MAKOTO ITO STOOD ON THE DOCKS of the Shinagawa terminal, his cruiser to his back. His vest, slacks, and cap declared him as a police officer—his austere expression and chiseled face, all the while, declared him as someone not to be fucked with. Today was supposed to be his day off. He worked a rotating schedule, Sunday’s off for church attendance, and his other day off determined by the day of the week.
He’d lost his day-off to this damn sting operation.
Pro heroes and police officers alike working to take-on the Plutocracy. Some weapons dealing ring, or some shit.
Makoto Ito was a part of the transport.
They were parked away from the main dock—Officer Ito and a number of other officers on standby. Most sat in their cars and waited with baited breath as they listened with religious reverence for the transmissions over their radio, tracking a play-by-play of the shitshow the sting operation had become. Would they mobilize to an alternate location? Was it over?
Officer Ito, all the while, preoccupied his breath with an entirely different matter. He drew a cigarette to his lips, taking a slow drag. He held it in for a moment… then… siiiiigh.
“You sure this is a good time to be smoking?” another officer called through an open window.
“Fuck off,” Ito quipped in reply, “It’s a much more exciting show to watch.”
Quirks discharging left and right, gunfire, flying shipping containers, God knew what else. Human weapons fighting the fight that otherwise fell on the shoulders of the police.
“What a fucking circus.”
The police being the ringleaders, and the quirkers being the animals. Ito took another drag, and breathed into the air.
An hour after the IOL Endeavor came to its sweeping halt, after police boats swarmed the cargo ship and its motley passengers began to disembark, small police boats puttered their way across the bay, slicing through the choppy grey surf. Progress was slow and silent. The awaiting forces watched the boats with a tense intrigue. Who had they found? What had they found? The boats came flush with the docks, mooring down below, and their passengers began to disembark.
By this time, Makoto Ito had finished his cigarette.
Everything surged to life. Ito watched with muted interest at the people who clambered onto the docks. Some faces he had seen on the news, both those who’d been lauded as heroes, and those who were wanted as criminals. He peered past them.
Heroes went back to the armored truck out of which operations were based, getting a hard-earned coffee or seeking medical attention where necessary. Criminals were guided into the awaiting cop cars before being swept away to the station. His steely eyes cut past the chaos until they glommed-on to a particular figure of interest. A teenager in cuffs. Ito stood a little taller, cupping a hand to his mouth.
“Oi! Officers! Got an open cruiser over here!” he shouted.
The officers, upon being summoned, bee-lined for Ito.
“I can take the kid off your hands, if ya want,” Ito grunted, “Take ‘m to the station, right?”
“This is Niso Konto,” a bright-eyed officer advised Ito, “One of Japan’s top ten? No way! We’ve been given orders to take him straight to Central!”
Ito frowned. A kid like that, on Japan’s Top Ten Most-Wanted? He surveyed the officer beside him, all fresh-faced and excited about apprehending such a big catch.
“Come with me, then,” Ito grunted, “Let’s get ‘m to Central.”
Ito opened the back door to his cruiser for the other officer to let the boy in.

His head had been aching... The mixture of Grace and Niso's DNA had caused him great issues and when he was briefly knocked out he'd somehow lost functions in both quirks. Thankfully he was able to hold Niso's form at least allowing his cover to not be removed. His true form needing to be free from the chaos this life truly brought. It was a key component to allowing him to live as freely as he desired to seek out his passions without worry.
His head still felt groggy as he allowed himself to rest for the time. Moving along with the motions and giving very little if anything that could be read as resisting. Perhaps being a model arrest in some ways, All the while allowing his body's natural healing properties to take course and allow his wounds to mend and his energy to slowly return to him. His eyes tired as always although without his normal dark rings encircling them given he was wearing another person's face in the present moment.
He kept silent for now even with the cuffs at his wrists. His tired eyes looking downward as he retreated into his own mind for the moment. Thinking on his options and all that brought him here. His molars gnashing as he desired nothing more then to currently eat the heart of that flying bitch that had bested him. But for now he'd keep his eyes peeled a chance would present itself... he just had to be ready for it and allow his body to regain all it could in the mean time.

ITO WATCHED WITH THIN EYES as the other officer loaded the boy into the car, his expression grim. There was some phlegm accumulating in his throat, so he cleared it. Niso was secured, the door was shut behind him. Makoto Ito tipped his hat to the other officer, and began to circle around the front of his cruiser, his heels clicking on the pavement.
"I'm coming with you!" the bright-eyed officer insisted, striding towards he passenger-side door.
Ito arched an eyebrow.
"Japan's Top Ten, remember? This teen may not look it, but he's dangerous!"
"Sure, whatever," groaned Ito. He jerked his door open and sank fluidly into the driver's seat of the cruiser, slamming he door shut behind him.
This... complicated things.
Officer Ito pulled a rather archaic-looking cell phone out of the cup-holder in the center console of the car, and slid it into a space in the driver's-side door. The other officer joined him.
The two policemen buckled their seatbelts, and the cruiser pulled away from the line of cruisers, gradually accelerating down the road.
"So... you from this precinct?" Ito asked, his voice booming, "I know they were flying boys in from all over the country for this here operation."
"Edogawa," the other officer said brightly, "You?"
"Shinjuku," Ito said drolly.
The brief response only curried more prattle from the unexpected tagalong riding in the passenger's seat. Ito only listened enough to punctuate his sentences with a well-placed, "uh-huh" at each pause. His gaze flicked towards the rearview mirror, towards the teen who appeared to be drifting-off in the back seat, then towards the cell-phone in his side door.
The other officer prattled on, blissfully unaware of the driver's inattentiveness. Ito sighed. At least it was only a twenty-minute drive. He opened his eyes again. He came to a brief halt at the road, eyes darting left and right. No oncoming traffic. The cruiser banked right onto the street and moved casually onward.

The two officers seemed to at times have a tone that applied light annoyance. John listened quietly while though most of the time being the model of compliance and working with each implied guidance of the officer as well as any verbal commands issued in his direction. John himself didn't always get out much or care about the outward world that didn't matter towards his goals and passions. The sensation of realizing he'd copied a villain of such ill repute had been amateur move on his part. His eyes and mind only cared about the powers and art he saw he could work with them or the disguise and shadows one might in pretending to be another. Still the whole idea of it all caused a brief and mild sigh to exhale briefly from his lips. His body relaxing lightly as he tried to let the tension from such realizations slowly fade out of himself.
John inwardly took not of the police stations mentioned although he had no way to record it other then mentally since he didn't have any of his usual tools. If he had them he may have plotted having a future meeting with these two if they proved to be... rude company. But so far he had reserved himself to doing only what was needed and waiting for opportunity to arise. He wiggled his wrists silently testing the secure strength of the cuffs but they were secure to no surprise. For now though beyond keeping his tired eyes peeled and in observation he would remain relatively silent and thinking to himself.

ITO DRUMMED A STEADY BEAT on the steering wheel, weathering the small-talk with only minimal patience. They'd cruise down the street for a bit, come to a stoplight, wait their turn. The streets were uncharacteristically quiet for the time of day. Then, a figure, standing at the street, waiting to cross. A teen with long bangs. She appeared to be texting. Dark eyes lifted from the phone screen, fastening onto the man in the back of the police cruiser.
A pause.
She resumed texting.
The cruiser pulled away.
Time stretched. The phone in the driver's side door buzzed loudly, insisting to be answered. Ito lifted the phone to his ear. The other officer fell quiet.
"Bring me your prisoner," a silky, female voice crooned, "And your debt will be cleared. We'll deal with your copilot. Meet us in the parking garage across the street from the Oedo Antique Market. Top floor. You have a half-hour."
The receiver clicked and Ito was alone with the other police officer once again.
Ito frowned, and replaced the phone.
"Who was that?" the fellow officer asked brightly.
"My wife," Ito grunted, digging into his pant's pocket. He procured another phone, a smart phone. He handed it to the officer in the passenger's seat.
"Type in the 'Oedo Antique Market', would you?" Ito asked, "She wants me to meet her after my shift. I get off soon."
"Sure!"
The officer complied, his thumbs flying expertly across the screen. Ito accelerated down the road. Ito checked the rearview mirror. What did she see in this kid?
It wasn't his job to ask questions. He looked further.
No cars behind them.
"Here!"
The phone was offered back, Ito moved as though he were reaching for it, but instead he clicked the other officer's seatbelt, and then he slammed the brakes.
The back end of the car fishtailed, spewing white smoke, and the other officer flew forward with the momentum. *Crunch*, his face connected with the dashboard, and he slumped forward unconscious.
"Now I've got some goddamn quiet," Ito grunted, by way of an explanation. He wrestled the other officer into a seated position, their head lolling to the side so that blood dribbled onto the shoulder of their uniform. Ito buckled them back in, and proceeded down the street at a quick, but unassuming, pace.
He looked at the other officer-- nose probably broken, unconscious. It was better that way. Couldn't have anyone radio'ing for backup, now, could they? Ito peered into the backseat.
"Betcha haven't seen shit like that before, have ya?" he barked. He then turned his attention to the cell phone in the unconscious man's grip, freeing it from the slackened fingers, and hit "Navigate".

The strange expression of 'Niso' shed with time as the vehicle he was held within lurched with speed and strange motion as he was still secured in the back. The sickening crunch from upfront as well as the interactions though watched as keenly as one could given present circumstance. But he always had a keen eye for a hunt as well as details. Like a cornered animal John waited with fang, and tooth, held back until it was time to bare them. Although things were quickly becoming truly hard to tell what was happening as this strange turned caused him to raise his brow in silent reflection as well as reaction. Looking forward
John felt his mouth salivate lightly from the crack as he though of desires and fantasies that already flooded his mind for what he'd like to do to the officers and heroes that had ruined his plans this evening. The Niso act slowly fading for a truly serious and cold stare that took his gaze. Almost void of life as well as no mercy or empathy coming from it either as he remained somewhat silent for a long moment even after this strange opening indecent.
"It would seem you have me at a disadvantage sir. I'm afraid If I'm supposed to know whatever is at hand at the moment. I don't..." He'd say simply asking for answers in his own stoic and cold way without actually asking. His body growing tenses where he say and remained secured for now. His breath feeling heavy as he felt more and more like a cornered beast wanting to lash out but not doing so of course barely even having the ability to do so either of course even if he wanted too.

ITO SNORTED AT THE BOY'S RESPONSE, a stilted and understandably confused one. His shrewd eyes lifted to the rearview mirror, surveying the young, teenage face that stared back at him. Any normal person would’ve been taken aback when a police officer took-out another police officer like that. This kid merely arched an eyebrow and said that Ito expected him to understand what was going-on, he was sorely mistaken.
“My boss has taken an interest in you,” Ito said simply, his grip on the steering wheel tightening, “I am not certain as to why. But it is not my job to ask questions. Only to do as I’ve been asked.”
The unconscious copilot drooled onto the front of his shirt, saliva mingling with blood to make a viscous, red drip.
“Just had to come along,” he muttered, shaking his head. The poor bastard.
Ito was otherwise silent for the rest of the drive, rolling into a rather dilapidated looking parking garage and drifting quietly up the levels. Cars grew sparser, the higher they went, and they reached a fenced section that was labeled as “Private Use – No Trespassing”.
Some of *her* goons were already waiting there. Ito rolled down the window as one approached the driver’s side.
“Ito,” he grunted, “You were supposed to come alone.”
“The kid was eager to join me, I couldn’t say no,” Ito said flatly.
“He dead?”
“Nah.”
The goon on the driver’s side opened the unlocked door and undid the seatbelt, pulling the passenger out by his arm. With his free hand, he pulled out a gun with a silencer, pressed it to the unconscious officer’s temple, and finished the job.
“He’ll be taken care of,” the goon said, “Carry on. She’s waiting.”
Ito saluted and pulled away, rolling his window back up. They turned the corner, and there she stood. Ito’s employer. Ito pulled into a parking spot and powered-off the car, undoing his seatbelt.
“Wait here,” he said flatly. And then smiled and breathed a faint, “Heh.”
As if the boy had a choice.

| To the prisoner it must had looked like a peculiar situation to say the least. First he was taken captive during the events at Shinagawa, and now in the midst of his transport it appeared the infamous Niso Konto found himself in the midst of a conspiracy.
As Ito exited the vehicle and told his prisoner to wait, the man was soon greeted by a tall figure and two smaller ones. The latter two seemed clearly human in shape, one seemingly was a young woman clad in the garb of an eastern priestess, a 'shrine maiden' or Miko as they would call them. The other seemed to be a more formally dressed woman, wearing a stylish tuxedo. But what about the tall figure, the one that seemingly was the corrupt cop's 'boss'? The tall figure seemed Arachnid in nature, at the very least from his seat Niso could only likely see the lower abdomen of the person, which looked indeed like that of a deathly spider.
However, if he strained his hearing he would hear a voice as soft as silk address the man. "I'm glad that you could make it Ito-kun~" The Arachne Queen chimed softly, of course, she anticipated he wanted to get his business handled as quickly as possible. She gestured her hand lightly at the car, the shrine maiden nodding her head as she moved over and extended a hand to the door, a soft click resounding as her fingertips pressed on the lock and soon 'Niso' was face to face with the young shrine maiden who smiled softly at him. "How crude, for them to handcuff you like that~"
As her fingertips reached for the handcuffs of the man, there seemed to be a few clicks and snaps resounding before the lock went undone and the prisoner had regained his freedom. Stepping aside she allowed the young man to get out of the car while the Arachne Queen tapped one of her Arachnid legs on the ground, a trapdoor opening to reveal a small reinforced suitcase underneath it. "As promised, your debt is paid, and your reward for the job~"
A few steps were made as the Arachne approached the police car and greeted the prisoner. "Good day 'Niso', and yet he who is not Niso either~ It is truly a delight to finally make your acquaintance. I am Tsukiko of the Fujiwara family, the 'Arachne Queen'. It seems you had quite an unfortunate time in Shinagawa. Poor boy... you must be starving, not to mention, you are no longer Niso aren't you? And yet... if my guess is right you don't want to be 'nobody' right now either..."
She turned her gaze sideways, her eyes settling on Ito. "Ito-kun~ Be a dear and make a nice meal for our 'guest', will you?"
Certain her words would confuse the cop, he would soon likely remain oblivious to the fact the tuxedo-clad woman had approached him with an almost assassin-like silence, and a nimble thrust of a small sharp object was aimed at his back. If it hit, Ito would no doubt notice just how quick the paralyzing venom would hit, his body still feeling everything, but not a single muscle could move, and his voice seemingly would have drowned out.
"Such a pity..." She sighed softly, and soon continued onwards. "You had quite some use to me Ito-kun, but you see... I can't have an outsider know about my guest's identity, and so we'll have to weave a new story~"
She turned her gaze at 'Niso' and her lips curved up slightly, a gentle bow of her female human upper-body being made and with a light wave of her hand she beckoned him over. "Your dinner awaits you 'he who is everyone, yet nobody at the same time'~ Although, I guess from now on... you'll be Ito-kun, won't you?"
The poor soul, to think he had merely done his job, yet for the Arachne Queen this was just a needed sacrifice in her plan.

It had become abundantly clear this was in no way the normal transport as he originally had expected. The youthful face that still remained on his body that made him look like Niso the strange bloody killer he'd stolen dna from not long back. The auction and all that came after had not gone as planned at all. He'd put to much expectations when it came to the security of that strange group running the auction and sales that night. While this strange encounter and the other officer who'd been knocked out made it clear he wasn't going to jail per say at least from the looks of it. But at the end of the day it was like moving from the pan and possibly into the fire. As he was still somewhat in unknown waters and had no idea what was metaphorical swimming about in those waters around him.
The young Niso faced man would allow the new person to remove the cuffs and remained somewhat relaxed during the reveal and encounter. His tired eyes peering through in a almost exhausted expression even with the youthful face he'd stolen for the time. Johns unusual cool and relaxed behavior shining through a little bit as he seemed to hold back or possibly not show any tension that may have been building from the seriousness of the moment and all the unknown details as well of the current encounter.
His eyes watched curiously and in a strange lack of emotion as to all that would happen. His mouth however feeling a tension if not as well a beast like hunger at the idea of what she offered. He could feel himself lightly gnaw upon his lower lip at the idea but wasn't exactly as open to be free in such ways to this person that seemed to know a great deal without being known themselves. Leaving him at somewhat of a true disadvantage and confusion in the entirety of the moment.
"Seem's strange to go though all this trouble for someone who has so little of a reputaiton." He'd say partially as a thing of pride as well since his ways and his style meant remaining an unknown figure. Which made it all the more curious how this one seemed to know certain details. "What kind of odd way of introductions this has become... I suppose I didn't know what to expect either." Somewhat still in disbelief of what all might be happening. Light confusion all about him as for now he simply observed as old ancient hungers groaned and twisted within himself.

Indeed, it had become clear that this was far from an ordinary transport to a prison facility. Even if there was a lack of reaction from the guest they had just freed, the shrine maiden merely smiled and stepped back, seemingly waiting for him to exit the vehicle. However, when the words finally left his lips, the Arachne smiled kindly at him. "And it is exactly for that reason I am here my dear~" Even as the paralyzed Ito squirmed helplessly on the ground, the Arachne merely ignored him and continued to speak. "Building a reputation has its benefits, but it also has its detriments. There is a lot of power in a name, and yet at the same time, it makes subtility a bit tricky. Not that such a thing if a problem for you when you can change your 'role' with the same ease one changes clothes."
The shrine maiden slowly moved over to her side while the Arachne Queen gazed straight into John's eyes. "If I were not to interfere, your true nature would become exposed, which would be such a painful loss. You hold so much potential my dear, and I would love to see it put to good use." She raised a hand to her cheek and tapped it lightly. "But for now you shouldn't let your dinner grow cold~ If my intel about you is correct, you should be able to learn a bit more about me and my plans by accepting this gift I present you."
Should John decide to indulge on his meal, he would no doubt start to feel something different than usual, memories of the police officer flashing through his mind like a recording. He would no doubt realize the influence this woman held on the world, how dangerous she truly was without anyone even realizing her true nature.
"What I desire from you my dear is not to become infamous or all-powerful, I desire for you to join me, to become one of those who manipulate things from the shadows, then again, you likely wonder why I go through such efforts~ What it is that I desire by doing so? Then tell me first~ What is it that 'you' desire?"

He couldn't help but feel a small spark or urge to smile at her... He didn't but it was like the sensation to do so still ran through him. Maybe he did in his own way given a genuine smile was something a bit different for him. Something of joy and passion were not the same in his chemical make up as it was to another living being. Reputation normally kept this type and parts of life away from him as was how he liked it. What he did wasn't for notice... It was a personal experience. It was a special something that transcended all other forms of contact and intimacy. An it took many failures to ever find the connection that worked just right with his chosen interests. Others would always call them victims but it was merely that they lacked the will or chance to truly understand. Even with this young boy's face that would soon shed if he didn't escape further to shed safety. It was if without shedding the face physically most of the fake moxxy and attempts if any left to pretend to be something else had faded. Much like simply wearing a costume at this point without any spirit behind the act.
"You put it a bit to simply, But I suppose it fits enough for the moment. I'd offer a better explanation for it buy my passion was never in the words." He'd say simply enough. Unsure what tests or games were exactly being put forward now. What was wanted and was simply a part of some game or evaluation. He wasn't a fool by any means in fact far from it. But try as he might there were too many unknown factors, to many what ifs to even have the mildest shred of a chance of piecing together what all was actually at play here.
He felt perturbed by her simple regard of eating this thing so easily. But much like the host he wore presently or the pesky detective from a time back. It seemed one more act of defiling nature that was a act of need and not of his normal passion and desire. He didn't enjoy things as... bare bones as this one might say. But ever still he'd descend upon a simply body warm with crimson fluid pumping from veins down his jowls once he sunk Niso's teeth into flesh. Did she simply want to see the act? Although the fact she didn't fully understand him could have been a boon in disguise. Or maybe that's just what he told himself as he swallowed a chunk of red meat. Leaving the remaining husk bellow him with red fluids draining like a small twisting river.
"This is more a thing of necessity I will say... I do not go about things in ways such as this..." He'd say as meat settled in his gullet. His word briefly jostled and confused by odd images in his head. A strange influence or perhaps unfamiliar power. His flesh taking a familiar burn as he could feel the shape of Niso's face burn and loosen as flash began to sag lightly on his face. John peeling it away like dead skin which in a sense it was. Bloody heaps of flesh slowly peaking as he form began to remold into a similar style as the sacrificed officer. He'd slow the process as much as he could though. Allowing the new face at least though not wanting his own to be revealed. But once the process began it was a new form or turn back into his old as Niso's dna would slowly flee from his body and be replaced by the new donation of dna.
His hands would remain relatively blood free until this point as he wiped his mouth free and one palm gripping at his forehead of loose and shedding skin. As if the man before the woman was a lump of clay and slowly underneath a new statue was being formed. "I take it this has to do with your quirk?" He'd say in some speculation somewhat implying she'd know what he was talking about given memories... That was somewhat new. He never learned this way... His passion was how he learned normally of those he would eventually wear like a shroud.
"What I want... What a odd questions. I don't want anything other then to live my life and pursue my passions. What I am and what I can become isn't something I wish it's simply something I am guided too. The name I use where you likely heard of me and my name other then that aren't even reflections of what I want either. To be honest I scarcely remember my old name at times. Unless you mean what I want more in the present... IF such is the case then I would very much like to return home and prepare a proper... meal." He'd say simply enough. Perhaps it was a joke but given his cold tired voidless expression it made it hard to tell if he was even capable of humor such as that. While he didn't fear death he didn't yearn for it either. So he still listened curious at least so it didn't feel like he was still detained anymore at least.

The Arachne smiled, seemingly acting less as if she was dealing with a dangerous villain that she had just aided in escaping, and more like she was simply catching up with a long lost friend. Her gaze lingered on the man as he quietly considered his thoughts. In a way what he was thinking made sense, it was difficult for a 'normal' person to understand those feelings that John was feeling. The passion and joy that came with the hunt, the experience that came from observing your target and learning every little bit about them, right before consuming them. It made the spider lady hum softly. "You'd make a fine stalker~" Whether she was speaking in jest, or a more dangerous form of profiling was hard to say, but the smile on her lips seemed genuine. "Of course~ not everything can simply be expressed in words~" Indeed, some sensations could simply not be described by something simple like words, one had to truly experience it to be able to claim one understood what they were talking about.
She paused, waiting to see if he would accept her gift, and indeed just like she had expected John decided to finally devour the paralyzed man in front of her. It took a bit for him to undergo the change, and with his explanation of it being a thing out of necessity, she nodded her head solemnly in return. "I understand my dear, much better than you presume~ There is no delight in being given a reward without the effort that comes in your hunt. Perhaps next time you'll be able to hunt on your own terms and pursue your passion in a way only you can understand.
She nodded in approval as John started to undergo his metamorphosis, and when he inquired about the effect he had experienced she smiled sheepishly at him. "Somewhat, before you consumed him he was injected with a venom which altered his genetic code somewhat, simply said the memories you gained are imprinted into the flesh you devoured, but it is a one-off something unfortunately."
Her smile lingered as a hand withdrew to the side, seemingly beckoning the shrine maiden at her side to step forward who quietly handed John what appeared to be something akin of a business card. "Go home and rest for now~ If you ever feel like honing your passion further, we shall meet again~"
It was spoken in that same soft honeyed voice as before. "By the way: I am the Arachne Queen, I look forward to seeing you again... John~"
And with those words she merely turned away, seemingly approaching the back of the alley where a large black limousine was waiting for her, the door being opened by one of her guards yet the shrine maiden looked at John for a bit longer and whispered softly. "Be careful sir... it seems Mistress took a liking to you, and most either end up getting their wildest dreams turned into reality, or devoured of everything they hold dear."
and with those words John was left to ponder about this unusual encounter.

It was a strange but welcomed encounter at its end. John was free yet again and pulled from the ever strengthening grip of the law that had moments ago held him in its empirical grasp. Not only that these interesting and powerful vibe giving off woman had showed him a interesting trick. The taste of flesh when passing his lips had not only come with a sensation that may have allowed him to take form. But a rush of memories much like a vision or perhaps remembering them as if they were his own came into his head briefly and under some focus he could shift them as if recalling them as naturally as his own stored memories. So this was the kind power she had... the kind that could turn hours of surveillance into wasted time when one could simply learn about their target by feasting alone.
