Since the death of her father, she had tried to continue. She had tried to lie to herself and not be honest to others. She had avoided her friends to talk about it, especially Tony. The other pro-hero had found her when she had been weak when she had lost. When she had lost the one person she cared about the most. Now she was a liar. She muttered to herself, cultural festival. Saying goodbye to her boyfriend who still did not know her real identity was her own mistake. The words had not been able to cross her lips and she was getting mad at herself. Now the preparations of the Sports Festival had come to an end and it was there and she could not talk to Momo, she could not talk to Giovanni or G and Hanako as everyone had left for England. Why wasn't she in England? Because she was the school nurse and that meant that she had to take care of the injuries here in case something happened and she was worried about it, as was her job and so on. She simply walked around and checked, a sort of patrol, remembering she had bumped into Junko doing that last year. Huh, what a difference a year could make.
She looked up from her thoughts, right everything seemed to be fine here, she nodded to some of the other teachers that were here until she noticed the brilliant hair this man had and she quickly turned her heel. If she was quick, Tony would not see her and would not come after her to ask her how she was doing. Yes, she had managed to avoid him for three months now and she was going to continue to do that until she had a solid answer on what her plans were. Up til now her decision had been to stay a pro-hero but Nimue still was in the research matters of M.A.R.I.N.E. another secret she could not tell anyone and she wished she could. Maybe sometimes you had to break the rules, but she was unsure about that. It was fine, she would survive. She quickly looked over her shoulder before rounding the corner around the building, trying to avoid Wildheart, would that work? Nimue had no idea where to start, did she still have to thank him or what? Really what do you do in that sort of situation?

The Sports Festival was something that interested Tony. He wanted to see what the next generation of heroes could do. He was hoping that the students of UA were strong. Not just physically, either. Powerful, creative, intelligent, hard-working. He wanted the ones who would someday succeed him and the other current pro-heroes to be the best they could be. They were eventually going to become the stars, the beacons of hope, the symbols of peace, the protectors of the people, the ones who would stand against villainy, the ones everyone would look towards in their time of need. Tony wanted to see just how well UA was teaching these heroes-in-training.
Wanting to do anything he could to help, Tony agreed to come to the school to help patrol there. He seriously hoped that he would not be needed here, but who knows what could happen. Several of the school's staff were heading off overseas to escort the students that were going. Though non-teacher pros were invited to come along, Tony decided it was best he stayed here. There was the chance that some criminals might notice the fewer pros around campus and try something despicable. Security was no doubt heightened, but it did not hurt to be absolutely sure. In the event that any villain was dumb enough to try anything, Tony was ready to summon Centaurion and 'calmly' escort the would-be troublemaker off the school grounds and into the nearest jail. But hopefully, that would not be necessary, and the beast would be able to just completely sit this one out.
So far, there was nothing of note. Everything was quiet and peaceful. Nothing out of the ordinary. Hopefully, the whole day would be like this. Peaceful and disturbance-free. But Tony knew when not to be lax. He needed to remain vigilant. There was always the chance of something happening, after all.
But then Tony noticed her. He barely had time to see, but he knew who it was. "Nimue?" But even though he called out to her, she seemed to be avoiding him. Normally, Tony would pay this no mind. But after their last meeting, after seeing the poor lady's dead father, Tony could not help but worry about her. Was she alright? How was she holding up? But it had been three months since he had last heard from her.
"Señorita, wait!" Tony just could not help it. He had to go after Nimue. Tony was not running, but he was walking quickly to try and not lose her. He needed to know if she was okay. It was fine if she wanted to be left alone. He would be willing to do so and leave her be. But after their last meeting, Tony just had to know if Nimue was alright. He couldn't just leave her alone without finding out. Why was she avoiding him? And for so long? They were friends, right? So why did she not want to see him?

She knew it, she knew that he had seen here. It was hard to miss when he called out to her and she was maybe even more embarrassed by her instinct going to flight instead of fighting for their friendship or her awkwardness, it wasn't fair. The positive for Tony was that he was so much taller than Nimue that even if he was not running, his long strides kept up with her quick pace rather easily and she had to stop as she wanted to enter the building, which meant that Tony quickly got up with her and she turned around. Her face was obviously red because she knew what she was doing. She had tried so much to avoid him at this point it wasn't fair. It also wasn't his fault and she wasn't sure if she should continue that lie that she had not seen him or so or if she better could be honest to him. But why was she avoiding him? Because she did not want to talk about it? Was that it? She wasn't even sure, that might be it, she did not want to burden people with her troubles, they had probably enough themselves and thus she was a bit lost for words now that the tall man was in front of her.
Huh, she did not miss that some people were not that tall. Giovanni had a definite better size compared to hers. Right, no time to think about that. "Tony, ehm, sorry about that." Right, that was the best she could do, she could now say she needed to quickly go to the infirmary but that was a lie and he knew it, so she decided not to say something about it and just looked at her feet. Should she invite him along to the infirmary, more so they wouldn't have to talk in the open where everyone could hear it. She wasn't sure if the management had said anything, Momo had said they would not tell the students about the death of her father, it was her task and her decision to do so, and at this point, she appreciated that but she was also lost. Tony obviously knew better, he had seen her. She wasn't sure how to continue from this, but yes, it was better to go inside. "I have to get something from the infirmary, want to walk along?" How stupid was that, lying and yet trying to cover it up.

Tony was definitely worried. Why was Nimue acting like this? Did he do something wrong? Was Nimue avoiding him specifically, or was it everyone, or at least a group of people that included him? Just what was going on with her? Was she alright?
"Ah, please don't worry about that." Well one thing was obvious. Questioning Nimue and demanding an explanation from her was not a very productive or wise way of getting answers. He did not want her to feel like she messed up. He wanted her to feel like he was there for her, that she could open up to him and confide in him. He wanted to help Nimue, but he could not do much if she was not willing to ask for it. And driving her away was the last thing Tony wanted.
Nimue apparently had something she needed to get from the infirmary, and asked Tony if he wanted to come along. Of course he was not going to say no. "Sure thing." He let the heroine lead the way, and walked beside her. There were so many things Tony wanted to ask Nimue, but he would hold back for now. He did not want to risk asking something that could upset her.
"I imagine you'll be more busy than ever with the festival and tournament." With how many students the school had, all with their various unique quirks, it was a given that Nimue would have her work cut out for her regarding treating the injured. "Surely the school plans to let you have some sort of break, right?" The thought of not letting the poor nurse get at least a bit of a break after this festival seemed absurd to Tony. Surely the school would not be unreasonable, right?
"So how have you been doing recently? Is everything alright?" Hopefully everything was well for the heroine. It was just that Tony could not help but be concerned after seeing her grieve for her papá. The poor man. At least the villain that had murdered him was now locked up. But Tony was curious how Nimue would answer. Would she be honest with him? Would she not want to bring up what happened?

She apologized but she wasn't sure if she outright meant it. She could just not avoid him, she knew that but it was darn difficult to talk about it. He had seen her vulnerable, she expected him to ask her all the questions about what happened after, what she did now and how she felt. But she did not want that, not now. Not when she felt like she was doing okay, that she was sort of stable. She said she needed something from the infirmary but what? There was enough she could take from there and show interest and be something she needed but she was just lying to her friend and the worst thing was, it would just add up to a bunch of lies she had been telling and doing and that made it just the worst thing in the world. She did not want to lie to the people she cared about or loved. She tried to keep steady breathing and just walk inside the building, get to the stairs and up to the first floor. She simply listened to Tony as he spoke to her and she gritted her teeth. She would not get a break because she basically just returned. "It's fine, I think I will manage, it is important that I am around if the kids need to talk to someone or feel an ache or something. I will be here, besides I just came back from a sabbatical, I can't stay away anymore." Though the school understood, that did not mean that she should take all the other breaks she could get. Maybe if they offered but she would not ask her own days off. She shortly looked up at Tony, here she admitted she did something after Shinagawa. A two and a half month break was enough, it wasn't going to take the grief away but it was going to keep her focused. Especially if in that period it had been the hardest, her birthday and Christmas had been easily survived but not thanks to her own.
She was not sure what to answer to Tony's question. She could say she was alright, everything was for as far as she could handle it. So, why did it make her feel like she was lying again? "I just live by the day basically." but she was doing good, truly, yes it still stung and everything but the murderer of her father was in prison and hopefully would not get out as anyone else did.

Well that was certainly good to hear. Tony nodded as he listened to Nimue. "That's good. Just as long as you get your time to relax. I doubt you don't get your hands full often with all these kids learning to control and refine their quirks. Accidents and all that. I can't begin to imagine how the troublesome students must be like for you." From the sound of things, it seems as though despite what had happened, she was doing okay now. Either that or she was an exceptional liar. There was no real easy way to tell which was the case, unfortunately. But Tony did not wish to press the matter any more than necessary. This was a chat with a fellow hero and a friend, not an interrogation after all.
"Understandable. Still, at least everything seems fine. I was worried, considering... you know what, never mind." Yeah, best not to bring that up and potentially open up any mental wounds. Tony was unsure whether Nimue had made peace with the death of her papá, or if she was still mourning. But either way, Tony knew not to be an insensitive prick and bring up something that could potentially upset Nimue. If she did not mind talking about it, then of course Tony would not mind listening to her if she wanted. But in case it was still a touchy subject, then perhaps it was best to change the subject.
"If you don't mind me asking, just what is it you need to get from the infirmary? Perhaps I can help find it faster if I know what to look for?" Was she really alright? Was she hiding something? Tony just wanted Nimue to be okay, to know whether she really was too busy for that long or if she was intentionally avoiding him. Who can say? But as long as he was here, he would do whatever he could to help Nimue, even if it was something mundane like grabbing something from the infirmary.

Maybe they were troublesome, especially because Nimue did not share with all of them what happened and thus it was a bit of a strange thing. Moments that she wanted to grief and yet stay strong because she did not want issues with her students. "Maybe, but I did miss them in the months that I was away." Heck she had even felt guilty towards Haruto considering how busy it had made him and the information that Hatsumomo had given her. She wondered if her friend was doing fine in England. "I know, it's kind of you to think about me. But I don't want to waste your time." She brushed a bit of hair behind her ear and did for a second not dare to look at Tony. It was just that a lot of things still felt unreal and by not seeing him, the man who helped her that night it was like trying to convince herself maybe, ever so slightly, that it did not happen. But it did. She looked away and she gave a small smile, "Sometimes I just imagine I call him to tell about what happened. I used to do that when I didn't know where he was but now I still do." It was just a nice thought, he was still gone but she was in a way also adapted to it. It had just been her birthday and Christmas that made it a little more difficult that she wanted to admit and in two months it was his birthday but it would be fine. She would get over it, and again, and again and most of all, something that Tony proved now as well, she wasn't alone.
"I am sorry." She said when he asked about what she was looking for. She should say she forgot, got distracted by their talking, but that would not be fair. She already hated how much she lied to Giovanni. "I lied." She had wanted to get away from him and try this but instead she had invited him to come along. "Let me make it up to you, let me thank you. Once this all is over, let's go out to a bar or something. I could use some fun after hours and well we can talk?" That was the only thing she could come up with and she meant it, she gave him a shy smile. "I mean it, I will not cancel, I promise."

It was sweet to hear that Nimue missed the students in the time she was gone. Was that how it felt like to be a member of UA's staff? Or was Nimue just that kind and caring of a person? It was probably both if Tony had to take a guess. He was curious about how it was like to educate the students and watch them all progress to new heights. Perhaps he could inquire about it sometime? It definitely sounded fascinating.
"What? No, it's not a waste of my time, señorita. It can never be. Worrying about a friend is never a waste. So please don't worry about that." It was true. Nimue could be described as many things, but to Tony, none of the words he would use could ever be negative, especially something like 'a waste of time'. That was simply terrible! Who could ever think negatively about the heroine? Oracle? Crowley? Lady Lavande? Who cared what villain scum like them thought! Tony refused to ever hear anyone insult Nimue and let them get away with it. Not even if it was Nimue herself!
Her poor papá. He did not deserve such a cruel fate. Surely he was up in heaven, still listening to Nimue and watching over her. Tony had no idea just what he could say to Nimue. He did not want to accidentally come off as insensitive. Perhaps it was best to remain silent here. Still, at least Nimue was not alone. Even with her papá gone, he was never truly gone. His memory still lived on in the heroine. And she had people who cared about her. And of course, Tony was among those people. So regardless of what those terrible villains tried to do to Nimue, people had her back. She had friends. She was not alone.
Tony nodded. I thought so. Naturally, he would not say this aloud, as saying something like that would probably make Nimue feel worse. Obviously, Tony was aiming to avoid that. "Don't worry about it. I understand. I can't blame you, after what happened." Yeah, who could, after what the poor lady's been through? Tony then listened to Nimue's next words, returning her smile with his own. "That sounds muy bien. I look forward to it!" Yeah, she deserved to relax and have a fun time, and Tony would gladly help with that in any way he could. The heroine did not deserve to be unhappy. It was those villains who tried to mess with her that deserved to me miserable. And he and Centaurion were more than happy to show these criminals why messing with a pro hero was a foolish idea.
"I just hope Centaurion doesn't cause trouble like that other time. No ordering meatballs at an Italian restaurant!" He chuckled. Sure, it was painfully embarrassing at the moment, but Tony was not one to be bothered by those things. As long as his friends were happy, he was more than happy to make himself look like an idiota.

Oh right, they had gone to the restaurant and that waiter... she grinned a little. That waiter was now the one she dated, no idea at that point that he was the owner. "Maybe we could convince the owner to put meatballs on the menu, else I will ask him to make it for you. We are rather close right now." She said with a smile, but yes thinking about that moment was great. It made her smile because it had been funny but apart from that it was just something that was nice. She did like hanging out with Tony and she would see what would come from it. She would think of where to go, maybe a bar, maybe a club, anything she wanted to forget and just focus on having fun. Yes, there were moments she forgot and watching romantic movies all the time on the couch was a little bad as well. Though she really enjoyed those times with Giovanni. She should probably tell him that she was going out with a colleague, just for fun. She did not want any jealous stuff to happen, but for some reason, she assumed Giovanni wasn't like that. Maybe a bad idea but better be honest than he found out and got jealous?
God, she had so much to tell him already and she kept pushing it off, that was stupid. She should not think about it too much and she shortly touched the beads of the rosary that she wore, he was in England but he would soon return and she should have her answer ready to tell him. But this would be all fine, he would understand, she was sure. It was all going to be fine. She tried to smile again to Tony and looked around in the infirmary, now that she was here, she could pick up something for sure and went to grab some stuff to make a small first aid kit.
