"Woah!"
Sean could not believe it. The United Kingdom. This was now the third country in the world the boy had stepped foot in. First, The United States, the country of his birth. Then Japan, which was his home ever since he and his mom had moved out of Hawaii when he was six. Not a pleasant memory there, but at least everything that came afterwards was smooth sailing. ...Well, almost everything. Darn comas ruining that nearly perfect streak of no incidents!
But now Sean was here in Europe! And it was all thanks to the help of the amazing, wonderful, and very pretty Rowan Sakamoto. Well technically her dad, but same thing here! But now was not the time to think about her, as he would then be doing that all day. But seriously, doing something this awesome, Sean just had to thank her and her dad with something special. There was no way he could not!
There was so much to see here! So much to do! Meet new people. Chat with familiar faces. After all, Rowan was not the only UA student who Sean would be cheering on for the Festival. Not that there was anyone Sean wouldn't cheer on regardless of whether he knew them or not. Still, if the former UA student could not participate like he did last year, then the next best thing would be seeing his friends do their best out there while he cheered them all on.
As Sean continued taking in the sights, he noticed a white-haired man. Is it just me, or have I seen this guy somewhere before? After thinking about it, Sean just shrugged. Oh well. Maybe I can go find a friend to say hi to. I wonder if Miku is...
And then it hit him. That white-haired guy! Sean did see him somewhere before! A long time ago, in fact. Well before the coma. Miku's dad! Excitedly, Sean walked a bit faster. And as he got closer, he saw the half-black portion of the dude's hair. There was no mistaking it. This definitely was him! Once Sean caught up to the guy, he decided to greet him the same way he did the first time. With a Hawaiian greeting. After all, what was a more fitting way to greet a fellow Hawaiian than a greeting in their native tongue?
"Aloha, dude! It's been ages! How's it going?"

Exploring York, G was fond of the fact he was surrounded by english speaking folk. It was nice to use his language. But after a while he had to ask what WAS his language? He's been in Japan so long, he used that language a lot. Is Japanese his language now? Or was it english and hawaiian because of his heritage.
But speaking of Hawaiian "Aloha!" That was Hawaian... in the UK? G turned around and saw that boy he saw once at ... DAGOBAH BEACH!? Wait wait... why is he here? Was he here for the festival too? Water boyo! Whats his face! "Ayyyy, aloha to you too! What brings ye here? The festival?" G spoke in english and opened his arms. Considering Sean was Hawaiian, he guessed the boy knew english. He was glad to see Sean, almost wanted to hug the fellow hawaiian.
G also had to stop himself from going dad mode on Sean and be like 'oh how you've grown' and add other parenty stuff, but he couldnt help himself as he was glad to be with a compatriot. He was probably exploring the town too and seeing the sigts, maybe they could do that together?

It was nice to see his fellow Hawaiian. Seeing as the boy had not been in Hawaii since he was six, and Hawaiians were not exactly common to see outside of Hawaii, Sean always looked forward to seeing them. Well, there was one exception, but Sean preferred to not think about him. Anyway, it was good to see G again. How long had it been? Definitely a while before the coma, so over a year ago. Jeez, time flies! The boy still had a quirk back then! He still went to UA. But enough dwelling on the past! The present was what was important right now.
"Yup, I'm here to cheer my friends on!" A shame he could only cheer them on and not be right there with them. Ah well. The boy was at the very least determined to be among the loudest person cheering UA on in the crowd. "I'm guessing you're here for Miku?" That made sense. A dad wanting to watch his daughter doing her best in the Festival. Oh wait, daughters was more accurate. He did have another one besides Miku, right? Sean was unsure, as he had only met Miku. "I'm sure Miku will do great. I believe in her! I'll definitely cheer her on!" Sure, she might not have won last year's tournament, but the plant girl still did very well from what Sean had seen. And with one year having gone by, he was confident that her skills had only gotten better since then.
"But yeah, it's been so long! How's it been, dude?" So much had happened since that day the two met on the beach. Surfing, chatting for a bit, even a short spar with that awesome summon of G's. What was that isopod's name again? Sean could not remember due to how long ago it was. It was a shame the boy could not ask for a rematch. It would have been cool to make another water doppelganger to fight against the summon. Ooh, or maybe a water dragon! Or a shark! Or a mermaid? Sadly, that would no longer be possible.

Sean said that he indeed came here for the festival. He wanted to cheer his friends on. He then guessed G was here for Miku. "And Haruuhi!" he added, confirming he was here for Miku, but also for Haruuhi as well.
The blue haired Hawaiian boy then politely said how he was sure Miku will do great,he believes in her and that he will cheer her on. G pats him on the head "Oh, arent you the sweet and adorable one. Ah, I'l be sure to relay her that message and tell her. I hope she will have a better draw for the tournament this year. Last one was quite concerning. But I do plan to find some UA staff to talk about the organization. I dont want any possibility of maiming" G said as he remembered seeing that travesty on TV. This time if anyone tries to harm his girls, he will jump in the arena himself if he must. Hmm, maybe he should take his vigi outfit to always be in costume. Like Superman.
The two hawaiians then move on with the conversation about eachother. How were they. Sean asked how was G since time passed, but G waved it off "A lot of stuff happened. Far too much stuff to recollect. I'll just give you the tldr and say I got married since we last saw eachother. I finally have a real family now. I also took a lil hiatus from work so now Im here" G said
"Anywho, what about you young one. Hows it been?" G asked back the boy

Ah, that's right! Miku had a sister, didn't she? Sean had not met Haruuhi yet, which was why he had not mentioned her. The only time he had heard of the girl was when she got kidnapped by those villains so long ago. Jeez, that was a bummer! It was a shame he had not met Haruuhi while he still went to UA, but oh well. Maybe they could meet someday. Or maybe not. Who knew? "Sweet! I'll cheer her on as well!" Because a friend (or sibling in this case) of Sean's friend was his friend as well. At least that's how the boy saw it.
Sean nodded. He hoped for the same thing G did. Miku deserved to have a good opponent that would give her an awesome and fair fight. Hopefully this year's tourney would go much better for the girl. Well in any case, Sean was determined to make his cheering for Miku among the loudest in the crowd. "Yeah. Here's hoping that this year is much safer in that regard." The boy still could not believe what had happened. To say he was bummed out by a former classmate of his doing something like that to Miku was truly an understatement. But naturally no one could be more upset and angry at that than her own dad, and rightfully so.
The boy smiled upon hearing G's words. Though a lot had happened, it seemed from the sound of it that most of it was good stuff. "Hey, congratulations! That's awesome, dude!" It was good that G got himself a wife. Wait, that meant that Miku and Haruuhi had a stepmom now. He wondered what that was like, for the girl to have a mother figure now. He was happy for the family, glad that such a wonderful thing had happened.
But then his mind began wandering somewhere, something involving marriage and Rowan. Sean had to stop himself quickly before he began to blush and G noticed and asked about that. That would just be embarrassing! Don't think about that... Not now...
With that, the boy almost missed G's question. But thankfully, he answered quickly enough that the short pause would be difficult to notice. "Er, I've been alright. Some nice things have happened, and a couple of not so nice things." The boy sighed. Did he really want to recount the story again? It was painful to think about, even after the time that had passed since then. Still, he did not mind too much. Plus, it was best to be honest to avoid any misconceptions.
"I'll just give you a tl;dr as well. Long story short, I saved a little girl from getting hit by a truck a couple of months back, a car hit me afterwards, and I spent about half the year in a coma. Got out of it a few months ago just before my mom's birthday, but then learned that the accident wrecked my head hard enough to the point where I effectively have no quirk now. So much for training to become a hero. And so much for our rematch." Well it was fun to fight G's isopod summon with a water doppelganger of said summon. Good times.
But then Sean grinned cheerfully, not being one to enjoy staying gloomy for long. "But it's not all bad. At least I'm still around. And even if I can't become a hero, I'm still working hard to help people in a different way. Oh, and one of my..." Sean then paused. How to explain Rowan to G? Calling her a friend was obviously incorrect, as she was so much more than that. But confessing that he really liked a girl was something Sean was unsure he wanted to do in front of G. "Er... someone from my school, well former school now, actually let me come along and stay at her family's hotel. So now I can root for UA here rather than just on TV at home."
With that, Sean stopped. He hoped that he didn't talk too much. But still, with all that happened, it was difficult to summarize everything that had happened in only one or two sentences. "And that's basically the gist of it."

G listened to Sean recount his story, and boy was it a horrible one. G was at a loss of words on how to react and before he knew it, Sean switched the subject and talked about someone from UA who let him stay at their hotel. G knew that certain someone was most likely Rowan, due to personal reasons, but still there's a lot to address
"Ok ok. There's a lot to unpack here. So lets start with the less nice subject. It really sucks what happened. Sorry to hear that. Now I know the next part might give you a false sense of hope since its a stretch but. I do have a cousin in Hawaii who studies quirks. His own quirk is coincidentally the same as yours. Or was same as yours. If you ever wanna try and getting your quirk back, I can hook you up with him" G said
Now he moved on the better subject "As for the other thing which is more pleasant to hear. Its nice you are here. Im gonna hazard a guess and say it was Rowan Sakamoto who invited you to stay at her hotel. Im not sure if I said her name, but ye. She's a nice gal. Were you classmates or something?" he asked

Yeah, there really was no better way to say it. It definitely sucked to be stuck in a coma for over six months and then find out afterwards that all of his dreams of being a hero someday was cut short. It was honestly heartbreaking. But Sean had made peace with what had happened to him. He did not want to sink into despair. No, it was best to cling to hope and see the bright side of things.
Honestly, with how Rowan and I are now, I'm almost confident in saying that it's a fair trade. My quirk for Rowan. For someone like her, I'd gladly give up my quirk hundreds of times over.
Speaking of hope and quirks, Sean's eyes widened when he heard G speak about a friend of his in Hawaii. Dang! It was a long time since the boy had thought of his original home. He was still unsure if he wanted to go back there. On one hand, it would be nice to revisit the place of his birth, not to mention the warm climate and the awesome beaches he could ride some waves in. But on the other hand, going back there meant risking seeing that man again. That was definitely not a good memory, especially now that Sean could not drive away that man in the same way as he could when he was only six years old.
But back to G, Sean smiled upon hearing the man's offer. "That would be awesome! For real, if there was any way to get my quirk back, then I'd definitely give your friend a call." The boy's smile then shrank several sizes. He did not forget the doctor's words, how the damage to that organ that controlled how his quirk had functioned was alarmingly extensive, how simply attempting to repair it had a high chance of killing the boy, all without the guarantee that his quirk would function again even if he could survive the operation. "Though I've already made peace with the fact that I may never be able to bend water again. It's fine either way."
Still, it wasn't all bad. Sean was never a fan of his quirk gradually lowering his body temperature. He was glad if he never had to shiver like that ever again. He much preferred Rowan and her heat over the cold of his own quirk.
But speaking of Rowan, G had no trouble guessing that she was the one Sean was referring to. The boy was never exactly subtle. "Y-yeah, you got it right." The boy really needed to resist the urge to blush just thinking about her. "Yeah, we were in the same class. She's really nice. Of all the people I met in UA, she's among the top when it comes to awesome. Her dad was actually the one who gave my mom a free week at a hotel and spa after she spent all those months worrying herself to exhaustion about me. So there's no way I can't be super grateful to them for everything they've done for me and my mom."
Sean was definitely excited to cheer on Rowan once it was time for her to fight in the tournament. But of course, he was also looking forward to cheering on Miku in her fight as well. But then a horrible thought came to Sean. What if they had to fight each other? Who would he cheer for then? The boy tried not to think about that. Eh, it'll probably never happen. What are the odds?
Ah, but of course Sean did not just want to talk about himself. He wanted to hear more about what G had done. "But speaking of Hawaii, have you had the chance to go back there yet? It would be pretty neat to see the place after a long time." Sean then thought of a neat idea. "Hey, if you ever do go back to Hawaii, you could bring your family with you! I bet it would be tons of fun!" Sean knew that despite that man, Hawaii was a pretty nice place. It would be great to go back someday. But if the boy could not, he hoped that at least G could go back someday. Plus, it would be a treat for Miku, Haruuhi, and G's wife to relax in the nice beaches and tropical atmosphere.
