked a metal pole too hard and hurt his foot. Bless Miss Nakahara. "...that word, to me! You're far too nice and amazing for that. And hey, no worries. If you can't remember the past, then all you need to do is simply focus on the present. If you can't look back, then look forward, and keep moving forward. And I'll help you every step of the way!"
He then smiled. "But if you can't ignore the past, then it's okay. I'm always happy to listen to you if you ever want to talk about it. I'm here for you, Rowan." The boy knew that he could not do a whole lot. But still, that would not be enough to deter him. He would still try, he would still do whatever he could to keep any trouble or worries away from Rowan. She was wonderful and precious, and he wanted to do anything he could to keep that beautiful smile on her face.
Sean smiled as he saw Rowan close her eyes and lean on him to listen to his heart beating. It was fine, he would not move, letting Rowan stay like that for as long as she wanted. As long as she was happy and comfortable, it was all good. Just seeing her like this, Sean could not help but smile. Whatever worries she had, whatever troubles clouded Rowan's mind, Sean wanted to help wash them away. He wanted to help her. He wanted to keep seeing her gorgeous face and smile. He wanted to move in closer so he could get to those lips and... Sean, not now! Don't mess this up by doing something stupid! Let her be comfortable and happy. It was so tempting though! It wouldn't be difficult at all to close that barely noticeable gap between them. But despite really wanting to, Sean had to keep cool and force those particular thoughts out of his head.
As much as Sean did not want to let go of Rowan, he knew that he could not just stand there and hug her forever. She had places to go at some point! Reluctantly, he loosened his hold on her. Not enough to break the hug, but at least Rowan could take a step back if she wanted to. Still, she would have to be the one to do that in that case, as Sean would pretty much just be rooted to the spot. Despite that, the boy was not upset if Rowan did want to back up a bit. It was understandable. As much as he wanted to hold her and never let go, Sean also did not want to smother her and make Rowan feel uncomfortable.
He grinned. "Me too." He had no intention of ever leaving Rowan's side. He refused to ever abandon her in her time of need. If she ever needed him, Sean was determined to always be here for her. Hearing her words made the boy smile more. "Anytime! I'm always happy to help you. In fact, I was gonna say the same thing to you, Rowan! I've never been this happy before now, before meeting you. No amount of words could express how grateful I am to have met such a wonderful person. All I can do is continue doing everything I can to keep you happy. Rowan, I..."
Sean froze, his tongue tied, not knowing what to do or say next. Would it be too much to tell her right now? Should he wait a bit? Or would waiting be a mistake? The boy did not know what to do. He was usually too relaxed to ever stress out about anything, but this was different. He really liked Rowan, and the last thing he wanted to do was mess this up. His heart was racing. Should he say it now? Should he not? What to do? What was the correct thing to do here?
"I..."

She looked up at him. It was impossible what she thought, it wasn't that he got mad because of the word right? She was a freak last year, she was mean and whatever it is that they called her. It was just the nerves and being so angry at herself that she could not control it. What should she do? But it was, he was flabbergasted, lost for words because of what she said, maybe not only the word but the whole thing. She wanted to kiss him. There and then she admitted the feeling to herself. That was enough right? Enough to understand that she was just head over heels for Sean and not anyone else. She did not think about anyone else, it was just Sean, his beautiful and kind words and his smile and his everything was simply to die for.
But she didn't think she would be making a smart move if she kissed him. She didn't trust herself. Not for one bit, but she could hear his compliments, it kept ringing in her ear in a good way, nice, amazing, beautiful, all the words he called her. She did not believe that she was ever showered in compliments like that. "I really like that, I can learn from you, your kindness, your ability to enjoy just the moment. I want to learn that all, from you." Yes, that would mean they spend more time together and maybe she would find the perfect moment to tell him. No one first kissed and then told about their feelings right? No, but she couldn't get the words over her lips so she would have to find that courage and just tell him later. Now she was a bundle of nerves already so that didn't help.
Maybe like Chimera said before, it was high time to start ignoring the past and just make the present better, yea, focus on that, it would be fine. She had to look forward like he said, it might be a lot safer and so on, focusing on becoming a real hero instead of only why she joined before. It was everything and nothing at once and it should become her goal. She had plans, she should work them out in the new year and so on. She would just let this moment happen, she would tell him later, she would be able to remember this moment and tell him later. She was more comfortable in his arms now. She did open her eyes to talk to him and his blushy cheeks were really cute and it was a miracle that she did not blush even more but she did smile. It was like a sort of victory dance that she felt in the pit of her stomach. Or maybe, tell him now? Why the heck not? She was already nervous so it couldn't be added to that, she was also already close in his arms, and she could potentially kiss him after, that sounded like a win-win situation.
Wait, her smile faltered a bit, what if he didn't like her? Are you crazy, she asked herself, he just showered you in compliments. Yes, but that was Sean, wasn't it? He was kind to everyone. But what he said next made her flutter her eyelashes and feel the storm of butterflies in her stomach. Okay well, he was so happy to meet her, and grateful and thinking about how to keep her happy. She should say it but he said something first, he said her name again and he hackled.
Was he... was he going to confess to her or push her away? To make sure to clear up what she thought and to make sure he didn't break her heart later? Yes, Rowan always went for straight doom scenario. She took a step back, she was afraid. She did not want this moment to end in something terrible, she had opened up herself too much. Thought about him too much, ooh what should she do. She kept looking at him, in his eyes and a frown on her forehead, the corners of her mouth turned down, but she wanted to hear it. "Yes?" she asked softly until she heaved up her shoulders visibly as someone in the hallway sort of screamed her name.
In a shrill voice someone had come down the elevator (several people had already done so but not this woman), "Rowan Haruka Sakamoto, what is taking you so long, leaving your old grandmama all to vend for herself, this is unbelievable young lady and I demand you to come with me right now." Seriously... that old hag was able to come and yell at her now. Her foul mood spreading to Rowan and she sighed. She took Sean's hand and heard her grandmother use her full name again, "We talk later okay, she has been a nag all week. I am really sorry. I will see you during the match, I hope?"

Sean smiled listening to Rowan's words. Well, not just her words. Just her voice in general. It felt so soothing. He could just close his eyes and listen to her talk about anything for eternity, and he would be perfectly fine with that. Not that he would ever ignore just what it was she said for the sake of listening to her talk. Of course not! "I'm always happy to teach you that and anything else you want, anytime!" It was definitely appealing. Spending time with Rowan sounded wonderful. Sean could not think of anything better than that. If there was anything he could do for Rowan, he would definitely do so. He wanted to spend as much time with her as he could.
I wouldn't mind spending the rest of my life with you. ...Oh, maybe I shouldn't think about that. Is it too soon to think like that?
Sean looked into Rowan's eyes, wondering what she was thinking about. Did she like him as much as he liked her? Was he looking too much into things? Would she be okay with it if he kissed her? Should he kiss her, or would that make her uncomfortable? So many questions, so many worries. Sean could barely think straight. Should he do it? Should he tell Rowan how he feels? Would she be overwhelmed if he did? Would she be disappointed if he didn't? What could he do? What should he do? What shouldn't he do? It was all so confusing!
Hearing her say his name, Sean could not help but smile. Hearing Rowan say his name felt so sweet, so good, so night, so ...right! He could not keep her in suspense. He tried telling her, but he hesitated from nervousness. Oh crud, what if she got the wrong idea? What if she thought he didn't like her? Sean had to find some way to say the words. It was so easy! Just a few simple and powerful words. Dude, just do it! Taking a deep breath, Sean decided that it was time. He would rather apologize to Rowan for telling the truth than to risk hurting her because he couldn't say the truth. It was now or never!
"Rowan, I love y-"
But it seemed as though fate decided to kick the poor boy. Before he could get all the words out, Sean was immediately startled by the sudden voice he heard that called out for Rowan. "...Oh." Whoops! Sean had not realized he had kept Rowan for this long. "Sorry, I didn't mean to get you in trouble." Sean sighed. It seemed today was not the fated day after all. Maybe some other time when Rowan was free. But today, Rowan had to go, and Sean did not want to get her in any more trouble.
But hearing Rowan's words, it was clear that she was unhappy about the interruption as well. That was relieving, at least. Sean smiled. "No worries. I understand." He blushed when Rowan held his hand. It was so soft and warm. If only he could hold on to it for longer. But sadly, Rowan would have to leave soon. So the boy would just enjoy the fleeting moments that he could get to hold her hand.
"Yeah, I'll be there watching your tournament fight and cheering you on the whole way! Best of luck, Rowan!" Sean gave her the warmest smile he could manage. Rowan would do just fine in her tournament fight. There was no need to worry about that. She was strong. Sean had absolute faith in her. And afterwards, maybe the two could go do something together to celebrate her victory. Wouldn't that be sweet?
And with Rowan needing to leave now, it was sadly time to let go of her. As tempting as it was to just go and kiss her now, Sean did not want to make things awkward for her. So instead, he gave her a quick hug before waving as she left. "See ya later, Rowan!" Yes, this was goodbye, but goodbyes did not have to last forever. They would meet up later. And who knows, maybe the next time they did, the boy would be able to finish telling her the words he wanted to say. 'I love you, Rowan.'
Wait, what was I doing, again? Sean completely forgot what he was supposed to do before he had met up with Rowan. With everything that had happened, everything else that did not involve Rowan had been wiped clean from Sean's head. Oh well, it couldn't have been anything nearly as important as Rowan.

Everything was perfect. Everything was everything. Everything she wanted, everything she hoped for, she felt super awkward herself as it was Sean that let her open up to hugs and the like but she couldn't get over the fact that she only had attention for him. Zoomed in onto one person in her life and she was like, what. Yes, she wanted to learn to do such things as well but only from Sean. So many thoughts had crossed her mind when she looked at him and when he gazed into her eyes, she blushed a little and first looked away before shyly returning to his gaze. She smiled though, she wished it was a better time. Yes, she would have to confirm, she would tell him after the events if it would go on like this that she was in love with him. Yes, that was how Miku said it right? You felt it and you knew. Well, she knew, she knew now and she would want to tell him, in a better moment.
But that's why she got an internal moment of panic as he did not seem to get further than saying her name and saying I. She frowned and looked worried, what if he tried to break it to her softly that she, no that they, it would be bad. She looked at him, she heard her name again and a word that. Her thought process stopped and she flinched by hearing her name be yelled in the foyer of the hotel. People stopped, people stared and she wanted to hide behind Sean. God this was crazy, this was ridiculous. "You didn't." She said as she took his hand and looked up at him before looking at her grandmother shortly. "Really, she has been nagging all day, she kicked me away because my sighing was boring her and now she calls me. It's unfair." Should she? She took a few steps away, but please come to her match, she would see him there, right? He would have to come? He would be there to cheer for her and she let slowly go of his hand. She told her grandmother she was already coming with a little bit (if not much) annoyance in her voice. But she stopped and turned around quickly.
Sean had hugged her, but it felt so wrong to end their whatever it was in that way and she hurried back to him. Tiptoed and kissed him on the cheek again. As she had done that day in the hospital, as he had done the day in the hospital. "Let's talk again soon." Had he said, love? Had she heard that right? She wasn't sure at all, maybe her brain wanted to hear it and filled it in. She quickly hurried back to her grandmother and disappeared into the hallway where the elevators were. She felt impatient, she felt her blood boiling. Why at that exact moment? Were they spying on her, but she did not say anything of that out loud. She would wait, get into the elevator and just not say anything at all until they reached their suite. She would just hide in her room, she wanted to cry and scream and yell.
