It is kind of obvious that if you are at the same place, you eventually bump into someone that you had met before. Hanako had taken that bus, gone to Valiant, was identified as mother of two of the students, (she wasn't entirely sure what she felt about that at this point). But here she was, the school looked so different from Yuuei, so what to call it? The old-fashioned building, posh English people again something she just assumed, her English was okay but not the best so she just avoided opening her mouth. She had wanted to come here before everything started to find the girls, know where they were and just let them enjoy their time without her worrying about anything.
But she had maybe unpractically decided to go alone. Surely she should have gone with G, he was probably mad at her for disappearing and leaving a note that he should watch over Kai. It wasn't fair but she needed a moment to breathe, to consider their plans and what they talked, screamed and yelled about. It would not be a surprise so to say if the Sakamoto family kicked them out of the hotel but Hanako was exaggerating, she knew it had been necessary but that did not mean everything was fixed in one day. It was going to be better for sure but she needed space, even if she had a lot already, she needed new space. She wondered if she should call Elena but for now she simply wandered around the school without a real focus. Hanako probably looked lost because of that but up till now she managed to shake off the nice English student who tried to ask her something, she wasn't in the mood to show off her bad English, so she wouldn't, she would smile and continue walking, there was nothing else to do.
She thought about the students of Yuuei, not that she knew many but she had seen a few matches last year, she had been to one of the stands to talk and once a long time ago she had interviewed one properly, and once she had simply walked away out of an interview as the student had been stupid, rude and just... space Hanako. Right, she wasn't going to think back about it, this would be fine, this would be okay. In just a few minutes she might simply return to the bus and go back to the hotel and take Kai and nap or something.

Post by Tetsuko Shindou on Feb 21, 2020 11:26:23 GMT -4
Tetsuko's mind had been plagued with nothing but thoughts these days.
Her meeting with her Grandfather had provided some greater direction that she'd lacked, and her feelings of consolidated comraderie with her friends gave her plenty of support and courage. Yet, the swordswoman could hardly stop her mind from running at a rapid pace, filled with questions and concerns. Though it was only natural, really, with how uncertain she was about how she was going to proceed with this Exhibition Festival. Whether it was wise or not, Tetsuko had staked her very 'self' on the upcoming events. To learn the reason for which she fought, and continue to fight, she would commit herself wholeheartedly to the style she'd trusted in, and see where the blade guided her. To see what she might find if she strove for that 'Marobashi' of which her elders had spoken...
It was an odd strategy for odd times; to try and find herself within the centuries old style of swordsmanship, while feeling the weight of her bonds urging her on. It was a mindset that had compelled her to train almost religiously, though, that wasn't all too different from her usual habits. The main difference was that now, she needed to stress training every single form she knew... Everything, to see the big picture.
It was an exhausting process, and Tetsuko still wasn't sure if this was any less stressful than last year's sports festival... But, obsession moved her forward. Even if it was an almost aimless march...
So how fortunate it would be, that when Tetsuko found herself wandering the grounds of the Valiant Institute, returning from a training session, that she might end up coming across a figure that had once offered her guidance in a time of great peril. It was beyond a year ago now, but Tetsuko had hardly forgotten...
Valiant was far too different, Tetsuko noted, as she roamed it. Far different to Japan, to anything she'd seen in her home country, let alone just U.A. itself. It almost made her wish that her first proper trip to Europe hadn't been accompanied by the need for focus on training and meetings with the opposing schools... Alas, the duties of the designated #1 and head of the disciplinary committee were plentiful as ever.
Of course, Tetsuko's rather lacking English didn't help her stress levels.
However, in this unfamiliar land, the Shindou girl spotted a face amidst the crowds that was awfully familiar. As she happened to pass by the woman, Tetsuko's eyes widened a moment, and she blurted out all of a sudden.
"Eh, Hanako-san?" She uttered, pausing to realize her misstep. As she bowed her head before the woman, she continued speaking - in Japanese, of course. "Ah, sorry. I'm not sure if you remember, you interviewed me a while ago, as a reporter. Sorry, this was sudden, I just... Am surprised to see you here." Well, after a moment's thought, it wasn't too surprising.
This was a big event after all. It made perfect sense members of the press would be present.

She wasn't entirely there. There was a lot going on in her mind that made her not really look around and see faces. That was a bit of a difficult thing to do when you were actually looking for people but alas, it would get to that point. She should maybe text G, could she do that? That she needed fresh air and that they could continue their talk or their hugs or whatsoever further on. She did not want him to be near her right now, not to hug her right now. Her body would shiver. Hm, what to do, where to go and better yet where would she find them? Maybe she should just give up and focus on the situation. The looks of Valiant and York and enjoy that for a moment get fresh air and head back indoors and to her husband, before anything else could get worse. She would just have to be honest with him. She wanted to avoid such issues but she wasn't one to talk and that made it all the more difficult. What would she do about it? How could she fix it? Therapy? She wanted to refuse to think they needed relationship therapy. What good would come from that? Maybe she should call Elena? Though she wasn't ready for another speech and neither from aunt Sayaka.
She did not see Tetsuko, as before she did not see anyone their faces or such. She should focus on that but she was still musing over what she should do. Her name immediately hit her like a baseball bat and she blinked a few times and stopped walking to only noticed a silver-haired girl bow in front of her and when she got up again, Hanako stared at her. Tetsuko Shindou. She had not reacted fast enough, had not said her name and the girl apologized to her and Hanako felt a little mean by her own doing. "Oh no, no I do. Your interview was probably my most read article." She smiled and tried her best to do and be uplifting enough. She could not help but laugh a little, "Believe me I am too." Why was it so relaxing to be out now and to talk to Tetsuko, instead of all the worry from seconds ago. "It's a long story, but I am here as a visitor." She held up her left hand to show her wedding ring as if she was guilty for doing something wrong, "I married someone's dad, so no paper and pen for me, I am just here to watch." She smiled, yes, she was still happy they married, right?

Tetsuko was quite happy to hear that Hanako remembered their interview, from back when Elise had been the victim of an almost deadly attack. That seemed like it was an age ago now, all the scars from that time now faded and barely registering as Tetsuko recalled the events. It was nice to know the pain could heal, and that she'd made enough of an impression on the reporter before her that she might be remembered. Furthermore, it was one of her most popular articles, it seemed.
"A-Ah, I see..." Tetsuko uttered. Hanako was quite an interesting connection for the swordswoman, one who she found herself naturally looking up to as and older female figure. The Shindou girl chuckled lightly at their mutual surprise to see one another at the festivals, finding something warm about conversing with the older woman. Hanako explained that she was a visitor too, and Tetsuko's initial instinct was that it was to do some reporting. However, her eyes would soon widen in surprise at the wedding ring flashed her way, shocked at a sudden development!
"O-Oh! Congratulations, Hanako-san!" Tetsuko announced suddenly, the information still processing in her mind. So she was married to someone, that enough was worth congratulating... But there was also something else in her words... A question that begged answering!
"I-If you don't mind my asking, whose father did you marry?"

Who would have thought, she knew that last year she came here too to support Miku and Haruuhi but they were not married yet. They did not have a son yet. Now the world had turned so much faster than she expected and it was almost embarrassing and funny at the same time. She would blush, was it not that the situation again was rather delicate. But this time, G was here, which was different from last year too. But she did not lie to Tetsuko, she really was convinced that it was one of her better articles, maybe together with the Semper Fi one but as the interview with Tetsuko was a follow up on that, it was only reasonable that it was read well or well both.
Even though she knew Tetsuko went to U.A. her own obsession with the school had strangely subdued. That was a shame, now that she could basically walk in and the like, it was probably because of that that the interest was gone. But she had not expected to bump into the student. It was fair to say she had not considered bumping into someone she knew here in England, it mostly had to do with just not thinking and well she assumed everyone was busy. She explained however to Tetsuko that she was here as a visitor, not as a reporter. Though it might itch a little to report on it if that was still her source of income, she was now a gym owner. Yes, she missed being Lady Scandal or for the outside world being the assistant but well it was the way it was. And with a sheepish smile and an embarrassed expression, she showed her wedding ring to the girl.
She blushed even more when she heard the words Tetsuko said and put her hand on her cheek. It made her smile, and it should. She still did love Gil but she had disappointed him and she could not bring up that part of the conversation ever. Not to him, not to herself. "Oh, ehm Miku and Haruuhi's." She thought about Gil and well it was obvious that she immediately pictured him and she wondered if he was still in the hotel or had gone out or what he was doing. She did not mean to shut him out, but she could not stand being that failure either. So much for a partnership really. "Do you know them?" Were they in the same class? Though she doubt that Tetsuko was in the class with Haruuhi but she did not really get the school system, that was the support class right?
