I hope I'm not gonna regret this....
Being a pacifist Support Student, it was a given that Kumoko was not very good when it came to combat. She just could not bring herself to ever harming another living being. Still, even if the spider-headed girl wished to avoid combat at all costs, the fact of the matter was that there would be times where she would be forced to fight. And she could not always rely on others to come to her rescue. Kumoko was determined to never allow herself to become a damsel in distress. So despite not liking it, she needed to learn to get out of her comfort zone so that she could learn how to fight.
That, and Kumoko signed up for the battle tournament. So the poor girl really did not have much of a choice anyway.
Outside in a corner of the school that was out of everyone's way, Kumoko began to set up a few things. Several dummies to practice close-range combat on, several wooden targets to practice shooting down from afar with ranged attacks, a few small boxes to act as obstacles to practice maneuverability, and a couple of other things. Seeing as Kumoko was setting all of this up pretty much by herself, it was naturally nothing too fancy. Still, considering that the spider-headed girl had woken up at the crack of dawn to set all of this up and had spent a few hours making sure that she got everything done right, she supposed that things could have come out far worse.
Okay, with everything finally finished, Kumoko got to work on starting her training. Taking out her recently crafted slingshot and her bag of plastic pellets, Kumoko began to take aim at a target. It was about seven meters away, but the spider girl was reasonably confident in her shot. Taking aim, Kumoko pulled back and fired. Watching the pellet fly in the air, Kumoko smiled upon seeing it slam onto the target, only about half a millimeter away from the center. "Ooh, nice!"
Naturally, Kumoko would not set up all of these targets and dummies and just not let anyone join in on the fun. If anyone did come by this area and wanted to join in, they were of course more than welcome to do so. The more the merrier, in fact! But with how focused Kumoko was in practicing her shooting at the moment, chances were that she would not notice any newcomers right away, unless they grabbed the spider girl's attention somehow. Though if Kumoko did notice someone's presence, she would naturally be ready to greet them with a warm smile.
Assuming anyone decided to show up, of course.

Mizuki was worried for her brother. He had enter in both the battle tourney and event finale just on a whim. He didn't even know what he was going up against! But he was determined to do his best. Mizuki knew that Desmoshi could handle himself, but she couldn't help but to feel that some of the students was above his league. Her main mission today was made up of two things: one to find better support gear for her brother and her, and the second was to get in some training of her own. Ever since the day on the beach, she has come to realize there was more she could do with her abilities.
Mizuki was walking outside in another part of the school when she spotted someone. It was the girl with the spider head! Mizuki never really talk to her. Not from the fear of her mutation because to Mizuki she looked gorgeous! It was her inability to communicate with people that was the real issue. She wasn't what the girl would think of her. However, Mizuki was willing to try.
When she got closer she could see that the girl was practicing on some dummies with a man-made slingshot. 'Maybe she can help with me and my brother's support gear issue,' Mizuki thought to herself. She didn't want to assume that of course without talking to her more. She looked around to see that the girl had set up an obstacle course for training and wonder if she was training for the event. Mizuki was wondering if it would be okay for her to train with the girl and in the process make a new friend. She was friends with Berker, but she knew that she needed to meet more people. If these guys were her classmates, then she should try to get to know them.
"Hello," Mizuki started off. "My name is Mizuki Haymaker from class 1-A. I saw you that you were practicing over here and was hoping I can join in." She hope she wasn't being rude by cutting into the girl's training time.

Kumoko continued firing off several more pellets with her slingshot. After about six shots, the spider-headed girl made several important observations. First, firing pellets from her slingshot was actually pretty fun! Perhaps this would be her combat tool of choice for the tournament. Second, her shots were pretty accurate as long as she aimed for targets that were around ten to twelve meters away from her. Anything further than that just could not hit with enough consistency to be considered reliable. And third, of the shots she could hit consistently, Kumoko was surprised and pleased to see that most of the pellets hit their targets very close to the center. Kumoko smiled. Wow, I'm really getting the hang of this! Go me!
But then she heard an unfamiliar voice. Turning her head, Kumoko saw that it was a student, one that she had not seen before. Her name was Mizuki Haymaker, and she was apparently in class 1-A. Kumoko smiled and lowered her head in a bow. "Nice to meet you, Mizuki! I'm Kumoko Jorō of class 1-S. And you're definitely more than welcome to join in. Training is always more fun and effective with others!"
Kumoko wondered what Mizuki would like to do. Would the girl train on her own? Would she want to potentially spar with the spider-headed girl? As much as the thought utterly terrified Kumoko, she would ultimately not mind if that were the case. She did need to try to get over her excessive pacifism. After all, it was not like criminals and villains would care about Kumoko's desire to not fight. The world sadly did not work like that. She needed to adapt, to be able to fight back if criminals did come try to attack her.
"So what kind of training are you in the mood for? I set up the place to accommodate for almost any kind of training. Close quarters combat, target practice, obstacle course to test your speed and agility, pretty much anything I thought could come in handy." Kumoko then sighed, doing her best to hide her nervousness. "We could also spar if that's what you want to do. I can't really say I'm all that good as a training partner, but practice makes perfect I suppose."
Well whatever kind of training Mizuki was up for doing, Kumoko was more than happy to help out. And should anyone else show up and join in on the fun, Kumoko would be happy to help them out too. After all, helping out her fellow heroes was the job of a support student.

So she is from the Support class! What luck! She had been wondering where to go to get her and her brother's support gear. Maybe she could help. But she didn't want to ask her to just make her a bunch of things. She really did want to train with Kumoko. One day they would be on the battlefield together, fighting side by side. If she didn't take the chance to get to know her more as a friend, then did she really deserve to be a hero? Mizuki was slowly coming to terms that these students wasn't the same as they were at her older schools. These people actually care. Kumoko actually built a course not just for herself, but for others to try as well. At Kumoko's invitation to join her in training, Mizuki took it with a smile on her face. "Sure, I would like to join you in training," Mizuki said with a smile. "I been so busy helping my brother prepare for the event, I haven't had a chance to actually do some training myself. " Kumoko went through the different options she had set up. From an obstacle course to a target range, there was a lot that Mizuki could do. She even offer to spar with her. Mizuki wanted to spar. It's been a while since she sparred, and she really had not got a chance since she got to the academy. However, Mizuki wanted to test a theory first. And Kumoko actually provided a great opportunity for her test it out! "I would really love to spar," Mizuki said taking off her red jacket, "but I would like to test something out first if you don't mind." Mizuki picked up a pebble from the ground. She laced up her purple boots which was her support gear from home. Mizuki didn't want her powers flaring out of control due to her emotions while she was at school. However, Mizuki and Desmoshi's support gear wasn't cutting it anymore. When she talk to her father, he explained that the gear was intentionally made to help them start out with their quirk under control. However, the twins powers were growing and the material wouldn't hold up for much longer. Her dad suggested that they get support gear from UA, stating that the support class was amazing when it came to building tech. Mizuki took a deep breath and said, "Pump up the beat in Jersey City!! New Jersey Club Jam!!" At the moment she yelled her stance, she twisted her feet to activate one of the portions of her quirk- wind. Miniature hurricane began forming around her feet and ankles. Her eyes started to glow green as smalls gusts of wind blew of her. She began kicking the small stone on one foot like a soccer ball. Then she bounced the stone to the other foot. She did this back and forth between her feet until the stone became wrapped in giant ball of air. When Mizuki was satisfied that it was large enough, she try to hurl it at the dummies. When she went to kick the ball of air, she herd a loud rip coming from her boots. The boot that was kicking the ball was ripping away at the seams, shredding away due the element rippling through it. At the same time, her boot that was still on the ground was also coming undone. Her powers began to spin her out of control, causing her to slip and fall to the ground with a thud. The ball of air didn't even make it to the dummy and instead flew up into the air, spinning at high velocity. Just as it was about to come down, it dissipated in the air with a final gust of wind. "I knew it," Mizuki said to Kumoko, holding the shredded boot in her hand. "Our old support gear can't handle our power growth. It was fine when Desmoshi and I was first learning how to control our powers. Looks the old material won't hold out anymore." She got up from the ground with a sigh. She turned to Kumoko with a smile on her face. "Well it was going to happen eventually. Before we continue training can I ask for a favor, Kumoko?" She dust off her black shorts and asked, "Your with the support group right? Do you think they can build my brother and I some new support gear?" She pulled out the designs that she had researched into last night. UA had special material that was able to withstand her elemental abilities and help regulate it better. Or at least she hope. She handed Kumoko the designs which look this: The boots were purple and red in color with purple metal sole that had three vent holes in the front of it. Her brother's gloves were finger-less and blue in color. The knuckles had gold metal pieces with holes in it. "The gloves are for my brother and the boots are for me," Mizuki clarified. "When being having some issues with controlling our quirk and the old regulators that we had is just not going to cut it anymore." Mizuki laced up her shredded boots. "But we don't need to worry about that now. I would like to continue training with you and get to know you more. Is that okay with you?" She didn't want to seem like the type of person who asked for stuff and then leave when she got what she needed. She really did want to train with Kumoko and get to know her more as a person. Maybe Mizuki could show her a few moves.

Yay! Despite not being one to enjoy fighting, training was a different matter. It was not like anyone was getting hurt, or at least not seriously. And Kumoko liked helping others out more than she disliked having to fight. After all, she would not exactly be a great support student if that was not the case. So Kumoko was more than fine with helping Mizuki out with her training.
"Oh, you have a brother? And he goes here too? That's pretty neat!" Seeing as Kumoko had no family as far as she was aware of, it was interesting to see people who did have siblings. What was it like to have a brother or sister? To be an older or younger sister? Sure, Kenshin had talked to her about his younger brother Sai in the past, and she had been invited over to the Akadama household before. But seeing something and experiencing it for oneself were two different things.
Perhaps someday my biological family will try to reach out to me? Assuming they're still around and haven't abandoned or forgot about me, that is.
But now was not the time for that kind of thinking! Kumoko listened as Mizuki said that she would love to spar, but wanted to test something first. "Hmm? Oh, go ahead." The spider-headed girl watched and observed as Mizuki began using her quirk. "Ooh, that's awesome!" Kumoko was not sure if Mizuki's quirk involved wind manipulation or if there was more to it than just that. But either way, it looked impressive, and Kumoko eagerly watched in excitement.
Until something went wrong. Mizuki's boots seemed to rip, and the girl ended up slipping and falling. Kumoko, already used to this kind of situation herself having slipped and fallen more times than she could count, immediately ran over to try to help Mizuki up if she would let her. "Oh gosh, are you alright?"
But Mizuki seemed more concerned with what happened to her boots than her falling down. The girl explained that her and her brother's support gear were old and were no longer capable of handling their quirks. Kumoko already knew where this was going, and she already had her answer ready. Just a quick glance at the designs Mizuki showed her, and nothing else would be necessary. "Of course! I would be a pretty terrible support student if I refused to help. Just leave it to us! We'll get it done in little time!" If there was one thing Kumoko did pride herself on, it was sewing and crafting up hero gear.
But there was no need to worry about that right this instant. Mizuki seemed to want to continue training training now. "Sure thing! What do you want to do first?" The girl had no real preference. Beating up on dummies was fine, target practice was fine, running around on the mini obstacle course was fine, and sparring was... well Kumoko was okay with it. As long as she could help out Mizuki, then anything was fine.

What did she want to do first? Mizuki wasn't particpating in the event nor was she planning to. But maybe this was one way she could connect with some of the students. She had been sparring with Desmoshi, getting him in shape for the tourney. However, maybe she could help others as well. Besides, it wasn't like she was giving a huge disadvantage against her brother. Desmoshi would fight even the student was eight feet tall made of stone. That's just Desmoshi's love for the thrill of fighting.
Kumoko happily agree to assist with creating and revamping the twins' gear. 'Whew, well at least that's cover,' Mizuki thought to herself. Mizuki was even more happy when Kumoko said she wanted to continue training with her. First Honey, then Meiko and Berker, and now Kumoko! Maybe Desmoshi was right. Maybe making friends wasn't so bad after all. And for the first time in a long time, Mizuki actually gave a genuine smile and said, "That's great."
Kumoko asked if there was anything she wanted to do first. "Actually I wouldn't mind trying to practice some more on the range. My quirk allows me to coat my body in elements. But I am also trying to see if there is a way to increase its range." Mizuki knew that in the future that they would be times when her opponent was out of her reach. Being able to extend her quirk out more would probably help with that. "Why don't we hit the practice range a couple of times and go from there?" Mizuki didn't care what they did. She was just happy to hang out with a friend.

Kumoko smiled cheerfully. She was happy to be useful in any way to her fellow students. Since the beginning of the school year, the poor girl was worried that nobody would need her help, that she would feel underutilized as a support student, and that she would fail to do anything worthwhile to anyone. But throughout the year, the spider-headed girl was slowly able to prove to herself that she did not need to worry about these things. She was doing just fine. And as long as she could continue finding ways to improve herself, as well as continue to be useful to the students of UA, Kumoko would have no need to ever worry about being useless.
Compared to the beginning of the school year, I'm actually pretty decent now. I honestly never expected that! And I never expected to have as many friends as I do now. Well, I'm always happy to have more friends!
She nodded at Mizuki's suggestion of practicing at the makeshift range. "Alrighty! Range time it is!" It seemed as though the girl wished to improve the range of her quirk. Speaking of which, Kumoko was fascinated by it. Being able to control the elements? That's so cool! Well the simplest way to start training was to stand away from a target, just beyond one's range, and then keep using one's quirk in the hopes that the range would extend, even just a bit. While Kumoko was unsure if such a thing would work, she hoped it did so for Mizuki.
"Alrighty, just practice to your heart's content. And don't worry about damaging the targets. I can go get new ones anytime, so go wild!" Kumoko would aim for the targets opposite of the ones where Mizuki was. The girl did not trust herself to shoot anything accurately, and did not want to risk sending a stray shot towards the girl. It was safer to just practice on a different side. But before Kumoko would begin firing at her own targets, she wanted to see how Mizuki would do. Perhaps give some pointers in case the girl either wanted or needed it. But that would probably be unnecessary. But in either case, Kumoko was intrigued by Mizuki's quirk and wanted to see some more of it in action.
Imagine if I could electrify my webs. Or ignite them with fire. Or cool them down to freezing temperatures. Ooh, that would be so neat! Maybe I should try to build some special elemental nets later.

Mizuki gave a small smile to her new found friend. It was nice to be with people who didn't think of her any differently. She gave her some room so they can begin to practice the range. She didn't want the off chance to accidentally send a stray shot at her, possibly hurting one of her friends. She took off her ruined shoes and place it to the side. 'Concentrate,' she thought to herself. 'Breathe in, breathe out,' she thought to herself. She grabbed her bracelets which act as her regulators for emergencies. She picked up a stone and went in front of the target range.
Her father had taught her that the quirk allowed the user to create and bend the elements within. With enough practice she could transfer that energy into an object just like she did with her feet. Mizuki took a deep breath as she moved one of her hands in a curricular motion on over the small pebble, generating small like wind sphere around it. She continued doing this adding in fire, then water, and finally earth. The elements didn't mix into one another and kind of stacked on top of one another. She made it large enough and hurled it into the air.
As the ball was in the air, she flipped into a hand stand and bean spinning with her legs out. Mizuki then generated wind energy to her feet and struck the ball as it was coming down. The ball sailed across the terrain, its elements shining brighly and swirling as it picked up speed. With a loud a boom sound, she hit her target, splintering the training dummy apart. She couldn't believe she pulled it off. She stood back up in a normal position and took a deep breath and looked at Kumoko who was watching her. "So...umm... my bad," Mizuki said meekly. She didn't mean to mess up Kumoko's hard work and she kind of felt bad for that.

Kumoko smiled as she took out her slingshot and tried aiming at one of the targets in front of her. Pulling back the pellet, she fired and watched the pellet sail through the air. She grinned upon seeing it smack the target almost right in the center. Yay, I'm getting more and more consistent with my shots!
She took a moment to observe Mizuki to see how the girl was doing. Kumoko looked at the pebble Mizuki was using. Ooh, that's amazing! The girl watched as Mizuki added various elements to the pebble, making it into a ball of sorts. After seeing the ball get kicked, Kumoko watched it fly towards the training dummy and utterly obliterate it, wrecking it completely.
As Mizuki apologied, Kumoko shook her head. "It's alright, no need to apologize. I did say to go wild, after all. Plus, I can always get more dummies. But seriously, that was awesome!" It was no big deal if the dummies and targets got wrecked. That was pretty much their point, after all. "With a quirk like that, I'd easily bet that you'd make an amazing hero someday!"
The girl then sighed. "I sometimes wish my quirk could be like that. But it's far more useful for utility and support than combat." With that, Kumoko took her aim, and then shot out a golden string of web from her mouth. It sailed through the air, smacking a nearby training dummy right in the center of the target on the head. "Not bad, but certainly no boom." She then yanked the string from the dummy, wrapping up the thread and squishing it into a ball of golden silk.
"Alrighty, time to fly!" Kumoko then used the wad of silk in place of a pellet and fired it from her slingshot. Having aimed it a bit higher to compensate for the additional weight compared to a pellet, Kumoko was pleased that it had nearly struck her target dead center. "Not bad! At this rate, I should almost be set for the tournament." Kumoko still felt a bit nervous about it. Would she do okay? Would she embarrass herself in front of so many people?
Trying her best to keep her mind off the tournament, Kumoko decided to watch Mizuki target practice for a bit. Not only did it provide a good distraction, but the spider-headed girl wanted to see more of Mizuki's quirk in action.
