Now that she had a moment to train, a moment to relax, it was good to pick up a few more steps again and she would look around the festival and see what to do. Maybe get some food, were there members of the cooking club? Was there anyone hosting things? She was rather curious and she would see for today what to do, she knew she had to prepare for the other stuff if she wanted to make a good representation of what she learned in the last four months but she did not want to put more pressure on herself. She had done that this morning and it did not bring her any further than just relaxing and enjoying the meeting of others and maybe she could go find Kumoko.
It shouldn't be that difficult to find a tall, spider head person but it was rather difficult if you were so small as Honey and would reach above some people their hips, but only barely, so that everyone looked like a forest of legs and she could not see much. When did it suddenly get so busy? Where was everyone, she wanted to just find her friend! Should she jump into the chat to shoot a message to Kumoko? Maybe that helped as her friend might look at her phone. Honey dodged some tall legs and went to sit next to a pillar of the main building of U.A.
@-Kumoko: Hi I am looking for you but it suddenly got busy, I am at the main entrance, can you come and find me? ;-;
That was the best she could do and now she waited to see if her friend would read her phone and had time, she really hoped so because it was scary with so many tall people around, she felt like someone might stand on her tail or so and she wrapped it around her middle.

So many things to do, yet so little time. Ever since the Sports Festival had started, Kumoko was hard at work doing everything she could to prepare, especially for the tournament. It was not like she actually cared about winning. After all, a hero's job was to help protect and serve the people, not being the very best like no one ever was. Still, it would be rude of her to be too weak for her opponent (opponent in the singular and not the plural because Kumoko doubted that she would get past round 1) to get a decent challenge from her. Plus, this was her chance to showcase her abilities and everything that she had learned so far this school year. The spider-headed girl did not want any of that to go to waste, especially with all the people that had helped get her to where she was today.
Dad, Kenshin, G, Nimue-sensei, all my senpais, everyone. I promise I'll do my best out there. I... I won't let any of you down!
Kumoko's thoughts would suddenly be interrupted as she heard her phone vibrate. Eh? She checked her phone. Her eyes widened. It was Honey! Her fellow classmate was looking for her! Kumoko immediately began typing, not wanting to keep Honey waiting.
@-Honey: Stay where you are. I'll be right there! I won't make you wait long, I promise! ;;;-;;;
Running as quickly as she could, Kumoko hurried on over to the main entrance. Naturally, finding the squirrel girl would be difficult with how small she was and how many people were around. It was thankfully not as difficult as finding a needle in a haystack, but it would definitely not be easy finding Honey. Not that Kumoko would give up. She would definitely find her fellow support student!
"Honey-chan?! Can you hear me? Where are you?"
Naturally, with how fast Kumoko was moving, with how frantically she was looking around to find Honey, and how many people were around, it was only natural that Kumoko would end up not being careful enough and inevitably trip. "Eep!" Kumoko slipped, fell down, and closed her eyes and gritted her teeth as she braced for impact with the floor. "Owwww."
Fortunately, this fall would not be in vain. Upon opening her eyes, Kumoko would notice that Honey was right there! She then smiled. "Hi there. Hope you don't mind me just dropping in." After chuckling at her own lame pun, Kumoko slowly got up from the ground. "I'm okay." Well there were certainly better ways to meet up with Honey, but at least the two girls had met up now. Things could have certainly gone far worse.

It was scary how busy it got all of a sudden and even though Honey did not mind a lot of people she did mind that she was basically pushed and pulled to every side because people did not pay attention to what was around hip height for some people. At first, she found it funny, it reminded her of the game she had played before she had bumped into Shouko, until it started to hurt and she hide next to the door of the main building. It was held open with a door stopper so she could hide a sort of behind it but be not completely obstructed from other people, it was just a place where no one wanted to go as a destination and she huddled behind it and wrapped her tail around herself. She was not really afraid but she was not entirely happy about everything either. How did Jisatsu survive last year and wasn't there another small student?
Kumoko texted back rather fast and there was a sigh of relief, this might be survivable at all. She got a little better now and would simply wait for her friend to arrive. Yea, it would all be fine once Kumoko was here. Oh, she felt her ears move around a little when she thought she heard her friend. She did hear her and tried to jump up a little to indicate to Kumo-chan that she was here but she couldn't get over the people nor the sound really. She huddled together again when she did see her friend eventually and did see her fall, she put her hands on her cheeks and looked at her friend with her big green orbs. She waved shyly at her friend when she said hi and she tried to suppress her giggle but alas, she did laugh a little. "Really?" She asked her friend as she said she was okay, that could have hurt her badly! She beckoned her friend to come to her and she was glad to have been found. "It got scary busy at once. I was afraid people would even step on me!"

Kumoko could not help but laugh as well when Honey did so. It was pretty funny. Though the spider girl was a bit unsure whether Honey's 'really?' referred to the spider girl's terrible pun or her insistence that she was okay despite the fall. Or maybe both. It was fine either way, however. The spider girl did not mind making herself look stupid for the sake of comedy. And she had suffered far worse falls in the past. At least there was no bleeding or bruising. "No worries. I've had far worse trips than this."
But enough about her! Kumoko was here to check if Honey was alright. The poor squirrel girl was worried about being stepped on with how crowded it got in here. How fortunate that such a thing was avoided! "I can't even begin to imagine how that must have felt. But hey, you're alright now. I'm here, and am tall enough to let people know not to step on me, and you by extension. Just stay close by my side, alright?" Yes, the two needed to go find a place that was far less crowded. This was simply ridiculous! How could anyone move around with all these people?
A shame I can't just walk on the walls and have Honey hold onto my back as I do so. As quick as that would be, using my spider legs to walk on building walls isn't exactly allowed. Aw, too bad.
While the two girls were here, they could have a nice chat. "So if you don't mind me asking, what were you up to before you texted me? Anything in particular you wanted to go do?" Kumoko was not busy at the moment, taking a break from planning for tournament stuff and worrying about losing in the very first round. She did not mind hanging out with Honey. In fact, it sounded like it would be pretty fun!

Honey would scoot close to her friend now that she was here and assured her that she was fine. Even though Honey had laughed about the comical factor it was still an official worry and she was glad to hear that Kumoko was fine. It was a shame for someone with so many legs to be a little clumsy in tripping so often, but what could she do about it. She told Kumoko what her problem was and that she got a little scared, she should definitely get used to it as there was a high possibility later in her work to be squashed but when you could avoid it, that would be great. She scooted even a little closer more and looked up to her friend. She nodded a little, she was alright and she started to smile when her friend said that she was here and could protect her. "Yes!" She said a little more enthusiastic now. So now that they had a solution it was maybe a possibility to go to the picnic place and talk and have fun and food, she suggested that to Kumoko but the girl seemed to be in her thoughts and Honey looked at her wondering what she was thinking.
"Oh, I have been everywhere, I saw Yaya-kun in the training room this morning, I went for a walk, I eh..." She pondered, what had she all been doing? "I thought maybe to watch the clubs and get some food?" Because she wanted to join a club next year, if she needed no tutors that would mean she would have more free time in the next year to actually do something fun. "What clubs are you part of?" She asked because maybe she could do something together with Kumoko, because that would be the most fun for sure!

Yes, it was decided! With Kumoko by her side, Honey would not need to worry about getting stomped on by accident. But with that, Kumoko just had a thought. She could not help but imagine Honey riding on top of her head. It was half hilarious and half adorable. But that was not really something Kumoko felt like sharing to the squirrel girl. It was rather silly, after all.
Kumoko listened as Honey explained what she had done. So she went to the training room and saw... "Wait, Yaya-kun?" It took a while for Kumoko to realize who Honey was referring to. "That's Yasashi-san, right?" She smiled. Yasashi was a cool guy. She was glad to be the one to help him out on his first day. Come to think of it, Kumoko had also helped out Honey on her first day. At this rate, who wasn't the spider girl helping on their first day? Not that she minded, as she was always happy to help those in need.
Anyway, Honey continued. So besides seeing Yasashi, Honey had also went for a walk, then... oh wait, that's a pause, then she thought to go watch the clubs and get something to eat. "That sounds pretty eventful." Kumoko had done a bunch of stuff herself, but unless Honey asked her about it, there was not much point in sharing. But if she did ask, then Kumoko would not mind telling her about her day.
"Clubs? Well, I'm on the Cheerleading squad, and I'm in the Actual Arts Club." Kumoko liked that name. Not that Martial Arts could not be considered a form of art in it's own right, but there was not much drawing or painting involved in Martial Arts. Unless there was a fighting style out there that incorporated that? Now that would be unique and worth seeing! "My friends convinced me to try out to become a cheerleader. I was super nervous and I was afraid of underperforming. So I somehow ended up overperforming instead. It's a long story, and to be honest, it's one I'm kinda embarrassed to tell. But Rowan-senpai and Farrah-senpai are really nice, and the rest of the cheerleaders are really kind too!"
Kumoko then continued. "As for the Actual Arts club, I joined that one primarily because I was inspired to draw again after my friend's aunt made a suit design for me. I actually sewed it a while ago! And I'm in the middle of modifying it to use for the tournament! I just hope I can do her design proud. But drawing is just really fun to do in general!"
The girl then sighed. "I'm kinda afraid of overworking myself. Because otherwise, the Robotics club sounds really neat. It would be pretty useful to learn to do more with tech." In truth, Kumoko really wanted to be creative and build a robot. But she did not feel like she was currently skilled enough to pull it off. At least not on her own. Perhaps she should approach one of the students in that club sometime?
She then gasped. "Omigosh, I'm sorry! I talked a lot again, didn't I?" Kumoko could not help it. While she was usually quiet, shy, and reserved, once she found a topic that really captured her interest, she became almost a chatterbox and had a hard time stopping! "But what about you? Any clubs that interest you?" While it would be very neat if Honey joined a club Kumoko was already a part of, she did not want the girl joining a club she didn't like just to be with Kumoko. If Honey had a particular interest, then she definitely should go follow whatever path she chose. And naturally, Kumoko would listen to Honey's thoughts and interests. After all, it was only fair after Kumoko went on for longer than she intended to.

Honey nodded when she was telling about her day and Kumoko quickly translated her nickname for Yasashi. "Yea, he is really nice and he is nicely warm in the morning." She wrapped her tail around her, "I can't wait for the cold to leave the air, it's so difficult to get up. If only I had a roommate that would kick me out of bed." Or at least help her wake up, it explained why she was late for many homeroom classes and why she was so groggy in the morning. She looked at Kumoko with bright eyes and continued to tell about the rest of her day. She asked what Kumoko did and listen but she wanted to join a club next year, at least one. The thing was that it would be rather cool now that she did not need tutors.
The clubs that Kumoko were in both sounded great and she bit her lip. If she wanted to stay away from imposing her acting and POP-UP identity then she couldn't join the cheerleader club and she looked away from Kumoko. Her tail and ears dropped a little but she would listen. She tried to pay attention and be nice for her friend, "Oh that's so cool, one day you have to tell me the whole story." It was also impressive to meet more second years, she had barely done so and it was no surprise. Maybe she could try to scrap some time away from the soon third years and make their day better by a little performance. Oh, no not that. "I want to join the arts club. I thought about designing and just you know learn how to sew or so." She might be clumsy and have no patience but she could do something like designing and it was her dream to be more useful. Maybe she could make designs while someone like Kumoko could help her making it if she could follow the one from her aunt. That was impressive. She nodded, "I am a disaster with tech." She admitted out loud, but it be cool if she could eventually manage to make blue prints, but she should take it easy on that front. Next school year she would learn all, she would work harder in her own free time and would focus on becoming what she wanted to do.
She looked up in surprise as her friend gasped, "Oh no-no, no you didn't. I wanted to hear all. I haven't had time to join last year because I got a tutor at home and I had acting and dance classes and si-." Her eyes turned big and she looked at Kumoko, in her effort to calm down her friend, she had said too much to explain why she asked her now. "I eh was not allowed to say that." She mumbled. But in the end she could tell Kumoko a little more and it was so nice to share with someone about her secret and her work on becoming part of a bigger thing and not only as a hero but also as a pop-idol. She still had a long way to go but it was going better. After that, something in the conversation made her eyes turn bigger again, "We should be roommates next year!"
And that's the most important part of what happened for Honey on the festival. She got rather excited and Kumoko had to tell her that Miku wasn't here to join the actual arts club, so that she would have to wait for after the whole event and maybe the next year to find her new distraction.
