Having recently finished developing a new high end training facility, and wanting to really put it to the test before implementing regular training simulations, a high end company trying to latch itself onto the hero community while it was in it's infancy had offered its services to the government for a free trial period. They had no formal 'simulations' of their own in place yet, but impressed with the facilities they provided, the hero association was quick to turn to UA school to try and find suggestions from their skilled teachers, and their studnets in training. In part, this was also in the hopes that using students first would give the facilities a 'baby's first trial run', as a full squad of genuine pros could be a little much for the facility to handle, and the students would be able to provide data that could improve it before moving onto full pros. Now, the question still existed in what to do with these facilities. The Teachers had initially intended that the lessons be run by some of their own number, but by request of the Hero association, be it as a PR move or simply to change the normal flow of the student's expectations, had made their own request...The students who had been chosen for the course were informed simply. Tuesday of the following week, their last two lessons of the day would be replaced with a trip to this training facility. A teacher would not be accompanying them, but an official government chaperone would be driving them to their destination as a group, and informing the school when they arrive. They were to be taking part in a Civilian rescue exercise, with little more information to go on till the day of. Hopefully, they weren't made too antsy by the wait... =============== Day of the Lesson ===============
As the young heroes in training were driven in a sleak black car to their destination, a large dome shaped facility far out at the edge of Tokyo city, they were guided inside by their chaperone in a black suit and shades, before being handed off to a rather excited young girl, with scales for skin and a pronged tail swaying behind her, a lanyard with an employee card hanging from her neck, and the logo of the company 'Saikyuen' (a portmanteau of the japanese words for disaster and rescue) across her breast pocket. "Helloooooo!~" She chimed out, a flick of a reptillian tongue slipping between her lips. She seemed not much older than the students she was working with, handing each of them a small I-pad like device, though it seemed both oddly more disposable, yet more 'upscale' in an odd manner. Like someone had spent way too much money to make a resteraunt menu look cool. "Welcome to Saikyuen industries. We're so excited to have you all testing out facilities today. The hero asigned to your lesson is waiting for you inside but she-Oop!" She put a hand to her mouth, sighing in defeat. "Dammit. Two days in a row..." She sighed softly and continued. "S-she OR he." She pathetically tried to save that. "Has requested to remain a surprise for you both. Please read your forms and follow me." Her tongue flicked out again. She pulled out a small clicker device, and with a press of the button the pads the kids had been handed shimmered to life. A brief disclosure form, terms of agreement, all that jazz that they would politely be asked to sign as the lizard girl guided them to their facilities. With their forms signed, she'd pass through a large set of double doors with them. The floor was lit by a small set of service lights along the floor, none of the illuminated more than 5 feet around them. The faint outlines of buildings could be seen in the otherwise pitch black room, some lamposts, maybe vehicles? But in such darkness they looked like they could just be mundane props, like an old western town, just wood propped up with sticks. Or it could be much more, it was hard to tell. The lights led to a circle surrounding a dummy made of wool and cotton, about the size of a child, likely weighing less. The fabric seemed durable, but not impossibly strong. "So, if you'd turn your eyes to the forms." She flicked her tongue out again and hit the clicker. The pads now showed a long empty street, one recognizeable from centrial tokyo where the buildings didn't reach more than 4 stories, night lit. There was an image of the dummy they could see, and also of a power station. "Your simulation will be a riot night in central tokyo. A villain will be between you and emergency services. You need to make sure your civilian reaches those emergency services. Containment of the villain is not your priority, the civilain is." She nodded firmly. "Be warned, the riot has reached local power facilities, so the cities power may be affected sporadically." She'd gesture to the dummy. "When you're ready, approach the starting circle. Once both of you stand in it, you will have a half minute to rapidly come up with a plan of action before tackling the scenario ahead of you. Good luck.~"

Kouta had just gotten out of his shower after a big day of training and making sure that his homework was quite ahead, still holding his rubber ducky that he liked to squeeze and giggle at when he saw something pop up on his phone on the desk, close to the bathroom door. Though it usually wasn't really disallowed, using one's quirk outside of the training facilities was slightly frowned upon, and yet, Kouta chose to use his quirk in very minimal ways. Like transforming himself just a little bit, about enough so that a tendril from his cape could form, so that he'd have those extra meters of range, beyond his arms at least, using it to wrap around his phone and bring it to him, so that he could read the notification while his hands were busy with the towel drying himself, rubbing his messy, thick pink hair, muttering the words to himself.
"Next tuesday.. am invited to some new training? A new facility opening up? Huh. Well, at least I get the time free from classes, so I don't have to worry about absences. ..Guess I can work with the time too." Indeed, thanks to the time that they gave him to adjust his tight schedule that only got tighter after his spar with Redhorn, instead of being left antsy by the wait, he instead fully appreciated it, moving things around so that he could remain on track without losing anything. What he ended up deciding on was that, for the rest of the week, he'd train even harder than before, take the sunday and monday easier and be on top shape for tuesday.
Thankfully, everything was uneventful until that day.
The actual trip was much more difficult for the teen who, in the presence of government officials and his "testmate", felt much more like a small child. In the literal and figurative sense, actually. Ever nervous around that amount of authority and uncomfortable with that sort of "pro and official" atmosphere, the boy barely noticed the huge dome that was coming into view until they actually made it there, guided inside by the chaperone.
The young girl did leave him a bit more calm, though still horrified all the same. Now his only worry was of not knowing if the one in front of him, whom he guessed to be older than him, was stronger than him. If she was, which was very much likely at that point, he would have no way of defending himself if she actually made his paranoid fears a reality and suddenly got aggressive towards him. It was a sad state of affairs and now he really was kicking himself mentally over not taking the extra dose of his meds, just like the doctors told him to do if things ever got too bad.
(Sure, he has meds specially for that "extra need", but still.)
Listening closely to her explanation, occasionally gazing down at the weird I-Pad she gave him and the person next to him, he had been drawing plans up, immediately so, to figure out possible routes he could take to save the dummy. He knew that a female hero would be playing the villain - a fact that the poor Saikyuen worker failed to hide - so, in his mind, he ran through plans for all sorts of plans for the female heroes he knew. Like how he would fight Hachi directly if it came to it, since she matched him in speed. How he'd outmaneuver Junko and outspeed her if she was the one assigned to fight them - probably play dirty as well, since she never struck him as the sort to be really prepared for those.
..Redhorn is female, though. Also the female hero he had the most experience with. The plan for her? Run and pray, because there's no way he is actually outpacing that huge beast. Maybe in an extended run, one that wouldn't be possible in this stage. BESIDES! It's not like he could take longer routes and turns to outspeed her, since he knew damn well that, in terms of mobility, not sheer speed, she outranked him quite hard, as well as an extended run would have him exhausted way before her.
If he took her directly, there'd be no way to win if she went all out. He lost when she didn't, he had no hope to actually do it. Likely to have no hope even with the help of the girl that came with him. Speaking of the girl. "Hey, uh.. I'm Itsuki Kouta, from the Support Studies! I'm very pleased..? ..hm. --very happy to meet you! What's your name?" Kouta asked, nervously fiddling his fingers behind his back, way too sorely aware that he had completely fucked up on the introduction.

Kata could feel the fire in her soul burning hotter than it had ever done before. Clearly someone had seen her potential and specially requested that she be at this new training facility and exercise, considering not everyone from her class had been invited. That put a lot of pressure on her but to be honest, she was relishing the challenge. After all, the higher the wall, the higher she needed to climb to overcome it. She had no intention of letting this exercise go to waste. The whole car ride over to the facility, Kata maintained her wide grin, staring out the window in awe at the large building. New, impressive, certainly designed for the pros, not for students. The fact that they were letting students use it either meant they had every confidence it was going to succeed and wanted the PR or thought of the students as disposable. Neither felt very right to Kata but dwelling on such an idea wasn't exactly going to change their intentions. She'd just have to show them that the students of UA were the bright sparks of the future! She had been training extra hard right up until the day-of and had even considered asking them to let her run there instead of taking this car but the risk of her getting lost or pushing her Quirk too hard before they even began was too great. Best to save it for when she actually got there. Her thoughts turned to Red Horn and their previous meeting. She could feel the woman's expectations on her shoulders, that desire to see the next generation to succeed. It came across even if Red Horn hadn't specifically said it; she wanted the students to surpass her one day. After all, wasn't that the purpose of UA? Maybe this training is her first step towards that goal... and if not, it'll at least tell her how far she needs to go. -------- The introduction was a flurry of words and colors and modern office styling. Kata listened intently to the woman but found herself a little distracted by her cool scales and other lizard features. It made her wonder about her own Hero aesthetic; all she had was a very simple outfit reminiscent of an MMA fighter, because that's what she thought looked cool. But if she was going to inspire someone... she needed something more striking. Something more Hero-like. She asked herself the question, one she had asked many times before... Just who is Cross-Fit? No time to think about that now. She had a duty to perform; to give this training match her all. The lady seemed to slip that their opponent was female, an honest mistake considering she was probably really excited about this opportunity, just like Kata was! After all, who wouldn't be excited about a facility like this and being able to work with some of the best pro heroes in the world? She took a deep breath, her grin ever-present as the lady explained more about the training and handed them forms to fill out. Kata had expected paper forms like they used in UA, not these really high-tech tablet devices, so she struggled a little to sign her name without making a mess of her signature. Still, she was sure they'd be fine. She gave her consent regardless, no matter what happened. In the darkness, the makeshift city looked just that; makeshift, as if it were made of some kind of plaster or wood. She was sure it would look better in the light though, after all a wood building wasn't going to stand up to the immense pressures of a real life Hero situation. So the civilian had priority here, not beating the villain... sounded pretty typical of the theory they'd been taught in class. Protecting the populace and rescuing civilians was always priority number one. Not really her specialty, since she only had a limited time to use her Quirk, unless she kept it under control, which doesn't grant her full strength and speed. Essentially she felt like she'd specialize in quick one-on-one hostage rescue or preventing the villains from hurting more of the population. But that was something she'd need to work on... once she figured out how to control her Quirk better. "Kouta...? Ah! You must be Kouta-kun! We met on the U.A. chatroom, you told me that Red Horn visits the school sometimes! Thanks to that I was able to meet her, thanks!" Her aggressive yet infectious positive nature poured forth, her grin friendly and amiable. Once again, her lack of social fear was probably unsettling to most, yet no one could ever say she was unwilling to talk to someone. "I'm Katahime Taisou! Pleasure to meet ya! We gotta give it out all Kouta-kin, you with me?" She held out her hand for a fist bump, her grin becoming determined and fired up, ready for what came next. So once they stepped into the circle they'd have 30 seconds to formulate a plan... Kata decided to use the time they had now before that countdown officially started. "My Quirk gives me extra strength and speed for a time but if I stop for a while or exceed my limit, my muscles get sore and stiffen up. So I gotta keep moving! What's yours? We can strategize better if we know each other's strengths and weaknesses, y'know?"

(given you guys are purposely avoiding starting the countdown, my own post is gonna be a little short)
Mia had gotten to the facility a good hour ago, and this was her second day on the trot running one of these simulations for the kids of UA. A surprise they had in store for her this time though was the names of the two kids she’d be facing in this odd little trial run of the facility. Unlike last time where Mia sadly didn’t have personal experience of any of the 3 kids, she personally knew Kouta and Kata…well. To some extent. Her experience with Kata had the girl declaring her their rival before collapsing forward. Apparently a side effect of her quirk. Kouta on the other hand had an odd wild streak when using his quirk, but without it active he came off far more timid and anxiety ridden.
It was an odd batch. Both could present extremely high energy, but in a way, that was to the detrement of both of them in their own unique ways. All the same…she was definitely looking forward to this.
Neither of them had as high practical test scores as that kid Kaz from yesterday’s group, but Mia knew this shouldn’t be as hard for them either. Unlike the rather extreme flooded city simulation the other day, this one was going to be a lot more simple, but with only two kids working against her, perhaps even more difficult in it’s own unique way…
Putting the files to one side, one of the interns working this whole little shebang on the personal front dipped their head in to give her the sign to go ahead. The whole room outside was still dark enough that it’d be impossible to make her out. The two students likely just hearing an idle creak of one of the doors set into the design of the surrounding walls, and a light metallic clank as it swung itself shut, Mia smirking idly to herself, able to see each of them lit up by the small service lights on the floor, watching them play the system a little by trying to get some extra planning done.
A light ‘beep’ came from her earpiece for only her to hear.
“We’ll be starting the timer if they take too long. Don’t worry.”
Mia put her fingers to the earpiece and gave a brief. “Aight. Don’t rush ‘em too much…but don’t keep me waitin’ either.~”

Right from the gates, Kouta was hit with that overwhelming wave of hyped, amped up excitement and positivity. That unbound energy from the girl who, once she introduced himself, had the boy remember that she was that nice person that reminded him of Shouko. Turns out that she actually did get to meet Redhorn thanks to his advice -- a little thing that made him proud beyond words. Always feels nice to be helpful and be, if just partly, responsible for someone else's joy. To this effect, with her influence, his anxious mannerisms washed away, figuring that someone new like her wouldn't be stronger than him, allowing the boy to be completely relaxed around her.
"Oh, Kata-chan! Of course I'll give it my all, I gotta try this new style that Redhorn told me to try!" The boy happily piped up, giving her that fistbump that solidified their new, quickly-created friendship. Their compatibility in personalities really showed itself, really just because her energy was that contagious, even remaining hyped up while she explained her quirk. It gave her positives similar to Kouta's, though a good bit more restrictive and demanding. Physically, at least. Surely her quirk doesn't whisper mean stuff into her head. "My quirk gives me similar stuff! It turns me into this bad guy that goes super fast and can fight with a strong cape! If I get distracted or too weak willed, it'll influence me too much and I will get super mean so I say and do stuff that villains do."
Translating his innocent manner of speech, what his quirk did to him was corrupt his mind if he became too weak. Thanks to this corruption he, once at least, told Feng that he'd gut her to bits after he found himself losing a simple friendly spar. That was when he first started practicing martial arts, as a way to hone both mind and body. Lately, it hasn't been that bad, though the effects are still felt. Like how he wanted to tell Shouko to go bother someone else while she tried to give him pointers during their friendly bout. All around bad vibes.
So, to show his quirk to her, as well as to prepare himself for the fight they had ahead, the young Kouta stepped away from Kata, turning his face to look directly at the starting spot, considering possible plans he could do that would include her. While he did this, he allowed the void in his eyes to escape, allowing it to violently swirl around his entire body, covering him from head to toe. Not a single spot in him was left untouched. Soon enough, as a dark blue glow seemed to flow from his eyes to his entire body through what looked to be a network of veins or nerves, a cape of flowing darkness sprouted and grew from his neck, draping down and covering his entire body, controlling his quirk as to not have that cape grow so much it'd hit the ground. "This is my quirk. Let's go, Kata-chan!"
They spoke their plan with each other in secret. It was pretty simple enough and, as expected, the first step was to have Kouta do the first contact against the "villain". To that effect, the young boy was the first one to step out of the starting area, slowly walking down the main street, not caring to use stealth or subtlety. Of course, the purpose was to be seen, to be the first and main target of whoever he was about to fight. His new method of fighting would surely help slow his enemies down.
"Alright, come on out! You can still make things right and turn your life around! Surrender yourself and you'll surely be spared!" For a first impression, though he knew that a villain in a simulated situation would never actually surrender to a diplomatic approach, Kouta still felt like he should act heroic and serious, even if it was just an exercise. Not only would taking things not seriously and goofing around be really disrespectful for the organizers, the hero and Kata, but.. Maybe he was being graded. And his grades will only range from decent to perfect. That's how he works.

Her friendly fist-bump went off without a hitch, always a great sign. Kata was well aware that her overwhelming positivity had an entirely unintended negative effect on people at times, so to be able to spark a new, promising friendship from just the first few words and actions was always a boost to her confidence. In the same vein, she could almost feel how relaxed Kouta-kun had become around her, as if he shared that energy and positive attitude, even in the face of potentially overwhelming odds.
His Quirk seemed similar to hers, though with a twist. That was good, at least then she knew how the two of them would roughly work. She could tell from his body language that he was a lot more experienced in combat than she was and was used to moving his body quickly... and in her mind she started formulating a plan. Not usually like Kata to be the one planning, yet she knew that whoever their opponent was, rushing in and fighting even a two-on-one battle was unlikely to go well. Even if their Quirks were exact counters to the Pro Hero... natural advantages of age, height and weight probably turned it in their favour.
Her mind cast itself back to her father's fights during his Olympic training. She hadn't been born yet, but she'd seen the tapes, even when her father told her not to watch them. The thought process behind a fight was just as important as the actions. Being able to out-think your opponent and be a step ahead could mean the difference between life and death. Quite literally. She remembered a fight her father had done while suffering from a cramp in his right calf. He knew he was effectively fighting on a single stable leg but all he had to do was outlast the opponent; fight until they tired themselves then hit them hard enough that they can't recover.
She generally wasn't much of a thinker, especially when it came to theory tests. Her strength just wasn't in her brain... but fighting was in her blood. Fighting was instinct to her. From the moment she could walk and hold conversations her father had trained her to fight. Kata knew what she had to do. She'd be relying on Kouta for most of it... but this wasn't about personal glory, this was a rescue mission.
Kata exclaimed in surprise as Kouta transformed, grinning as she watched the super interesting visual change and the growth of that awesome cloak. He looked like a villain; which only served to highlight just how important it was that Kouta was a Hero. With a Quirk that looked like that... it had to be tough to get people to believe in him. She resolved to help him however she could! "That's super cool, Kouta-kun! You look badass!" Her infectious optimism bled forth again, though tinted with a certain determination; a fire she had shown during her first encounter with Red Horn. That blazing intensity that showed just how strong her heart was.
She began doing knee-lifts to exercise herself, her heart slowly but surely beginning to pump harder, faster. "Kouta-kun... I think I have a plan..." Just as the timer started, she spoke quickly, in a hushed tone, still doing her various warm-up exercises to get a head start on powering up. As soon as the sound blared out at the beginning of the fight, Kata hoisted the dummy onto her shoulders in a fireman's carry, sprinting as fast as she could in the opposite direction to take a detour around the nearest building and weave between the side streets. She knew what her role was here and so did Shouta; she could hear his challenge to the villain in question.
The timing of this plan would be important. Having never actually seen Kouta-kun fight, she was only guessing and hoping that he had as much fighting prowess as she thought he did. Against any Pro-Hero a student was going to struggle... but she didn't need him to win. She just needed him to buy her time. Time enough that she could execute her part of the plan. Her strategy was simple and had been hastily constructed from speculation and intuition but a lot of the time that's all Hero's had to work with. Five seconds of planning and understanding the layout of their battlefield and their compatibility with another Hero, then dealing with issues as they arose.
The buildings felt endless. She knew roughly where she had to go considering the map they had been shown, yet the sharp corners were making it difficult to maintain a consistent speed. It didn't matter though. In a real situation like this, she'd need to do everything in her power to get this civilian to safety and limit damage to the surroundings. Her own personal comfort was dead last on her list of priorities. Kata felt lucky this was only a single rescue target... their Quirks didn't seem to fit saving multiple people at once. Especially since they both seemed to be physical boosters; even if Kouta's did have a cooler look to it than hers. Another sharp corner into a side street. Terrible sense of direction or not, she knew it didn't quite matter what path she went down, so long as she was moving West. That's where the exit was and where part 2 of the plan would be enacted.
She could only hope Kouta-kun was safe...

As the two young heroes approached the dummy, the timer began... 30 seconds...A gentle yet clear voice sounded throughout the room's speaker system. The service lights around the two rapidly began to blip out, removing the small corridor of lights they'd had from the dummy they were charged with protecting to their entrance point. The sprinkler system turned on bit by bit, a small trickle of fine liquid falling from the ceiling. Not thick and heavy like a sprinkler system for a real fire persay, but fine and present, like a calm rain on an evening walk home. There was a firm 'clack' noise, one after the other as fans built into the room's walls turned on one by one, creating a strong yet easily conquerable wind to give the sprinkler's fake rain a more real effect of it being blown in the wind. 20 seconds...A loud clack sound once again, and a set of red and blue lights started to flash from the opposite end of the room to the kids, vaguely silhouetting a strong, tall looking figure. Her features were impossible to discern, but with the accompanied sound effect of a siren in the far distance, the kids were given the impression easily that this fake emergency response set up was their final destination. Had to get the civilain to safety afterall. The sounds were never overpowering, but ever present in the back of their minds, their goal always audible even if they couldn't see exactly where the source of these lights were, representing police and ambulance far down the street. The figure shifted slowly, the dark silhouette approaching the side of the road, and another thick figure they could barely make out in the darkness. They could hear the sound of metal creaking. 10 seconds...
Another loud clack as the thick, heavy duty lights turned on across the ceiling little by little, lighing up the fake street they would be running though to their destination. The internal lights of the hollow buildings coming with them to create the impression of semi abandoned buildings, or some civilains held up in the safety of their stores as chaos roamed the streets. None of the fake silhouettes against the windows, or tiny, audible murmurings from within would give the young heroes the impression the fake hustle and bustle needed rescuing too, but it all came together to create a fairly realistic simulation...relatively speaking. Lights halfway across the room turned on. There was a hefty sound of wind, like it was being oddly displaced. The figure in the distance still shrouded in shadow seemed...larger. Something was shifting around them now, and with another sound of creaking metal, the object they had been spinning about them was thrown into the air. Another loud clack and more lights turned on, and the two students would see a car soaring towards them through the air, coming down into a hard crash on it's side, flipping over twice before skimming along the ground, seeming to lose almost no momentum as sparks started to fly from it's metal carcass scraping along the ground as it rushed towards them. Should they dodge, it would impact the back wall of the room with enough force to give them the impression it had all the weight of a real car. From behind her attack, Mia finally was revealed as the last of the moon-imitating lights came on. She was wearing her hero costume. She was given the option of a villain set, but she knew this kids, and she wanted to face them as she was. Without hesitation she rushed in behind the car she'd thrown, her body low and her tusks holding up a wide grin as she locked eyes with the two kids beyond the car she had thrown towards them, ready to take them on as she rushed towards them at a breakneck pace, almost out-speeding her own projectile! "HERE WE GO KIDS! Time to play hero!"
The gentle voice of the sound system sounded one last time as a crackle of thunder sounded in the distance.
Simulation start. Good luck heroes.~
tldr simulation sets itself up Mia tossed a car through the air towards them. it crashed a good distance before reaching them but would continue to skim along the ground until it hits the back wall of the room. Mia rushed in behind the car, breaking the distance between them Map i.imgur.com/ZS1jzpJ.png?1

The walk forward earned him nothing but the forming silhouette's anger, apparently, since they started spinning something around themselves from rather far away, only to throw it directly towards him and Kata who, by now, was on her way to slink into the streets for their plan to commence. This meant that Kouta was the one who would face this, all by himself, at least until she got to them. It also meant that he couldn't fight himself to exhaustion, since he'd need enough speed to jet in a straight line towards the end. After all, it might just happen they have no chance of defeating a hero.
Still, a car being flung like that, as the boy had noticed boy now, was no mean feat, signifying the presence of a power-type sort of "villain". It flipped twice, quickly enough, though not so fast that he wouldn't react. Every time he used his quirk and even when out of it, he had that unnatural sort of reaction speed needed for his body to move so fast while being able to see everything around himself. To stop this car, he'd either have to dodge it and let it keep going, which would be a terrible thing for a hero to do, since it'd be a danger to any stragglers that could pop out of any place or, like he knew he'd have to do.. stop it.
"This excessive first attack, it feels like it came from one person I know." Hissing to himself, he rushed forward to meet the car, his quick-acting mind finally snapping back to real time, his legs moving in an almost blur, not the sudden shift in speed he liked to pull off for first attacks but, instead, to not waste too much energy in doing one simple action. Where his cape wrapped around his arms and thickened towards the hands, giving it that extra cover while he met the car in a direct collision. Kouta is, indeed, much lighter than the car that was sliding through the ground. He is, however, much stronger than one would assume of someone of his stature, seen as how, upon their first collision, the car harshly bent from the impact, broken off pieces of its chassis and cracked splinters of its innards flew out around him, his feet digging into the asphalt hard enough to uproot and crack a good bit of it.
It went nowhere else, however. In a few moments, through his effort, he stopped the car dead in its tracks and left it appropriately trashed in the ground, at which point, he looked directly at Redhorn. He noticed her while the car still flew, though he had to focus on the most important bit of it. "You'll regret not taking my deal, REDHORN!" Much bolder than their first fight, Kouta got taken by the objective and vibe of the entire place, as well as his immense desire to not be a hindrance to Kata, deciding to rush directly at Redhorn after taking care of the projectile. By that point, the cape had wrapped around him like an armor, only loose tendrils dragging behind him.
For some reason, he wasn't going even half his top speed, to a point where the Oni would get the first strike!

By the time the car had been thrown, Kata had already ducked into the side alleys with the dummy, realizing at a moment's notice that someone who resorted to throwing a car as a projectile probably didn't have a great deal of ranged capability. If they could divide the villain's attention, they might just stand a chance of completing their objective. All Kata had to do was keep running, to push her Quirk as hard as she could so they could execute stage 2 of the plan! She could already feel her heart begin to pump like a strong engine, her muscles relaxing and then suddenly tensing hard, as if they were steel cables given slack and then pulled taught. Kata knew this feeling all too well, the familiar feeling of growing power and speed, of suddenly being able to push herself harder and harder towards her goal. The first few times it happened, she stumbled and fell, back when she was a child... but it was all natural to her, as if the adrenaline spreading through her body was making her mind sharper, more focused. The surprisingly hefty dummy was slowing her down but the added weight was more than compensating for the loss of speed, in fact she could feel the build up in her muscles occurring a little faster than usual. Perhaps this could be a new training technique, running while lifting weights... no, running with weighted clothing, like in the manga she always read! A part of her wondered if she was just being childish or naive, yet she had heard stories in History class about ancient Chinese masters using ankle weights to train, so maybe there was something to it. After all, those stories couldn't just come from nowhere, right? There had to be some basis for them, otherwise they wouldn't have said it... Oh right, the training exercise! She blinked a few times, clearing her head and focusing once again on the task at hand, just in time to heard the crunch and shattering of metal and glass that was the thrown car. Frankly she hoped that hadn't been the first KO of the night, because as much as she figured she had an advantage fighting in smaller spaces due to her more slight frame, she suspected that alone, this fight would be nowhere close to winnable. The voice she heard sounded familiar but through the thick concrete walls of the streets, she couldn't make it out clearly. It was only when Kouta shouted the name of their assailant that she confirmed her suspicions. Redhorn! Good, this is my chance to prove myself as her rival! But first, she had to stick to the plan. She could hear the founds of loud footsteps and fighting going on to her right, which meant she was only about a street deep into the thicket of concrete forest, yet she couldn't see any way to go deeper to avoid detection, so she would just have to hope that plus Kouta-kun's distraction was enough. She skidded around a corner, crouching deep and low into the slide to maintain as much momentum as possible, only to have to do it a second time only a few steps later to get around an oddly placed building. Just a little more. A little more and she'd be ready to help Kouta-kun and prove to Red Horn that she was a worthy Hero. A little more and she could make good on that promise the two had made before in front of the training ground. She wasn't at her full power yet and even at her full power there was no way she could beat Red Horn in a fight. But in a battle, a true Hero only has one option; fight to protect! Fight until their legs give out! Fight even after their legs give out! Until they give their last breath! Even if they have to use their body and soul as a shield! Even if they have to give up everything they have and everything they wanted to achieve! That was the duty of a Hero. And Kata was good at living up to her duty.

Watching the car she'd chucked come to a firm halt, Mia had to say it was a small thing, but it was impressive all the same, and as she continued to barrell down the street like a charging rhino, she was eager to see what kind of challenge Kouta could give her now that he didn't have an easy 'off switch' to their encounter. There was no easy way to say he just backed out, and with this fake civilian on the line, maybe he'd be willing to push himself a little further. As he approached her she felt certain she could see he was being a little slower than their last encounter...
Heh. Clever. Drawing Mia in so the other kid could rush away with the civilian. Nice act of self sacrifice...
Hope he was sure he could handle it.
With a hop off the ground with her last step, Mia's body turned sideways into Kouta, her feet skidding along the harsh tarmac of the simulation room. Mia grit her teeth, tusks peering out over her top lift and rearing back her furthest arm, clenching her muscles tight in a right angle arm before throwing all her momentum and weight towards Kouta, aiming for his gut in an uppercut punch. "WHY WOULD I SURRENDER TO YOU!?~" She roared out, trying her best to play the villain role to the max.
If she managed to land the blow, she'd throw a good chunk of her might directly through Kouta's relatively soft gut, knocking him skyward a good few meters and following him with her red eyes. She'd take a few steps back, watching him in the air, carefully ready to react to whatever move he took.
If her attack where to have missed, cutting through the air like the thickest knife through the sloppiest butter, she suddenly spun about on her heel, and attempted to slam Kouta's shoulder with the back of her other fist, her tight muscle and hefty bones making each blow he could land hold the weight of rebarb enforced concrete.
tldr Mia clashed with Kouta, tried for an uppercut punch if it lands, she steps back and watches his next move If it mises, she spins quickly, and tries to do a full spin back-hand fist slam

Kouta had eventually grown to understand Mia's fighting style a lot more than before after their first fight. That great memory of his kept repeating it over and over again within his brain, like an outsider looking into a big screen from as many perspectives as he could imagine, all for the sake of understanding just what was the secret that the woman used to be just so damn tricky and efficient, even though her hits were as technical as the common, untrained man. His conclusions came to simple, raw experience that the woman had on her belt. Since the only real explanation could be experience, he did what any respectable person would do and stalked every footage and recounting of her encounters, both in Japan and America (where she actually came from, of that he was not aware), where he learned several things.
Yes. She already has more than enough experience with speedy, well-trained types to know how to circumvent her failings and shortcomings. If he tried what he tried last time where he'd out-technique her and slam her with the best shots possible, he'd just get himself pounded all over again. If he did his on-the-spot thinking like he did when he used his cape to slam her down, which it had worked, he could have a greater chance not of winning, but delaying her long enough for Kata to come back.
And to impress her. If he impresses her, he gets more headpats.
With his quick analysis done, his pearly white, glowing eyes read her actions quite easily, seeing that winded up punch coming almost from a mile away, though he already expected that, if he dodged that in his typical "martial artist" way, she'd follow up with something that would catch him. Instead, thinking fast the moment she went for that uppercut, the young boy pushed his right foot against the ground in front of him, a very short hop taking him just back enough for that fist to whizz right past him. It wouldn't end there since, as the fist was whizzing by, tendrils, flowing within their mysterious darkness, shot out towards her arm, tightly wrapping around her wrist, down to her elbow - they felt incredibly weird, like a mix of velvet, skin and some other polymer that she wouldn't even identify and they sure liked to squeeze tight to her flesh and they refused to let go. For now.
"It was the only way to come out of this without a spankin'." Oh dear, now he was even talking like her. The tendrils that wrapped around Mia stretched for as long as she'd do that uppercut, at which point they'd suddenly grow very tense, with Kouta quickly attempting to "call them back" to him. This, however, could not happen: the tendrils had so tightly wrapped around her forearm that, instead, it created something akin to a rubberband effect, snapping back to its "shortest form" not by coming back to Kouta but by bringing Kouta back to itself, shooting the student towards the sky, upward and above her, the tightened tendrils harmlessly unwrapping and releasing, as if they hadn't just locked themselves to her.
She'd backfist the air, a slam that would surely have caught him if he simply attempted to back away.
"NOW SUFFER THE CONSEQUENCES!" No time could be wasted before the strike, lest Mia react faster than he could move and dodge him. His arms spread out, something along of a T-Pose, an unneeded move that only helped his mind concentrate on what it was about to attempt - by using his flight and uncanny speed, all he needed as a small wind up to the left before his body initiated a rapid spin upon its own axis to the right, raising such harsh winds to the point it'd raise dust from the ground itself and around himself, at the exact time he shot down towards Mia, at an angle, feet first, a dust trail very much looking like a rocket's smoke behind him, so that he'd still catch her if she attempted to back away. If he was right about his assumptions, she would be a tad bit too sluggish to get her very broad-shouldered body to the side to dodge him.
Should he hit, the consequential strike, even if blunt by nature, would very much feel like a bone-crushing stab in the place he hit, a thud that very much sounded like metal bashing against metal, one so loud that it'd very easily echo throughout the entire facility, very much right into Kata's ears, surely leaving her wondering just what was going on.
Should he not hit, of course, he'd crush the asphalt below him with such intensity that rubble would violently project itself anywhere it could reach - definitely points off of the hero score for property damage but.. can't follow ALL the rules. Otherwise, where's the fun?
Summary:
Kouta dodged Mia's strikes by wrapping his cape around her arm and using it to slingshot himself up
Then tried to come back down with a drill drop against her to cause damage and be cool

She was getting faster. Everything was starting to come into sharper focus, like the adrenaline was clearing her head, driving her heart onward like a thundering drum. Her ears filled with the sound of it working. Boom boom. Boom boom. Muscles tensed for a moment then relaxed, expanding slightly as they filtered oxygen through them faster than before, body heat rising as the rush of blood through her system caused an expansion of her blood vessels. It was a very tangible power growth, nearly invisible to others but to her she could feel every detail. Every little thing that improved, everything that began to run at maximum efficiency. But she wasn't at her peak yet, not even close, only half way there. Kata settled into a rhythm for her running, trying to get the most out of every step, springing forward and bounding across the rain-soaked ground. The less contact she had with the floor, the less chance she had of slipping, the muscles in her thighs feeling like coiled springs as they launched her forward. Frankly, she never felt more alive than when she was using her Quirk to it's fullest, really letting the floodgates go, letting her reach her full potential. She could see where the street turned into a road intersection ahead, knowing she was starting to fulfill her end of the plan. Kata simply hoped Kouta-kun was doing fine in his clash with Red Horn. The sounds were not exactly encouraging, considering the loud crash of the car; if it had taken him out immediately then it meant she was being hunted. A demon in the shadows behind her, ready to pounce. But that was the thing, they were behind her, which meant she just had to keep going forward! The voices she heard were much more encouraging, with Kouta's much deeper Quirked voice cutting through the relative silence and Red Horn seemingly falling into her character. That was good. The more she heard of that, the more she knew the first stage of their plan at least was working and that they still had a fall-back. So long as he could keep Red Horn's attention for long enough, Kata could either get away herself with the civilian or assist her comrade. There was no doubt in her mind she wasn't as fast as Red Horn, considering her stride was so much larger and her muscles were probably six times the size and power. Just from looking at him earlier she could see that Kouta was more of a match; at least in the top 5 First Years and probably at least average for the entire school. Kata had heart and spirit, but she was still at the beginning of her journey. And the gap was going to keep getting wider the longer she floundered like this, the longer she didn't know what direction to go in. Today her priority was to be the Hero she always envisioned. Save people, make them believe in her, no matter the cost to her or her reputation. If Kouta-kun got all the glory for beating Red Horn, or at least holding his own, so be it. She had no problem with that, being a Hero wasn't all to do with getting the fight. It's what her Quirk was best at considering it didn't have a huge amount of long-term use but for this specific instance it was fine. Glancing to the side, she saw a brief glimpse of Kouta and Red Horn, Kouta using that cape to launch himself up and strike towards Red Horn's head. She didn't have time to resolution though, bounding towards the break in the buildings to hit the street. So far, with where Kouta-kun was positioned she might just have to go for Plan B but that just meant she didn't have to stop. Her voice lowered to a determined growl, speaking to herself so that she wasn't heard, pushing herself down this long street towards the near-blinding light. "Come on Kouta-kun... you can do it! You might lack a bit of faith in yourself... but I believe in you!"And with that, she turned and skidded out into the open street, kicking up a small wave of water as she moved through a puddle, looking towards the intersection and hoping beyond all hope Kouta-kun had managed to stick to the plan. Either way, she bent low in order to begin bounding again, really forcing herself forward as her drive to win surged through her. Sometimes she wondered if her Quirk affected her brain chemistry in more ways than simply filling her with adrenaline, because frankly she always felt like she could conquer anything when she started to hit the top of her curve. Time to execute Stage 2! She only hoped Kouta-kun was ok! -------- > Sprinting through the streets more. > Quirk hits 3/4th maximum power at the end of the post. > Made it to the end of the winding back-alleys and is now out on the open street.

Mia had to admit...she was impressed.
Kouta's slow approach meant he had plenty of time to react to her own assault, her uppercut not only missing but being subjected to the grasp of his dark tendrels. She suppressed a smirk spreading across her lips too soon even then, rearing her arm back as she naturally shifted to spin about and try and slam Kouta with the back of her fist. The result? Not in her favor. She didn't know for sure if Kouta had been expecting this switcheroo, but where Mia had expected to be using his tendrels against him to draw him in close for her spinning back-hand, Mia found instead he was using the stretched tendrels to his advantage, the strain it put on her arm suddenly releasing as the 'rubber band' between them snapped and he was launched up skyward. Red Horn's Red eyes turning high as she watched the kid move in the air.
Finally, she let that grin start to form. Even playing the villain, even FACING a villain, she could never resist a smile when a foe was impressing her. And damn, Kouta learned fast.
Spinning in the air, his tendrels wrapping together underneath him to act as the drill tip of his drop-attack, Mia's maw spread into a wider, tusk filled grin as she prepared to take the attack. As he rapidly descended down against her, Mia reacted quickly. Her hands slammed together above her head, one hand twisting towards herself, the other away, catching the tip of the dark drill in her curved palms and letting out a roar of agony as the burning speed of this devestating attack was caught in her rough palms. Mia never had the smoothest skin, and while it did a lot to slow down the drill attack between her palms, the sheer force of friction was almost genuinely setting her skin alight. But for now, it was just alight with pain.
She grit her teeth and endured till the speed of the drill began to slow, and before Kouta could escape, Mia sunk her thick hands into the darkness. He'd learned from her, and she'd learned from him. His tendrels FELT life like, but she'd learned in their first fight he could discard them readily...so she hoped literally thrusting her fingers through the darkness wouldn't hurt him. She'd find his ankle beneath the tip of the drill, wrapping both her hands around his leg, and taking him from her head as she begun to spin him around. Each turn faster than the last, centrifugal forces flowing down her arms and pulsing all the way up to Kouta's head, before on a 5th spin with a mighty growl, she finally let go, sending Kouta skidding across the intersection, ironically towards his goal...
"Haaa....Ya know what kid...I'm gonna almost feel bad killing you...~" She'd smirk ever wider. She had to continue playing the villain here, but...hopefully he'd get the message. She was impressed by not only his ingenuity, but his quick mind, and his showmanship. Heck, even just the damage he did to her hands. She managed to stop a direct blow, but as she strode slowly towards him with heavy steps, she looked to her palms. A bright red across them as they still stung against the very air. Even the fake rain pouring down above them did little to cool the sensation burning in her skin...
She clenched her fists, wincing at the pain, but keeping up the act, her steps heavy as she approached the crashed Kouta, a heavy crash of fake thunder sounding out behind her, her drenched, blonde hair, flowing down her face like a wild main.
" 'Almost' ain't enough to stop me though...."
Tldr
Mia is fucking impressed She slams her hands around the base of the drill, catching it, but channeling all the damage through her hands. Shoves her hands through the darkness, grabbing his ankle. She spins 5 times, FAST, disorientating him and forcing blood towards his head Throws him towards the intersection Steps towards him. Ready to finsih the job.

This was it! It had fit together perfect, as she'd envisioned. Red Horn was a strong Hero but she was someone to focus far too much on a single opponent, acknowledging their skill in battle and fighting them like an honorable warrior. As much as Kata respected that, she also knew it was a weakness to be exploited, an opening that could be made in her guard. She hadn't known it was Red Horn at the start, but once she was aware she knew she and Kouta-kun had chosen the right plan for the job. The moment she saw Kouta being thrown and Red Horn stepping out into the intersection, Kata had been coming around the corner. Leaning into that slide, she used the momentum to launch herself forward hard, bounding like an Olympic sprinter of old, every step clearing a few meters, the sound masked by the pouring rain. She could barely even feel the weight of the dummy anymore, the adrenaline sharpening her mind and body like a blade with an edge that could cut fine silk. Even from her quick glance she could tell Kouta-kun had been hurt by that attack somewhat and was on the defensive, anyone would be, having been thrown by Red Horn. Her instincts kicked in, her desire and drive to protect her new-found friend as if their life actually depended on it. She could feel it in her heart and her soul, a feeling of 'right'. Like this was what she had been meant to do all along. Everything that had led up to this was a prelude to their current situation, the Stage 1 of a play. Her vision shrank, until all she could see was the gigantic beast of a woman in front of her. Every step felt like an eternity as her mind played through every possibility, trying desperately to find the best reaction, crushing any semblance of doubt under the iron weight of duty. It was her duty to protect Kouta-kun. It was her duty to protect this wooden dummy. No matter the cost, no matter the indignation. Heroes. Did not. Lose. That last step, she knew she was close enough now. She sprung upwards, the peal of thunder in the background masking the movement until it was hopefully far too late for this villain to react. Time seemed to slow, moving only with her heartbeat, her signature grin being replaced with a face of pure, focused intensity. All other sound seemed to cease, replaced by a dull ringing in her ears. She'd heard her father speak of this before, that moment where one could see everything; like in a manga, two sword masters able to predict and react to each other's movements because in that one moment, that split-second of action, their thoughts moved faster than space-time. "RAIGA FURASSHU!" [ ライガーフラッシュ; Liger Flash ] Using the momentum of her jump, Kata swing her leg in a powerful roundhouse, aiming her shin directly for Red Horn's nose. Her body twisted to the side, coiling all of her gravity and power into that one central point on her leg, enough power to easily knock a normal person unconscious, or at least shatter their lower orbital socket and nose. Red Horn was no ordinary woman however and the true power of such a kick was the surprise and the follow-through. She was counting on the momentum of the kick either colliding with Red Horn's face or missing to be enough. Enough for what, you may ask? In the same moment she struck, she extended her arm out behind her body, which had now turned so that in the air her back was to where Kouta-kun had presumably landed, letting go of the dummy and pushing it with any leftover strength she had towards him. With that cape of his and his own speed, it should be easy enough to catch, considering Kata had placed herself almost directly in the path of Red Horn's arms if she were to reach out to try and take it. Risky, but in this instance it was better than leaving Kouta-kun to fend off Red Horn by himself. Whether or not the kick connected, Kata would bend herself backwards, landing on her hands and pushing up to launch her back to her feet, standing between Red Horn and Kouta. Stage Two of the plan was now active. Kouta-kun knew what he needed to do and Kata's resolute and determined face told a story all of it's own. If this was a real situation she'd be ready to die here to protect her friend and this civilian... and they'd been told to treat this like a real rescue situation. Sacrificial lamb or not, every second she could buy Kouta could mean the difference between that civilian escaping or being caught. Despite her small frame, Kata stood like a resolute wall, tensing and relaxing her muscles to keep her Quirk ticking over as best she could, feeling it reach the peak of it's power now. She had no intention of letting Red Horn pass. -------- > Sprints towards the fight, delivers a roundhouse kick to Mia, aiming for the face. > Uses the momentum to drop the dummy to Kouta in the same moment. > If it hits, attempts to land on her hands then flip back so that she stands between Red Horn and the exit. > Quirk now hits maximum power at end of post. Will maintain this power for 4 turns. > Switching posting orders because it felt better for the fight; this has been agreed by all parties.

The drill had worked, until it did not! Oh no! As it turns out, Kouta failed to account for the fact that such an "all-in" sort of attack on the first go was a very poor choice and that, while he apparently got something out of it from listening to how loud Mia got, it still didn't really work when she was still very much standing after blocking it, as well as being more than ready to catch him the moment he actually stopped. Her fingers that outright pierced his cape without a second thought or really anything to delay them, causing the young boy to reveal a weakness to his quirk when he screamed out of agony, feeling like those fingers just punched and punctured through his very skin.
The spinning that followed left him disorientated, if in agony was not enough to have him in a very terrible spot, his body tumbling very much like a ragdoll through the streets that she threw him on. Into the intersection, where he struggled to even stand up, dizzy and still in a great deal of pain, his cape failing to regenerate itself thanks to his lack of perfect focus, leaving him with a surprisingly tattered look. "..Bite me." The darkened hero stared daggers directly at Redhorn the "villain", not desiring to completely break character even if he was in a state where it'd be absolutely alright to do so, choosing to instead flash her a sneaky thumbs up from his left hand while struggling to get back onto his feet, unable to support himself on his right arm for some reason, his blood slowly going back into his body.
Time froze, however. Kouta's merciless beatdown was entirely interrupted when a young Kata jumped back in, swinging a proper roundhouse gloriously into Redhorn's face, forcing Kouta to quickly notice that they had moved directly into the perfect spot for their plan to work - and he had entirely forgot the moment he got thrown so hard he almost passed out from the dizziness! Yet, here she was, kicking Redhorn and passing that victim to Kouta.
"Got it, K---Kuh!?" A sudden jolt of pain shot up his entire body the moment he attempted to reach to the fake civilian body, a snap reaction having his tattered, yet strong cape to separate into several different tendrils shoot out to neatly wrap around the body, careful to not hold it way too tight, his velvety, yet surprisingly lifelike cape holding snugly onto it. Against his better judgement, he bolted. Young lad knew exactly what would happen to Kata if he continued to follow their initial plan and how much pain she'd have to be put through, yet there was no courage in him to actually deny her this moment, neither was there cruelty in his soul to waste the chance she got him and the time she was buying with pity that would border on insult. As a hero, an important thing to have is the resole to put their personal well-being on the table to get a win.
"I got it! Hold onto her with all you got or so help me god!" Snapped Kouta as he ran at full speed towards the goal - a straight line thankfully, since he was just so dizzy he couldn't even fly anymore, fearing the possibility of veering off and slamming into a wall. Running just felt better for his slowly-clearing vision. Vision that noticed that the reason he wasn't able to reach towards the dummy to catch it lying in his freely flopping right arm, dislocated at the shoulder, not hurting other than in special occasions thanks to the hilarious amounts of adrenaline pumping through his entire body.
Turns out that damaging his cape feels exactly like skin so he was left in agony because it felt like he was stabbed with all her fingers Got swung and thrown, so now his vision is kinda blurry and he's still a bit disorientated - thank god he has to run in a straight line Knows Kata will suffer but wouldn't dare to insult her courage with his pity Finds out mid-run that his right arm is dislocated and unusable
