Mizuki couldn't understand this. She would never understand this. How does her brother do this every morning and still have enough energy to get through the day? Mizuki was at 6:00 am. It was the week of the festival, and the crowds were gathering around to see the young heroes in action. Two of the foreign hero schools arrived today in order to take part in the competition. Although Mizuki's weekend was weird, she didn't think about too much or even fret about it. She had said her peace and she was going to move forth in her own way. However, moving forward would prove to be a little difficult.
She decided to hit the Training Grounds which she heard from Taka was perfect for training her quirk. He really had helped the twins out in the past few days. Although she was not participating in the battle tourney like her brother, she was still going to take part in most of the events that UA had to offer. And that meant getting physically fit and putting her quirk in order. Her brother had already started on trying to master the wind and water portion of their quirk, Elemental Burst. She figured it was time for her to do the same. Her time meditating on the beach had shown her that her powers had a lot more room for development. But first she had start with her trouble elements- earth and fire.
Fire wasn't too much of an issue. She actually used at certain times. It was the earth portion that cause the most problems from her. Mizuki lacked two thing her brother had: strength and stamina. Unfortunately, to wield stone and earth correctly, she needed both. The problem was it didn't match well with her fighting style which was flexibility and speed. Sure, her kicks had a lot of power behind it. But to lift heavy stone was going to take some time and she only had a few days!
"No need to panic," Mizuki said calmly. "I can do this." She took a deep breath and brought her foot up slowly. She brought it back down with a resounding thud that sent tremors through the rocky terrain of the training area. Rocks and stones begin to form around Mizuki's red shoes and up to her ankles. "That part is not the hard one," Mizuki said breathing slowly. "Here's where the difficulty begins." Mizuki started to run around the field. Each footstep she took sent a tremor through the field. Hopefully, it didn't cause the other students to lose their balance if they were training her.
At first, everything seem to being going in Mizuki's favor. "All right. Let's kick up a notch!" Mizuki yelled with confidence. She started to pick up more speed, racing as fast she could around the course. To those her watching her run, she seem like a blur. Mizuki always had amazing leg strength thanks to her mom's training. However, she felt a huge weight on her chest as she felt her stamina drain a little. However she kept going. "Come on. Desmoshi never gives up. SO... WHY.. SHOULD... I- AAAAH!" Mizuki was moving to fast to and the weight of the stone surrounding her feet suddenly threw her off balance. She begin to trip up on her feet and fall to the ground with a thud.
Mizuki could analyze any battle stance from a mile away. She could tell you what martial art was the prominent one and how to counter it. But she could not figure out how combine speed with stone. She looked around the training ground. Maybe there was someone who could help her.

Nenkin could see the focus in her eyes. He didn't know what it was about people like her. Nenkin himself was never the type to really just keep trying and trying and trying until he couldn't anymore, and apparently a bit of laziness like that was odd amongst the people at U.A. He didn't find that surprising but he would rather people call it efficiency more than laziness.
He was covered in a thick coat as usualy for the winter months. He had managed to drag himself out here early to force himself to train a bit more than he had to, or at least he thought he was going to. The pressure to succeed was on all of them this time of the year. Sports festival, final, he just wanted to be done with it all so that he could relax just a bit. Was that really too much to ask for? The boy pulled out his phone, wondering how much longer he had to wait before he could go eat some breakfast and not look like he was just trying to get out of training, but a sudden yelp of distress would catch his attention!
The very same girl that he had been watching not moments before fell into a terrible crash that managed to knock up a considerable cloud of dust behind her. Nenkin paused for a moment, half-expecting someone else, anyone, to do anything about it, but the grand world of heroics took him by surprise as the few others that were spending their time responsibly either gawked at the scene or quickly turned back to their own training. But Nenkin was not like that, if no one else did anything he couldn't suffer through watching others struggle like that!
With a light sigh, the boy shoved the device back into his heavy jacket and started jogging towards the girl. He ran the last few steps towards her on all fours and shifted that into a sitting squat so he could get just a bit closer to her. She didn't seem to be hurt from what he could see, but looks could be deceiving.
"H-hey, are you okay?" He would ask, offering a hand to the girl, and helped her up should she accept it.
"Sooo uhhh..." Nenkin rubbed the back of his head, not really sure what to say. He could just leave maybe. Wouldn't that be rude? "What... were you trying to do? I could feel those tremors all the way back at the bleachers."
He waited for her response before he realized he never introduced himself, he swiveled his eyes around a bit and shoved his freezing hands into his jacket pockets before dipping into a quick bow. "Kamekuji... my name's Kamekuji by the way!"

Yang had such an interesting school life so far. She met Desmoshi and Mizuki, found the library, and quickly left once she gotten directions to the training ground. Maybe it was better this way? She did indeed have her Sakabato and didn't want to get in trouble for having it on school grounds. She sighed, why couldn't she walk faster to the training grounds. It didn't take long before she found her way to the training grounds. She saw as Mizuki was training. It was amazing how fast she was going while trying to control her quirk. It made Yang a bit jealous. She sat back in the corner to watch when she saw another student approach Mizuki. She sized up the person..? What exactly was this thing? She curiously studied it for a few minutes. This was probably the first time in a while that she was confused by a person. He began to talk and introduced himself as Kamekuji. Maybe this is why Myrkul sent her to this school. It would expose to her to the new people, to new quirks, and maybe even a new world. She was slowly beginning appreciate that fact she was sent here. As Nenkin and Mizuki began to talk, she grabbed her sword and looked for a practice dummy. From what she could tell there was no readily available practice dummy. She shrugged and began to practice her sword fighting skills without one. She stretched first and then slowly breathed in and out. She had to stay in control of her quirk and this was probably the best way to do so. After she felt like she was ready, she started with her first sword technique. It was quite a simple one but with the length of time Yang practiced this move, she could perform it flawlessly. She did this several times before she stopped and looked over towards Mizuki and Nenkin. 'Be nice to have a practice partner, but that would mean talking to people...HMMMM...' yang thought to herself. She shrugged it off and began to practice her first form again.

'Well, that was embarrassing,' Mizuki thought to herself as she sat upright. She wasn't expecting to go down that hard. No wonder Desmoshi didn't focus so much on mobility when it came to using this element. It was really difficult to control. She looked around her fellow students who were either gawking at her or turning back to their training. 'I guess nothing changes no matter what school you go to,' she thought to herself, her head hanging low in sadness.
Since being here, Desmoshi tried to convince her of the positives of making new friends and that everyone was nice. She saw that in a few people, but not all. She usually hung out with Berker and Honey wasn't too bad either. But the other students... Mizuki wasn't too sure. To her, they seem to have too much drama in their lives and were more concerned with their romantic lives than actually being heroes. Then again, Desmoshi, always looking at the positive, thought it was just because the twins haven't been around the students that long and needed more time to get to know them. Mizuki only hoped that Desmoshi was right.
As she tried to recover from her blunder, she was met with a kind voice, checking to see if she was okay. She thought she had seen it all. From a squirrel girl to a man who literally uses bones as a quirk. But she never could have fathom of ever meeting someone who was a giant snail. But then again this was a school of quirkers and there was always something new every day. She took the helping hand although it was a little covered in slime. But it was nice to see that someone actually cared around here.
The boy introduced himself as Kamekuji. She wasn’t sure where she heard that name before, but it did sound familiar. “Hello,” Mizuki responded quietly, trying to put on her best smile. “My name is Mizuki Haymaker. Thank you for your help. As for the tremors, that was me. I was trying to work on something before the event kicked off.” While she was conversing with Kamekuji, she noticed Yang practicing her swordsmanship in the corner. She had never really seen a swordsman before but she knew the weapon that she was holding.
And then an idea came to her. She took a deep breath to calm herself and looked over in Yang’s direction. Maybe she would give her brother’s words of advice another try. “Hey, Yang!” Mizuki called over with a smile. “You want to come over and practice with us?” At the mention of us, she turned to Kamekuji and said, “I would like it if you stayed and practiced as well with us. I would like to try to get to know you more.”

Yang was sweating. She was in her own zone remembering the techniques Myrkul had taught her. He attempted to teach her all aspects of Martial arts but it seems like her swordsmanship was the strongest of it all. "Wrong! Control your breathing or you will die at this rate!" Myrkul was harsh at training Yang but he didn't have much of a choice. After personally experiencing what Yang's quirk could do, he needed to instill structure into her and he needed to do it quickly. Her quirk was dangerous and it was easy why people would view her as a demon. It was only by some grace that Myrkul didn't decide to make her into a villain instead of a vigilante and eventually into a hero. He sighed this would be training from hell. And that is exactly what it was. It was years before she could get the basic techniques down while using her quirk. Present day, she wasn't using her quirk. Instead her black tee shirt was weighted down which made her breathing different. She had to adapt with the weighed shirt as it would eventually become cumbersome. She wiped the sweat off and noticed Mizuki was saying something. She blinked and realized Mizuki was inviting her over. It was a few minutes before Yang responded. She nodded and walked over closer to the two. Luckily her Sakabato was in school regulations. She had found out not too long ago that her blade to her weapons had to be dull or she could be expelled from the school. However when there was an issue an actual issue of course her blade would be sharp. She will do whatever it took to live past the moment. She breathed deeply and grabbed her note pad. 'What are you thinking...?' she kept up the charade of her being mute. Mizuki already knew but that didn't mean the rest of school does. After writing her response, she turned the note pad over for Mizuki to read. Yang was practically down for anything as long as it didn't involve her quirk. She tired out way too quickly when she used it. Even when she became a vegetarian, had extra supplements, and a training regimen. It just wasn't enough. Hopefully she could improve that but it probably would be a long time from now. All she could do is focus on the present and hope to piece together her past. It was funny most people wanted to forget her past but she wanted to remember it. She wanted to be whole but she wanted to do it her way and not they way her other personality kept insisting was correct. One day she could hope to be a normal teenage girl with a quirk. No more no less. Until then she will keep trying to improve herself. It is as if this school became another catalyst in Yang's life. Exactly what Myrkul was hoping it would become. It gave her the drive that she needed now all she had to do was find her own path of life and walk down it without fear.

Mizuki read the note very carefully word for word. She wasn't too sure on what they should do. She gave it some thought and came up with an idea. When was the last time she had fought without using her quirk? She could use some practice in her Muay Thai and maybe help with speed issue. Plus she had some equipment she needed to test out to help with earth problem.
"How about a friendly spar?" Mizuki suggested. "No quirks. Only technique." Mizuki had wonder would happen in the event her quirk decided to.. stop working. It would be good to test out theory and see where it could go. "I mean, it could be fun," she added. She was trying to find more ways to bond with the students here at UA. She wasn't much for the girly-girly things. And she definitely do to well to hold herself in a conversation. Maybe this was her chance to actually connect with other people besides attempting to converse.
Plus the freedom she felt when she fought. She always felt like her quirk was a trap to her, feeling as though she was only using to fulfill her father's legacy. She thought about what the man said on the beach. He said that maybe her family wanted her to stand next to her, not in there shadows. But every time she used her Muay Thai or her quirk she felt like she was apart of their shadow.
Maybe she needed to be at UA to separate the difference between the two. She waited for Nenkin's and Yang's response. As she did, she took out her training weights and wrapped around her ankles. They weighed at 1,320 pounds and was her dad's answer to help her with her speed and strength. She was anxious to see how much it would help out.

"Uhhh, yeah, I thought that was the case." The boy rubbed this neck, not sure how to respond. "What was it?"
He hated the thought but a thought that passed through his head was something along the lines of 'instant regret.' He had a feeling that he knew. In fact, he felt like he was the only one here not actively pursuing it. He started thinking of the best way to dip out. Though, before the girl could do much to respond, he saw her gaze shift and a bit of weight was lifted off his chest.
Wait... no! What was she doing?! Did she just volunteer him for her training regiment. His head snapped towards her, but he didn't say anything. For the first time in a while he was glad that his face d.idn't belay emotions very well! He tensed up a bit and shoved his hands into his coat pockets. He took a few seconds to respond. Why was he trying to avoid this so much? Anxiety?
"Eherm... Of course, sure!" He let out a nervously surprised chuckle. "Why wouldn't I be? It's that time of year right? We can't just be slacking off!" Hypocrisy poured through his teeth, of course, but he couldn't let anyone else just know that!
His curious eye stalks swiveled over to the new arrival, Yang. Never met her, but now that he actually paid attention the way she was carrying herself was seriously creepy! His eyes did a double take as she wrote something down. Was that a sword?! Who carried something dangerous like that around on campus?!
"Eto..." He found it a bit weird that this 'Yang' character didn't say a word yet, one of his eyes looked back to the note before his full gaze shifted back to Yang, hoping to gain her attention for a moment, and questioningly to his own voice box. He had just a sneaking suspicion. It would be soon after that he would be pulled back to Mizuki's slightly impromptu training session!
"Okay... my quirk's not on a switch like that though?" He was about to go on but what Mizuki was doing caught his attention. "W-what are you doing?" They looked like ankle weights, if a little off. He felt a bit dumb for asking. Actually, those looked really big, maybe his quesiton had more merit than he thought it did?

"That's fine," Mizuki replied with a smile. "You don't have to worry about that. We are just to going to practice some hand-to-hand combat. No need to try to go an extra mile." At the mention of hand-to-hand, Yang put away her sword in her gym bag and took a stance. As everyone crouched into a stance, Mizuki couldn't help but wonder what her life would be like if she had not decided to come to UA. She felt trapped in her parents shadow, feeling like she had to live up to an expectation. But thanks to the man on the beach, whether he was good or evil, he helped on accepting herself. A concept that Mizuki never thought that would come from a complete stranger. She will make a name for herself and give herself more freedom.
And here in this moment... this is how she wanted to do. Spending time with friends and getting to know others. Mizuki couldn't help but smile. She may not be apart of the event but at least she was finally making friends here at UA. No one to judge her for who she was or where she came from. Everyone here was on equal footing. And as the light sparring session began between the three young students, Mizuki couldn't help but feel that this is what she wanted.
