As Haruuhi and the rest of the U.a students arrived at their respective hotels and rooms, the girl immediately started to set up her little shop. She had managed to take a few tools and accessories with her on the plane ride over so that she could keep working on the support items that she needed to finish up. She had made about a dozen of the translation sticks already, as well as the goggles that Feng had requested of her. Upgrades and all.
"Hey everyone. Those of you that need a translator stick should come by room 501. @feng , I've got the support item you requested! If anyone else needs any support tech, let support studies know ASAP! I brought a few tools along with me so we will do the best we can with what we've got! Let's win this thing!" Haruuhi sent out via text to the U.A chatroom, hoping to get everyone the proper gear they needed ahead of the tournament. The translator stick was small and very simple to use. It was programmed solely for English to Japanese and vice versa, and inside it there was a small radiowave transmitter so that Haruuhi could always tell where the sticks (and therefore her classmates) were, just as a security precaution.
Feng's goggles did have hair pieces installed on the back with the same tech as the translation stick. They wouldn't need one themselves as those hair pieces would do the same work for her, and play the sound closer to her ear. It was also equipped with the same tiny transmitter that would allow Haruuhi to find her if she ever had to.
"I hope everyone takes advantage of these... I just wish I had more requests to build stuff." She murmured to robodog, petting his head gently and smiling brightly. This year was going to be vastly different... this year she was ready to do this...

Haruuhi pulled through with her request for Tech. The plane ride took its toll but Feng was used to as they made their way to the hostel. Feng would stretch a bit before heading over the mechanics place to receive the gadget she requested. It was something she needed for a while considering most of her quirk is going high into the air. Eye protection is prolly the best way to avoid getting blinded and having built in ear pieces helps with communications
A part of her did take a few influences from Red and Yumi as they had those goggles as well. So might as well add to the numbers and look stylish as well as a result of getting the gadgets. It also matched her gear so it wouldn't stand out too much so it was an all around gimme when it came to getting the stuff.
The message would go out and Feng would wash her face and head to Harruhi’s room.” I hope it wasn't too much of an issue with getting this thing made… I can’t lose this now”, she would say to herself as she search for her room number. Counting down the various numbers on the floor she would get closer and closer until she would find it. After a few seconds of nervously waiting she would go up and knock on room 501.
She would enter the room to see Haruuhi with her robot dog waiting.”Sorry to keep ya waiting! Is this it?”, Feng said as she would go over to pick up the goggles. She would take her time to inspect it and see how it felt before promptly putting it on and getting a feel for it. It took a moment to adjust but they were perfect in all regards. Though durability will be put to the test later as she needed to use them for the festival. But there were so many other things to do that would make her head spin that the worries would soon wash away with the rest of her brain as she wanted to see the town and see various places.

With his English only really limited to some things that he had heard from shows and games, when Tsuji caught wind of Haruuhi making these so-called 'Translator Sticks', he went over to try and grab one before all of them were fresh out. Jet-lagged a little by the flight, the slightly drowsy and fatigued bear waddled over across to the Hostel where she was. Despite what he'd heard on the flight there, it was relatively dry in York, but still quite grey up in the sky. This place wasn't home, but that just made it more exciting.
After asking for where she was, he found Haruuhi's little set-up shop, and greeted her. “Hello! Uh, do you still have any of those Translator things, Haruuhi? I could do with one, if that's ok.” The little stall had lots of different tech laid out, it looked like a workshop almost. Close by was even a robot dog, who seemed very nice, but Tsuji saw it safe to not pet him until he was given clearance. At the stall also was Feng, which made sense, Haruuhi had made something specifically for her, after all. “Yo, Feng, how are you? Are you settling in?” he said, yawning a bit. The flight had taken a lot out of him, plus it didn't help that it was still winter. Nevertheless, getting this would be important for training, full combat, and some nice talks with the other students.

When she heard the knock, Haruuhi walked up to the door, opening it for Feng, then propping it open so that any of the students that came by could just come in or out. She gave the girl a bright smile as she let her in and watched as she went straight for the goggles in question.
"You didn't keep me waiting at all. I would of found you before the start of the event anyways. And ya, that's it! I had a bit of extra supplies so I was really able to pack them full of stuff. So the lenses themselves adjust to the light around you. The brighter it is, the darker the lenses will get. That'll prevent you from having to need sunglasses or whatever if you're ever moving towards the sun. Second, I was able to program the piece on the right with the translator I build for everyone. It has more space though so it'll translate Mandarin, German and English to Japanese and vice versa. As for the left piece, I installed a bluetooth communicator and a speaker. Since it's not directly on your ear, everyone will be able to hear whats being said though, so I made the volume relatively quiet so they have to me pretty close to hear it. You activate it by pressing the button on the bottom of the piece, and it'll connect to your phone." She began explaining all of the goodies she had put into what looked like pretty simple goggles. She was pretty proud of herself, and you could really tell by the way she described as many aspects of the goggles as she could.
"Still, it's not the most durable item, so try to avoid getting hit in the face." She warned her as the materials she had used were pretty light weight so that it wouldn't be too cumbersome on Feng herself. That's when her next 'customer' came in. It was Tsuji, the familiar sight of the bear man made her smile widen even more as she immediately answered him when he came in.
"Yep! Got them all right here! Here you go." Haruuhi walked over to her makeshift counter, took up one of the translator devices and brought it over to Tsuji.
"It's pretty easy to use. One click translates to English, two clicks translates to Mandarin, and three clicks translates to German. It'll change the settings so that if they speak into it too, it'll auto translate to Japanese." She explained simply, following his gaze towards Robodog then making a quick motion with her head. The dog would suddenly stand up to all fours, stretching out it's front paws and gingerly walking over to Haruuhi's side, sitting down once more and looking up to her as if asking her why he had been called over.
"He's really tame by the way, if you wanted to pet him. He might not be fluffy but he's the perfect companion." She assured Tsuji as she herself pet the metallic creature contently.

Feng would mess around with the gadget that Haruuhi built. She would listen intently as she would fidget as she would try it on and adjust it to feel more comfortable to wear. Adjusting volume, testing the translator using her own voice, connecting her phone and playing some music through it for a moment.’Holy shit, she thought of everything for this and god damn do these look good’. She was testing every feature to see how it worked and is always surprised with the result. It was akin to a kid getting a new toy as she would think of the various ways this can come in handy. She would walk to a nearby mirror and absent minded strike a few poses while wearing it to indicate that she loves it. Everything about it was perfect and she was almost dead set on taking it with her. Though she is hesitant to take it with her to the tournament as she would hear that it is quite fragile.
“Luckily for you, thats my specialty”, she would say as she proudly puffed up her chest.
She had nothing to worry about since she made it priority to not get hit in the face as she would remember all the training and incidents that have gone on that she escaped with only some injuries. A good track record aside from a few exceptions that she prefer not to explain.
It was when Tsuji walked in that she snapped out of it and replied to him in her normal tone of voice. “Yep! I’m still feeling a bit lagged but this city is nice. I think I may try and visit a few shops and see what sweets they have”, she would reply as she stretched her arms a bit. “Though I’m mostly nervous about the tournament...is anyone else feeling that?”, she would ask as she would look at the mirror with the goggles on.

As she handed Tsuji one of her home-made miracle machines, Haruuhi’s explanation of how the translator worked was pretty simple, about as simple as you could get for a piece of tech that changed sound patterns as they came out. “Thanks, lemme just have a quick go…” he said, clearing his throat. He set the translator to English, and spoke into it: “Can you tell me how to get to the station?” And, sure enough, the voice came out with the translation, in a robotic sort of voice, sure, but a translation nonetheless. “Wow, this is great, you’re a real wiz at this, Haruuhi!” said Tsuji, giving a thumbs up and cracking a beaming smile. The device was very light, too, not something to lug around, so he placed it in his jacket pocket. Even better than the device however, was that he was allowed to pet the mechanical dog, and placed his soft paw onto the little guy’s head. “You know, I saw a robotic dog on the flight here, in a TV show, but he was a little more blocky than this good boy right here, aren’t you? Yeah, you’re a really good boy…” he said, getting a little distracted again. But it wasn’t every day you got to pet a metal animal.
Getting up from the dog, Tsuji turned over to Feng, checking out her new goggles. They looked pretty simple, like the ones he had, but if Haruuhi had made them, there was almost certainly cool stuff hidden inside. “Oh, you’re gonna go check the shops out? I heard there’s a bunch near the hostel, lots of them, stacked next to each other, there’s almost no room to walk!” he said, still eyeing up the goggles. Hearing Feng talk about the tournament, she had every right to be nervous - last year, she got hurt pretty bad in her fight, as Tsuji had rewatched a bunch of the battles in preparation. He’d also lost his bout, but he was fairly confident this time around. “I’d be lying if I wasn’t weirded out being here and competing, but it’s the principle that counts, right? We came here to show the world what we can do, so we’ll do our best!” he said. “Doesn’t matter the language, the country, or the time: we’ll crash through and head to tomorrow!”

Haruuhi couldn’t help but chuckle whenever Feng mentioned her specialty being not getting hit in the face. She liked that philosophy honestly, not like anyone wanted to get hit to begin with! She just couldn’t help but smile as her attention turned back to Tsuji who was now trying out the translator. She took the time to respond to Feng first.
“I’m still feeling a bit jet lagged too. Honestly I really wish I could sleep right now but I”ve been way too hyped up” She admitted before turning to face Tsuji once more who complimented her work. It made Haruuhi blush as she rubbed the back of her neck shyly, suddenly wishing to retreat and hide under a blanket now that she was getting so much praise.
“T...Thanks Tsuji” She started but he kept on going, petting Robodog and commenting on how he’d seen a more blocky version on TV. Robodog leaned into the hand that was petting him, his eyes closing out of satisfaction as his metallic tongue hung out the side of his mouth. His thin tail swishing back and forth, knocking against the table quite audibly as he was called a good boy. Unable to help the bark that escaped his throat.
Haruuhi seemed to snap out of her sudden shyness at the sound of the bark. Her blush died down and she took in a deep breath to steel herself. She had to stop being like this… she told herself she’d toughen up, and if talking to her classmates was hard, then she’d never have the guts to be a real hero. She could do this.
“I love sweets. Y...you know I’d love to go explore the town with you if you’d let me. I’m sure it would be more fun to explore with people you know anyways right? We could try to find a little cafe and gorge on some sweet cakes and tea!” She suggested, trying to push her shyness aside. That shyness however was replaced with the same uncertainty that Feng obviously felt about the tournament when she asked.
“Im glad I’m not the only one… this is my first tournament… I didn’t participate last year so I'm honestly horrified. Knowing my luck, they’re going to put me up against Tetsuko-senpai first thing. I wouldn’t want to get knocked out in my first round and at least have a bit of time to shine ya know.” She said, laughing off the fact that she might be paired with UA’s number one student. What were the odds of that happening anyways? Nah. She’d more likely end up against someone like Yojin or maybe even Rowan.

“Sure I’m game, I need something to take off the edge...Sweets and the like always work. Just gotta figure out where to start...”, Feng replied to Tsuji and Harruhi as she adjusted the goggles and played with em for a bit. First connecting to her phone to play some music, next was to tune onto the radio and see how much it can get, and last would be if it can be adjusted. She heard of Haruuhi’s reputation with gadgets and was not a bit disappointed with the results. Though in all honesty she was trying to distract herself from the reality that she may or may not be the first round clown again for the tourney. Visiting the places that serve the best sweets provides the best way to pass the time. But hearing Haruuhi air out her concerns about the tourney, she will respond in turn in her own way.
“Look knowing my luck, I’m going to get my ass royally kicked again...which is sad coming from me… So don’t get too worked up about it alright?”, she gave an assuring thumbs up as she wore the googles, her eyes shining through the lens. In her mind, she should follow her own advice as she was absolutely worried about her first match up. A sparring session against Yumi was more than enough to hammer home how outmatched she is. She is a dear friend and someone she is fine with fighting but her luck remains to be her bane. First Risaka and now Yumi, lady luck is not a fan of her at all. But the more she thought about this, the more downtrot she would get so she would shake her mind and get back on topic.
“Point is, You’ll do fine.”

Haruuhi's feelings about the festival weren't uncommon, a lot of people, as far as Tsuji was aware, had similar expressions about the gathering of students, especially when in regards to the tournament. It was a little harrowing, being in front of so many people to fight your fellow classmates, but it was in the spirit of good sportsmanship, and being in England furthered the reach that U.A would have across the pond! It was great publicity, giving students the push forward to reach the best heights they could, be scouted by the pro heroes, and learn from previous errors. It was all for the sake of progress, and Tsuji was ready to face it, not just for him, for the good of the world. It might've been a bit grandiose, but heroism wasn't something he took lightly. “Listen Haruuhi, you'll be fine! The tournament is gonna be greater than last years, trust me!” he said, attempting to give courage to the shy girl.
Feng's take on the tournament, however, was a little different, rather pessimistic, even. Sure, she'd had her bad bout with Risaka the year before, but that should mean all the difference here, right? “Oh come on, Feng, don't be down! Just cause you lost last year doesn't mean you're gonna lose again, it should mean you bounce right back! Besides, there's a losers bracket, so even if you do falter, it won't be for long! I know you can do it!” said Tsuji. Encouragement for his friends was a speciality of his, and well worth the trouble. “Both of you are strong, I know you can win. In fact: let's make a pact, right now: we'll all win for sure, no ifs, ands, or buts!” he continued, placing his paw in the middle of both girls. “What do you say?”

“Let me see if there’s anything nearby” Haruuhi said with a smile as Feng agreed to go to a cafe together. This was great! She never really got to hang out with Feng much, so maybe she could find more about her and maybe start making some new friends with the other students in her year! She had to admit that she did miss being in the Hero course, being here at the festival… this would give her another perspective into another student.
That being said, she forced up a larger smile as Feng tried to reassure her that she would do fine. She nodded, even going as far as flexing her arm comically to show a false sense of security in herself.
“Right, I will be… yeah for sure. I mean, I’m the only student who’s been in both the Hero and support course right? I’ll be a real force to be reckoned with! And I bet you’ll do great too Feng! Tsuji is right, just because last year didn’t go so well doesn’t mean this year wont go great! We’ve all trained a lot and come a long way from l ast year, so let’s just do our best!” She cheered the three of them on, walking out from behind her little counter and taking her room key, stuffing it into one of the pouches around her waist.
“There’s a little cafe just down the block on Queen St. Come on!”
