Quirk Research & Treatment Initiative (QRTI) An initiative that was launched by several nations and is currently spearheaded within Japan. The Quirk Research & Treatment initiative, as the name suggests is focused on researching Quirks and providing proper treatment for them. The first part of this initiative has given rise to the government-related approach of identifying and diagnosis Quirkers and the effects their unusual powers possess. While this process is currently voluntarily, it does mean that not everyone has a file in the initiative, for example, people who kept their Quirks hidden their entire lives, or for malicious reasons ensured their data got erased. However, this research is quite important for the latter phase of the program, which involves the research into proper treatments, not only for the negative effects Quirks might have onto individuals their everyday lives, but also injuries caused by quirks, for example in case of a villain attack. There are plenty of personnel involved in this endeavor. From doctors and surgeons debating the best potential theories on how to help their patients, to pharmacists trying to develop new medicines. Of course, since Quirks are still fairly new, the project is still in somewhat of an early stage. Current Known Achievements of the Initiative:Doctor Nimue Nakahara has developed a prototype medical device capable of suppressing a young girl's dangerous Quirk, allowing her to live a fairly normal life.
