Upon the founding of the Japanese Hero Program in 2072, a secondary UA class, initially dubbed "General Studies" was founded with the intention of providing logistics and infrastructure for the Hero Program. Midway through the first year, the name was changed to "Support Studies" to more accurately represent the purpose of the class.
Support Studies training is every bit as intense and demanding as the Hero Program, aimed to teach prospective students to:
Support Students and Hero Students are able (and encouraged) to take courses outside of their program as electives.
After graduation, a Hero Support should be well-prepared to provide all these functions to a single Hero, or Hero Team.
The most important distinctions between a Hero Student, and a Support is that a Hero License permits the holder to use their quirk for non-lethal combat and arrests, while a Support License does not extend beyond self defense. However, Support Students are qualified to make equipment for other people, and use their quirk for medicine, while Hero Students are not licensed to provide weapons, armor, or mobility devices to persons beyond themselves, and must take a certification course to use their quirk for medicine.

- Design and maintain specialized equipment, armor, and weaponry for heroes, the government, and police.
- Provide crisis transportation for heroes and civilians.
- Provide medicine including: first aid, long-term care, and psychological screening.
- Provide intelligence, including: reconnaissance, surveillance, profiling, and criminal investigation.
- Provide field oversight and tactical control for Heroes.
- Learn Basic Self-Defense
