Last night in Hanoi, Duong Tam Kha, the leader of the Sieu Nhan (The Vietnamese Transhumanist Party), seized control of Hanoi and ousted the People's Party in Vietnam after a four-day civil war.
This follows Duong Tam Kha’s October 23rd declaration of war on the “One Party State,” where he claimed the People’s Party were ‘relics of a Cold War Order” and “illegitimate.”
According to second-hand reports, the local army refused orders to arrest Tam Kha, defecting to the side of the Sieu Nhan. Tam Kha then began to march on Hanoi, unopposed by all Vietnamese Army forces sent to stop him.
Upon arrival at the capital, Tam Kha and the former People’s Party President, Nguyan Dao, met to discuss terms of surrender, and a peaceful exchange of power. According to Sieu Nhan, the People’s Party attempted to poison Tam Kha during the negotiations.
Nguyan was seized, and the remaining People’s Party forces surrendered. In a speech outside the National Assembly, Tam Kha formally dissolved the National Assembly and Central Committee, and appointed himself interim President. His first actions were to announce the equal rights for quirkers and abolish all quirk-based regulations, and call for new government elections over the next few months. Thus far, no other candidates have announced an intent to run for the office of president.
Meanwhile, Nguyan Dao has been charged with corruption, unlawful use of force, and treason, and remains in Sieu Nhan custody. If found guilty, he could be executed.
Thus far, the UN has refrained from responding to the situation, though foreign Vietnamese have been referring to Tam Kha’s actions as “a naked coup.” Transhumanist Activity has been on an uptick of the past decades, from the Metahuman-Nouveau fashion movement to atrocities such as the Tokyo 5 terrorist attack. How this event will play out on the world stage remains to be seen.
