Three punches. One, two, three, and kick! Another punch. And uppercut!Kenshin was currently training, beating down a punching bag as though it were a villainous scumbag. He was good at close range combat, but he believed that he could do better. As a vigilante, he needed to be ready for any kind of villain. No matter what deceptive trick or cheat they tried, the boy was determined to stay on top, to prove that he still had what it takes to kick ass. To keep people safe. Despite the cold weather outside, this did nothing to deter Kenshin from his training. He was determined to get stronger no matter what. He could not afford to lose to any villain. Failing against Mirai, that despicable Dojo Hunter, it pissed Kenshin off that she could do something so terrible to Shien's Dojo and get away with it. No, that could not happen again! He had lost to her twice, and he was determined to never lose to her or any criminal again! Punch, punch, jab, kick!It really pissed him off. All these criminals running loose, with the police and heroes trying their best to stop them only to come up short. Kenshin needed to improve, to help the law do its job, to keep the innocent safe, to beat down pricks like Thunder, Mirai, Crowley, and anyone else who threatened the safety of Tokyo. "HIYA!"A hard enough kick, and Kenshin quickly sighed in relief upon seeing that the punching bag was still intact after the brutal beating the boy was giving it. He wanted to be careful not to break the stuff here. The last thing he wanted was to cause trouble for G and Hanako. Kenshin was glad that he was not currently working his shift right now. He could just focus on his training. He did not need to worry about helping anyone right this moment. Though of course, if anyone were to approach him and ask for help, Kenshin would not refuse to lend a hand. After all, what kind of person would refuse to help another and then have the audacity to call themselves a warrior of justice? Certainly not Kenshin. Punch, kick, kick! | Word count: 369

Miku needed to train. A lot. She was still weak compared to her peers. Everyone can beat her down, her Quirk was just bad. But what can she do? Well, maybe she can learn how to punch and kick better. So, she went to the gym to just lash out on a poor punching bag. Since G was busy with his own stuff.
One thing Miku didnt expect to see... or one person... one event... was Kenshin going ham on a punching bag. She didnt want to break his concentration, so she silently entered the area and moved aside to sit down and observe his movements and actions, maybe learning something from them.
Alrthough, once Kenshin was done and went to take a short break or something, Miku spoke up. She raised her hand first and greeted Kenshin "Hello!" She didnt want to startle him while he was working, so she figured this post punching time was right for her to speak up and not mess up. She then said "I know this might be a stupid or obvious question, but... what brings you here?" well training brings him here, duh. But how come? Did something happen? Thats what she wanted to know

Kenshin continued to train, practicing his quick and powerful strikes. The more proficient he could become at kicking ass, the better. With how focused on his training he was, the boy did not even notice Miku's presence just yet. He was just concentrating on perfecting his technique and reflexes. It was a shame that this was merely a punching bag. Training with another person was always more effective. Oh well. Punch, punch, jab, roundhouse kick! The only thing that stopped Kenshin from beating up the punching bag all day was the fact that he knew very well just how important rest was. Working through the pain, ignoring the natural fatigue that came after arduous exercise, only a fool would do that. Rest was just as important if not more so than the actual training. In a sense, it was a part of it. So he stopped abusing the punching bag to go take a break. Just as he began to reach out for his water bottle to take a sip, he heard a familiar voice greet him. "Miku? Hey!" Kenshin was not expecting to see her. How long was she here? Did she just arrive? Or was she here the whole time, and he was too distracted to notice her? Well if that were the case, then that was a problem. The boy would have to work on sharpening his senses sometime. The last thing he wanted was a ninja sneaking up on him or something. "Nah, don't worry about it, your question is fine. I'm honestly just here to work on my martial arts. I figured since I have free time, why not? Oh right, I should mention. I work here now! Your parents hired me not too long ago. But it's not my shift right now." Yeah, Kenshin was not the kind of person to slack off on the job. If it were his work hours, he would be busy helping out others. "I'm not sure if you've seen or read up on the news recently, but there's been an attack on a dojo not too far from here. It's the same dojo I go to for sword training, in fact. This despicable scumbag, the Dojo Hunter, she goes around attacking other dojos, and she showed up at Shien's. So of course, I ran over as quickly as I could when I heard that the place was being attacked." Kenshin then sighed. "But oh boy, I was not expecting the Dojo Hunter to be the same bitch I fought in the past." Kenshin then lowered his voice. He doubted that there was anyone around to eavesdrop on them, but he refused to take any chances. "You know the prick Thunder Shock, right? He has a daughter, Mirai. The first time we fought was back when your sister got kidnapped. I went to fight her so she wouldn't try to get in your dad's way." Kenshin then grit his teeth. "Needless to say, I lost. Only reason she didn't kill me back then was because the villains decided to run away like cowards. That Bucket prick took Mirai and ran off with her. So of course when I found out that the Dojo Hunter was none other than Mirai, I was determined to beat her ass this time. But again, I lost. Tetsuko had to fight her because I wasn't enough."Kenshin then sighed. "So that's why I'm here training, Miku. So that shit like that doesn't happen again. I can't allow Mirai or any villain scumbag to beat me again. I have to get stronger. Strong enough to protect people from these villain scum." He then smiled. "But I've rambled on enough already. Sorry about that. So what brings you here, Miku?" Was she here to just drop in and say hi to her parents? Or did she come here to train as well? | Word count: 646

Kenshin said that she shouldnt worry about it, that her question wasnt stupid. He was just training his martial arts since he had free time, also by the way he works here "Whaaa? You work here?? Thats a mindbloooow" Miku said clearly surprised by what Kenshin said
After that Kenshin said that there has been an attack on a dojo where he would sword train. And then he said something about a dojo hunter being the same person he fought in the past. Then he mentioned Thundershock and how he has a daughter. Miku was thundershook, but luckily it was not about her. Well obviously, she wasnt a dojo hunter. But some chick called Mirai was. Miku listened to Kenshin and nodded as he spoke, she kept mental notes. Apparently both times Kenshin fought her, he lost. And thats why he's training "Sounds like you have a nemesis." Miku said her own observation before continuing on why she was here "Well, Im in the same boat as you. I feel like Im weak and I want to be strong. I always feel like Im behind my fellow second years, like Tetsuko for example since we both know her. I dont wanna be just strong with my Quirk, I wanna have proper like... technique when fighting. Not just flail my arms aimlessly and bite people" she said

Kenshin couldn't blame Miku for her mind-blown reaction. He would be surprised too if the situation were reversed. What were the odds of something like this happening? But talking about work here could wait. The boy nodded when Miku said that it sounds like he had a nemesis. "Yeah, something like that." But yeah, losing twice to Mirai was completely unacceptable! Kenshin needed to get stronger, better, faster. The thought of losing to any villain at all, let alone more than once, was nothing short of frustrating. He listened to Miku talk, how she was apparently in the same boat as him. She wanted to get stronger, but not just with her quirk. She wanted to have proper technique. To not feel like she was behind the others in her year. Kenshin could not help but smile. He could very easily resonate with that sentiment. With that, Kenshin had an idea. "Sounds like what you need is a mentor of sorts. Or perhaps just a sparring partner to practice with. And I'd be more than happy to help you out with that." After hearing Miku's wish about wanting to get stronger, how could the boy refuse? If there was anything he could do to help, he would of course be more than happy to help out. Plus, after seeing her fight in the Sports Festival, Kenshin was more than intrigued by Miku. He wanted to see what she could do and how well she could fight. The thought was much too exciting! "Hell, we could even get started right now if you want to. I'm not busy at the moment. What do you say?" If Miku was up for it, then Kenshin was more than happy to show her a thing or two. Plus, he was eager to spar with her. Despite Miku saying earlier that she feels like she's weak, the boy refused to believe that. He knew she was strong, and that was not even counting any training she must have gotten from G or the UA teachers. How strong though was something that remained to be seen. | Word count: 350

"A mentor?! Yes thats perfect!" Miku said when Kenshin spoke. Sure there was sparring partner, but she was sure Kenshin could teach her so much more. He even offered to have to start right now "Right now?!? Heck yea!!" it was safe to say that Miku was excited
But before that started, Miku asked "Okay! How do we start?" She doubted they were gonna fight since she was physically weak. Miku uses her quirk to augument her strength. Her vines wrap around her arms and upper torso as makeshift extra muscle which give her a 'buff' appearance. Usually like that she fights and mostly in a boxing like smile. Like SMASH. But no real form or finesse to the way she fights. She relies on her Quirk to brute force and brute strength everything. Someone like Kenshin can show her how to fight for real. To Miku this was perfect. A pro Vigilante teaching her how to fight. Sure Kenshin said he needed to work more on his fighting. But Miku couldnt imagine him as being weak. Quirk or no quirk, Kenshin was powerful to her. She had faith that he can do anything he sets his mind to do

Kenshin smiled upon seeing Miku's excitement and enthusiasm. He was pretty excited too. In truth, he was always curious about her quirk ever since he had seen it in action that one time the two fought off that crazy dirt and stone guy. Jeez, that was so long ago! But back to the present, Kenshin nodded. "Alright then! Let's get started."But then came a bit of a problem, one that became apparent when Miku asked how they would start. Kenshin did not exactly have a lesson plan ready. Sure, he had taught others how to fight in different ways in the past, but he was still not exactly teacher material. Fortunately, Kenshin was no stranger to the art of improvisation. All he needed to do was be convincing enough to make sure that Miku did not catch on to the fact that the boy was just making shit up as he went. "Okay, we can start off easy. First, I want you to just punch that punching bag. Punch it as hard and fast as you can. Pretend it's a villain in a real-life combat situation. Hell, pretend it's some asshole who threatened to hurt your family. Beat the fucker down and show him who's boss!"Despite the boy not knowing what to do, he did have a bit of an idea on where to start. For now, he wanted to see Miku punch something and see what she could do. If there was any area for improvement, then Kenshin would show her what she can improve on so she could do better. It was best to start small. Just simple punches for now. Then they could move on to more advanced techniques and maneuvers. And then finally, the two could spar, letting Kenshin see what Miku had learned and how she would put those teachings into practice. Kenshin definitely looked forward to that last part. But no rushing. It was important to cover the basics and then go from there. | Word count: 332

Ok their sudden lesson will start and Kenshins first order was to punch the punching bag as strong as possible. Miku nodded. She just needed to pretend this was someone she hated, a common tactic to improve ones fighting prowess. Miku then punched the punching bag as strong as she can. And upon hit, Kenshin could see the hit was mediocre at best. Miku was not physically strong, one can clearly see that when they look at her.
When Miku punched the punching bag as hard as possible, she looked at Kenshin and asked "Ok! Did it!" the question was what to do now. Miku didnt mind that her punch was weak as this is not how she fights. She usually uses her Quirk, to improve her physical strength. But now she wanted to avoid that and try to use her natural strength as she had faith Kenshin can help her and guide her to improvement. Surely some martial arts would help her fighting. Because for now she just punches, kind of like a boxer with relentless punching. Also there is clawing at foes and biting. She would also kick in the crotch or shin. But that was her fighting.

Naturally, Kenshin observed Miku's punching very closely. Sure, he did not expect her to just punch a hole through the punching bag or anything. That would have been very impressive if she did, though. Still, it was not too shabby. Nothing that could not be improved with more training and exercise. "Not bad. Not excellent, but at least you can punch a guy in the crotch hard enough to take him down." Kenshin chuckled. "Hey, that might be an underhanded tactic, but it is still a viable strategy in a fight. Anyway, it's nothing you need to worry about too much, Miku. Not everyone needs to have power behind their punches. Remember that it's not about who has the stronger fist, but rather who can use their fist better. It's like swordsmanship. Sure, it's nice to have a powerful sword, but without the skill to properly wield it, you're no better off than swinging around a giant stick.
"But my point is, even if your punch is nothing to write home about, you can easily fix that over time with dedicated practice." Kenshin then shrugged. "And that's assuming you even want to specialize in punching. There are plenty of options for combat. Just think about how you're the most comfortable fighting. If you prefer to kick your opponents, then practice your kicking. Or if you're into using weaponry, then improve your skills with said weapon. Or hell, if you fight extensively with your quirk, then focus on mastering those abilities.
"In any case though, it's often a good idea not to try to overspecialize in only one method of combat. Take me for example. I'm excellent with my quirk, and I'm pretty skilled at swordsmanship. But in a situation where I can't use my quirk and I don't have a sword or sword-like object to defend myself with, it puts me at a huge disadvantage. That was why I learned martial arts, in case I find myself exactly in that scenario. It would be wise for you to do the same. Have one main focus of combat, whether it be a weapon, your fists or feet, or your quirk. But also have something else to fall back on in case you need it."Kenshin hoped that his words would be useful for Miku. She did not have to just focus on one way of combat. He was curious on what Miku would like to choose as her main choice in combat if her quirk wasn't available to her for some reason. Martial arts? A weapon, perhaps? Okay, time to move on and continue trying to make himself look like he knew what he was doing. "But yes, technique is one of the most important things to learn, regardless of which form of combat you choose to use. And it's not just how well you land blows on your opponent. It's also how well you can prevent your opponent from landing a blow on you. Or how well you can minimize the blow's impact if preventing the hit is not an option."And that was what Kenshin would have Miku do next. "Alright, so I'm going to try to hit you now. not too hard, as this isn't an actual combat situation. But I want to see just how you react. Try your best to either block my palm, grab my arm to stop me from hitting you, or just dodge altogether. Which you go for is up to you, but I just want to see how well you do it."Kenshin then raised his left hand, ready to strike. "Prepare yourself." Once Miku was ready, Kenshin would then push his palm outward, aiming for Miku's shoulder. | Word count: 616

Miku listened to Kenshin as he was teaching her. She considered telling him that she can boost her own physical strength with the use of her quirk, but decided against that as Kenshin had an excercise idea. Miku needed to do something against Kenshins upcoming attack, either block it or dodge it. Kenshin even gave her ample time to prepare as he quite literally said "Prepare yourself." as he raised his hand. Miku nodded and actually prepared herself so she doesnt panic. And once Miku was ready, Kenshin would then push his palm outward, aiming for Miku's shoulder. Miku who on her own doesnt have the true stength to stop him, tried to grab his hand or at least direct it away so it would miss her shoulder.
Once she did that she looked at Kenshin once again and said "Is this okay?" as she wanted to make sure she wasnt screwing up. Whenever she gets a chance, Miku would decide to tell Kenshin about her abilities and why she seeks to learn unarmed combat. If Miku had to choose what style of fighting, she would maybe go for brute force, so punching perhaps? Miku wondered what Kenshin would say

Kenshin smiled and nodded approvingly as he saw Miku grab his hand and deflect it enough to miss her shoulder. "Yes, nice job there!" But of course, it was now time to explain something, though perhaps Miku already knew due to how obvious it was. "Okay, so you know how I gave you ample time to prepare for my attack? Yeah, most opponents won't ever give you that luxury. They'll try to jump at you the first chance they get. So you need to do your best to-"
Then immediately and without warning, Kenshin moved his hand to Miku's forehead to give the girl a light flick. "Dodge!" With how fast he moved, the boy doubted that Miku would have much time to react, hence why he went for a flick rather than a punch or strike. This was training, after all, so going for an actual attack seemed overkill right now. Though if Miku was able to react in time and catch his hand, then Kenshin would be very impressed.
But either way, Kenshin continued. "For situations like that, you usually have three main options. First, hit your opponent before they can strike you. Remember that you are just as capable of ambushing your opponent, and hitting them hard enough means that you can take them out before they have the chance to pose a threat. Second, become durable enough to the point where their hits don't matter. Though be careful not to show any weakness in your defense if you go this route, lest your opponent breaks through any defense you can present. And finally, be quick enough in your reflexes to deal with whatever your opponent throws at you. Being faster than your opponent means that you have the means of controlling the flow of the fight."
While the boy was not completely sure if this was anything resembling sage advice, it certainly helped him out. Kenshin hoped that this would help out Miku just as much.
"Before we go any further, do you have anything you want to say? Any questions or something on your mind?" Because while the boy was eager to help Miku train, he also wanted to listen to her if she had anything she wanted to share with him. Kenshin felt that a good coach not only helped their pupil by training them and assisting them in improving their skills, but also helped by listening to them and offering advice based on what they needed.

Miku did good! Yay! But now Kenshin started to speak how that always wont be the case that the bad guys give you a chance. And then suddenly Kenshin went to prove a point mid sentence as he suddenly went to attack her. That jumpscared Miku so much she ducked. Once she avoided the 'attack'. She heard Kenshin say "Dodge". Miku looked up and nervously smile "I-I guess I got the dodge down" she then got up on her feet.
Kenshin then spoke that for situations like this you have 3 options. And then he proceeded to explain what those options are. During which Miku would nod and listen. But then he stopped and before he goes any further he asked Miku if she had anything to say. Right! This is perfect, now she gets to say it "Well... I did actualy have something. You see, due to my Quirk, I've always been a long ranged fighter. I'd just mostly let my plants do my bidding. A trait that mainly comes from G. But there comes a time when I have to get up close and personal. I do have some plants that boost my strength. Mostly arm strength, so I can get brute force on my side if need be. But is there any fighting style you would reccommend me?" Miku asked Kenshin
