It was mostly government arranged, but the information was sent to Hatsumomo who had to be accountable for the students getting on the plane with the right teachers, for the plane to not crash. Good god, everything could happen and now that she had been in England, she was tired, frustrated and homesick. No one had made one shitty comment about her skin colour, that helped for sure. She got a little more over it with the last weeks and such, it was different for sure but it was fixable and ignored. It was all fine. Most of all it would be not necessary to think about. After tours, talks, history and the like Hatsumomo found herself making pictures because Itsuki had asked. Learning about the country because she promised she would tell him when she got back as if he was there. She did not want to make notes, that would be a little bit too pathetic but she also did not want to forget anything for him. Or ehm, anyone else that didn't come such as Blank and tell him, yea... That made sense. It took most of her time, thinking about what she could learn and to see the Valiant territory and make sure the preparations were okay. Hatsumomo really needed to learn to be more casual with that, leaving the matters into the capable hands of the Valiant Institution instead of in her own. She was not really good at delegating things and that was kind of obvious now. She took a deep breath as she leaned back on a chair and simply listened and watched. She should maybe just walk around, talk to some students. The foreign ones as well as their own and maybe the teachers, it would be interesting. She wondered for a slight second if U.A. would be fine with the number of teachers here but that had to be the case, Itsuki was there, enough capable people were still there and the government kept an eye out of course. They will be fineeee, no acid-spitting animal in her territory to ruin the walls and security. Was she that much like a mother hen? She did not even consider if she wanted children and her mother already kept bothering her about it. Why not annoy Chizuru with it, why her? Chizu wanted kids, but noooo they would ask Momo all the time if she got a boyfriend, if this was what her career was all about and the like. She liked her job, she liked the people, some a bit more than others. She blushed about those thoughts or a lot more than others.
She got an email pop up on her screen. She recognized it and took a moment to breathe before she opened it. What could a government official want with her right now, while she was sitting a continent away? She read it, if she had time one of these days to talk about the set-up in England, someone asked for her opinion as representative of U.A. instead of the government officials. Maybe they had already interviewed them so that would explain why they wanted a less political answer, maybe? She was tired, she wasn't sure what her job actually entailed anymore if such requests came in and she looked shortly at the other open apps on her phone before she replied that she had time now if they did. What time would it be in Japan at the moment? This person must be working over hours and boy were they lucky that Hatsumomo just read her email. They probably weren't lucky, they knew she carried either her phone or her tablet with her at all times. Yes, they probably knew that.
When she got the facetime call on her tablet, that was easier than her phone she looked surprised at the dark-skinned woman, she was pretty for sure. She was a government official? Huh, though the representative was pretty as well, she nodded to the screen when the woman thanked her for her time. She introduced herself as Narcissa King, an ambassador from Barbados who was in Japan to learn how the U.A. system worked and the pro-heroes. Strange that she had not been at the school yet? Though maybe not that strange, Hatsumomo and her had a short chitchat, that she couldn't come to England as she was looking at the festivities in Japan. Right, that made sense. There wasn't much yet they could talk about, but the woman was friendly, maybe even around her age so she pointed out things that had been bothering Hatsumomo but no one else mentioned. Was it strange to feel connected after a facetime call? It was. So they talked a little more about the second years and what Hatsumomo expected, Narcissa couldn't help but ask how it was to be a civilian in U.A. as that might be her future job if Barbados would start a small school. They talked a lot, it was so weird to share a lot but maybe it was the fact that she was homesick, that she wished either Chizuru or Mamoru were here or you know Itsuki. She got a little teased and the conversation went on and on and on until the woman from Barbados had to cut it short, she apologized but it was the time difference that made it difficult, they could call again sometime and meet up when Hatsumomo was back in Japan to talk over the event if she did not mind. Of course the receptionist did not and thus she said goodbye to the kind woman. With that she slumped back in her chair, she did not like sharing private information normally, but for some reason it had come easy and without her thinking about it. What would that make of her right now? Pathetic? Homesick? She took a picture of the tea she had in front of her and send it to Itsuki: "I miss our own drinks." before she put her tablet away and got up to make a round around the area, make some more pictures. It was not as if it was bad to share about yourself, especially once asked. It would be fine.
Or so she thought.
