"Crikey!"The thickly-accented exclamation would draw the attention of those around the man, as if he wasn't standing out enough already. Standing at almost 7-feet tall, and looking more like a kangaroo than man, he'd earned plenty of awed stares as he made his way through the festival grounds. This rugged man, still wearing the bandages from his last fight, didn't even look like much of a Hero in this state. Having foregone his usual Hero outfit for a comfortable ACDC shirt, and grinning giddily as he chowed down on a Japanese festival food staple, he looked more like an out-of-place tourist than Australia's #1 Pro Hero! "This stuff's a ripper! What was it again? Taco-yacky? Oi, Topsy, you tried some yet?""Takoyaki. Yeah, I had some already. You really are like a kid, sometimes, you know?" Notable also was the woman next to him. While the kangaroo, even with his animal features, looked to be middle-aged at least, the smaller figure beside him looked to be in her early twenties at most. She'd actually bothered to put on her costume, marking her as a professional Hero, but her youth made it hard to pick her out as New Zealand's own #1. "Oi, be nicer to yer elders. You bloody bet I'm actin like a kid, if that means makin' the most of this free trip. We can't let the kids be the only ones havin' fun!" The Australian man would declare heartily, with a disapproving shake of his takoyaki skewer at the other woman. With an amused grin, Topsy chuckled and rolled here eyes, before glancing around the area. It was pretty damn busy for a Sports Festival, to say the least. It was nothing like the simple sports days she remembered from school... There were a few big names walking around, too. Both Topsy and Hopper had made sure to familiarize themselves with the local heavy hitters, though they didn't know if they'd receive the same courtesy. Some in the crowd might spot the top Heroes of Australia and New Zealand, but chances are many didn't know who they were. After all, in the much larger nation of Japan, they were hardly popular... Yet, they still stood out, thanks to the efforts of a certain kangaroo. "Bloody hell! Is that the Japs' #1, over there? I'd heard she was a yank, but I didn't believe it!" Hopper would suddenly exclaim, not paying much attention to his volume. Sure enough, Topsy followed his eyeline, and saw the oni herself... It even seemed like they'd spotted each other. Well, this was an interesting encounter.

“Nnnngh…” Groaning as she rolled back her shoulder, Mia had just come off a shift when the sports festival had caught her attention. As much as she might love to go home and fall back into her couch, let it catch her weight and just… sink into those cushions, she had an obligation, but to herself and the kids to get a good view of the work they were putting in here, both from the more ‘festival’y aspects of what was going on and the eventual showdowns there were gonna be, both between students themselves and those of other schools. It was gonna be a hell of a show no matter which way ya cut it and Mia was more than eager to see what each country’s kids could pull off.
No matter what she’d been through today, a villain take down, half a building trying to rest itself on her shoulders… she was still gonna be here making sure she kept a strong eye on these kids as they showed off what they had. Heck, she coulda taken a fuckin’ bullet to the skull and she’d still be here if she could be left standing. She really wanted to go with the kids to England too but… with her patrol route she could never have justified the time off to herself.
Still, as brief as it was, this WAS time off and she was gonna enjoy it as much as she could, looking to see if she could get a snack or something before going off to meet any of the kids training to see if she could get a preview of the big show… when something fairly unique caught her eye. Two faces she very vaguely recognized from the few times she checked the news and it brought in some foreign news. She took a second trying to catch who they could be in the back of her mind… but the best assumption she could come to seemed to be the most plausible.
Sauntering over, in her hero costume. Wearing forearm coverings and a tube top designed to look like bandage bindings, and of course her baggy pants which she could really only call ‘the Kamina pants’ given she never could remember the official name for pants like this but-
Either way, striding across to approach the two of them, she pursed her lips, clearly wanting to say something but second guessing it with every passing second, raising a hand closer to herself as if rearing up to say it and eventually…
“…This is gonna come out REAL offensive if I’m wrong but…” She pointed to the kangaroo lad infront of her. “Aussie pro right?~” She glanced down to his chest and smirked a little cheekily as she added with an idle shrug. “I mean ‘ey nice shirt even if I’m wrong.” She smirked wide, hoping to alleviate the potential offense she’d given with a bit of light humor to help lighten any potential tension there. She glanced across to the girl in the same moment, still with an aching sensation she’d seen them before but… “Ah fuck me I swear I’ve seen you too… ‘nother Aussie or…?” God way to be doubly offensive if her first guess was wrong.

It took everything Topsy had not to collapse onto the ground in embarrassment after Hopper's exclamation, as chuckles from around them broke out. She'd half a mind to go on the tips of her toes and smack the big oaf in the back of his head, but she had to be a bit more professional right now. After all, it seemed that the Japanese #1 was sauntering right over to them! Before she could even open her mouth in greeting, however, the Japanese pro hero suddenly posed a question to the grinning kangaroo. He raised a brow as she questioned him, pausing for a moment, only to burst out with a hearty laugh. "Ha! Fair Dinkum. I'm not just any Aussie Pro, you're lookin' at the Number 1 from down under. Just so happens I'm a fan of good ol' Accadacca too." Hopper would declare, puffing his chest as if to proudly display that shirt. Topsy smirked herself, realizing that perhaps he was going to get along just fine with the Japanese Pro...
A bit surprised at the sudden and casual arrival of Red Horn herself, Topsy was a bit taken aback by a question coming her way. The younger woman nodded her head, acting a bit more professional than her senior. "Close enough. I'm Topsy, from New Zealand. Though, with ANZHOP, both countries' Heroes are always workin' together anyway, so it's an easy mistake." Despite her apparent youth, she spoke with a level of courtesy. That was not shared by her much more casual coworker.
"Ah, bugger me, where are my manners? Name's Hopper. Already know yours, sheila. Red Horn, right? Never thought the Japanese #1 would be an import!" He declared jokingly, extending one of his large hands out for a shake. "Pleasure meetin' ya. So, what's the goss? You a teacher here, or just come to have a stickybeak?"

Mia took in the two pros before her, glad for the chance to not have to speak japanese for a change. She was always getting better but now and then she could always have some contextual slip or another that could have been disasterous with the wrong people or something. Wither way just naturally letting out more of her 'yanky' accent was a relief and let her feel her words more in the back of her throat again, holding the purchase pure confidence could only give since she no longer had to minutely tip toe around each of her word choices.
While ‘Hopper’ as she’d soon come to know him as seemed to embaress their friend Mia was just all the more endeared, and it seemed her guess was right on the money. Kinda begged the question if he became the aussie number one just for ‘representing the brand’ well or if he was a decent hero. If the rankings were a popularity contest like they are here in Japan she’d be cautious to think the former but never rude enough to say it aloud. Afterall he was a big guy, probably did a good job ontop of getting a ‘lucky’ quirk for representing the Aussies as a pro.
As he let out his words though Mia’s gut instincts failed her as she burst out past her lips into a brief giggle / chuckle, trying to cover her mouth as she just heard the most stereotypical aussie slang she could imagine coming out of his mouth. “Ah fuck I’m sorry!~” She managed through a bit of giggling, trying to pound her chest to get the giggles out a little and calm herself down before finally managing to get her breath… and briefly losing it again at ‘Accadacca’. When she finally managed to calm down a little she let out a long sigh as she rested her hands on her knees. “Ah damn like… seriously mate sorry there I just…god if the kangaroo quirk didn’t tip me off to ya being an Aussie the way you speak sure woulda… ah sorry. I’m over it just…” She tried to think of how to put it and finished with a smirk. “I always knew those were things you guys supposedly said but actually hearing it in a proper bit of speech caught me off guard!~”
The new Zealand pro introduced herself too. No number 1 addendum this time though so either New Zealand didn’t have the program or she just wasn’t. Either way if it was a popularity contest, and heck even if it wasn’t she wasn’t gonna look down on ‘em or anything. Just especially not if the option was the former. “Well, Topsy, Hopper. Glad to know my reputation goes beyond Japan. As for the whole import thing, what with this place being one o’ the first to do the whole hero pro shtick they basically scouted me in America. I mean, even in a country that big, wasn’t like it was hard to spot a lass like me!~” She gestured over herself with a prideful grin, she wasn’t at her max muscle level, but now that she was doing a lot more official work and getting stronger, even her more relaxed level of muscle seemed a little beyond the norm, just without tipping her proportions into anything entirely un-realistic to the initial glance.
She paused at ‘sticky beak’, muttering very quietly as her eyes drifted off. “’Ang on. Sticky beak… stick ya beak in… assuming ya mean to have a nose around? If so year. Honestly I couldn’t hack it as a teacher here. I try and take a promising kid or two and give ‘em a little extra guidance but I ain’t strict enough to be a teacher for the next generation. How about you two? Teachers yourselves or out on the streets?” Of course she didn’t mean to say pros couldn’t do both, buuuuuut… the average school day did eat up a chunk of a hero’s time.
“So, sports festival bring you here I take it? Anzhop the school you guys are rootin’ for?” She’d look between the two of them, shifting her weight on the spot as she folded her arms addressing them on pretty equal terms.

When Mia burst out laughing at Hopper's rather distinctive language, the larger lad ended up raising a confused brow at first. Obviously, he didn't quite get what was so funny about AC/DC! Topsy, meanwhile, couldn't help but wear a look that mixed bot embarrassment and amusement. Hopper was basically broadcasting to everyone around them that they were from down under, and that greatly embarrassed her... At the same time, however, she couldn't help but be incredibly amused by how oblivious and sincere he was actually being.
When Mia finally explained what was so funny, Hopper let out his own hearty chuckle for a moment. "Hah, well, I do wear me national pride at all times. I'm born and bred Aussie, think ya can tell I was practically born into it." He declared, now seeing what was so amusing to her. He was under no illusions about how... Different his manner of speech was, so when Mia expressed some surprise at hearing him speak that way, he just shrugged his shoulders. "It's just what's natural. Sometimes it's outta place, but I'm sure the yank in Japan knows what that's like. Then again, not a fair comparison, seein' as our accents are a lot more charmin'." He prodded, grinning widely. Hopper was still probably not aware to the full extent of his... Aussie-ness, but he was aware of it enough to at least take the joke in stride.
Mia gave her own proper introduction, and Hopper and Topsy were both interested to learn about her own origin. While Hopper just seemed surprised that they'd scouted her from all the way over in America, Topsy looked genuinely curious abut it all. "I see... Japan really did put a lot of resources into scouting their 'first wave', after all. I guess that's why they're at the head of the pack in Heroics." The younger woman mused.
Hopper, in his own way, expressed some curiosity himself. Mostly about what Red Horn was doing, wandering about the festival. They both listened in on her answer, and when she turned it back to them, answered promptly. "Me 'n Topsy handle a bit of both. I'm a full-time teacher at ANZHOP College, Topsy here's a pretty common guest teacher." Hopper answered proudly, bouncing on his feet a bit. "Lotta those kids ain't been in a proper fight before, so havin' an old, tough bastard like me around helps em find their stride."
Topsy grinned alongside her senior. "They're good kids, too. I'd like to spend more time there, but I've barely got a fraction of the experience of this old 'roo." The younger woman would add.
Hopper would give an enthusiastic thumbs up to Red Horn's question about who they were supporting. "Strewth! We're gonna be cheerin' on our kids to give a good show here. Us Aussies and Kiwis might not be as major players on the big stage, but we plan to give the Japs a run for their money!" Topsy sighed lightly at his enthusiasm, not looking forward to how rowdy he'd get in the stands.
"What about you, Red Horn? Anyone in particular you're supporting?" Topsy inquired, a curious glint in her eyes. Compared to Hopper, she was definitely looking up to the other woman as more of a senior than an equal.
