Mia was just looking for a bit of a break from the police station. She didn't exactly know where to go or what to do with her time, but she needed just a bit of space from the planning phase to clear her head. A little bit of fresh air could do anyone the world of good afterall and that's exactly what she needed. Sure, she'd have preferred to go home and just watch some TV or catch a movie through netflix, but she knew she needed to be back sooner rather than later, but for now, while she could pretend she was looking for somewhere to charge her 'dead' phone, she could use the excuse to just...get some space.
The chilly autumn air was good. She liked it most when it was cold. Sure in the hotter weather beautiful women tended to show a bit more skin but as much as Mia could admire that the chill of winter was just so much more refreshing against her firm figure. That, and she had to admit, seeing a girl in something form fitting yet cozy, like a good sweater or some thermal stockings or something? Ugh. Her heart would ache and she'd just wanna cuddle them right where their waist got real slim.
As she wandered idly through the streets, her hero costume hidden only by a zipped up Parka she was wearing, she dipped down an alleyway looking for a shortcut, cutting through the streets and as she emerged down the other end of the street...she realized she'd wandered just a little too far.
Pulling out of the alleyway, she leaned against the wall of the street on the other end, her hood flicked up over her head a little, though not enough to even attempt her Red horn with it's bright yellow scar. She looked over to the shipping containers she could see in the distance, having strayed far too close to where the auction was supposed to be being held...no one seemed to be around, so she wasn't too worried right at this moment, but the HQ would have a field day with her if they learned she'd gotten too close to the scene. Afterall, the moment a criminal or villain realizes the 'great red horn' jolted from her usual patrol route and was hanging out near the biggest gathering of criminals to date?
The plan got a whole lot more complicated...

The umbrella term of Vigilante is often a very wide, loose title that is given to everyone who isn't really evil, but also not a sanctioned hero. There were amazing vigilantes who were absolute upholders of all that is good and just, there were some people that fit more the anti-hero side who did things freely and any good they did was not because of a sense of duty, maybe not even a self serving one, but one that just served their morals instead. Maybe that was a sense of duty?
Well, Maximillian Tychus Kane, or as he had started calling himself Yuki, because it sounded cute really, lived his vigilante life as a much more self serving one, looking to use it to keep advancing his own grasp into the criminal underworld to have an actual influence within it, serve as a stopgap for their outreaching cruelty. Sort of a bottle cap that refused to let the bubbling soda explode out. To do that, however, he'd need his strength and influence to be as strong as steel.
However small his reach may be, with just about enough money given to a deranged hobo who hears everything everyday, one can find out info about all sorts of nice things. Like how some asshole named Pluto was looking to sell experimental military weaponry and that, so the poor man had heard, that it was all connected to that Semper Fi thing that was the national talk for a very long time. It struck a chord with the young man, face covered in a light blue Oni mask made out of ice to cover his identity - something that was easy to sustain -, a chord that came from the simple thing called friendship.
Maxi had done some horrible, fucked up stuff. Once, sure, but it still left him with a guilt on his shoulders that he still dragged around every day. He was kicked out, started a whole new life, was making some serious money and, even then, he felt like there was some lack of closure with the whole Semper Fi thing.
He did nothing.
The entire time he spent underground doing diddly, simply because nothing progressed. The fear of blowing holes in the walls to progress faster, since he had no idea if the whole thing would topple over them. When he finally got to the end, everything was over, bodies were on the ground and he never got a chance to help.
"The heavens have given me the perfect chance." The young man muttered to himself, fists clenching angrily over finally having the chance to actually do some right. If it meant destroying everything he saw to make sure that no bad soul ever profited off of Semper Fi, then he'd do his best. "Take this." Maxi spoke quickly while turning to leave, giving the hobo extra money for giving him that juicy info. Just in the nick of time, with him, dressed in simple, nondescript clothing, with a hoodie covering his head and the ice mask resembling an angry Oni covering his face, its edges having frozen over his hoodie's hood to attach them both together so that it wouldn't slip back by accident and reveal his very uncommon hair, something that a bad guy could use to find him when not in "service", and made his way to the harbor.
What would one guess, though? As he was turning the corner while making sure that the least amount of people during that night could see his masked face, in the alleyway, the tallest figure he remembered was right there in front of him, apparently trying to hide herself while watching the harbor, just like he was planning to. Though he wanted to go there to wreck everything in front of him. Did she not know what was happening there? If she did, she'd probably be going out there to destroy it all herself! Better talk to her, see if he can get her to not arrest him once he lets loose in there.
"Redhorn." The young man spoke, his voice having matured a slight bit since they last met, though it was a bit chillier, slightly deeper thanks to the mask covering his face. At that point, his natural heat absorption finally made itself known through the greater chill spreading violently through the entire alleyway, his presence making itself felt much greater than a normal person's. Though he didn't like it that much, it just made stealth impossible. "That's the Shinagawa Port. They will sell there experimental military weaponry from Semper Fi. Are you here to bring it all down to ashes as well?" Maxi, or, well, "Yuki" asked while staring directly at her, hoping that it'd go well enough that he wouldn't have to reveal his identity to save his own ass from a rampaging giant woman who could very much easily mistake him for a villain. She didn't strike him as the most tactful person the last time they met, though she clearly isn't brainless or too reckless.

A kid using a mask made of ice was hardly an easy think to miss, and as Maxi came into view, even with her eyes looking off to the port in the distance, it wasn’t at all hard to miss him. The hell? Was that a quirk or some weird ass design? She could recognize what it was meant to be easily enough. Back before people actually made personalized merch of her, her fans would wear Oni masks in the crowds of her take downs. Well, her fans, and a handful of jackasses using the sily looking faces to just make fun of her. A traditional Oni mask though…she hadn’t seen one of those for a while. Not outside the more ‘cultural’ sections of the main city at least.
Watching the kid approach her, she’d have assumed he was a fan who’d managed to spot her in turn, if his mask wasn’t blue. Well, if it was made with his icey quirk or something she supposed he wouldn’t have a choice, but even then it wasn’t hard to make a ‘Red Horn’ mask, or find one, rather than get a full on Oni looking thing. If she had to be honest she kinda hated the weird ass faces they made-
Getting off track. Kid was speaking. Give him some attention. She rolled her shouilders back as he at least seemed to recognize her. Not surprising these days. She kinda felt stunned when people didn’t recognize Japan’s number one hero, but she supposed even as one of America’s bigger vigilantes that could still happen from time to time.
What really stunned her this time though was what he said. A gut reaction to keep quiet welled up but….uuuugh. Why was this even a secret anymore. Kenshin let slip all the vigilantes knew about it, and now some random kid in a mask she’d never met was trying to bring HER attention to it. As if she didn’t already know! Well…to give him credit his choice of words implied he thought she DID know so…uuuugh fuck.
Pinching the bridge of her nose firmly, one of her hands still resting in the pocket of her Parka, she growled out. "This is the worst kept fucking secret..." With a moment to just deeply sigh through her nose, she rested her hands back in her pockets. She should have been careful, but fuck it. If this guy was a villain who could inform the others that she was gonna be crashing the party, she doubted he could outrun her. "Yeah. Something like that..." She paused for a moment, just taking in the...presence, of the kid infront of her.
The chill.
Something was registering, but Mia didn't really recognize the memory enough for anything to really click. She knew she recognized this sensation of chill from another's presence, but not enough to place it. "...We met before ice mask?"

Honestly, Redhorn actually looked cute in a parka, at least to him. Maxi was still wearing just a simple hoodie, something too simple for someone who spread some serious chill anywhere he went, since he himself wasn't really affected by it -- after all, the spreading chill was just because he was continuously absorbing heat so, while the place around him in quite the incredible radius continued to freeze over, Maxi was still warm at his core, though his skin was cold as always. Cold like death's grip, but he wouldn't continue drawing that comparison. Too edgy, even for him.
The choice of an oni's mask was already "daring" enough in terms of outfit, having chosen its use by virtue of his own quirk because it associated him with the legend of the "Yuki-Onna", without actually having to look girly, something that, though he was probably able to do, still didn't want to. If someone he knew saw him cross-dressing, he'd either be mocked relentlessly or endlessly flirted on, of which was worse he had no idea. What he had an idea was how he got the info, something that seemed to piss her off. Was it supposed to be a secret, even though he learned his own info from the least assuming person ever? Well, it was worth answering her, a grin showing on his face, though none could see it under the mask. The way he made it, a shadow was always cast over his eyes and mouth, even though they were open. Well, that is, unless he looks directly up at a light source, or someone shines a light directly into his face. "Was supposed to be a secret? I bribed a hobo and he told me, from what I see, very good info."
It wasn't a joke, no matter how much the words that just came out of his mouth made light of the ridiculous situation. Maxi was here because he bribed a hobo with enough money for him to spill the beans on everything he knew, things he'd hear by passer-bys, using his interesting, precarious situation for his own profit. Word on criminal streets was always so valuable to know. It was like the crime world never actually rested and always had something new for Maxi to latch on and go investigate. Never a dull moment, really. "We met before?" Maxi repeated her question while considering what to say. By now, she probably noticed his rather unique quirk as far as things went, his ice prowess being rather peerless as far as things went - by virtue of not seeing another ice user in god damn ages, so there was really no mistaking him. Before she caught him in some lie, he might as well come clean.
"The child you helped a long while ago, weeping because he was depressed over being repeatedly harassed by the people he stuck up for. Yeah, that's me. I'm here to do hero work in my own way, because the heroes are under-staffed, under-manned and not supported well enough. Any objections, Kearney?" Maxi asked while raising his right hand a slight bit, palm open, covered in a black, furry glove. Though nothing was coming out, he was in a position where ice could rapidly form and defend himself should the need come. He was much stronger now than last time they met, but.. he was so 100% unable to defeat her. He felt it in his soul, with how deeply she had defeated him as is simply be existing in front of him.
But a big lug of a woman like her probably didn't know all the slithery shit Maxi could pull, so.. he figured he'd still be able to escape, in case she did not believe his good intentions in relation to his presence here.

Bribed a hobo? He- "Good fucking lord..." Mia pinched the bridge of her nose between her finger and thumb, stinging a little from her somewhat sharp nails. A deep groan let out from her throat at the sheer fact either the villains, heroes, or vigilantes were so stupid that this information got out so easily, just letting her hand drop and her head tilt back with a deep sigh of defeat that they were all so fucking stupid. Sure probably only one faction was to blame, and it was likely the criminals, but jesus christ guys she expected more of you, even if you were dumbass criminals. "Right. Well. Guess that much is out of the bag at least..." She slipped her hand back into her pocket, careful not to say more till she was sure this kid could be trusted.
And as he went on to describe who he was...Mia wasn't too sure. She noted he was wearing a mask, and would be careful not to say his name, but while the initial memory of him brought a fainr smirk, Mia slowly realized EXACTLY what her last memory of him was. She loomed over him a little, not difficult with her titanic size. Her muscles tensed and bulged out a little though it was difficult to notice through her Parka, her red eyes sharpening a little into something between the usual circle and her more rage fueled slits as she leaned over him.
"I also know you got expelled from UA for attacking another student." She'd start forwardly. It was hardly a secret. Perhaps a public one, but the other heroes had been filled in right quick to make sure they keep an eye out. Afterall, the time someone had been expelled before him, lead to a villain that actively executed people on live TV. Mia wasn't sure what to make of the kid herself just yet, so she was open to hearing a justification. She didn't mind the idea of vigilante back up for such an operation, but she was also confident in her own skills. She wasn't about to let informaiton slip to someone who, for all she knew, was actually just a criminal.
"I'd say you got a handful of seconds to give me a reason to keep talkin' to you before I turn on my heels and walk away. I ain't about to be loose lipped around someone I ain't got reason to trust."
