Raiga-what now?
"GAGH!" The heel of a young UA student colliding with her face, Mia had actually been blinded by her tunnel vision on Kouta and the fake thunder covering the sound of Kata's approach, leading to the Oni lady taking a blow direction to the face before she even really knew what was happening. The yell from Kata had her turn her head a little so the blow wasn't directly on the bridge of her nose as it had been intended, but a firm strike across the cheek had Mia genuinely staggering back. Her body was tense and ready for an attack...from Kouta, and so this surprise blow had managed to knock her briefly off balance, her sharp red eyes turning wide for a moment just from the stunning effect of everything, before, with grit teeth and larger tusks peering out over her top lip, she turned a much harsher gaze back towards Kata.
God it was taking everything she had to scoul instead of smile though...
"Oh you've done it now kid...!" She wasn't blind now that the situation was made clear to her however. Kouta was heavy injured from being tossed down the street, but he had the civilian now and was making his best effort to rush away with them, Kata on the other hand was raring and ready to go, and was doing a lot to undo Mia's first impression of her. All she'd remembered of their first encounter, beyond Kata's energy and general likeability, was how she'd collapsed, supposedly as a consequence to training her quirk. So this was what it was like when she was fighting fit huh? Had to admit, she definitely packed one hell of a kick in that tiny body of hers.
"You want my attention? Fine!" Without much thought she reached behind herself. Her thick hand caught under the front of one of the decorative cars that littered this fake street. The weight seemed pretty real from how Mia moved with it, hoisting her hand back over her shoulder, the back wheels of the car still touching the floor as her wild red eyes leered across to Kata herself.
Now, Mia knew for a fact that while these cars were heavy as hell, the metal they were made from warped very easily. What she had planned would hurt a lot, but the metal had enough give to soften the blow so that Kata wouldn't...to be blunt. Die.
"RRRRAAAAAAGH!" Rushing forward with the car in tow behind her, the metal undersides of it falling apart as the rear wheels spun in a way the fake car's design wasn't meant to allow, as Mia got within Range, she slammed down her forward foot, muscle rippling through her calves, thighs, abs, chest, her shoulders and finally washing like a tidal wave of bulging veins up her right arm, gritting down her teeth as the entire car was pulled over her shoulder like the world's thickest sledgehammer, and if Kata, hopefully, had the sense to move, the whole car would slam down, roof first, warping to half it's size in a single blow as the tarmac cracked beneath it, the metallic vibrations of the strike rippling back up Mia's arm, but with the density of her muscle, seemed to halt at her shoulder.
tldr
Mia took the roundhouse Grabbed a car, dragged it behind her and hoisted it overhead like a giant weapon at Kata (said the car frame is actually very soft, so if Kata, for whatever reason, did get hit, the car would absorb most of the impact not her)

Yes! Direct hit! She felt that rush of pride as her attack actually connected, feeling that familiar impact thunder through leg from it's origin point on her shin all the way up to her hip. It felt like kicking stone, frankly, but the surprise of it had at least staggered Red Horn enough that Kata could pass off the dummy and it had given her enough momentum to complete her flip and land on her feet, ready and waiting for Red Horn to make the next move. Now, she knew she had a limited time at this level of power and that she wouldn't get any faster or stronger from here but at least she'd bought Kouta-kun enough time to just go. She had heard his grunts of pain, and had seen the impact he'd felt so it was completely understandable that he might not be in the best condition. But so long as he could keep going, Kata had enough in her to hold Red Horn up. She'd have to apologize to him later though, making him fight her on his own just to let her power up her Quirk she didn't feel was particularly honorable... but at least the plan was working for now. At least they were in the perfect position to execute Stage 2. No matter his injuries, no matter his worry about Kata or the test or Red Horn, Kouta-kun knew he had a job to do. Kata knew that from the moment she'd met him; a true Hero in the making, lacking only in experience and control. Just like her, but far stronger. He would have to be her benchmark, she'd need to get to his level before she got to Year 2. That was her goal, her resolution. Everything was fitting into place in her mind, like a puzzle. She was running the course and could now see the obstacles in her way and as they say, knowing was half the battle. A deep breath would follow her landing, relaxing her tensed muscles as she fell into her combat stance. Bouncing between the balls of her feet, like the stance of so many kung fu movie masters, video game characters, manga characters. To her, it worked, it felt natural, to be always moving at least a little; it kept her Quirk active and it's not like she was worried about exhausting herself considering her Quirk had a hard time limit, as far as she could tell. Sure, it was a bit cheesy looking, but the determined expression on her face would drain any of that otaku flavour. Kata would not let her pass, even if she had to break her own body to do it. Red Horn moved faster than she'd anticipated, gripping that car and hoisting it over her shoulder as a weapon. Yet even with her strength and speed, lifting such a heavy object was enough to allow Kata to react and predict where she was going to strike. With one bound to the side, she'd clear the path of the car, though the impact launched fragments of safety glass in all directions, forcing her to lift her left arm to cover her face, which wasn't ideal. She'd hoped to strike at Red Horn's face again but considering the angle and the fact that she'd been slowed by the flying glass that pelted and scratched her shoulder, leg and arm, she couldn't. Instead, all she could do was make sure Red Horn couldn't use that car a second time in a sweeping motion, because otherwise she'd be out of the fight entirely. The wreckage of crumpled and splintered like it was heavy but made of a soft metal. However that only made it more jagged and dangerous if she were to hit her with it now. Her only option was to use the momentum of her jump to skid and swing her leg around in a sweeping motion and then up under Red Horn's wrist, hoping to either encourage her to let go of the car to avoid the kick or let go of the car as a result of the impact. Whether it hit or not, she twisted her body to make herself a smaller target to hit, trying to return to her previous fighting stance if she could, so she could avoid the blows that were obviously going to be coming her way. Red Horn was clearly a brawler, she'd seen enough of her videos online to see that and she'd need to remember her father's instructions on avoiding punches, forearms and elbow strikes in boxing and muay thai. She only had a limited amount of time and she'd need to make every strike and every dodge count for something. -------- > Quirk is at maximum power and will remain this way for 3 more turns. > Kata voids the car by bounding to the right, though gets pelted with glass shrapnel from the car and has to forgo speed for defense. > Uses the momentum of the jump to swing her leg around and then up under Red Horn's wrist to try and make her let go of the car. > Then tries to fall back into her fighting stance.

To the great surprise of Kouta himself, Kata actually came through with her plan in a flashy way and SUCCEEDED! From his hesitant gaze towards the back, he got to see Redhorn actually recoil from the hit as if it had actually harmed her, figuring that such a sudden, unexpected hit might have just caused her more damage in that one attack than what Kouta did with his "Drill Drop". In just that one interaction that Kata had against Redhorn, the young lad was already taking mental notes of it all. How Mia's durability, though mostly innate, also seemed to work on a basis of "bracing herself for impact". Like, she would still not be exactly down on her defenses if she was hit by surprise, though not expecting to be hit at that point in time would hurt more.
That's what bracing for impact meant. If Kouta could trick her enough times and get those good sucker-punches in to places she just wasn't steeling herself to be hit in, he'd probably be able to inflict more pain on her. Not that he'd actually go and fight just to make her suffer, but because pain is the best way to actually win and that's not just because of damage. Pain taxes a person's mental psyche as well, making them mentally exhausted and, often, violent and reckless, more than what they already are at some times.
If only he could help Kata. If only he could be back there, fighting right next to her instead of having to run away like a damn pansy of a coward! He didn't even have actual aim or a ranged ability that he could shoot out at Redhorn just to buy both of them time. All he could do is run. Run and neer stop. Kata probably knew this. She knew that, the moment she stepped into the ring to pass the victim to Kouta, she'd be all on her own against an enemy that neither of them had any hope of ever defeating.
Even then, why would she put herself in that dangerous situation!? Kouta doesn't mind doing it to himself, since he'll just get back up from whatever is done to him, recover and continue to a new day. Pain's inconsequential to a person like him. Kata.. was Kata like this too? Had she gone through an upbringing so filled with pain that it became accepted and expected? ..Whatever it may be, he just hopes she won't hold any resentment once this inevitably bites her back. The sounds Redhorn made..
She's not going easy anymore.

Kata was quick on her feet she'd give the kid that, and with the weight of the car frame Mia had no intention for her slow and wide arced attack to land, but for her age she had to admit the kid had some skill and clearly had a bit of a bold streak as she dodged around to try and attack Mia's wrist. Briefly she wondered why the risk for such a small blow, the sting in her forearm from the vibrations of the metal, plus the kick, easily answered her question however as Mia released the car. In her mind the car was useless now anyway with how deeply it's impact embedded it in the tarmac, but for an average criminal, Kata may have just removed their weapon. Clever, quick on her feet, and quickly moving to get away from the raging Oni.
She wouldn't make it so easy though.
"Not so fast!" Kata, in her quick footed motions, had dipped around Mia to try and strike her, but that had brought the girl just a hair too close, and, as the old saying goes. Mia had two hands. With her free paw she lunged forward with another step, grasping the back of Kata's clothes, the slight claws of the Oni tearing small holes in the fabric which in this case just embedded her grip deeper into the girl's clothes, wrenching her arm backwards, and hoisting Kata off her own feet with ease.
Mia...almost wanted to say sorry...but she was told to go all out. These kids were heroes...they could handle it."
"RAAAAAAAAAAAARRRGH!"
Throwing her arm forward, all in that same, single, lunging motion, Kata was wrenched backwards into the air and off her feet before she could even attain a full fighting stance, and the blonde beast shoved her back down, forcibly towards the ground. She tried to aim the kid down chest first, the fake Tarmac giving way a little more easily than the true grit of a road, almost like it was rubbery in texture as it broke apart and scattered in various directions from the point of impact, the true floor beneath it definitely holding a lightly cushioned texture to it...but...
Well. No one really describes getting hit in the face with an airbag as a pleasant experience...and this was far, far, FAR worse.
The sound of the impact echoed out even louder than the fake thunder in the arena, and slowly Mia rose up from her strike and let out a heated breath that turned to mist against the rain chilled air of this fake night street. Her sharp red eyes slowly flowed back towards Kouta...the remaining target. She'd glance down briefly to Kata. The girl would still be breathing, but with the impact and her lack of motion, she'd assume the girl was out for the count. With a hefty step forward, but a sort of casual weight to her actions, Mia started to walk away, wrenching a hub cap off of the fake car, and rearing back to throw it like a frizbee.
"Where do you think you're going too!?" With a wide cross of her chest, her bulking arm cut through the air like slamming a log into the water. The hubcap itself was a different story however. With Mia's force behind it, the sound it made was almost like metal scraping metal as it cur through the air much more like a knife and butter, the metal disc soaring towards Kouta at high speeds, aiming to impact with the back of the kid's right shoulder if he didn't make an effort to stop it.
Tldr
Mia took the wrist blow Kata stepped too close, she grabbed her, renched her back, and slammed her into the ground The ground is softer than real ground, but the impact HURTS Grabs a hubcap, tosses it at Kouta like a frizbee

Another hit! She felt her confidence surge, her determined expression giving way to a grin of satisfaction, getting that faint hope for a moment that she could really do it! She could hold off this giant beast of a woman, like a true Hero would. Kata had put everything she had into that wrist strike, figuring Red Horn wouldn't give it up easily and even she, frankly, was surprised it was enough to make her drop it. But she did, and now Kata had another problem. Now she had to dodge. She had to remember her father's training, she had to make sure that not a single one of those strikes would hit her! "E-eh...?"She felt a sudden surge upwards, a weightlessness that she wasn't expecting, like her whole world had just turned upside down. Before she knew what was happening, Kata was in the air, moving far too fast to be able to brace herself for any sort of impact or make Red Horn drop her. Mia had done the one thing Kata didn't expect... go for a grapple. Which, if she was entirely honest, probably was her own fault considering she'd just seen her pick up a car and use it as a weapon. So really she should have seen this coming. But there wasn't much time to think about that now as her momentum changed, suddenly speeding towards the ground faster than she felt like she'd ever moved before. And then... CRACK!Everything went dark. There wasn't any sound anymore, just a slight ringing in her ears. No pain either. But... surely she'd just been hit... shouldn't she be feeling pain? Wait... what was going on? She felt like she couldn't breathe, like her chest was tightening. It hurt but... not in the right way. Like she was going to cry. Why was she here again? Something... about a red horn... and a boy with a cape... and... How much time had passed now? She didn't know. Everything about her felt heavy and she couldn't get up. But she also couldn't feel the ground beneath her, like she was floating in some kind of void. She could see the silhouette of a giant, muscled woman... with a horn. A short boy with a cape. A muscular man with... a backpack on his back? A woman with straight hair and a sword. A woman with a lightning bolt for hair. A girl with a very angular dress. And then someone she recognized... her father. "-ass up!"What? What was he saying? "Get your ass up! You just gonna lie there feeling sorry for yourself!?"She couldn't respond, even though she wanted to. What could she say to him? "I thought you were a Hero! Is this all you can do!? GET UP!"Get up? How could she get up? Where was she? "GET UP!"It hurt. It all hurt. Why did it hurt so much? She pressed her head into the ground, arcing her back as she slid her knees beneath her. The ringing in her ears was getting worse but she could feel the pain in her chest more now. The pain in her everything more now. But it didn't matter. Somehow it just... didn't matter. Her body was moving by itself, like her brain was disconnected from her muscles. Tears poured from her eyes but her expression was dead, like a corpse. Every time she took a breath, it burned, like someone was thrusting a hot knife into ribs but the only thing running through her mind in that moment were the words of her father. The darkness suddenly vanished, she knew where she was now, the feeling of the uncomfortable tarmac beneath her slowly bringing her back to reality... but she didn't know if that was a good thing. What was happening to her? She didn't know. Where was the strength in her limbs coming from? Ah, that's right, her Quirk. The mutation she had been born with. The gift she'd been given. The tool that had been bestowed upon her to help people, to protect them. She didn't know where she was still... but the purpose of her mission returned to her. Save Kouta. Save him. Save the civilian. Save them all. Protect them all. She could hear her father scream again. Kata's hand shot forward suddenly, grasping towards Red Horn's ankle, loud grunting coming from the small girl as she sloooowly pulled herself to her hands and knees, blood dripping from her head, arms and chest. She felt like she wanted to be sick. Everything was turning and swirling around her like a merry-go-round without a speed limit. Her muscles flexed, burning but just barely able to maintain her strength because of the adrenaline that shot through her body. She still couldn't hear anything. She still didn't know where she was. All that mattered... Was stopping her. Her other arm shot out, reaching for the thick muscular leg next to her, trying to wrap both arms around it, burning all of her strength, everything she had, every ounce of power that remained in her body to hold that tree trunk in place. Eyes hazy, she could barely see anything now, like a great grey cloud had descended over her vision. She could see her father's face again. Was he smiling? She hoped he was smiling. Gritting her teeth, she looked up, some semblance of reality returning to her if but for a moment, climbing back from the precipice of darkness she had once found herself in, knees shaking from the effort to hold on to that leg. Just hold on. Please. She begged her body, like it was her last dying wish. Was it her last dying wish? She didn't know. She didn't know what dying felt like. Was this it? Without thinking she looked into the eyes above her, expression turning determined but a very new kind of determined. She almost looked insane, like she had been taken over by some kind of spirit or force. Like she was some kind of zombie. "H-... Heroes... don't... l-lose...!"-------- > Quirk is at maximum power and will remain this way for 2 more turns. > Kata takes the slam and is knocked unconscious, she's not sure for how long. In reality it's about half a second. > She uses what little strength is available to her as she just barely managed to retain her Quirk's activation and attempts to grab Red Horn's leg and slow her down. > She is currently suffering from severe injuries and will need significant medical treatment.

Still running. Ever slowing. If only his body didn't waste so much energy, he wouldn't be leaking it, figuratively, like a broken faucet after sustaining the amount of damage he did in one single harsh throw. It brought to question on what sort of power did Redhorn even have on her to be able to put him in that shitty situation so easily, until he heard a giant crash behind him. A creeping sensation that rushed over his entire body, from the bottom of his arse to the top of the strands of his hairs -- he can't even feel his hair, there ain't no nerves there! And to that, he was HORRIFIED of looking back and see what just happened. Curiosity and the need to actually see it only gave him the worst news possible, a sharp gasp suddenly leaving Kouta's lips, not of pain but of horror, a silent, choked, shocked scream escaping his lips when he saw the terrible figure that she left Kata in. In no time, she had brutalized the poor girl so badly that, for a moment, he thought she had died that very moment. Were it not for her hand desperately holding onto her ankle which really only made Kouta's heart feel even tighter in shame that he wasn't someone stronger who could have made a better plan that wouldn't involve Kata being in so much pain, he might have declared her dead on the spot. " K-Kata.. no..!" The young boy whimpered in saddened horror, finding it difficult to even see her in that situation, with water gathering at his eyes already, the faint glow on those purely white eyes creating a very small rainbow effect. Stronger than his sadness, though, was his outright fury. At himself over being so weak and slightly at Redhorn for not being able to go easier on her. Sure, it'd be an insult to her effort to disrespect her with weakness. Still, though! Was it necessary to go this hard!? " Where am I going?I'M GOING TO WIN!" In the middle of his declaration, the crying Kouta's already slightly corrupted, cavernous voice seemed to turn deeper, outright furiously animalistic in its nature. Even as the hubcap cut through the air at high speeds, his body did not slow at all, still on a full sprint towards the ever closening finish line. If he stopped, he'd throw out all the time Kata was still buying for him, so he'd have to do something he barely ever did. By fully releasing his quirk away from his body, having it stop protecting him, just so that he could feel his unsupported right arm now freely move about while he ran, earning an agonized scream from the guy who could now fully feel the consequences and the damage caused by one single throw by the strongest woman in Japan, if not the entire world. The hubcap itself was faced with a dark entity, made entirely out of the united darkness tendrils that made up his cape, much resembling Kouta's shadow in its flatness, its look and its presence. So unassuming and simple looking yet infinitely complicated. With a split part of itself still tightly wrapped around the "victim" as to not drop it, its arms had a sudden burst of mass, seemingly thickening as the hubcap finally caught up to Kouta - retaliating with a needlessly violent, fury fueled barrage of punches and swipes, its brutal strikes, each and every one of them, individually shredding the hubcap into a pile of pieces so small that they bordered on actual dust. It all had been incredibly excessive, uncharacteristically reckless and emotional from a fighter who did his best to always remain cold. This, though, let him reach his destination. Kouta had crossed the finish line. And with his weakening quirk, his cape quietly wilting away into the light above as it gently laid down the body on the ground while they waited for the "Air E-Vac", its protective tendril being the last thing to fade away, Kouta stepped back slowly to the edge of the finish line. Standing was difficult. Breathing somehow felt labored even though he didn't remember taking damage to his lungs and his dominant arm was gone. His strength had mostly gone away with his cape, his body no longer having the energy to even maintain that heightened state of being, his un-caped body only having a lighter amount of strength. (E Durability and Strength). And yet, he stood. Even if Mia could reach him in time, he would make sure to do Kata proud by fighting her with whatever he had left in his frail body, as to not insult the sacrifice of someone he had just met and fought alongside with, someone who bled just so that he could take them to victory, someone who blindly trusted him with that amount of responsibility. The thing he hates most.. Is to let someone down. So, breathing in, pushing past that labored breathing that troubled him so, Kouta channeled all the rage and renewed determination into one scream. "COME AT ME!
REDHORN!"

Mia grit her teeth as Kouta seemed unphased by the frizbee of metal death she’d flung towards him. With the distance it had to travel it seemed he had enough capacity to knock it aside like it was nothing and start locking the civilian into place for a safe evacuation. Fine. But the game wasn’t over yet. She curled up her stance and lowered herself ready to slam herself forward and cut the distance between them in a single bound, her tusks growing up further over her top lip as she built up her strength for that single moment.
Just as she was about to kick off, the tarmac cracking under her bulging muscle, she felt a hooking grasp around her leg, stumbling forward and barely catching herself on the other foot as her sharp red eyes turned hastily over her shoulder and locked onto the brunette latching onto her calve through the baggy fabric of her costume’s pants. Kata wasn’t down, and in any other situation Mia would genuinely be admiring the way she pushed herself through what must have been almost bone breaking pain… but after taking a blow to the face, a kick to the wrist, her hands stinging with deep friction burns and…
FUCK SHE COULDN’T EVEN WIN AGAINST TWO KIDS!
She shouldn’t be taking this so personally but god DAMMIT! She felt fucking useless that whole operation on the boat! From the moment she set foot on the deck she’d constantly been on the backfoot! She was fighting the environment more than her foes! She’d tried to tell herself it was okay but she had to admit at times the frustration was building! She’d been telling herself if she wasn’t too busy actually saving everyone’s asses with turning the boat and the railgun and…She might have actually took that fucker down! But here was the proof in the pudding! She couldn’t even. Handle. TWO. DAMN. KIDS!
Mia would look back on this moment and question why she even got so mad about something so pathetic…but as her muscles bulged further, the rage seeped into the cracks…
A thick darkness spread out from her eyes, physically cracking the skin around them as it seemed to dry and harden, the skin beyond that turning a harsh, leathery red few got to see across her body, but certainly unusual to set itself in at her eyes like this. She reered herself back, grasping one of Kata’s legs behind her, the red color spreading from her bicep down along her arm and engulfing her hand, Kata likely able to feel just how tight her grasp was, and how dry and coarse her leathery red skin had become itself.
Heroes don’t lose…any other time Mia would have been proud but… right now. It almost sounded like an insult as her failure to take anyone down on that boat seeped back into her brain…!
“YES. THEY. DO!” Her voice boomed out with an almost unnatural echo to it, wrenching back on Kata’s leg so hard Mia may have dislocated the joint in her hip and certainly forced Kata to release her leg. She reared Kata back like a weapon herself, and as a golden glow overtook her eyes and her horn bulged further from her forehead, a monsterous glare locked onto Kouta through the dark, thunder-lit night they were fighting within. Steam seeped off of Mia’s skin as raindrops sizzled the moment they touched her flesh, and with a bellowing roar, the red Oni reared herself forward, flinging Kata over her head as she used the girl like a tool, slamming her foot forward and releasing Kata in one slick motion.
If it weren’t for the harsh sound of her foot crashing through the fake tarmac, Kouta might have heard the clapping sound that emitted as Kata’s body hit the air with such force it’d briefly feel as thick as water.
tldr
Mia tapped into B rank strength took Kata’s leg, flung her like a weapon AT Kouta

Her vision went blurry for a moment, but she forced herself to remain conscious. Through the hurt and pain, including the erupting agony that had begun to sprout in her head from the point of impact, Kata held on. As if it was the only thing tethering her to life. As if it were the only thing anchoring her to this mortal plane. Her breathing was ragged and slow, still with that small taste of blood ever present, a slight wheeze to her exhales like she was a long-suffering asthmatic. Yet she still looked into the demon's eyes, a glassy-ness to her gaze that wasn't there before, like she wasn't all present. Awareness was beginning to return, just as the oni finally woke itself within their opponent. She'd heard tale of this happening to her before, where her skin turned red and her strength increased several times over, like some stereotypical demon. Kata never thought she'd be able to see it herself, nevermind cause it. But it didn't matter. Of course it didn't matter. She'd endure it all to win. To prove the words that she could barely hear from her wrong. YES. THEY. DO! She said. No. No. NO. NO! NO!Her expression suddenly turned to one of fury, digging her nails hard into the crackling, steaming skin of her opponent. She would not let go. Not for one second. Not until the breath left her body. Not until Kouta-kun could win! Kata felt herself being picked up and even then she clung on, scratching and clawing at that leg, flexing every muscle in her body to maintain a hold, even as her vision slipped from haze to something that was way too sharp, like someone had sketched it and washed out the colors. Her world swirled again and in that moment, her fingers slipped, her muscles weakened for just a moment. No! Please! She could see her father there, even through the pouring rain, watching her. He shook his head lightly, disappearing again between the buildings. Her heart lurched into her throat, even as she felt that searing pain from her leg, forcing her to scream in pain and frustration and anger, burning rage for her own failure. Every piece of the road she gripped onto fell away at her fingertips, crumbling into nothing at the face of Red Horn's strength and the previous destruction of the road using her own body. It hurt. Why did it hurt so much? Wait... no, she knew exactly why it hurt so much. In that one, last moment, she had failed. All she could hope was that she had bought enough time for Kouta to get away. The pain continued for what felt like an eternity and her world revolved so violently it was a wonder she wasn't sick. And then she was weightless again, vision shaking and shuddering as if there was an Earthquake. The buildings speed past and she couldn't tell what was the ground and what was the sky, everything swirling and twisting, the sound drowned out by that incessant ringing in her ears. Her head... what was going on? Why couldn't she focus? Why was her sight changing so much? Why did it all feel... not rightIt took an eternity for her to realize what was happening, like time had slowed to a crawl while she moved through the air. Even the warmth seeping from her head and chest seemed to stop, along with the rain. She swiveled her head, in her half-dazed state not sure what she was looking for. And yet when she saw it, she knew she'd found it. Kouta. Ahead of her, seemingly rapidly coming closer but with time stopped like this she couldn't tell. At this rate she'd cost them the exercise... she'd be the reason they failed. She already was, for not being able to hold onto Red Horn. There had to be something she could do. Anything. Anything.A deafening CRACK! Like the sound of a powerful whip echoed through the room, cutting through the rain and even the fake thunder and suddenly Kata was accelerating even faster... to the left! It wasn't a huge direction change, but it was there! Several of the raindrops around her foot and leg vaporized with a loud sizzle, like they'd just been flash-boiled. What had happened? What... what had she done? Her expression was one of terror, blinking even in her concussed state as her brain tried to understand what had just happened. And then, the pain, worse than anything she'd felt before now, like she'd just dipped her leg in molten lava. Like it was on fire. She couldn't help but scream in pain. But her trajectory now was far past Kouta. He could continue saving the civilian. It didn't matter what she'd done, only that she'd saved their efforts. For a moment her smile returned, as she sailed near-motionless past Kouta, like a speeding bullet, before crashing against the far wall of the facility. Luckily the air resistance had naturally turned her, so she took most of the impact with her shoulders but that searing, molten pain in her chest and legs only got worse as she slid down the wall, landing in a heap there. Her eyes flickered, wheezing getting worse by the second. She could hear a lot of noises but she didn't know what they were, her life still drowned out by that deafening ringing, until that one last surge of motion took her. Kata wretched and choked back vomit, coughing violently, but it was enough to keep her awake for a few more seconds. Her arm grasped for the wall, using it to pull herself. First she tried to stand but the screaming pain in both of her legs prevented that, making her curse to herself, only managing to scramble herself slowly into a sitting position, chest heaving as she stared into the rain-covered... sky? Ceiling, she supposed. There, the darkness took her again. And she smiled as she let it. -------- > Quirk is at maximum power, however she is unable to move and is thus in a Crash Period. > Kata is launched through the air towards Kouta. > Something happens, she's not sure what, and she suddenly changed trajectories and sails past him. > She strikes the far wall and uses the last of her consciousness to pull herself into a sitting position with a smile.

The storm had made it all too difficult to even see at their distance by now, with all that Kouta was even able to get was the distant visage of something changing within Redhorn to start creating some serious presence or heat, something that was evaporating the very rain around her. Were he not on the verge of complete and utter collapse, he might have even been able to actually force his vision a bit to look a bit further to get a good look on the action. Instead, his quirk was struggling to even stay on his body, a distinct coldness coming to his fingertips and feet, the darkness that enveloped them having already cracked and crumbled away, into a fine dust that wilted into nothing while falling off.
"..Weird. I can't really - uh.. - hear much anymore." The small guy muttered to himself while observing the lightning bolts that only released deafened thunderclaps, like he was listening from a low volume blown out speaker, figuring that it was nothing, so he shouldn't even try to reach for his ears to see if something was clogging it. In fact, he didn't feel like moving much at all, like he was some sort of new type of tired that, if he even budged an inch, he might just crumble into a pile of rubble.
"..? Kata..! KATA!" Kouta screamed out in horror as he could finally see what was Mia doing when she threw something so fast that it seemed to crack the air itself, the stomp still ringing through his ears when she threw her. Obviously, since she was being thrown at him, the small shadow monster was ready to take the blow with true guts, to catch her and save her from a bad crash, as well as protect the "victim" that was still being put in the E-Vac. However, when Kata was close enough for him to get ready, it wasn't just his fucked right arm that didn't move: none of him moved. His legs that refused to budge to put himself in a better pose to take the impact. His left arm that refused to move to his front so that it could push back against her when she crashed into him. He could moe his head, yet pathetically barely.
His body had long collapsed, in actuality, shortly after he declared his challenge to Redhorn. In fact, as Kata pulled out the last of her strength to do some technique that saved her and him from a head-on collision, Kouta reacted a few seconds later by very slowly turning his head to the side, towards the area where the girl threw herself to. By now, he lost all strength in his lungs to speak. So, after he turned his eyes as back as he could, to see the body going up to the "skies", indicating that it was his victory, the boy sighed, closed his eyes and gently flopped onto his front, peacefully blacking out in his front.
Victorious, at least.

Mia’s breaths burned in her lungs like they were each fighting to get out of her and be replaced by the next in a hurried turnover of oxygen as her system craved it with every second. The golden glow that shimmered across her eyes and the sizzling of the rain against her skin seeming to be somewhat…unregisted by the Oni beast as a whole as she used that poor girl like a projectile, watching her body barrel through the air with a sense of disconnection, as if she didn’t even realize for a fair moment that it was a person she’d just let rip like a fucking beyblade, soaring towards Kouta, another kid she really shouldn’t have been forcing this upon.
Even trying to play the villain…this was too much, and she soon realized it. As the sizzling on her skin calmed, and the red color across her arm receeded to it’s point of origin, Mia’s offensive stance pulled back into a more lax standing position, even wobbling back on one of her steps as both the realization of what felt like a brief blackout hit her, and also the huge crater she’d left behind her from throwing Kata into the floor not helping her footing…
Fuck… she’d really done a number there huh?
As Kouta hit the ground a light wince came through Mia as she wondered if she’d fucked him up just as bad. As far as she was concerned Kata might have actually hit him. The past…what. 5 seconds? Maybe 10? She felt like she was pulling a blank on them as she rubbed her palm against her forehead, her horn slowly receeding as she calmed down, and hissing as the last of the red and black disappeared around her eyes, reaching up to touch the sensitive skin as it returned to normal.
“That’s…new…” She let out… she always knew she had a habit of turning a little ‘red with rage’ whenever she was pushing her limits but…she didn’t even feel tired. She shouldn’t have even started tapping into that shit against these kids and… the fuck was it doing coming out around her eyes? Sure she wasn’t exactly looking at a mirror during her fights but she could tell what it felt like. The dry feeling skin, the way it stung a little as it faded away… “The hell is going on…?”
She rubbed her eyes deeply for a moment, trying to get rid of this lingering tension she felt behind her eyeballs before getting her head back to what was important. The kids. Kouta seemed like he’d just ran out his engine but…yeesh. Kata. Mia stamped her foot loud enough to get attention from the people running this little experimental trial, cupping her hands around her mouth and calling out to the walls around them. “OI! BRAINIACS! Game’s over if you hadn’t noticed! We gonna get these kids some medics or what!” Of course, she’d find out later they were all too busy taking notes on the simulation to even really register the damage Mia had done but… fuck. At least this wouldn’t get out to the press given it’d be bad PR for them too…
